Imagine if the Media Had as Much Sympathy for Small Business Owners as it Does for Federal Employees

This isn’t to say that the media never covers these topics. But it is fairly safe to say that beyond publications intended specifically for business readers, ordinary media outlets have rarely showed much interest in examining the plight of small business owners in a way similar to how they’ve been covering the effect of the current shutdown on federal workers. Rarely does mainstream coverage emphasize the daily problems that small business owners face in providing payroll for workers (and themselves), meeting customer demands, and keeping the lights on.

US media intensify pretext for ousting Trump

It’s no secret that since his election in 2016, powerful elements in the US political and media establishment have been running a non-stop campaign to remove Trump from the White House. Lately, the stakes have been raised.

Spearheading the media effort to defenestrate Trump are the New York Times and Washington Post. Both have been prominent purveyors of the “Russiagate” narrative over the past two years, claiming that Republican candidate colluded with Russian state intelligence, or at least was a beneficiary of alleged Russian interference, to win the presidency against Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.
Congressional investigations and a probe by a Special Counsel Robert Mueller, along with relentless media innuendo, have failed to produce any evidence to support the Russiagate narrative.

Television Networks Put Out 90 Percent Anti-Trump Spin in 2018

Everyone knows that the anti-Trump spin put out by the establishment media continues to be relentless and 2018 was no exception.

Conservative watchdog group the Media Research Center has been analyzing literally every bit of Donald Trump coverage that airs on ABC, CBS and NBC’s evening news programs that are seen by 23 million people nightly. They began their monitoring for this study in January 2017.

John Kasich Hired by CNN as 2020 Presidential Speculation Grows

Close advisers and donors to Republican John Kasich have been indicating that the former Ohio governor has been actively seeking an opportunity to work for CNN.

On Tuesday, the network announced he’d be joining their team as a senior political commentator.

Kasich joining CNN, which openly skews their news coverage into opinion rather than fact in an effort to oppose President Trump, will only serve to fuel speculation that he is looking to run for president in 2020 as an independent.

Google caught censoring search results on abortions, Maxine Waters & more – report

Internal discussions from Google indicate that the search giant is “manually” curating blacklists of search terms – including Rep. Maxine Waters, anti-gun activist David Hogg, and abortion – on YouTube and other services.

The conservative news site Breitbart says it obtained an internal discussion thread from a Google employee showing the existence of a blacklist, as well as a partial list of blacklisted terms from another source within the company.

“We have tons of white- and blacklists that humans manually curate,” Breitbart quoted one Google employee. “Hopefully this isn’t surprising or particularly controversial.”

Exclusive– Marsha Blackburn: Sundar Pichai ‘Less than Truthful’ about Manipulating Google’s Search Results

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) told Breitbart News in an exclusive statement on Wednesday that Google CEO Sundar Pichai’s congressional testimony was “less than truthful” regarding his statement that Google does not “manually intervene” on any search result.

Breitbart News senior tech reporter Allum Bokhari revealed in an exclusive report on Wednesday that, despite Pichai’s sworn testimony, Google and YouTube use “blacklists” for “controversial YouTube queries” which contain a list of search terms the Silicon Valley giant considers sensitive. In one instance, YouTube downranked pro-life videos from its top ten search results for “abortion.” Further, Bokhari revealed that Google employs “huge teams” dedicated to the manual intervention of its search results, which serves as an apparent contradiction to Pichai’s sworn testimony.

Outrage as Swedish TV Cuts Word 'Islam' From Saudi Refugee Girl Story

The story of Rahaf Mohammed, an 18-year-old Saudi girl who has become an international media darling for her flight to the West from "persecution", aired by Swedish national broadcaster SVT has made Swedes see red.

In their piece on Rahaf Mohammad, the Saudi refugee girl who claimed to have suffered "abuse" back home due to her non-conformist behaviour, SVT omitted the reference to Islam, triggering many Swedes' ire.

In the interview aired by SVT Aktuellt, Rahaf Mohammed said that she was kept locked up for six months after getting a short haircut and suffered abuse from her brother and her mother. The reason for it, she claimed, is that short haircuts for women are forbidden in Islam, because it makes women look like men.

However, SVT's translation left out the Islam reference completely, with words "Islam" and "haram" ("forbidden" in Arabic) conspicuously absent from the subtitles, despite clearly being uttered by the teen.

CASE STUDY: REUTERS AND US MEDIA URGE OFFENSIVE AGAINST IRAN

A 2013 news investigation of Iranian corruption by Reuters news service has been cited by at least four books published one after another, the most recently in 2018.

It has also been cited by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in 2018 speech. Given the article’s ongoing influence, this article will scrutinize flaws in the reporting techniques and raise reasonable questions about several of its findings. The article will also mention, a piece of important historical context, that was long assumed, but made official in 2013 – the same year the story was published – when the US government released classified documents about its involvement in the overthrow of Iran’s democratically elected leader in 1953 and the establishment of the Shah. The purpose of this article is not to stain the reputation of an entire news agency – but to simply lay out an alternative context for interpreting a single, influential story.

Guardian all alone as MSM fail to corroborate Assange/Manafort ‘dud’ story

The Guardian’s ‘bombshell’ story that ex-Donald Trump adviser, Paul Manafort, met with Wikileaks Julian Assange is falling apart, as outlets fail to corroborate the claims, some even questioning the paper’s standards.

On November 27, the Guardian splashed with an eye-catching article, claiming that its journalists had seen an Ecuadorian intelligence agency document detailing that Manafort and Assange had met three times in the London Ecuadorian embassy, including during the run-up to the 2016 US Presidential Election.

The piece suggested that "Russians" were also guests at the embassy, though it failed to identify any individuals in question. The article also didn’t include any non-anonymous sources nor did it reproduce, in any capacity, the document in question.

The story didn’t quite have the impact desired, instigating an ongoing debate even among the most ardent members of so-called ‘Resistance.’

The newspaper said it was looking into who created the fake papers. They are not Post products, and we are looking into this," The Post's verified public relations account stated.

Red Flag Gun Laws – Public Safety or Abuse of the Innocent?

There is a bias in politician's press releases and in the slanted news. The media and the politicians ignore the fact that firearms are used to save lives far more often than they are used to take them. News stories about violence hold an audience. Stories about violence get politicians in front of TV cameras. The good guy with a gun that stopped a crime from happening isn’t even considered news. The scales are tipped; tragedy becomes front page news while the triumph of a life saved is hardly mentioned.

Google Manipulated YouTube Search Results To Program Users’ Behavior

In a new leak that can be accurately labeled “the smoking gun,” Google has been busted manipulating search results on YouTube in order to manipulate social behaviors and control minds. An internal discussion thread leaked to Breitbart News reveals that Google regularly intervenes in search results on its YouTube video platform.

According to Breitbart, the existence of the blacklist (terms Google considered sensitive) was revealed in an internal Google discussion thread leaked to Breitbart News by a source inside the company who wishes to remain anonymous. A partial list of blacklisted terms was also leaked to Breitbart by another Google source. Some of the blacklisted terms included “abortion,” and terms related to the Irish abortion referendum, Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters, and anti-gun activist and communist, David Hogg.

Can Hollywood’s Biggest Media Companies Avoid Getting Crushed by Debt?

Randall Stephenson, AT&T’s chairman-CEO, summoned all of his folksy Oklahoma earnestness as he made an enthusiastic pitch to Wall Street analysts about the telephone company’s bold efforts to transform itself into a multimedia powerhouse. It was late November, less than six months after AT&T had wrapped up its $85 billion acquisition of Time Warner. But before Stephenson could wax poetic about his plans to revitalize HBO, Warner Bros. or other newly acquired AT&T subsidiaries, he felt compelled to address the elephant in the room.

“If you hear nothing else this afternoon, I want you to hear me on this,” Stephenson said at the company’s investor presentation in New York. “Our discretionary cash flow is going to go to one place. It’s going to be paying down debt.”

Race-Baiting CNN Analyst Slams Host For "White Privilege", Then Discovers He's Black

CNN legal analyst Areva Martin had a race-baiting fail after accusing SiriusXM radio host and Fox News contributor David Webb of "white privilege" during a debate on his Monday morning radio show

While discussing a recent controversy stoked by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) over CBS failing to hire any black journalists to cover the 2020 election, Webb asked Martin what she thought.

Since January 1, neither CNN nor MSNBC has booked a single “Angel Mom” — mothers of children brutally murdered by illegal aliens — as guests on their networks, per an analysis conducted by the Republican National Committee (RNC).

The RNC told Breitbart News it has tracked both networks since the beginning of the year as they intensely bash President Donald Trump over the government shutdown that is now the longest ever in the history of the United States. Since the turn of the year to 2019 from 2018, neither network has conducted a single interview with any family members of victims of illegal alien crimes.

Netflix Hikes Prices Up To 18% For 58 Million US Subscribers

AP reports that Netflix's most popular plan will see the largest hike, to $13 per month from $11. That option offers high-definition streaming on up to two different internet-connected devices simultaneously. The price for the cheapest plan is going up to $9 per month. A premium plan offering ultra-high definition will jump to $16 per month from $14.

Even at the higher price, that plan is still a few dollars cheaper than HBO, whose streaming service charges $15 per month, but Amazon offers a streaming service as part of its Prime shipping program for $13 per month.

This is the first time that higher prices will hit all 58 million U.S. subscribers

The new prices will immediately affect all new subscribers and then roll out to existing customers during the next three months.

"We change pricing from time to time as we continue investing in great entertainment and improving the overall Netflix experience," the company said in a statement.

In Western Media, Publishing Fake News About Russia Is A Good Career Move... With No Consequences

Fighting "Russian disinformation" in the West has become a lucrative business. But, in reality, you're far more likely to encounter deceitful agitprop directed at Russia.

CP Scott remains a towering figure in the annals of British journalism. Editor of the then "Manchester Guardian" for an astonishing 57 years, he celebrated his paper's centenary by laying down a set of legendary principles.

"Comment is free, but facts are sacred," Scott intoned in the missive. Sadly, almost a hundred years later, facts are free and the right to spread disinformation is becoming sacred, as far as his successors are concerned. Particularly when it comes to coverage of Russia.

Yet another example came over the New Year break. Following a few weeks out of the spotlight after peddling an obviously fake story about Julian Assange/Paul Manafort meetings in London, Luke Harding reappeared. And he came armed with his particular brand of bulls*** and sloppiness.

Integrity Initiative: By all means smear & attack, but at least be honest about it

We've all met those people who describe themselves as laid back, when in reality they're just one loud noise from a mouth frothing breakdown. So when something describes itself as having integrity, be wary.

Enter the Integrity Initiative (II), Britain's very own government funded influence network which is currently in the process of having its underpants revealed to the world. There's no doubting it's an initiative, the jury's out on the other bit. Some of the people behind it are alleged former spies (can you be a former spy?), a calling not often linked to integrity.

There's a good chance you may not know much about the Integrity Initiative, the mainstream media is not exactly straining to tell you about it. Labour MP Chris Williamson suggests that's because a number of mainstream journalists have signed up to work with it.

STUDY: U.S. NEWSPAPERS ARE MORE THAN TWICE AS LIKELY TO CITE ISRAELI SOURCES IN HEADLINES THAN PALESTINIAN ONES

Headlines matter. As studies have repeatedly shown, when it comes to reaching the general public, the words at the top of the page might be as important, if not more, than the text of articles themselves — to the chagrin of many writers. In the case of the Israel-Palestine conflict, inappropriate, misleading, and biased headlines like those that appeared in the New York Times during 2014 Gaza War have been all too common.

This is the conclusion of a new study titled “50 Years of Occupation” published by 416Labs, a research and data analytics firm based in Canada. The firm analyzed nearly 100,000 news headlines about the conflict in the American press over the past five decades and found that the Israeli point of view was featured much more prominently than the Palestinian one, and that references to Palestinians’ experiences of being “refugees” or living under “occupation” have steadily declined.

Community heads and prominent Jewish organisations with a carefully-crafted, respectable public profile have donated millions to fund secret projects targeting students and lecturers, the report has found. On a number of occasions, their blind support for Israel has seen them bankroll far-right and anti-Muslim hate groups.

It’s kind of like Sabrina Rubin Erdely’s “A Rape on Campus” disaster for Jann Wenner’s Rolling Stone, which turned out to be incredibly boring.
