The independent media just saved America from a bloody race war (that the mainstream media was trying to start)

Yes, we’ve actually reached the point of insanity in America where “mainstream” media journalists actively wish for hate crimes and race wars. And they are willing to lie and deceive the public to try to make that happen.

Mass Protests in Haiti, Like France’s Yellow Vests, Threaten Modern Oligarchic Structure

Throughout recent Latin American history, it is hard to find a country that has been as thoroughly manipulated and plundered by the United States as Haiti has. After over a century of U.S. intervention — from the 19-year-long U.S. military occupation that began in 1915 to the 2010 election rigged by the Hillary Clinton-run State Department — Haiti has become the ultimate neoliberal experiment that has forced its people to live in conditions so horrible that rivers of sewage often run through the city streets.

Even Haiti’s own president, Jovenel Moise — who has presided over the most recent phase of U.S.-backed plunder — recently called the entire country a “latrine.”

The Attack on John Wayne Is an Attack on White America

Yet Wayne’s conception of American identity is being buried by demographic change. In 1970, Orange County was 86 percent white. By 2004, the massive growth in non-white population (mostly Asians and Hispanics) pushed whites to just 49 percent of population. This demographic transformation ensured Democrats won all seven congressional house seats in 2018 election, a stinging reminder that demography is destiny even in the land of John Wayne.

Not surprisingly, the new population inhabiting the area has no love for a figure associated with the conquest of the West and traditional American identity. In 2016, a push by white Republicans to have a day celebrating the birthday of John Wayne was overwhelmingly voted down because of Wayne’s “racism.” A resolution in the State Assembly failed by 36-19 votes, with opponents Assemblyman Luis Alejo and Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez citing a 1971 Playboy interview in which Wayne gave his views on race.

Covington High student's legal team sues Washington Post

Attorneys representing the Kentucky high school student involved in a confrontation that went viral on social media last month announced Tuesday that they were suing The Washington Post for $250 million in compensatory and punitive damages.

The lawsuit, which was filed in federal court in Kentucky, accused The Post of practicing "a modern-day form of McCarthyism" by targeting Nicholas Sandmann and "using its vast financial resources to enter the bully pulpit by publishing a series of false and defamatory print and online articles ... to smear a young boy who was in its view an acceptable casualty in their war against the president."

Washington Post spokesperson Kris Coratti told Fox News in an email that the paper was "reviewing a copy of the lawsuit, and we plan to mount a vigorous defense."

Victory: Unanimous Supreme Court Limits State Power to Levy Fines, Seize Property, Abuse Asset Forfeiture Laws Under Eighth Amendment

In a unanimous ruling that is expected to curb attempts by local and state governments to increase their revenue by seizing private property using excessive, arbitrary asset forfeiture laws, a unanimous U.S. Supreme Court has ruled in Timbs v. State of Indiana that state governments must abide by the Eighth Amendment’s prohibition on the imposition of “excessive fines” for criminal offenses.

Attorneys for The Rutherford Institute had filed an amicus brief in Timbs, challenging the power of states to engage in abusive “policing for profit” tactics and asking that SCOTUS overturn a ruling by the Indiana Supreme Court, which found that the Eighth Amendment did not prohibit the state from seizing a vehicle worth $42,000 as a penalty for selling four grams of heroin. Lower courts had found the seizure to be “grossly disproportionate” to the offense. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg wrote the opinion for the Court.

Your great-grandparents likely went to movies that would have made the pastel-colored drive-ins of the 1950s blush. Like the Wild West or the early days of the internet, the films of the 1920’s and early 1930’s — a period known as pre-Code Hollywood — had few rules and fewer inhibitions. As such, The Motion Picture Production Code, or the Hays Code, was established to censor American filmmakers and bring some decency back into Hollywood — and it coincided with Hollywood’s Golden Age.

In true Cartwright form, Greene came up with a solution that led to a happily ever after for the horse that had become Greene’s co-star for so many years.

Families of five American oil executives held in Venezuela for 15 months say they are being held in 'deplorable conditions' and there appears no end in sight to their nightmare as Maduro tightens his grip

Families of five American oil executives being held as part of the 'Citgo Six' say their relatives are living in overcrowded and inhumane Venezuelan jails.

Five American men, from Louisiana and Texas, have been sleeping in cramped cells and been starved since their arrest in Caracas in November 2017, their relatives claim.

The oil company they worked for is in the grip of a power struggle between Maduro and his rival for the presidency, the US-backed Juan Guaido.

A recent picture of one of the executives Tomeu Vadell, whose family live in Texas, shows dramatic weight loss and he appears extremely malnourished.

Webmaster's Commentary:

'Irritated' US admiral sends destroyer to Black Sea after Russia fires on Ukrainian vessels

An American destroyer is sailing to the Black Sea to conduct naval exercises with Ukraine to demonstrate “solidarity” in response to a clash with Russia that has a top U.S. admiral furious.

“The whole episode in the Sea of Azov was extremely bothersome to me,” Admiral James Foggo, commander of U.S. naval forces in Europe and Africa, told reporters on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference over the weekend.

Russian forces fired on three Ukrainian naval vessels that attempted to pass through the Kerch Strait, the narrow waterway that connects the Black Sea to the Sea of Azov, and arrested the sailors in late November. The maritime incident was the first public act of violence by Russian forces against Ukraine since 2014, when unmarked Russian fighters helped annex Crimea and invade eastern Ukraine. Since the takeover, Moscow has used control of the land on both sides of the waterway to restrict access to key Ukrainian ports in the Sea of Azov.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Admiral Foggo, and President Trump, a few words, please.

In 2014, there was a coup in Ukraine, sponsored by the US, NATO and the IMF, to oust the duly elected Yanukovich, and replace him, in an election more crooked than is a dog's hind leg, with Poroshenko.

President Obama himself confessed in a CNN interview, that he had been part of the group to have created "regime change" in Ukraine. Washington was behind Ukraine coup; Obama admits that the US brokered a deal in support of regime change.

Gentlemen, this next bit is very important: When the Ukrainian Putsch happened, the people of Crimea understood that there was no legitimate government in Kiev. So what the Crimean people did was a two step process.

In a free and fair referendum, the Crimean people were asked, post-putsch, if they wanted to stay as part of Ukraine, or petition the Russian Federation to join it. Overwhelmingly, the Crimean people requested to leave Ukraine, and to petition the Russian Federation to become a part of it, which happened. the A-word, as in "annexed" by Russia never, ever happened, period, end of discussion.

Now, let's fast forward to last Fall.

The Ukrainian seamen knew what the protocol was, to access the Sea of Azov, and that had everything to do with communication, and allowing the Russian sea patrollers to know in advance when another ship was coming in; they didn't follow the protocol, so got popped by Russian Navy.

I would like to hope (and pray) that your orders are not to create a confrontation.

I have a companion piece on this: Russia Shadows USS Donald Cook as it Heads to Black Sea Now why would the US Navy send the USS Donald Cook to the Black Sea, when we know that the following happened the last time it was there? Why did the US Pull back the USS Donald Cook from the Black Sea? Here's what the article said:

"US destroyer “Donald Cook” with cruise missiles “Tomahawk” entered the neutral waters of the Black Sea on April 10, 2014. The purpose was a demonstration of force and intimidation in connection with the position of Russia in Ukraine and Crimea. The appearance of American warships in these waters is in contradiction of the Montreux Convention about the nature and duration of stay in the Black Sea by the military ships of countries not washed by this sea.

In response, Russia sent an unarmed bomber Su- 24 to fly around the U.S. destroyer. However, experts say that this plane was equipped with the latest Russian electronic warfare complex. According to this version, “Aegis” spotted from afar the approaching aircraft, and sounded alarm. Everything went normally, American radars calculated the speed of the approaching target. And suddenly all the screens went blank. “Aegis” was not working any more, and the rockets could not get target information. Meanwhile, Su-24 flew over the deck of the destroyer, did battle turn and simulated missile attack on the target. Then it turned and repeated the maneuver. And did so 12 times.

The demonstration was original enough. A bomber without any weapons, but having on board equipment for jamming enemy radar, worked against a destroyer equipped with “Aegis”, the most modern system of air and missile defence."

So, Admiral, has the USS Donald Cook actually had its equipment repaired to the point where it can no longer have its radar utterly destroyed by Russian equipment?!? Did you look the leadership of this crew in the eye, before they deployed, and tell them that the ship is truly, utterly seaworthy?

And Admiral, one last question: has the President decided to make it, and its crew, the "Sacrificial Lambs" with which to start a war with Russia, because the flaw in their radar has not been fixed?!?

Please, Lord, sir, tell me no!!!!!

Food Prices Will Rise In 2019 Adversely Impacting Those Living Paycheck To Paycheck

Almost 80% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck barely able to afford to put food on the table. That’s terrible news considering the predictions currently assume that grocery prices will steadily continue to rise during 2019.

Grocery prices are expected to rise by 1 percent or 2 percent this year, according to the United States Department of Agriculture. It may seem small, but with so many U.S. households already living paycheck to paycheck, it could be just enough to have a real financial impact. Although food prices rose by just a fraction of a percent last year, and that was the first increase in three years, and it looks like prices will rise consistently during 2019, according to WCVB 5, an ABC News affiliate.

Venezuela Under Washington’s Gun

A full court press is taking place in Florida today (Presidents Day) with Republicans, Democrats, expatriates from Cuba and Venezuela and the warmonger ministry of propaganda that constitutes the US media all denouncing Maduro and blaming him for the hardships imposed on Venezuelans by Washington’s sanctions and attacks on Venezuela’s currency.

Even “liberal” NPR is reading off the same fascist warmonger script. NPR managed to report on Venezuela without mentioning the sanctions, without mentioning the theft of Venezuela’s gold foolishly entrusted to the US and British central banks, or the orchestrated protests funded by US-financed NGOs that are small in comparison with the crowds that support Maduro that are never mentioned in the US media. In other words, NPR is just another part of the whorehouse brigade.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a typically blunt, but completely honest assessment of what is going on in Venezuela, courtesy of Dr. Paul Craig Roberts.

And as someone who deeply appreciates what this man has to say, I would tell him, that the truth of situations is still out there, as evidenced by the continued existence of sites like global research and wrh; people just have to look a little further afield than the local telly, as the writing, producing, and reading of this codswallop is all engineered to get an emotional response from the reader, in order to further the US government's agenda.

U.S. pressing Gulf states to keep Syria isolated - sources

The United States is lobbying Gulf states to hold off restoring ties with Syria, including the UAE which has moved closer to Damascus to counter the influence of its rival Iran, five sources told Reuters.

The opposing approaches are an early test of whether Syrian President Bashar al-Assad can gain political and diplomatic credibility after a nearly eight-year civil war turned him into an international pariah.

Many countries cut links with Syria at the start of the war.

Several Gulf states shut or downgraded their embassies, Syria was suspended from the Arab League, flights stopped and border crossings were closed. The United States and other countries imposed economic sanctions.

Washington, backed by Gulf countries Saudi Arabia and Qatar, does not want Syria welcomed back into the international community until a political process to end the war is agreed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is apparent that these alleged reporters for Reuters UK are spewing the codswallop just as hard, and as quickly, as their US/UK masters are ordering them to do.

It is painfully obvious that the US/Israel still want regime change, and are couching it in the language of they do "not want Syria welcomed back into the international community until a political process to end the war is agreed."
Regime change to a western centric government is what they want, and for what they will move heaven and earth to get, with Al-Assad given no place on the ballot.

Al Assad did not have a civil war on his hands at the outset here; various US, Israeli, and other resources, trained, funded, and armed jihadis who were spirited into the country to destabilize Damascus; the US is just expressing sour grapes that its destabilization plot could not be made to work.

This Is How AIPAC Really Works

One thing that should be said about Representative Ilhan Omar’s tweet about the power of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (more commonly known as AIPAC, or the “Israel lobby”) is that the hysterical reaction to it proved her main point: The power of AIPAC over members of Congress is literally awesome, although not in a good way. Has anyone ever seen so many members of Congress, of both parties, running to the microphones and sending out press releases to denounce one first-termer for criticizing the power of… a lobby?

Somehow, I don’t think the reaction would have been the same if she had tweeted that Congress still supports the ethanol subsidy because the American Farm Bureau and other components of the corn/ethanol lobby spend millions to keep this agribusiness bonanza going (which they do). Or that if she had opposed the ethanol subsidy, she would have been accused of hating farmers.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What I have the most difficult time with, as an American who cares about her country, is seeing its Middle East foreign policy completely dictated by a foreign government, Israel.

Israel wanted to see Iraq broken, and incapable of actually competing with it economically; so what happens?!? The US goes in with an invasion and occupation, killing, wounding, and maiming countless numbers in the process.

Israel wanted to see Syria broken up and destroyed, with full-tilt regime change in Damascus, so what happens?!?!? The US government throws money, training, and weapons to jihadists, who were supposed to do the regime change here, but Russia intervenes and saves the day for the Al-Assad government.

Oh, and there is a little "beachhead" of sand where there are some American troops, and a very strange, flimsy, hollow statement coming from President Trump that they will be out by April, but that security necessitates a slow withdrawal.

Now Israel wants to see Iran pounded and broken up; so Mike Pence goes to Warsaw, and he and Netanyahu absolutely underwhelm their captive audience with massive lies about Iran's moves to cause destabilization and turmoil throughout the Middle East.

You see the pattern here?!?

So Mr. President, a word, please; I know that Netanyahu would love for the US military to go into Iran and bomb the beJesus out of it, just to make a point that whatever Israel and AIPAC want, they will ultimately get from the US.

But sir, I would strongly suggest caution here, because Iran hasn't given the either the US - or Israel - a reasonable excuse to attack it, short of a false flag somewhere, to blame on it.

The Russian relationship with Iran goes back centuries, and if Iran is attacked, Russia (and perhaps China)may well come in on Iran 's side.

And Mr. President, the sad truth of it is, at this point in the 21st century, the US military doesn't have the troop strength; the money; the weaponry, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome in a war over Iran, between the US, Russia, and China.

Oh yes, this government spends a great deal of money for its weapons; but the Russians and Chinese are pulling ahead with technology very quickly.

And the next time Bibi tries to "nudge" you with a phone call, that Israel needs MUCH more from its great friend, the US, which has already committed $38 billion dollars in aid to Israel over 10 years, starting in January of this year, please stand your ground, and say, "THIS time, Bubbie, I will not break up Iran for you, on top of everything else we have given you".

"You are a nuclear-armed country which refuses to sign the NNPT, and have your weapons sites inspected (which makes ANY US funding or weapons illegal, under the Symington Amendment, and the Mann Act), which Iran actually DID."

"So, please; I'm busy trying to get through the messes you've cheered for, which have been paid for at astronomical costs in American blood, and American money, under control. Iraq is a mess; Syria is a mess: Libya is a mess; save Iran for the Next President, OK?!? Gotta Go now; Shalom!!"

Yes, I know, this is only my fantasy of President Trump getting some spine about not allowing Netanyahu to dictate Middle Eastern foreign policy.

But the moment I hear that the draft is going to be resurrected in this country, is the moment when I will know, relative to a strike against Iran, that Israel has won, yet one more time.

You may soon have to give your DNA to the state… and pay $250 for the privilege!

Arizona could soon be one of the first states to maintain a massive statewide DNA database. -- And if the proposed legislation passes, many people — from parent school volunteers and teachers to real estate agents and foster parents — will have no choice but to give up their DNA. -- Under Senate Bill 1475, DNA must be collected from anyone who has to be fingerprinted by the state for a job, to volunteer in certain positions or for a myriad of other reasons.

Rats begin leaving the UK Labour ship — but how much of a health risk do they pose?

Stuart Littlewood says the seven Labour Party deserters – small fry compared to the Gang of Four of 1981 – are nothing without the party’s help and the party’s brand, but may “serve as a magnet for other malcontents with little regard for British interests, only their own warped ambition”. >>

Makes TOTAL sense! Illinois Gunman Illegally Armed, So Media Demands More Gun Control...

An estimated 100 million American gun owners, including some 17.5 million people who are licensed to carry, didn’t hurt anybody in Aurora. But the Sun-Times editorial ignores that in favor of increased restrictions on the exercise of a fundamental right by millions of citizens.

After the Trade War, a Real War With China?

Our sudden hostility to China reflects a consensus – at least within the Washington Beltway – that we need to wrestle China to the ground and pin it there. But what are the chances we can do that? What are the consequences of attempting it? Where are we now headed with China?

Realism is out of fashion in Washington even if it’s alive and well elsewhere in America. It should give us pause that our new enemy of choice is a very different, larger, and more dynamic country than any we have unbefriended before. China had a couple of bad centuries. But forty years ago, the Chinese Communist Party and government began to evolve what turned out to be a successful model of economic development that blended state capitalism with free enterprise. This unleashed the entrepreneurial talents of the Chinese people. The results have been staggering.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Folks, this is a very long read, but absolutely worth it, in terms of US/China/Taiwan relations, and how they might be bettered, or get completely nasty, if there is a war between the US and China over the future of Taiwan.

The verdict is in: Trump's a busted flush

If the analysis (by Ann Coulter and Pat Buchanan among others) of the latest Bill that Trump signed is accurate then indeed we can finally put the last nail in the coffin of the Trump Revolution. Because that Bill appears to expressly forbid the building of The Wall, contains a de facto amnesty and opens the door to massive future immigration abuse through 'family reunion', 'legal immigration' and other such loopholes. Nothing has been done about the H1B visa scam which is devastating the employment prospects of American STEM graduates and changing forever the demographic profile of the country.

Don’t expect apologies from the left over Jussie Smollett ‘attack’ fraud

This week, now that the Chicago Police Department has “shifted the trajectory of the investigation” and now believes Jussie Smollett may have faked his own bias attack, we’ll be hearing apologies from a lot of progressive activists, celebrities and politicians.

With three simple words, they’ll disarm their detractors, pour oil on troubled waters. They’ll help to reunify a culture by admitting that sometimes their ideological opponents are correct.

Just kidding. Don’t hold your breath waiting for mea culpas from Cory Booker, Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and Kamala Harris, or (throwback time!) Al Sharpton, who opined that if Donald Trump simply remained silent on the Smollett matter, it would be sinister. The formerly successful actress Ellen Page blamed the nonexistent assault on … Mike Pence.

Trump: Venezuelan Military Members Must Abandon Maduro or ‘Lose Everything’

Delivering another speech in support of Venezuela regime change during his visit to Miami on Monday, President Trump warned Venezuelan military members will “lose everything,” and find “no safe harbor” anywhere in the world if they continue to defy US expectations.

For weeks, Trump has endorsed opposition leader Juan Guaido as the rightful ruler of Venezuela. In practice, President Maduro remains in power, and still has overwhelming loyalty among the military leadership. Officials have conceded that without a shift in the military, an actual regime change is unlikely.

Which is where Trump’s threats come in. Though some in the administration are arguing Trump was referring to secret Venezuelan military official money stashes worldwide, the reality is that most have little but their future and their lives, and that’s what Trump is saying they’ll lose, reiterating that all options are on the table.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Really, Mr. President?!?

Have we, under your watch, devolved from being a nation of laws, which comports itself in a reasonable and sane manner in its dealings with the international community, to a nation of threats, as were heard last weekend in Warsaw against Iran, and yesterday, in your speech to the military officers of Venezuela?!?

Unfortunately, "workable, subtle solutions" are absolutely not hardwired into your DNA, sir.

Do you have any bit of understanding, how bad the optics looked in both cases, to the international community, and voters here at home?!?

Sir, in these two cases, you have truly become a caricature of a world leader who cannot lead by inspiration, but is pushed by desperation (and the Neocons, who have never really gone away) to make some very horrible choices in terms of US foreign policy, which we may all soon come to regret.

It has become very painfully clear to me, and to others who initially believed that you would be a better choice than would have Clinton in 2016, that in the end, again...yet...still... we were only voting for, and supporting, what we believed to be "the lesser of two evils".

How history will judge your presidency remains left to be seen; but sir, I sincerely doubt it will be kind to your "legacy" for this country.

Great Civilizations Aren’t Murdered, They Commit Suicide: The U.S.’s Likely Collapse

If humanity could awaken to what the government really is (master that owns them) and take the blinders off put there by those who call themselves the government, we could all have a bright future. The government has painted themselves as some sort of religious fairy tale set out to save everyone and keep them safe. Once people realize the truth and claim ownership over themselves.

USSR’s First Aerial Tramway Still In Use After Nearly 60 Years

The mining town of Chiatura, Georgia, surrounded by steep cliffs, is criss-crossed by a network of aging Soviet-era aerial tramways that are still in use today.
In the 1950s, planners began work on what locals call the "Kanatnaya Doroga," or "rope road," that still connects almost every corner of the town. Today, while some of the cars have rusted away, 17 of the aging tramways remain in service and localsride them daily.
