On Kalief Browder Way: This Happens Every Day

Thursday, on what would have been his 24th birthday, an intersection in the Bronx was renamed in honor of Kalief Browder, the 16-year-old African-American boy flung into New York’s grisly Rikers Island Prison in 2010 after he was wrongly accused of stealing a backpack and his family couldn’t raise bail. At Rikers, known as a de-facto “penal colony” for its brutal conditions, Kalief endured three years of “documented torture,” including two years in solitary, at the hands of both guards and fellow inmates.

Currently, the debate about internet freedom is centered around the concept of net neutrality.

Bahrainis hold more anti-regime rallies nationwide

People in Bahrain hold more rallies nationwide in protest at the Manama regime’s recent bloodshed in the besieged village of Diraz, which is home to the spiritual leader of the country’s Shia majority, Sheikh Isa Qassim.

On May 23, Bahraini forces raided Diraz, which has been under a military siege for almost a year, and stormed into the home of Sheikh Qassim.

During the raid, regime forces killed at least five demonstrators, wounded dozens and arrested over 280 people during the crackdown on Diraz, which took place shortly after a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifah in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The question of why President Trump is so excellent at making such horrifically bad choices in foreign policy in the Middle East just gives me nightmares.

He's cosied up to one of the worst suppressors of human rights in the region,AKA Saudi Arabia; selling them bombs with which to continue their genocide in Yemen, and ultimately start a war against Iran, which has done absolutely nothing wrong, except develop a truly moderate, Constitutional Muslim democracy, and be the alleged "existential threat" claimed by both Israel and Saudi Arabia.

And the Al Khalifa monarchy in Bahrain?!? Please, don't get me started!!

The Sunni monarchy has been mercilessly persecuting peaceful Shiia protestors who are advocating for a Constitutional Monarchy; they have been jailed, tortured into confessions for crimes they have not committed; convicted by kangaroo courts and given long prison sentences.

Even the first responders who treated these protestors from their injuries and wounds by the Bahraini police have been jailed, tortured, convicted of crimes they did not commit, and committing them to long prison sentences as well.

I have warned the Bahraini government over the years on this blog, that if there was no attempt to achieve a political compromise with their Shiite citizens, there would be a tipping point, and we may well be looking at that tipping point right now.

And it may come at such a price that there will be a violent revolution against the monarchy, and whoever will be in control will be virulently anti-American, because of this country's wholehearted support of this wretched, tone-deaf monarchy, and its government.

At that point, the US 5th Fleet, which is hosted by Bahrain, may well have to find a new home.

US nuclear fuel fire may lead to much larger disaster than Fukushima: Study

A new US study has found that government agencies have undermined the risks to the country’s nuclear safety, warning that a single nuclear fuel fire may lead to a disaster “much greater than [Japan’s] Fukushima.”

If spent fuel at one of America’s dozens of nuclear sites is set on fire, it “could dwarf the horrific consequences of the Fukushima accident,” researchers from Princeton University and the Union of Concerned Scientists cautioned in a study published in the Friday issue of Science Magazine, censuring the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for ignoring the potential danger.

Such a disaster, it said, would lead to “trillion-dollar consequences,” as the hypothetical fire would lead to the contamination of a region larger than the northeast state of New Jersey and compel mass relocations.

Webmaster's Commentary:

With a serious deterioration of facilities like Hanford in Washington State, Congress needs to start taking care of the people they allegedly represent, by making sure that critical infrastructure, like the country's nuclear facilities are upgraded and cared for.

Unfortunately, with such a huge portion of Trump's 2018 budget dedicated to the military, I don't think this will happen before it is too late to address the problem.

Nancy Pelosi complains Trump not visiting countries in alphabetical order

Has Nancy Pelosi completely lost her mind? Or does she just have to complain about everything President Trump does?

During a press briefing on Thursday, the House Minority Leader criticized the president’s choice of visiting Saudi Arabia first during his inaugural foreign trip.

“I thought it was unusual for the President of the United States to go to Saudi Arabia first. Saudi Arabia!” Pelosi said.

“It wasn’t even alphabetical. I mean, Saudi Arabia.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

To those who Congresswoman Pelosi allegedly represents in the 12th District; this woman is getting progressively more confused, irritable, and ever more illogical.

And if she doesn't get why President Trump went first to Saudi Arabia, I would be very happy to explain to her why; it was the huge weapons deal he pulled off there.

She has become a complete embarrassment to Congress and to those she allegedly represents.

The California DNC should be talking about replacing her for the next election cycle, and quickly.

US PLANS FIRST TEST OF ICBM INTERCEPT, WITH NKOREA ON MIND

Preparing for North Korea's growing threat, the Pentagon will try to shoot down an intercontinental-range missile for the first time in a test next week. The goal is to more closely simulate a North Korean ICBM aimed at the U.S. homeland, officials said Friday

The American interceptor has a spotty track record, succeeding in nine of 17 attempts since 1999. The most recent test, in June 2014, was a success, but that followed three straight failures. The system has evolved from the multibillion-dollar effort triggered by President Ronald Reagan's 1983 push for a "Star Wars" solution to ballistic missile threats during the Cold War - when the Soviet Union was the only major worry.

North Korea is now the focus of U.S. efforts because its leader, Kim Jong Un, has vowed to field a nuclear-armed missile capable of reaching American territory. He has yet to test an intercontinental ballistic missile, or ICBM, but Pentagon officials believe he is speeding in that direction.

Webmaster's Commentary:

But what is the US military actually able to do about the interceptor's miserable failure rate?!?

This will do absolutely nothing unless it is completely accurate in its interception process, and it looks to me as though it is going to need far more intense engineering, and time, to get these units fully operational.

UN alarm over conditions for Palestinian prisoners

The United Nations has called Israel to improve conditions for Palestinians in custody, expressing alarm over reports of "punitive measures by Israeli authorities" against hundreds of prisoners who are on hunger strike for nearly 40 days.

More than 1,500 prisoners launched the action on April 17 to press for an end to administrative detention and solitary confinement, as well as longer and more regular family visits, landlines installed in prisons and better healthcare.

The protest has continued without resolution and the health of hundreds of participating prisoners has began to "deteriorate significantly," Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, the UN high commissioner for human rights, said in a statement on Wednesday.

"I am especially alarmed by reports of punitive measures by the Israeli authorities against the hunger strikers, including restricted access to lawyers and the denial of family visits," Zeid said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When these men start to die (and some of them will, even with NG feeding), the Palestinian blowback against Israel may take a very dark, violent turn here.

The bottom line here, when it comes to Palestinian prisoners, there are no standard rules of law, to which truly civilized countries adhere.

"Secret evidence" and indefinite detention is unacceptable, in most judicial practices around the world; it should be unacceptable against Palestinian prisoners as well.

Arms Deal Stories Omit War Crimes Arms Will Be Used For

The Trump administration wrapped up a weapons deal with the Saudi Arabian government this week that will be worth up to $350 billion over the next ten years. News of the deal came as Trump visited Riyadh and paid fealty to one of the United States’ most enduring allies in the Middle East.

The vast majority of the reports on the topic, however, omitted a rather key piece of context—namely, whom the weapons will be used to kill.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These weapons will be used to complete the Saudi genocide in Yemen, and ultimately, the US and Israel are planning to use Saudi Arabia as a proxy force for a war against the Iranians.

Of course, the gorilla, napping, splayed out all over the Bosendorfer Grand Piano, is Russia; Russian civilian and military leadership has consistently promised Iran that it will come to its aid if it is attacked militarily.

A war against Russia over Iran?!?!?

Folks, this potential scenario is just about as serious as is a heart attack, and my assessment is that it is coming, sooner, rather than later.

That President Trump has thrown the US's lot in with a country with so vile a human rights record, that it makes Attila the Hun look downright compassionate in comparison, just boggles the mind.

But of course, both Israel and the Saudi government want regime change in Tehran, so, that is precisely what President Trump is going to attempt to get them, even though a war against Iran will most likely mean war with Russia.

And such a war is a war that the US military might not be able to win, because at this time in its history, the US military doesn't have the weaponry, the money, the troop strength, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war against Russia.

Masked gunmen kill 28 in attack on Christians in Egypt

Gunmen attacked a group of Coptic Christians travelling to a monastery in central Egypt on Friday, killing 28 people and wounding 24, with many children among the victims, Health Ministry officials said.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, which came on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan. It followed a series of church bombings claimed by Islamic State in a campaign of violence against the Copts.

Islamic State supporters reposted videos from earlier this year urging violence against the Copts in Egypt.

Eyewitnesses said masked men opened fire after stopping the Christians, who were in a bus and other vehicles. Local TV channels showed a bus apparently raked by gunfire and smeared with blood.

Clothes and shoes could be seen lying in and around the bus, while the bodies of some of the victims lay in the sand nearby, covered with black sheets.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In the US, being a Christian is generally not hazardous to one's health; unfortunately in other countries, like Egypt, it can mean a death sentence for you and your family.

Iraqi troops torture and execute civilians in secret videos

Officers of an elite Iraqi special forces unit, praised by U.S. military commanders earlier this year for its role in fighting ISIS, directed the torture and execution of civilians in Mosul in at least six distinct incidents caught on tape.

“That's a murder,” retired Green Beret Lt. Col. Scott Mann told ABC News after reviewing the graphic footage. “There should be punishment for anyone doing it. It's reprehensible and it shouldn't be allowed on any modern battlefield."

The alarming footage was smuggled out of Iraq by a prize-winning Iraqi photojournalist, Ali Arkady, who spent months embedded in combat with the elite Iraqi troops leading the fight against ISIS late last year. Since turning over his cache of photos and videos to ABC News, he says he has received death threats from the soldiers he once considered friends and has now fled Iraq to seek asylum in Europe.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Apparently, these Iraqi military personnel learned, and absorbed, the lessons of Abu Ghraib extraordinary well.

US Torture of Iraqi prisoners of war at Abu Ghraib

Of course, the Iraqi government is vehemently denying this:Iraq's Interior Minister issues a video to prove that torture claims are "incorrect".

Unfortunately, there are way too many eye-witness accounts of such events happening for it not to be true.

US Bombs East Syria Village Second Day in a Row, Over 115 Civilians Killed

The US has been killing a soaring number of civilians in airstrikes in recent months, occasionally admitting to incidents, but generally keeping up the pretense of “enormous care” taken to not kill even more. While the Pentagon insists targeting rules have not been relaxed, the soaring death toll is clearly raising doubts about US policy.

That today’s attack killed a lot of ISIS family members is likely to add to questions, particularly as President Trump openly advocated killing family members of terrorists as part of the war, complaining that the lack of family killing amounted to a “very politically correct war.” That’s one thing President Trump won’t be accused of, given the number of civilians he’s having killed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump's advocacy of the assassination of family members of ISIS (including, I would imagine, women, children, and the medically fragile elderly) very much reminds me of the statement made by the Papal Legate, overseeing the Papal war against the Cathars at the siege of Montsegur in France.

Upon being informed that women and children were also holed up with the men being besieged, his response was, "Kill them all: God will find his own."

MICROSOFT WARNS OF ‘ORWELLIAN FUTURE’ AS WIKILEAKS EXPOSES PARTICIPATION WITH SURVEILLANCE

Recently, an installment of WikiLeaks’ Vault7 documents came to light that exposed two CIA malware programs that specifically infect Microsoft computers with the purpose of carrying out tasks on infected computers, checking for scheduled events, and collecting data.

The revelation put Microsoft in the hot seat, with people speculating that the tech giant may have been aware that the CIA works with features specifically built into Microsoft computers to collect data and perform tasks.

Microsoft’s history would suggest the worst, from Edward Snowden’s 2013 leaks that revealed Microsoft had “collaborated closely with US intelligence services to allow users’ communications to be intercepted, including helping the National Security Agency to circumvent the company’s own encryption,” to the NSA bragging about their newly acquired ability to triple the amount of Skype video calls being collected through Prism just nine months after Microsoft bought Skype.

Webmaster's Commentary:

BOSTON BOMBING: FATHER OF CHECHEN KILLED BY FBI SUES OVER 2013 DEATH

The family of Ibragim Todashev, who was shot at least six times by an FBI agent in his Orlando apartment during a routine interrogation in May 2013, is suing federal and state parties they believe to be responsible for the man’s death.

Todashev, who is believed to be an acquaintance of alleged Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev, was shot dead during an FBI interrogation in which he was questioned about the terror attack and possible involvement in a 2011 triple murder.

After examining autopsy photos of his son’s body forwarded to him by one of Todashev’s friends, the man’s father claimed his son was shot “execution style,” including six times in the torso and once in the back of the head.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF, in fact, Todashev hurled a coffee table at these people, and tried to whack them with a metal broom, as police and FBI claim, where is the photographic evidence of this which should be producible by the police and the FBI?!?

Did it "conveniently disappear", or did it never actually happen?!?

We will never really know, but the bottom line here is that this death reeks of coverup; most likely, Todashev knew something that would be damaging to the government's narrative on the Tsarnaev brothers, shared it, and was extrajudicially assassinated for it, before the information could get out.

Security services missed five opportunities to stop the Manchester bomber

The Manchester suicide bomber was repeatedly flagged to the authorities over his extremist views, but was not stopped by officers, it emerged Wednesday night.

Counter Terrorism agencies were facing questions after it emerged Salman Abedi told friends that “being a suicide bomber was okay”, prompting them to call the Government’s anti-terrorism hotline.

Sources suggest that authorities were informed of the danger posed by Abedi on at least five separate occasions in the five years prior to the attack on Monday night.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As I said in a post yesterday, there are only three possible reasons for this man not getting stopped stopped before carrying out this horrific bombing.

The first is that MI 5 is a bunch of incompetent, professionally impotent imbeciles; but I think the second is perhaps closer to the truth, and that is because the British Deep State wanted something like this to happen, to "numb" their citizens to more of these events taking place, and use the crisis to justify even more draconian surveillance, and a death-grip on the internet in the UK.

Theresa May wants sweeping new powers to control the internet

And post-Manchester, she also wants to ban cryptography outright in the UK.UK Tories say they'll exploit Manchester's dead to ban working crypto in the UK

The third reason would be to to create support for further British military intervention in the Middle East.

Attacks like this, across Europe, have become very unacceptable "cost of doing business" for the financial empires involved in many Middle Eastern countries, like the UK and the US governments.

And the cycle goes like this; publicly accuse a country of something it did not do (Like Hussein's allegedly having "weapons of mass destruction" in Iraq); invading; assassinating and regime-changing its government, making sure it is as western-centric as possible; occupy; expropriate resources to which the invaders have utterly no moral right; and sell those resources only in appropriate currencies, to appropriate countries.

Repeat.

I would never condone this horrific act; as a Christian witness, and Christian pacifist activist, I condemn all violence, and my thoughts and prayers are with all the victims of this attack, their families, and their friends.

But that being said, those in the bowels of power in both the US and UK magically believe that ultimately, their wars of occupation and plunder will not create a reaction in those people whose families have been maimed and displaced; disowned; thrown in to abject poverty through regime change and war; and no longer in control of their countries any more.

Also, at the end of the day, those in the bowels of power in the West, believe, as an absolute article of faith, that these people have absolutely no right to the rage and emotional misery at these actions, which have been taken against them, and their brother and sister citizens, has caused.

Until, that is, we get a terrible incident like Manchester.

And let's call this by its proper name: blowback, in the face of empires which are too busy counting and acquiring the spoils of war to care what it has done to the people of the countries where those spoils of war come from.

EU NIGHTMARE: Brussels could face another Dutch election as coalition talks crumble again

BRUSSELS could face the nightmare prospect of another Dutch general election after a second round of talks on forming a coalition government ended without agreement today.

Four of the country’s main parties, including prime minister Mark Rutte’s conservatives (VVD), agreed to break off the negotiations after no progress was made on key issues.

The Netherlands has now gone 70 days without a government since March’s crunch election, which provided the EU with temporary relief when the eurosceptic Geert Wilders failed to make significant gains.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem with the way the EU is structured is that it was never engineered to be fully sustainable.

Yes, American leaks are bloody annoying but the blame for missing the glaring red flags that should have identified the Manchester bomber before he could commit mass-murder lie much closer to home

I didn’t think I could ever feel angrier than I did on Tuesday when I first heard an ISIS suicide bomber had deliberately targeted, murdered and maimed young girls as they left a pop concert.

It’s impossible to imagine a more heinous, sickening and pathetically cowardly act on so many vulnerable, innocent and defenceless people.

Yet today my initial rage has manifested into cold fury and revulsion that the medieval barbarian who committed this atrocity wasn’t stopped long before he ever had the chance to detonate his death and destruction.

SYRIA - TRUTH SLIPS THROUGH IN THE NEW YORK TIMES - NATO PREPS TO FIGHT IRAN AND RUSSIA

The Islamic proxy forces of the "west", al-Qaeda under its various disguises, Ahar al-Sham and even ISIS are mostly done. The latest especially is no longer a capable military force but is reverting to guerilla levels of operation. Its final defeat will take a long time but it must and will be achieved by local forces.

Despite that the U.S. pressed on NATO members to let the NATO organization join its "fight against ISIS". The single NATO members were already part of the U.S. coalition. But NATO as an organization brings large scale command and control capabilities as well as additional resources. (All under U.S. control.)

Webmaster's Commentary:

A larger, regional, if not world war, is coming; we have been in the opening phases of that war for some time now, even though few will acknowledge it.

I am reminded of the second Sherlock Holmes movie, "A Game of Shadows", where the evil Moriarty makes the observation that war is coming, and he has the "lock" on both the bullets and the bandages: so it is with the West's military/industrial complex, which has metaphorically punctured President Trump's throat; swallowed whatever morality President Donald Trump ever had before he took his Oath of Office, and replaced it with the pure, immoral venom of war.

That President Trump has thrown America's lot in with Saudi Arabia, coupled with the huge arms deal he just signed off on, is appalling to me, on every possible level.

This, for a country where its human rights record makes Attila the Hun look downright compassionate in comparison?!?

There is utterly no doubt in my mind that some of those arms will be used to finish the Saudi's on-going genocide in Yemen, then be used against Iran, which is both Saudi Arabia's and Israel's "alleged existential threat" in the region.

And why?!? Because, since the revolution in 79, it has become a moderate, flourishing constitutional Islamic republic, where the rights of religious minorities are protected, and its people are succeeding.

Oh, and don't forget; Israel's government got a little "antsy" over the Saudi deal, so President Trump has just OK'd another $75 million dollars more for "Israeli defense", over and above the $38 billion dollar, 10 year deal deal, signed in December of last year.

PM says US agreed to boost Israel military aid amid concern over Saudi deal

So I give you President Donald "Moriarty" Trump, who firmly believes war is good for business, because our weapons are the only things people from other countries want to buy; and so, war is what he shall have.

Never mind that the US and its allies may well not win this war, particularly against Russia, because this country doesn't have the weaponry; the money, the troop strength; or the manufacturing to insure a victory in a conventional war against Russia.

THE TRUTH ABOUT MEMORIAL DAY

Since World War II, the stupid cliche of "thank our veterans for our freedom" was unofficially attached to the day. Of course, American haven't died in defense of freedom since the complicated and nuanced Civil War -- with northerners dying to remain free of the dangers of a Rothschild-divided America; and southerners dying for the right of state sovereignty.
So, this Memorial Day, with all due respect to the veterans, let us dispense with all this "thank you for our freedom" bullshit and declare a more historically accurate "gratitude" to the deserving parties (cough cough).

Secretary of Defense James Mattis’s Iraq “War Crimes”

March 1, 2017

Retired Marine General James Mattis, a man who has served over forty years in the Marine Corps, was sworn in as the US Secretary of Defense in January 2017. Before his confirmation, he was under public scrutiny—for instance, for his controversial comments on “political Islam” at the Heritage Foundation in 2015—but, Dahr Jamail reports, the bigger concern is that Mattis “is clearly responsible for carrying out and/or aiding and abetting in several war crimes.”

The November 2005 Haditha massacre was well documented and received international attention, even if Mattis’s role in it has been largely forgotten. After a roadside bomb attack on a Marine convoy, a group of American soldiers rounded up 24 unarmed Iraqi civilians—including women, children, and elderly people—and shot them numerous times at close range. When the Marines were brought to trial, Mattis was the authority that dismissed the charges against them.

The Donald Meets Sun Tzu and is Found Wanting

Some two thousand and five hundred years ago one of my favorite strategic analysts, a Chinese general and Imperial Adviser, Sun Tzu, wrote his tiny but historic text, The Art of War. It’s used today as essential reading all over the world, including by students at the US West Point military academy, the incubator for America’s future generals. In his treatise Sun Tzu describes five essential qualities needed in a successful leader, in his case, a successful general.

The qualities apply to anyone in a position of leadership responsibility. The problem is not Donald Trump. The problem is that we, American citizens, blinded ourselves by wishful thinking that finally someone would stand up and 2make America great again.”

‘ISRAEL DOESN’T NEED GREEN LIGHT FROM WASHINGTON FOR SETTLEMENT BUILDING’

A day after Trump left the Jewish state, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman confidently stated that Israel doesn't need White House approval if it wants to continue building.

Israel doesn’t need permission from Washington to build homes in West Bank settlements, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman said on Wednesday, adding that plans for several thousand units could be advanced in two weeks.

“We didn’t ask for a green light, and we won’t ask for a green light [from the US].

US ‘Non-Combat’ Troops in Firing Range of ISIS Fighters in Iraq

The ever-growing number of US special forces engaging in direct combat notwithstanding, the Pentagon is ever determined to portray their thousands of normal troops that are deployed in Iraq, are purely “non-combat” in nature, and that they are engaged in advisory and training operations.

Which has never really been true, and is getting increasing less true all the time, as ground troops continue to get closer and closer to direct combat operations, and are now is Mosul, firing mortars at ISIS fighters who can be no more than a mile and a half away.

It’s difficult to reckon exactly what “in combat” means anymore, since the Pentagon is forever trying to define combat-seeming exercises as something short of that. Still, firing mortars certainly isn’t a “training exercise,” and if they are within firing range of ISIS, ISIS is within firing range of them

Webmaster's Commentary:

Prediction; no matter how the Pentagon characterises this, and other, deployments to Iraq, the US military is most probably never leaving completely.

Brazil's Temer Deploys Army as Protesters Battle Police

- Protesters demanding the resignation of Brazilian President Michel Temer staged running battles with police and set fire to a ministry building in Brasilia on Wednesday, prompting the scandal-hit leader to order the army onto the streets.

Police unleashed volleys of tear gas, stun grenades and rubber bullets to halt tens of thousands of protesters as they marched towards Congress to call for Temer's ouster and an end to his austerity program.

Masked protesters fired powerful fireworks at police, set ablaze furniture in the Agriculture Ministry, and sprayed anti-Temer graffiti on government buildings.

It was the most violent protest in Brasilia since anti-government demonstrations in 2013 and fueled a political crisis sparked by allegations Temer condoned paying off a potential witness in a massive corruption probe.

The scandal has raised chances Brazil could see a second president fall in less than a year.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I don't see this ending well for President Temer, particularly if he has called out the Brazilian Army against the demonstrators.

I hope and pray that there can be a peaceful resolution of these issues, with Temer making the choice to step down, but I don't see this coming.

The big question here is, how long is the Army going to stay loyal to the existing government?!?

Iranian Drones Circling Above US Aircraft Carrier 'Getting on Pentagon's Nerves'

Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles are said to have become a fixture in the skies above the USS George H.W. Bush deployed to the Persian Gulf to take part in Washington's anti-Daesh efforts in the Middle East, political analyst Ilya Plekhanov wrote for Sputnik, adding that these surveillance missions have gotten on the Pentagon's nerves.

"Americans use this aircraft carrier to carry out airstrikes against Daesh targets in Iraq and Syria. Iranians use their drones to observe these operations, irritating US troops who are unable to do anything about it since they are in international waters," the analyst said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I certainly hope that no Naval commander in the Persian Gulf is going to go "all cowboy" on these Iranian drone deployments, and decide he's going to shoot them out of the sky "to teach those danged Iranians a lesson", despite the reality that the ships are sailing in international waters.

That huge weapons deal which President Trump has just inked with Saudi Arabia, coupled with the increase in funds for US defensive (and in their case, offensive) weapons capabilities to Israel, should be giving giving the Iranian government pause right now, in terms of defending itself from a proxy US/Saudi/Israeli attack against it, and just what Russia is prepared to do to prevent this from being successful, if such a thing actually happens.

If I were Iranian President Rouhani right now, I would be picking up a hot line to Russia's President Putin, and having a serious conversation about this possibility.

US grants Israel extra defence aid: Netanyahu

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Washington has added tens of millions of dollars in extra defence aid for Israel, a day after US President Donald Trump wound up a visit.

He did not say over what timeframe the money would be disbursed. The addition comes on the heels of a weekend announcement of a massive US-Saudi arms deal.

Under a 2016 agreement, Washington already bankrolls Israel's military spending to the tune of $3.8 billion dollars annually over 10 years, making the Jewish state the top recipient of US assistance.

"Three days ago, the US added another $75 million to the aid package for the missile defence programme," Netanyahu said at a memorial ceremony for Israel's dead in the 1967 Six-Day War.

He did not elaborate.

Israel relies heavily on US military aid. Its total defence budget amounts to some $16 billion, excluding US assistance.

‘Furious’ British Police Suspend Intelligence Sharing with United States Following Manchester Bombing Leaks

The world’s closest intelligence sharing arrangement is in jeopardy after key details and photographs from the Manchester bombing were apparently leaked by United States’s law enforcement sources to domestic journalists, leaving Manchester Police and the British government — who are collecting and analysing the finds — “furious”.

The United Kingdom has now stopped passing intelligence gathered as part of the investigation into the Manchester bombing to the United States according to claims made by the British state broadcaster BBC.

While British police had discovered the identity of Salman Abedi, the suicide bomber who killed 22 in Manchester on Monday, the name was withheld from the media initially for operational reasons. Yet less than 24 hours after the attack took place, American newspapers citing “government sources” were able to name the attacker.

Hannity says liberal fascists after sponsors; 1 is leaving

Sean Hannity says a media watchdog is guilty of “liberal fascism” for targeting advertisers on his Fox News Channel show, as one company announced Wednesday that it would no longer hawk its wares there.

The Chicago-based Cars.com said that it had been “watching closely” and recently decided to suspend its backing of Hannity.

Hannity, the sole survivor from Fox’s once stable and powerful prime-time lineup, has been a strong backer of President Donald Trump and believes the president is under attack from media and opponents who want to destroy him. On Wednesday, Hannity said he would no longer talk about a discredited story involving a murdered Democratic National Committee chairman after speaking to the man’s family, and after Fox had earlier retracted an online story it had written about the case.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Welcome to our world, Mr. Hannity.

Right after the alleged suicide of Vincent Foster, my husband, Mike, asked a very logical question about the appearance of the body, in the image released by the White House to the press.

He was working at a visual effects house, in the same building in which CNN's office in LA was located. At lunch, he shared a screen cap of the image with some friends, and noticed that the CNN people were listening to what he had to say very intently.

The bottom line was, if Foster had killed himself the way the Clinton White House said it happened, with a gunshot to the mouth, there would have been blood everywhere; but there was no blood whatsoever. The image was staged and faked.

Within 24 hours after that, Mike not only lost his job for absolutely no good reason; then, the death threats started, as Mike had a publicly listed phone number, because he wanted potential employers to know how to find him.

And not only was he fired, but also, every computer animation company in the greater LA area was told to NOT hire him, and that all of his demo reel was work stolen from other people.

I am one of the most logical, pragmatic Americans, Mr. Hannity, you could ever meet. Had you told me that this could have happened in 20th century America, before we lived through this, I would have laughed out loud, and dismissed it out of hand.

Liberal fascists are brilliantly adept at character assassination, when physical assassination is...impractical. But we both know that we are lucky to be alive, given the Clinton Cartel's penchant for the later:

What is Operation Temperer: Theresa May becomes first PM to deploy up to 5,000 soldiers on streets

Theresa May’s unprecedented decision to deploy up to 5,000 armed troops at key strategic sites makes her the first Prime Minister to use a new plan for a show of force in the face of major terrorist threats.

It puts her at odds with her predecessor David Cameron who was reluctant to use the controversial power.

Operation Temperer - the government plan to put thousands of soldiers on the streets in response to a major terrorist threat, was devised in 2015 and had been a secret until it was accidentally leaked to a newspaper.

Whitehall officials had been keen to keep it under wraps because it was considered so sensitive.

David Cameron was fearful that implementing the plan would provoke comparisons to the Troubles in Northern Ireland, when British soldiers patrolled the streets for decades.

He also worried that it might give the impression that the government had lost control and was imposing martial law.

Webmaster's Commentary:

But the question one has to ask here, is will this program actually keep Brits more safe?!?

And please remember: the Manchester bomber was known to MI 5 long before he bombed the arena.

HOW THE BRITISH DEEP STATE TURNED MANCHESTER INTO AL-QAEDA TOWN UK

Anti-Gaddafi Libyans living in Manchester had been trained, armed and aided by Britain to wage jihad against the leadership of Muammar Gaddafi.

More and more information is emerging on how the savage terrorist atrocity recently committed in Manchester was a classic case of terrorist blow-back, a phenomenon describing how when western governments fund, arm and aid terrorists, they often come back to commit horrific crimes against the citizens of the countries which funded and aided them.
It has been confirmed that the father of the Manchester ISIS bomber was a member of the al-Qaeda affiliated Libyan Islamic Fighting Group. The Libyan Islamic Fighting Group was initially comprised of battle hardened fighters who traveled to Afghanistan in the 1980s to fight the Soviet Union and the secular government in Kabul.

YET ANOTHER VIDEO SHOWS U.S.-FUNDED WHITE HELMETS ASSISTING PUBLIC EXECUTIONS IN REBEL-HELD SYRIA

Syria Civil Defense, popularly known as the White Helmets, can be seen in a new video assisting in a public execution in a rebel-held town in Syria. It is at least the second such execution video featuring members of the Nobel Prize-nominated group.

The White Helmets have received at least $23 million in funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), a wing of the State Department. The British Foreign Office and other European governments have pitched in as well.

Frequently cited as an invaluable source of information by major Western media outlets, the group was the subject of an Academy Award-winning 2016 Netflix documentary, The White Helmets.

Endorsements from A-list Hollywood celebrities like George Clooney and Justin Timberlake, as well as Hillary Clinton and British Foreign Minister Boris Johnson, have followed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

But this is the US-enabled "business as usual" in Syria.

And the Nobel Prize has become a complete and despicable joke, ever since it was awarded to Henry Kissinger.

UK TORIES SAY THEY'LL EXPLOIT MANCHESTER'S DEAD TO BAN WORKING CRYPTO IN THE UK

One of UK Prime Minister Theresa May's government ministers told a reporter from The Sun that the government is planning on invoking the "Technical Capabilities Orders" section of the Snoopers Charter, a 2016 domestic spying bill; the "orders" allow the government to demand that companies cease using working cryptography in their products and services, substituting it with deliberately defective code that can be broken.

The source told The Sun that the government would cite the Manchester bombing as pretense for invoking the orders, though there's no indication that the security services' failure to prevent the bombing was caused by their inability to pierce cryptographically protected communications.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The way Prime Minister May's government is taking advantage of this tragedy makes me absolutely sick, and reminds me of the saying attributed to Rahm Emanuel, when he was advisor to President Clinton: "Never let a good crisis go to waste!"

The Manchester incident is simply an "excuse/justification" to ram this law through.

There is no proof, whatsoever, at this point that cryptography was involved, or played a part, in any way, in this horrific bombing; and the real problem here, is that the "bad guys" already have unbreakable cryptography, which neither the US nor UK intelligence agencies can crack.

And to any corporations in the UK using cryptography to keep corporate information safe, move the hell out of this country while you still can, and make sure the reasons for your departure are very publicly known.

‘TRUCKLOADS’ OF US ARMS AND AMMO REACH KURDISH MILITIA IN SYRIA – REPORTS

Over 100 trucks loaded with US armaments and ammunition, including heavy mortars and anti-tank missiles, have reached the Kurdish controlled northern Syrian city of Hasakah over the past weeks, Turkish and Kurdish media report.
The US arms shipment was reserved for the multi-ethnic Syrian militia known as the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) dominated by Kurdish YPG units, according to the media reports.

The SDF is fighting Islamic State (IS, former ISIS/ISIL) and is preparing to launch an offensive on the city of Raqqa, considered to be the self-proclaimed capital of IS in Syria.

The trucks carrying the arsenal crossed into Syria from northern Iraq through the Simelka border crossing on two separate occasions on May 15 and May 20, Turkey's Daily Sabah reports.

The convoys reportedly moved to Hasakah and later headed to the Raqqa region where the SDF are currently battling Islamic State militants.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The question I would have to ask right now is, how long will Syria, Russia and Turkey allow this destabilisation to move forward in Syria?!?

Because the establishment of an independent Kurdistan will be seen as an existential threat by Turkey, who consider the Kurds an existential threat, and the Syrians and Russians, who don't dont want Syria having to yield one inch of its sovereign territory?!?

I don't know what the Vegas odds are on this, but I have to wonder; just when will American troops, fighting with the Kurds, be meeting up with Russian ground troops here?!?

Because my concern is, this is only a matter of when, not if, this happens, at this point.

MI5 FAILED TO STOP MANCHESTER BOMBER DESPITE ‘WARNINGS FROM FRIENDS’ – REPORT

A relative of the Manchester bomber warned British authorities he was “dangerous” and that he thought being a suicide bomber was “OK,” it has emerged, amid concerns that chances to stop him were missed.

On Monday night, Salman Abedi detonated a “highly sophisticated” nail bomb at Manchester Arena, killing 22 people including young children. Twenty people are in a critical condition in hospital. It was Britain’s worst terrorist attack since the 7/7 atrocity 12 years ago.

Abedi’s support for terrorism was reported this year to MI5, and five years ago friends had called Britain’s anti-terrorist hotline with concerns about his views, the Times reports.

It is unclear whether Abedi had been under any form of surveillance.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There are only two possible conclusions one can take away from this information.

Either that MI5 is a gang of bumbling, professionally impotent, inept, idiots; or they knew this might go down, but decided not to stop it in order to "numb" the British people to more of these attacks happening, as "the price of the British financial empire doing business" , and allowed it to happen, as a "justification" to surveille the British people more intensely, and create more draconian control of the internet.

There is no middle ground here, whatsoever.

And the bottom line here is, the people of the UK are being left completely unprotected from the blowback of the carnage their government has created in its actions against other countries, notably those in the Middle East and Africa.

To think that there will be utterly no consequences from invasions, and the accompanying murders, to expropriate resources to which the invading government, and its toady corporations, have no moral right; to regime change that government, making sure it is western-centric; and to insure that those resources will only be sold in specific currencies to specific countries, and not others, is absolute, utter, and complete madness.

And yet, this is the madness to which those in the bowels of power in the US, and UK cling, and use to "justify" their future military misadventures, ultimately causing the people of both countries to suffer.

So welcome to the "new normal" in the UK and Europe.

And unfortunately, I am very concerned that this kind of incident will continue, until someone in the governments of the US and UK has the horse-sense to start funding alternative energy that actually works, and can drive a tank, or power an airplane, making fossil fuel irrelevant.

Of course, that...would be logical.

CIVILIANS KILLED BY US LARGELY IGNORED AS ENDLESS GLOBAL WAR CONTINUES FROM

Contradicting a version of events presented by the U.S. military and reported widely by the corporate press, a human rights group and a journalist in Yemen are citing witnesses who said a raid by U.S. Navy SEALs on Monday night killed multiple innocent civilians and not just "Al Qaeda militants" as the Pentagon claimed.

"This new flawed raid by President Trump shows the US is not capable of distinguishing a terrorist from an innocent civilian."
—Kate Higham, Reprieve. Reprieve, a UK-based human rights group, cited witnesses from the village of Al-Jubah in Marib province, where the raid took place, and offered the names of five civilians killed as Nasser Ali Mahdi Al-Adhal; Al-Ghader Saleh Salem Al-Adhal; Saleh Al-Taffaf; Yasser Al-Taffaf Al-Adhel; and Shebreen Saeed Salem Al-Adhal.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"The medically fragile elderly, and infants, are ALWAYS Al Qaeda militants!" - Official US government souse.

But seriously, assassinating medically fragile elderly people, who are someone's grandpa, uncle, or dad, can be a wonderful recruiting tool to get more young men radicalised to the point of wanting to become jihadists in their own right.

It is a tool for creating perpetual war, and our military understand that; and yet, they keep doing it. And the most horrific thing about the US-enabled Saudi war against Yemen is, that the only possible answers have to be political rather than more warfare.

France’s Macron seeks to extend state of emergency to November

President Emmanuel Macron will ask France’s parliament to extend a state of emergency, in place since the 2015 attacks by Islamic State (IS) group militants, following this Monday’s suicide bombing in Manchester.

France’s new president said in a statement that he will ask lawmakers to prolong the measure from July 15, its current expiration date, until November 1. It would be the sixth extension of the state of emergency, which gives police exceptional powers.

He made the decision after a security meeting Wednesday in which top officials "studied the implications of this new terrorist attack on measures of protection to ensure the security of our compatriots".

The statement from the Elysée presidential palace once again noted “the bonds that unite France and the United Kingdom in the fight against terrorism”.

The Moral Myopia of Trump’s Foreign Policy

Saudi Arabia outlaws Christianity as a public practice. There are no Christian churches in Saudi Arabia, and it is against the law to build them. The Saudi Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice actually prohibits the practice of any religion other than Islam. Freedom House, a US government- funded NGO, has designated Saudi Arabia as the "worst of the worst." And lest anyone forget, 15 of the 19 hijackers who flew planes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, killing over 3,000 people, were Wahhabi Sunnis from Saudi Arabia. I wonder if Secretary of State Tillerson understands that the Saudi Kingdom openly violates religious freedom, freedom of the press, and basic inalienable human rights, especially for women.
