West, silent on Damascus shelling, threatens Ghouta action

France has joined the US and Britain in threatening Damascus with possible airstrikes in the event of further chemical weapons use in Syria.

Their threats on Friday came as terrorist groups continued shelling a safe corridor declared by the Syrian government for civilians to leave Eastern Ghouta.

Takfiri terrorists have turned the enclave on the suburbs of Damascus to a launch pad for mortar attacks on the Syrian capital.

The Syrian army is currently in the midst of an operation to drive the terrorists out of Eastern Ghouta, but it is facing a hostile West threatening attacks on Syrian troops which it accuses of targeting civilians.

Western leaders were quick to point the finger at the Syrian government after reports of chlorine release in Eastern Ghouta last week.

For years, foreign-backed militants have appeared to release chemical substances in the areas close to the site of government airstrikes and capture the aftermath on videos.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The logical question which one has to ask here, is why al-Assad be gassing and poisoning his own people, when his and Russia's forces are so close to a military victory against the jihadists?!?

And here's a companion piece from the English language version of sputniknews.com:

US will turn Ghouta into a Terrorist Stronghold - Syrian General.

The US cannot do this from the air, because of Russian air defense, but is doing it on the ground, where terrorist jihadists are laying seige to small cities, and using hostages as human shields.

The Shadow of an Israeli/US Attack on Lebanon and Syria Grows Larger by the Day

In Lebanon, the Prime Minister Saad Hariri has returned to Saudi Arabia to meet with his Saudi patrons for the first time since his shocking resignation on November 4, 2017, which he later withdrew. The timing of his visit suggests another anti-Iranian and anti-Hezbollah announcement will follow. Will Hariri issue another statement accusing Iran and Hezbollah of destabilizing Lebanon to add to the war rhetoric coming out of Israel at the same time that Lebanon is making a military agreement with Russia? The moves on the chessboard are happening fast and furious. Divide and conquer is clearly the strategy of Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the United States.

Iraqi Parliament Demands Timeline for US Withdrawal

The Iraqi parliament has passed a resolution this week thanking the US and other friendly nations for their support in defeating ISIS, and also demanding that the Abadi government set a strict timeline for the withdrawal of all foreign troops from the country.

Ruling coalition MP Husham al-Suhail insisted that parliament wasn’t trying to force any specific timeline on the deal, but wanted the government to make it clear, having declared victory, when the foreign troops would be gone.

That’s potentially going to be a problem though, because while the other nations are all making clear their presence is very temporary, the US has been very public from the start that this is a permanent deployment, and they don’t plan to ever leave.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I wonder just how long it will take for the guy who forced the US's hand in the original SOFA agreement between Iraq and the US to appear; where in the world is Moqtada Al Sadr these days?!?

Remember him?!? He was in charge of the Mahdi Army in Iraq, and was virulently anti-American. He stated that if the US violated the SOFA agreement by staying one day longer than stated in the document, our military would be sitting ducks for his Mahdi Army.

So they got out of Iraq - for the moment... before Isis came in, and the US military went back into Iraq.

Well, let me get back to Moqtada; he has been a busy guy, that's for sure. As reported at the Baghdad Post, January 18, 2018:

Sadirists Reveal New Coalition ahead of May 15th elections The article goes on to state:

"Istiqlal Party, affiliated with the Sadrist Movement, revealed on Thursday details of the coalition it has formed for the coming elections.

Member of the party's secretariat general Mohammed Rashk said that the party is aligning itself with the blocs that adopt the same platform based on rebuilding the institutions of the state and enforcing comprehensive reforms.

He added the coalition will be named "Those Marching Towards Reform".

Should Al Sadr's coalition win this election (and he is still wildly popular in Iraq) it would be an absolute game changer for Iraq; Israel; and the US government.

Israeli police question Netanyahu in third corruption case

Israeli police questioned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for five hours on Friday over what news reports said was his possible role in a far-reaching bribery scandal allegedly involving the granting of regulatory benefits worth millions of dollars to Israeli telecom giant Bezeq.

It is the first time that Netanyahu has been investigated in connection with this case, which is said to involve a quid pro quo arrangement of positive news coverage for the Netanyahu family on the popular Walla news website, owned by Bezeq’s majority shareholder, Shaul Elovitch.

The questioning came shortly before Netanyahu was scheduled to depart for the United States, where he is expected to visit President Trump at the White House on Monday.

This is the third, and possibly most serious, corruption case so far involving Netanyahu, Israel’s longest serving prime minister.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF this testimony becomes the "tipping point" on the way to an indictment for Netanyahu, we can expect that the timetable for all planned, overt and covert military actions against his neighbors in the Middle East, like Lebanon, Iran, and Syria, to accelerate exponentially.

Netanyahu is coming to the US to address AIPAC, and will also meet with President Trump. Later in the month, the Saudi Prince Salman, AKA the Butcher of Yemen, will also be coming to the US to meet with the President, and talk business.
Saudi Crown Prince Expectedc to Visit the US March 19th through the 22nd

There is a huge joint US/Israeli war game in Israel, simulating an intense bombing of Israel.
This drill is set to start next week, and it will last for a couple of weeks.

Should it appear that the excrement is about to hit the ventilation shaft, due to his legal troubles, how convenient for Netanyahu, should he decide to greenlight a "false flag" against any of the "usual suspects" (Syria; Iran; Lebanon),to have US troops right in place, pummelling Israel's "enemies du jour", right alongside the IDF as a distraction.

Satellite Images Reveal Iran Establishing Missile Base Near Damascus - Reports

Recent satellite imagery taken outside Syria's capital Damascus show that Iran has constructed a likely missile base that can strike anywhere in Israel, according to media reports.

The Iranian facility is operated by the Quds Force, known as the special operations force of the larger Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and is located approximately eight miles southwest of Damascus, Fox News reported on Tuesday.

In this photo released by the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard celebrate after launching a missile during their maneuver in an undisclosed location in Iran (File)

The media outlet said it acquired satellite photos from ImageSat International, which purportedly show two new white hangars, each roughly 30 yards by 20 yards, used to store short-and medium-range missiles, the report said.
Israel has repeatedly warned Iran that it will defend itself against any attack from the Islamic Republic.

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK, folks; a little logic here; why the blazes would Iran build an alleged missile base in Syria, when the country is still struggling for stability?!?

Would they not be concerned that such missiles could get into the hands of the jihadists who are still in that country, and used against both them and Syria government forces?!?

Each facility is about 90 square feet; that is a very small facility.

The Israelis can call these hangars anything they want; but at the end of the day, you have to have such missiles as close to the missile launching facility as safely possible.

So yes, where, please, is the missile launching facility from which these missiles can be launched?!?

The Iranian government and military may be many things, but stupid is not one of them.

Militants continue shelling humanitarian corridor from Eastern Ghouta — defense officialMore:http://tass.com/world/992100

Mortar shelling of the humanitarian corridor from Eastern Ghouta continued on Thursday, Major-General Vladimir Zolotukhin, a spokesman for the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria, told Russian reporters.

Civilians in Eastern Ghouta have been contacting Syrian human rights activists en masse asking for their assistance in leaving the territories seized by militants, he went on.

"According to the information, over the past 24 hours the number of requests from the citizens of Eastern Ghouta to the human rights activists has increased manyfold. They ask to provide assistance and help in leaving the territory controlled by the militants," Zolotukhin said.

Trump Hints at Tougher Punishment for Drug Dealers

U.S. President Donald Trump hinted at a much tougher policy toward drug dealers, during a White House summit on the nation's opioid crisis.

"Some countries have a tough penalty, the ultimate penalty, and they have much less of a drug problem than we do," Trump said at the Thursday event.

The comment appeared to be in line with a media report suggesting Trump is toying with the idea of supporting the death penalty for major drug trafficking offenses.

The report quoted an unnamed senior administration official who said the president often jokes about killing drug dealers.

"You know the Chinese and Filipinos don't have a drug problem. They just kill them," the senior administration official quoted Trump as saying.

During his event Thursday, Trump did not endorse the idea of the death penalty for drug traffickers.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President, a word here, please; has anyone in your administration mentioned the enormous success Portugal has had with its anti drug policy?!?

I hope someone who cares about any anti drug program introduced by his Administration being successful will mention this to President Trump.

In an eerie analogue of what is about to take place, on March 5, 2002 President George W. Bush imposed tariffs as high as 30% on global steel imports.

The temporary tariffs of 8–30% were originally scheduled to remain in effect until 2005. They were imposed to give U.S. steel makers protection from what a U.S. probe determined was a detrimental surge in steel imports, as more than 30 steel makers had recently declared bankruptcy. Canada and Mexico were exempt from the tariffs because of penalties the United States would face under NAFTA. Additionally, some developing countries such as Argentina, Thailand, and Turkey were also exempt.

The response was immediate.

Five days ago, IDEMIA announced their plan to install facial recognition cameras in rental vehicles.

IDEMIA and Omoove are combining forces to spy on car renters everywhere.

“You will never rent a car the same way thanks to EasyOpen solution that combines IDEMIA’s expertise in secure service enablement and Omoove’s experience in Shared Mobility platforms and on-board technology.”

They got one thing right, ‘you will never rent a car the same way’. Because now companies will use facial biometrics to spy on your family vacations, shopping, dining etc., in real-time.

“This year, both companies have just announced the introduction of a new process for the digital enrollment of the driver combined with facial recognition technology, which will be implemented into EasyOpen solution.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

The next "big thing" in this kind of technology, will be software which can block it completely... for a price.

Two members of Congress challenged the Trump Organization to explain whether or not it knew of allegations of drug trafficking and money laundering tied to the Trump Ocean Club Panama, according to a letter sent to the company’s general counsel Wednesday.

“Given widely reported allegations of money laundering and drug trafficking in connection with Trump Ocean Club Panama, we believe it is imperative to understand the Trump Organization’s knowledge of and role in sales at this property,” the letter sent to Trump Organization attorney Alan Garten read, according to a copy provided to Newsweek. Reuters first reported the letter Thursday morning.

The letter cited reports of agents involved in selling units at the Trump Ocean Club property also being linked to trafficking and laundering. Brazilian real estate salesman Alexandre Ventura Nogueira said he met with the president’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, in Panama City in 2006, NBC News/Reuters reported in November.

Webmaster's Commentary:

More distraction away from Hillarygate; a proper investigation has happened, and there, most likely, is no "there" there.

And from the New American comes a little companion piece, regarding Hillarygate, posted also at blacklistednews.com:

Russia Bragged about 10 Spies Assigned to Clintp Meuller, Mc Cabe, and Rosenstien helped cover it up.

The article goes on to state:

"In a case that resembles rats abandoning a sinking ship, long-time Clinton advisor and confidant Dick Morris admitted in a recent opinion piece he wrote for The Western Journal that in the buildup to the deal’s approval by CIFUS “nine investors in Uranium One gave the Clinton Foundation a combined total of $145 million.” Morris also wrote:

In the years before it came up for CIFUS approval, Russia deployed 10 spies in the United States with a single mission: To get close to Hillary Clinton to get her to approve the Uranium One deal.

Fortunately, the FBI uncovered the nest of spies one year before the deal came up for approval. (The Bureau acted to arrest the spies when it did because one of them had risen to a high position in a company owned by Hillary’s finance chairman.)

Then, to seal the deal, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin arranged for former president Bill Clinton to address the Renaissance Bank in Moscow, an institution closely connected to the Kremlin.

The New American has reported on the corruption, profiteering, and incestuous relationship between the Clinton State Department and Clinton Foundation in previous articles. Now, even a Clinton insider admits to Clinton’s actions in swelling the coffers of the Clinton Foundation while transferring at least 20 percent of U.S. uranium to Russia in a deal so crooked it would require a Clinton to pull it off. And Clinton, who is more than a little responsible for spawning investigations into Trump’s alleged dealings with Russia with her “Putin’s puppet” remarks during the campaign, now finds herself being outed by a former die-hard supporter.

The opinion piece of Morris stops short of making the connection, but it is obvious: Hillary Clinton was “Putin’s puppet” and the American people should thank God that she is not behind the desk in the Oval Office where she would be in a better position to do Russia’s bidding."

Schumer slammed for citing skin color in vote against white judicial nominee

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer faced a stern rebuke from congressional colleagues for citing skin color in voting against a white federal judge nominee earlier this week.

Schumer, D-N.Y., said on the Senate floor Wednesday that the nomination of Marvin Quattlebaum, a white lawyer who is a partner at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough in Greenville, S.C., “speaks to the overall lack of diversity in President Trump’s selections for the federal judiciary.”

Sen. Chuck Schumer on Wednesday rejected the Trump administration's nomination of Marvin Quattlebaum because he's white. Schumer argued the nomination "speaks to the overall lack of diversity in President Trump's selections for the federal judiciary."

He complained that many of Trump’s nominees have been white males. He also complained that Republicans previously held up two black judges nominated under the Obama administration for the position— which The Post and Courier notes has long been vacant.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Oh, really, Senator Schumer?!?

You're great at carping and critising President Trump for his alleged "lack of diversity"; but seriously, what have YOU been doing to make it easier for students of all minorities to find it easier to get into a prestigious law school; work in the judiciary; and get promoted up the ranks until they are ready to be presented as magnificently qualified candidates for the job in which the Senate just confirmed Quattlebaum?!?

I would bet a worthless US cent, that the short answer is, absolutely nothing.

The US Department of State has signed off on the sale of Javelin anti-tank missiles to the government of Ukraine, the Pentagon has confirmed. The deal is valued at $47 million and needs congressional approval next.
If approved by Congress, the deal would involve the sale of 210 missiles and 37 command units, Defense News reported, citing Pentagon sources. The Pentagon claims it will not affect the military balance in the region, where the Kiev government is locked in conflict with two regions in the east of the country. Kiev has been accusing Moscow of backing the rebels, to the point of officially designating Russia an “aggressor” state.

"The Javelin system will help Ukraine build its long-term defense capacity to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity in order to meet its national defense requirements," the Pentagon said in a statement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am having a double face-palm, at warp speed, upon reading this.

The US government should be supporting a peace process, and narrative here.

Instead, what have they done?!? Prop up one of the most dangerously corrupt countries in the region, and get them to believe, in a sort of magical thinking way, that they, with US "Advisors" assistance, can can actually arm-wrestle the breakaway provinces of Lugansk, Donetsk, and Crimea, back into the Ukrainian orbit with extreme force.

I would politely suggest that until Poroshenko gets the corruption in his country under some kind of control, that the US government should be focusing on helping him achieve that goal first, and not arming him with some very serious weaponry.

To a child with a hammer, everything is a nail, which needs to be pounded; so it will be with the Ukrainian military, and these weapons. It will be too temping to start to ramp up raids against Lugansk, and Donetsk, against which their populations cannot fight back.

And I would like to politely remind those in the bowels of power in DC that Crimea, in a class move that is thoroughly protected by the UN, to which Ukraine and the US government are allegedly signatories, that peaceful self-determintation is a right of every people.

They are now part of the Russian Federation, and this happened by the holding of two referenda in Crimea.

I really wouldn't want to mess with this, frankly; it is a can of worms that thinking world leaders would not touch, because they understand how Russia will respond if they do.

YouTube Terminates Account of InfoWars Bureau Chief

Tor Project "Almost 100% Funded By The US Government": FOIA

By following the money, I discovered that Tor was not a grassroots. I was able to show that despite its indie radical cred and claims to help its users protect themselves from government surveillance online, Tor was almost 100% funded by three U.S. National Security agencies: the Navy, the State Department and the BBG. Following the money revealed that Tor was not a grassroots outfit, but a military contractor with its own government contractor number. In other words: it was a privatized extension of the very same government that it claimed to be fighting.

The documents conclusively showed that Tor is not independent at all. The organization did not have free reign to do whatever it wanted, but was kept on a very short leash and bound by contracts with strict contractual obligations. It was also required to file detailed monthly status reports that gave the U.S. government a clear picture of what Tor employees were developing, where they went and who they saw. -Yasha Levine

But Justice Department lawyers gained their conviction against Kurbanov after failing to disclose a legally significant fact: Kurbanov’s conversations with his alleged terrorist associate had been captured through PRISM, a National Security Agency mass surveillance program whose existence was revealed in documents provided by whistleblower Edward Snowden. Under PRISM, the government obtains communications directly from at least eight large technology companies without the need for warrants, a type of practice authorized in 2008, when Congress provided new surveillance powers under FISA.

While traditional FISA authority permits spying on a particular person or group through warrants issued by the secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, under the new powers, codified in FISA Section 702, monitoring is approved in bulk by the court through what is essentially a recipe for mass surveillance.

Due Process Violation

The Due Process Clause is included in both the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution. The clause prohibits the government from depriving a person of their right to liberty or property without due process

The subject of Due Process dates back to 1215 when King John of England issued clause 39 of the Magna Carta. During his rule, King John promised his people that they would not be stripped of their basic human rights. This English rule set the standards for due process in the United States and other countries around the world.

The Pentagon’s “Ides of March”: Best Month to Go to War

Is it a coincidence?

In recent history, from the Vietnam war to the present, the month of March has been chosen by Pentagon and NATO military planners as the “best month” to go to war.

With the exception of the War on Afghanistan (October 2001) and the 1990-91 Gulf War, all major US-NATO and allied led military operations over a period of more than half a century –since the invasion of Vietnam by US ground forces on March 8, 1965– have been initiated in the month of March.

The Ides of March (Idus Martiae) is a day in the Roman calendar which broadly corresponds to March 15. The Ides of March is also known as the date on which Julius Caesar was assassinated in 44 BC.

Lest we forget, the month of March (in the Roman Calendar) is dedicated to Mars (Martius), the Roman God of War.

For the Romans, the month of March (Martius) marked “the time to start new military campaigns.”

"War Is Coming To Southern Lebanon" - Lindsey Graham Warns Israel Is Planning An Invasion

Along the Israeli-Lebanon border, it's about to get 2006 all over again.

At least that's what Senator Lindsey Graham told reporters late Tuesday at a press conference with Democratic Sen. Chris Coons - with whom he sponsored a bipartisan immigration bill that ultimately failed to garner enough support from their fellow lawmakers. The press conference was called to share details about a bipartisan trip last week to the Middle East.

Graham of South Carolina told reporters that Israeli officials made it clear to visiting lawmakers last week that the IDF will need to launch a military action in Southern Lebanon if Hezbollah continues work on a guided-rocket factory being built in the region - a factory that's purportedly being funded by Iran, according to Bloomberg.

"They’ve told us in no uncertain terms that if this threat continues - they keep making rockets that can hit the airport and do a lot of damage to the state of Israel - they are going to have to go in," Graham said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Where is Israel's incontrovertible proof that such a factory is being built by Hezbullah in Lebanon, using Iranian money?!?

That's the cover story of course.

What Israel wants to do, is destroy Hezbullah in Lebanon, because it is affiliated with Iran, and control Lebanon's resources.

It is interesting what Senator Grahamn chose NOT to mention, which is a massive US-Israeli exersise in Israel, slated for early next month, right about at the time Netanyahu will be addressing AIPAC in DC:

IDF/US Troops get Ready to Drill to Simulate a Massive Missile Attack on Israel The drill starts on 4 March, and ends around 15 March.

Were I a betting woman, and because Netanyahu is really starting to sweat bullets due to friends turning state's evidence against him in his corruption scandals, I would not bet against him starting his war against Lebanon any time between the 4th and 15th of March, because he will already have American troops in place to fight Hezbullah alongside the IDF.

Timing... is always key in such drills, and what they could potentially become.

Pennsylvania State Dept. Sued for Hiding Noncitizen Voting Records

The Pennsylvania State Department is facing a lawsuit after officials refused to release records relating to noncitizens on voter rolls in the commonwealth.

An analysis found that there are allegedly more than 100,000 noncitizens that are currently registered to vote, according to a Philadelphia official's testimony before a Pennsylvania government committee last year.

The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF), an election integrity group, initially threatened the lawsuit against Pennsylvania's State Department in December after officials in the state were unresponsive to PILF's requests to inspect the data relating to noncitizens on the state's rolls.

PILF filed the complaint Monday afternoon in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania seeking injunctive relief to compel Pennsylvania's State Department to allow the group access to the information.

A Recurring Nightmare: Deployment of U.S. Ground-based Intermediate Range Nuclear Missiles in Europe against Russia

The plan was announced three years ago, during the Obama administration, when Pentagon officials declared: “In front of Russian aggression, the United States is considering the deployment of ground-based missiles in Europe” (the manifesto, 9 June 2015).

Now, with the Trump administration, the plan is officially confirmed. In the 2018 fiscal year the Congress of the United States authorized the financing of “a program of research and development of a ground-based mobile Cruise missile”. It is a nuclear missile with an intermediate range (between 500 and 5500 km), similar to the 112 Cruise nuclear missiles deployed by the US in Comiso in the 1980s.

They were eliminated, along with the Pershing 2 ballistic missiles deployed by the US in Germany and the Soviet SS-20 deployed in the USSR, by the Treaty on Intermediate Nuclear Forces (INF), stipulated in 1987. It prohibits the deployment of ground-based missiles with a range between 500 and 5500 km.

Mueller’s Comic Book Indictment Is a Threat to All of Us. “Controlled Explanations”

The truth of the hoax indictment is available, but it is not reported by the MSM. This website has reported the facts about the indictment as has Moon of Alabama and David Stockman. Even Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in his press conference announcing Mueller’s indictment of 13 Russians told us part of the truth when he said at the 5 minute, 22 second mark that

“there is no allegation in this indictment that any American was a knowing participant in this illegal activity. There is no allegation in the indictment that the charged conduct altered the outcome of the 2016 election.”

Rosenstein goes on to say that the suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a trial, which, of course, will not take place as the indicted charges are make-believe and the US has no jurisdiction over the indicted Russians.

Is this the way the presstitutes and politicians are reporting it?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Absoflippinglutely unbelievable, but perfectly predictable from the Democratic Party, which, over a year after the election, still cannot possibly believe that it lost the 2016 election with their baggage-ridden candidate, so have to have SOMEONE to blame!

So que the Russian collusion hoax!!!

Fort Shafter Faces Major Task in Planning Korea Evacuations

Fort Shafter faces a huge challenge in updating evacuation plans for American civilians in South Korea should war break out on the peninsula, experts say.

Asia expert Ralph Cossa said estimates of the number of Americans in Seoul on any given day run in the 200,000-to-300,000 range, if not more.

Any evacuation would be "extremely daunting, and likely to cause chaos, even if air assets are available, but especially if they are not," said Cossa, president of the Pacific Forum in Honolulu, a subsidiary of the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

Adm. Harry Harris, head of U.S. Pacific Command on Oahu, revealed at a Feb. 14 House Armed Services Committee hearing that Gen. Robert Brown, commander of U.S. Army Pacific at Fort Shafter, and his staff had been tasked with creating an updated "noncombatant evacuation operations" plan, or NEO, for South Korea

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is not a question of "if" this war will happen; it is now more a question of "when", since this study has been greenlit about two weeks ago.

Feb 28 10:04

LAST WEDNESDAY, the U.S. military did something it had not done before, inviting a sizable delegation of local leaders to a secretive $110 million drone base it’s building in Niger. The Nigerien group was led by the governor of the Agadez region, and the visit was the first for many members of the group, which included religious leaders, civil society members, and a handful of journalists, according to a report by a local radio station, Studio Kalangou.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a point of US power projection in African, and the capability of blowing up who, or what, the US military wants to destroy here with impunity.

US Special Envoy on North Korea Retires After Trump Rejects Talks

US special envoy on North Korea Joseph Yun, an advocate of direct diplomacy with the reclusive nation since 2016 has informed the State Department of his intention to retire on Friday.

Though he didn’t offer a specific statement on this sudden decision, it came immediately after President Trump’s most recent comments spurning direct talks with North Korea without massive preconditions.

Though North Korea has expressed willingness to talk, the White House has made clear that they will only talk if they are guaranteed that total nuclear disarmament of North Korea results before the talks themselves begin.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I can certainly understand why Yun did this; he must be catastrophically disappointed in Trump, and in the Trump Administration's hard line on North Korea, which most probably means that Trump is getting ready to greenlight a military action against it.

Remember: demonization of a country, plus placing harsh sanctions against it (as the Trump Administration did last week) is nearly always a prelude to war.

Speaking of which, also at antiwar.com, comes the following article, linked from wapo.com:

Trump’s team is floating an attack on North Korea. Americans would die.

It is foolish, and magical thinking, to believe that such an attack would not escalate, and spiral completely out of control.

Senators Look to End Yemen War With First-Ever War Powers Challenge: US involvement in Saudi invasion never authorized by Congress

A bipartisan effort by four senators is looking to end the US military’s involvement in the Saudi-led war in Yemen, with the introduction of the first ever War Powers Act vote to come out of the Senate.

Senators Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Rand Paul (R-KY), Mike Lee (R-UT), and Chris Murphy (D-CT) are forwarding the bill, which notes that Congress has never authorized the use of military force in Yemen. This should allow Congress to oblige the administration to end US involvement in the war.

The US has participated in the Saudi invasion of Yemen since it began in 2015, with US planes performing mid-air refueling missions for Saudi bombers, and US warships at times participating in the Saudi-led naval blockade which is causing mass starvation in Yemen.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This move is morally correct, as the US government and military have been colluding with Saudi Arabia in war crimes in Yemen, through participation in the blockade and providing aerial refueling of Saudi bombers, supporting the bombing runs which have led to the massive, indescriminate killing of innocents, including women, children, infants, and the medically fragile elderly. And now, we have massive cases of cholera and diptheria ravaging the land.

But as morally correct as it may be, the passage of such legislation may prove quixotic in the extreme, for several reasons.

First, the Butcher of Yemen, AKA the Saudi Prince Salman, hates the fact that the Houthi rebels are Shia, and believes that they are getting extensive assistance from Iran (which, BTW, can hardly be proven at this point, other than for a few Iranian advisors).

Iran is considered by Saudi Arabian royalty and government to be its existential threat in the region.

So, the plan is, pound the Yemeni people down to extinction, through the genocidal campaign Saudi Arabia is currently waging against it, then go after Iran militarily. This was reported at globalresearch.ca on 13 February of this year:

The Coming War on Lebanon: Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the US Prepare for a long-Planned Middeast War.

The basic plan is to invade and control Lebanon, destroying Iran's ally Hezbullah; destabilizing and regime changing Damascus; then attacking Iran, with US and Israeli military help.

Of course, there is one tiny bit of of the calculus which Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the US haven't quite factored into their plans, and that is the current Russian presence in Syria, and the Russian promise it has consistently made to Iran to defend it if it should ever be invaded.

And THAT... is the thousand pound gorilla, sleeping splayed over the grand piano, which is going going to make such coming wars.... interesting, if not globally devastating.

Pelosi: "Mowing The Grass So People Can't Be Smuggled Through Grass" Better Border Solution Than Wall

In an interview with The Arizona Republic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said she had a better solution than The Wall to monitor and safeguard the U.S.-Mexico border. Pelosi proposed "mowing the grass" and more fences as a border security solution. She called it a "more serious structure."

"I'm not the wall's biggest advocate in Congress," Pelosi said to congressional reporter Ron Hansen. "But I do know that representatives in the House and Senators in that body from the border areas have some serious objections to to a wall because they know how detrimental it can be to the community trade, to all the other aspects of a border."

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would say that this woman has gone stark-raving, barking dog mad, except for understanding the logic of Democrats wanting unrestricted immigration.

The members of Congress who champion illegal immigrants, believe that when they are able to vote, they will only vote Democratic, in order to keep a lock on the Presidency and Congress.

In fact, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, of Chicago, has gone one better than this on his Democratic brothers and sisters;

Chicago ID card would be valid voter identification

We are no longer a nation of laws; we have now devolved into a nation of people.

We got Bannoned': Trump aide Hope Hicks frustrates House panel on Russia

A member of the House intelligence committee said “We got Bannoned” on Tuesday, after a closed-door interview with Hope Hicks, a key aide to Donald Trump, as part of the panel’s Russia investigation.

Bloomberg reported that Denny Heck, a Washington Democrat, invoked Bannon, Trump’s former campaign manager and White House strategist, who refused to answer some questions in front of the panel.

The House is now considering whether to hold Bannon in contempt.

A Republican, Chris Stewart of Utah, said Hicks would not answer questions about events and conversations since Trump took office.

Webmaster's Commentary:

JUST HOLD IT NOW!! Under the 5th Amendment, Hicks is perfectly, legally within her rights to not answer question.

And until Congress removes the 5th Amendment to the Constitution, neither Hicks nor Bannon has to answer any question due to the issue of self-incrimmination.

No one can, legally, be held in contempt of Congress for observing that 5th Amendment in their testimony at this point in US history.

China using big data to detain people before crime is committed: report

Barely seven months ago, a senior Chinese official promised that artificial intelligence could one day help authorities spot crime before it happens.

In the country's far western Xinjiang region, it's already happening, with the establishment of a system that critics call "Orwellian" in scope and ambition, and which is being used to place people in political re-education.

Called the Integrated Joint Operations Platform, or IJOP, it assembles and parses data from facial-recognition cameras, WiFi internet sniffers, licence-plate cameras, police checkpoints, banking records and police reports made on mobile apps from home visits, a new report from Human Rights Watch finds.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have to ask myself; is the Unhinged Surveilled State of America quite so far from using this kind of AI?!?

The short answer is, not really.

Feb 28 08:54

What company gets the most money from the U.S. government? The answer: the weapons maker Lockheed Martin. As the Washington Post recently reported, of its $51 billion in sales in 2017, Lockheed took in $35.2 billion from the government, or close to what the Trump administration is proposing for the 2019 State Department budget. And which company is in second place when it comes to raking in the taxpayer dollars? The answer: Boeing with a mere $26.5 billion. And mind you, that’s before the good times even truly begin to roll, as TomDispatch regular and weapons industry expert William Hartung makes clear today in a deep dive into the (ir)realities of the Pentagon budget. When it comes to the Department of Defense, though, perhaps we should retire the term “budget” altogether, given its connotation of restraint. Can’t we find another word entirely? Like the Pentagon cornucopia?

Webmaster's Commentary:

I very much disagree with the following statement, except for the issue of economic inequality, which is a pervasive problem:

"Donald Trump’s retrograde policies on immigration, women’s rights, racial justice, LGBT rights, and economic inequality have spawned an impressive and growing resistance."

Forgive me, but what has he actually done to diminish women's rights, racial justice, and LGBR rights?!? Can we have some documentation here, please?!?

And the issue of immigration is a no-brainer; this country cannot afford to take care of illegal immigrants who are singularly incapable of taking care of themselves, because they have no skills, and do not speak English: it is just that simple.

That beings said, I too am very concerned about the trajectory of both domestic and foreign policy of this administration.

Domestically, I am seeing the advent of a real chill in the free speech, granted to American citizens by the First Amendent; I am seeing coming restrictions in the right to bear arms, by perfectly law-abiding citizens; and Big Brother haunting all of our conversations with inventions like Siri. and other computer driven "household helpers". I am seeing the 4th Amendment being eviscerated, with traffic stops for no legal reason, if the person is driving responsibly, with compulsatory blood draws for alcohol, even when the person has not been drinking.

Internationally, I am personally terrified of President Trump's Foreign policies.

Mike and I live on a first-strike target, if China decides to assist North Korea in a war against the US; the reason is, that all the military communication to locations further East in the world run through the island of Oahu.

Right now, it appears that the Trump Administration's foreign policy can be summed up in two words, and those words are, "OR ELSE!!", screamed, collectively at countries the US governmnent has decided to villify, and against which they have placed sanctions, like North Korea, Russia, Iran, and China.

It is a dead moral certainty that demonization, plus sanctions, are generally preludes to wars.

President Trump understands that the US military is not really prepared to fight such wars at this point in time; but the unrestrained, military spending to which he has opened the floodgates right now, is not the answer either.

The entire culture of the military/industrial complex has to change, and quickly. There seems to be a belief, at the top levels of these corporations, that it is just fine to deliver equipment which absolutely doesn't perform as advertised (I give you.... Lockheed Martin's F-35, which still, after so many years and bugs, cannot deliver as promised); is delivered so late as to be obsolete upon delivery; and to run up cost overruns in production so intense that they could wake the dead.

But of course, the big reason the corporate bigwigs believe this continues to be OK, is the huge donations they make to both parties, to get the best mlitary spending "bang" from whichever candidate actually gets "elected" by the American people.

Federal law should either exempt weapons manufacturers from being able to contribute to Presidential campaigns, or there should be a clause in all military contracts, that if products do not operate as advertised; or are late in delivery; or have had massive cost over-runs, someone in those companies needs to go to jail for having defrauded the American taxpayer, who has ultimately paid for those weapons.

That only needs to happen a few times, before the military industrial complex gets the message.

Right now, Russian and Chinese weapons makers are delivering some outstanding products, as we have seen in Russia's campaign in Syria; Russia and China are getting much more bang for their defense and weaponry spending than is the US; it is time to change that.

Cleveland, Ohio – Graphic Body Camera footage has been released that shows police officers forcing a mentally ill woman to remove her clothes, and then violently slamming her to the ground, covering her face with pepper spray, and forcing her to answer a series of questions before giving her medical aid.

The video was released by Cuyahoga County after a judge granted a request submitted by Cleveland.com. The evidence details an incident that took place in May 2016, after officers arrested a woman for a nonviolent offense, and a municipal court judge ordered that she be held in jail until a mental health evaluation could be conducted.

In order to conduct the evaluation, a female guard ordered the woman to go into her cell and take off her clothes. When she did not comply, the guard called for backup, and Corporal Brendan Johnson arrived.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder just how intense the psycological evals are for the Cleveland PD, that men who could do this could ever get possibly get hired.

Did they all actually have mothers?!? Or were they perhaps cloned in a lab of an offspring of Josef Mengele?!?

IF this is how Cleveland cops interpret "to protect and serve", residents of this city should vote with their feet, and get the hell out of Dodge. Destroy the city's tax base en masse,as moving out of the cityh is perfectly legal for people to do... at least, at the moment.

Conventions, do NOT book Cleveland as your venue, as you may get sued for setting your convention in a place which could be very hazardous to attendees' health, both mental and physical.

The bill passed today 388-25 by the U.S. House of Representatives marks an unprecedented push towards Internet censorship, and does nothing to fight sex traffickers.

H.R. 1865, the Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act (FOSTA), allows for private lawsuits and criminal prosecutions against Internet platforms and websites, based on the actions of their users. Facing huge new liabilities, the law will undoubtedly lead to platforms policing more user speech.

The Internet we know today is possible only because of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which prevents online platforms from being held liable for their users’ speech, except in certain circumstances. FOSTA would punch a major hole in Section 230, enabling lawsuits and prosecutions against online platforms—including ones that aren’t even aware that sex trafficking is taking place.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looks like the only way to communicate henceforward, with all these punitive laws which will punish the innocent, and not really take care of the guilty, is with a couple of cans and a string, or sign language in a very darkened room!!

As the world quietly goes about their business, Pakistan has vowed to get revenge on India after an attack. The tensions between the two nations are quickly spiraling out of control leading many to wonder if World War 3 will break out in the area soon.

According to the Express UK, the devastating attack from India along the contested border known as the Line of Control (LoC) as tensions between the two South Asian nations flare, a retired soldier has claimed. The LoC splits the region of Kashmir, with Pakistan owning one side and India, the other. The region of Kashmir has been contested by both countries for decades causing high levels of tensions between the neighboring states.

YouTube Censorship: ‘They Are Stepping It Up, Something Is In The Works’

Most can see that YouTube is scrubbing videos and deleting accounts that don’t tow the line and parrot the mainstream media and government’s official timeline of events for things. And it’s getting worse by the day, it seems.

SGTReport, a YouTube channel, recently had a man named Ron Johnson on their show to discuss the termination of accounts and videos that are true, but aren’t in line with the ideology of “the state is your god.” Johnson had his YouTube channel, Stranger Than Fiction News, deleted after gathering 150,000. He describes his channel as “Christian news.” In the interview with SGT Report, Johnson says “something is in the works,” because YouTube has stepped up their censorship campaign to new levels.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What is coming, and what Youtube is going to be censoring, is.... any dissent from the wars and more wars, courtesy of the Unhinged Surveilled State of America, the world is going to experience. The US hopes to iradicate any logical, critical thinking which could deflect from the official government narrative.

The American Deep State wants no factual, logical coverage of these wars; it only wants sensational support, based on lies, fabrication, and half truths. In fact, the US government has just established... wait for it... an official US Department of Propaganda, as reported at antiwar.com, today:

State Deparment gest $40 million to Fund a Troll Farm

And to look at where these wars are going to hit, all you have to do is look at the following reality; sanctions plus demonization are almost always preludes to war.

The US government has been demonizing the following countries, and throwing sanctions against them; this clearly means that Russia; China; North Korea; and Iran are in the cross hairs of the Deep State's "To Do" List.

U.S. Escalates Threat Against Iran After Russia U.N. Veto

The United States has escalated international tensions with Iran, threatening unilateral action against the Islamic Republic on Monday after Russia vetoed a United Nations Security Council motion to call out Tehran for allowing weapons to fall into the hands of Yemen's Houthi group.

“If Russia is going to continue to cover for Iran then the U.S. and our partners need to take action on our own. If we’re not going to get action on the council then we have to take our own actions,” said U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley during a visit to the Honduran capital of Tegucigalpa.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What precisely Haley means by "We will have to take our own actions", couldn't possibly be more clear; the US government is going to war against Iran, probably with Russia defending it, and Saudi Arabia on the US side, fighting it.

This will most probably result in a world war.

Yet another manifestation of the Trump Administration's "OR ELSE!!" foreign policy.

Supreme Court rules immigrants can be detained indefinitely

Autoplay: On | Off
Immigrants can be held by U.S. immigration officials indefinitely without receiving bond hearings, even if they have permanent legal status or are seeking asylum, the Supreme Court ruled Tuesday.

In a 5-3 ruling Tuesday, with Justice Elena Kagan recusing, the court ruled that immigrants do not have the right to periodic bond hearings.

The ruling is a defeat for immigration advocates, who argued that immigrants should not be held for more than six months at a time without such a hearing.

The Supreme Court ruling follows a Trump administration appeal of a ruling by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals last year that imposed a rule requiring immigrants held in custody be given a bond hearing every six months, as long as they aren't considered a flight risk or a danger to national security.
“To impose a rigid six-month rule like the Court of Appeals did is really a mistake,” Solicitor General Ian Gershengorn said in November.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a very slippery slope, and I think, not a great decision from the Supremes.

Yes, we want to keep the country safe from those who would do its citizens harm; but how soon will this "indefinite detention" start to creep, and placed against native-born US citizens, because the government doesn't like their politics?!?

The US Is Protecting ISIS to Weaken Rivals, Expand US Occupation of Syria

The dominant view of the US-led coalition against the Islamic State (ISIS), Operation Inherent Resolve, is that its fundamental goal is the defeat of ISIS.

And so, in the wake of the routing of ISIS from Iraq and Syria, the core justification for an ongoing US military presence in Syria is ensuring that no post-mortem ISIS insurgency arises.

That the US is unequivocally opposed to ISIS is simply taken for granted.

Yet a closer look at the history of US involvement shows that counterterrorism has been a lesser concern relative to geopolitical and strategic goals. Whenever the goals of expanding territorial control or weakening rivals conflicts with the goal of opposing ISIS, the entity was either ignored or even empowered in pursuit of these more paramount concerns.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Abosoflippinglutely unbelievable, but perfectly predictable for the US government.

Turkey Threatens to Invade Greece

In an incident that took place less than two weeks after the Greek Defense Ministry announced that Turkey had violated Greek airspace 138 times in a single day, a Turkish coast guard patrol boat on February 13 rammed a Greek coast guard vessel off the shore of Imia, one of many Greek islands over which Turkey claims sovereignty.

Most of the areas within modern Greece’s current borders were under the occupation of the Ottoman Empire from the mid-15th century until the Greek War of Independence in 1821 and the establishment of the modern Greek state in 1832. The islands, however, like the rest of Greece, are legally and historically Greek, as their names indicate.

Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), however, and even much of the opposition seem intent on, if not obsessed with, invading and conquering these Greek islands, on the grounds that they are actually Turkish territory.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This, coupled with the following article, also at globalresearch.ca, does not augur well for peace in the region:

Erdogan Vows to Recapture all Lands Once Held by the Ottoman Empire... and more

What we have here... is a President of a NATO member who appears to have lost his reality licence; what is NATO going to do now, in light of the fact that Greece is also a NATO member, as well as the US, a NATO member with troops embedded with Kurds in Syria, who Edrogan wants to have wiped off the face of the earth?!?

Could this herald the end of NATO as we have known it?!?

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, you had BETTER start working the phones here, and fast, if you do not want to see NATO disintegrate into a hideous regional war between existing NATO members.

State Dept Gets $40 Million to Fund Troll Farm: US propaganda office set to 'go on the offensive'

On Monday, the US State Department announced that it had obtained $40 million from the Pentagon to fund a new propaganda and disinformation campaign through the “Global Engagement Center.”

While the Global Engagement Center was initially conceived of as resisting foreign propaganda efforts, the new funding is set to be invested in going “on the offensive” in global propaganda war with America’s own disinformation campaigns.

The US, of course, is no stranger to engaging in overseas propaganda efforts, but the inexorable nature of global information sharing in the modern era means that such US propaganda always risks misinforming the US public.

Congress has approved the offensive on the grounds that it be used to “counter Russia.” In practice, this likely means much of the funding will be used to try to skew global perception of Russia even more hostile than it already is.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Wow, an official American Department of Propaganda!!

How Goebbels of the American government!!

"Hey, if the truth can't get you where you want to go, as an Empire in Decline, then BEND IT till it does!!"- official Global Enegagement Center Souce.

And for those of you who have forgotten your history (which means you are doomed to repeat it, probably, this time against Russia), let me offer you a little bite-sized slice of Nazi History during World War II.

The article goes on to state:

"In the days after the Nazi electoral victories of July 1932, Adolf Hitler informed Joseph Goebbels that he intended to make Goebbels director of a new propaganda ministry when the Nazis took over the reins of national government. Goebbels soon envisioned an empire that would control schools, universities, film, radio, and propaganda. “The national education of the German people,” he wrote, “will be placed in my hands.”

"Control of Film, Radio, Theater, and the Press

Still, Goebbels wielded enormous influence. Film, radio, theater, and the press largely fell under Goebbels’s jurisdiction (though he shared power over the press with the head of the Reich Press Chamber, Max Amann, the Nazi newspaper magnate, and after 1937 with Otto Dietrich, head of the Reich Press Office). Goebbels also continued as head of the party’s propaganda apparatus that reached down to the local Nazi organizations. At the age of thirty-five, the youngest minister in the new cabinet, Goebbels became indispensable to the regime and to Adolf Hitler."

I would politely suggest that the creation this "Department of Global Engagement" by the United States State Department, is a demonstration of desperation on the cusp of madness, to invent a narrative through which to create a "war fever" in the brains of the American public, which will convince them that nothing short of a war with Russia can possibly save us from capitulating to its horrific objectives.

Remember the formula; unrelenting demonization of a country, coupled with massive sanctions against it, as we see with both Russia and North Korea right now, is almost always a prelude to war.

US Airstrike Kills 25, Including Children, in Eastern Syria: Slain were mostly women and children

A US airstrike in eastern Syria’s al-Shaafa region has killed at least 25 people on Monday, with more than half of the slain identified as women and children, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Details on the slain are still emerging, but US spokesman Col. Ryan Dillon attempted to downplay reports, saying the US takes “all allegations seriously,” and that if any civilians were killed they’d be included in the Pentagon’s monthly list. The Pentagon, of course, tends to ultimately count only about 10-15% of the deaths in their official lists.

The al-Shaafa area is believed to be one of the last strongholds of ISIS forces inside Syria, and that has made it a popular target for airstrikes by various anti-ISIS factions. So far, however, the strikes have appeared to kill mostly just random civilians.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The murder of a country's children, via airstrikes, is an assassination against that country's future.

In its vicious and violent attempt to partition Syria, the American Government is completely unphased by its military commiting these war crimes; I do not blame the American military for this; it is their mission, and they can shake off civilian casualties by characterising them as "collateral damage."

It is simply another manifestation of the Trump administration's "OR ELSE!!" foreign policy, one to which I am afraid that the American people have become "comfortably numb", in order to avoid having to think about this, or discuss the moral rightness of these actions.

South Korea Pushes for US, North Korea Talks; Trump Says ‘We’ll See’

Hoping to expand on diplomatic gains made surrounding the Winter Olympics, South Korea is pushing for the US and North Korea to both ease their stances a bit and get to the table for direct negotiations and quickly as possible.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in in particular said the US needs to lower its threshold for talks, citing long-standing US preconditions, while North Korea should make it clear they’re willing to discuss nuclear disarmament.

North Korean officials have broached the subject in the past, saying they would be willing to disarm their nuclear program if the deal ends the threat of US attack, which they believe they need a nuclear deterrent to preclude.

White House officials reiterated over the weekend that they would only talk if there was a guarantee that the talks would end in North Korea’s denuclearization.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would love to think that this was possible; but North Korea will not stand down from its position to remain a nuclear-armed country, as a deterrent to a US invasion, and the US government will not stand down from its position that it will not talk unless North Korea denuclearises.

So what we have here... is the potential for a catastrophe which may will impact the entire planet.

Expect China to join the fray on North Korea's side, should the US start this war; the best hope would be for China to remain neutral, if North Korea started an attack on any US assets, but were I a betting human being, I would not bet on that happening.

Eric Zuesse, originally posted at strategic-culture.org
On Wednesday, February 21st, the UK’s Minister of Defence, Conservative Gavin Williamson, announced that the United Kingdom is changing its fundamental defence strategy from one that’s targeted against non-state terrorists (Al Qaeda, etc.), to one that’s targeted instead against three countries: Russia, China, and North Korea. He acknowledged that a massive increase in military spending will be needed for this, and that “savings” will have to be found in other areas of Government-spending, such as the health services, and in military spending against terrorism.

The headline in the London Times on February 22nd was “Russia ‘is a bigger threat to our security than terrorists’”. Their Defence Editor, Deborah Haynes. reported:

The threat to Britain from states such as Russia and North Korea is greater than that posed by terrorism, the defence secretary said yesterday, marking a significant shift in security policy.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, but has this gentleman, and the entire government of the UK, gone collectively barking-dog mad, in this assessment?!?

Or, was it theirs to make in the first place, or a determination forced upon them by the current US administration?!?

With so much of their country already living in the abject misery of poverty because of the British government's austerity program, what will the future tooling up of their war machine, possibly coupled with conscription of Britain's youth, mean for Britain's future?!?

So I have a statement for Mr Williamson to ponder: Those who do not understand the past (Iraq) are doomed to repeat it (Russia, China, Korea).

Fox News’ Laura Ingraham dropped a bombshell revelation on the Florida Parkland school shooting, exposing how the Sheriff’s department ordered Broward deputies to NOT enter the school unless their body cameras were switched on.

To make matters even more confusing, the deputies were not even equipped with body cameras to begin with.

From @IngrahamAngle: Broward County Sheriff Deputies were reportedly told not to enter the school during the shooting unless they had body cameras on, which they did not have. So deputies did not enter the building or engage the shooter.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This coverup is falling apart faster than a cheaply made suit!!

Feb 27 10:55

As Americans continue to rage over the Valentine’s Day school shooting in Florida, expressing indignation at both the atrocity and efforts to impose (or reject) gun control, the U.S. government has acknowledged its own perpetual addiction to violence.

According to two letters released by the federal government last week in response to an inquiry from Virginia Senator Tim Kaine, the U.S. plans to maintain its military presence in Syria and Iraq indefinitely, citing vague threats of terrorism.

In one letter, Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Policy) David Trachtenberg responded to Kaine by justifying continued operations in Syria with the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF), passed by Congress in the wake of 9/11 to justify invading Afghanistan.

Webmaster's Commentary:

An "indefinte" US military presence in Syria?!?

Forgive me, but has either Syria's Al-Assad or Russia's Putin received a copy of this memo?!?

Remember; Russia was invited by the Syrian government to assist with getting rid of the Western-backed jihadists; the US absolutely was not.

The US military actions in Syria and Iraq are absolutely not about "self-defense", except in the pure economic sense; these actions are about ultimately, regime change in Damascus, making Syria more Western-Centric, and in both countries, assuring that the oil from these countries is only sold in US dollars; it is just that simple.

This virtually guarantees a military confrontation between Russia and the United States in Syria. I think that the question of how much of this nonsense Syria and Russia will take from the United States will be answered relatively shortly.

Unfortunately, it appears that US foreign policy, under the Trump administration, has devolved to the "OR ELSE!!!" school of foreign policy, which counts only on threats, and pre-emptive wars with which to secure what the US government wants to accomplish, rather than even attempt to make deals which would accomplish the same outcomes.
This country was founded on a brilliant concept of responsible, representative government, serving the needs and hopes of its citizens; that country has died, and been replaced by a government which only represents the needs and concerns of major corporations, and their desire to acquire, no matter how many innocents get crushed in the way of those acquisitions.

Wars are fought for corporate profit, not for any great noble ideal; not for truth; not for justice; and not to allegedly protect the "American Way of Life", whatever that is supposed to be.

When Karl Marx observed that "All wars are economic in origin.", he was being ruthlessly honest, which is why so many US politicians hate this reality; after all, it thoroughly interferes with the US Deep State narrative that its wars are always just; honest; and moral, which we now know to be a complete and utter lie.

Jared Kushner Belongs To Rothschild’s Doomsday Cult

Sheriff Israel is a Chabad-Lubavitcher.

Trump’s son-in-law and senior advisor Jared Kushner belongs to an elite doomsday cult that boasts the Rothschilds as members and is trying to foment a “prophesied” third world war.

Chabad Lubavitch is a Jewish supremacist cult that serve the Illuminati. Despite only having 200,000 elite followers, it has intimate ties to nearly every powerful government leader on earth.

The cult believes Jews are God’s chosen people and everyone else is trash. In the book Gatherings of Conversations Rebbe Schneerson tells his followers that Jewish people are an extension of God and Gentiles are destined to serve the Jews.

The Rothschilds belong to this cult. Historian Wolfgang Eggert says Chabad Lubavitch is the real face of the Illuminati. He says this cult intends to initiate a nuclear holocaust in order to fulfill biblical prophecy and hasten the return of the Messiah:

Russia said on Monday it would establish an evacuation corridor and implement a five-hour daily truce to allow people to leave Syria’s eastern Ghouta, after a UN Security Council resolution demanding a 30-day ceasefire across the entire country, Reuters reports.

It appeared to make no mention, however, of allowing relief supplies to enter the territory, where 400,000 people are living under siege and bombardment.

Over the past week, Syria’s army and its allies have subjected the rebel-held enclave near Damascus to one of the heaviest bombardments of the seven-year war, killing hundreds.

On Sunday, health authorities there said several people had symptoms consistent with chlorine gas exposure. On Monday, rescue workers and a monitoring group said seven small children had been killed by air and artillery strikes in one town.

Webmaster's Commentary:

My heart breaks for all the innocents who have been killed in this horrific, US government sponsored war, in an attempt to accomplish regime change in Damascus.

But it has been unable to do that, so has decided to create a "beachhead" in Syria, from where they can attempt to partition the country.

In December, it was reported by the NYT that there had been a fourfold increase in US troops in Syria:

U.S. Says 2,000 Troops Are in Syria, a Fourfold Increase

Many of these troops are now embedded with the Kurdish forces in Manbij, Syria, which, for the moment, is not being invaded by the Turks, because of a deal worked out in consultations between US and Turkish officials.
Syria conflict: US and Turkey agree to avert Manbij clash

But the specre of a Turkish/US military confrontation over Syria, and a Russian/US military confrontation over Syria hangs in the air, like the rotten stench of a corpse; it feels as though one of the two scenarios is very likely to happen, and it is only a question of time before it does.

BBC Declares Populism Can Be ‘Truly Terrifying’, Cites Brexit and Trump

A video produced by BBC Ideas has argued that the “fervour of populist politics can be truly terrifying,” citing the Brexit vote and the election of President Donald Trump.

The video explains that “populist is almost always a pejorative term and no one really wants the label,” claiming that “most populist leaders would rather see themselves as inspiring grassroots movements.”

“Political debate involves reason, science, evidence, challenge, and argument. Free speech and a free press on vital to this,” the narrator says.

“Populists, in contrast, love stirring hearts with rhetoric, aren’t renowned for using reason and evidence and argument, and are keen in dividing the world into ‘us’ and ‘them’.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: Ordinary people are too stupid to run the world.

US sanctions Libya oil smugglers

The United States has issued a new round of sanctions targeting oil smugglers in Libya aimed at blocking exploitation of natural resources that is driving instability, the US Treasury Department said on Monday.

In a statement, Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) said it was sanctioning six people, 24 companies and seven vessels in a move that prohibits Americans from engaging with those targeted and freezes any related property under US jurisdictions.

The sanctions target people from Libya, Malta and Egypt for "involvement in the smuggling of petroleum products from Libya to Europe".

Issued under the authority of a 2016 executive order by then President Barack Obama, companies based in Italy, Libya and Malta are also targets, the statement said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The rest of the world isn't going to be quite that fussy about from where they can get below-market oil, and if they can get it from illegal smugglers in Libya, they will.

This is a massive effort, courtesy of the American government, to appear that it is actually doing something about the instability generated by the assassination of Moamar Ghaddafi 7 years ago, when these sanctions really do next to nothing to get at the root of the problem.

And the root of the problem, is getting Libya stable again, with a functioning government which can protect its own people and its industries, which, unfortunately, does not appear to be happening any time soon.

China’s propaganda machine kicked into overdrive Tuesday to defend the Communist Party’s move to scrap term limits for President Xi Jinping as critics on social media again defied censorship attempts.

The country has shocked many observers by proposing a constitutional amendment to end the two-term limit for presidents, giving Xi a clear path to rule the world’s second largest economy for life.

The rubber-stamp National People’s Congress (NPC) is certain to endorse the move next week, meaning that Xi — already China’s most powerful leader in decades — can stay as president beyond 2023.

Li Datong, a former editor at the state-run China Youth Daily, posted a draft letter urging legislators to vote against the move — which would abolish term limits set in 1982 under Deng Xiaoping to prevent a return to the decades of chaos under Mao Zedong.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We're not quite there, in terms of media censorship here in the United State; however, Facebook and Twitter are working valliantly to bring this country down to the same state of media censorship as we find in present-day China on this, and many other issues, which they find "objectionalble", and not fitting to the deep state's narrative.

For example, where are Facebook's people talking about the US government and military colluding with Saudi Arabia in the commission of war crimes in Yemen and citing examples of these atrocities?!?

Were I a betting person, I would bet a whole, worthless US cent that such a topic is not discussed there; the only place, most generally, that you will find it is in the independent media.

I do not know about you, but I am very angry at having to stay a citizen of a country which commits war crimes with impunity (BECAUSE IT CAN!!), and unable to leave, because Mike and I are too broke, and too old, to be accepted for citizenship by a more civilized country which doesn't indulge in this kind of behaviour.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has given the Federal Guard Service (FSO) powers to counter hack attacks on state data resources as well as to protect the personal data of senior state officials and their families.
Putin signed the decree, which was published on the official state website for legal information, on Tuesday. It states that the FSO can launch operations on “informational warfare, detection, prevention and elimination of consequences of computer attacks on informational resources of the Russian Federation.”

In addition, the agency is charged with the task of protecting the personal data of senior state officials and their family members, and also sanctioning the processing of such personal data by third parties.

The latest Russian doctrine on information security, introduced at the end of 2016, states that various foreign nations have intensified their efforts to affect Russia’s internal affairs and launch cyberattacks against its key infrastructure.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder, in an election year in Russia, (March 2018) precisely whichnation/state might be doing this, in order to potentially sway the election, and gather scientific intel to make their weapons even begin to catch up to those of Russia?!?

I will give you three guesses and the first two don't count!!

EU says Ireland's Apple complaint will only be dropped if it recovers the full $16 billion in unpaid taxes

The European Commission could withdraw its complaint against Ireland for not recovering 13 billion euros in unpaid taxes from Apple if the country recovers the amount in full, the EU's Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager told CNBC.

Speaking to CNBC, Vestager said it has taken Ireland "too long" to recover the money, but she understands that the process is complex.

The European Commission will withdraw its complaint against Ireland for not recovering 13 billion euros ($16 billion) in unpaid taxes from Apple, but only if the country recovers that amount in full, the EU's Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager told CNBC.

The EU took Ireland to the European Court of Justice last October for failure to recover the sum from the technology giant, when it was ruled that Apple had benefited from illegal tax benefits in Ireland in August 2016. According to EU law, the recovery of funds should usually take four months after the Commission issued its decision.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Watch for the prices of Apple products to soar in an attempt to get this debt paid.

One of the largest banks in the United States has acknowledged that cryptocurrencies could pose a threat to its business model. In Bank of America’s new annual report filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the corporation largely reflected internally about a number of economic, geopolitical, and operational risks faced.

One of those stated risks is surrounding the increased adaptation of cryptocurrencies, which could have negative effects on the corporation’s earning potential.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Oh, HORRORS! Bank of America may well have to become truly competitive to survive! How will they ever do it, short of resorting to sharp business practices which fleece their customers more then they already do?!?

Time will solve that problem, I guess!!

Trump: If North Korea Doesn’t Obey Me, I Might Punish the Whole World

On Friday, president Trump announced that his administration would be hitting North Korea with the “heaviest sanctions ever imposed on a country before.” The new penalties target dozens of ships and shipping companies that have (allegedly) been helping Pyongyang sustain its economy — and thus, its nuclear program. Specifically, these firms have allegedly enabled Kim Jong Un’s regime to evade previous sanctions by helping it trade illicitly with other countries while at sea, as opposed to on land, where such verboten commerce would be more easily detected.

The move represents an escalation of the White House’s latest strategy for combating the North Korean nuclear program: Pursue direct talks with Pyongyang — while imposing maximum economic pain on the regime — in hopes of forcing Kim Jong Un to denuclearize without unleashing “fire and fury like the world has never seen.”

'Free Speech' Suit Aims to End Twitter's Political Censorship | Breitbart

A group of free-speech lawyers filed the most serious legal challenge yet to Twitter’s censorship policies Tuesday in San Francisco County Superior Court, seeking a ruling preventing Twitter from banning users purely on the basis of their views and political associations.

The 29-page complaint contends that, under a California legal doctrine that recognizes some private facilities as “public forums,” Twitter may not discriminate against speech on their platform based purely on viewpoint. If successful, it would be the first extension of that doctrine to internet social media platforms and could transform the way free speech is treated online. The suit became all the more relevant Wednesday as Twitter stood accused of locking out thousands of conservatives under the guise of cracking down on “Russian bots.”

NATIONAL SECURITYPOLITICSRepublicans Refute ‘Point by Point’ Democratic Memo on Dossier

On Saturday the much anticipated Democratic memo written by ranking minority member of the committee Rep. Adam Schiff, D-CA, was released and surmised that former British spy “Christopher Steele’s raw intelligence reporting did not inform the FBI’s decision to initiate its counterintelligence investigation in late July 2016” among other assertions. The dossier played a significant role in the investigation into President Trump’s 2016 campaign and alleged that members of the Trump campaign were colluding with the Russian government against then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

“The American people now clearly understand that the FBI used political dirt paid for by the Democratic Party to spy on an American citizen from the Republican Party”

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Democratic Party has thrown itself into a chasm of mistrust on the part of the American people over this nonsense, and may well never recover.

And to add insult to injury, here's another story, from what whatdoesitmean.com, about the DNC's attitude toward throwing Bernie Sanders under the proverbial bus regarding their having rigged the primary elections in Clinton's favor:

Lawyers For The DNC Argue That 'Primary Rigging' Is Protected By The First Amendment

Talk about desperation on the cusp of madness! Because of the way in which the DNC rigged the primaries to keep Bernie from ever having a chance at winning the nomination, American Democrats and Independents had utterly zero choice in the last election; they simply had Hillary crammed down their collective throats, whether they wanted her or not.

It’s a mysterious court that hides behind a hulking vaulted door and impenetrable concrete walls – and it’s where the federal government makes some of its most secretive decisions concerning Americans’ basic liberties.

If you dare ask where the secret court is located, employees at the E. Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse in Washington, D.C. – where the court reportedly relocated in 2009 – won’t tell you.

That’s because the super-secret court is far beyond the reach of any journalist or curious American citizen.

Ron Paul Warns "We Can't Continue To Run The World"

Sputnik: Donald Trump has been in office for over a year. What is your general assessment of his job as president?

Ron Paul: Mediocre; probably not worse than the other options. But I don't think presidents really have much control. I think the deep state – the people behind the scenes and the shadow government, who control the monetary system, who control our foreign policy and the welfare state, and are connected to the media and the military-industrial complex. – I don't think the presidency is as important as it's made out to be. But everybody talks about it; it's a political thing, and they keep churning the issue and directing everybody to ask 'is Trump a good guy or a bad guy, and are we going to impeach him or what's going to happen', rather than [asking] what kind of philosophy do we have: why do we have this philosophy of welfare-warfare, spend money, run up debt and let the central bank print all that money.

California Water Agency Officials Charged With Burying Hazardous Waste And Corruption

California's attorney general has charged five former and current employees of the Panoche Water District in central California with felonies, including using public funds for personal items and illegally burying barrels of hazardous waste.

The Department of Toxic Substances Control at California's Environmental Protection Agency says it found 86 drums, each holding between 35 and 55 gallons of "chlorine, caustic soda, iron chloride and a mixture of used antifreeze, used solvents, and used oil."

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra accused former Panoche Water District General Manager Dennis Falaschi and former employees Jack Hurley and Dubby West of disposing of the chemicals at an unauthorized site, specifically burying them "in a pit or in the soil at the Panoche Water District yard" near Firebaugh, Calif.

Webmaster's Commentary:

How in the name of heaven was this allowed to go on for so long, without anyone in the State of California being aware?!?!?

Assault Weapons Not Protected by Second Amendment, Federal Appeals Court Rules

Maryland's ban on 45 kinds of assault weapons and its 10-round limit on gun magazines were upheld Tuesday by a federal appeals court in a decision that met with a strongly worded dissent.

Judge William Traxler issued a dissent. By concluding the Second Amendment doesn't even apply, Traxler wrote, the majority "has gone to greater lengths than any other court to eviscerate the constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and bear arms." He also wrote that the court did not apply a strict enough review on the constitutionality of the law.

"For a law-abiding citizen who, for whatever reason, chooses to protect his home with a semi-automatic rifle instead of a semi-automatic handgun, Maryland's law clearly imposes a significant burden on the exercise of the right to arm oneself at home, and it should at least be subject to strict scrutiny review before it is allowed to stand," Traxler wrote.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would like to hope that this case goes all the way up to the Supreme Court, and gets heard at that level.

SILENCE! Twitter, YouTube scrubbing all content and banning all users who question the official (false) narrative on the Florida school shooting

A few years from now, looking back on why Twitter collapsed and YouTube was abandoned by every intelligent person, we’ll remember what these totalitarian tech giants did in February, 2018. Starting a few days ago, both Twitter and YouTube began scrubbing all videos and tweets that don’t follow the “official narrative” on the Florida school shooting.

Anyone who questions the wisdom of the school students-turned-propagandists — who were all probably eating Tide pods a week ago — is immediately banned and silenced. Only one side of this “debate” is allowed to exist: The side that worships the lunatic Left’s demands that all law-abiding Americans surrender their self-defense firearms because a group of traumatized school kids were shot at by their own lunatic classmate.

The Netherlands’ permissive drugs policy has been hailed worldwide, but immigrant-dominated crime gangs are taking advantage to create a “parallel mafia society.” Yet they are not the only ones who created this crisis.
A report by the Dutch police union based on interviews with 400 detectives, released last week, read less like a blueprint for tackling crime, but rather a concession of defeat.

A sample of quotes from interviewees: “In 25 years, I’ve seen small dealers grow to large businessmen with respected investors [and] political connections.” “Five years ago a contract killer would cost €50,000 [US$61,000] now one can be found for €5,000. It’s supply and demand.” “The Netherlands has become a narco state in the past three decades. We do not see what remains invisible, but underground it has been growing.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a shame, happening in what used to be one of the gems of Europe.

The Dutch people have to take the initiative, and move beyond the status quo right now in order to get these problems under control.

An infamous NGO that was repeatedly accused of falsifying information about its operations and essentially working as a propaganda outlet for anti-government militants in Syria, now claims that Damascus deployed chemical weapons in Eastern Ghouta.

The notorious White Helmets group claims that the Syrian government deployed chlorine gas against the town of Al-Shifoniya town in Eastern Ghouta, killing one child and causing “widespread suffocation” among the local civilians, Anadolu Agency reports.

The White Helmets, a group that styles itself as an NGO seeking to ease the plight of civilians in Syria suffering from the ongoing conflict in the country, has previously been accused of falsifying information about its work in Syria and staging “rescue” attempts in its propaganda videos.

Earlier the Russian Defense Ministry warned that militant groups in Eastern Ghouta were preparing a false flag attack in an attempt to blame Damascus for using chemical weapons against civilians.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The logical question which comes to mind is, why would Al Assad's forces do this, when they are nearly at the point of wiping out the jihadists with Russia's help?!?

The short answer is, they wouldn't; the White Helmets cannot be given a shred of credibility at this point, and it is more likely something which they themselves, or their associates, have been doing.

As calls for gun control increase among the parties that claim it would put an end to mass shootings, an investigation is revealing that state sheriff’s deputies are taking the firearms they have seized from individuals and re-selling them to generate revenue—only to find that some of the guns go on to be used in other crimes.

According to the results of an investigation reported by the Associated Press, in the state of Washington alone, “more than a dozen of the guns sold by law enforcement since 2010 ended up in new crimes.”

The firearms are also typically sold to arms dealers in large batches, with a recent lot of 331 guns being transferred from the Washington State Patrol to a gun dealer in Knoxville, Tennessee. Included in that batch were at least five assault rifles.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Absoflippinglutely unbelievable.
