WATCH: Philly cop threatens to impound man’s car unless he buys tickets to police fundraiser

A Philadelphia police officer was relegated to desk duty after getting caught on video threatening to impound a man’s car unless he bought tickets to a department fundraiser.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Chief Charles Ramsey ordered that Officer Matthew Zagursky’s gun be taken away from him after seeing footage of Zagursky’s actions during a traffic stop.

Webmaster's Commentary:

sound familiar? snip: societies that idealized war, soldiers, nationalism, militarism, political certainty, fallen warriors, racial cleansing, and a dogmatic allegiance to the homeland. Education and the media were the propaganda tools of authoritarianism, merging fascist and religious symbols with the language of God, family, and country, and were integral to promoting servility and conformity among the populace.

UNITED STATES JUST PASSED UP OLD SOVIET UNION GULAGS FOR LARGEST PRISON SYSTEM

For decades, the Soviet Gulags under Joseph Stalin had been considered some of the worst prisons in all of history. But now things have changed.

The United States has far exceeded the horrific tolls of the gulags. In the Soviet example, there were more than 18 million victims during the gulags’ use over four decades.

Around a million people died in the gulags over the years.

Now, as of 2009, the United States tolls soar higher than 7 million in prison, on probation or in some way caught up in the American prison system.

On the surface that might sound like a lot less than the gulag total above. But when you factor in all who have been put through the US prison system, we find a total that is higher than 19 million. That’s more than the 18 million locked up in the gulag system over those forty years.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The American prison system is an absolute, complete, total failure, and if you don't believe me, take a look at the recidivism rate.

As reported at http://www.nij.gov/topics/corrections/recidivism/pages/welcome.aspx:

National Statistics on Recidivism Bureau of Justice Statistics studies have found high rates of recidivism among released prisoners. One study tracked 404,638 prisoners in 30 states after their release from prison in 2005.[1] The researchers found that: Within three years of release, about two-thirds (67.8 percent) of released prisoners were rearrested. Within five years of release, about three-quarters (76.6 percent) of released prisoners were rearrested. Of those prisoners who were rearrested, more than half (56.7 percent) were arrested by the end of the first year. Property offenders were the most likely to be rearrested, with 82.1 percent of released property offenders arrested for a new crime compared with 76.9 percent of drug offenders, 73.6 percent of public order offenders and 71.3 percent of violent offenders.

IF the American prison system worked, these numbers would not be anywhere near as high.

And it galls me for all the money spent here, the outcome is so absurdly lousy.

In Sweden, they are closing their prisons, because they don't have enough prisoners to fill them. And why?!? Because the entire focus of incarceration is rehabilitation, period, end of discussion. The Swedish model looks to encourage family involvement, so that when a prisoner has served his or her time, they can re-integrate with society, and become productive again.

But particularly with the private prisons, low recidivism rates hurts their bottom line, so when prisoners are released, they are generally worse off, emotionally, physically, and mentally, that they are most probably going to offend again.

This is so morally wrong, both for society and the individual prisoners, that I hardly know where to begin.

OPERATION CHOKE POINT: THE GOVERNMENT’S COVERT WAR ON SMALL BUSINESS

Banks are sending notices of account closure out to small businesses across the country, to clients they’ve done business with for years, even decades. The reason? They often don’t provide one.
But a growing number of business owners believe they know why they’re being cut off from the financial system. It’s Operation Choke Point, ostensibly an attempt to crack down on fraudulent businesses, but in reality a dragnet that has ensnared innocent entrepreneurs unfairly classified as “high-risk” players.

TPP requires major sales effort to gain acceptance

New Zealanders are so deeply polarised on the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) that even if a good deal is finally negotiated it will take a major sales job on the Government's behalf so it's not viewed as a con job by many Kiwis.

This polarisation - which would be apparent to the Government's pollsters - may have been behind why John Key and Tim Groser stepped up the rhetoric on the pact this week.

Key used a sympathetic audience at Amcham's 50th anniversary celebrations in Auckland to stake out New Zealand's position on TPP and try to take the sting out of some of the wilder accusations which have gained currency in the absence of in-depth briefing from the Government side.

Crippling court costs force poverty-stricken people to 'plead guilty to crimes they didn't commit'

Poverty-stricken people are being encouraged to plead guilty to crimes they did not commit out of fear they will face crippling costs imposed by new financial penalties, leading lawyers, magistrates and campaigners have warned.

Legal experts have called for an urgent review of the criminal courts charge, which has been compared to “18th-century” forms of justice after being implemented earlier this year.

The new levy was introduced by the former Justice Secretary, Chris Grayling, to make criminals pay for the upkeep of the courts. Because the charge can be up to 10 times higher if someone is found guilty after pleading innocence, critics say it is undermining the justice system by encouraging impoverished defendants to plead guilty even if they have done nothing wrong.

Windows 10 is spying on almost everything you do – here’s how to opt out

Windows 10 is amazing. Windows 10 is fantastic. Windows 10 is glorious. Windows 10 is faster, smoother and more user-friendly than any Windows operating system that has come before it. Windows 10 is everything Windows 8 should have been, addressing nearly all of the major problems users had with Microsoft’s previous-generation platform in one fell swoop.

But there’s something you should know: As you read this article from your newly upgraded PC, Windows 10 is also spying on nearly everything you do.

About-Face: Autopsy Shows Police Shot St. Louis Teen in the Back

A young black man, who was killed by police in St. Louis this week, died from a gunshot to the back, according to the results of an autopsy.

An autopsy of 18-year-old Mansur Ball-Bey, who was killed by St. Louis policemen on Wednesday, has revealed that he died from a single wound in the back, media reports quoted police officials as saying.
It was earlier reported that St. Louis police officers killed the 18-year-old while conducting a search on his home.

Police claimed that two suspects had been attempting to flee, when the young man pointed a gun at officers and refused to drop it, prompting them to shoot and kill him. The other man remains on the run.

Can the States seize control of federal lands?

The term “Sagebrush Rebellion” is again showing up in newspapers across the American west as states seek more control over federal lands within their own boundaries. As with the original Sagebrush Rebellion of the 1970s and 1980s, several western states, where the federal government owns well over one-third of land within the states, have begun to look to more local control of lands as an answer to federal indifference, mismanagement, and outright hostility. In at least one case — Utah — the state has initiated a lawsuit in an effort to wrest more control of lands out of federal hands.

House lawsuit against Obama is turning into a real problem for the president

unprecedented House lawsuit against President Obama that was once derided as a certain loser looks stronger now and may soon deliver an early legal round to Republican lawmakers complaining of executive branch overreach.

A federal judge is expected to decide shortly whether to dismiss the suit, but thanks to an amended complaint and a recent Supreme Court ruling, the Republican-backed case has a much better chance of proceeding, attorneys agree.

At issue is whether the House may sue in court to defend its constitutionally granted "power of the purse" if the president spends money that was not appropriated by Congress.

The lawsuit alleges that Obama's top aides quietly claimed the power to spend $178 billion over the next decade to reimburse health insurers for covering the cost of co-payments for low-income people who buy subsidized insurance under the Affordable Care Act.

Webmaster's Commentary:

All financial bills are supposed to originate in the House of Representatives, period, end of discussion.

And Secretary Burwell; monies given to health insurers to compensate for fees under Obamacare are now "..akin to entitlements, so there was no need to seek additional approval from Congress"?!?

THAT is completely hubristic in the extreme, and I hope the lawsuit is successful against this administration on that reason alone.

Nestle has found itself more and more frequently in the glare of the California drought-shame spotlight than it would arguably care to be — though not frequently enough, apparently, for the megacorporation to have spontaneously sprouted a conscience. Drought-shaming worked sufficiently enough for Starbucks to stop bottling water in the now-arid state entirely, uprooting its operations all the way to Pennsylvania. But Nestle simply shrugged off public outrage and then upped the ante by increasing its draw from natural springs — most notoriously in the San Bernardino National Forest — with an absurdlyexpired permit.

‘You hate America': Cenk Uygur rips Kansas Repubs who fired woman for not going to church

Young Turks host Cenk Uygur blasted Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach (R) and his office on Thursday for allegedly firing a woman for not attending a church.

“You love religion so much you want even more restriction — you want everybody to follow whatever religion the people believe in. You got Iran, you got Saudi Arabia. You got choices, man,” Uygur said. “One of your choices is not Kansas, in the United States of America. Here, we do not do religious tests for office. You know who decided that? Our founding fathers, when they put it in the Constitution. If you don’t like it, get the f*ck out of the country. Leave. Go home right now, wherever that is for you. America’s not home for you. You hate America.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

To the best of my knowledge and belief, this firing was completely illegal on Constitutional grounds.

This woman has one hell of a lawsuit here, and I hope that she will find a pro bono attorney who will point out, in the lawsuit, that Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach has absolutely no right to attempt to force someone into a house of worship.

It is hubris, above and beyond the pale, that Kobach believed he personally had the right to force this decision on this woman.

And I say this as a Methodist Christian: faith should never be forced on anyone, like a mandatory vaccine; it should be an invitation, and solely on the basis of the willingness of the individual find a spiritual resonance with a faith community.

Location, Sensors, Voice, Photos?! Spotify Just Got Real Creepy With The Data It Collects On You

Music streaming market leader Spotify has decided that it wants to know a lot more about you. It wants to be able to access the sensor information on your phone so it can determine whether you’re walking, running or standing still. It wants to know your GPS coordinates, grab photos from your phone and look through your contacts too. And it may share that information with its partners, so a whole load of companies could know exactly where you are and what you’re up to.

This has all been made apparent by a rather significant update to the Spotify privacy policy, pushed out to users today. Upon opening the Spotify app up this morning, your reporter was greeted with a request to agree to the new conditions. A quick comparison with the previous privacy policy using the Wayback Machine showed some major changes had been made. I’m now considering whether the £10 I pay for a premium membership is worth it, given the amount of privacy I’d be giving away by consenting.

FBI HAD 12-PAGE FILE ON GEORGE CARLIN BECAUSE HE MADE JOKES ABOUT GOVERNMENT

Comedian George Carlin is known as one of the most controversial and outspoken entertainers of his time and, as far as the government is concerned, he could have possibly been a terrorist.

He went into great detail about corruption in government and business.

During the 1978 Supreme Court case, FCC v Pacifica Foundation, the government cited Carlin’s work as an example of profanity. They used his “Seven Dirty Words” segment to show the type of language that was being used in records and broadcasts. However, the government’s interest in his work did not stop there.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, let me get this straight. People who are funny, and tell the truth about this government in a funny way, have been designated "terrorists" by the American government since 1969?!?

Carlin was far more than just a comedian; he, in many ways, was a prophet, and looking at the complete dysfunction of US Federal government , he was absolutely right on so many levels.

Notes on Police Violence in America: St. Louis Police Kill 18-year-old, Send SWAT Teams against Demonstrators

The rapid police suppression of this minor protest in St. Louis reveals the advanced state of decay of democratic rights in the United States. When a crowd gathers to express anger and protest, the response of the state is increasingly to send in heavily armed, militarized police to intimidate protesters and quell social opposition.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As a Christian pacifist who abhors violence, I am watching in great alarm as minor protests get escalated, generally by police violence. As long as a protest remains peaceful, the police do not, Constitutionally, have a legal right to intervene.

It is painfully clear that the underlying problems of poverty, drugs, and crime, have not been dealt with by city and country officials in St. Louis at all, one year after the shooting of Kajieme Powell.

I would like to hope that the leadership of all faith communities, churches, synagogues, and mosques in St. Louis come together to create some meaningful dialogue with police, and develop a better sense of trust.

I would also like to encourage the leadership of all faith communities to come together to create a public/private partnership for education in jobs which cannot be outsourced to the cheapest international pools of labor (as has most manufacturing).

These alarming new passport laws are being snuck through Congress right now

Just the other day we wrote about a U.S. House “suspension” bill that would give the Secretary of State the authority to cancel your passport if he decided that you had “aided” an organization that he rules is terrorist.

There is no definition of what “aided” means, no chance to dispute the Secretary’s decision, no trial or presentation of evidence, and in fact any evidence the government has can be classified as secret so that you may not see it. In effect the Secretary of State can unilaterally consign you to internal exile and there is nothing you can do about it.

Because Members of the U.S. House were too cowardly to go on record voting for such an anti-American piece of legislation, the bill passed by a voice vote.

The documents argue (from the evidence provided by the FBI) that there is no basis for the indictment of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The FBI’s evidence clearly concludes that the bomb was in a black knapsack – whereas Dzhokhar’s was a white knapsack.

Law firm representing Hillary has ties to State Dept.

An attorney who worked for the same firm representing Hillary Clinton in the legal battle over her private emails now oversees the State Department's handling of those same emails.

Catherine Duval, formerly of Williams & Connolly, departed the Internal Revenue Service last year for the State Department, where she assumed responsibility for the release of Clinton's emails and for the agency's production of documents to the House Select Committee on Benghazi.

Rep. Jim Jordan, a member of both the select committee and the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said he sees similarities between the IRS investigation and the Benghazi investigation.

"It's interesting that Kate Duval was at Williams & Connolly, and then went to the IRS, and when she was at the IRS, she was the chief counsel when the 422 backup tapes were destroyed," Jordan told the Washington Examiner, referring to Duval's involvement in an investigation into IRS targeting of conservatives.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So the lawyer who helped "lose" Lois Lerner's emails is now hired to "lose" Hillary's?

Bill Gates Slips Up: “Vaccines Reduce Population Growth”

Vaccines reduce population growth, according to Bill Gates. He comes right out and says it. In the above video clip at the 0:28 mark, you can hear Gates say that “the benefits (of vaccines) are there in terms of reducing sickness, reducing population growth.” He then adds that “it really allows society a chance to take care of itself”, which means of course, to those in the know, that it really allows the sick, poor and weak to be wiped out by the elite New World Order eugenicists – all under the guise of modern medicine and “saving lives”. Society is not taking care of itself. That’s a euphemism, and it’s also a complete inversion of the truth, which is that vaccines reduce population growth, and therefore, ruthless pyschopaths are killing undesirables.

Who Wins in a Currency Devaluation War?

The paradox in the question of who wins in a currency war presupposes that any participating combatant can actually claim victory. If winning means ending up with the most cash, when the value of the money as a store of tangible wealth is debased, it is doubtful anyone can be declared the victor. The absurdity of lowering the purchasing power of a countries currency to enable exports to be more competitive is economic sacrilege that the heretical “Free Trade” mythos is based upon. Without a reliable standard of objective comparison, floating currencies maneuver their exchange rates to disguise internal imbalances in their own political and economic expenditures.

APD officers will stand trial for murder in shooting of James Boyd

Judge Neil Candelaria on Tuesday ruled there is probable cause for two Albuquerque police officers to stand trial in the 2014 shooting death of a homeless man.

Retired officer Keith Sandy and officer Dominique Perez will face charges of 2nd-degree murder, voluntary manslaughter and battery in court. The officers fatally shot James Boyd during a standoff in the foothills.

Liberals now claim POW/MIA flags are 'racist' and should be memory-holed with the Confederate flag

The Left-wing extremist attacks on traditional American culture and attempts to rewrite or simply bury history are advancing apace, as the latest salvo is launched against the "racist" POW/MIA flag, which one mainstream media writer now thinks should go the way of the Confederate flag.

Writing in something called The Washington Spectator, an organ of "The Public Concern Foundation" – whatever that is (considering the organization's stated website listed on this page won't open) – "historian" Rick Perlstein, called the POW/MIA flag a "racist" symbol "useful only to venal right-wing politicians who wish to exploit hatred by calling it heritage."

This December, Agenda 21 is Getting an “Update”

By Rusticus

From November 30th to December 11th of 2015, a consortium of world “leaders” from 190 countries will gather in Paris, France as part of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The occasion? The much maligned Neomalthusian “environmental” program, known as “Agenda 21” by its original visionaries as well as its opponents, will be of drinking age, its “sustainable” protocols having been officially adopted in 1994.

So, too, is this UN Convention in Paris a celebration of the Kyoto Protocol’s numerological accomplishments, as COP21/CPM11 marks the 11th year of the emission regulation’s force as “International Law” (as of 2004).

The purpose of these festivities, however, is hardly mere ceremony; as Agenda 21 comes of age, the burdens it places upon those living beneath its yoke are also maturing...

32 COPS, FIRED 600 BULLETS INTO 1 CAR FULL OF HOSTAGES, KILLING A HOSTAGE

Discharging a firearm in circumstances that endanger innocent persons or hostages, is prohibited by police departments. So why on Earth would 32 cops chase down a car full of hostages, fire into that car killing a hostage, and even fire directly over their colleagues in the process? The answer to that question, according to a detailed report released Monday by the Police Foundation, is because of a “lack of planning.”

Economists Brace for September: “Building Up to Catastrophe of Historic Proportions”

An outright panic has taken hold over many who see September 2015 as a convergence of ominous events. RT profiled several who are bracing for next month’s signposts of doom:

Jeff Berwick, Canadian entrepreneur and editor of The Dollar Vigilante, recently told Gordon T. Long in an interview: “There’s enough going on in September to have me incredibly curious and concerned about what’s going to happen.”

[…]

Doug Casey, [head of Casey Research said] “With these stupid governments printing trillions and trillions of new currency units,” Casey, describing the US Federal Reserve’s quantitative easing program, “it’s building up to a catastrophe of historic proportions.”

US Military Prepares Drastic Escalation of Global Drone Program

Citing exclusive interviews with senior U.S. officials, the WSJ's Gordon Lubold reports that the number of daily flights by aircraft such as MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper drones will surge an estimated 50 percent. Further, the expanded drone program will "draw on the Army, as well as Special Operations Command and government contractors," in addition to the U.S. Air Force, which currently carries out most of the operations for the Pentagon and Central Intelligence Agency.

Lobuld reports: "The Pentagon envisions a combined effort that by 2019 would have the Air Force continue flying 60 drone flights a day, the Army contributing as many as 16 and the military’s Special Forces Command pitching in with as many as four. Government contractors would be hired to fly older Predator drones on as many as 10 flights a day, none of them strike missions."

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have to wonder; how much of this increase in drones will be domestic, as well as international?

And how far a stretch is it for this President to have his legal eagles determine that extrajudicial assassinations in this country are just as legal as they are overseas?!?

Unfortunately, in light of the fact that Obama has already decided he is capable of being judge, jury, and (proxy) executioner, not much.

FLASHBACK - The Death of Vincent Foster

This is the story that nobody dares touch. This is the story that ended my career in Hollywood back in 1994.

Despite having reported the discovery of Dr. Haut's signed report confirming the existence of a second wound to Vincent Foster's neck, radio host Rush Limbaugh to this very day refers to Vincent Foster's death as a suicide.

Even Matt Drudge, when presented with the FBI records proving that the FBI fraudulently manufactured Lisa Foster's recognition of the gun found at Fort Marcy Park, refused to get involved, opting instead for a story accusing Sidney Blumenthal of domestic violence (for which Drudge was then sued and made famous).

Webmaster's Commentary:

Larry Nichols finally got back in touch with me and we will be re-scheduling his interview. Meanwhile, his interview on yesterday's Alex Jones show has re-ignited public suspicion that White House Deputy Counsel Vincent Foster was murdered, and the body dumped in Fort Marcy Park and declared a suicide by an all-too-complicit FBI.

Not to steal Alex Jones' thunder, but we had that memo about Foster found in his car years ago.

FLASHBACK - The New McCarthyism

Of course, what was really involved was money. War is good for business. Business had been great during WW2 and the newly created "Cold War" was just a way to keep business good. The Military Industrial Complex NEEDED Hollywood to demonize the Soviets. Otherwise, too many people were going to ask why we were being told to be so afraid of them, and few in the government had a really convincing answer for that question. So, in order to perpetuate the Cold War, those in Hollywood who might sympathize with the designated villains had to be removed; their ruined lives a small price to pay for unending access to the taxpayers' wallets.

CHICAGO, LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENTS HAVE BEEN USING 'STINGRAYS ON STEROIDS' FOR OVER A DECADE

More evidence has surfaced showing local law enforcement agencies are using high-powered surveillance equipment -- equipment originally designed for the military and highly-recommended by the NSA. Ali Winston and the Center for Investigative Reporting have obtained documents showing both Chicago and Los Angeles have used "dirt boxes"(DRT -- Digital Receiver Technology "boxes:" high-powered cell site simulators) since 2005.

In Chicago, the Digital Receiver Technology equipment was purchased in 2005 with funds collected in asset forfeiture cases. In Los Angeles, the police department purchased a package of Digital Receiver Technology equipment with $260,000 in homeland security grant funding. The sole-source purchase was approved unanimously by the Los Angeles City Council in 2005. Both departments also use StingRays, a more commonly known cell-site simulator manufactured by the Florida-based Harris Corp.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Yes, police departments can now surveille to their hearts' content; but does this technology make the citizens living in LA or Chicago actually more safe?!?

I would tend to doubt that completely.

IF VACCINES ARE SAFE, WHY HAS THE US GOV. PAID OUT $3 BILLION TO VACCINE-INJURED FAMILIES?

Vaccines are a very imperfect science, despite the good intentions of healthcare providers and parents seeking to protect their children from disease. Adverse, life-changing and deadly effects of vaccines are more common than ever. In fact, the US government has had to pay out over $3 billion to vaccine-injured families since 1986. Still think vaccines are safe?

The Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) lists several negative outcomes of vaccines. Many of these side effects are worse than the diseases these vaccines are for! VAERS reports that the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine is “linked to febrile seizures, which are a type of seizure that occurs in infants and young children in association with fever.” While these seizures hold no long-term consequences, they can be a frightening experience.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am not a rabid "antivaxxer"; when Mike had his bout with pneumonia last year, I did have the pneumovax vaccine, which doesn't prevent you from catching pneumonia, but does keep it from killing you.

But all the vaccines mandated for kids before they ever see the inside of a classroom in kindergarten at age 5: YIKES!!

A very smart mom locally made sure her kids were vaccinated, but never with combinations of vaccines, which have never been tested as to adverse reactions from the combinations of vaccines into one shot.

Crimes Against Humanity: .01% poverty-murder over 400 million people since 1995, more than all wars in recorded history

*hyperlinks/video live at source*

“Crimes against humanity” include any of the following acts committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack directed against any civilian population, with knowledge of the attack:
murder;
extermination;
enslavement;…
the crime of apartheid;
other inhumane acts of a similar character intentionally causing great suffering or serious bodily or mental injury.
– International Criminal Court (ICC)

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) (1), the hunger-ending organizations RESULTS (2), and Bread for the World (3) estimate that 15 million people die each year from preventable poverty, of whom 11 million are children under the age of five. Jeffrey Sachs says the total deaths are closer to 8 million (4). Either way, poverty causes more human destruction every year than those claimed in the Holocaust.

Charns: Forms show Durham police officer shot himself

DURHAM:
The defense attorney for Carlos Antonio Riley released documents he says show a Durham police officer shot himself in a struggle during a traffic stop three years ago.

At a press conference Monday, attorney Alex Charns said the documents show the Durham Police Department intended from the start to pin the shooting on Riley despite what the evidence said.

A jury last week acquitted Riley of all but a robbery charge tied to the Dec. 18, 2012, traffic stop that left Officer Kelly Stewart with a gunshot wound to his right thigh.

This is What an Arrest for a Bicycle Helmet “Violation” Looks Like in a Police State

A video uploaded to Facebook last week shows the ridiculous nature of the American police state.

According to the video uploader, the police in the video below came to this house because they saw a teenager riding his bike with no hands and without a helmet. Not wanting to be kidnapped or killed, the teenager rode his bike home after he saw the police.

When police showed up, you’d think they were responding to a bank robbery or child kidnapping. However, the half-dozen public servants were only there to extort money from a child for not wearing a helmet.

9-minute video: All Orwellian pieces of Earth’s bizarre jigsaw puzzle match what ‘Big Picture’?

“By means of ever more effective methods of mind-manipulation, the democracies will change their nature; the quaint old forms -- elections, parliaments, Supreme Courts and all the rest -- will remain. The underlying substance will be a new kind of non-violent totalitarianism. All the traditional names, all the hallowed slogans will remain exactly what they were in the good old days. Democracy and freedom will be the theme of every broadcast and editorial. Meanwhile the ruling oligarchy and its highly trained elite of soldiers, policemen, thought-manufacturers and mind-manipulators will quietly run the show as they see fit.” - Aldous Huxley, Brave New World Revisited (1958), Section XII

Reducing prison time for violent offenders may significantly reduce mass incarceration

WASHINGTON, August 17 (UPI) -- The United States incarcerates more people than any country in the world, 2.2 million at last count. As calls to reform the American penal system have intensified, a Washington think tank has created an interactive tool shedding light on what policy changes may be most effective in controlling the prison population.
In a telephone interview, Peterson said "You can't just say non-violent first time drug offenders -- we need to let them out of prison and that is going to magically solve the problem. That is not really the answer."

The answer these Brainiacs have come up with is to let violent offenders out early, like, you know, murders and rapists and robbers! OH! MY!
