Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna Calls for Bipartisan Coalition to Work with Trump on Ending Foreign Wars: ‘I Think We’re All on the Same Team’ As Americans

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), a progressive Democrat who is the co-chairman of the 2020 Democrat presidential campaign for Vermont independent Sen. Bernie Sanders, told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview that he hopes a bipartisan coalition comes together to work with President Donald Trump to end a number of wars and U.S. military conflicts worldwide.
Ro Khanna argued that if the United States stops its backing of Saudi Arabia in Yemen’s civil war, finally ends the war in Afghanistan, withdraws troops from Syria once and for all, resists temptations by some to get militarily involved in Venezuela, and completes successful peace negotiations with North Korea, then the United States could better invest resources wasted abroad into rebuilding America’s infrastructure.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think this Representative's ideas on this are absolutely terrific; unfortunately, with so many Congressional representatives, from both sides of the aisle, being invested in, or backed by, the military industrial complex, I don't know if he will be able to make this one "fly".

The question is, how many of these manufacturing companies could be re-tooled so quickly to make peace-centric items that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to do?!?

Think: the mythical hero in Iron Man, Tony Stark who, when he understands just what his companies' weapons are doing to real people, wants to shut Stark Industries down, and have the place retooled to make peace-centric products, only to get blind-sided by the business partner, who wants to get him out of the way, permanently?!?

Representative Khanna, this is where you and your team have to be very inventive, transparent, and very positive, to demonstrate how this could be done.

CHINA-STYLE TOTAL SURVEILLANCE TECHNOLOGY COMES TO DETROIT

TN has repeatedly warned that the China model of Technocracy and Scientific Dictatorship was coming to America, and here it is. Detroit, New Orleans and San Diego are all bent on total surveillance of their citizens. ? TN Editor
The push to turn America’s cities into Chinese-style surveillance networks has found a new partner in Detroit, Michigan

The only difference between what is happening in San Diego and what is happening in Detroit is, they are not using the same smart street lights to spy on everyone. Detroit uses Intellistreets a company known to have strong ties to Homeland Security.

What started out as a ‘voluntary’ police-cam share program in Saginaw, Michigan has morphed into a massive 1000 surveillance camera network which includes 500 businesses in Detroit.

Detroit’s Project Green Light, spies on people in real-time at gas stations, retail stores and public housing.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is really a reprehensible move by those in government, and almost feels like we have devolved from the attitude and intent of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, into true Code Napoleon law, where one was automatically considered guilty until proven innocent.

GIVING ISRAEL THE GOLAN HEIGHTS IS THE PRICE PAID BY ASSAD TO STAY IN POWER

Trump’s decision not only preserves the status quo and legitimises Israel’s occupation, but is also tantamount to declaring war on international norms, represented by the UN and international law. At a stroke he has imposed the law of the jungle on the Middle East and its people.

Whether the Golan Heights was sold for money or a guarantee of the presidency for Hafez Al-Assad, or both, is not really the issue. Either way, the betrayal is clear. The result was Israel’s occupation of the Golan Heights and Hafez Al-Assad becoming president after his military coup against President Nureddin Al-Atassi in 1971.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is an interesting observation; but the real question, and the true "power behind the throne" behind Syria, is Russia.

And I have to ask; will Russia allow this to remain a stable situation?!? My sense is that President Putin is, by both nature and intelligence, a cautious man, and will simply allow this to continue. But if there are any more "nicks and scrapes" against the sovereignty of Syria in other parts of the country, by either Israel and/or the US (which still has troops in Syria, BTW) Putin may "turn loose", militarily, on both entities.

I would like to hope (and pray) that such a scenario will not happen; this country's military doesn't have the weaponry; the troop strength; the money, or the manufacturing, to insure a positive outcome to a war against Russia in Syria (or anywhere else).

TAXES OF UKRAINE’S POROSHENKO SHOW HIS INCOME JUMPED 10,000% THANKS TO ROTHSCHILD TRUST

The annual income gains of Petro Poroshenko, who is currently fighting for a second presidential term in Ukraine, saw a nearly hundredfold surge in 2018, the president’s tax documents reveal.
According to the Ukrainian unified register of asset and income declarations, Poroshenko’s fortune totaled 1.56 billion hryvnia (US$57 million) over 12 months through March 31, which is 95 times as much as he reported in the same period a year ago. In 2017, Poroshenko’s gains reportedly reached 16.3 million hryvnia ($600,000).

Most of Poroshenko’s income – around $40.4 million – reportedly comes from return on investment in Zurich-based Rothschild Trust Schweiz, a trust subsidiary of Rothschild Bank AG. The Ukrainian president also earned $14.7 million in profit from the Prime Assets Capital investment fund, while returns on domestic government loan bonds amounted to nearly a million dollars.

Webmaster's Commentary:

On the 21st, watch those ballot boxes get stuffed more intensely than does a roasted goose at Christmas in a desperate, last ditch attempt to keep Poroshenko in power!!!

I have to wonder if all the people conspired to put this knucklehead in power (like President Obama, Washington was behind Ukraine Coup; Obama admits that it was a US -brokered deal in support of regime changeare experiencing "getters remorse" by this point in time.

Because IF Poroshenko does not win the referendum, the next leadership in Kiev may not be quite so warm to the US and its minions, considering the amount of heartburn and graft the nation has had to endure, post-coup.

Ukraine, at that point, may see the logic in repositioning its relationship with Russia, and not view it an adversary, but a very significant friend, "with benefits"; and were I President Trump right now, that could be one of my worst nightmares of the coming runoff.

HOUSTON CHEMICAL DISASTER ZONE REMAINS NO-GO TWO WEEKS AFTER BLAZE

Two weeks after a chemical storage complex near Houston erupted in flames and menaced tens of thousands of people with dangerous fumes, the site remains too hazardous for investigators to approach.

Intercontinental Terminal Co. is still trying to drain millions of gallons of volatile oil byproducts from tanks damaged in the four-day blaze that began on March 17. The ground around the tanks is also saturated in dangerous fluids, severely restricting access to the facility 20 miles (32 kilometers) east of downtown Houston. On Friday, the company said they may be able to allow some access early this week.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Proper maintenance of a site like this, is a proven preventer of these kinds of disasters.

When these disasters happen, it is usually because of shoddy, penny-pinching management, in which there is an element of defiant denial, that something like this could possibly ever happen to their company; until it does.

GOOGLE HELPS GOVERNMENT CONDUCT WARRANTLESS SEARCHES, ALLEGES EPIC

The Electronic Privacy Information Center (“EPIC”), a civil liberties group based in Washington D.C., filed an amicus brief in the United States vs. Wilson case concerning Google scanning billions of users’ files for unlawful content and then sending that information to law enforcement agencies.

BYPASSING THE FOURTH AMENDMENT
EPIC alleges that law enforcement is using Google, a private entity, to bypass the Fourth Amendment, which requires due process and probable cause before “searching or seizing” someone’s property.

As a private entity, Google doesn’t have to abide by the Fourth Amendment as the government has to, so it can do those mass searches on its behalf and then give the government the results. The U.S. government has been increasingly using this strategy to bypass Fourth Amendment protections of U.S. citizens and to expand its warrantless surveillance operations further.

IMAGE HASHES VS. IMAGE MATCHES

Webmaster's Commentary:

That unholy triumverate of Google, Facebook and Twitter, now have extraordinary powers with which to punish innocent, ordinary citizens, and have collectively become 4th branch of the US government; these now include the Judiciary, Congress, the White House, and Surveillance.

WAVE OF HATE-CRIME HOAXES STOKES PANIC IN PORTLAND

Jussie Smollett isn't alone in trying to fake a hate crime for personal or selfish reasons. Hate crime hoaxes happen more often than many well-meaning Americans probably realize, and often they're orchestrated as part of a trend intended to provoke hysteria and panic. Sometimes, innocent conservatives guilty of nothing more than living in the area where the "crimes" allegedly occurred are falsely accused of carrying out the attacks, and subjected to a storm of online threats and abuse. The political subtext of these false reports is easy to spot. Just like the Smollett case, they're intended to portray Trump supporters and conservatives as violent bigots and homophobes willing to indiscriminately target members of the trans and gay communities.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Folks, let us please engage, rather than enrage, people who might be at some level, just a little different from who we are, or think differently about a huge number of things.

Because at the end of the day, we're all humans, walking through this incredible experience called life, together. So in light of this, let's hold hands, rather than smack someone with them, and be a blessing to everyone around us.

We all should be lifting people up, rather than putting them down for petty reasons, because are all brothers and sisters in this journey.

HERE COMES THE SPLINTERNET: HOW THE EU IS HELPING BREAK APART THE INTERNET

...this latest effort is hamfisted in the extreme, and may have the effect of splintering the internet beyond what seemed possible even a few years ago. In the wake of GDPR’s passage, Europeans couldn’t visit the websites of some US publishers for months as new privacy frameworks were put into place. That sort of thing may be about to become a lot more common. The time has now come to speak of the internets, plural. And to get around, you might just need a passport.

Basically, as Newton notes, it just might not be worth it for many sites to serve EU visitors:

SENATE DEMOCRATS TO INTRODUCE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT TO ABOLISH ELECTORAL COLLEGE

Leading Democratic senators are expected to introduce a constitutional amendment Tuesday to abolish the Electoral College, adding momentum to a long-shot idea that has been gaining steam among 2020 presidential candidates.

Sen. Brian Schatz of Hawaii plans to introduce the measure, along with Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois, the No. 2-ranking Democrat in the Senate, and Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Also signed on to the legislation is Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York, one of a growing number of presidential candidates who have called for electing presidents by popular vote, even though changing the Constitution is seen as virtually impossible today.

A constitutional amendment may be proposed by a two-thirds supermajority in both the House (about 290 votes) and Senate (67 votes) and requires ratification by 38 states.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We knew this was coming; the only question is, why so late, after the 2016 elections?!?

I think that the Desperate Dementocrats truly believed that the Mueller investigation and Russiagate were going to get President Trump impeached and thrown out of office.

They, and the alleged "news outlets" which supported them, are now paying, in spades for that miserable attempt to swat down the man who actually won the election, President Trump, but will never get the votes of smaller, less populated states who are protected by the Electoral College in time to affect the 2020 elections.

FORMER US INTELLIGENCE AGENCY HACKERS HELPED UAE SPY ON AL JAZEERA CHAIRMAN AND OTHER JOURNALISTS

A group of American hackers who once worked for United States intelligence agencies helped the United Arab Emirates spy on a BBC host, the chairman of Al Jazeera and other prominent Arab media figures during a tense 2017 confrontation pitting the UAE and its allies against Qatar, a Reuters investigation has found.

The American operatives worked for Project Raven, a secret Emirati intelligence programme that spied on dissidents, fighters and political opponents of the UAE monarchy. A Reuters investigation in January revealed Project Raven's existence and inner workings, including the fact that it surveilled a British activist and several unnamed US journalists.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is quite an operation, but again shows the need for common sense agreements on the common issues countries of the Middle East are trying to solve; unfortunately, this wasn't any kind of solution to the inter-country pressures the governments of the Middle East are trying to resolve.

FINGER VEIN VENDING MACHINES AND A GLOBAL BIOMETRIC POLICE DATABASE

Gone are the days when you could use a "slug" to purchase a can of soda, because today's vending machines will know who you are and your criminal record before you purchase an item.

American Green Vending Machine (AGM) uses finger vein readers to identify each customer.

"The American Green Smart System is an age verification system that allows the opportunity of merchandising and selling age restricted products. American Green’s technology interface is one of a kind and does some pretty cool things such as vein verification biometrics."

Customers must register their personal biometrics and information with AGM before they are allowed to purchase anything.

What makes this story so disturbing, is corporate America's rush to put biometric scanners everywhere.

Imagine in the not too distant future, your new car using a built-in TSA biometric scanner to identify you and your family before you even enter a sports stadium.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am sure that there is a database on all of us right now, but I have to wonder; at what point will these databases start to link up, and deny us access to the simplest, most innocent things we may want to buy?

Because I think that this will be happening sooner rather than later.

Acting NZ Prime Minister Winston Peters says the gun buyback programme could cost $300m

Acting Prime Minister Winston Peters says the Government's gun buyback programme could cost $100 million more than had previously been expected.

When announcing the changes to New Zealand's gun laws last month, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said the cost of the buyback scheme would be between $100 million and $200 million.

But this morning, Peters told RNZ that the full cost could be much higher than that.

"It's better to prepare for the worst and think of the upper limit. It could cost – and this is an extravagant statement but it may well be true – it could cost up to $300 million to set what is wrong, right."

NZ Government to gangs: Hand in your military-style semi-automatics or face 5 years' jail

*As we say here "Yeah Right!"

People with military-style semi-automatic (MSSA) weapons and assault rifles have until the end of September to hand them over to police or face five years' jail.

And Police Minister Stuart Nash has issued a stern warning to gangs who have said they will keep their MSSAs: hand them in or face a new penalty of up to five years' jail.

The Arms (Prohibited Firearms, Magazines and Parts) Amendment Bill has been introduced to Parliament and will have its first reading tomorrow, Acting Prime Minister Winston Peters and Nash announced today.

Newspaper editor stands by NZ PM 'dumb-as-a-plank' remark in gun reform story

The editor of a fishing and outdoors newspaper is standing by a story about gun reforms which labels the Prime Minister "dumb-as-a-plank" and calls the Police Minister her "lapdog".

Fishing and Outdoors' April edition takes a not-so-subtle jab at Jacinda Ardern and her call to ban semi-automatic assault rifles following the terrorist attacks in Christchurch.

Ardern has also been vocal in her support of a gun register which she last week told media, "absolutely makes sense".

But the decision to ban military-style semi-automatics and assault rifles, legislation of which is currently being rushed through Parliament, has angered some gun owners.

"Our Dumb-as-a-Plank New Zealand Prime Minister and lapdog New Zealand Police Minister have announced a ban on assault rifles that are and have been banned for the last 'thirty-five years'.

Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg calls for global internet regulations

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg called for new global regulations governing the internet, recommending overarching rules on hateful and violent content, election integrity, privacy and data portability.

In a statement that was also published as an op-ed in The Washington Post, Zuckerberg said the company is seeking regulations that would set baselines for prohibited content and require companies to build systems for keeping harmful content to a minimum.

"We have a responsibility to keep people safe on our services," he said. "That means deciding what counts as terrorist propaganda, hate speech and more. We continually review our policies with experts, but at our scale we'll always make mistakes and decisions that people disagree with."

(NZ)National Leader Simon Bridges backs hate speech review but warns against limiting free speech

*Can't let a good crisis go to waste...Welcome to Communist NZ lead by a Left Wing Govt*

National Leader Simon Bridges is backing the Government's plans to review New Zealand's hate speech law but is warning against limiting free speech in the process.

Over the weekend, Justice Minister Andrew Little said he would fast-track a review of the Human Rights Act, which could see a crackdown on hate speech.

He said the current hate speech laws were not strong enough and needed to change.

Bridges said he agreed with Little having a look at the law and told RNZ: "I think he is doing the right thing having a review".

But he warned against fast-tracking legislation that would change the law.

Anti-Government Speech Is Still Protected Speech: Rutherford Institute Challenges Law Allowing Gov’t to Censor Speech It Finds Distasteful

Pushing back against a law that allows the government to censor speech it finds distasteful or immoral, The Rutherford Institute has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to strike down a federal statute that allows the government to reject trademark applications for “scandalous” brand names that some might find offensive. In this particular case, the government rejected as immoral or scandalous a trademark application for streetwear brand “FUCT” (an acronym for “FRIENDS U CAN’T TRUST”) that serves as artist Erik Brunetti’s commentary on the need to challenge government authority and societal assumptions. In an amicus brief filed with the Court in Iancu v. Brunetti, Rutherford Institute attorneys contend that the statute violates the most fundamental First Amendment guarantees by investing the government with the power to act as an arbiter of good taste and censor speech it finds offensive or with which it disagrees.

Iraqi President Claims No ‘Serious’ Opposition to US Troops Staying

n comments that are likely exactly what the US wants to hear, Iraqi President Barham Salih claimed that he sees no “serious” opposition to US troops staying in Iraq, and believes there is a general consensus that the US can stay “as long as it is necessary.”

This would be good news for the Pentagon, where officials want to stay in Iraq effectively forever. Is it true though? Not from the comments coming out of materially every other major Iraqi official.

MPs from every major Shi’ite political bloc in parliament have demanded a timeline for the US troop withdrawal, and with the US pushing for action against Shi’ite militias, they’ve got grudges with most of the key factions now.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Does anyone in this government and military remember Muktada Al-Sadr, the most powerful person in Iraq who does not hold any office?!? The guy who threatened US troops with a statement that if they were not out by the SECOND printed on that SOFA agreement, that all US troops would be "fair game" for his Mahdi Army?!?

I would seriously appreciate it if someone in the bowels of power in DC chose not to underestimate this guy, please; and without his blessing, this could go "mammary Glands UP" in a heartbeat.

Many US Troops Will Stay in Syria, Officials Confirm

nitially announced as a total withdrawal from Syria by President Trump, the administration has backpedaled repeatedly, to the point where a large portion of US forces will be remaining on the ground in Syria, and about 1,000 or the current 2,000 are liable to spend the bulk of 2019 in Syria.

Officials say the current plan, such as it is, would be to draw down to about 1,000 by early May, and then “pause” for about six months. Then, there would be a consideration of withdrawing some more troops, perhaps getting down to 400.

This is why there were reports the US intends to keep 1,000 troops in Syria, because they do, and why the administration’s objections, and arguments that the plan is still 400, is highly misleading, as that’s now a best-case scenario.

Webmaster's Commentary:

But what, please, is supposed to happen after this "pause"?!?

Is something really nasty supposed to happen in November of this year, as this will be the time the "pause" is supposed to end?!?

But there is something upon the wind here, which is neither peaceful, nor of the will of the Syrian people; something wicked this way comes in Syria, and I think that is a pretty reasonable statement at this time.

New York Times’ reports that Jewish donors shape Democrats’ regressive position on Israel

?
?
?
?
?
?
This weekend the New York Times breaks one of the biggest taboos, describing the responsibility of Jewish donors for the Democratic Party’s slavish support for Israel. Nathan Thrall’s groundbreaking piece repeats a lot of data we’ve reported here and says in essence that it really is about the Benjamins, as Rep. Ilhan Omar said so famously.

The donor class of the party is overwhelmingly Jewish, and Jews are still largely wed to Zionism– that’s the nut.

Though that party is breaking up. Thrall’s labors are minimized by the New York Times with the headline “The Battle Over B.D.S.,” but his message is that the progressive base has a highly-critical view of Israel that the leadership has refused to reflect, and that’s about to change. We’re inside the tent. The party is going to have to reflect pro-Palestinian positions. Ben Rhodes tells Thrall that the moment of overcoming the fear of the pro-Israel lobby (as the Cuba fear was overcome) is about to happen.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would certainly appreciate it, if Thrall is correct; but what about the Republican Party's slavish devotion to Israel as well, no matter how many times it has been horrendously wrong on its foreign policy issues?!?

DEA Never Checked If Its Massive Surveillance Operations Are Legal, Watchdog Says

The Drug Enforcement Administration skirted numerous legal checks on a trio of bulk data collection programs dating back to the early 1990s, according to an internal watchdog.

In a heavily redacted, 144-page report published Thursday, the Justice Department Inspector General revealed the administration failed to fully assess the legal basis for three massive international surveillance operations that ran largely unchecked from 1992 to 2013. Two of the programs remain active in some form today.

Under one initiative, which investigators called “Program A,” the administration used “non-target specific” subpoenas to force multiple telecom providers to provide metadata on every phone call made from the U.S. to as many as 116 countries with “a nexus to drugs.” Investigators found some companies also provided the officials with data on all calls made between those foreign countries.

Trump says may discuss Venezuela with Putin soon

US President Donald Trump said he may discuss the situation in Venezuela with Russian President Vladimir Putin soon, Reuters reported on Saturday.

"We will probably be talking at some point," the US leader told reporters at his estate in Florida. "I’ll be talking to a lot of people - perhaps President Putin, perhaps President Xi of China."

US national security adviser John Bolton said on Friday that Trump was set to talk with Putin by phone soon. He also said his country viewed the deployment of other states’ troops in Venezuela as a threat to the region.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Putin may well be laughing his head off, considering that the US "blinked and missed" the window for accomplishing anything militarily achievable in Venezuela.

Right now, Putin has President Trump "by the sensitive bits"; Russian troops, who were ordered to Venezuela by Putin, will not leave until Putin tells them to; and right now, that means, indefinitely.

So, what is President Trump prepared to do, fight Russia in Venezuela for its vast oil reserves?!? I would like to hope (and pray) that the people around him, are not prodding him to do so.

And I say that because, right now, the US military doesn't have the manufacturing, the money, the weaponry, or the troop strength, to insure a positive result against Russia and/or China.

An invasion into Venezuela now, is an utterly, a no-win situation, and I would like to hope that the people around Trump have the smarts to see this.

Pompeo wants NATO to take ‘actions’ to help Ukraine

Marines from the U.S. and Ukraine standing together after a company-level attack during the land portion of Exercise Sea Breeze, Saturday, July 14, 2018. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said NATO allies could take additional steps when allies convene next week to help Ukraine defend against Russia.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What on earth is Pompeo speaking about, and what "concrete steps" from NATO is he expecting?!?

That NATO will go to war against Russia in behalf of Ukraine, which is not
yet a NATO signatory?!?

I would like to hope (and pray) that NATO will not fall for any foolishness from this guy.

Having said that, however, if military exercises are supposed to start next week involving Ukraine, we may well be looking at some kind of " false flag"against it, to attempt to ratchet up support for Ukraine against the allegedly "evil empire" of Russia.

MEDICAL POLICE STATE is here: New York county bans unvaccinated people from all public spaces… “imprisons” those who refuse to take dangerous injections

Government officials exploiting disease outbreaks to scare people into getting profitable vaccines is nothing new, but it has taken on a very concerning twist in New York this week. Rockland County has just declared a state of emergency, taking the opportunity to ban unvaccinated children from going to public places as a measles outbreak there enters its 26th week.

As of midnight on Wednesday, anyone under the age of 18 who hasn’t been vaccinated against measles will not be allowed in public places. The ban, which will expire in 30 days, won’t apply to those who have documented medical reasons for not getting the vaccine. Parents have said they were given just 12 hours’ notice before the ban went in to effect, leaving very little time for planning their response.

10-year-old girl dies after classroom fight

A 10-year-old girl has died two days after she was injured in a fight with a fellow pupil at her primary school.

RaNiya Wright was found unresponsive by staff at the Forest Hills Elementary School in the South Carolina of Walterboro, after she got into an altercation with another Year 5 student on Monday.

They called the emergency services and RaNiya was taken to hospital where she remained alive, until she passed away on Wednesday.

The other student involved in the fight, who has not been identified, has been suspended from the school, according to NBC News.

“Because this is an ongoing investigation, we ask that the community understands that the information we can share is limited,” district officials said in a statement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Condolences to the child's parents and family; but what I am curious about, is why these kinds of incidents generally happen in US public schools, not at Montessori, Kumon, or Waldorf schools?!?

And what about the moral values of the family of the ten year old who killed her?!? Is killing your schoolmate something that the family of the accused might feel was OK?!?

IF our Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, wants to make education in this country on a par with that of Asia, or Scandinavia, she had better start privatizing education, both for the reason of lowered violence, and better education.

Unionized teachers will scream, because Private school teachers get less money than they do; but the outcomes they provide for their students are, generally, quite a bit lower than those of private schools.

US Forces-Korea Warns It’s Ill-Prepared for Collapse of Diplomacy With DPRK

The top US commander in South Korea told Congress Wednesday that US forces on the peninsula wouldn’t be ready if diplomacy between the US and DPRK suddenly collapsed and the military standoff returned. His fears reflected a Western belief that Pyongyang is withdrawing from denuclearization plans, but in Korea, the situation isn’t so clear.

US Army Gen. Robert Abrams, the commander of US Forces Korea, told the House Armed Services Committee Wednesday that, so long as the diplomatic push for denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula continues, his forces have enough intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance resources to maintain an adequate defense of South Korea and detect an attack from the North. However, if things got worse and the atmosphere suddenly returned to the hostile tension of the past, "then our stance, our posture is not adequate to provide us an unblinking eye to give us early warning and indicators."

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF true, this has to be remedied, and quickly; having some actual, sane, and moral diplomacy would probably help.

The North Koreans gave on a few things on their side, but US foreign policy here seems to have wanted to give nothing in return, which is a really bad place to be, and particularly dealing with the reality that the concept of "face", or personal reputation, is critically important, in Asian cultures.

President Trump's "My way or the highway" attitude may have worked well for him in the corporate sphere, but in terms of face-to-face negotiations, it cannot and will not, work.

His approach to North Korea, has been an epic fail because of that, and I frankly think we may well be on the knife-edge of a military confrontation with North Korea (which most probably means military confrontation against China) if these negotiations cannot be salvaged.

Many Are Calling For The Media To Be Held Legally Accountable For Relentlessly Lying To The American People About Russian Collusion

Now that the Mueller investigation is over and his report has shown that there was absolutely no collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government, the focus is rapidly turning to those that endlessly propagated extremely damaging conspiracy theories about the president of the United States. For 675 days, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS and NBC engaged in a fake news binge unlike anything that we have ever seen before in all of U.S. history. They relentlessly pushed out news story after news story touting that we would soon have “evidence” that Trump had colluded with the Russians when there was no evidence at all. They kept telling us that “indictments are coming”, that “the noose is tightening” and that “the walls are closing in on this administration” when none of that was ever true.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The monied seldom eat their own, but this is a real opportunity for the Independent Media (like WRH) to let their viewers/listeners that they were right all the time.

Guaido To Launch Venezuela-wide "Tactical Action" To Topple Maduro

Is Venezuela heating up again or is this just more desperation setting in for the Juan Guaido-led opposition after recent failed efforts to gem up popular support for an anti-Maduro coup?

The US recognized "Interim President" has announced plans for his supporters to launch "tactical actions" starting next week as part of his "Operation Freedom" to overthrow President Nicolas Maduro. The opposition is now telegraphing their regime change maneuvers, in what appears more of a desperate strategy to maintain external and international pressure and visibility on the continuing political crisis in the country, lately felt in a series of major nation-wide electricity outages.

Guaido said via Twitter that such tactical actions are to begin April 6, which will involve "freedom cells" set up across the country rising up in mass protest when the order is given.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, but I am not holding my breath that Guaido's "revolution" will have a ghost of a chance, against Russia's in-country troops here, plus the Russian S-300 defensive missiles.

And why the hell is he broadcasting this, so that Maduro's government knows precisely when and where these "tactical actions" will happen?!?

And you have to remember; not a lot of Venezuelans really like this guy, and know precisely how this horrific condition in their country was made to happen, primarily because of the US's crippling sanctions, and theft of Venezuela's money in other banks around the world.

This directive is about promoting the interests of multinational corporations and maximizing their profits. Dissenting voices are already being de-platformed and de-monitzed and this will institutionalize censorship.

HOUSE DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP WARNS IT WILL CUT OFF ANY FIRMS THAT CHALLENGE INCUMBENTS

THE DEMOCRATIC CONGRESSIONAL Campaign Committee warned political strategists and vendors Thursday night that if they support candidates mounting primary challenges against incumbent House Democrats, the party will cut them off from business.

The news was officially announced Friday morning, paired with a statement on the committee’s commitment to diversity in consulting — “which, obviously, is just to give themselves cover,” a Democratic political consultant who learned of it Thursday told The Intercept. The consultant asked for anonymity given their relationship with the DCCC, and the party organization’s professed strategy of blacklisting firms that don’t fall in line.

Where’s the Outrage over US Imperial Wars?

Days of protests in America against Trump’s entry into America order smack of dark forces manipulating and agitating against him no matter what he does or doesn’t do.

Denigration of Muslims is longstanding in America, taken to a fever pitch post-9/11, wrongfully portraying them as gun-toting terrorists, using them as a pretext to smash one country after another, responsible for appalling levels of carnage and human misery?

Where’s the outrage over an issue dwarfing all others? Why aren’t people furious about imperial madness, possible nuclear war if not curbed?

Why aren’t they protesting against bloated military spending and America’s empire of bases – used as launching pads for more wars?

Where’s the outrage over mega-corporations ruling the world, exploiting it for profits, harming millions, despoiling the environment?

EU Parliament Adopts Copyright Directive, Including ‘Article 13’

Many rightsholder groups are pleased with the outcome. Frances Moore, CEO of the music group IFPI, was quick to thank lawmakers for their efforts and is looking forward to seeing the changes implemented.

“This world-first legislation confirms that User-Upload Content platforms perform an act of communication to the public and must either seek authorization from rightsholders or ensure no unauthorized content is available on their platforms.

“The Directive also includes a ‘stay down’ provision requiring platforms to keep unlicensed content down – another global first,” Moore adds.

Floashback: IP experts urge EU to bin ‘misguided’ copyright plans

The statement, issued yesterday, March 24, ahead of tomorrow’s plenary vote, March 26, said Article 11 and 13 “must go”.

It was backed by 16 academics from universities including the University of Glasgow, University of Cambridge, Tilburg University in the Netherlands and University of Wroc?aw in Poland.

“While we welcomed the ambition for copyright rules to be modernised, the implementation of this goal has been misguided,” the group wrote.

The statement said that while the directive began as a policy making “legislative steps towards a connected digital single market”, it has now moved towards supporting “narrow sectoral interests”.

It described the policy as having turned into an “ideological battle between European culture and so-called GAFA (Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon)”.

Flashback: The Founding Fathers of the Internet Plead With EU to Squash Its Bad Copyright Bill

What makes this more ridiculous is that it’s not even necessary. The EU spent $400,000 on its own study to measure the negative impact of online copyright violations on legitimate sales. It concluded that, with the exception of “recent top films,” the results did not “show robust statistical evidence of displacement of sales by online copyright infringements.”

And as the authors of the letter point out, algorithms are shit. YouTube is as invested in the algorithmic identification of content as any company on the planet, and it still requires an army of beleaguered humans to review content that violates its policies. What’s more, the bill doesn’t punish copyright trolls who abuse the system. Anyone could theoretically upload someone else’s work to a copyright filtering system, claim it as their own, and the true owner would potentially have to go to court to work it out.

Trump’s Golan green light paves way to Israel’s annexation of West Bank

When President Donald Trump moved the US embassy to occupied Jerusalem last year, effectively sabotaging any hope of establishing a viable Palestinian state, he tore up the international rulebook.

Last week, he trampled all over its remaining tattered pages. He did so, of course, via Twitter.

Referring to a large piece of territory Israel seized from Syria in 1967, Trump wrote: “After 52 years it is time for the United States to fully recognize Israel’s Sovereignty over the Golan Heights, which is of critical strategic and security importance to the State of Israel and Regional Stability.”

At a meeting between Netanyahu and Trump in Washington on Monday night, the president converted his tweet into an executive decree.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately, the kind of "history" with President Trump's having signed this executive order will create, will rank as one of the worst of President Trump's foreign policy decisions ever.

Gaza rehearses for 1 million at the fence next week, as Israel kills two more men

At the end of nearly 1,000 yards of newly-grown spring grassy turf, a renewed barbed-wire border fence rises three meters up, in anticipation of a million person march next week between Gaza protesters and their well-known antagonist snipers.

A week before the first anniversary of the great March of Return, organizers have pledged larger than usual demonstrations. However, their preparations appeared powerless in yesterday’s renewed protests at Malaka, eastern Gaza City, when hails of Israeli live ammunition and gas canisters killed two Palestinian men and wounded 26 others taking part in weekly demonstrations along the fortified Israel-Gaza border.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am hoping and praying that the Palestinian children will be left home, in the care of a responsible adult; because, I could almost bet you, it will be the children who will be hit first.

Andrew Little, the NZ minister in charge of the GCSB and SIS, has signed off more spy warrants since March 15

The minister in charge of New Zealand's spy agencies, Andrew Little, says he has signed off more surveillance warrants since the Christchurch terror attack on March 15.

But, speaking to the Herald, Little would not say exactly how many people were now being spied on as a result of the attack.

"There is usually between 30 and 40 people at any one time at various states of being either under surveillance or considered for it.

"That number will be bigger now and it will be at various ends of the people-of-interest scale."

Little said he had "authorised new activity", such as surveillance and intrusive activity, since the attack.

But he wouldn't detail numbers or the nature of that activity.

NZ Telcos want to stop site-blocking, but govt steps in

Spark and Vodafone were planning to end their post-Christchurch website blocking last night but extended it after government intervention.

"There was no formal government directive, but after consultations we agreed to extend it until the weekend," Spark spokesman Andrew Pirie told the Herald.

Both Pirie and a counterpart at Vodafone labelled the site blocking "an extreme move under extreme circumstances."

A number of sites that are popular for gamers or sharing memes have been blocked because they've also hosted attack footage.

Pirie said the government broadly appreciated that such a high level of censorship could not continue, but on the telcos' side they came to a consensus that it could be continued for a few more days.

Saudi Arabia on Course for Record Number of Executions in 2019

With 43 people already executed in Saudi Arabia in the first few months of 2019, the kingdom is well on its way to setting a new record for the greatest number of executions in a year, according to reports.

Of the 43 executed so far, 21 were beheaded for drug offenses, while the remainder were put to death for crimes including treason, renouncing Islam, adultery, murder, burglary, rape, espionage and terrorism, according to the Gulf Times.

Should the Riyadh maintain its present rate, experts have projected that a whopping 172 executions will have taken place by the end of 2019 — the highest total recorded in Saudi Arabia since human rights groups first began tracking the data in the early 2000s.

?According to Business Insider, the 43 recorded executions in 2019 took place between January 1 and March 13, with the most recent beheading involving a Syrian man who was condemned to death for smuggling amphetamine pills.

Webmaster's Commentary:

DOJ Concludes Obamacare Unconstitutional And Should Be Struck Down

In a dramatic escalation of the Trump administration's legal battle against President Obama's health care law, Justice Department lawyers now say the entire Affordable Care Act should be struck down.

Having previously argued, under AG Jeff Sessions, that only the law's pre-existing condition protections should be struck down, DoJ lawyers told a federal appeals court Monday it thinks the whole of ObamaCare is unconstitutional, siding with a Texas district court ruling that found Obamacare unconstitutional.

In a letter Monday night, the administration said "it is not urging that any portion of the district court's judgment be reversed."

"The Department of Justice has determined that the district court's comprehensive opinion came to the correct conclusion and will support it on appeal," said Kerri Kupec, spokesperson for the Justice Department.

U.S. calls Russia deployment of planes to Venezuela 'reckless escalation'

The United States on Monday accused Russia of “reckless escalation” of the situation in Venezuela by deploying military planes and personnel to the crisis-stricken South American nation that Washington has hit with crippling sanctions.

The Russian planes and military personnel arrived outside the Venezuelan capital Caracas on Saturday, according to local media reports, two months after the Trump administration disavowed President Nicolas Maduro.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This would be hysterically comical, except for the hard reality people are dying due to shortages, and hospitals had to close, because the electricity was down.

Putin has made himself very clear, here; and DC moved far too late in the process, to prevent the arrival of Russian troops and weapons, so the only thing the US government can do, is bellicosely deny that the US government had anything to do with the current situation in Venezuela

PENTAGON SAYS ALL OF GOOGLE’S WORK ON DRONES IS EXEMPT FROM THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT

IN SEPTEMBER 2017, Aileen Black wrote an email to her colleagues at Google. Black, who led sales to the U.S. government, worried that details of the company’s work to help the military guide lethal drones would become public through the Freedom of Information Act. “We will call tomorrow to reinforce the need to keep Google under the radar,” Black wrote.

According to a Pentagon memo signed last year, however, no one at Google needed worry: All 5,000 pages of documents about Google’s work on the drone effort, known as Project Maven, are barred from public disclosure, because they constitute “critical infrastructure security information.”

One government transparency advocate said the memo is part of a recent wave of federal decisions that keep sensitive documents secret on that same basis — thus allowing agencies to quickly deny document requests.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, now we know, incontrovertibly, that the unholy triumverate, Google, Twitter, and Facebook, have become the "4th arm" of the US government, and that is the arm named "surveillance".

Report: Saudi Airstrikes Kill at Least 50 Houthis in Yemen’s Maarib Province

According to the Saudi-backed Yemeni government, a series of Saudi-led airstrikes targeted the Maarib Province on Monday, killing at least 50 members of the Shi’ite Houthi movement.

The attacks centered on Serwah District, the last district in oil-rich Maarib that is under the control of the Houthis. It’s unclear who the targeted Houthis were, and there is no report of substantial fighting in Maarib recently.

This once again reflects the general Saudi military strategy in Yemen, which is to fall back heavily on an air war. Using airstrikes anywhere and everywhere has often meant a substantial increase in civilian casualties.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I wonder if Saudi citizens are "entertained" with a "body count" in Yemen on their daily news, stating how many Yemenis have been massacred in this bloody genocide; in fact, I am rather amazed that the Butcher of Yemen (aka Prince Bin Salman), has not decided to carpet bomb the place and "get it over with."

But in light of the futility of the last 4 years of fighting (during which the US military has aided and abetted Saudi war crimes in Yemen), it will most probably be his next option.

It is an unhappy realization, but the people, and countries with the money to spend, generally murder who they want, with impunity, and get away with it; Saudi Arabia, the Unhinged, Surveilled state of America, and Israel, all fall into those ranks.

Senators Question DOJ’s Surveillance of Americans’ Cell Phone Location Records

A bipartisan group of senators questioned the Justice Department this week regarding how the government’s treatment of cellphone-generated location data in national security cases has changed in lieu of the Supreme Court decision in Carpenter v. United States last June.

The Carpenter case addressed the application of the Fourth Amendment to cell-site location information, or CSLI, which are geolocation records produced by users’ cell phones communicating with cell towers and stored by wireless providers. The court held that because CSLI provides “an intimate window into a person’s life,” police must obtain a warrant to collect it.

Banned by Amazon and Purged by the Neocons

Over the last decade, Amazon has gained a near-total monopoly over Internet book sales, and late last month, we saw the dangerous consequences of such intellectual control as the company suddenly banned dozens of books, many of them of excellent scholarly quality. Apparently, activist organizations such as the ADL and the SPLC had succeeded in pressuring the company to ban those works to avoid any risk that American readers might become “confused” on certain controversial historical matters.

US Ships Again Provoke Beijing By Sailing Through Strait Of Taiwan

Beijing is already threatening retaliation over Washington's expected sale of dozens of F-16s and tanks to Taiwan. But as if ties between the world's two largest economies hadn't already been sufficiently strained, the Navy and Coast Guard again provoked the Chinese leadership on Sunday when they sailed two ships - identified as the Navy destroyer Curtis Wilbur and the Coast Guard cutter Bertholf - through the Strait of Taiwan.

According to Reuters, the gesture, which is part of a redoubled US effort to flex its muscles near Chinese waters, should be interpreted - like other 'freedom of navigation' operations before it - as a sign of support for Taiwan, which is struggling with an increasingly threatening Beijing. The Chinese military has been holding more military drills and missions around the island, as President Xi has made bringing the wayward province back under Beijing's thumb a top priority for his rule.

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Sigh) In his one-man show by American comedian, Ron White, there is a phrase which I have felt was in order, looking at the deeds of the US military, currently.

At the same moment, while delicate negotiations about China's and the US's trade policy with one another continue, the only thing I can say here, is "You can't fix stupid".

Actually, stupid and reckless, would be a better characterization of these acts, done right at the moment when US/China trade relations are already very strained.

I could probably conjure up some other stupid and reckless scenarios, but the timing, on the part of the US government and military, could not possibly have been worse.

There are two schools of thought in Washington about China; the first is, destroy it militarily, while we still can the US government plans to nuke Russia and China, or cage the rage, and figure out how to treat them as allies.

As a Christian pacifist activist, I far prefer the second course of action.

But there is absolutely no middle road, between confrontation, and peaceful trade; I hope (and pray) that those in the Bowels of Power in DC, understand that, regarding how we treat China.

Glenn Greenwald: Russia Collusion 'Conspiracy' Was "Saddest Media Spectacle I Have Ever Seen"

Offering one of the most scathing responses to the Mueller report summary released Sunday night, Glenn Greenwald, a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and founding editor of the Intercept, appeared on Democracy Now! Monday, where he lambasted the mainstream press for helping to perpetuate the "total fraud" that was the Russia collusion narrative.

"This is the saddest media spectacle I have ever seen since I began practicing journalism in 2005 and what makes it even sadder is to watch all the people who invested their journalistic credibility into what proved to be a complete and total fraud and scam continue to try and cling to some vestige of credibility by continuing to spin conspiracy theories that are even more reckless and more unhinged than those we've been subjected to for the past three years."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Glenn, I feel for you; and yes, the American people will not be paying attention to anything the corporate news states any more for quite some time to come.

But by spreading the virus of "Russian Collusion" as a true narrative, that is what these presstitutes and waraspondents truly deserve, and they have brought it on their own heads; but this is absolutely the reality here.

I have a great deal of respect for THE INTERCEPT, and I would think you would feel good about what we do here at WRH, should you happen to visit the site.

Boeing Shares Dip As Airbus Seals Massive Order From China

The last few days have seen Boeing shares roller-coaster on market swings and idiosyncratic headlines (as Garuda started the worrying trend of canceling airplane orders). Today, Boeing shares slipped after Bloomberg reported that Airbus has secured a long-awaited aircraft order from China.

The confirmation reportedly occurred during a state visit by Xi Jinping to the French capital, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.

The deal is due to be announced as soon as Monday afternoon in Paris, said the person, who asked not to be identified discussing non-public information.

While no details were immediately available of the deal, Bloomberg reports that the deal was initially touted more than one year ago by the French government as being valued at as much as $18 billion.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Aerobus planes have not been crashing recently; and in their desire to get their newest airplanes up and running, Boeing did not do the due diligence with the inspections, which would have delayed the process, but would have meant the the planes were air-worthy.

Unfortunately, Boeing brought this upon themselves, and heaven only knows if they will be able to come out of this one financially in tact; were I a betting woman, I wouldn't bet that this will happen

I can hear the SMACK! of class-action lawsuits, against both the plane manufacturer, and the two companies which flew the aircraft, without insuring that training on this was mandatory, and against Boeing for signing off on a plane which was defective in its manufacturing.

Pompeo Demands Moscow "Cease Unconstructive Behavior" In Venezuela

As we predicted a number of times before, a proxy war between Russia and the United States appears now heating up in Venezuela — this after over the weekend Russia sent a military transport plane filled with Russian troops commanded by First Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Land Forces of Russia Gen. Vasily Tonkoshkurov, which landed in Caracas Saturday. We also reported the major development this morning that new satellite images reveal a major deployment of S-300 air defense missile systems to a key airbase south of Caracas.

Russia's highly visible deployment of a small troop contingency along with a reported 35 tons of cargo has resulted in a direct and firm response from Washington as on Monday morning the US Secretary of State called on Russia to “cease its unconstructive behavior”.

According to Reuters Pompeo conveyed the message directly via a phone call with his Russian counterpart Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mikey, Mikey, MIKEY!!

Wake up and smell those tons of reserve heavy crude being rudely pulled away from the US by way of a Russian "military presence" in Venezuela, invited by its LEGITIMATE LEADERSHIP, UNDER MADURO.

And if you thought about pro-actively sending US troops to fend off Russian troops here, in the immortal words of my late Grandmother, "The horse is already out of the barn, which is what she would say if a situation was already out of control, and couldn't be fixed.

If you were even thinking/fantasising about a decap strike on Caracas, it is too bloody late now.

So what are you going to do now, just sit there and whine about missed opportunities, because you waited too long to do them?!?

And your telling Lavrov (who I consider one of the adults in the room in geopolitics) that "... the United States and regional countries will not stand idly by as Russia exacerbates tensions in Venezuela."

Was that ever a rich "pot...kettle...black" moment for you, considering all that the US has done to instigate regime change in this country; and sir, your options just got royally minimized here.

It is almost painful to see how many chess moves ahead Russia's President Putin is, ahead of US foreign policy.

Banning of manifesto raises free speech debate in N. Zealand

New Zealanders are debating the limits of free speech after their chief censor banned the 74-page manifesto written and released by the man accused of slaughtering 50 people at two mosques in the city of Christchurch.

The ban, issued Saturday, means anybody caught with the document on their computer could face up to 10 years in prison, while anyone caught sending it could face 14 years. Some say the ban goes too far and risks lending both the document and the gunman mystique.

At the same time, many local media organizations are debating whether to even name the Australian man charged with murder in the March 15 attacks, 28-year-old Brenton Tarrant, after New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern vowed she would never mention him by name.

In some ways, Tarrant’s manifesto provides the greatest insight into his character and thinking, with neighbors and those he met in a gym in the sleepy seaside town of Dunedin recalling nothing particularly remarkable about him.

Russia Gives US Red Line On Venezuela

At a high-level meeting in Rome this week, it seems that Russia reiterated a grave warning to the US – Moscow will not tolerate American military intervention to topple the Venezuelan government with whom it is allied.

Meanwhile, back in Washington DC, President Donald Trump was again bragging that the military option was still on the table, in his press conference with Brazilian counterpart Jair Bolsonaro. Trump is bluffing or not yet up to speed with being apprised of Russia’s red line.

The meeting in the Italian capital between US “special envoy” on Venezuelan affairs Elliot Abrams and Russia’s deputy foreign minister Sergei Ryabkov had an air of urgency in its arrangement. The US State Department announced the tête-à-tête only three days beforehand. The two officials also reportedly held their two-hour discussions in a Rome hotel, a venue indicating ad hoc arrangement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am hoping and praying, that President Trump "sees the light" of non-intervention in this situation.

But if he does not, and Abrams, Bolton, and Pompeo urge him to go into Venezuela, guns blazing, this country will most likely find itself in a war of attrition in a jungle environment, in which our military does not generally fare quite well (Anyone at the White House remember the Vietnam War?!? Thought not.)

Trump's CIA Now Unbound And Back To Its Traditional Hijinks

Authored by Wayne Madsen via The Strategic Culture Foundation,

Under the directorship of torture and black site maven Gina Haspel, Donald Trump’s Central Intelligence Agency has returned to its traditional roots of conducting “black bag” operations and disrupting electrical grids through cyber-attacks.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have been profoundly disappointed in Haspel's having been nominated, and confirmed, as head of the CIA; President Trump knew what an "interesting piece of work she was", professionally, yet put her name into consideration, and she got confirmed anyway.

Taking down Venezuela's electricity grid, if in fact the US did it (and at this point, given the lust for Venezuela's oil reserves our leaders want to control, I think it points to a US plot) is absolutely an act of war.

Unfortunately, however, I am concerned that the mayhem may continue in many other formats, until the current Maduro government resigns, and Gaido's US puppets are "anointed" as Venezuela's "true government"

Russia has stated, incontrovertibly, that they will "protect their interests" in Venezuela.

At the worst of it, we may see war break out between Russia and the US government forces, at some time in the near future, which would be horrific in the extreme; and I say this, because at this point in their history, the American military doesn't have the weaponry; the manufacturing, the money, or the troop strength to insure a positive outcome in such a war.

US Completely Invalidates All Of Its Own Arguments About Crimea

Authored by Caitlin Johnstone via Medium.com,

Well the worst Putin Puppet of all time is at it again, this time tweeting that the US must recognize the Golan Heights as part of Israel despite the fact that the Israeli occupation of that Syrian land is illegal under international law.

“After 52 years it is time for the United States to fully recognize Israel’s Sovereignty over the Golan Heights, which is of critical strategic and security importance to the State of Israel and Regional Stability!”, Trump’s tweetreads.

Russian parliament member Oleg Morozov made a statement in response to Trump’s proclamation, saying that “Russia will never agree to recognize Israeli sovereignty in the Golan. Trump is damaging the international community and the Arab world”.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Russia never "annexed Crimea"

What happened was the following.

President Obama admitted that the US had been part of the movement to regime change Crimea, with the throwing under the proverbial bus its duly elected leader, Yanukovich, under the bus, in favor of Poroshenko. President Obama confesses, in an interview on CNN, that the US was behind the Ukrainian coup deal, installing President Poroshenko

At that point, leadership in Crimea understood that there was no legitimate government in Kiev, and did two things at that point.

First, they held a referendum for the Crimean people, asking if they wanted to stay with Ukraine, post-putch, or petition the Russian federation for membership.

Overwhelmingly, the Crimean people, in a very clean vote, observed by local and foreign representatives, to leave Ukraine, and petition the Russian Federation for membership. The Russian Federation accepting Crimea's membership, and all was well.

That is, except for the US huffing and puffing that the Crimean people had no right to peaceful self determination, as stated in the UN Charter, to which the US is I(allegedly) a signatory. The US cannot have it both ways; if they cannot commit to supporting the UN charter, it might as well withdraw its membership to the organization.

There was zero annexation here, but a real-world expression of that freedom for self-determiniation by the Crimean people.

On the other hand, the Golan Heights was seized by Israel, with the citizens of the Golan given no right to any representation whatsoever, except under Israeli edict.

This is an occupation, and an annexation, which is the polar opposite of what happened in Crimea, after the Western-orchestrated Putch put Poroshenko in power in Kiev.

The Chilling Censorship of the Christchurch Shooting

Serious concerns have arisen over how New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has handled the recent Christchurch mosques massacre. And they don’t just involve her calls for stricter gun control and decision to ban all semi-automatic rifles.

In the wake of the attacks, the prime minister promised to keep the murderer “nameless,” and the internet promptly obliged by flushing the perpetrator’s identity down the memory hole. New Zealanders’ access to online material about him was blocked. In what has become standing operating procedure after mass attacks, social media accounts connected to the perpetrator disappeared. Internet service providers in New Zealand blocked access to sites like 4chan, 8chan, LiveLeak, and the file-sharing site Mega if the sites did not take down material related to the shooting.

UK Coup Erupts: Theresa May Cabinet In Revolt, Plotting Her Imminent Overthrow

Theresa May may have days, if not hours, left as prime minister of the UK following a full-blown cabinet coup on Saturday night as senior ministers moved to oust the UK prime minister and replace her with her deputy, David Lidington.

According to the Sunday Times, following a "frantic series of private telephone calls", senior ministers agreed the prime minister must announce she is standing down, warning that she has become a toxic and “erratic” figure whose judgment has "gone haywire."

The plotters reportedly plan to confront May at a cabinet meeting on Sunday and demand that she announces she is quitting. If she refuses, they will threaten mass resignations or publicly demand her head. The "conspirators" were locked in talks late on Saturday to try reach a consensus deal on a new prime minister so there does not have to be a protracted leadership contest.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF, at the end of the day, there is no Brexit, the British people who voted for it, will be very, very angry, with a profound sense of betrayal by Parliament.

And as to what form that anger might take, I do not know. But to organizers, of any protest, make sure that those demonstrating are completely peaceful; if they are not, that will only encourage the military and police to start shooting to kill on site.

Taibbi: It's Official - 'Russiagate' Is This Generation's WMD

Authored by Matt Taibbi, excerpted from his serial book Hate Inc.,

The Iraq war faceplant damaged the reputation of the press. Russiagate just destroyed it...

Note to readers: in light of news that Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller’s investigation is complete, I’m releasing this chapter of Hate Inc. early, with a few new details added up top.

Nobody wants to hear this, but news that Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller is headed home without issuing new charges is a death-blow for the reputation of the American news media.

As has long been rumored, the former FBI chief’s independent probe will result in multiple indictments and convictions, but no “presidency-wrecking” conspiracy charges, or anything that would meet the layman’s definition of “collusion” with Russia.

With the caveat that even this news might somehow turn out to be botched, the key detail in the many stories about the end of the Mueller investigation was best expressed by the New York Times:

Webmaster's Commentary:

The independent media, like WRH, called it from the beginning; a smear job with utterly no substance, to attempt to derail Trump before the 2020 elections.

Yes, there were convictions along the way, allowing Mueller to notch a couple more convictions into his belt; but nothing which ever tied President Trump to Russia.

MADURO: US WITHHOLDING $5BN OF MEDICAL SUPPLIES IN ‘CRIMINAL’ MEASURE

The US government is withholding US $5 billion which was meant for the purchase of medicines and raw materials used in medical production, President Nicolas Maduro claimed Wednesday.

Speaking from Miranda State, Maduro denounced that US authorities “have ‘kidnapped’ US $5 billion [in] one of the most criminal, brutal, fascist economic measures which has been seen in the economic history of the world.” “Trump is the person responsible,” he added.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This was a logical, if not horrific, thing Trump has done here; after all, very ill people in a country cannot fight against its overthrow.

TWO INDIANA POLICE OFFICERS FACE FEDERAL CHARGES IN VIDEOTAPED BEATING OF HANDCUFFED MAN

This article was produced in partnership with the South Bend Tribune, a member of ProPublica’s Local Reporting Network in 2018.

A federal grand jury has indicted two Elkhart, Indiana, police officers on civil rights charges for repeatedly punching a handcuffed man last year, U.S. prosecutors announced Friday.

Elkhart County prosecutors had originally charged the two officers, Cory Newland and Joshua Titus, with misdemeanor battery in November, after the South Bend Tribune and ProPublica learned of the incident and requested video.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Good that they have been indicted.!

WITH A HARD BREXIT LOOMING, UK INVITES 10,000 FOREIGN TROOPS OVER FOR MILITARY EXERCISES

As the drama over Brexit continues to reach new heights, the U.K. government has raised eyebrows by announcing that it will host 10,000 foreign troops for a massive military exercise beginning the day after Brexit had been set to take place.

The announcement of the exercise has raised the specter of a post-Brexit “martial law” scenario, given that the Theresa May-led government has been examining the possibility of declaring martial law in the country in the event of a no-deal Brexit since at least this January.

According to a government press release, the NATO-affiliated military exercise known as “Joint Warrior” will take place from March 30 until April 11 and will see the U.K. host 10,000 soldiers as well as 35 warships, five submarines, and 59 aircraft and helicopters. Thirteen countries will participate, including the United States, France and Germany, and the exercise will occur in areas spaced throughout Scotland, Wales and England.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If I were a British citizen living in the UK right now, particularly if I had kids, I would be very, very concerned, and see what can be done to get the heck out of Dodge, before the excrement hits the ventilation system.

PENTAGON: WE’RE BUYING BOEING F-15S TO KEEP 2 FIGHTER MAKERS IN BUSINESS

The decision to buy new Boeing F-15s reflects the Pentagon’s desire to keep two American companies making fighter jets into the next decade — and not the acting defense secretary’s ties to the company, a senior defense official said Friday.

The 2020 budget request contains $1.1 billion to buy eight F-15X jets, a new variant of an aircraft the Air Force last bought nearly a decade ago. The twin-tailed plane was chosen over Lockheed’s cheaper single-engine F-16 in part to keep a second U.S.manufacturer in the tactical-jet business as the Pentagon begins exploring new technologies for a new generation of warplanes, the official said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I certainly hope, for the sake of our military, that these planes won't go down like those Boeing 737 did, and that FAA inspections are in place to make sure that they do NOT go down in flames.

PODCASTS                 SPLC IMPLODES: PRESIDENT AND LEGAL DIRECTOR RESIGN AMID SEXUAL MISCONDUCT SCANDAL

The Southern Poverty Law Center - the "vicious left-wing attack dog" used by the likes of Facebook, Twitter, Google and Amazon to identify "hate groups" - is unraveling.

A week after co-founder Morris Dees was ousted over sexual misconduct claims - with two dozen employees signing a letter of concern over "allegations of mistreatment, sexual harassment, gender discrimination, and racism," the head of the SPLC, Richard Cohen, as well as the organization's legal director, Rhonda Brownstein, resigned on Friday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

For the way SPLC treated Mike and WRH over the years, color me incapable of crying one tear for this wretched tool of the left to demonize, and attempt to destroy, any blogger or site who was not in lock-step with their views.

2.3 MILLION AT RISK OF IDENTITY THEFT DUE TO FEMA NEGLIGENCE

FEMA mishandled the personal information of 2.3 million people driven out of their homes by wildfires in 2017 and hurricanes, an Inspector General report released Friday found.

During our ongoing audit of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Transitional Sheltering Assistance (TSA) program, we determined that FEMA violated the Privacy Act of 19741 and Department of Homeland Security policy by releasing to [contractor] the PII and SPII of 2.3 million survivors of hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria and the California wildfires in 2017.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears that even so long after Katrina, FEMA is still pathologically incapable of getting anything right!!

OREGON BILL WOULD CREATE BANKING ALTERNATIVE FOR CANNABIS INDUSTRY, BYPASS FEDERAL RESERVE

A bill filed in the Oregon House would establish limited state-chartered banks to serve the cannabis industry. Final passage of this legislation would remove a major federal roadblock in front of the developing industry in the state and further nullify federal prohibition in practice.

Rep. Pam Marsh (D) and Rep. Ken Helm (D) introduced House Bill 3169 (HB3169) on Feb. 28. The legislation would create a self-contained, state chartered banking system for the cannabis industry in Oregon.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think that Oregon is doing the right thing here; it will be interesting to see how this bill progresses in its Legislature.

A manifesto reportedly written by the alleged Christchurch gunman has been officially classified as objectionable - with those who have copies told to destroy them - the Office of Film & Literature Classification has confirmed.

Chief censor David Shanks confirmed the move on Saturday, urging anyone who had copies of it to destroy them.

It is now an offence, with Shanks describing the document as "a crude booklet that promotes murder and terrorism".

"Others have referred to this publication as a 'manifesto', but I consider it a crude booklet that promotes murder and terrorism. It is objectionable under New Zealand law," said Shanks.

Maryland’s ‘Red Flag’ Law Turns Deadly: Officer Kills Man Who Refused To Turn In Gun

A 61-year-old man is dead after he was shot by an officer trying to enforce Maryland’s new ‘red flag’ law in Ferndale Monday morning.

Anne Arundel County Police confirmed the police-involved shooting happened in the 100 block of Linwood Avenue around 5:17 a.m.

According to police, two officers serving a new Extreme Risk Protective Order (Red Flag Law), a Maryland protective order to remove guns from a household, shot and killed the man listed on that order.

The Obama Legacy

I’ve asked dozens of friends and acquaintances if there is any limit on how much federal, state and local governmental entities can take from their citizens. Most look at me with a blank stare. Most have never given it a thought.

Clearly the thought has not crossed the minds of many in Congress. We hear some, those that are proudly labeling themselves as “socialists,” righteously telling us the rich need to pay their “fair share.” The most vocal are calling for a 70% to 90% tax rate on the “rich.”

These pontificating self-righteous paragons of nothing certainly have not considered the question of whether there is a limit on how much government can take from its citizens.

Prior to 1913 the limit on the federal government was effectively set by denying it most tools for taking citizens’ earnings. America’s first totalitarian socialist president, Woodrow Wilson, pushed through the 16th Amendment to the Constitution. This allowed the Feds to tax our individual income.

Bolton says Trump ‘very serious’ about ‘all options’ as Venezuela dismantles ‘terrorist cell’

Donald Trump is not kidding when he says “all options” to topple Maduro are open, National Security Adviser John Bolton said, as the Venezuelan government busted wannabe president Juan Guaido’s aide for running a terrorist cell.
“President Trump himself has been clear on this point on any number of occasions when he says all options are on the table. I think people need to understand and believe that; he’s very serious about it,” Bolton told Breitbart.

The digital detectives determined to get rid of shooting video

If you’re sharing or spreading footage of the Christchurch attack, there is a small team of digital detectives on your case.

A modest New Zealand government department of about 30 people is on a mission to rid the internet of the horrific footage and even jail those intent on circulating it.

Days after the terror attack, as tech giants woefully scrambled to pull down clips of the live-streamed massacre, New Zealand’s censors leaped into action.
For more job news and views go to YUDU

The country’s chief censor, David Shanks, classified the 17-minute video as “objectionable” meaning it was completely banned. The classification raised the prospect of a fine of up to $10,000 or up to 14 years’ jail for anyone who actively circulates the clip. Local authorities have called on companies like Facebook to hand over the names of those caught sharing.

Christchurch mosque attack: Kiwis lose jobs for sharing massacre video at work

Kiwi workers have been fired for watching the Christchurch shooter's livestream at work and sharing it with colleagues.

That's according to Cyber Research, which monitors internal computer use for around 50 companies - which include some of our biggest corporates.

At least one person has been fired for watching the video while other employees were around - while others have been let go for sharing it with workmates.

Goodbye to the Internet: Interference by Governments Is Already Here

Be that as it may, if there were a modern version of the Rothschild comment it might go something like this: “Give me control of the internet and no one will ever more know what is true.” The internet, which was originally conceived of as a platform for the free interchange of information and opinions, is instead inexorably becoming a managed medium that is increasingly controlled by corporate and government interests. Those interests are in no way answerable to the vast majority of the consumers who actually use the sites in a reasonable and non-threatening fashion to communicate and share different points of view.

Iraqi Parliament Prepares to Evict US Troops

US military's presence in Iraq falling out of favor across several political blocs.

In the wake of the ISIS War in Iraq, Pentagon officials will tell you what they’ve been saying all along, that America’s intention is to stay in Iraq, and that there is no consideration being given to leaving. It’s not clear the US has spoken to the Iraqi government about this, however.

While many Iraqis accepted the offer of help in the more desperate moments of the ISIS War, the US military has quickly worn out its welcome. Across a number of major political blocs in Iraq, there is growing consensus that the US, and indeed all foreign military forces, need to go.

This has been brewing for months. The Iraqis saw Trump’s visit to Iraq, during which he didn’t meet the Iraqi PM, as a sign of disrespect. That the Pentagon keeps insisting they’re staying in Iraq, without asking the Iraqis, only adds to the sense that the US isn’t really an invited guest in any real sense.

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK, folks, it appears that the US President and Military are both suffering from an acute, collective case of SMD (selective memory disorder), about the one guy who got the US military out of Iraq the first time, and now is one of the most powerful people in Iraq who holds no governmental office; Muktada Al Sadr.

Let's take a gentle WRH ride in our way-back machine to last year, and the following article, describing the win of his coalition in the Iraqi parliament last year:

Muqtada al Sadr's win in Iraq, is dredging up tough memories for US soldiers

Please remember; he was the official head of the Mahdi Army, which fought the US military tooth and nail, and then, in 2017 this was disbanded: Iraq disbands what used to be known as the "Mahdi Army

Mr. President, I am strongly cautioning you (not that you appear to be listening, but ... God loves His optimists) on this issue, to show the Iraqi government, and its military, just a small bit of respect, and I ask this for the following reasons.

Although the Mahdi Army has been officially disbanded, please don't bet on this Imam's NOT being capable of"pulling the band back together", if he believes, for one second, that the US government wants to occupy Iraq forever, which, it appears, is really the goal, to control who gets Iraq's oil, and in what currency it will be sold.

Were I a betting woman, I would not bet against him doing this, sir; and he and his people know every inch of the country. And if he does this, how are you going to respond?!? With a second invasion of Iraq, let's say, Iraq 2.0- the "golden cut"?!?

It’s time for US to fully recognize Israel’s ‘sovereignty’ over disputed Golan Heights – Trump

He is just another Neocon now! Disgusting!

US President Donald Trump has said that the time has come for the United States to "fully recognize" Israel's sovereignty over the disputed Golan Heights, seized from Syria during the Six-Day War in 1967.
In a tweet on Thursday, Trump said the Golan Heights are "of critical strategic and security importance to the State of Israel" and to "regional security." His decision will be seen as a diplomatic coup for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Nine Years After Obama Snub, Trump Rolls Out Red Carpet for Netanyahu

President Donald J. Trump will host Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House next week, displaying a significant shift in policy from President Obama.

Netanyahu will join Trump for a working meeting on March 25 during which they will “discuss their countries’ shared interests and actions in the Middle East,” according to the White House press release Wednesday. The U.S. President will then host Netanyahu at a dinner on March 26. This will be Netanyahu’s third visit to the Trump White House.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Every time Prime Minister Netanyahu uses his "frequent flyer miles" to get to DC, I get nervous, because, most usually, that means yet another misguided military intervention into a country to which the US military was not invited, like Syria, for example; and trust me, the US is not thinking of leaving there anytime soon, be the troop compliment at 400, or 1,000.

I don't know if any of our readers saw this on Faux TV, but the lower crawl indicated the Trump had tweeted that the Golan Heights should be considered as Israeli territory, possibly giving Netanyahu a "US-Generated lift" before ISraeli elections, which happen 9 April this year.

It was also yet another way to stick a finger in the eye of the Syrian government, the Syrian people, and Bashar Al-Assad, simultaneously, as well.

AS RUSSIA COLLUSION FADES, UKRAINIAN PLOT TO HELP CLINTON EMERGES

After nearly three years and millions of tax dollars, the Trump-Russia collusion probe is about to be resolved. Emerging in its place is newly unearthed evidence suggesting another foreign effort to influence the 2016 election — this time, in favor of the Democrats.

Ukraine’s top prosecutor divulged in an interview aired Wednesday on Hill.TV that he has opened an investigation into whether his country’s law enforcement apparatus intentionally leaked financial records during the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign about then-Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort in an effort to sway the election in favor of Hillary Clinton.

Ukraine Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko’s probe was prompted by a Ukrainian parliamentarian's release of a tape recording purporting to quote a top law enforcement official as saying his agency leaked the Manafort financial records to help Clinton's campaign.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Et Tu, Hillary?!?

One has to love reeking stench of hypocrisy on both sides of the aisle; and NO, it doesn't smell like "teen spirit". It frankly smells more like industrial strength fertilizer.

BETO O’ROURKE SLAMS BENJAMIN NETANYAHU, SAYING ISRAEL HAS “OPENLY SIDED WITH RACISTS”

Beto O’Rourke denied on Tuesday that donations from supporters of Israel had influenced his approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and denounced Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in stark terms, saying that Israel’s leader had “openly sided with racists.”

Beto taking the gloves off against Bibi… pic.twitter.com/QJascMyILA

— Jacob Kornbluh ? (@jacobkornbluh) March 20, 2019

As the Texas Tribune correspondent Patrick Svitek reported, the comments came during an event at Keene State College in New Hampshire, after O’Rourke was asked about rumors that he had taken “pro-Israel lobbyist money” during his failed Senate run in 2018.

O’Rourke explained that, in fact, he had taken no money from political action committees in that race — although J Street, a pro-Israel lobbying group that aids candidates who favor a two-state solution and oppose the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement, helped solicit $170,000 in individuals donations to his campaign.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Beto, you cannot have it both ways.

And after this major public criticism of Israel, Beto's geopolitical career may well be close to over; AIPAC will insure that he gets eaten alive, well before the Democratic nominee is "chosen" (most probably by the party, but not by the people.)

Amazon Bans Nation of Islam's Books on History of Jewish Abuses Against Blacks

The banning of four Nation of Islam Black history books by Amazon, the largest bookseller in the world, provides a perfect opportunity to examine the wickedly racist ways Jewish power is wielded in America. Amazon provided no warning, no reason, no hearing, and no opportunity to respond—it was a blatant mockery of Amazon founder Jeffrey Bezos’s own creed, “Democracy Dies in Darkness.” It is, however, perfect proof of what The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad said: the mental resurrection of Black people will anger our oppressors and cause them to react punitively and viciously.

ARMORED POLICE RIOT SQUADS WILL NOW PATROL MIAMI BEACH SPRING BREAK CROWDS

Tension between South Beach spring breakers and older, whiter, richer, and stodgier residents has been leading up to this moment for years.

But yesterday's revelation was still shocking. Miami Beach officials announced that for the rest of spring break, 25-member teams of police in riot gear will patrol Ocean Drive and the beaches. And the city will park police vans, ATVs, and barricades on the beach to chuck noncompliant visitors into paddy wagons and cart them off to jail.

After an emergency commission meeting yesterday, police spokesperson Ernesto Rodriguez confirmed roving bands of cops will be "wearing protective gear, helmets, and will be equipped with shields." He added police vans will be parked "on the sand" to rapidly detain misbehaving revelers. The news was disclosed midway through a Miami Herald article about spring break.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This could possibly create riot situations, which would be horrifically dangerous for these kids, who would have no way out to make it to safety.

New Zealand mass shooting now being used to justify banning all chat boards, consolidating speech in the hands of the “authoritative” media giants

In the wake of the revelation that the mass shooting that took place at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand may have actually been a contrived act of terrorism committed by an attention-seeking nihilist intentionally trying to “troll” the public, some on the Left are now calling for chat boards like 4chan to be completely shut down as the solution to what they perceive as the “problem” of online free speech.
