The Crazy Imbalance of Russia-gate

If the U.S. government and mainstream media are really concerned about foreign influence in American politics, they might look at Israel and other nations with much more clout than Russia, notes Robert Parry.

The core absurdity of the Russia-gate frenzy is its complete lack of proportionality.

The Bombast of Nikki Haley

She’s a lightweight, and a warmongering globalist.

As Governor of South Carolina, and a member of that state’s House of Representatives, Haley’s foreign policy experience is absolutely nil. Nor does her degree in accounting from Clemson University inspire confidence. Her record thus far has consisted of giving voice to the neoconservative tendency in the GOP – the very people Trump defeated in the GOP primaries. The conventional Republican foreign policy clichés we’ve heard for years pour forth from her mouth like vomit from a drunk. Her recent speech before the American Enterprise Institute on the nuclear deal with Iran is a perfect case in point.

America’s Jews Are Driving America’s Wars

We don’t need a war with Iran because Israel wants one and some rich and powerful American Jews are happy to deliver. Seriously, we don’t need it.

They have been very successful at faking the Iranian threat, so much so that nearly all Republican and most Democratic congressmen as well as much of the media seem to be convinced that Iran needs to be dealt with firmly, most definitely by using the U.S. military, and the sooner the better.

And while they are doing it, the issue that nearly all the Iran haters are Jewish has somehow fallen out of sight, as if it does not matter. But it should matter.

"We Will Not Seek Permission": Defiant Iran Unveils New Ballistic Missile

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani delivered another snub to the Trump administration on Friday when he said that Iran would continue its missile program in defiance of US sanctions, and to underscore the determination, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard unveiled its newest long-range ballistic missile during a military parade in Tehran.

The new missile that was introduced at the parade is capable of reaching much of the Middle East, including Israel, with a range of 1,200 miles. It's also capable of carrying several warheads. The parade in Tehran commemorated the 1980s Iraq-Iran war. Though Iran has long boasted of having missiles in the same range in its arsenal, it was the first time that the new Khoramshahr missile was displayed in public, the AP reported adding that in February, Iran test-fired the same medium-range type of missile, prompting Trump to say that the United States is "putting Iran on notice."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Look, with the US, Israel, and Saudi Arabia collectively breathing down Iran's neck, in terms of screaming "regime change" at Tehran, if you were Rouhani, wouldn't you be looking at producing the best weapons possible, as a deterrent to that regime change?!?

Of course you would!!

The White House Is Secretly Planning for Confrontation with Iran: Report

As Donald Trump takes to the U.N. General Assembly to demonize Iran yet again, the Trump administration is also considering a more aggressive strategy towards Iran behind closed doors, sources have told Reuters.

According to six current and former U.S. officials, the U.S. will be looking at more hostile responses to Iran’s forces, its proxy armies in Iraq and Syria, and its support for militant groups.

According to the sources, the current proposal was drafted by Defense Secretary Jim “Mad Dog” Mattis, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, national security advisor General H.R. McMaster, and several other top officials before it was presented to President Trump at a National Security Council meeting on September 9.

The proposal will ultimately be made public before the end of September, two of the sources said. The sources requested anonymity because the draft proposal had not yet been finalized.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This will lead, ultimately, to war against both Russia and Iran, as Russian politicians and military professionals have vowed that should Iran be attacked militarily, they will respond.

It is only a matter of time; and my sense, listening to the intense demonisation of Iran by President Trump at the UN earlier this week in his maiden speech there, it will be a question of sooner, rather than later.

And President Trump may find a way for the Iranians to be perceived as having struck first, perhaps tricking them into attacking a nearby US outpost in the Middle East as did FDR, with the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor, Oahu, to whip up collective American animosity and desire for revenge against them.
Pearl Harbor attack; Hawaii was surprised, but FDR was not.

I would, however, like to strongly caution President Trump about such a war against Iran in one specific area; both Israel and Saudi Arabia have been cheerleading for regime change in Tehran for a long time; but they fully expect the costs borne from such a war to be primarily in American blood and American money.

Mr. President, if there EVER was a time for not obliging your twin BFFs in the Middle East, Bibi Netanyahu and Prince Salman, by starting this potentially catastrophic war in the Middle East, it is now.

The interests of the American people are absolutely not alligned with those of these two tyrannical leaders on this issue.

Let them join forces and fight Iran, if they are pathologically incapable of engaging in intelligent, moral, hard-won negotiations with which to resolve their differences with Iran; but let's leave the American military out of this, please.

Tillerson: Iran ‘Technically’ Complying With Nuclear Deal

In comments that may provide some insight into the Trump Administration position on Iran, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson conceded that “no one” disagreed with Iran being in compliance with the P5+1 nuclear deal. He insisted, however, that this compliance was only “technically” compliance.

This led to talk of Iran violating the “spirit” of the deal, even though they are complying with all the actual written terms of the deal. Tillerson suggested that the expectation was that the deal would “remove” Iran as a threat in the eyes of the US.

Which of course is something that Iran has literally no control over. US policy is to be hostile toward Iran, and the fact that this didn’t evaporate overnight is neither surprising, nor something that anyone could’ve thought might happen as the result of the P5+1 deal, which covered only Iran’s civilian nuclear program.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As a professional basket ball player might observe, The Trump administration has "no game" against Iran, which is why it is attempting to demonize the Iranian government over things which were never a part of the P5+1 agreement in the first place.

And Mr. President, a word here, please: both Saudi Arabia and Israel would love to see regime change in Damascus; but generally, only at the cost of American blood and American money.

Here at home, you're dealing with a war-weary and war-cynical citizenry, who are looking at the epic fails of US foreign policy represented by the "usual suspects" of real, or attempted, regime change: Iraq; Afghanistan; Syria; Somalia; and Libya, and seriously doubt that this is really the right time to get into another military misadventure in the Middle East, Africa, or North Korea, or anywhere else, thank you very much.

And as a Christian pacifist activist, constantly exhorting both you, and every one else at the Federal level, to attempt to resolve this country's geopolitical differences with meaningful negotiations, rather than through wars, I am politely and sincerely asking you to allow the US government to stay the course with the P5+1 treaty.

This continues to work for peace, and the Iranian government has been declared in full compliance of the deal by the IAEA, and these people are smart enough to understand if there is the slightest deviation from what they expect to see.

Let's let the experts continue to do their jobs.

We have problems enough here in the US, where half the country is burning with uncontrolled wildfires, and the other half is flooded by tropical storms and torrential rains, not to mention an economy which is just about on the tipping point.

Donald Trump Apparently Snubbed Theresa May When She Asked Him About The Iran Nuclear Deal

Donald Trump refused to tell Theresa May whether he intends to stick to a nuclear deal with Iran – despite her asking him outright, the US secretary of state has said.

The US president told journalists on Wednesday he had made a decision on the future of the historic agreement, but would not reveal his thinking to fellow world leaders at the United Nations.

In his speech to the UN, Trump said the deal – forged in 2015 between Iran and the US, the UK, France, China, Russia, and Germany in a landmark bid to prevent Iran developing nuclear weapons – was "an embarrassment to the United States".

Iran FM rejects re-negotiation of nuclear deal terms

In an interview with The New York Times on Thursday, Mohammad Javad Zarif said US wants to change the deal at Iran’s expense alone, while Washington itself is not willing to make any concessions.

The top Iranian diplomat further said that kind of position contradicted the premise of any negotiated deal. If the nuclear accord is supposed to change, then every concession Iran has made to help make the deal happen has to be reconsidered, he noted.

“Why should we discuss an addendum?,” he asked. “If you want to have an addendum, there has to be an addendum on everything.”

“Are you prepared to return to us 10 tons of enriched uranium?,” Zarif also asked, referring to the stockpile, which was shipped to Russia as part of the deal.

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has admitted that Tehran is in "technical compliance" with the 2015 nuclear agreement reached between Iran and six other countries, including the United States.

Tillerson made the remarks on Wednesday after he and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met as parties to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) at an EU-organized event on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York where EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said that all parties to the nuclear deal agree that Iran is in compliance with the plan.

Trump Alone Threatened War in His UN Address

The UN is a venue for promoting world peace and stability. Trump used his General Assembly address for hostile chest-thumping, threatening North Korea, Iran, Venezuela and Syria’s Bashar al-Assad – a disgraceful jingoistic display.

The only language he understands is belligerence, escalating wars he inherited from Bush/Cheney and Obama, plotting new ones, threatening possible nuclear confrontation on the Korean peninsula.

He’s a national disgrace and a world menace, a rogue leader. Addresses by his counterparts and other officials representing their countries shamed him.

No matter how bad things look now, Hillary President would have been infinitely worse!

Sure, the Americans talk a lot, but at least they are doing nothing. That paralysis, which is a direct consequence of the internal infighting, is a blessing for the rest of the planet

Collapse of Iran deal would send a 'terrible signal': Germany

German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel has warned that any US move to scrap Iran's nuclear deal would discourage other countries from going to the negotiating table to discuss their nuclear activities.

A collapse of the accord, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), would send a “terrible signal” for other diplomatic efforts, Gabriel said on the sidelines of a UN meeting in New York on Thursday.

“What should motivate countries like North Korea or others to enter into negotiations in the future when the one example of such a deal is being destroyed?” he asked.

Germany will do all it can to persuade the United States not to abandon the Iranian nuclear agreement, whatever the outcome of German elections on Sunday, Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel said on Thursday.

Germany would work with the European Union, France, Britain and where possible China and Russia to press Washington to preserve the deal, under which Iran curbed its nuclear work in exchange for the lifting of sanctions, he said on the sidelines of a UN meeting in New York.

Anti-Iran Deal Billionaire Tom Kaplan Lashes Out at Iran

A couple hours before and a few blocks away from where President Donald Trump delivered a speech to the United Nations on Monday, a group of anti-Iran deal advocates held their annual conference at the midtown Manhattan Roosevelt Hotel. Perhaps newly emboldened by the current administration’s hostility to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)—at the UN, Trump declared the Iran deal “an embarrassment to the United States”—a billionaire wearing a blue, three-piece suit took the stage and delivered a diatribe, invoking anti-Muslim falsehoods and a series of crude animal metaphors to explain Iran’s predatory nature.

Thomas Kaplan made his public debut as a supporter of United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) in a surprise appearance that was not listed in the event’s program. Kaplan is one of the key funders of UANI, an anti-Iran deal advocacy group that targets companies doing business in Iran and even goes as far as pushing for a de facto blockade on food and medicine to Iran.

TRUMP FALLS IN LINE WITH INTERVENTIONISM

In discussing President Trump, there is always the soft prejudice of low expectations – people praise him for reading from a Teleprompter even if his words make little sense – but there is no getting around the reality that his maiden address to the United Nations General Assembly must rank as one of the most embarrassing moments in America’s relations with the global community.

Trump offered a crude patchwork of propaganda and bluster, partly delivered as a campaign speech praising his own leadership – boasting about the relatively strong U.S. economy that he mostly inherited from President Obama – and partly reflecting his continued subservience to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Trump did NOT inherit "...relatively strong U.S. economy" from President Obama; look at all the corporate bankruptcies which have happened in 2016, and 2017, to begin to comprehend the problems with the US economy, which have seen massive Federal and personal debt increase, coupled with the steady outsourcing/offshoring of jobs which used to be the mainstay of the American middle class.

But the rest of the article is absolutely correct, in pointing out President Trump's embracing everything that has failed, spectacularly, with US foreign policy under Bush's and Obama's regimes.

And it appears he is about to double down with North Korea, Iran, and perhaps even Venezuela.

IF, in fact, the US government goes to war against both North Korea and Iran, and choses to fire the first shot, we may well see China defending North Korea, and Russia defending Iran, militarily.

I wish someone who has the President's ear, other than the official triumverate of Mc Master, Kelly, and Mattis, would politely inform President Trump that the US military does not have the money; the manufacturing; the weaponry; or the troop strength to positively militarily engage either country at this point.

After a show of force in Syria, Russia has other countries clamoring for their weapons, because they work as advertised; most American weapons, unfortunately, do not.

Need I remind you of the utter fluster cluck and debacle which is the Lockheed Martin's F-35, which has cost taxpayers billions, but still cannot perform to speck, and may take billions more to ever fix?!?

I rest my case.

E.U. to Trump: ‘We’re Not Renegotiating Iran Nuclear Deal’ – Israel Not Happy

Now Israel has a problem. What’s good for Washington is not necessarily good for Europe…

RT International reports today…

All parties to Iran’s nuclear agreement remain in full compliance with the deal, EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said after the Wednesday P5+1 powers’ meeting. She emphasized that the deal had potentially averted a military incursion into Iran.

“This is an agreement that prevented a nuclear program and potentially prevented a military intervention,” Mogherini said, following a meeting of ministers representing the six world powers and Iran on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

Calling the negotiations a “frank” discussion, Mogherini said that it boiled down to all sides agreeing that no country has breached the terms of the deal. “We all agreed on the fact that there is no violation, that the nuclear program-related aspects, which is all the agreement, are being fulfilled,” she said.

Phil Giraldi – Neocons Clamor for More Goy Blood

Most recently, some pundits, including myself, have been warning of an impending war with Iran. To be sure, the urging to strike Iran comes from many quarters, to include generals in the Administration who always think first in terms of settling problems through force, from a Saudi government obsessed with fear over Iranian hegemony, and, of course, from Israel itself. But what makes the war engine run is provided by American Jews who have taken upon themselves the onerous task of starting a war with a country that does not conceivably threaten the United States. They have been very successful at faking the Iranian threat, so much so that nearly all Republican and most Democratic congressmen, as well as much of the media, seem to be convinced that Iran needs to be dealt with firmly, most definitely by using the U.S. military, and the sooner the better.

Trump Speech A Goldmine Of Hypocrisy, Propaganda And Outrageous Lies

Was Donald Trump's speech to the UN optimistic realism, Trumpian populism or a just a goldmine of hypocrisy, propaganda and outrageous lies? Trump's meeting with Bibi Netanyahu yesterday no doubt influenced this jingoistic and threatening speech. It sounded like Bibi wrote it for him. Bibi has been crying wolf about Iran's non-existent nuclear weapons program for over 20 years. This kind of speech always worked really well before the advent of the internet. In the past, the mainstream media effectively kept us in the dark about what was really going on in the rest of the world so this kind of speech was readily accepted by the ignorant proles.

Now, with a few clicks of the mouse on a computer, just about everything he said is quickly exposed as no more than ludicrous propaganda and the raving of a clueless madman pushing another country's agenda. I'm sure this was obvious to everyone in that room.

Trump is conflating Pyongyang with Tehran. The results could be catastrophic

This is the latest gimmick in Trump’s desperate efforts to kill the nuclear deal with Iran: by focusing on Tehran’s objectionable non-nuclear policies and false claims of the unevenness of the Iran deal, Trump is arguing that sustaining the international accord can no longer be justified since it doesn’t address the totality of America’s concerns with Iran.

Problem is: there is no deal that could address the totality of US-Iran tensions unless Trump is willing to engage in extensive diplomacy with Iran for such a grand bargain. Thus far, Trump has shown zero interest in negotiations with Iran. And mindful of how he has conducted himself on the world stage, significant doubts exist as to whether his administration has the capacity and competence to face Iran diplomatically.

Dangerous Words of Escalation: Trump Threatens to Abandon Iran’s Nuclear Deal as Israeli Officials Call for Action Against Iran

Once again, the annual United Nations General Assembly is taking place in New York City with U.S. President Donald Trump set to take center stage as he is expected to focus on the North Korean Crisis and the 2015 Iran Nuclear Deal also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

As the Western media’s attention has been focused on the North Korea crisis (which is also another very serious matter), another development has been taking place in Tel Aviv, as calls for action by Israeli officials against Iran’s Nuclear Program although it’s not a new development (it’s been going on for many years). Channel 2 on Israeli TV reported that Mossad chief Yossi Cohen is calling on the Israeli government to take action against the Iranian government. The Times of Israel reported that

“Channel 2 on Sunday paraphrased Cohen as asserting that “Today’s Iran is the North Korea of yesterday, and so we need to act now so that we don’t wake up to [an Iranian] bomb.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would like to politely point out that Israel was not a signatory to the P5+1, therefore has utterly no business in attempting to get the US from walking away from this treaty.

I would also like to politely point out that Iran has signed the NNPT: Israel has not.

I would also like to politely point out that Iran hasn't started a war in over 200 years.

IF President Trump has any horse-sense left, he will not allow Netanyahu to "charm" him into another Middle Eastern war, where the outcomes of US military intervention have not quite been stellar; think Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Libya, and Syria, and you will catch my drift.

IF both Israel and Saudi Arabia believe that a war against Iran is in their best interests, as both consider Iran their "existential enemy", let them fight it; such a war is definitely NOT in the interests of We the People, and I do hope President Trump understands this.

Netanyahu Is Meeting Trump To Push For War With Iran

Today, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with Donald Trump at the White House and push the U.S. to withdraw from the nuclear accord with Iran. Netanyahu will present an argument that Trump already has come to accept: America’s adherence to the nuclear deal cannot solely depend on Iran’s compliance with the agreement, but also whether Iran’s other policies challenge US national interests. It’s a more honest argument compared to the slogans Netanyahu has used in the past. But it is also a line that fundamentally contradicts Netanyahu’s central message of the past decades: That Iran’s nuclear program constitutes an existential threat to Israel.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, a word, please on this issue; should you go back on this P5+1 agreement, you will telegraph to the world that the US is incapable of keeping its treaties and promises, and will walk away from them whenever said treaties are "inconvenient" to US hegemony.

And just which of Iran's policies in the region are an anathema to US national security interests?!?

Can you possibly, please, explain what you mean by this, because if you are taking the American people to war against Iran, the American people have the absolute right to understand why.

OK, Iran is developing better ballistic missiles: but these were never a part of the P5+1 agreement in the first place; and with Israel and the US breathing down Iran's neck, threatening war at least every other Tuedsay, can you blame them for wanting some decent defense capabilities?

No thinking, reasonable person possibly could.

Listen, we know your BFFs in the Middle East are cheerleading you on starting a war against Iran. Both Prince Salman and Prime Minister Netanyahu have been uofficial "president whisperers" in this regard.

But this could turn out to be an absolute nightmare for the OSUSSA (the curent state of this nation, which can most honestly be described as the Occupied Unhinged Surveilled States of Amerika.) And here is why.

Russian political and military figures have stated, publicly, that should Iran be attacked, they will come to its aid militarily.

Have McMaster, Kelly, and Mattis told you this?!? Because, Mr. President, it is bloody well time someone did.

Mr. President, we don't have the money, the troop stregth, the manufacturing, or the weaponry to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war against Russia in Iran; it is just that simple.

And what, precisely, will Prince Salman and Netanyahu give you to win this war?!? How many troops, and how much military equipment have they committed?!? My deep concern here, Mr. President, is that they will expect the US military to do most of the heavy lifting, but will expect the costs in blood and money, to be borne primarily by this country.

To all the Alphabet Soup agencies reading this site: I care about my country very deeply; and until it becomes illegal to do so, I will comment on the ways in which I believe it is moving in the wrong direction.

As you understand, I am a Christian pacifist activist, who never advocates, or condones violence, which means that I am constantly exorting this government to resolve its geopolitical differences with other countries in ways other than through wars.

A war with Iran may be believed to be in the best interests of both the Saudi Arabian and Israeli leadership; but with all the domestic and financial problems facing this country, a war against Iran, which may well translate into a war with Russia, is absoflippinglutely NOT in the interests of this country's people at all.

To the Iranian bloggers who read this site (I don't know if there is a mirror in Farsi, but understand there may be): thinking Americans who understand your history, and particularly your 20th century history), do not want to see war against Iran. Unlike Israel, you have a Constitution; are a signatory to the NNPT (which Israel is not); and your religious minorities are protected under your Constitution.

In sum total, Mr. President, a war with Iran is an horrifically bad idea, no matter how much Prince Salman and Prime Minister Netanyahu have been rooting for the OUSSA to do this.

ISRAEL AND US OPEN FIRST AMERICAN MILITARY BASE IN ISRAEL

Israel and the U.S. inaugurated the first American military base on Israeli soil on Monday, which will serve dozens of soldiers operating a missile defense system.

The move comes at a time of growing Israeli concerns about archenemy Iran's development of long-range missiles. Together with the U.S., Israel has developed a multilayered system of defenses against everything from long-range guided missile attacks from Iran to crude rockets fired from Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.

The base's opening is largely symbolic and isn't expected to bring operational changes. But the Israeli military says that along with other measures, it sends a message of readiness to Israel's enemies.

"It's a message that says Israel is better prepared. It's a message that says Israel is improving the response to threats," said Brig. Gen. Zvika Haimovich, the commander of Israel's aerial defense.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Although this didn't make it to the presstitute corporate news outlets in this country, this base makes a joint Israeli/US strike against Iran far more potentially feasible, and nearer in schedule than it might have been before.

Is The US State Department Waging "Open War" On The White House?

"It's not clear to me why the Secretary of State wishes to at once usurp the powers of the Congress and then to derail his boss's rapprochement with the Israeli government." — Foreign policy operative, quoted in the Washington Free Beacon.

Since he was sworn in as Secretary of State on February 1, Rex Tillerson and his advisors at the State Department have made a number of statements and policy decisions that contradict President Trump's key campaign promises on foreign policy, especially regarding Israel and Iran.

"Tillerson was supposed to clean house, but he left half of them in place and he hid the other half in powerful positions all over the building. These are career staffers committed to preventing Trump from reversing what they created." — Veteran foreign policy analyst, quoted in the Free Beacon.

Removing Offensive Monuments

The eyesore presidential libraries

The social justice warrior charge to purge the United States of all monuments relating in any way to the Confederacy has been rapidly expanding to include the scourge represented by all white people all through history.

Now, I would suggest that turnabout is fair play so if we are all agreeing that monuments must be destroyed to right historic wrongs, I am interested in making up my own little list based on the things that I disapprove of. As readers of this site are aware, I am a critic of illegal behavior by the United States government, to include torture, targeted assassinations by drone and starting wars without any reason to do so, so that would be a good place to start.

Trump and Netanyahu ready united assault against Iran nuclear deal

Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu will meet in New York on Monday, at the start of a week in which they intend to launch a concerted assault at the United Nations against the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran.

The US and Israeli leaders are expected to use their speeches to the UN general assembly on Tuesday to highlight the threat to Middle East stability and security represented by Tehran.

While anxiety about Iran’s expansive role in Syria, Yemen, Iraq and Lebanon is widely shared, Trump and Netanyahu’s antipathy to the multilateral deal agreed in Vienna two years ago binds them together, even as it sets them apart from the overwhelming majority of other world leaders attending the annual UN summit.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If you had any questions on what foreign government actually runs Middle Eastern US foreign policy, wonder no more.

Everytime these guys get to gether, I become extraordinarily nervous.

I hope President Trump understands that precisely what Tel Aviv wants him to do, is to create an atmosphere which makes it so impossible for Iran to stay in the P5+1, that they will have to abandon it, and will, of course, resune their nuclear program.

That, in turn, will create "regime change" fervor, and be whipped into a frenzy of demonisation against Iran, so that when such a break from this treaty happens, (courtesy of the Occupied Unhinged Surveilled States of America), that war will again be touted as "the only way" to handle this alleged "rogue nation."

Mr. President, I wish to politely, but strongly caution you at this moment, right after you have just met with Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu: the guy is crazy for regime change in Tehran, but only at the costs of American blood and American money.

Kindly keep that in mind, please.

Israel claims UN ignored intel on secret Iran nuke sites — report

Israeli officials have reportedly accused the UN body tasked with ensuring Tehran’s compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal of ignoring information it received detailing forbidden nuclear military research and development being carried out at several sites across Iran.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Netanyahu is trying to discredit the IAEA, to allow Trump to void the P5+1 deal and launch a war. But the IAEA may have ignored the Israeli claims given the fact that Israel's claims that led to their bombing of the Iraq power station at Osirak turned out to be false, as did all of Israel's earlier claims (stretching back 30 years) than Iran was "weeks away" from having a nuclear weapon.

Why Trump Is Right and the Experts Are Still Wrong about the Iran Deal

Iran is technically in compliance with its weak terms, which tells us why the deal was a historic blunder.

The experts all agree. They are very nervous about the Trump administration’s continued dithering about whether it will again certify Iran’s compliance in the nuclear deal. As the New York Times helpfully pointed out in an article about a joint letter signed by what we are told is a list of 80 of the world’s leading authorities on nuclear nonproliferation, the experts believe that Trump’s inclination to ditch the deal (the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA) has nothing to do with “the merits” of the question.

Much of his national-security team reportedly seeks to persuade Trump to keep the deal, despite his publicly expressed belief that it is a mistake. But the letter from the experts should make him doubly suspicious of their arguments.

Russia Rejects Israeli Request of 70 km Buffer over Iran Militias Presence

Russia has rejected a request made by Israel to create a large buffer zone on the border of the Golan Heights in an attempt to keep Iranian forces and their militias around 70 kilometers away from Israeli territories, political sources in Tel Aviv have said.

Israel had asked Russia and the US not to have a presence of Iranian forces or their militias to the west of the road connecting Damascus and the city of Al-Suwayda in southwest Syria.

The Russians only promised that the Iranians and their allies would not come any closer to Israel than five kilometers from the armistice lines between those of Bashar Assad’s regime and the rebels, the sources said.

U.S. must consider broader Iran threats when formulating new strategy: Tillerson

The United States must consider the full threat it says Iran poses to the Middle East when formulating its new policy toward Tehran, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said on Thursday, adding that Iran had breached the spirit of a 2015 nuclear deal.

Tillerson, made the comments during a visit to Britain to see Prime Minister Theresa May and foreign minister Boris Johnson. The trip was billed as focusing on the relief effort after Hurricane Irma, how to respond to North Korea’s nuclear test, and resolving the political deadlock in Libya.

But he was outspoken in his criticism of Iran when asked whether he believed it was meeting the obligations of a 2015 international nuclear agreement designed to curb an Iranian nuclear program in return for lifting most Western sanctions.

Tillerson cited the preface of the nuclear deal, which calls on Iran to contribute positively to regional security.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Secretary Tillersone, have you absolutely and completely gone barking-dog mad, in making these accusations against Iran?!?

They utterly defy logic.

And what do you mean when you state, with absolutely zero evidence, that "Iran had breached the spirit of a 2015 nuclear deal."

Sir, can you possibly please articulate the meaning of this accusation, using Mr. tougue and Mr. lips?!?

Because as far as I can see, there is no "there" here. It is a speciously meaningless accusation.

And to what specific allegations are you referring, regarding their "malicious" use of cyberactivities?!? You make this allegation, as though the US and the NSA isn't doing this kind of action, this 24/7 against countries we don't very much like.

And let's stop, please whining and moaning about Iran's "aggressively developing ballistic missiles"; as you well know, Secretary Tillerson, ballistic missiles were absolutely never a part of the P5+1 agreement to begin with.

Yes, the world knows that Israel has been cheerleading for regime change in Tehran for a very long time; but I would very, very much like you to think seriously of the broader imlications of such a US pre-emptive war against Iran.

And please understand; Israel wants regime change in this country, but only at the costs of American blood and American money.

And what, Secretary Tillerson, is Russia going to do when we invade Iran?!? Is the Duma going to hold hands, and collectively sing "Kuymbya"?!?!?

I think not, particularly in light of the reality that Russian military and civilian leadership has stated, time and time again, that should Iran be attacked, Russia will come to its aid mlitarily.

Are you really contemplating war with Russia over Iran?!?

Because the ultimate outcome of such a war may well be both catastrophic... and irreversible.

I would sincerely like to believe that these remarks about Iran were for foreign, rather than domestic, consumption, plumbing the depths of what the UK would be ready to do in participating in a US attack against Iran; because if you believe, sir, for one millisecond, that you have brought the American people on board for a war against Iran with these stupid accusations which have utterly no basis in fact, when we have been so lied to about the reasons for the wars in Libya, Afghanistan, and Iraq, you are very, badly mistaken.

Is Israel Is Getting Ready for a Major War? And No One Is Talking About It

Beginning last Monday, soldiers and reservists alike practiced simulating a 10-day-long war with Hezbollah, an Iranian-sponsored Shi’a militant group located mainly in Lebanon. Israel even prepared two field hospitals, as well as trucks and helicopters for evacuating simulated casualties.

According to the Independent, the drill began with small border skirmishes and escalated into a full-on war with the aim of completely obliterating the Lebanese opponents. Even the soldiers playing the role of Hezbollah were to be dressed in the group’s traditional attire and will don their yellow and green flag.

“The purpose of the drill is to test the fitness of the Northern Command and the relevant battalions during an emergency,” one IDF officer told Haaretz.

The drill, known as the “Light of the Grain” drill, took 18 months to plan. It utilizes fighter planes, ships, submarines, drones, cyber and canine units, and Israel’s missile defense system.

Israel's Netanyahu says will meet Trump in New York next week

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday he would meet U.S. President Donald Trump later this month during a visit to New York, where he will address the United Nations General Assembly on Sept. 26.

Netanyahu spoke to reporters accompanying him on a trip to Latin America before his plane left Tel Aviv for Argentina on Sunday night. He will also visit Colombia and Mexico before heading to New York.

In Washington, the White House did not initially respond to a request for a comment on a meeting between the two leaders.

"From Mexico I will go to New York to speak at the United Nations General Assembly and there I will meet my friend, President Donald Trump," Netanyahu said.

He added best wishes "to all our friends in the U.S. to overcome these difficult hours (during Hurricane Irma)."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Netanyahu is desperately trying to "misdirect" the Israeli public, and the world, from the burgeoning cases of corruption against himself, and his wife, which are looming large against them right now.

One has to wonder just what kind of hubristic rhetoric he will spew against both Iran and the Palestinian people, when he has his "bully pulpet" moment at the UN; I think we can be reasonably certain of "more of the same" as we heard last year, and the years before.

But more immediately, I am very concerned about what this "Israeli war whisperer" will be telling President Trump, about Iran being a clear and present danger, and MUST be dealt with IMMEDIATELY....of course, but only at the costs of American blood, and American money.

I would like to politely remind President Trump that both civilian and military leaders in Russia have been uneqivocal in stating that should Iran be attacked, they will go to its aid militarily.

The cost/benefit ration of such a war, for the US, would be horrifically bad, as any sane number-cruncher at the Pentagon will tell you, as starting such a war would absolutely not put the US on the moral, right side of history: I hope President Trump understands this, and is able to refute Netanyahu's hysterics on the issue of the US going to war against Iran with cold, hard, logic.

The Iranians have not started a war in over 200 years.

There hasn't been a year going by for the last 20 years that Israel hasn't popped off and shelled something, most recently a base in Syria.

With an airstrike, Israel "punctuates" its opposition to Syria Cease-fire Pact

Iran has a constitution. Israel does not.

Iran is a signatory to the NNPT, meaning that its nuclear program is inspected by the IAEA.

Israel refuses to become a signatory to the IAEA, or have its nuclear program inspected.

This, BTW, Mr. President, makes Israel ineligible for any US military or financial aid under the Symington Amendment.

You're welcome, Mr. President!!

The Case Against the Iranian Nuclear Deal Is One Big Lie

The latest round in their campaign was U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley’s disingenuous and falsehood-filled speech at the American Enterprise Institute last week. The speech is useful in one sense: it provides a handy summary of just about every creative and mendacious argument that die-hard opponents of the JCPOA have been cooking up since the agreement was signed. Unfortunately, it is neither an accurate guide to the agreement, to its current status, nor more importantly, to U.S. interests.

Among other things, Haley claimed — falsely — that the deal “gave Iran what it wanted up-front, in exchange for temporary promises to deliver what we want.” The truth is about 180 degrees from this claim: Iran gave up enriched uranium, destroyed 13,000 centrifuges, dismantled the Arak reactor, let the U.N. install monitoring devices, implemented the NPT Additional Protocol, and a host of other measures — all before the United States or anyone else began lifting sanctions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am deeply concerned that the Unhinged Surveilled States of America, Under President Trump's watch, are stumbling into a war against Iran after successfully pushing it out of the P5+1 Treaty.

This ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid move on the part of the USSA, may result not only in a war against Iran, in the name of "regime change", but also a war against Russia, which has consistently pledged to come to Iran's rescue, should it be attacked militarily.

And the greatest cheerleaders for such a war are none other than President Trump's BFFs in the Middle East, Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu, and Saudi Arabia's Prince Salman.

So President Trump, let me please strongly caution you about the horrific, and dark, consequences for such initiating such a war, where the US will absolutely NOT be on the right side of history: both Netanyahu and Prince Salman are hounding you for regime change in Tehran, but only at the costs of American blood, and American money, and the costs will outweigh the benefits by too wide a margin to even be conceived as a rational plan.

Time to think this one through carefully, appreciate what the US DOES have as a signatory to the P5+1, and come up with a Plan B.

The UN nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), is responsible for verification of the P5+1 nuclear deal with Iran. This means they offer monthly assessments, all of which have affirmed Iran is in total compliance with its requirements under the deal.

Monthly reminders of that fact are increasingly seen as insufficient, however, with the US government publicly attacking the pact and making wild accusations of unspecific Iranian violations. Now, IAEA officials feel obliged to publicly defend the concept of a deal, the nature of this specific deal, and Iran’s compliance all at once.

IAEA chief Amano Yukiya today defended the deal’s verification program as the “most robust” ever, noting that the IAEA has dramatically increased its number of inspections in Iran since the deal was signed, calling the pact a “clear and significant gain.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

The above was posted at antiwar.com, accompanied by the very troubling headline below:

Trump to weigh more aggressive strategy on Iran

I would very strongly caution President Trump against taking a more martial posture against Iran, and will politely remind him of the following: his BFF in the Middle East, Israel's Prime Minister Beyamin Netanyahu, is constantly clamoring for regime change in Tehran; but only at the costs of American blood and American money.

His perspective on Iran is thoroughly clouded by as much anti-Iranian propaganda the Israelis, and AIPAC, can steer his way.

And then, there is the sure and certain reality that if hostilities escalate into a shooting war between the US and Iran, Russia will most likely come to Iran's aid militarily.

ISRAELI MINISTER: TRUMP MUST FREEZE, CHANGE OR CANCEL IRAN NUKE DEAL

The prime minister must demand from President Trump that he freeze, change or cancel the Iran nuclear deal,” Intelligence Minister Israel Katz said on Monday at the IDC Herzliya International Institute for Counter-Terrorism conference.

“The lesson from North Korea,” Katz continued, “is that talks and compromise, in place of taking a stark position, with dictators who act openly and clandestinely to obtain nuclear abilities will in the end lead to crossing the threshold and to changing the rules of the game.”

US troops and Russia-backed Syrian forces set to come into contact as they close in separately on Isis

US-backed forces and Syrian government troops, supported by Russia and Iran, look set to come into contact as they each make separate advances against Isis in Syria.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) launched an offensive against Isis along the border with Iraq on Saturday, bringing them into a race with government forces marching in the same direction against the extremists.

The duelling battles for Deir Ezzor highlight the importance of the oil-rich eastern province, which has become the latest focus of the international war against tIsis, raising concerns of an eventual clash between the two sides.

UN atomic chief says Iran meeting terms of nuclear deal

The head of the U.N. agency monitoring Iran's compliance with a deal crimping its nuclear program says Tehran is honoring the agreement — an assessment that the White House is questioning as it mulls upping the pressure on the Islamic Republic.

Yukiya Amano of the International Atomic Energy Agency says Monday that the terms Iran accepted "are being implemented."

The U.S. administration has faced two 90-day certification deadlines to state whether Iran was meeting the conditions needed to continue enjoying sanctions relief under the deal and has both times backed away from a showdown. But U.S. President Donald Trump more recently has said he does not expect to certify Iran's compliance again. The next deadline is in mid-October.

Amano spoke in Vienna at the start of a 35-nation IAEA board meeting.

U.S. denies Iran report of confrontation with U.S. vessel

An Iranian military vessel confronted an American warship in the Gulf and warned it to stay away from a damaged Iranian fishing boat, Tasnim news agency reported on Sunday, but the U.S. Navy denied any direct contact with Iranian forces.

The American vessel turned away after the warning from the Iranian ship, which belonged to the naval branch of the Iranian army, according to Tasnim. The Iranian military vessel then towed the fishing boat, which had sent out a distress signal after taking on water, back to shore.

Haley Debuts Trump’s Case for Ending Iran Nuke Deal

While UN ambassador Nikki Haley certainly didn’t come to the American Enterprise Institute Tuesday to praise the nuclear agreement with Iran, she insisted she wasn’t there to bury it either.

But we think she doth protest too much. Because that is exactly what she set out to do.

“I’m not making the case for decertifying (the agreement),” she told her rapt AEI audience. “I’m just saying if he (president) should decertify, he has the grounds.”

Haley then warned for what would not be the last time that we shouldn’t just assume that the Iranians were “doing the right thing.”

“What if they weren’t doing the right thing?” Haley presupposed, “And when that 10-year (expiration) hits … they start a nuclear war?”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ambassador Haley, a word, please!

Your Wikipedia bio states the following:

"She graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor's degree in accounting."

I notice that in no part of your education, were you ever documented as having taken any courses in physics, nuclear technology, or nuclear weaponry.

Those highly trained and skilled member of the IAEA, who DO have the education and training to make an intelligent judgement in these matters, have certified Iran to be conforming to all aspects of the P5+1 , for the 8th time in a row, since the accord was reached.

And under what grounds can President Trump possibly claim decertification, when the IAEA claims that there are no grounds for his doing so?!?

Also, apparently you didn't get the following memo, or chose not to read it, appearing at sputniknews.com just two days ago:

Iran Condemns Pyongyang's Nuclear Tests

The article goes on to state:

"According to Iranian parliamentarian Morteza Saffari Natanzi, who is a member of the country’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Iran is against nuclear weapons tests by any country and strongly condemns Pyongyang’s latest test of an alleged hydrogen bomb, the Iran Front Page reported.
"Based on a religious decree by Iran's leader [Ayatollah Ali Khamenei], Tehran is totally against any production of weapons of mass destruction," he said in an interview.

"'Iran has a nuclear program that included a research reactor, uranium mines, uranium processing facilities and uranium enrichment plants. It maintained for decades that its nuclear program was purely peaceful and civil, but was slammed repeatedly with sanctions by the US and the UN, alleging that Iran was secretly trying to develop a nuclear weapons program.

The Iranian lawmaker voiced his concern over the growing number of nuclear weapons in North Korea, saying that North Korea's missile tests are Pyongyang's way of showing the United States that they are indeed powerful, especially since the United States has a history of interfering in world politics."

So, Ambassador Haley, THIS is the country from which the US expects a nuclear war, when they have initiated no wars whatsoever over the last 200 years?!?

Please, the world understands, very clearly, that Israel desperately wants regime change in Iran, but only at the costs of American blood and American money.

Whatever Tel Aviv is paying you to projectile-vomit this codswallop, it cannot possibly be enough!!

Israeli Intel Chief: Military Working to Attack Enemies ‘Near and Far’

While refusing to confirm or deny reports of Israel’s overnight attack on a Syrian military base, IDF military intelligence chief Maj. Gen. Harzi Halevi bragged of the Israeli military’s capabilities, saying they would continue to attack enemies “near and far.”

Maj. Gen. Halevi made it very clear that when he says “enemies,” he mans Iran, playing up the “threat” posed by Iranian forces in Syria, as well as Iranian forces in Iran. He played up the “precise intelligence” which Israel has for targeting them everywhere in the region.

These comments were echoed by Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman, who also dodged the question about attacking Syria, but said that Israel was “ready and determined to defend ourselves,” also playing up the idea that this would be against Iran.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Defense" for the Israeli government, has most generally translated as "offense" against peaceful countries in the region with which it steadfastly refuses to get along.

I would, however, politely issue a caveat for both Maj. Gen. Halevi and Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman: any Israeli-generated war against Iran will almost certainly mean a war with Russia, as both Russian military and civilian leadership have, collectively, gone on the record as stating that should Iran be attacked, Russia will come to Iran's aid militarily.

And gentlemen,I would politely ask you to please, collectively, disabuse yourselves of the notion that Americans are eager to sacrifice more blood and money to what is essentially an Israeli cause; Americans, after having been lied into those debacles which are the war in Afghanistan, and the war in Iraq, are both intensely war-weary, and war-skeptical.

What may be seen nationally as an Israeli imperative for regime change in Tehran, doesn't translate well at all to most American working people, no matter how hard AIPAC pushes this agenda: that Tehran must be regime changed, to please Israel, but America must bear the brunt of all the costs, both human, and financial, to accomplish such an end.

Iran Condemns Pyongyang’s Nuke Tests, Says War 'Imminent’ Without Talks

According to Iranian parliamentarian Morteza Saffari Natanzi, who is a member of the country’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Iran is against nuclear weapons tests by any country and strongly condemns Pyongyang’s latest test of an alleged hydrogen bomb, the Iran Front Page reported.

ISRAEL LAUNCHES AIR STRIKES ON SYRIA AND ASSAD'S "WAITING GAME"

Immediately after Israel's latest unprovoked strike on Syria we posed the question, did Benjamin Netanyahu just panic? The answer is yes, Israel is now acting from a position of desperation as it has failed in its goal of regime change in Syria. Overnight (Wed. evening/Thursday early morning), Israel attacked a Syrian military base near the town of Masyaf at about 3:00 a.m. which Syria has now confirmed in a statement that warns of "serious repercussions". Syria reported two troop deaths in the attack. It appears to have been a massive strike - grainy photos show a large fireball lighting up the night sky outside of Masyaf.

But this is the reason for Israeli media and defense officials quickly claiming that the strike at Masyaf was on a chemical weapons facility: they know the "humanitarian" angle sells in the West, especially when coupled with allegations of civilians being gassed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As reported in salon.com:

Seymour Hersh Casts Doubt on Reported Syrian Gas Attack

Right now, Netanyahu and his wife have been the targets of corruption probes in Israel. I do not know if these attacks are an attempt at "misdirection" of the national and international press, but the reputations of both of them havebeen irreparably damaged, making Netanyahu, geopolitically, a very wounded animal.

And nothing is more dangerous in this world than a geopolitically wounded animal, because it is impossible to know precisely where they will lash out, or why.

In his diminished emotional and intellectual state, Netanyahu may just haul off and attack Iran directly, expecting that the US will scream "We'll fight with you!" when a war against Iran most probably translates into a war with Russia, which the US military is thoroughly unprepared to successfully undertake.

Netanyahu is scheduled to address the UN on 19 September.

Israel strikes deep in Syria, said to hit military facility

Israeli warplanes struck a military position near the Mediterranean coast in western Syria Thursday, killing two soldiers, the Syrian army said, in a stronghold of President Bashar Assad that is also heavily protected by the Russians and Iranians.

The airstrike targeted a facility near the town of Masyaf, in Hama province, described by some as a missile producing factory, amid Israeli outrage over Iran's growing influence in the war-torn country.

Other reports suggested the facility was tied to Syria's chemical weapons program.

In a statement, the Syrian army said the Israeli warplanes fired several missiles from Lebanese air space, and warned of the "dangerous repercussions of such hostile acts on the security and stability of the region."

Webmaster's Commentary:

In his last audience with Russian President Putin, Netanyahu made the comment that Israel would continue hitting Syria to prevent an Iranian presence here. He has now done precisely what he promised.

There will most likely be repercussions from this bombing, which may well be asymmetric in nature.

Nikki Haley: Trump Has Grounds to Declare Iran in Violation of Nuclear Deal

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley on Tuesday said President Donald Trump would be justified if he denied Iranian compliance to the nuclear accord when it comes up for a quarterly review next month, though she said she does not know what Trump will decide.

In a speech at the American Enterprise Institute think tank in Washington, D.C., Haley detailed a strong case for Trump to declare Iran in violation of the agreement, warning the United States will be "dealing with the next North Korea" if the regime is left unchecked.

"We're allowing them to have behavior that's in violation of the resolution right in front of us," she said. "We're allowing them to sit there and actually tell the [International Atomic Energy Agency] that they're not going to let them inspect military sites where we know they have had covert nuclear operations in the past. What I want the country to understand is we need to wake up."

Unwinding the Iran Nuclear Deal

What the Iranians negotiated about was not so much the “bomb” – to be or not to be – but about their pride and their position in the world and their right to become a thriving economic and political power inured from sanctions or military threats. (Sanctions were imposed before the nuclear issue came to the fore.)

The nuclear program was first and foremost about creating leverage so that Iran could regain the sort of respect that the offspring of the Persian Empire once was given. Second, it was about making sure that Iran is not found short when its oil reserves start to shrink. (Iran also has heavily invested in solar energy.)

For Iran, negotiations were a suggestive game of hide and seek, played in front of all-angled, reflecting mirrors. They were not about actually building a bomb or, as we used to say in Pakistan’s pre-bomb days, of being “a screwdriver away from completing a bomb”.

IAEA report bars Trump from derailing nuclear deal: Analyst

IAEA: Iran Complying With Nuclear Deal

n their latest monthly statement on the P5+1 nuclear deal, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has once again confirmed that Iran is in total compliance with the deal, and that its low-enriched uranium stockpile is well within limits.

This is the statement they’ve issued every time since the deal was implemented, but comes at an increasingly important time, as President Trump has repeatedly claimed he considers Iran to be in violation is some non-specific way.

It also comes amid calls from US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley for the IAEA to inspect all of Iran’s conventional military facilities, to try to look for some violations. The IAEA, however, has insisted that there is no need for this.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ambassador Haley has proven herself an absolute, consummate embarrassment to the Trump administration, by attempting to go after issues regarding Iran, which were never part of the original P5+1 deal.

Unless the Administration has something highly specific that they can point to, this witch hunt against Iran should be over by now.

But of course, it will not be over, because Israel's Netanyahu is very keen on regime change in Tehran, but let me remind you, only at the costs of American blood, and American money.

So look for some horrific false flag to be blamed on Iran, and off we go to war against it; this will, of course, nearly certainly mean war against Russia, which has promised to defend Iran, should it be attacked militarily.

IAEA Doesn’t Check Iran Military Sites for Nukes Because There’s ‘No Reason To’

United Nations watchdogs have said that they don’t believe it necessary to search Iranian military sites to verify that they are in compliance with the 2015 Iran nuclear agreement, as they do not suspect any misdoings on the facilities. The US has strongly pushed the UN to inspect Iranian military sites, which have not been investigated thus far.

IAEA has no reason to inspect Iran's military sites: Officials

The comments came after US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley met last week with IAEA officials in an attempt to push the UN nuclear watchdog into requesting inspections of Iranian military sites.

The UN watchdog monitoring Iran’s nuclear activities confirmed that the country is fully in compliance with its 2015 nuclear agreement with world powers, even as Donald Trump, who labelled it “the worst deal ever,” threatens to scrap it.

Iran is also not conducting “any uranium enrichment or related research and development activities” at its Fordo nuclear plant, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) added, as cited by AFP.

Iran, Again

Israel has been pushing hard on Washington, recently having sent a high-level combined intelligence and military delegation to confer with National Security Adviser H. R. McMaster and Special Mideast Envoy Jason Greenblatt to explain the alleged Iranian threat. And the neocon chorus is also signaling that it expects the Trump Administration to do something. Frederick Hof of the hardline Atlantic Council recently wrote that the fundamental mistake made by Washington consisted of not invading Syria and installing an acceptable government years ago, which would have kept Iran out.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When there are huge differences in how the US and Israel perceive "alleged world threats", the US government should follow its own path, rather than any path dictated by Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu.

Right now, he is the subject of a corruption trial coming up, which makes him geopolitically wounded; and nothing is more dangerous that a geopolitically wounded politician. So he feels as though a war against Iran will give him some desperately needed "distraction".

It is widely understood that Tel Aviv has been cheerleading for regime change in Tehran for some time; but of course, with the cost being borne only in American blood, and with American money.

But there is one factor Giraldi didn't mention in his article (and I consider him an excellent, fact-based blogger) and that is the following: the 6,000 lb gorilla, napping on the Bosendorfer grand, by the name of Russia.

Russian officials and military personnel have long stated that any attack against Iran would be met by a Russian attack against the perpetrator.

Should anything happen to Iran, this will be a threat to our national security

Russian Air Defense will Protect Iran

I would politely suggest to President Trump that any attack against Iran by the US/and or Israel will result in Russia coming to Iran's aid militarily, and their military capabilities, as evidenced by their tour de force performance in Syria, are formidable.

I would also like to politely suggest to President Trump, and Sec Def Mattis, that right now, the US military does not have the troop strength, the weaponry, the manufacturing, or the money to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war with Russia over Iran.

And to both President Trump and Sec Def Mattis, please understand: the purpose of this trip by Israel's Special Mideast Envoy Jason Greenblatt, is to get the US government to sign off on waging an unprovoked war against Iran, for absolutely no good reason, which could have devastating implications both domestically, and internationally.

I respectfully counsel calmness, and restraint.

US Intel Officials Resist Trump’s Push to Claim Iran ‘Violates’ Nuclear Deal

Reports out of the US intelligence community suggest that President Trump’s cabinet push to declare Iran in violation of the P5+1 nuclear deal has expanded into pressure against intelligence analysts themselves to try to invent some sort of justification for the claim Trump desperately wants to make.

At the same time, officials say that the beating the intelligence community took for its role in lying the US into war in 2003 is informing its decision on the matter, and that many are very resistant to letting their assessments become politicized.

Former CIA analyst Ned Price was very frank about the matter, saying “they told me there was a sense of revulsion. There was a sense of deja vu. There was a sense of ‘we’ve seen this movie before’.” Other officials suggested Trump made his conclusion first and is now trying to get the intelligence community to find evidence to back it up.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Good on the intel people, standing their ground in this instance.

But the deeper problem, here, is this; every bit of info and intel President Trump has on Iran is coloured by the deep and unrelenting prejudices of AIPAC; the Saudis, Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu; and the Neocons, who are itching to invade Iran in order to control its oil pipelines.

But Mr. President, if I may please have word here?!?

Invading Iran, most probably on another false flag/lie, is going to greatly alienate your base, because during your campaign, you swore to the American people that you would disengage from using war as your only plausible weapon with which to resolve this country's geopolitical challenges.

Such a move would completely void that promise; and you are dealing with a VERY war-weary, war-skeptical country.

And sir, there's that added bit of Russia having promised Iran that should it be invaded, Russia will come to its aid militarily.
/strong>

Do the risk/benefit assessments on such a war, coming from the Pentagon, even mention this well-known fact?!?

And sir, war against Russia over Iran is a really, really bad decision to be making right now; and I say that both as a person who does care greatly for this country, and someone who has to blurt out what I strongly believe to be the truth: at this moment in its history, the US military does not have the troop strength; the weaponry; the money, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war with Russia.

I hope and pray that your trinity of "President Whisperers", consisting of Mattis, Mc Masters, and Kelly, are giving you straight answers on these issues.

Also, to accuse Iran of violating the P5+1 agreement, when the IAEA demonstrably concludes that they have not, will make this country look like the nether end of a jaysap in the eyes of the world, just to get a war going to control their pipelines, and make your BFF, Israel's Netanyahu, happy.

Of course, Tel Aviv has always been shilling for regime change in Tehran; but only if the costs are borne in American blood, and with American money.

Iran, Again

When politicians are feeling the heat, they start a war and their popularity goes up even if the war is unnecessary or completely ridiculous. Donald Trump, the presidential candidate who promised that he would not take the nation into another Middle Eastern war, did so when he launched a fifty-nine cruise missile barrage against a Syrian Air Base even before he knew for sure what had happened on the ground. It was totally stupid but proved to be popular, even among talking heads and Congressmen, some of whom described his action as “presidential” in the best sense of the word.

Putin and Netanyahu: The World’s Most Powerful President Meets the World’s Most Powerful Liar

There is no doubt that Vladimir Putin is the world’s most powerful President. By comparison, while China’s Xi Jinping is highly powerful and intelligent, China’s leadership retains a collective element while in Russia, Vladimir Putin maintains an unwritten but obvious veto power over all major decisions.

By the same extrapolation it is abundantly clear that Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli leader is the world’s most powerful liar. His power comes from the fact that he is in charge of the highest portion of weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East, including nuclear weapons.

His dishonesty is immediately revealed by his statements about Iran. When speaking in front of the Russian President, Netanyahu said,

“…where the defeated Islamic State (Daesh) group vanishes, Iran is stepping in”.

This statement is disingenuous on many levels. First of all, Netanyahu stated to Putin that he felt that Iran is a danger and secondly, that this danger is tantamount to that of Daesh.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These are dangerous times for Israel's Prime Minister; caught in a corruption probe at home, Corruption and bribery: Netanyahu Chief of Staff Revelations and disdained by heads of state abroad, he has become geopolitically cornered, and wounded; and no one can be more vicious than a cornered, wounded politician.

Several days ago, Prime Minister Netanyahu made the following statement:

IDF will stop Iranian threat in Syria, declares Israeli defense minister

The article then goes on to say:

"Source: IDF will stop Iranian threat in Syria, declares Israeli defense minister

Israel will do what it takes to prevent an Iranian threat on its northern border, Liberman declared."

"Israel will not stand by while Iran advances in Syria and establishes itself militarily on Israel’s northern border, Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman stated."

So is the Israeli government seriously looking at attacking Syria, using the excuse/justification that the presence of Iranian forces is just too large to tolerate?!?

Were I a betting woman, I would not bet against Netanyahu doing something like this, in order to deflect attention from his upcoming corruption trial.

And if that happens, what wil Russia do at that point?!?

I seriously hope that when Putin and Netanyahu met last week to discuss this, Russia issued some red lines here regarding Syria, in terms of what absolutely cannot be tolerated, in terms of an Israeli military response.

Also, if there is an American military component to Israel's plans for Syria, that could well mean war against Russia and Iran over this country.

"Since the start of the crisis in Syria and other crises in the region, the Islamic Republic of Iran has pursued the stable policy of putting an end to these crises fast and it attaches importance to stopping crimes against humanity by the terrorists and extensive terrorism and extremism in the region, opening a political horizon to help the involved parties to come out of the critical situation, and restoring stability and security in the region," Jaberi Ansari told reporters after meeting UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura in Tehran on Monday.

Iran Warns of Preplanned Measures if Other Sides Violate N. Deal

Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi warned that the country has foreseen special measures if the other sides violate the 2015 nuclear deal with Tehran. "If the US violates the nuclear deal unilaterally and the EU, China and Russia powerfully continue their cooperation with Iran, the US will be isolated but if Europe accompanies the US in this regard, Iran has plans too and will not remain silent," Salehi said on Monday. Stressing that the western states are certain that Iran doesn’t seek proliferation of atomic weapons, he said, "They are more concerned about Iran's capability (to attain different modern technologies)." In relevant remarks last month, Salehi warned that the US, Israel and some of their regional allies are attempting to weaken the internationally-accepted 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and the world powers.

How US Military Presence in Middle East Driving Together Turkey, Iran, Russia

Russia, Turkey, Iran, and Syria need to team up in order to clear terrorists from Syria, Turkish political analyst Bora Bayraktar told Sputnik, adding that the US military buildup in the region, as well as the threat of the creation of independent Kurdish entities, allow for new regional alliances to blossom.
The US military buildup in the Middle East has pushed regional players and their allies to form new alliances in order to restore stability in the region, Turkish journalist and political analyst Bora Bayraktar says.

"The US presence [the Middle East] and strengthening of its positions [there] is triggering security concerns among the region's players, and do pushing them to create new alliances and consolidate efforts in the face of common danger," Bayraktar told Sputnik Turkey.

Webmaster's Commentary:

How deliciously ironic, that US military presence in the Middle East, coupled with the the threat of balkanisation of countries like Iraq and Syria, has drawn the leadership of these three countries together!!

Saudi Arabia and Israel Might 'Directly Intervene' in Syrian Conflict

Sputnik Radio discussed this statement with Israel Shamir, a Russian-Israeli journalist and Middle East expert, who said that the Russian Defense Minister could be a "little bit overoptimistic."

"There is a danger that some external forces would not agree with the settlement of the Syrian war. Those forces are Saudi Arabia and Israel," Shamir told Sputnik.

Once upon a time, Syria was a powerful state, he went on. However now it is in disarray, therefore Saudi Arabia and Israel are worried that this change on the ground could be to the advantage of Iran.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, that is how this is going to come down; the US and Israel taking chunks out of Syria,to be "awarded" to the Kurds for an independent Kurdistan, with certain provisions as to who actually controls Kurdish oil,and in what currencies for which it is sold.

Israel’s Alarm over Syrian Debacle

But rather than making a wider war less likely, the upshot is to make it even more. Having bet on the wrong horse, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu now finds himself facing a nightmare scenario in which Iran takes advantage of Assad’s winning streak to extend its reach from Iraq and Syria into Lebanon beyond. It’s not just a question of political influence, but of the emergence of a powerful Iranian-led military bloc.

Eleven years after fighting a vicious 34-day war in southern Lebanon, Israel thus finds itself facing not only Hezbollah but the Syrian Arab Army, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards, and Iraqi Shi‘ite militias – all backed by Russian military might – in a front extending across its entire northern border. All are battle-hardened after years of combat, better armed, better led, and more self-confident to boot. Israel finds itself confronting a new threat that is many times more powerful than Hezbollah (or Syria) alone.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is the "justification" Israeli politicians will make to the world for a pre-emptive strike against Syria.

And the proof to Israel's claim that Iran is building a missile factory in Syria's Baniyas? Most probably non-existent, unless someone from Tel Aviv can show the world incontrovertible, non-photo-shopped 2017 images of this alleged bomb manufacturing site.

Prime Minister Netanyahu, a word, please: you have used the "scaremonger/victim" card, as a characterisation of Israel, one too many times, so it has lost its luster for thinking people around the world.

And I would very politely remind those in the Bowels of Power in Tel Aviv that Iran hasn't started a war in over two hundred years.

IF, in fact, Iranian missiles are being manufactured at Baniyas, they will only be defensive in nature, to prevent a US/Israeli attack against it.

Please, what logical reason would Iran have to attack Israel?!? The short answer is, none!!

Iran's Majlis and senior government officials are many things; but they are not fools. They understand that any attack against Israel would bring the US into the fray immediately, and turn Iran into molten glass, should they dare to try it.

One of the things Netanyahu HATED about the P5+1 accord, was that it stopped its nuclear weapons program (and is still declared in compliance with that treaty by the IAEA very recently), which meant that the Americans had no reason to invade Iran, and regime change it.

Oh, yes: the Israeli government is very keen on regime change in Tehran; but explicitly wants all the costs in blood and money be borne by the Unhinged Surveilled States of Amerika.

IF Israel goes ahead with any bombing of Syria, it will entail a mighty military effort from the US as well, and most probably a nasty military response from Russia, which is protecting the Al-Asad government in Damascus.

One of the things the Israeli government loves to do to its own people, is to terrify them into believing, every second, that Israel is under near-immediate threat of attack from its Arab neighbors, when logic indicates that Israel, through generous financial and military assistance, is bristling with weapons and personnel who understand how to fight back, or initiate a strike, when commanded.

So I would suggest that the Arab nations surrounding Israel have every reason to be concerned about pre-emptive strikes against them, rather than the other way round. This threat of a strike against Syria is a perfect example of that.

Iran Ready to Support Saudi Arabia in Improving Bilateral Ties

Iranian Foreign Minister claimed that his country is willing to support Saudi Arabia's move to improve bilateral relations.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Iran is ready to improve bilateral relation with Saudi Arabia whenever the latter expresses a similar interest, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif said Thursday.

“If the Saudi authorities take steps to improve their relations with us, Iran will certainly respond in a positive manner,” Zarif was quoted as saying by the Anadolu news agency.

Can’t We Get Along? Saudis Ask Iraq to Help Resolve Rivalry with Iran
The two states are expected to begin a series of diplomatic contacts next month, the news outlet reported. T

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: IF these reports are true, and I am reading the tea-leaves correctly, should Saudi Arabia deepen its relations with Tehran, the US will not have its proxy army in Saudi Arabia to fight a war against Iran.

The only country in the region with a leadership which will be collectively excreting bricks with be that of Israel; I am almost willing to bet Netenyahu is at this moment in time, developing several false flag scenarios to blame on Iran and/or Saudi Arabia, with the intentionally of destroying the fledgling trust and rapprochment between these countries.

NETANYAHU TO PUTIN: IRAN MUST LEAVE SYRIA OR "WE WILL ACT"

For Netanyahu and other Israeli officials the chief concern was never the black clad death cult which filmed itself beheading Americans and burning people alive. "Let the Sunni evil prevail," they say.

Israel is threatening to escalate military action in Syria against perceived Iranian interests. This week Netanyahu declared, "we will act when necessary according to our red lines" while hinting he prefers ISIS presence in Syria as opposed to Iran aligned fighters at his border. This comes as ISIS is now crumbling, and at a time when most world leaders of nations driving the external proxy war in Syria have toned down their rhetoric regarding the future fate of the Assad government.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Prime Minister Netanyahu, where are you hearing the following?!? ""We cannot forget for a single minute that Iran threatens every day to annihilate Israel."

Are the voices in your head getting louder, perhaps, sir?!?

Because in semi-official Iranian blogs such as presstv.com, and farsnews.com, which I read and to which I link pretty much daily, there is not a word about destroying Israel, but some deep, and intelligent, criticisms of how Israel treats the Palestinians, and particularly Palestinian children.

Where, please, do indefinite detentions, and the routine torture of children, to get them to accuse others in their communities of crimes they did not commit,"fit" in the only alleged democracy in the Middle East, which, by the way, still has no constitution, 69 years after it was founded?!?

Just curious, sir.

You could immediately make peace in a win/win situation by flying to Tehran, and developing a relationship with President Rouhani. And the reality here, sir, is that unlike what one sees in anti-Iranian Israeli propaganda, Jews in Iran are thriving.

Don't Tell Mother I'm In Iran

But of course, you won't, because part of the power Israeli politicians hold over their people is the power of fear; that the others in the region are ready to tear the hearts out of Israeli children, when it is generally Israeli settlers who are illegally claiming Palestinian land; encroaching more deeply in East Jerusalem, and the West Bank, and briskly evicting Palestinians whose families have lived on certain spots for multiple generations.

And we all know that you most likely won't be fighting directly against Iranians in Syria; you have the American troops to do do that for you.

American troops will be in Syria for decades

An independent Kurdistan is being established in sections of Iraq and Kurdistan, in order to balkanize those countries, and control their oil, something Israel is encouraging.

And we all know that you would love to regime change Tehran, but only at the costs of American blood and American money.

So please, don't give us this codswallop about "Iranian aggression", when Israeli aggression against its neighbors and the Palestinians have made it the absolute pariah of the entire Middle East.

Netanyahu Meets Putin, Rants About Iran, Putin Ignores Him

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has launched a scathing attack on Iran, saying it threatens existence of Israel in the region, after meeting with the Russian President Vladimir Putin in the city of Sochi.

Netanyahu, who arrived in the company of Mossad chiefs and members of the National Security Council, launched multiple verbal attacks on Iran, accusing it of continuing to threaten the existence of the State of Israel, namely by supporting “terrorist organizations” and developing a nuclear program.

“The situation in the Middle East is now very dynamic and Iran is making tremendous efforts to strengthen its presence in Syria, which is a threat to Israel, the Middle East, and I believe the whole world too”, Netanyahu said.

Putin, however, did not respond to Netanyahu's comments about Iran's role in Syria. He did not respond about his threats of a possible unilateral military action to prevent the Iranian presence in Syria, either.

Moqtada Al-Sadr and Saudi Arabia— The New Allies

After the meeting with Mohamed Bin Salman and other Saudi officials, Al-Sadr’s office stated that there would be a Saudi consulate in Najaf. Although looking at the suggestion superficially the intention seems to be to strengthen the Saudi relations with Iraqi government, there is more to that. It’s not a coincidence that Najaf was chosen. This would give Saudi Arabia the opportunity to crackdown on Shia opposition in the gulf countries while using religious authorities like Al-Sadr on their side. Al-Sadr left to Iraq, and Saudi bulldozers flattened Awamiya, terrorizing people and forcing hundreds to flee.

Haley Demands IAEA Launch New Inspections of Iran Military Sites

Heading to Vienna to meet with officials at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley intends to demand that the agency begin conducting thorough inspections of Iranian military sites, claiming the P5+1 deal gives them authority “to look at any suspicious sites.”

This is likely to be a matter of serious dispute, as before the P5+1 deal was signed, the IAEA had already confirmed all issues surrounding Iran’s military sites were resolved, and the public version of the P5+1 text does not give them any access to random military sites for inspections.

Despite Haley’s claim that the IAEA has such authority, she goes on to accuse Iran of having something to hide, likely because she knows full well Iran isn’t going to comply with these demands, even if the IAEA capitulates and asks for access to the sites.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ambassador Haley has obviously been given her "marching orders" from Tel Aviv, through President Trump, that she has to find some way to destroy that fragile element of trust between Iran and the rest of the signatories of the P5+1, by forcing Iran to walk away from the deal, as a prelude to a US-generated war against it.

Israel demonizes Iran as its "existential enemy" in the Middle East, and wants to see it regime-changed, ASAP (but only, of course, at the costs of American blood and American money).

Should the US wage war against Iran, however, it will most probably be meeting a formidable foe here, and that will be Russia, whose politicians and military have stated, consistently, that should Iran be attacked, Russia will come to its aid militarily.

Right now, the US military does not have the troop strength; the money; the weaponry; or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war against Russia.

I hope to heaven that there are some realists in the Pentagon who understand this, and will warn President Trump against such a potential colossal military misadventure.

Iran warns it can make weapons-grade material in days if nuke deal scotched

Iran’s atomic chief warned Tuesday the Islamic Republic needs only five days to ramp up its uranium enrichment to 20 percent, a level at which the material could be used for a nuclear weapon.

Webmaster's Commentary:

No, 20 percent enrichment will not make a nuclear weapon. You need 95% or higher before you will get a nuclear detonation.

Iranian court orders US to pay $245 million to victims of chemical weapons during Iran-Iraq War

An Iranian court demanded the US administration to pay $245 million to the victims of chemical attacks carried out by Saddam Hussein’s forces during the Iran-Iraqi war of 1980-1988, Iran’s Judiciary spokesman Gholam Hossein Mohseni Eje’i said Sunday. “A number of people who have been harmed during the chemical bombing have filed lawsuits and a court has issued decrees for 18 of them who have been harmed or died and estimated their ransom,” Mohseni Eje’i was quoted as saying by the Fars news agency. In September 1980, Hussein started the invasion of Iran. The devastating war that followed only ended in 1988. An estimated 1.5 million people died in the conflict. During the war Washington supported Iraq with monetary assistance, weaponry, intelligence, technology and also provided materials found by UN experts in the fragments of chemical weapons used by the Iraqi army in Iran.

The World Remembers the 64th Anniversary of the West-sponsored Coup in Iran

Peaceful, tolerant and socially oriented Islam was seen as a tremendous threat, at least in London, Washington, and Paris. It had to be stopped, even destroyed – resolutely and by all available means. Only the pre-approved Wahhabism, which was collaborative with the West and from the onset at least partially ‘co-produced’ by the British Empire, was singled-out and allowed to ‘bloom and succeed’.

Iran fell first, in 1953.

Actually, it did not fall; it was brutally destroyed.

According to the logic of the Empire, Iran had to be derailed and ruined, in order to prevent so-called ‘domino effect’.

As written by Irfan Ahmad, an Associate Professor of Political Anthropology at Australian Catholic University, Melbourne and author of “Islamism and Democracy in India”:

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Regime change; why it's just as American as apple pie!!" - Official Pentagon Souse.

And please, don't think for a moment that those in the bowels of power in DC are not continually plotting another regime change in Iran, to make the government more western-centric; to insure that only western countries are in control o Iran's oil; and to insure that Iran's oil is only sold for US dollars.
