US Dems’ Policy In Favor Of Israel Can Change By Someone ‘With Ethics’

Changing US Democrats’ traditional proclivity for Israel despite all the crimes the regime commits against humanity needs some candidate “with ethics” like Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, says a Washington-based author.

The Democratic candidate, running against pro-Israel Hilary Clinton, recently spoke of an “evenhanded” treatment of Palestinians in the US politics, gripped with a penchant for Tel Aviv.

As Israel Moves Rightward, Many Are Annoyed Military Isn’t Going With Them

Yesterday, some 200 former top Israeli military and other security officials issued a policy paper proposing making peace with the Palestinians, including concessions that even the “center-left” political opposition would never dare to articulate.

This is just the latest salvo in a growing war of words between an Israel that is shifting dramatically rightward, and a military that not only isn’t going along for the ride, but increasingly willing, past and present, to dissent from the nationalist line.

Unraveling Netanyahu's Sephardic spin

On paper the story seems both simple and innocuous: early last week Netanyahu announced that his brother, Ido, had taken a D.N.A. test, according to which the Netanyahu family can actually trace its roots back to Spain. Thus, Netanyahu implied, Israel finally had its own (at least partially) Sephardic prime minister.

Christopher Bollyn: How Israel Created the Fiend for the War on Terror

The War on Terror is essentially an Israeli war strategy. It was first promoted on the world stage by Benjamin Netanyahu and Menachem Begin (of the terrorist Likud party) at the Jerusalem Conference hosted by the Netanyahu Institute in July 1979.

According to the War on Terror doctrine advocated by Netanyahu, "Islamic terrorists" attack Israel because it is a Western state with Western values. The West, Netanyahu says, is the real target so the U.S. must lead the West in waging a global War on Terror to destroy Islamic terrorists and the regimes that support them. This is exactly what the United States has done since 9/11, at incredible expense to its own population, leaving a trail of devastated nations in its wake.

The Israeli construct was designed to get the U.S. to destroy the enemies of the Zionist state. The Israelis developed the War on Terror construct and then created the Islamic opponent, al Qaida, to serve as the antithesis – the virulent enemy of the West. The real purpose of al Qaida, and its subsequent iterations like ISIS, is to be a moving target used to destabilize and destroy sovereign countries, like Syria, while sustaining the illusion of an Islamic antithesis, posing a mortal threat to the security of the West. The Zionist-controlled media is the essential element in selling the fraudulent War on Terror to the public.

Days After Forming, Israel’s Far-Right Govt May Be Near Collapse

Just days after the establishment of Israel’s new far-right coalition government, reports from the nation’s Channel 10 say that the move may be backfiring, and that the coalition is on the verge of collapse amid infighting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Jewish Home leader Naftali Bennett.

Netanyahu and Bennett had been arguing for awhile, but with the introduction of the new coalition, including far-right Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman, Bennett has been holding out for an overhaul to the security cabinet, something Netanyahu is rejecting.

This is just one of several problems facing the coalition, as the rightward shift is also alienating relative moderates. With former Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon already having resigned, the coalition has lost another minister today, as Kulanu’s Environment Minister Avi Gabbay left, citing concerns about the “extremist government.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

A fresh election; what a true miracle for the Israeli people - and the world - were this to come about!! :-)

However, having watched Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's career over the years, I wouldn't hold my breath on this; he is both wily, and hubristic in the extreme, and I would be willing to bet that he has some scheme for preventing that new election from ever happening.

Israeli Weapons Flow to Azerbaijan

In early April, as renewed fighting between Azerbaijan and Armenia over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region made headlines in Turkey, there was little talk of the crucial role of Israeli weapons in the clashes. Only the daily Hurriyet reported on Azerbaijan’s use of the Israeli Harop armed drone, which generated Armenian protests.

Justice and Development Party (AKP) spokesperson Omer Celik summarized why the issue should be important to the press: “Azerbaijan’s battle is our battle; their martyrs are our martyrs.” Indeed, Azerbaijan consistently scores as Turkey’s closest friend in Turkish public opinion polls, while Israel maintains its status as a serious threat in the same polls.

Film Review: ‘Occupation Of The American Mind’ Unravels Israel’s Propaganda War In US

While rage was building against Israel during that summertime bloodbath, in the United States the story was far different. The American people, Waters says, held firm in their support for the bombing of Gaza. The much beloved talking point that “Israel has a right to defend itself,” one that became a kind of religious mantra during that war and those before it, is explored from the very start of the film.

With help from Peter Hart, of Fair Media Watch, Yousef Munayyer, executive director of The U.S. Campaign to End The Israeli Occupation, and others, the film deconstructs the establishment media’s propaganda efforts. Yousef Munayyer argues that when we examine the formula that mainstream media outlets follow we find Israeli spokespeople are over-represented when compared to Palestinian spokespeople by a margin of 3 to 1. So when Israel is discussed, we are inundated with commentary from officials, who propagate in support of Israel’s use of violence.

Religious Extremists Waging a Quiet Revolution in Israel

In a surprise move, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu last week forced out his long-serving defense minister, Moshe Yaalon. As he stepped down, Mr Yaalon warned: “Extremist and dangerous elements have taken over Israel.”

He was referring partly to his expected successor: Avigdor Lieberman, leader of the far-right Yisrael Beiteinu party, whose trademark outbursts have included demands to bomb Egypt and behead disloyal Palestinian citizens.

But Mr Yaalon was also condemning extremism closer to home, in Mr Netanyahu’s Likud Party. Mr Yaalon is to take a break from politics. With fitting irony, his slot is to be filled on Likud’s backbenches by Yehuda Glick, a settler whose goal to destroy Jerusalem’s Al Aqsa mosque and replace it with a Jewish temple has the potential to set the Middle East on fire.

Israeli commentators pointed out that, with Mr Lieberman’s inclusion, the government will be the most extreme in Israel’s history – again.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This move to the right in Israeli politics should concern anyone who believes that a reasonable peace, negotiated in good faith, between the Palestinians and Israelis, is the only way to avoid more brutal conflict in the region.

The possibilities for peace and social justice for Palestinians are not looking terribly bright right now.

The Unraveling of Zionism?

Ideological movements, be they religious or secular, are demanding and Procrustean movements. By ideological movements I mean those that demand of their adherents resolute belief in some “deep set of truths” posited by a deity, by supposed immutable historical laws, or by some other equally unchallengeable source. Their followers, once initiated, or even just born into the fold, are expected to stay there and, as the saying goes, “keep the faith.”

However, in cultural, political and religious terms there are no eternal deep truths. History has an abrasive quality that erodes our beliefs in this god and that law. Though the process might take a longer or shorter time to manifest itself, yesterday’s faith will at some point start to ring less true. At some point followers start to fall away.

Clinton campaign is ‘nervous’ Sanders will push ‘divisive’ battle over Democratic platform on Israel

Then Bernie Sanders pulled the rug out from under her in that “contentious” April 14 debate in NY, saying that Netanyahu is not always right and that Israel used disproportionate force against Gaza in 2014, when it killed 500 children, and the audience cheered. They cheered because this is the Democratic base’s position, fairness toward Palestinians.

From Iraq to Palestine, the power of the pro-Israel lobby is plain to see

The boundaries of what is and isn’t possible change constantly in politics. We like to think that in a democracy, citizens are empowered sufficiently to partake in the process of political change; we even believe that this is a unique characteristic of our progressive society where politicians listen to the electorate, and then enact laws and policies on the basis of facts in pursuit of the national interest and human rights. Such a belief if misguided.

Nevertheless, it has been a key feature of our society: slavery, once socially acceptable and legal is universally prohibited; racial and sexual discrimination is no longer tolerated; colonisation and occupation of another country is prohibited; the denial of a people’s self-determination has become an offence. The shift also occurs in the opposite direction towards the curtailment of freedoms and the weakening of equality and human dignity. The negative shift is often more subtle.

A group of Islamic countries at the UN have condemned Israel’s organising of a photo exhibition inside the international organisation’s headquarters which describes Jerusalem as a capital for the Jewish people, Al reported on Friday.

On 3 April, the UN refused to show three photos in the gallery because they included images which contradict the UN’s positions. This led the Israeli ambassador to the UN sending a strong letter to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.

State lawmakers object to billboards honoring Navy veterans, questioning US foreign aid

Fourteen Pennsylvania House of Representatives members from South Central Pennsylvania are demanding that billboards they deem critical of Israel be removed from area highways.

“We are appalled that Pennsylvania lawmakers are taking time away from their duties representing the people of Pennsylvania to attack free speech and oppose American veterans,” says Alison Weir, representative of groups that placed the two billboards. The lawmakers sent a letter to Weir calling for the removal of the billboards.

One billboard read: “Help Liberty Veterans attacked by Israel,” and directed viewers to the website This billboard was on Highway 83 South near the Newberry exit and was scheduled for March 28 through April 28.

A Labour MP has resigned from her role as the Shadow Chancellor’s parliamentary private secretary after it emerged she was in favour of a plan for Israel to be ‘relocated’ to America.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s attempts to remake his governing coalition has set heads spinning — dumping his well-regarded defense minister to possibly bring aboard a polarizing maverick with few friends in Washington.

Everything will slowly get back to normal long after ISIL has been completely crushed. The land will be liberated, the people will return to their homes and native land. One thing will remain irrevocably destroyed and lost; Iraqi and Syrian ancient heritage and history.

According to Anatoly Fomenko's hypothesis in "History: Fiction or Science?", the holy books of the Christian church were also written in the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, or in Hebraic, and that it is possible that the “Hebraic” version of the Bible can be found among these hieroglyphs, since the very word Bible stems from the same root as the word Babylon, or Byblos. ... Curiously, he doesn’t mention Turkey. The ADL, he added, “would support U.S. acknowledgment of the Armenian Genocide.” It’s surprising that such a serious subject would only be “blogged.” But let that go. For decades the ADL has been colluding with Turkey to defeat Armenian Genocide resolutions in the U.S. Congress and to avoid acknowledging that genocide. For an organization that loudly espouses human rights and insists on Holocaust recognition and legislation, the hypocrisy has been breathtaking.

French Student Group Sues Twitter (Again) For $50 Million (Again) Over Tweets It Doesn't Like

Three years ago, we wrote about a crazy story in which the Union of Jewish French Students (UEJF) was suing Twitter for $50 million, claiming that the fact that an anti-semitic hashtag started trendng violated some sort of anti-hate speech law in France. Twitter, somewhat ridiculously, actually agreed to remove the tweets in question, saying they were offensive. Even after that, UEJF demanded that Twitter also reveal the identities of everyone who tweeted the hashtag... and won (not the money, but Twitter was told to hand over the user info)! Yeah, France is not a big supporter of free speech, we get it, but this is still ridiculous.

Why I am a bit wary when sports networks start speaking for the 'Holocaust industry'

How can you tell when "remembering" horrible events is being twisted to defend the status quo and support the powerful against the weak? When a sports network airs a Nazi Holocaust-themed show.

Last week TSN ran a six-minute video feature about Hank Rosenbaum, a Polish Jew whose life was turned upside down when German troops invaded 77 years ago. The sports angle for TSN's "Yom HaShoah, the international day of remembrance for the more than 6 million Jews who died in the Holocaust" commemoration, was that Rosenbaum became a hockey fan when he arrived in Toronto six decades ago. The sports network showed him watching his 10-year-old grandson's house league game.

While the Rosenbaum story was horrifying and more socially meaningful than TSN's typical fare, does it really represent a concern for human rights by the broadcaster?

Zionism’s Roots Help Us Interpret Israel Today

It was an assessment no one expected from the deputy head of the Israeli military. In his Holocaust Day speech last week, Yair Golan compared current trends in Israel with Germany in the early 1930s. In today’s Israel, he said, could be recognised “the revolting processes that occurred in Europe … There is nothing easier than hating the stranger, nothing easier than to stir fears and intimidate.”

The furore over Gen Golan’s remarks followed a similar outcry in Britain at statements by former London mayor Ken Livingstone. He observed that Hitler had been “supporting Zionism” in 1933 when the Nazis signed a transfer agreement, allowing some German Jews to emigrate to Palestine.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lashed out at Iran Sunday for staging a Holocaust-themed cartoon contest that mocked the Nazi genocide of six million Jews during World War II and said the Islamic Republic was busy planning for another one.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A short memo to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu: the Holocaust-themed cartoon contest may be in horrific taste, but you are absolutely lying when you state that Iran is busy planning for a new Holocaust.

Iranian leadership may be many things, but stupid is not one of them. They understand, clearly, that their country would be zorched into a sea of molten glass if they try anything as crazy as a military strike against Israel, because the retaliation, from both the US and Israel, would be nuclear should they dare do such a thing.

They, too, love their kids, and want them to have a decent future.

And another thing: President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad never said he wanted to wipe Israel off the map. As reported at

So what did Ahmadinejad actually say? To quote his exact words in farsi: ”Imam ghoft een rezhim-e ishghalgar-e qods bayad az safheh-ye ruzgar mahv shavad.” That passage will mean nothing to most people, but one word might ring a bell: rezhim-e. It is the word “Regime“, pronounced just like the English word with an extra “eh” sound at the end. Ahmadinejad did not refer to Israel the country or Israel the land mass, but the Israeli regime. This is a vastly significant distinction, as one cannot wipe a regime off the map. Ahmadinejad does not even refer to Israel by name, he instead uses the specific phrase ”rezhim-e ishghalgar-e qods” (regime occupying Jerusalem).

Mr. Prime Minister, as an erudite man, you know this to be true, rather then the fabrication you've created.. And yet you continue with this lie as though it were the truth.

Can you not understand that statements like this "Netan-bloviation" just completely demolishes any shred of credibility you might have had, not only with the Israeli electorate, but also with the world at large?!?

Do you want to go down in history as one Israel's bravest prime minister?!?

Then, sir, travel to Tehran, and negotiate a comprehensive peace deal with Iran, which includes both Israel's and Palestine's right to exist, mutual trade with Iran, educational and scientific cooperation.

THAT would take... real "male attributes!!

Hillary Clinton: “If I’m President, We Will Attack Iran… We would be Able to Totally Obliterate Them.”

As a 2008 presidential aspirant, she addressed AIPAC’s annual convention saying:

The United States stands with Israel now and forever. We have shared interests….shared ideals….common values. I have a bedrock commitment to Israel’s security.

(O)ur two nations are fighting a shared threat” against Islamic extremism. I strongly support Israel’s right to self-defense (and) believe America should aid in that defense.

I am committed to making sure that Israel maintains a military edge to meet increasing threats. I am deeply concerned about the growing threat in Gaza (and) Hamas’ campaign of terror.

No such campaign exists. The only threats Israel faces are ones it invents.

Clinton repeated tired old lies saying Hamas’ charter “calls for the destruction of Israel. Iran threatens to destroy Israel.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

The degree to which Clinton is able to continue to swallow, then spew, the hubristic rhetoric of Bibi Netanyahu on Iran is nothing short of completely amazing; if this was a world class sporting event, Hillary would definitely win the gold.

Please remember; a Clinton presidency will mean more wars; more income inequality; more federal debt; more outsourcing/offshoring of American jobs; more illegal immigration and subsequent diminution of American wages; and an increasingly fractured United States of America.

The Iranians may be many things; one of those, however, is not stupid. They do understand that any attempt at any attacks on Israel will result on their country being transformed into a molten sea of green glass by US/Israeli nuclear weapons.

Interestingly, one question regarding Iran which no one in the alleged press corps will ask her is, "If the US unilaterally attacks Iran, what will Russia do?!?

There is one video I would encourage everyone who reads WRH to see: it is titled "Don't tell My Mother I'm In Iran", and focuses on the adventures of a very charming Jewish videographer in Tehran, to investigate how the Jews in Iran are doing.

Israeli academic to use cash prize to help Palestinians

A professor who won the Israel Prize - considered one of the country's highest honours - has pledged to donate his cash prize to an Israeli group dedicated to helping Palestinians.

American-born Israeli David Shulman, a professor of Asian studies at the Hebrew university in Jerusalem who won the award for academic work, said he would donate the $20,000 prize to Ta'ayush - or Living together - an organisation he helped to found that advocates for Palestinians.

Shulman was given the award this week as part of Israel's Independence Day celebrations, an anniversary referred to by Palestinians as al-Nakba, or "the catastrophe".

"I hesitated to accept the prize given the deteriorating situation [in the occupied Palestinian territories] which includes the persecution of Ta'ayush and other peace and human rights activists by the establishment and the far right who seek to perpetuate the occupation," he said in a YouTube video.

May 15 07:29

On Jewish projection...

The Israeli fear of being thrown into the sea is a projection.

The Israelis are afraid of being pushed into the sea because they themselves pushed the Palestinians into the sea (picture above). The Israelis tend to attribute their own genocidal inclinations to Arabs (in particular) and Goyim (in general).

‘Jewish fear,’ as such, is self-inflicted -- the more brutal the Israelis are, the more fearful they become of the possibility that the Palestinians may be equally murderous. Similarly, the more the Jew hates the 'goy,' the more the Jew is mortified by the possibility that the goy may also express some animosity in return.

Jewish fear better be grasped as a war against terror within. Jews are too often tormented and haunted by their own racism and supremacy which they attribute to others by means of projection..

Why do the numbers for Auschwitz-Birkenau keep changing?

The charge against the Germans at Nuremberg was based on a document written on May 6, 1945 by the Soviet Union that was accepted into evidence by the Nuremberg IMT although there was no proof whatsoever given in this document that 4 million people had been killed. The Soviet figure of 4 million was based on the estimated capacity of the ovens at Auschwitz and Birkenau. The ovens at Birkenau had been removed by the Germans two months before they abandoned the camp, but the Soviets were still able to somehow estimate their capacity.

The Soviets also charged the German war criminals with killing 1.5 million prisoners at Majdanek. That figure has now been reduced to 78,000 by the Majdanek Museum. Out of this number, 59,000 were Jews.

A Palestinian child, Ahmad Manasra, 14, was convicted Tuesday of two counts of attempted murder, despite a lack of evidence, a video showing him being severely beaten and insulted by a crowd shouting racial slurs, and video showing Israeli interrogators brutalizing and intimidating the crying child with no family member or lawyer present.

Manasra was 13 at the time of his arrest, and the Israeli court decided to allow the prosecution’s request to delay his court hearing until January, when he turned 14 and was allowed, under Israeli law, to be tried as an adult. The Israeli Knesset used Manasra’s case as an example when they voted several months ago to change the age at which a Palestinian child can be tried as an adult from 14 to 12.

Israeli children, in contrast, are considered ‘minors’ until the age of 18.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Welcome to Israeli "justice" for Palestinian children; trumped up charges against a Palestinian kid who was beaten, brutalized, and intimidated, with no family member or lawyer present.

There are no real rules, just convictions, and long jail sentences; this is done to instill in the Palestinian community as a whole a sense of learned helplessness, and that true justice will never be theirs.

Egypt opened its border with Gaza for the first time in three months on Wednesday, giving Palestinians a two-day respite from a closure stemming from friction between Cairo and the enclave's Islamist rulers. Egypt's shuttering of Rafah and destruction of cross-border smuggling tunnels, along with tight restrictions imposed by Israel along its own frontier with Gaza, have deepened economic misery for many of the 1.9 million Palestinians in the enclave.
