Forest fires in Homs, Lattakia and Tartous decimate Syrian environment

While everyone is focused on the dramatic events in north-eastern Syria, other areas of Syria are burning. Forest fires in Homs, Lattakia and Tartous are raging across much of the farmland and vast olive and fruit tree groves. This is a disaster for the smallholders who rely upon the yield from these trees for survival and warmth in the soon-to-be-here winter.

These fires are being fought and extinguished by the SYRIAN Civil Defence, the REAL one, the Syrian Civil Defence and Fire Brigades that were established in 1953. These brigades have been the quiet heroes in this 8 year proxy war waged against the Syrian people by the western imperialist alliance.

FLASHBACK: What we saw in Syria goes against everything we read in the United States

What I have been seeing online the last few days proves the point of this 3 year old article. Syrians are turning out by the thousands to greet their Syrian Army Forces. Reminds me of the people in France greeting the American Military in WW2 as they liberated France from the NAZI's!

“When you go to Syria, which I did last month, the popularity of the government and the Syrian Arab Army is rampant. It's not out of some dream fantasy. It comes obviously from the government and the army being the only thing between living a secular life on the one hand and the hatred and violence of ISIS and the various other terrorist groups underwritten by the terrorist Saudis and US and their allies on the other.

One Rocket Provoked the US Withdrawal: Details of the Kurdish-Russian-Syrian Deal

The killing of any US soldier in Syria would effectively have been a nail in the coffin of the US President Donald Trump’s electoral campaign in 2020. France and Britain, who maintain Special Forces in NES, will follow the US forces out of Syria.

The Syrian forces were given orders to deploy in NES following a deal between Russia and Turkey, and between Russia and the Syrian officials, to guarantee the safety of the separatist Syrian Kurds.

The Russian-Kurdish deal consists of the deployment of the Syrian army on all borders with Turkey and the return of all sources of energy (gas and oil) to the Syrian government-controlled forces.

A US withdrawal from the al-Tanaf border crossing between Iraq and Syria is also expected when a solution is found for the 64,000 refugees at the Rukhba camp.

Saudis Take Control of Yemen’s Aden Under New Power-Sharing Deal

In a step toward implementing a power-sharing deal meant to end fighting in South Yemen between government and separatist forces, Saudi Arabia has temporarily taken control of the port of Aden, the de facto capital of the south.

The deal intends for the Saudis to take the city just long enough to help establish a neutral force with militias from the various sides to police and defend the area. At that point, the Saudis are meant to withdraw, as have the UAE forces.

Under the deal, the UAE-backed separatists, the Southern Transitional Council, are intended to get some additional representation in the Saudi-backed government. Exact terms have yet to be announced.

Neo-Ottoman Turkey’s ‘String of Pearls’

Since 2015, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been pushing for Syrian “safe zones” and “buffer zones” for humanitarian purposes. However, with the current media focus on the bombardment of Kurds amid the Turkish invasion of northeastern Syria, what remains submerged beneath the murky waters of Mideast politics may be Turkey’s back-door strategy to reclaim former Ottoman territories.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – OCTOBER 15, 2019: SYRIAN ARMY TAKING CONTROL OF KEY POSITIONS IN SDF-HELD AREA

On October 14, units of the Syrian Army started entering areas controlled by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in northeastern Syria.

The terms and conditions of the deal made by the SDF and Damascus are yet to be revealed, but government troops already deployed in Tabqah, Tabqah Airport, Tabqah Dam, Ayn Issa and Tal Tamir, and in the Manbij area. Syrian Army troops also moved towards the border town of Kobani. However, the situation there remains unclear. According to pro-Kurdish sources, US troops deployed there have attempted to prevent Syrian troops from entering the town by blocking the Qaraqozak bridge.

Turkey reacted to the Damascus-SDF deal by increasing its military efforts against the SDF around Tell Abyad and Ras al-Ain. Furthermore, Turkish-led forces launched an advance towards Ain Assa and Manbij, where they clashes with detachments of the Syrian Army.

Syrian govt., not US, must protect Kurds against Turkey: Trump

I have to wonder now whether Putin,Trump,Assad and Erdogan made some kind of deal.

US President Donald Trump says the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and other countries should be responsible for protecting the US-allied Kurds in northern Syria against a Turkish incursion, not the US which is "7,000 miles away" from Syria.

"Let Syria and Assad protect the Kurds and fight Turkey for their own land. I said to my Generals, why should we be fighting for Syria and Assad to protect the land of our enemy?" Trump tweeted on Monday.

"Anyone who wants to assist Syria in protecting the Kurds is good with me, whether it is Russia, China, or Napoleon Bonaparte. I hope they all do great, we are 7,000 miles away!" he went on to say.

Cautious Optimism on Turks and Kurds

Amid the usual hysterics of ‘impending genocide’ and ‘brutal betrayal’, the long-expected Turkish operation in northeast Syria is rolling, and Turkish troops accompanied by their Syrian rebel allies quickly advance into the former US occupation zone east of the Euphrates River, pushing the Kurdish nationalist militias away from the border. The American soldiers withdrew from the area by the order of their Supreme Commander (save some Special Forces who came under fire but safely retreated).

Erdogan Holding 50 US Tactical Nukes 'Hostage' As Trump Authorizes Sanctions

Amid all the media and pundit outrage since Turkey's President Erdogan launched his so-called 'Operation Peace Spring' into northeast Syria last week, vowing to wipe out Syrian Kurdish forces who've long held the border areas, what's been largely missing is acknowledgement of the uncomfortable fact that NATO ally Turkey has long hosted a major portion of America's nuclear Cold War-era arsenal stored across Europe.

And as Erdogan threatens to "open the doors and send 3.6 million migrants" to Europe while under increased international criticism for the rapidly rising civilian death toll in Syria, The New York Times reports the following bombshell Monday: some 50 US tactical nukes are "now essentially Erdogan’s hostages".

Webmaster's Commentary:

The absolute lack of thinking, on the part of those who are supposed to be counseling President Trump on issues like this, is painfully on full display right now, with this horrific oversight being one of the more glaring examples.

So, what are Turkey and Edrogan, going to do with these weapons?!? Will Pakistan's Prime Minister Khan order some Pakistani nuclear scientists to reverse engineer the damned things, and make sure their Turkish counterparts understand precisely how to make them work, and how to aim them?!?

I don't know just how terrifying this prospect is to you; but it scares the very stuffing out of me.

One out, another one in: Retreating US military meets advancing Syrian Army (VIDEO)

An unlikely road meeting of US and Syrian troops was captured in northern Syria as the American vehicles were retreating from the Kurdish-held town of Kobani, while the Syrians rushed to protect it from the Turkish-led offensive.
Getting American and Syrian government forces into a single image is quite a difficult task despite the protracted – and illegal – US military presence in the war-torn country.

PIERS MORGAN: Congratulations, Mr President - the real winners from your dumb and dangerous betrayal of the heroic Kurds are Iran, Russia and ISIS!

Defeating ISIS was one of Donald Trump’s main campaign pledges during the 2016 election race.

At the time, the terror group was America’s public enemy No1 - marauding around the Middle East with apparent impunity, killing US forces and committing despicable atrocities like burning pilots alive in cages and throwing gay people off roofs.

Candidate Trump repeatedly vowed to ‘bomb the hell’ out of ISIS and beat them into submission.

His words resonated powerfully around the world, especially in countries like Britain and France where ISIS were carrying out appalling acts of violence on civilians.

And to a large extent, President Trump kept his word.

Crocodile tears? Hillary Clinton tweets that ‘sickening horror’ in Syria is ‘one man’s fault’ and gets reminded of her deeds

Hillary Clinton has retweeted a post by an NBC correspondent about ‘atrocities’ unleashed by Turkey’s incursion in Syria, hinting that it’s all President Donald Trump’s fault. Twitter sent her down Memory Lane.

“This sickening horror is one man’s fault,” she tweeted on Saturday night, commenting on a tweet by NBC’s Richard Engel, who said US military officials are concerned that the Turkish offensive “opens the door to BOTH ethnic cleansing of Kurds and return of ISIS/Al-Qaeda.”

Some commenters were not impressed by the ‘crocodile tears’ and ‘faux outrage,’ reminding the former secretary of state of her own role in destabilizing the Middle East.

“This entire horror in Syria wouldn’t even be happening had it not been for you, Obama, Brennan and McCain arming, funding, training and empowering Al-Qaeda and ISIS terrorists in a fanatical push to overthrow the legitimate Syrian government,” one wrote.

The Privatization of US Led Wars. The Pentagon’s Private Contractors

When the United States invaded Iraq in 2003, of the $87 billion earmarked for the first year of the campaign, $30 billion was budgeted for private contractors. That’s 34% of the entire invasion-budget. Over the course of the 8-year US occupation of Iraq, the largest private recipient of Pentagon contracts was Kellogg Brown and Root, an engineering and construction company, which grossed $40.6 billion from the occupation. According to a 2011 report by the Commission on Wartime Contracting in Iraq and Afghanistan, at least $60 billion in Pentagon expenditure on private contractors over the period 2001-2011 could be classified as “fraud” or “waste.” This report estimated the level of “waste” at the time of publication at $12 million per day.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These numbers are pretty damned horrifying and depressing; perhaps not for a government ankle deep in war crimes, as the Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika has become.

I remember a time in my life, when I really believed that the US government and its military would never do anything horrible or unethical; then came the Vietnam War, and all the horrors it created, and it became impossible to look at this country other than as the vampire/vulture it had become, expropriating resources to which it had utterly no moral right, then insuring that such resources were only sold in US dollars.

This country may need private armies; but only for the care, and well-being of its citizens, particularly for the most fragile among them; not creating wars which demand mercenary support to win.

And every time the US military hires mercs for a war, they already have absolutely lost the moral high ground; forgive me, but wasn't acting from the moral high ground used to be what this country was supposed to be all about?!?

Putin Planning "Deal Of The Century" Between Syria & Turkey As US Exits

If he pulls it off,the Nobel Peace Prize and he will deserve it!

Lebanese Arabic news broadcaster Al-Mayadeen is reporting that Russia has begun organizing "reconciliation talks" between Syria and Turkey, in what would be an unprecedented development, given President Erdogan's position has long been that Turkey won't negotiate with Damascus so long as Assad is in power.

The Middle East broadcaster cited Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who said, "Moscow will ask for start of talks between Damascus and Ankara".

Russia's TASS has also confirmed the initiative, making it the first significant attempt to bring the two sides to the table, given Ankara severed diplomatic ties with Damascus in 2012. Turkey could indeed be ready given it has finally gotten its way in Syria — with a long planned attack on Syrian Kurds along the border in northern Syria, which began Wednesday with an air and ground offensive.

Turkey Warns Of War As Syrian Army Heads To Turkish Border

update2: A top Turkish official warns of bigger escalation now that Syrian Army units appear to be heading to besieged Kurdish towns along the border with Turkey.

It's as yet unclear what the Russian military's role in supporting its Syrian ally will be; however, we could be witnessing the beginnings of Putin's 'deal of the century' unfolding, as we explained previously.

Putin is capitalizing on the chaotic retreat of the US & Turkey's brutality toward the Kurds in order to assert Russia's leadership. He contrasts how Russia has stood beside its beleaguered ally, Syria, while the US has abandoned both its allies, the Kurds and the Turks. https://t.co/NjBYZzwKCG

U.S.-allied Kurds strike deal to bring Assad’s Syrian troops back into Kurdish areas

Oct. 13, 2019 at 1:47 p.m. PDT
BEIRUT — Syrian government troops began moving into towns near the Turkish border Sunday night under a deal struck with Syrian Kurds, following a chaotic day that saw the unraveling of the U.S. mission in northeastern Syria.

By the time Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper appeared on Face the Nation to announce that President Trump had ordered the final withdrawal of the 1,000 U.S. troops in northeastern Syria, it was already clear that the U.S. presence had become unsustainable, U.S. officials said.

The announcement by the Syrian Democratic Forces that they had reached an agreement with the Iranian and Russian-backed government of President Bashar al-Assad further undermined the prospect of any continued U.S. presence in the country. The deal brings forces loyal to Assad back into towns and cities that have been under Kurdish control for seven years.

Empire Uses Kurds as Pawns in its Imperial Pursuits in Syria

The situation in the North East of Syria regarding the Kurds seems to be a topic of confusion for most. Understandably so as they have been made to appear by US politicians and news outlets as the most effective fighters against terrorism in Syria. Although they have in fact been successful in driving out terrorists in some areas there is information that needs to be discussed that explains the other half of the story that is purposely hidden in the Kurdish and mainstream media news outlets. We have only been hearing from the Kurdish side now it’s time for the Syrians in Kurdish held areas to have their chance to tell us about the hardships they have been put under by the Kurds.

The Myth of the Kurdish YPG’s Moral Excellence

It’s difficult to determine with precision how many Kurds are in Syria, but it’s clear that the ethnic group comprises only a small percentage of the Syrian population (less than 10 percent according to the CIA, and 8.5 percent according to an estimate cited by Nikolaos Van Dam in his book The Struggle for Power in Syria.

While the estimates are rough, it’s clear that Kurds make up a fairly small proportion of the Syrian population and that the number of the group’s members living in Syria as a proportion of the Kurd community as a whole is very small.

Erdogan's isis Cooperation

The heroic Syrian Arab Army and its allies have been fighting a fierce war against multi-national terrorists from all over the globe. The battle against isis was the fiercest.

Turkey is recruiting and retraining isis terrorists to lead its invasion of Afrin in northern Syria, according to an ex-isis source.

“Most of those who are fighting in Afrin against the Syrian Kurds are isis, though Turkey has trained them to change their assault tactics,” said Faraj, a former isis fighter from north-east Syria who remains in close touch with isis.

Cannabis: A Lost History

Cannabis, better known as marijuana, has been used for its medicinal properties for thousands of years. Historical remnants from all around the world reveal the importance of cannabis in medicine and spirituality
The earliest written references to cannabis are found in the Chinese Materia Medica, written by Shen Nung around 2800 B.C. Nung documented 100 conditions that responded well to cannabis, including gout and rheumatism
For thousands of years, cannabis remained one of the 50 essential plants used in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The Vedas, the sacred text of India, also lists cannabis as one of five sacred plants
The ancient Egyptians, Persians and Greeks also used cannabis in a variety of ways, including medicinally and for spiritual upliftment

Pompeo Can’t Blame Iran For Attacking Itself

This frantic coup to impeach Trump on phony nebulous charges didn't materialize until after Trump refused to attack Iran over the drone shootdown. This is payback from the same people who gave us 911....Israel!!!

The people squawking the loudest about the President’s recent policy decisions in the Middle East are the ones most likely behind this.

The most likely candidate is the one actor who has consistently overstepped its bounds in attacking neighbors it considers hostile for any reason. Israel.

If the neocons and Israeli Firsters in Congress (and formerly in his cabinet) have turned on Trump to the point of starting impeachment proceedings against him for not going to war with Iran, then Trump is free to finally just blow it all wide open.

Which is exactly what he is doing. The Kurds were simply mercenaries to help us defeat ISIS. Job’s done, your beef with Turkey is your problem.

This will not be an analysis or even a commentary. Neither am I siding with, or expressing support for, the Turkish military operation in norther Syria. Finally, I am not discussing the legitimacy (or lack thereof) of the Kurdish Independence movement. All I propose to do here, is to draw your attention to a series of facts and logical imperatives which, in my opinion debunk and falsify the disinformation campaign aimed at convincing us that Putin and Netanyahu are working hand in glove or, even better, that Putin is a puppet of the Israelis. So, with that in mind, here we go:

Waging War on Iran Would Be Madness

All nations the US doesn’t control are on its target list for regime change, especially challengers to its hegemonic aims like China and Russia, along with oil rich ones like Iran and Venezuela.

That’s what US hostility toward these countries is all about, not because of a national security threat they pose — other than supporting multi-world polarity, conflicting with US hegemonic unipolar aims, a notion whose time has passed.

Iran can’t match US military power, but its capabilities can hit back hard against aggressors anywhere in the region.

Damascus vows to confront 'brutal' Turkish aggression by all legal means

“After his continuous support for terrorism in Syria, training, arming, protecting and sending terrorists to kill Syrians, the head of the Turkish regime came up today with statements that can only be made by a person detached from reality. He speaks of his commitment to protect Syrian people whilst he has the blood of the Syrian people killed by terrorists on his hands,” Syria’s official news agency SANA cited an unnamed source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates as saying in a statement on Thursday.

Ankara views the US-backed YPG as a terrorist organization tied to the homegrown Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militant group, which has been seeking an autonomous Kurdish region in Turkey since 1984.

The YPG constitutes the backbone of the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), an anti-Damascus alliance of predominantly Kurdish militants.

U.S. “Military Aid” to Al Qaeda, ISIS-Daesh

Author’s Note and Update

This article was first published by Global Research on October 2, 2016.

The United States and its allies use arms trafficking –i.e. the unregulated illicit trade in light weapons through private traders including organized crime–, to channel large amounts of weapons and ammunition to the terrorists inside Syria.

The US led coalition uses the illicit trade in light weaponry produced in Eastern Europe, the Balkans, China, etc. for delivery to rebel groups inside Syria, including ISIS-Daesh and Al Nusra. In turn, operating out of the occupied Golan Heights, Israel’s IDF has provided weapons, ammunition, logistical support to Al Qaeda rebels operating in Southern Syria.

Beetle-like Iranian robots can roll under tanks

In a video demonstration, the rovers are either single-use mines or armed with machine guns. They are shown being used as combined arms with flying multirotor scouts. Whatever the guts of the new rolling rovers, the ability to guide them remotely to targets spotted by drone adds to the range of threats small robots can pose to armored vehicles.

US cuts Turkey’s access to north-east Syria airspace ahead of military campaign

The United States (US) military has severely limited Turkey’s access to the airspace over north-east Syria, making the upcoming Turkish military operation into the area difficult without the benefit of air cover.

The US has taken a series of actions since yesterday which would potentially hinder the operation, with Pentagon spokeswoman Carla Gleason informing reporters that the Combined Air Operations Centre has removed Turkey from the anti-ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) coalition’s air tasking order, through which it coordinates the flights of member nations.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has deployed a large number of soldiers to the Deir Ezzor Governorate today as they prepare for a potential offensive east of the Euphrates.

According to an army source in Deir Ezzor, the Syrian military deployed several units, including personnel from the National Defense Forces (NDF), to front-lines with the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

Russian jet allegedly stops Israeli warplane from bombing Syria

BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:10 P.M.) – Last night, a Russian jet intercepted an Israeli warplane that was preparing to bomb a site inside of Syria, the Gallifrey Technologies Telegram channel alleged, as reported by Avia.Pro.

Shortly after this claim, the Syrian Military Capabilities Twitter account, which often reports about air activity in Syria, said an Israeli attack was expected before Russian planes swarmed southern Syria.

Between Washington's rock & Ankara's hard place, Kurds had better choose Damascus

The Kurdish people should have never placed their fate in the hands of a far off and thoroughly unreliable US “ally” which has picked them up only to put them back on the shelf so many times before. Syrian Kurds belong to Syria and it is with their Syrian neighbours and government that the SDF should have been in alliance.

But if the US has no business in Syria neither does Turkey. Least of all killing Kurds.

The U.S. Navy Isn’t Ready to Take On Iran

Whatever lay behind the indecisive Trump administration response to the alleged Sept. 14 Iranian missile and drone strike on Saudi oil facilities, one thing is clear. The United States’ ability to project power into the Persian Gulf region via carrier strike groups, the go-to U.S. option in such situations for decades, is not what it used to be, nor what it might have been.

Iran, Israel and Destiny

Although Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu struggles to form a new government and tries valiantly to stay out of jail but he has managed to find the time to pledge to spend many more shekels. Finally, it dawned on Netanyahu that Israel lags Iran in an arms race.

Israel has seriously mismanaged its conflict with Iran. For over a decade, Israel has relentlessly threatened and sought to intimidate Iran. Iran’s response has been effective: slowly but surely Iran encircled the Jewish state. Israel doesn’t share a border with Iran but Iran is present on so many of Israel’s borders.

A conflict with Iran could have lethal consequences for Israel. Israeli military experts expect that such a conflict would subject Israel’s cities to attack by thousands of well-aimed missiles and result in total devastation.

SDF considering partnership with Assad to fight off Turkish invasion

With the Kurds coming back into the Syrian Fold, the Russian ability to bridge the Euphrates in 48 hours or less under fire demonstrated in 2017, SAM systems deployed near the Euphrates US troop deployment in eastern Syria will become untenable.

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (2:35 P.M.) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) might go on an alliance with Syrian President Bashar Assad in order to repel the Turkish military in northern Syria.

“We are considering a partnership with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, with the aim of fighting Turkish forces”, the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Armed Forces, Mazlum Abdi, said.

This comes a few hours after US President Donald Trump announced withdrawal of US forces from northern Syria as Turkish military prepares full invasion.

“Frankly, this makes us disappointed. The decision harms Syrian trust in the United States and the credibility of the United States”, Abdi commented.

China’s ‘New Silk Road’ Vision Revealed

The Xinhua series promises the clearest look so far at China’s vision for its Silk Road Economic Belt as well as the Maritime Silk Road. One of the most intriguing pieces released Thursday was a map showing China’s ambitious visions for the “New Silk Road” and “New Maritime Silk Road.” It’s the clearest vision to date of the scope of China’s Silk Road plan.

According to the map, the land-based “New Silk Road” will begin in Xi’an in central China before stretching west through Lanzhou (Gansu province), Urumqi (Xinjiang), and Khorgas (Xinjiang), which is near the border with Kazakhstan.

Syria - Trump Gives A Green Light For Another Turkish Invasion

Erdogan wants to take a 30 kilometer deep strip including the M4 highway which runs west to east in that area.

But the border area Erdogan marked is quite populated with some 850,000 people living there. Most of them are Kurds.

There is only one solution for them. They will have to call up the Syrian government and ask it to come back into the north east. That would remove the Turkish concerns and would likely prevent further Turkish moves.

Syrian war update: Russia builds bridge across the Euphrates

ALEXANDER MERCOURIS
Editor-in-Chief at The Duran.

The US proxy war against Russia in Syria is not being fought so much as it is being lost
In the complex three cornered fight for Deir Ezzor province in eastern Syria between the Russian backed Syrian army, the US backed Kurdish militia, and ISIS, the Russians and the Syrians have just taken a dramatic step to gain for themselves strategic dominance over the other two.

This takes the form of a bridge built apparently built under fire from ISIS in just two days by Russian engineers across the Euphrates river near the city of Deir Ezzor, which will make possible the sending of armoured units of the Syrian army across the Euphrates river to bring the fight against ISIS and conceivably the Kurdish militia to the territories they occupy on the river’s east bank.

THE US-IRAN SILENT WAR IS TRANSFORMED INTO AN “IRAQ UPRISING”

By Elijah J. Magnier:

The last four days have shown that the ongoing US-Iran war is acutely affecting the whole region. This is now evident in Iraq where more than 105 people have been killed and thousands wounded in the course of demonstrations that engulfed the capital Baghdad and southern Shia cities including Amara, Nasririyeh, Basrah, Najaf and Karbalaa. Similar demonstrations could erupt in Beirut and other Lebanese cities due to the similarity of economic conditions in the two countries. The critical economic situation in the Middle East offers fertile ground for uprisings that lead to general chaos.

David Icke: Who Did 9/11 and Why? Part One of a Two-Part Interview

David Icke’s new book The Trigger really triggers some people…like The Washington Post‘s passive-aggressive book reviewer Ron Charles, who brags, shedding crocodile tears all the while: “I banned a book. Or at least I helped get it banned, which makes Banned Books Week a little awkward for me this year.”

If Icke is such a nut, and The Trigger is just “harebrained word vomit,” why would anyone—least of all a Washington Post book reviewer who pretends to hate censorship—feel the need to have it banned? The likely answer, of course, is that Charles knows or suspects, consciously or unconsciously, that Israel was behind 9/11.(1)

And why wouldn’t he? Even the most naive and cursory observer of 21st century geopolitics can see that Israel was the biggest beneficiary of 9/11, which brainwashed the whole world to hate Israel’s Muslim enemies, and hijacked the American military to attack and/or destroy nations that Israel considered a threat.

A brief, unhappy history of Israeli massacres

It would be nice to think that, as an Israeli officer once put it, “This time we went too far” — that the killings of 17 unarmed protesters in Gaza by Israeli riflers across a security fence on Friday would cause the world to sanction Israel for its conduct. But if you look over Israel’s history, you find that the massacre has been a ready tool in the Israeli war-chest; and Israelis have not been prosecuted for carrying them out. Indeed, a couple of those responsible later became prime minister!

Here, largely from my own memory, is a rapidly-assembled list of massacres, defined by Webster’s as the killing of a “number of usually helpless or unresisting human beings under circumstances of atrocity or cruelty” (and yes, a couple precede the birth of the state).

US-Saudi-Israeli alliance against Iran floundering in crisis: Haaretz

An anti-Iran alliance forged between the leaders of the United States, Israel and Saudi Arabia is faltering as each have become overwhelmed by their own dilemmas, Israel's leading daily Haaretz reports.

“The three leaders who have led the anti-Iran line in recent years were each absorbed in his own domestic crisis this week,” Haaretz wrote on Thursday.

The Israeli paper pointed to the recently intensified impeachment inquiry surrounding US President Donald Trump and pre-indictment hearings threatening the tenure of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during the past week as signs that the two leaders were mired in crisis.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The more the internal bickering continues in the US, Israel, and Saudi Arabia, the less energy can be expended toward any kind of an alliance between the three countries and Israel against Iran.

Trump Administration Reignites War Against Syria

The neocons are not about to give up and admit defeat. Due primarily to Russia, Iran, and Hezbollah, the presence of the Islamic State is now considerably reduced in Syria.

This is, of course, unacceptable for the neocons and Trump’s State Department, so last week Sec. State Pompeo accused Syria once again of using chemical weapons.

There is no evidence this incident occurred. This is the case with all of the supposed chemical attacks in Syria.

From The Guardian, May 22, 2019.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So what is the White House's next step in this flummoxed, fluster-cluck of an accusation?!?

And to all people familiar with how this stuff works out there, who are also Rivero's Rangers; IF this actual attack happened last May, how reasonably long, please, before an incontrovertible verdict to come back as to whether, or whether this was not a use of chemical weapons?!?

So is DC going to decree that all Iranian ships be interdicted in the High Seas, for fear of carrying their oil to some other part of the world?!?

And would such action not be tantamount to a declaration of war against both Syria and Iran?!?

Folks, this is absolute madness, writ large.

Trump and Money Are Shielding Saudi Arabia From Accountability for Khashoggi's Killing

President Trump’s protection of Saudi Arabia is at best a temporary shield. Veterans, peace and human rights groups, and other interest groups have been pushing Congress to block U.S. military support for the kingdom by invoking provisions of the War Powers Resolution and making amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act. Human rights organizations also have pushed beneficiaries of Mohammed bin Salman’s private charity — among them the New York Public Library and the United Nations—to abandon their connection to the foundation, which the crown prince uses as a propaganda platform.

Yet, one year after Khashoggi’s killing, and 4 ½ years into the brutal Saudi-led intervention in Yemen, Congress and the president have yet to hold Saudi Arabia accountable. That cannot be allowed to stand. On the anniversary of Khashoggi’s murder, we owe it to him to stand up to the Saudi lobby and the president, and once and for all punish the Saudi government for what it has done.
