Trump Repairs His Ratings: Syria And The Democrats’ Denunciations Of Dissent

The US military’s cruise missile attack on Syria reveals much. First, it lays waste to the idea and endless moronic bloviating in the US media (chiefly by MSNBC) about the purported Trump/Russia connection. There never was any, beyond Russian oligarchs with equally poor taste as our unctuous President Trump (but with deeper pockets) who buy his properties. Donald Trump tried for three decades to enter Russia’s property markets, as most major US hotel chains successfully did. Unlike them, however, Trump, failed at every turn.

Syrian President Assad: ‘The chemical attack was fabricated, 100 percent fake’

President al-Assad suggests that perhaps crisis actors were used to set him up and justify a military response.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said that the chemical attack which took place on April 4 did not come from the hands of the Syrian government and was likely a “fabrication” used to justify the U.S. military’s response.

Ann Coulter: Lassie Come Home

War is like crack for presidents. It confers instant gravitas, catapulting them to respectability, bypassing all station stops. They get to make macho pronouncements on a topic where every utterance is seen as august.

On the other hand, Trump’s Syrian misadventure is immoral, violates every promise he ran on and could sink his presidency.

Left to his own devices, uncontaminated by Washington group-think, Trump gets it right.

Back in 2013, when President Obama was being egged on to attack Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in response to an alleged chemical weapons attack far more sweeping than this latest one, Trump tweeted:

— Aug. 29, 2013:

“What will we get for bombing Syria besides more debt and a possible long term conflict? Obama needs Congressional approval.”

— Aug. 31, 2013:

“Be prepared, there is a small chance that our horrendous leadership could unknowingly lead us into World War III.”

Flashpoint in Syria Risks US War on Russia

Washington wants confrontation, not constructive dialogue with Russia. It continues adversarial relations over cooperative ones - Trump no different from his predecessors, a warrior, not a peacemaker.

Neocons controlling US geopolitical policies want endless wars, not peace, risking unthinkable nuclear war.

If reckless US policies aren’t curbed, it seems inevitable. Dangerous flashpoints persist in Ukraine, North Korea and Syria - Russia, China and Iran on America’s target list.

On Tuesday, Secretary of State Tillerson met with Sergey Lavrov and Vladimir Putin, his demand for Russia to abandon Assad rebuffed.

Deplorable bilateral relations persist, Trump worsening what he promised to improve. Commenting, Lavrov said “the current state in our relations regarding the global agenda is not calm, to say the least.”

Assad Says Videos of Dead Children in Syria Chemical Attack Were Faked

Syria’s president intensified on Thursday a propaganda counterattack against Western accusations that he had ordered a lethal chemical weapons bombing last week on civilians, asserting that videos of victims, including dead and convulsing children, had been faked.

In his first interview since the April 4 attack on the northern town of Khan Sheikhoun that killed more than 80 people, sickened hundreds and outraged the world, President Bashar al-Assad of Syria not only doubled down on the government’s denials of responsibility, but contended without evidence that the episode had been staged as a pretext for an American retaliatory missile strike.

Tears of a Clown Over Syrian Deaths

Boris Johnson, Britain's foreign secretary, likes to clown around, even by his own admission. So much so, it seems, that when news emerged last week of an alleged massacre of children choking from chemical weapons in Syria, Johnson was still up for jolly-good fun.

Take a look at the above picture again. This was taken at a summit in Brussels last week when some 70 nations assembled in the Belgian capital pledging financial aid for war-torn Syria. Britain's top diplomat Boris Johnson was central to the proceedings.

On the very same day, it emerged from Syria that more than 80 people, including dozens of children, were killed in an alleged chemical weapons incident in the town of Khan Shaykhun, Idlib Province. The politicians in Brussels immediately made political capital on the deaths.

‘Israeli airstrikes rain down on Syria' in alleged attack on Hezbollah

Witnesses claim the sky was “full of warplanes” before blasts were heard in the region, according to reports.

Syrian opposition activists initially alleged fighter jets were firing down on Syrian military positions, but have since claimed the attack was on Hezbollah fighters.

There is said to be Hezbollah fighters in the area, but the group’s media wing are yet to issue a statement following the explosions.

Regardless of who they claim they were aiming at, what they actually hit was an ISIS chemical weapons depot (proving once again that ISIS possesses and uses chemical weapons) creating a huge toxic cloud that has killed hundreds.

'Not ONE sensible explanation' Farage scolds US for 'calling for regime change' in Syria

Speaking on Fox News, the MEP said: “I think it’s a real problem in this part of the world trying to pick the good guys from the bad guys because what happens once Assad is gone?

“Because you listen to Secretary of State Tillerson, Boris Johnson from our country and what’s pretty clear is the West is now calling for regime change, they’re calling for Assad to be gone.

“I’ve yet to hear one sensible explanation of who or what is going to replace him.”

The Brexiteer then brought up Britain and America’s role in ousting Saddam Hussein in Iraq and Colonel Gaddafi in Libya.

He said: “There are many people around the President and close to the President who are really being quite explicit in saying they want regime change.

“We did this in Iraq, we did this in Libya, I just wonder what the alternative is.”

US AIRSTRIKE IN SYRIA HAS KILLED MORE CIVILIANS THAN THE SUPPOSED GAS ATTACKS

The Syrian army claimed that an air strike late yesterday by the US-led coalition hit poison gas supplies belonging to ISIS , and released a toxic substance that killed “hundreds including many civilians”.

The incident in the eastern Deir al-Zor province proved that ISIS and al-Qaeda-linked militants “possess chemical weapons”, a statement by the army publicized on Syrian state TV claimed, adding that these weapons had been obtained from “countries in the region which are well known.”

The report could not immediately be independently verified and the US has denied that it attacked any ISIS chemical weapons site.

US Invades Syria to Establish Buffer Zones

The regime of Donald Trump has done the unimaginable and triggered the first steps towards full regional war starting from Syria, and the Friday morning bombing of Ash-Shairat Military Airport was just a the beginning to test waters.

Exclusive: Top Missile and Chemical Weapons Expert Debunks Trump’s Claims About Syrian Chemical Weapons

Postol is a highly-decorated scientist, receiving the Leo Szilard Prize from the American Physical Society, the Hilliard Roderick Prize from the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Richard L. Garwin Award from the Federation of American Scientists.

Postol previously debunked the U.S. government’s claims about a 2013 chemical weapons attack in Syria, causing the New York Times to back away from one of the main arguments for Syrian government culpability.

Postol told Washington’s Blog that a chemical weapon dropped from a plane would have included an explosive on the inside of the tube containing the chemical agent.

But the photograph the U.S. government released to show the weapon which released the chemicals on April 4th shows that the explosive was placed outside of the tube containing the chemical weapon.

Syria's Assad says chemical attack '100 percent fabrication'

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said a suspected chemical weapons attack was a "fabrication" to justify a US military strike, as Moscow digs in to defend its ally despite increasing strains with Washington.

In an exclusive interview with AFP in Damascus -- his first since the alleged April 4 attack prompted a US air strike on Syrian forces -- Assad said his army had given up all its chemical weapons and that Syrian military power was not affected by the US strike.

"Definitely, 100 percent for us, it's fabrication," he said in the interview on Wednesday in reference to the alleged chemical weapons attack.

Assad says chemical attack in Syria was '100% fabricated'

Speaking in his first interview since the incident, Mr Assad said he gave "no order to make any attack" and claimed "even if we had (chemical weapons) we wouldn't use them."

The Syrian leader said it was unclear who carried out the attack in the rebel-held town of Khan Sheikhoun on 4 April, which killed more than 80 people.

He added that videos showing children dying from the attack were "propaganda" designed to prompt the retaliatory US missile strike two days later.

Mr Assad told AFP TV: "It's not clear whether it happened or not, how can you verify a video? There are a lot of fake videos now.

"We don't know whether those dead children were killed in Khan Sheikhoun. Were they dead at all?"

"Our impression is that the West, mainly the United States, is hand-in-glove with the terrorists."

In a statement on Thursday, the General Command said aircrafts of the international coalition carried out between 17:30 and 17:50 pm on Wednesday an air strike against a position of ISIS terrorists that includes a large number of foreign mercenaries in the village of Hatla to the east of Deir Ezzor, causing a white cloud that soon turned into yellow as a result of the explosion of a huge depot that includes a large amount of toxic materials.

Award-winning Iran-Contra journalist Robert Parry says the chemical weapons attack in Syria was launched from a joint Saudi-Israeli special operations base in Jordan, according to his intelligence sources.

Scott Adams: The North Korea Reframe

Prior U.S. presidents framed the North Korean nuclear program as a problem between the United States and North Korea, with China as an unhelpful third party with its own interests. That framing was weak and useless. North Korea did whatever it wanted to do.

President Trump recently changed the frame. Now it’s not so much a problem between the United States and North Korea as it is a branding battle between China and the U.S., with North Korea being the less-important part of the equation. President Trump has said clearly and repeatedly that if China doesn’t fix the problem in its own backyard, the USA will step in to do what China couldn’t get done.

See the power in that framing? China doesn’t want a weak “brand.”

White House claims on Syria chemical attack ‘obviously false’ – MIT professor

A professor who challenged the 2013 claims of a chemical attack in Syria is now questioning the Trump administration’s narrative blaming the Assad government for the April 4 attack in the Idlib province town of Khan Shaykhun.

On Tuesday, the White House released a declassified intelligence brief accusing Syrian President Bashar Assad of ordering and organizing the attack, in which Syrian planes allegedly dropped chemical ordnance on civilians in the rebel-held town.

The report “contains absolutely no evidence that this attack was the result of a munition being dropped from an aircraft,” wrote Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Professor Theodore Postol, who reviewed it and put together a 14-page assessment, which he provided to RT on Wednesday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Tillerson is frozen out in Moscow: Two hours of talks with Putin end with nothing to show as Kremlin refuses to admit Assad gassed his own people - then lecture him on Iraq and Libya

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is leaving Moscow empty-handed following two hours of frosty talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Putin met with Tillerson on Wednesday after yo-yoing the American diplomat around for days.

The talk came hours after the Kremlin's foreign minister accused the US of launching an 'unlawful attack' on Syria that was 'extremely worrying' as talks with Tillerson got off to a frosty start.

Putin separately said that trust between the two countries had eroded since last week's air assault, casting a cloud over Washington's ambitions to coordinate militarily with Russia in Iraq to defeat ISIS. It had also hoped to entice Russia into dropping out of its alliance with Syria.

"If the intention was to intimidate China over North Korea's nuclear sabre-rattling, then Beijing will likely raise the stakes by providing an additional economic lifeline to Pyongyang," the Malaysian analyst suggested."

Tulsi Gabbard: ‘We Need to Learn from Iraq and Libya’ Before Intervening in Syria

On Tuesday, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) wrote an email to The Hill, pushing back against criticism of her criticism of President Donald Trump’s missile strike in Syria.
The Hill chopped the headline down to “We Need to Learn From Iraq,” even though what Gabbard actually said was, “We need to learn from Iraq and Libya,” questioning not only President George W. Bush’s policy in Iraq but the Obama administration’s intervention in Syria.

The main thrust of Gabbard’s email to The Hill is an argument against military intervention. She evidently used the email to lay it out in a clean and simple fashion.

“We need to learn from Iraq and Libya – wars that were propagated as necessary to relieve human suffering, but actually increased human suffering many times over,” she wrote.

Syria air strikes: Russia sends more warships to Assad-controlled port of Tartus

In the wake of the US air strike on a Syrian airbase last week Moscow is sending more ships to Syrian regime controlled waters, a US defence official has said.

Two Steregushchiy-class corvettes, an ocean tug and a fleet oiler left Kaliningrad over the weekend, the unnamed official confirmed to USNI News on Monday.

The Baltic Navy vessels are expected to arrive in the eastern Mediterranean in the next five days and will probably be based in Tartus, which is home to a Russian naval base.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That means that these ships will arrive in Syrian waters by Monday of next week.

But looking at what the US military did in Syria last week, how can one complain at Russia's beefing up Syria's defenses in this way?!?

I am looking at the news conference, in Moscow, between Russia's Sergei Lavrov and Rex Tillerson, and the body language tells me that absolutely nothing has been resolved here.

US Officials Can’t Explain Reason for Syria ‘Chemical Attack’

While it wouldn’t be unusual for Syria to bomb targets belonging to al-Qaeda’s Nusra Front in the Idlib Province with airstrikes, a big hole in the US-backed allegations of a “chemical weapons attack” by the Syrian military is that there was no reason for such a strike.

Administration officials are trying to manufacture one, with an unnamed “senior official” today delivering a briefing to the media claiming that the Syrian military was afraid of a rebel offensive in the Hama Province, and launched the attack against the rebels’ rear support areas for operational purposes.

This new narrative, that the strike was done for operational reasons,, seemingly contradicts previous claims that Syria attacked civilians with chemical weapons for no reason at all, and when pressed by reporters, the US official was clearly shaken, insisting the attacks were for operational purposes, but not against militarily significant targets, which of course wouldn’t make sense.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If at first you don't succeed, lie, lie again!

Clearly the government understands that the people of the United States and the world are no longer the trusting gullible fools of the 1950s. They lied, we know they lied, they know we know they lied ..... so they try yet another lie.

Syrian Rebels Caught in ‘False-Flag’ Kidnapping

In August 2013, when the U.S. government almost went to war in Syria over a Sarin attack, suspicions that it was a rebel “false-flag” were ridiculed. But new disclosures about a rebel role in kidnapping NBC’s Richard Engel several months earlier show the rebels knew such propaganda tricks, says Robert Parry.

Five Top Papers Run 18 Opinion Pieces Praising Syria Strikes–Zero Are Critical

Five major US newspapers—the New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today, Wall Street Journal and New York Daily News—offered no opinion space to anyone opposed to Donald Trump’s Thursday night airstrikes. By contrast, the five papers ran a total of 18 op-eds, columns or “news analysis” articles (dressed-up opinion pieces) that either praised the strikes or criticized them for not being harsh enough:

Webmaster's Commentary:

These presstitute media operations are still trying the sell the US public a war against Syria, while thinking people in this country understand that a war against Syria will most probably mean war between the US and Russia.

Their MO is nothing if not consistent; swallow the official US government agenda, then regurgitate it all over the air waves.

In fact, we could almost label this process as "info-bolemia"; the swallowing and vomiting of an official US government story line to support its agenda.

Trump: Putin Backing 'Truly An Evil Person' In Assad

During an interview with Maria Bartiromo released Tuesday on Fox News, President Trump said Syrian president Bashar al-Assad "is truly an evil person."

Yesterday, Sean Spicer compared Assad to Hitler and said Hitler "didn't even sink to using chemical weapons," which triggered a huge sh*t storm. Of course, the outrage was not over Spicer ridiculously comparing Assad to Hitler for propaganda purposes, but rather the notion he was "denying Hitler gassed millions of Jews to death."

Blitzkrieg: When Air Defense Means Aggression

I March, 2017, Israel launched a series of air assaults on Syria. One attack near the ancient city of Palmyra brought about a series of events we will deal with today. The implications for modern warfare not only change the rules as we know them but expose hypocrisy at the heart of NATO policy.

This Israeli attack which may have brought about the downing of an IAF F15E aircraft by Syrian air defense missiles was allegedly intended, according to Israel, to stop Hezbollah from transferring advanced weapons to Lebanon. Those weapons would be used to resist an expected Israeli assault on that nation or to be used to retaliate against expected Israeli bombing of Beirut residential neighborhoods as seen during the 2006 war.

One issue, of course, is that there were no Hezbollah units within more than a hundred miles of Palmyra, instead Israel was, as has been the case over and over, flying air support for ISIS fighters under attack by the Syrian Army and its Russian allies.

Pseudo-Left Endorses Imperialist Onslaught Against Syria

Nearly 16 years after the beginning of the “war on terror” and more than a quarter-century after the first Gulf War in 1991, the unending imperialist war drive is entering a new and more dangerous stage. In the aftermath of the Trump administration’s air strikes against Syria, the US media and political establishment, parroting the official propaganda line used to justify the attacks, is demanding even more aggressive action against Syria and Russia. There is the very real danger of a direct military conflict between the US and nuclear-armed Russia, with incalculable consequences.

UN Security Council to vote on West's draft Syria resolution Wednesday

The resolution is a slightly revised version of previous similar document, which condemns the use of chemical weapons in Syria. The document also demands that Damascus hand over all information on flights on the day of the incident to the Joint Investigative Mechanism of the UN and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and provide access to the military bases from which strikes against Khan Sheikhoun could be carried out. The resolution also threatens Syria with sanctions and the use of military force under Chapter VII of the UN Charter.

Last week, Russia described the document as "inadmissible" and prepared its own resolution, which envisages a full-scale investigation on the ground by UN and OPCW experts.

Assad not ‘mad enough’ to carry out chemical attack – George Galloway

“Syrian President Assad is no doubt bad enough to do anything at all to save his regime including the use of any and all weapons,” Galloway writes.

“But he’s not mad enough to launch militarily insignificant chemical weapons attacks on an already beaten enemy and, hey presto, bring America directly into the war against him.

“Anyone who says otherwise is either a fool or is trying to fool you,” Galloway warned.

Galloway urged readers to ask who would gain from such an attack.

“One only has to ask two questions. Why? And who benefits? That there is no conceivable advantage to the Syrian regime is obvious. That there is every conceivable advantage for the ISIS/Al-Qaeda-led rebels is equally obvious,” he said.

“A war which was all but won is now in question again. If the Saudi-inspired fanatics didn’t so disapprove of dancing well, they’d be dancing Gay Gordons and Strathspeys Reels [Scottish dances] in the roads of Raqqa.”

Americans Need To Know Trump’s Endgame For Syria, Duckworth Tells Constituents

Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) challenged President Donald Trump to state his administration’s “endgame” for military involvement in Syria following the U.S. military’s missile strike on a Syrian air field last week.

Speaking to a full house of constituents at a town hall in the Chicago suburb of Palatine on Tuesday night, Duckworth was asked what was accomplished with the first direct assault on the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad and what the long-term strategy would be.

Duckworth said that she wants to know, too ? and that Trump needs to provide those answers quickly.

“The Trump administration needs to come forward and [state] its goal. Come forward and tell us the truth,” Duckworth responded.

Following the town hall, constituents like Lisa Goranson, 58, and Sue Walton, 80, were troubled by Trump’s sudden shift on involvement in Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I whole-heartedly agree with Senator Duckworth on this issue.

What we have seen, coming from the White House on this issue, appears to have been complete and utter confusion, consummated by the illegal strike against a Syrian military base last week, against a sovereign country with which the US government is not (allegedly) at war.

President Trump's policies in Syria appear about as clear as mud right now.

I would like President Trump to tell me how, if in fact, regime change in Damascus is his goal, he is going to accomplish this without using either US boots on the ground, or a decap strike against al Assad, which most probably would mean war with Russia.

There are only two things I know for certain here; Al-Assad is not going to leave his position as the country's President willingly, and should the US go ahead with some kind of assassination strike, Russia will respond militarily.

Is Trump Enlisting in the War Party?

By firing off five dozen Tomahawk missiles at a military airfield, our “America First” president may have plunged us into another Middle East war that his countrymen do not want to fight.

Thus far Bashar Assad seems unintimidated. Brushing off the strikes, he has defiantly gone back to bombing the rebels from the same Shayrat air base that the U.S. missiles hit.

Trump “will not stop here,” warned U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley on Sunday. “If he needs to do more, he will.”

If Trump fails to back up Haley’s threat, the hawks now cheering him on will begin deriding him as “Donald Obama.”

But if he throbs to the war drums of John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Marco Rubio and orders Syria’s air force destroyed, we could be at war not only with ISIS and al-Qaida, but with Syria, Russia, Iran and Hezbollah.

A Syrian war would consume Trump’s presidency.

WHITE HELMETS HANDLE DEADLY TOXIC “SARIN GAS” WHILE LIGHTING UP CIGARETTES (VIDEO)

The Duran recently posted a bombshell study from the Swedish NGO Doctors for Human Rights (SWEDHR), that shows how the White Helmets murder babies, not save babies like Netflix and George Clooney would have you believe.

Now we can see the White Helmets pretend to handle deadly toxic sarin gas, which we are sure will sent to John McCain Labs Inc., where Assad and Russia will be found guilty of launching a chemical strike on “beautiful babies”.

We wonder, upon watching forensics experts/chemical weapons investigators/freedom fighters/medical doctors/first responders, the White Helmets, why some guys have masks, others do not.

Why some guys have gloves, others do not.

Some White Helmets jihadists are even hanging around the sarin gas lighting up a smoke.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So much for that documentary about them which won an Oscar this year. As reported by Rick Sterling at consortiumnews.com:

The Netflix movie “The White Helmets” may win an Oscar in the “short documentary” category at the Academy Awards on Sunday. It would not be a surprise despite the fact that the group is a fraud and the movie is a contrived infomercial. The “White Helmets” symbol, expropriating the name of “Syria Civil Defense.” Awarding “The White Helmets” an Oscar would fit with the desire of Hollywood to appear supportive of “human rights,” even if that means supporting a propaganda operation to justify another bloody “regime change” war in the Middle East. Much of what people think they know about the White Helmets is untrue. The group is not primarily Syrian; it was initiated by British military contractor James LeMesurier and has been heavily funded (about $100 million) by the U.S., U.K. and other governments. The White Helmets are not volunteers; they are paid, which is confirmed in a Al Jazeera video that shows some White Helmet “volunteers” talking about going on strike if they don’t get paid soon.

Remember what happened to James Cameron's film "Avatar",which was one of the most brilliant anti-war movies ever made?!?

When it was considered for the Oscar, the Oscar went instead to "Hurt Locker", which praised war and combat as the utterly right thing for Americans to be doing.

Hollywood, as an institution, is, and has always been, a "war whore", and always obeys its marching orders to glorify anything that supports the US government's "divine right" to conduct wars any time, any where, and for any reason it sees fit, and never question the rationale for fighting those wars.

DECLASSIFIED CIA DOC REVEALS PLAN TO DESTROY SYRIA FOR OIL PIPELINE, PREDICTS CURRENT CRISIS

Geostrategically-crucial Syria has been at the center of a decades-long plot by the United States to depose the sovereign government and install one supportive of goals in the Middle East must be revisited — and quickly — before the beating of war drums drowns out the truth of our government’s recently-espoused mission.

President Donald Trump has repeatedly castigated President Bashar al-Assad for ordering a gruesome mass killing of civilians with chemical weapons in Khan Sheikhoun. This accusation, unsubstantiated due to lack of investigation, sparked a bolstering of support for the Syrian regime from both Moscow and Tehran.

Were the account of an ordered chemical weapons attack to prove unassailably true — and Assad isn’t exactly known for being a gentle despot — Trump could have handily earned a congressional green light and perhaps approval from NATO to obliterate Syrian Arab Army forces responsible. Perhaps.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive my cynicism, but it appears that, for this President, some dead children (those killed by the gassing in Syria, the bodies of whom could be used for propaganda purposes) are "more equal" than other dead children ( those killed and maimed in Yemen from US-enabled Saudi bombing runs; those dying of malnutrition in Yemen, due to the US-enabled Saudi port blockade) and those dying of exposure to depleted uranium in the womb, used by Saudi Arabian troops, and being born with massive birth defects.

That the US government is massively complicit in Saudi war crimes in Yemen, while President Trump screams about gassed children in Syria, makes the hypocrisy ring all the more hollow, to the ears of thinking people all over this planet.

THE SILVER LINING OF TRUMP’S OWNERSHIP OF REGIME CHANGE POLICY IN SYRIA

On a positive note, it has been a good development that the Trump administration has owned the “regime change” policy of the Obama administration in Syria by launching cruise missiles strike against the Syrian air force in al-Shayrat air base. Because over the decades, it has been a convenient stratagem of the Western powers with two-party political systems, particularly the US, to evade responsibility for the death and destruction brought on the hapless Middle Eastern countries by their predecessors after the elections.

I will try to do this today with the hope to be able to shed some light on a rather bizarre attack which will nevertheless have profound consequences. But first, let’s begin by looking at what actually happened.

However, since the Russians were warned about the attack they had plenty of time to prepare their electronic warfare stations to “fry” and otherwise disable at least part of the cruise missiles. I do believe that this is the correct explanation.

President Trump, with respect, start ruthlessly purging the U.S. general officer corps

Last time we discussed your refusal to abide by the Constitution’s hard-and-fast war-making provision, a decision that merits — as it did for most of your post-1945 predecessors — impeachment proceedings. Waging war in the manner you did in Syria is the work of an absolute monarch or a dictator, not that of a popularly elected president of this republic.

Today, we must discuss a topic that has been covered in this space on multiple occasions; namely, the need for you to immediately purge — via forced retirement — scores of your general officers. The American fetish for treating these officers as god-like wonders is baseless, and must be curtailed to the greatest possible extent. Among the most obvious reasons they merit forced retirement are:

–They and their predecessors have not won a war since 1945. In truth, they have won nothing in the most war-filled 72 years in American history.

There's a terrifying sense of deja vu as the Generals take over the White House and guide us towards another war (despite no-one knowing if it was Assad who used sarin on those civilians) says JOHN R BRADLEY

For those of us who covered the build-up to the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003, there is a terrifying sense of deja vu as another 'Coalition of the Willing' gears up to launch a potentially devastating wave of shock-and-awe in the Middle East.

That is certainly one worst-case interpretation of the comments made yesterday by the US ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley.
Confirming a remarkable U-turn in the Trump administration's stance on Syria, she said that removing President Bashar al-Assad was now a 'priority'.

Fourteen years ago we heard similar shrill calls from political leaders for regime change in Iraq, a country that – whether or not it used chemical weapons on its own people – posed no discernible threat to the national security of our own.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The fact that the US will most probably be going to war with Russia over Syria, which didn't happen in the Iraq war, is, as Josh Gates, host of the "Destination Unknown" series frequently states, officially horrible.

The spectre of the US military going to war against the Russian military, which:

1. Does conscript
2. Has better functioning weapons than does the US military
3. Has the money to pursue such a war
4. Has the manufacturing to feed the war machine

should be pretty terrifying to anyone with family and friends in the military.

Tillerson Warns Russia: Assad Rule ‘Coming to an End’

On the eve of his visit to Moscow, and in the wake of a Kremlin announcement he won’t be meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at all, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson continued to lash Russia publicly for backing the Syrian government, insisting that President Bashar Assad’s rule is “coming to an end.”

Whether thus amounts to a statement of US policy is unclear, as US officials have been send very mixed messages on their stance on Syria, after attacking them last week. Tillerson himself insisted just days ago that Assad’s future was still up to the Syrians, despite having announced before that that the US was in the process of implementing regime change.

Tillerson went on to predict that if Russia refused US demands to abandon Assad, they would effectively become “irrelevant” in the Middle East. This echoes other US officials’ demands that Russia unconditionally abandon Assad, amid ongoing allegations of Russian complicity in a putative gas attack.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I frankly think these threats to Russia are for domestic, rather than Russian, consumption.

Russia is highly unlikely to unwind its position of total support for the Al Assad regime; Tillerson understands that.

But these threats/statements seem to me to be" engineered" to "groom" the US public into accepting a war against both Syria and Russia.

The harsh reality that such a move would be one of the most ham-fistedly pig-headedly stupid thing for the US government to do, and appears to be an act of desperation on the cusp of madness, in a futile attempt to keep the US economy from crashing into the death spasms it can most probably not avoid, given the current "bubbles" in the system which cannot exist for very much longer.

and BTW, look for the draft to be reinstituted, under President Trump's watch.

Putin to Snub Tillerson as Tensions Spike

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s visit to Moscow was shaping up to be an ugly one, tasked with dealing with Russian President Vladimir Putin after last week’s US attack on Syria. US-Russia tensions appear to be getting worse so much faster, however, that it has killed the talks entirely.

Kremlin officials now say that Putin has no intention of meeting with Tillerson at all during his visit, and that the only Russian official Tillerson is going to be meeting with is Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Kremlin officials have downplayed the seriousness of this move, insisting a Putin-Tillerson meeting was never officially scheduled in the first place. That’s technically true, but as Tillerson had met Putin in the past, it seemed a foregone conclusion that one would take place.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Given last week's US military's bombing of the military base in a sovereign country with which the US is not at war, I can understand Putin's reluctance to hold a meeting with Tillerson.

In fact, given the circumstances, I am more than a little astonished that Medvedev would even receive him.

Unfortunately, however, I see this crisis resolving in only one way; a US attack against Syria, which would definitely mean war with Russia.

Vladimir Putin says US is preparing to bomb Syrian capital and will blame devastation on Bashar-al Assad's forces

The Russian leader made the astonishing claim during a press conference with the Italian President Sergio Mattarella

Putin insisted Russia would tolerate Western criticism of its role in Syria but hoped that attitudes would eventually soften.

But his claims that Russia has information strikes are being planned by the US on the southern Damascus region - the aim of which is to blame the resulting devastation on the subsequently discredited Syrian government - will not go down well in the White House.

When asked whether he expected more US missile strikes on Syria, Putin said: "We have information that a similar provocation is being prepared ... in other parts of Syria including in the southern Damascus suburbs where they are planning to again plant some substance and accuse the Syrian authorities of using (chemical weapons)."

He did not offer any proof for that claim however.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF Putin's accusations ultimately prove true, I would hardly be surprised.

Damascus is one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world, and one of the cradles of early Middle Eastern Christianity.

I am completely distraught at the coming destruction it may have to endure, just so that the US government can get its "war on" here.

Unfortunately, just because a tactic is one of the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing for the US government to do, is no guarantee that it won't do it.

A war with Russia over Syria is one of those things.

And with US Presidential advisor Mc Masters cheerleading for a ground war in Syria, (even though President Trump appears to be pushing back on this, at least for the moment), I am very concerned that such a thing might, in fact, happen.

White House: ‘America First’ Foreign Policy Justifies Strikes Against Those Who ‘Gas Babies’

The White House on Monday insisted that President Donald Trump is still pursuing an “America first” foreign policy after ordering missile strikes on a Syrian airfield where the U.S. believes a chemical weapons attack against civilians originated.

White House spokesman Sean Spicer told reporters the launch of 59 Tomahawk missiles on Thursday night was a necessary measure to protect Americans.

“I think if you recognize the threat that our country and our people face if there is a growth of use or spread of chemical weapons of mass destruction,” Spicer said, “[then] the proliferation of those, the spread to other groups, is a clear danger to our country and to our people.”

Spicer’s definition of a national security threat is broader than Trump outlined during his presidential campaign. Trump frequently extolled non-interventionist foreign policy, and a belief that Syria should be left alone to resolve its six-year civil war.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. Spicer, a word, please.

As I type this, the US is thoroughly, and disgustingly, complicit in the war crimes Saudi Arabia is perpetrating on the people of Yemen, under President Trump's watch.

The Saudis have been killing and maiming Yemen's children.

Images: killed and wounded Yemeni children from Saudi bombing raids

Yemeni children are dying from the slow, painful deaths of malnutrition, courtesy to the Saudis having blockaded the Yemeni ports.

Images: Yemeni children dying from malnutrition, due to Saudi port blockades

There has been a massive uptick in birth defects, Cancers, and still births in Yemen, courtesy of the Saudi's use of depleted uranium weapons.

Saudi military are using depleted uranium weapons, which has caused a massive spike in cancers, birth defects, and stillbirths in Yemen

Mr. Spicer, I have a very specific question to ask you; in the eyes of President Trump, is some suffering (which can be cynically used to support a geopolitical agenda) "more equal" than other suffering (which President Trump doesn't want the American people to know about), like the continued suffering of Yemeni children due to Saudi assassinations of them; the starvation of kids through the slow, painful death from malnutrition; and the massive birth defects in Yemeni children, due to radiation poisoning in the womb?!?

Because sir, that is precisely what I am seeing here.

Monitor says Syria drops barrel bombs despite U.S. warning; Syria denies

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Syrian government warplanes dropped barrel bombs on rebel-held areas of Hama province on Tuesday, a day after the United States said their use could lead to further U.S. strikes in Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights is a western propaganda operation run out of a one-bedroom home in Coventry, England by a man who has not actually been in Syria for 12 years.

Syrian Army Reportedly Drops Barrel Bombs Hours After U.S. Warned It Not To

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Syrian government warplanes dropped barrel bombs on rebel-held areas of Hama province on Tuesday, a day after the United States said their use could lead to further U.S. strikes in Syria.

A Syrian military source denied the Observatory report and said the army did not use barrel bombs - drums or cylinders packed with explosives and shrapnel that cause indiscriminate destruction on the ground.

The United States fired cruise missiles at a Syrian air base last week in response to a poison gas attack on a town in northwestern Syria which Washington says was carried out by government forces. The government denies responsibility.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights ( a front for western intelligence, run out of the UK) makes such a claim, given its lousy track record, that claim is most probably false.

Unfortunately, the way Trump's advisors have be editing and doctoring the intel he gets, the falseness of such a claim will be no obstacle to to President Trump's bombing Syria again, which can nearly only mean one thing; war with Russia.

THE US IS PUSHING TO ‘NON-PEACEFUL’ SOLUTION OF THE SYRIAN CONFLICT

Last week, the US Navy launched Tomahawk cruise missiles at the Ash Sha’irat military airfield operated by the Syrian Air Force near the city of Homs. The launch followed a large-scale media campaign aimed at blaming the Assad government for an alleged chemical attack in Khan Sheikhoun. The move was described by the mainstream media as a justified response to criminal actions of the Assad regime. US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said that “steps are underway” on an international coalition to pressure the Syrian president from power. It is worth noting that no investigation was made by the US-led block to confirm these accusations. Despite this, a number of countries, including the UK, Israel, Turkey and Saudi Arabia expressed their full support to the US military actions.

IS THERE A NEW U.S. SYRIA POLICY? IS THERE ONE AT ALL?

What does the U.S. administration want with regards to Syria?

The elements were clear just a few days ago. The U.S. would split off the east and set up a Kurdish enclave which it would then occupy with the help of proxy forces. It would use the leverage to push for political regime change in western Syria. Israel would occupy another piece of the Golan.

While that looked somewhat favorable for the U.S. in the short term it was bad long term strategy. U.S. forces in the east would be surrounded by hostiles, cut off from the sea and under permanent guerilla attack from various opposing forces. But it looked at least like a somewhat viable short term way way forward.

The new strategy, which may not be one at all, and the new U.S. commitment is all over the place:

DONALD TRUMP IS AN INTERNATIONAL LAW BREAKER

Donald Trump’s decision to launch cruise missile strikes on a Syrian Air Force Base was based on a lie. In the coming days the American people will learn that the Intelligence Community knew that Syria did not drop a military chemical weapon on innocent civilians in Idlib. Here is what happened:

NATO Country conducted a Syria-related raid and captured enough Sarin Gas to kill 200,000 people, [ NOTE: this is not a rumor of sarin gas, this is the actual stuff ] also 12 people in possession of the gas were captured.

This happened a while ago, but is so unknown yet documented down to the smallest detail.
A trial was held, evidence displayed, and the perpetrator was convicted.
But the perpetrators were Western backed 'moderate' rebels and subsequently set free.

Here they are being caught in Turkey with the gas in hand:

And here is what the plan for the near future may be?:

Syria: Trump May Just have Started World War III

It reeks all over of False Flag – Gladio 2 – level ‘world’. But nobody smells it, nobody wants to see it, nobody wants to hear it – and especially, nobody wants to talk about it. The truth cannot be spoken. The attack has to be launched immediately, before any investigation could reveal the truth. That’s the way it’s always been. Kill the witnesses. That’s what Washington and its Zionist masters know best.

1983 CIA Document Reveals Plan To Destroy Syria, Foreshadows Current Crisis

Prophetically foreshadowing the current crisis (and apparent action plan), leaked CIA documents from the reign of Bashar al-Assad's father in the 1980s show a Washington Deep State plan coalescing to "bring real muscle to bear against Syria," toppling its leader (in favor of one amenable to US demands) , severing ties with Russia (its primary arms dealer), and paving the way for an oil and gas pipeline of Washington's choosing.

Pieczenik Explodes: Issues Warning To Trump, Mattis AND McMaster About Going To War In Syria

America's foremost expert in international affairs, having served under 5 Presidents, instrumental in the Camp David accords, in addition to playing a key role in regime changes around the globe for decades, Dr. Steve Pieczenik exploded with rage on the Alex Jones show yesterday -- warning Trump and his team that war crimes would follow if they pursued a neocon agenda of war in Syria, which the American people do not want.

"This is a warning to our generals, Mcmaster, and others, who think they can do a regime change in Syria. Number one, that will not be possible, not with the military, not with all the forces you have and not with the quality of the soldiers you have, the generals. Any notion of a regime change through force is both absurd or criminal. The issue of Syria and Assad have no national security interests to us at all. This will be an incredible dereliction of duty if we go to war in Syria."

G7 has no consensus on sanctions against Russia over Syria

G7 has not come to a consensus on using sanctions against Russia as an instrument for achievement of goals, Italy’s Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano told a press conference on Tuesday after the meeting of G7 Foreign Ministers.

"We don’t have a consensus on how to use sanctions as an instrument for achievement of goals. Italy has always stressed that sanctions could not be an ultimate goal. That is why we are against their automatic extension," Alfano said.

He admitted that there are other approaches as well, for example the one proposed by the UK.

"But we came to conclusion that we should not force Russia into corner," the minister added.
