Syria: Rebels evacuate last opposition-held enclave

A massive convoy of buses carrying thousands of opposition fighters and their families from the besieged city of Homs arrived in Syria's northern rebel-held district of al-Bad.

Sixty-six buses carrying 3,194 people arrived on Tuesday a day after leaving the town of Rastan, located roughly halfway between Homs and Hama, media reports said.

The evacuation was a part of an agreement reached between several major Free Syrian Army factions and Russia, under which the opposition agreed to surrender medium to heavy military hardware in exchange for safe passage to Idlib province and Jarablus city in northern Syria.

Syria's official SANA news agency announced earlier on Tuesday that rebels handed over most of their heavy weapons, including six tanks and three armoured personnel carriers.

U.S., France Setting The Stage For Another False Flag Chem Attack In Syria To Justify More Bombing

By Brandon Turbeville

As Israel sets the stage for a possible attack on Iranian forces inside Syria under the false pretext of “pre-emptive” self-defense against Iranian missiles, it appears that the United States and France are attempting to set a stage of their own. This stage, however, will be the same tired scene replayed repeatedly throughout the Syrian crisis – i.e. the alleged deployment of chemical weapons that will be blamed on the Syrian government in order to justify more airstrikes and missiles against the Syrian government and in defense of terrorist elements backed by the United States, Britain, and France...

BREAKING: 'SHOTS in Syria' as pro-Assad forces launch flares amid fear of second STRIKE

There are also unconfirmed reports of Israeli fighter jets flying over Jordan airspace amid fears there could be further strikes.

Syrian analyst Danny Makki said: “Still an expectancy that Israel may carry out further strikes on Syria this evening, strong air activity still in the area.”

It comes after an airstrike against Iranian targets following Donald Trump’s announcement he would withdraw from the Obama Iranian deal.

Sources in the area have said the Iranian-backed Hezbollah has called up reserves in south Lebanon following Israeli strikes.

It is at least the third attack since April 8 from Israel against Iranian assets in Syria.

Heavy Israeli overflights have also been reported.

Syria claims it shot down 2 Israeli missiles near Damascus

Syrian state-run media is reporting an Israeli attack near the capital Damascus, saying Syrian air defenses shot down two missiles. The official news agency SANA says Tuesday night's attack occurred in the countryside in Kisweh, just south of Damascus.

An official with the Iran-led axis of resistance said the strike targeted a Syrian army position and caused only material damage. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to give official statements.

There was no immediate comment from Israel, which almost never confirms or denies airstrikes in Syria.

US officials growing increasingly concerned Iran could attack Israel

There are increasing concerns Iran is on the cusp of an attack against Israel, several US military officials told CNN.

Intelligence is not clear on when an attack could come and what form it would take, they said, with one official noting that "if there is an attack it might not be immediately clear it's Iran."

The US is watching very closely to see if Iranian-backed actions could come from inside Syria or Lebanon, or even from inside Iran itself, though that would be considered a major military escalation.

Israel strikes Syrian army positions, no casualties - State news agency

A Syrian army position in the south of Damascus was under Israeli air strike, SANA state news agency reported. Syrian air defences fired at and destroyed two Israeli missiles in the Kisweh area.

An army commander told the agency that there were no casualties. Israel has not commented yet on the news.

The reports of the attack followed the announcement by Donald Trump that the US is withdrawing from the nuclear deal with Iran and re-imposing sanctions against the country.

French Forces Planning to Evacuate ISIL Terrorists from Deir Ezzur

The French military forces have held talks with the ISIL to pave the ground for their evacuation from Deir Ezzur to Hasaka only a week after the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) allegedly started anti-ISIL operation in Southeastern Deir Ezzur, a news website reported on Tuesday.

The Arabic-language al-Ahd news website reported that the French military troops, deployed in Syria, have held talks with the ISIL to move them from Deir Ezzur to Southeastern Hasaka near the Syria-Iraq border.

Massive Buildup Shows US War on Syria Is Getting Bigger – But There Will Be No Breakthrough

As is now under the Trump regime, the US military is dramatically expanding its operations in Syria, constructing new illegal bases in the war-torn country and doing whatever it can to sell as many weapons as possible to vassals. The new mission creep base marks the latest example of America’s growing and controversial war for regime change in Damascus. The new expansion is one part of what appears to be a massive US military infrastructure development project in other parts of the region as well, including Yemen, that will see new US outposts built this year on the pretext of fighting terror and protecting America’s illicit interests.

The buildup coincides with an aggressive escalation by the Trump White House in their propaganda warfare against Iran as well, including a possible withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal Iran signed with the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany.

Israel Threatens to Topple Assad If Iran Retaliates Over Recent Israeli Strikes

Israeli Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz, a member of the nation’s security cabinet, warned Israel would “topple” Syrian President Bashar Assad if Iran strikes Israeli territory. He said any Iran action would mean Assad’s “end and the end of his regime.”

There has been a flurry of speculation in the Israeli press that Iran would soon retaliate against Israeli territory. Israel has repeatedly attacked Syria in recent months, and has said those strikes are targeting Iranian military facilities. The Israeli assumption is that after so many attacks Iran is bound to try to do something about it.

So now Steinitz has decided he needs to threaten Syria over what Israel thinks Iran might do, based on what Israel has done against Iran inside Syria. Steinitz also claimed that Israel has “not intervened” in the Syrian War at all, despite dozens of Israeli airstrikes against Syrian military targets, and Israeli officials openly saying they prefer ISIS winning the war to Assad surviving.

Israel seeks Russian help in Syria. Will Russia oblige?

After threatening Moscow that if it went ahead with plans to strengthen Syria’s missile defence systems, Israel will destroy them on the ground – be it “S-300 or S-700”, as Israel’s Defence Minister Avigdor Liberman sarcastically put it – Tel Aviv is now seeking Russian help to calm things down. The dramatic turnaround is typical of Israel. Israel thinks it is a smart move, but will it work?

Lieberman now wants Moscow’s intervention to tamp down Israel’s tensions with Iran. Israel has painted itself into a corner. First it began taunting Iran to step up for a fight by firing missiles at locations in Syria where Iranian military advisers (IRGC personnel) could be present. In a strike on April 8, Israel drew blood, killing 7 Iranian personnel. The IRGC was not amused. Tehran vowed that Iranian retaliation is hundred percent certain but at a time, place and manner of its choice.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – MAY 8, 2018: RASTAN POCKET DEAL, KA-52 CRASH

An evacuation of militants and their supporters has started in the Rastan pocket in northern Homs.

On May 7, 62 buses carrying out a batch of militants left the area towards the northern town of Jarabulus currently controlled by Turkey and its proxies. A second batch is set to leave the area on May 8. According to local sources, about 3,000 persons are set to be evacuated.

Prior to the start of the evacuation, local militants handed over 6 battle tanks, 3 BMP vehicles, two Shilka vehicles as well as mortars, anti-tank guided missiles, surface-to-air missiles and other weapons.

The evacuation process is expected to be finished within up to 7 days. Once this is done, government forces will re-establish full control of the Rastan pocket and re-open the strategic Homs-Hama highway.

In southern Damascus, government troops have captured the IT Secondary School and a number of buildings in the western part of the al-Hajar al-Aswad district from ISIS.

Theresa May shouldn’t be ‘believed’ on alleged Syria chemical attack — John Pilger to RT (VIDEO)

Commenting on the recent Anglo-American-French missile strikes against alleged Syrian chemical facilities, Pilger said the offensive was “built on a series of...lies, fabrications,” adding that May’s justifications for participation in the strikes shouldn’t be taken at face value.

ThinkProgress Smears Investigative Journalist for Questioning Douma Gas Attack

Reporter Pearson Sharp, who visited Douma, Syria, about 10 days after a chemical attack allegedly took place there, spoke with Sputnik Radio’s Fault Lines with Garland Nixon and Lee Stranahan on Monday after he was smeared by ThinkProgress.

Pearson said that after the Khan Shaykhun chemical attack that spurred US President Donald Trump to fire almost five dozen Tomahawk missiles at the Shayrat Air Base in Syria in April 2017, he was motivated to find out if it was really true that there was evidence that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad had used chemical weapons to kill Syrian civilian targets in Douma, as London, Washington and France have alleged.

When visiting Douma, Pearson explained that instead of describing what he personally saw, he wanted to put the camera on people in the town instead and let them tell the story. After interviewing dozens of Douma residents, Sharp found that "consistently, not one person in the town said they heard anything about an attack."

Energy Minister and Cabinet member Yuval Steinitz said in a Ynet studio interview Monday that, "If Syrian President Bashar Assad continues allowing the Iranians to operate out of Syria, it would be the end of him, the end of his regime."

On the readiness of Israel's home front for a possible war in the north such an approach might lead to, Steinitz said there was "no absolute readiness."

It was reported Sunday that Iran may soon execute the retaliatory attack that it vowed to carry out in the wake of the airstrike on the T-4 Airbase near Homs, which has been attributed to Israel.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – MAY 7, 2018: SYRIAN ARMY DELIVERS DEVASTATING BLOW TO ISIS IN SOUTHERN DAMASCUS

ISIS’ defense is rapidly collapsing in southern Damascus under a pressure from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies.

Last weekend, government forces liberated the southern part of the al-Hajar al-Aswad district from ISIS terrorists and made a few important gains in the northern part of the district, including a local power station and the nearby points.

By May 7, the SAA and its allies have stormed northern Hajar al-Aswad, the southern part of Taqaddom and the northern part of the Yarmouk refugee camp. Fierce clashes are ongoing.

According to the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq, 10 government fighters were killed and a BMP-1 armoured vehicle of the SAA was destroyed in the clashes on May 4-6. However, this numbers of the SAA casualties can be hardly confirmed by photo or video evidence.

ISIS also executed two SAA members captured during the battle for southern Damascus.

France Backing Down on Its Assad Unconditional Resignation Demands

France does not demand the unconditional ouster of Syrian President Bashar Assad anymore as the country is mainly focused on fight against terrorism in the conflict torn country, French Ambassador to Russia Sylvie Bermann told Kommersant newspaper in an interview released on Sunday.

When asked about French goals in Syria, Bermann said that "first of all, it is fight against terrorism," adding that in this regards France is in solidarity with Russia. The second main problem is the issue of refugees, according to the ambassador.

"It is unacceptable that someone simply managed to win back the territory of the country from militants and Bashar Assad remained in power, as before… We will not decide for the Syrian people, but we are not talking about the demand for unconditional ouster of Bashar Assad," Bermann said.

Netanyahu to meet Putin in Moscow ahead of Iran deal deadline

The Wednesday meeting will discuss "regional developments", Netanyahu's office said, and follows the Israeli leader's unveiling of "proof" of Iran's alleged past military nuclear ambitions.

Putin invited Netanyahu to take part in the annual Victory Day march, which celebrates the defeat of Nazi Germany, Haaretz reported on its website. The two are to meet after the march at the Kremlin.

Out of 26 Major Editorials on Trump’s Syria Strikes, Zero Opposed

A survey by FAIR of the top 100 papers in the US by circulation found not a single editorial board opposed to Trump's April 13 airstrikes on Syria. Twenty supported the strikes, while six were ambiguous as to whether or not the bombing was advisable. The remaining 74 issued no opinion about Trump's latest escalation of the Syrian war ... None of the top 100 newspapers questioned the US's legal or moral right to bomb Syria, and all accepted US government claims to be neutral arbiters of "international law." ... The total lack of editorial board dissent is consistent with major papers' tradition of uniform acceptance of US military action. The most influential paper in the country, the New York Times, has not opposed a single US war ... in the past 30 years.

Russia Admits Su-57s Were In Syria But Claims They Left After Just Two Days

After a week of silence from the Kremlin, Russia’s Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has officially confirmed the country did send two Su-57 stealth fighters to its Khmeimim Air Base in Syria’s western Latakia governorate. But based on his statements, the deployment was even more unusual than we had previously understood, reportedly lasting just two days.

Shoigu shared details about the apparently brief mission with reporters on March 1, 2018 following Russian President Vladimir Putin’s annual state-of-the-nation address, which included major announcements about the country’s strategic deterrent capabilities. Russia’s top defense official said only two of the stealth jets had gone to Syria, denying reports that there might have been up to four in the country, and that they completed a number of evaluations, including an unspecified “combat trial.”

UK drones firing organ-destroying ‘vacuum bombs’ on the rise in Syria - FOI request reveals (VIDEO)

The UK is ‘indiscriminately’ using thermobaric missiles as part of its ongoing air war in Syria, a Freedom of Information (FoI) request has revealed.
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) admitted, for the first time, using thermobaric weapons during strikes carried out by Royal Air Force MQ-9 Reaper drones during missions in January and February, in response to the FoI request by anti-war campaign group Drone Wars UK.

Thermobaric weapons, known colloquially as “vacuum bombs,” differ from conventional munitions - which cause damage by spreading shrapnel - as they create a high-temperature explosion with an extremely powerful blast radius. The pressure created causes severe internal damage to the organs of people caught in the blast radius.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So the British military and government haven't stopped using these bombs; they just redefined them.

More proof positive that the British Prime Minister May and MOD Gavin Williamson, have collectively had their conscience surgically removed.

Israel Wants to Prevent Russian S-300 Supplies to Syria - Ex-Defense Minister

Israel does not want Syria to receive Russia's S-300 surface-to-air missile systems and has channels of cooperation with Moscow to try to prevent such supplies, former Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon told Sputnik.

"If the Russian government asks us whether to supply the S-300 or not, we would like these systems not to fall into the hands of the Syrians. Earlier, when such questions arose, we used the appropriate channels to discuss them with the Russian leadership. Now it also receives signals from our authorities about the undesirability of such supplies," former Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon, who left office in 2016, said in an interview.

Yaalon's successor, Avigdor Lieberman, has repeatedly threatened to destroy the S-300 systems if Damascus uses them against Israeli aircraft that regularly strike targets in the neighboring country.

PENTAGON SEEKS $300 MILLION IN WEAPONS FOR 65,000 US-BACKED FORCES IN SYRIA

While US “relief funds” are frozen in Syria, the Pentagon continues to seek massive amounts of funding for its military operations in the country. This includes a request for $300 million in weapons to give to “partner forces” in Syria.

This amounts to enough arms for 65,000 fighters. This is expected to center on the Syrian Democratic Forces, which is to say, almost entirely the Kurdish YPG. The US has been arming the YPG for years now as part of its Syria operations.

This is being sought in spite of repeated US assurances to Turkey that their arming of the YPG was temporary. With ISIS virtually wiped out in Syria, the YPG no longer has offensive goals fitting into US plans for Syria, and rather is focused chiefly on fighting a Turkish invasion of northern Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US is very obviously preparing to instigate more war in Syria.

Understanding this, one has to wonder; just how will Russia's President Putin respond, if this funding is approved, and when, and how will he act to counter this?!? The man is a master chess player, not only with the game itself, but also with international policy.

Because remember: Russia was invited, by Syria's Al Assad government, to work with its military in getting rid of the western-trained and funded jihadists; the United States ... was not.

Israel & Syria: Plan B is to Balkanize

…Israeli Defence Minister Moshe Yaalon said he was “very pessimistic” about the truce’s prospects.

Referring to some of the warring sects, Yaalon added: “We should realise that we are going to see enclaves?—?‘Alawistan’, ‘Syrian Kurdistan’, ‘Syrian Druzistan’. They might cooperate or fight each other.”

Ram Ben-Barak, director-general of Israel’s Intelligence Ministry, described partition as “the only possible solution”.

MoD accidentally reveals British drones firing thermobaric missiles in Syria

The Ministry of Defence has revealed for the first time – seemingly accidentally – that British drones are firing thermobaric weapons in Syria. The disclosure comes in an Freedom of Information (FoI) response to Drone Wars detailing the use of Reaper drones over the previous three months.

In the response, officials give a breakdown of the type of Hellfire missiles fired, stating that 19 AGM-114N4 and 44 AGM-114R2 had been used. The ‘N’ version of the missile uses a Metal Augmented Charge (MAC) warhead that contains a thermobaric explosive fill using aluminium with the explosive mixture. When the warhead detonates, the aluminium mixture is dispersed and rapidly burns. The sustained high pressure explosion is extremely damaging, creating a powerful shock wave and vacuum. Anyone in the vicinity is likely to die from internal organ damage.

White Helmets legitimacy CRUMBLES after Douma false flag, US ‘freezes funding’ for group

A major victory for the truth in Syria may be on its way, as the legitimacy of the terrorist-linked “White Helmets” finally begins to crumble, and the US Government is revaluating their support and freezing their funding.

The White Helmets are of course the so-called “Syrian” organization which claims to selflessly rescue civilians trapped under fire without bias, however, they have been revealed to be a soft-power support of terrorist factions. The secret goal of the White Helmets has always been to create a friendly front for terrorists, in order to gain the support of foreign powers, and to stage false flags in order to trigger western action against the Syrian government.

BREAKING NEWS: Israel Tells Russia to "Stand Down" Syria air defenses ---- or they will be ATTACKED

Russian Su30 aircraft crashed into the sea near Khmeimim airbase, Syria today, 2 pilots killed.

Iranian Assets in Syria "nervous" and actively dispersing to wide areas; concerned about new Israeli attacks.

Earlier in the Syrian conflict, Israel’s airstrikes typically aimed to destroy weapons convoys bound for Hezbollah in Lebanon. There’s now been a significant change. Two strikes in the past month -– widely attributed to Israel, though the Jewish state doesn’t comment on such matters –- targeted permanent infrastructure used by Iran’s forces. Both took place deep inside Syrian territory.

“It’s shortsighted to look at it in terms of how many kilometers from the border Iran is sitting,’’ said Amos Gilad, who recently stepped down as director of political-military affairs at Israel’s Defense Ministry. “Iran cannot be allowed to base themselves militarily in Syria. And Israel is fully determined to prevent that.’’

Rejecting EU attempts to keep Iran deal + staying in Syria = more regime changes on the US mind?

French President Emmanuel “Little Macro” Macron and German Chancellor Angela “Mutti” Merkel might just as well have stayed home and saved the carbon emissions spewed out during their flights to Washington.

Both came with the same task – to convince President Donald Trump not to pull the US out of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (the JCPOA) regarding Iran’s nuclear program. It was a fool’s errand.

Macron, in every way the junior representative of the Franco-German partnership at the heart of the European Union (EU), was the guest of honor at Trump’s first formal state dinner. He exploited his improbable “bromance” with Trump and his participation in last month’s strike on Syria for all he was worth – which, in the end, wasn’t much. Merkel, whose dislike for Trump is notorious and mutual, fared no better.

2005: CNN Host Christiane Amanpour Tells Assad US Looking For New Syrian Leader, Supporting “Opposition,” Preparing Coup

By Brandon Turbeville

By now, it is common knowledge among researchers and journalists focused on the Syrian crisis that the plan to destroy the Syrian government was not merely hatched in 2011 at the beginning of the physical crisis itself, but that it was part of a much older plan to eliminate all resistance to the world finance oligarchy. Indeed, not only did the plan go back further than 2011, its beginnings could be seen going all the way back to the 1980s.

One window into the coming destabilization came two years after the United States had invaded and destroyed Iraq for the same reason. Notoriously pro-war propagandist Christiane Amanpour sat down for an interview with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, during the course of which she alluded to the fact that the United States was planning on his overthrow...

Iran Envoy: If US Pulls Out, There Is No Nuclear Deal Left

With just over a week until President Trump’s May 12 ultimatum on Iran’s nuclear deal, there is growing speculation about what will happen. If President Trump does withdraw the US from the deal, however, Iran is being very clear what will happen.

“The consequence would be that Iran would in fact be ready to go back to the previous situation,” said Iranian Ambassador Hamid Baeidinejad, who said that without the US “there is no deal left.” European nations had previously suggested the deal might stay intact with or without the US.

The three European parties to the P5+1, Britain, France, and Germany, have been trying to come up with a sideline deal to placate President Trump and avoid the pullout. Whether this is going to be successful or not is still uncertain.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Iranian Ambassador Hamid Baeidinejad is entirely correct in his assessment; the question is, with a corruption indictment hovering over his head, will Netanyahu order massive strikes against either Iran, or Iranian bases in Syria well before the 12th, to attempt to misdirect the Israeli public, and the world, from what is going on with him personally (not to mention what Israeli is doing to Gaza)?!?

At this moment in time, understanding he has been caught lying again about Iran's military and nuclear capabilities, he may think he has nothing to lose here, and may to get into this war as quickly as possible, before the American people have the chance to think that their country is again being tricked into a war against a foreign nation by Israeli leadership, as happened with Iraq.

I would like to hope that President Trump is smarter than to fall for this, in a circumstance where Netanyahu is planning to have the costs for such wars to be borne primarily in American blood and American money; but right now, given some of the bone-headed choices his admnistration has made over the course of his presidency, I am really unsure.

And Trump's problem here, is that he has no one around him to advise him on what is really going on in Iran, other than Netanyahu, who is selectively spoon-feeding him every vicious, hubristic lie about the country he can turn his tongue to, in order to encourage an American attack against either Iranian forces in Syria, or against Iran proper itself.

So I would offer a polite caveat I feel compelled to share with both Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Trump here; there is a 6,000 LB gorilla, currently snoozing on the baby grand Bosendorfer in the living room on this issue.

It's name... is Russia.

And Russia been effectively combatting the jihadists in Syria,at Syria's behest, and its leadership, both military and civilian, have both consistently pledged its support to Iran, should Iran get attacked militarily.

War against Russia over Iran and/or Syria ... would be a form of suicide for the US military. And I say this, as someone who cares very greatly about the future of her country, because at this point it its existence, the US government does not have the weaponry; the troop strength; the manufacturing, or the money to insure a positive outcome against Russia.

Mr. President, the IAEA is comprised of highly bright, educated, and competent people; and when a bunch of people like those employed by the IAEA tell me that Iran is in full compliance with the P5+1 deal, my first tendency would be to believe them, rather than the lies of a foreign official who is trying to trick America's leadership to get onboard a war bandwagon against Iran.

Please, sir, don't fall for this. The potential repercussions for the US's future, could be both horrific.... and irrecoverable.

Australian Government and Press Ignore “Hands Off Syria” Anti-War Rally In Melbourne

As the Australian government continues to support the war on Syria and the secular government of Bashar al-Assad, even supporting America’s recent missile strikes on Syria in defense of al-Qaeda, it is proving that while it may be listening to big business, the United States, and the international Deep State, it is not listening to the very people it is claiming that it wants to defend...

Weapons inspector refutes U.S. Syria chemical claims

Ritter was one of the groundbreakers in developing on-site inspection techniques and methodologies. With this unique experience behind him, Ritter was asked in 1991, at the end of the Gulf War, to join the United Nations Special Commission, which was tasked by the Security Council to oversee the disarmament of Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction. From 1991 to 1998, Ritter served as a chief weapons inspector and led a number of teams into Iraq.

According to Ritter, in the following Flashpoints Radio interview with Dennis Bernstein conducted on April 23rd, US, British and French claims that the Syrian Government used chemical weapons against civilians last month appear to be totally bogus.

Dissecting The Syrian Conflict

The Syrian Civil War is not a simplistic conflict and has many factions involved, with each having varied motives for their involvement. Many of these groups have a vested interest in obscuring what their true purposes and plans are in Syria. This is perhaps the most complex and convoluted conflict in history and most Americans are unaware of the sheer number of sides and cross interests at play.

US plan of last push against ISIS raises specter of Syria partition

Announcing the start of military operations against the remaining strongholds of Islamic State, the US State Department included some pointed language, hinting at de facto partition of Syria, analysts tell RT.
“The days of ISIS controlling territory and terrorizing the people of Syria are coming to an end,” State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said on Tuesday. The operations will be conducted by the US-led coalition and local partners, including the Kurdish-majority Syrian Democratic Forces.

The US will also work with Turkey, Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon to “secure their borders” from Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL), Nauert said. This is intriguing, because the only remaining IS presence is near the Iraqi border, with a pocket south of Damascus currently being cleared out by Syrian government forces.

More American, French Military Convoys Arrive in Northern Syria

The US and France have dispatched new military convoys to the town of Manbij, North-East of Aleppo province as tensions go high in the region, a media outlet reported on Tuesday.

Orient news website reported that the American and French forces have deployed near Sajour River Northwest of the town of Manbij in Northeastern Aleppo.

Also, other sources reported that the Kurdish militias have been put on alert in the town of Manbij and have started to set up more checkpoints in and outside the town.

In the meantime, local sources in the town of al-Bab reported that the US and French forces have deployed in a region between the Kurdish positions and the regions held by the Turkey-led Euphrates Shield forces.

In a similar development last week, several units of France's Special Forces arrived in the Kurdish-controlled areas in Hasaka province in Northeastern Syria as foreign military troops are intensifying their movements in the region.

HOW WESTERN MEDDLING AND A DUST BOWL DROUGHT IGNITED SYRIA’S CIVIL WAR

The reported “chemical attack” at Douma, Russia has claimed, was fake news. One U.S. news agency has now confirmed from the location of the reported attack that April 7, 2018 was an uneventful day in this Syrian city and not one single person in Douma corroborated the story of a chemical attack taking place.
It is the latest in a long series of false-flag reports generated about Syria by the United States and forces that oppose the government of President Bashar al Assad. This trickery dates back to at least 2006, when a WikiLeaks cable exposed U.S. political treachery at its very worst; calculated meddling designed to harm the government and population of Syria.

In this article we will review false revelations and calculated moves undertaken by politicians to undermine Syria’s government, which is designed to provide protection to religious minorities and freedom for people of all faiths, who lived securely in Syria until civil war broke out in 2011.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately, I fear that the dark spectre of US intervention in Syria is far from over, as indicated by the following report:

23 CIVILIANS KILLED IN SYRIA IN SUSPECTED US COALITION AIR STRIKES

As happened in Iraq, and most probably soon to happen against Iran, this is all about the control of Middle Eastern oil, and in what currencies it will be allowed to be sold.

Israel ready to bomb Iran if necessary: Report

Israeli defense officials have told their American and Russian counterparts that if Iranian-backed forces attack Israel from inside Syria, Jerusalem will not hold back from retaliating with direct strikes against Tehran or other targets in Iran.

The officials delivered the message ahead of a national security statement expected Monday from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in response to Iranian threats to hit Israel after recent strikes on Tehran-backed assets in Syria, according to a report by Haaretz, an Israeli newspaper.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: look for a massive Israeli "false flag", to appear to have be created by the Iranian military against Israeli from Syria, and this war is off and running.

I would like to hope that Russian President Putin, in a conference call with Netanyahu, has completely disabused Netanyahu about pulling a stunt like this; however, one can never account for the ways in which Israeli hubris can lead to a catastrophe, as it well might under these circumstances.

And please note: such Israeli raids against Syria are against a soverign nation, which has invited Russian and Iranians there to help clamp down on Western-funded jihadists, are illegal under international law.

Syrian Army Conducts Intensive Air Strikes on Terrorists' Dens South of Damascus

Syrian state media reported Monday that the Syrian Army has conducted precision and intensive airstrikes on fortified militant positions in the Al-Hajar al-Aswad area to the south of Damascus.

According to SANA, Syria's state news agency, the Syrian Air Force carried out an intensive bombardment of fortified positions and infiltration routes used by terrorists in the area and inflicted heavy personnel and equipment losses upon them.

The reporter stressed that military operations against terrorist groups in the area will not stop until they are completely wiped out from the south of Damascus. At the same time, the Syrian government is beginning to implement the evacuation agreement reached Sunday with the jihadist group Tahrir al-Sham, also known as al-Qaeda in Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Syria, with Russia's help, is turning the tide against these jihadists, many of whom were funded and trained by the US government, and other Westerm entities.

But color me extraordinarily nervous about just what the US and Israel are going to do at this point, and just how much nonsense Russia's President Putin is going to put up with, before he orders an escalation of Russian troops against US/Israeli raids.

WHY IS ISRAEL DESPERATE TO ESCALATE SYRIAN CONFLICT?

After seven years of utter devastation and bloodletting, a consensus has emerged among all the belligerents of the Syrian war to de-escalate the conflict, except Israel which wants to further escalate the conflict because it has been the only beneficiary of the carnage in Syria.

Over the years, Israel has not only provided medical aid and material support to the militant groups battling the Syrian government – particularly to various factions of the Free Syria Army (FSA) and al-Qaeda’s Syrian affiliate al-Nusra Front in Daraa and Quneitra bordering the Israel-occupied Golan Heights – but Israel’s air force has virtually played the role of the air force of the Syrian jihadists and has conducted more than 100 airstrikes in Syria and Lebanon during the seven-year conflict.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In the view of Tel Aviv, Syria must be neutralized before there can be a meaningful attack against Iran, primarily with American troops, and the costs borne in American blood and American money, which the US government does not have.

But the one question President Trump needs to ask himself, if he goes full-tilt buggie on Syria and Iran, by way of an invasion, and a greater war, is just what Russia's President Putin will do to respond to such acts.

And President Trump had better think long and hard about this, because today, the US military doesn't have the money; the weaponry; the manufacturing; or the troop strength to insure a positive outcome to a war against either Syria or Iran, or possibly both.

His Jewish identity is mentioned hand-in-hand with his political orientation by The Times of Israel: “In criticizing Trump even after his electoral victory, Stephens joins other leading Jewish conservative voices, including Brooks, Jennifer Rubin and William Kristol.” His Jewish identity is pertinent because he is known as a neocon and a strong supporter of Israel. The one seems to reinforce the other. Furthermore, his position on Iraq was criminal and disastrous and now he’s advocating a position on Syria that would also be criminal and disastrous. We should be extremely skeptical of the objectivity of someone like him who comes across as a shill for Israel and the Empire all-in-one.

WW3 ALERT: Iran Threatens ‘Strikes Will Be Met With Force’ After US-led Syria Attacks - Mac Slavo

Iran has issued a chilling new warning to the United States an allied forces which allegedly coordinated an attack on Syria on Sunday. Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei has warned that attacks on Iranian military bases by the US or its allies will not be tolerated and will be met with “firm force.”

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, supreme leader of Iran, has launched a blistering verbal attack against the US in the wake of missile strikes on Syrian bases in Hama and Aleppo on Sunday night, according to The Daily Star. In a bellicose speech on Monday, Khamenei accused the US of causing a “regional crisis” in the Middle East by creating “instability” that has “brought misery to people.”

Iran: The True Focal Point for the IMF-NATO Hegemony, by Jeremiah Johnson

The “Iranian problem” is one that was created by the United States and Britain decades ago. Mossadegh was removed from office when the Shah was inserted…that selfsame Shah who supported Anglo-American oil interests in his country until Ayatollah Khomeini sparked the Iranian Islamic Revolution in ’79. That revolution began the takeover of the U.S. embassy in Teheran and the hostage situation that effectively ended the Carter presidency (rather his actions to resolve it, such as Operation Desert One). President Reagan came in, the hostages were released, Iran and Iraq fought a bloody war, and relations with the U.S. were discontinued.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Absoflippinglutely unbelievable, but consistently predictable from this government, no matter who is allegedly guiding it as President.

Does President Trump think, for a millisecond, that Russia's President Putin will just hold hands with the Duma, and sing "Kumbyah" at a concerted set of US/Israeli airstrikes against Syria?!? I would respectfully suggest that this only will happen after pigs discover they are aerodynamic.

A war with Russia over Syria is as insane as it can possibly get, unless you factor in the war Netanyahu wants the US to fight against Iran, which would be another idiotic thing for this Administration to decide to do.

Unfortunately, just because something is the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing for the US government to do, is utterly no guarantee that it won't do it.

If President Trump goes for both of these wars (after an "alleged" terrorist false flag inside this country, or against American interests overseas most probably, or a cyber 9/11), look for the return of a military draft, supported by both parties, and the devolution to an even worse climate for civil liberties, and the questionings of why these wars are necessary to wage for the protection of American people.

They are not; they are simply wars of aggression against two countries Israel wants the US to beat up militarily, which have absolutely done nothing to us, no have any mind to do so. and I must politely remind you; Tel Aviv wants the costs for these wars to be borne only in American blood and with American money.

Netanyahu's half hour of spewing fakeries on Faux TV, was just that; a fabulous story, well spun, with utterly no hard evidence.

Number one, how would have Israeli intelligence spirited those documents out of the country, which Netanyahu was using to justify his assertions that Iranian leadership has a secret nuclear missile program; and number two, if such a program exists, how could the IAEA, which has been monitoring Iran for compliance on the P5+1 accord, not know that such a facility existed?!?
I can guarantee you; the CVs of the members of the Iranian monitoriing team, would leave you breathless, at their collective levels of technical expertise.

The timing of Netanyahu's heavy-handed insanity, coming right before 12 May, when President Trump is to either recertify Iran as compliant with the accord, of decertify the US's agreement to the accord, is both scarily telling, and troubling; I doubt that the US government is going to recertify Iranian compliance here, which will lead to more US sanctions, which will lead to Iran walking away from the deal entirely.

That is the design intent for such US sanctions, period, end of discussion.
How soon a shooting war breaks out, I cannot tell you; the dangers which will be created by such a war, just feel...imminent, at this moment.

Pullout Unlikely as US Reinforcements Arrive in Syria

While President Trump still talks about withdrawing troops from Syria “relatively soon,” the impression on the ground in Syria is very much that US troops are staying. The Pentagon is showing no signs of rolling back deployments, and is adding more reinforcements into the area.

Over 2,000 US troops are deployed at a dozen bases in Syria, mostly in the northeast. Reports out of the area are that the US continues to expand the bases, building perimeter walls, defensive ditches, and helicopter runways.

This all points to one conclusion: the US troops are staying. Despite President Trump’s repeated comments, everything the Pentagon is doing gives the impression they’re readying more permanent bases, and making no effort to ready for drawing down their troop levels.

Syrian army says 'enemy' rockets hit military bases

Resonant Syria Strike Suggests Coordinated US-Israel Message To Russia And Iran

Overnight attack comes with Pompeo in the region, Netanyahu and Trump on the phone, Liberman in the US, and the US Army CENTCOM chief having visited without fanfare last week

Hours after a mysterious “earthquake” — 2. 6 on the Richter scale — registered on the devices of the European Mediterranean Seismological Center, the circumstances behind the series of explosions that shook Syria overnight Sunday-Monday are starting to become clear.

An increasing number of media organizations associated with the Syrian regime and Hezbollah are hinting that Israel was responsible. According to a report in the Al Akhbar newspaper, identified with Hezbollah, bunker buster missiles, which do not explode on impact but rather deep in the ground, hit bases in the Hama and Aleppo areas. Hence the “earthquake.”

The base that was attacked in the Hama area belongs to the 47th Brigade of President Bashar Assad’s Syrian Army, but apparently there were many Shiites and/or Iranians in the area. The Syrian Human Rights Observatory (based in London) reported that 26 people were killed in this attack, Iranians among them. Another report spoke of 38 fatalities. Whatever the case, it is clear that the strike was highly unusual in several respects.

Source: No Iranian Military Advisors Killed In Sunday Night Attacks In Syria

No Iranian military advisors have been killed in the Sunday night attacks on several military bases in Syria's Hama and Aleppo provinces, an informed source said on Monday, dismissing the claims made by few Arab media.

Syrian state media reported overnight that "enemy missiles" had struck government targets in Hama and Aleppo provinces. The reports did not mention any casualties from the missile strikes, or who was suspected of the attack.

In a news flash, state television said the missile attacks took place at 10:30 pm local time. Earlier, state television said successive blasts were heard in rural Hama province and that authorities were investigating the cause.

The Syrian army positions came under missile attacks in Hama and Aleppo provinces two weeks after the trilateral attacks by the US, the UK and France.

Arabs won’t fall for Saudi ‘brainwashing’ – Qatari FM rejects call to send troops to Syria

The Qatari foreign minister dismissed a Saudi ultimatum that Qatar must send troops to Syria or face the loss of US support and have its government fall, stating that it “was not worthy of a response.”
The official commented on the remarks of Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Jubeir in an interview with France 24 TV on Thursday.

“This statement [by the Saudi Foreign Ministry] is not worthy of an answer. Qatar refutes the brainwashing of the public opinion in the Arab world in such a way,” Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed Al-Thani said. Riyadh would not be able to manipulate public opinion with such statements since “Arab consciousness is much greater than what they imagine,” he added.
