THOUGHT FOR THE DAY!

"The global financial elite of the Ford, Carnegie and Rockefeller foundations are making the plans [for a one world government]. The real name of the game is 1984. We will have systematic population reduction, forced sterilization or anything else which the planners deem necessary to establish absolute control in their humanitarian utopia. But to enforce these plans, you must have an all-powerful world government. You can't do this if individual nations have sovereignty. And before you can facilitate the Great Merger, you must first centralize control within each nation, destroy the local police and remove the guns from the hands of the citizenry. You must replace our once free Constitutional Republic with an all-powerful central government." -- Gary Allen in his book "None Dare Call It Conspiracy"

In Stealth Move, Congress Backs Israeli Right's War on Settlement Boycotts

The finance committees of the House and Senate have approved amendments to a trade bill that equate boycotts of West Bank settlement products with boycotts of Israel, strengthening efforts by the Israeli right to silence opponents of West Bank settlements.
Both committees approved the amendments unanimously. Each committee then approved its version of the trade bill on a split vote, with Republicans in favor and Democrats divided for and against.

Supreme Court to Hear Oklahoma Inmates’ Lethal Injection Case

The case, Glossip v. Gross, was brought by three convicted murderers in Oklahoma who argue that the state’s recently adopted three-drug combination violates the Eighth Amendment because it poses a significant risk of terrible suffering.

Oklahoma and several other states have turned to the sedative, midazolam, as the initial agent in lethal injections because manufacturers in Europe and the United States have refused to sell them the barbiturates that were traditionally used to render prisoners unconscious.

But midazolam was implicated in three prolonged executions last year in which prisoners appeared to suffer.

From Amar Singh with love: Hillary campaign under fire over $5 mn donation to Clinton Foundation

A new book has raked up again the claim that former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh may have been behind a generous $5 million donation to the Clinton Foundation in 2008, and possibly acted as a conduit.

The allegations, which were first levelled against Singh in 2008 in a New York Times report, have resurfaced after a book raised questions over the donation made a individual named Amar Singh to the Clinton Foundation in 2008, around the same time Congress was debating the Indo-US civil nuclear deal.

What Makes Brussels More Equal Than Others

Dutch daily Algemeen Dagblad ran a little article recently that we’re surprised no other news organization picked up. It concerned a proposal in the European Parliament in which the parliamentarians got to vote on raising their own paycheck (always a good idea). Most did though. It much amused me to see that apparently it was Angela Merkel’s party, the German Christian Democrats, which was behind the proposal. Initially, they had even wanted double what they actually got. Here’s some numbers and details – and please forgive me for not being a math wizard -.

Ontario Budget Will Result in Devastating Hospital Cuts If Funding is Not Improved

(Toronto) – For the fourth consecutive year Ontario’s hospitals will suffer real-dollar budget cuts according to today’s Ontario Budget. This is the longest unbroken period of real-dollar public hospital cuts in Ontario’s history. Already, Ontario has cut hospital beds more drastically than virtually anywhere else in Canada, or the industrialized world. Maternity units, entire wards, even entire hospitals are threatened with closure. Despite all rhetoric and false claims, these are not services that are being replaced in community care. The hospital cuts are resulting in accelerated privatization, hardship for patients and unsafe hospital overcrowding that now ranks among the worst in the developed world.

While the government has openly announced its plans to privatize Ontario Hydro, the real-dollar cuts across all public services and health care also mean damaging – and potentially irreversible – cuts, closures and privatization of needed health care and other social services.

Low Fat and Low Saturated Fat Diet Bad for Health

The mantra that saturated fat is bad for you and must be removed to reduce the risk of heart disease has been drummed into public consciousness for almost four decades. But independent scientific evidence shows that this advice has paradoxically increased our cardiovascular risk. And the obsession with total cholesterol levels has led to the over- medication of millions with statins with yet more harm than benefit.

The British Medical Journal (BMJ) re-opened the debate on dietary fat and cholesterol lowering drugs with major articles published in October 2013, especially one by cardiologist Aseem Malhotra at Croydon University Hospital, London on why saturated fat is not the major issue [1], and another by John Abramson at Harvard Medical School and three colleagues in US and Canada universities asking if people at low risk of cardiovascular disease should take a statin [2].

Automakers With The Lowest (And Highest) Recall Rates

While it may come as no shock that luxury-car maker Mercedes-Benz came out atop the list of least-recalled brands, with an average 0.41 units recalled per vehicle sold, General Motors, with nearly 100 million vehicles recalled since 1985, actually placed third-best, with 0.65 cars and trucks recalled per unit sold.

Of the 15 major automakers surveyed, Hyundai Motor Company can lay claim to having the worst ratio, with 1.15 vehicles recalled for every model sold since it introduced the Excel to U.S. buyers in 1986. Other brands found to have recalled more cars than they sold in the U.S. over the last 30 years (needless to say this represents a number of cars for which multiple campaigns were initiated) include Mitsubishi, Volkswagen and Volvo; Chrysler broke even, so to speak, with a one-to-one sales-to-recall ratio. According to many media reports, a recent study in JAMA Oncology found that omega-3 fatty acids can reduce the effectiveness of cancer treatment.

The same stories have reported the researchers' recommendation that people undergoing chemotherapy refrain from eating oily fish or taking fish oil or omega-3 supplements on the day of their treatment.

But the study in question found no such thing, while other studies have actually suggested that omega-3s might reduce the side effects of cancer drugs while increasing their effectiveness.

AT&T Bills 83 Year Old $24,298 for AOL Dial Up

An 83-year-old Los Angeles man claims that AT&T charged him $24,298 -- for using his AT&T landline to access AOL service. According to the Los Angeles Times, Ron Dorff is one of 2.2 million users that still pay for AOL dial-up service. Dorff historically accesses the service via an AT&T landline, which he pays $51 a month for.

Out of the blue, Dorff was socked with a $8,596.57 bill, then a $15,687.64 charge, at which point he navigates the usual gauntlet of "right hand, meet left hand" phone support and technician no shows.

Though the Times article is murky on this point, the 83-year-old's modem was apparently misconfigured to dial a long distance number, racking up massive charges while the elderly man remained online.

New World Order: The Founding Fathers

“One wintry afternoon in February 1891, three men were engaged in earnest conversation in London. From that conversation were to flow consequences of the greatest importance for the British Empire and to the world as a whole.”

So begins Professor Carroll Quigley’s book The Anglo American Establishment. It may read like a John Le Carre thriller, but this was no spy fiction. The three staunch British Imperialists who met in London that day, Cecil Rhodes, William Stead and Lord Esher, were soon joined by Lords Rothschild, Salisbury, Rosebery and Milner, men whose financial, political, and administrative powers set them apart. Some of these names may not be familiar to you, but that is a mark of the absolute success of this group. From the outset they insisted on secrecy, operated in secret and ensured that their influence was airbrushed from history. They believed that white men of Anglo-Saxon descent rightly sat at the top of the racial hierarchy and they fully understood the impending threat from a burgeoning Germany whose modern, expanding economy had begun to challenge British hegemony on the world stage.

The above named elites drew up a plan for a secret society that aimed to renew the bond between Great Britain and the United States [1] and bring all habitable portions of the world under their influence and control.

The Message of Anzac: Put Out More Flags, or Shut Up

Ray loathed warmongering and would approve of my second hero. This is Scott McIntyre, a young SBS soccer journalist who, in four now famous Tweets, set out to counter the authoritarian sludge that demands that Australians celebrate the centenary of a criminal waste of life in the British imperial invasion of Turkey a century ago — in which Australians and New Zealanders, the “Anzacs”, took part — rather than recognise unpalatable truths about the past and present.

Opportunistic politicians and journalists have turned this melancholy event into a death cult that puzzles foreigners. Federal governments have spent almost $400 million promoting it as a fake patriotism – more than Britain, France, Germany and Canada combined: countries that lost many more men in the 1914-18 bloodfest. Today, the military and venal militarism are virtually off-limits for real public criticism.

Why? Australia, a nation without enemies, is now spending $28billion a year on the military and war and armaments in order to fulfil a tragic, entirely colonial and obsequious role, now as Washington’s “deputy sheriff” in the Asia-Pacific.

Civil Unrest and Riots: Why You MUST Be Armed to be Truly Prepared

If the scene in Baltimore, Maryland this week gives you a sense of deja vu, flashing back to the fall when Ferguson, Missouri was under siege, then this should be telling you something.

There's a distinct pattern when society breaks down, and as our society becomes more desperate, poverty-stricken, and lacking of moral compass, this trend will become more obvious. Note that the "lacking of moral compass" part doesn't just refer to the thugs rioting and looting, but also to the cops who think that their badges give them permission to behave like street thugs, too.

If you're not armed, it's time to take a long, hard look at how you're going to protect your family.

Fighting escalates across Yemen, air strikes on capital Sanaa

There were at least five air strikes on military positions and an area near the presidential palace compound in the Houthi-held capital Sanaa at dawn on Sunday, while warships pounded an area near the port of the southern city of Aden, residents said.

"The explosions were so big they shook the house, waking us and our kids up. Life has really become unbearable in this city," a Sanaa resident who gave his name as Jamal told Reuters.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Shame on Reuters (who have banned me from commenting on their site) for continuing to spin that the conflict in Yemen is somehow Iran's fault. Back in 2012, the US intervened and kicked out President Salah, installing a US puppet ruler Hadi. The people of Yemen tried to kick Hadi out and bring back Salah and that is why the US, using Saudi Arabia as a proxy, is bombing Yemen, to punish them for daring to think Yemen should be run for the benefit of the Yemenite people.

And, while the blood is still wet in Yemen, it looks like the US, using Egypt as a proxy, is about to attack Libya for trying to kick out the US puppet ruler imposed on them following the US invasion and murder of Gaddafi.

The Sovereign Nation of Shetland

Sovereign Nation of Shetland follows SNP lead.

Following the SNP's lead, the Sovereign Nation of Shetland (the SNS) is promoting a manifesto in an election it cannot possibly win, but in which it may be able to exert some influence. Just as the SNP is intent on independence from the UK, the SNS manifesto promotes the benefits of independence from Scotland. What's good for the goose is apparently good for the gander.

Spokesman Stuart Hill said: “Official figures reveal that Shetland would be £76 million better off – that's £7,600 per household. Half-price petrol and 20%off goods and services, plus fair money, fair justice and most of all fair democracy are additional benefits. When you add North Sea oil to the mix and the fact that Shetland has a £131 million per year positive trade balance with the rest of the world, independence does not seem so impossible or frightening – unless viewed from the UK perspective.”

Just 42 percent of the residents in Freddie Gray’s neighborhood are employed

Freddie Gray, the 25-year-old black man who died in police custody, was born into Sandtown’s literally toxic ghetto, according to a lawsuit he and his two sisters filed in 2008. The Sun’s Jean Marbella writes that the family claimed damaging lead levels in their blood as children led to “multiple educational, behavioral and medical problems.” They settled in 2010 for an undisclosed sum.

Whether because of lead or even more intractable structural problems, Sandtown has been unable to shake the kinds of economic woes prevalent in other predominantly African-American inner city neighborhoods.

Here are the terrifying facts about Sandtown, according to U.S. Census tract data.

— Just 42 percent of residents are employed, compared to the national average of 59 percent.

— Thirty-three percent of residential properties are vacant or abandoned.

— Just 54 percent of its residents are even in the labor force, even though 77 percent of residents are between 20 and 64 years old.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If you don't have a healthy environment, meaningful education, leading to meaningful jobs and the ability to better yourself, you are in a very, very bad situation indeed.

Hopelessness, exacerbated by police brutality, will ultimately lead to violence.

And it is very obvious that Baltimore PD has some industrial strength soul-searching to do about not letting officers, sworn to uphold the law, break it by brutalizing suspects, and not following standards and practices to the letter.

The late President Kennedy said it best: "When peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable."

SB 277 will unleash “medical civil war” in California as parents demand doctors be arrested for felony assault

It is a fundamental and non-debatable scientific truth that all vaccines have inherent health risks. The spectrum of harm varies widely, from small skin rashes to full-blown neurological damage and lifelong debilitation. Some children have even been killed by vaccines, and the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program has paid out nearly $3 billion to families of children who were provably injured by vaccines in America.

Paul Volcker Invests in Foreign Banks as He Lectures on U.S. Bank Reform

Last Monday, former Fed Chairman Paul Volcker held a press conference at the National Press Club to release his nonprofit’s plan for reforming U.S. bank regulation. Volcker’s plan includes elevating the Federal Reserve to even greater heights as a super regulator of a consolidated system. That’s exactly the opposite of what Congress has in mind as it holds hearings on fatal conflicts of interests between the Fed and Wall Street.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears that there are two prerequisites for getting into the top levels of the banking industry; the morals of a trout, and a conscience which has been surgically removed.

RON PAUL EXPOSES THE REAL WAR ON THE MIDDLE CLASS

Few things would benefit the middle class more than ending the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve’s inflationary policies erode middle-class families’ standards of living while benefiting the financial and political elites. Middle-class Americans may gain some temporary benefits from Federal Reserve created booms, but they also suffer from the inevitable busts.

As I write this, the dollar still reigns as the world’s reserve currency. However, there are signs that other economies are moving away from using the dollar as the reserve currency, and this trend will accelerate as the Federal Reserve continues to pump more fiat currency into the economy and as resentment toward our foreign policy grows. Eventually, international investors will lose confidence in the US economy, the dollar will lose its reserve currency status, and the dollar bubble will burst.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That slippage of the US dollar as the world's reserve currency may well be closer than many people think.

Bans on “Assault Weapons,” Firearm Magazines Can Be Based on Feelings, Rules Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals

Adding insult to injury, the majority found that “[i]f a ban on semi?automatic guns and large?capacity magazines reduces the perceived risk from a mass shooting, and makes the public feel safer as a result, that’s a substantial benefit.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Britain experienced the same stupidity, passing a gun ban because it made people feel they were safer. In fact, they were not. Crime increased significantly as criminals were free to prey on a populati8on they knew were disarmed. Despite the increase in crime, Britain kept their gun ban in place, again upon the excuse that people felt safer, even if in point of fact they were not at greater risk.

Baltimore: The Rioters were Set Up

The police stood down and refrained from their usual brutality, for the cameras. Those rioters were set up. They were incited by a brutal unprovoked murder of one of their friends and left to destroy some insured property that was dispensable to the establishment. It served the more important purpose of “demonstrating” how “thuggish” these rioters are….not.

Macau authorities deny CIA tried to assassinate Snowden

Authorities in the Chinese region of Macau have denied news reports that Chinese Special Forces averted an attempt by the United States Central Intelligence Agency to kill or capture American defector Edward Snowden. The reports were initially published on March 8 on the website of China News Service, China’s second-largest state-owned news agency after Xinhua. The news agency, which serves China’s Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macau, said that a secretive unit of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army held a private function to celebrate its success against an alleged attempt by the CIA to kill Snowden. The American former computer expert worked for the CIA and the National Security Agency before defecting to Russia in the summer of 2013. Prior to arriving in Russia, however, Snowden first sought refuge in Hong Kong, where he stayed until June 23.

Benjamin Fulford: Fall of the 6,000-Year Old System of Babylonian Debt Slavery

What we are witnessing is the fall of the 6,000-year old system of Babylonian debt slavery. The human ants are running around in increasing panic because they sense something big has happened. Most are blind so they cannot see that the eye at the top of the human ant-hill, or pyramid, has been overthrown. There is chaos because the people at the top cannot agree on what to do next.

Here is a humble suggestion on how the end the chaos and start an unprecedented era of prosperity. First of all, we need to replace the God we call money with a symbol of the world. A new currency would be issued, call it say a Mundo or ???and, for a limited period of time, it could be exchanged on a one for one basis with dollars or euros. The U.S. and the EU could then replace their currencies with something new, perhaps something like the greenback. The old dollar and euro would become something to be found in curiosity and antique shops. Other national or regional currencies could remain as they are.

Baltimore Police Caught On Video Beating and Arresting Reporters During Protests

The mainstream media wasn’t particularly interested in covering the massive protests in Baltimore last Saturday. But once they heard about isolated incidences of violence at the rallies demanding “Justice for Freddie Gray” the began scrambling to hone in, while ignoring the rampant police brutality at the same marches.

Outside of the local area, the media has been silent on the police on the scene beating and arresting journalists, after first attempting to stop them from recording.

Tulsa Undersheriff Resigns Amid Allegations He Falsified Training Records Of Eric Harris' Killer

Tulsa Country Undersheriff Tim Albin has resigned after documents revealed he unfairly promoted Robert Bates, the volunteer reserve deputy who mistakenly shot Eric Harris earlier this month.

Tulsa World reports that recently released documents show Albin falsified Bates' training records and quashed his colleagues' concerns about the deputy.

Sheriff Stanley Glanz announced Albin's resignation today at a County Board of Commissioners meeting.

Bates, a 73-year-old insurance executive, shot and killed Harris on April 2. Bates says he meant to Taser Harris but grabbed his handgun by mistake. Bates was charged with second-degree homicide April 14, and turned himself in.

10,000 Strong Peacefully Protest In Downtown Baltimore, Media Only Reports The Violence & Arrest of Dozens

10,000 people from across the country peacefully protested in Baltimore in support of the seeking of justice of the death of Freddie Gray. Despite the fact that 100 of the 10,000 acted up and approximately 35 people were arrested after the peaceful protest, (that’s about 1%), much of the mainstream media used attention grabbing words in their headlines like ‘Protest Turns Destructive, (USA Today)’ ‘Scenes of Chaos In Baltimore… (NY Times), Dozens Arrested After Protest Turns Violent (WBAL TV). One website BreitBart.com’s headlines read: 1,000 Black Rioters In Baltimore Smash Police Cars, Attack Motorists In Frenzied Protest.

Iran seizes commercial ship, U.S. forces respond

The ship, a Marshall Islands flagged vessel, was transiting the Strait into the Persian Gulf on an internationally recognized maritime route when the the Iranian military contacted the vessel and directed the ship master to "divert further into Iranian Waters," according to Pentagon spokesman Col. Steve Warren.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This stinks of a deliberate provocation to derail the P5+1.

The above is the tracking map for the vessel, M/V Maersk Tigris. The little squiggle is where it was intercepted by the Iranian patrol boat.

Click for larger image

This is the same tracking map, but with the shipping channels and Iranian territorial waters overlaid. From this it is obvious that the M/V Maersk Tigris was following the normal shipping route, but then did indeed alter course to starboard and into Iranian territorial waters. The only question is why? The tracking system indicates accurate GPS data was being received by the ship, so spoofing is out. There are no geographic features justifying a turn to starboard. Was the Captain of the M/V Maersk Tigris "persuaded" by the US Government to trigger a confrontation?

Baltimore riots: Security beefed up, cleanup starts after looting, fires

Charred cars and buildings. Hospitalized police officers. Looted and damaged businesses. No school, because it might not be safe for children to go outside.

That was the stark reality Tuesday after a day and night that saw 202 arrests, 144 vehicle fires and 19 structure fires, according to city spokesman Kevin Harris.

"What happened ... destroyed so much of the progress that the people who actually live here have been working for," said Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, calling Monday "a very dark day for our city."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Latest word from Baltimore police radio is that the protests are starting again.
