Seven die in massive Alps snowfall from Germany to Italy

Italy is in the grip of a cold snap - snow has even reached Matera, in the far south. There is also snow on Mt Vesuvius near Naples - a rare sight.

The heavy snow has forced many schools to close temporarily across Bavaria, and has disrupted some train services there.

More heavy snow is expected in the coming days - as much as 120cm (4ft) of fresh snow in Austria by Thursday.

Winter snow storm cripples central Europe

A week-long winter storm has brought massive amounts of snow to central Europe with southern Germany and Austria getting slammed with the greatest amounts.

The heavy snow turned deadly when one person was killed on Saturday when a vehicle skidded on a slick road and struck another near the town of Bad Toelz. Four others were injured in the crash.

A woman who was part of a group visiting Teisenberg Mountain was also killed in an avalanche.

Heavy snow strands 2,000 travelers at airport in Hokkaido

Heavy snowfall in Hokkaido stranded about 2,000 passengers at New Chitose Airport near Sapporo on Saturday. Airlines canceled 105 flights, forcing passengers to spend the night in the terminal.

On Sunday, there was more chaos at the airport as airlines tried to add more flights because planes scheduled to depart Sunday for Tokyo and Osaka were already fully booked due to the end of the New Year holiday period, Fuji TV reported.

More than 20 cms of snow fell on the runway on Saturday, delaying flights as the day progressed. On Sunday, the snow let up and airlines resumed flights but by mid-afternoon, many passengers were still waiting for news about flight availability.

Researchers Show That Global Warming Happened Just as Fast in the past as Today

Climate change is progressing rapidly. It is not the first time in our planet's history that temperatures have been rising, but it is happening much faster now than it ever has before. Or is it? Researchers at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg have shown in the latest edition of the journal Nature Communications that the temperature changes millions of years ago probably happened no more slowly than they are happening today.

Pelosi’s Pick to Lead Climate Crisis Committee Owned Stock in Top Polluters

Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s (D., Calif.) choice to lead the House Climate Crisis Committee owned stock in several companies that rank among the nation’s top air and water polluters.

Last week, Pelosi announced that Democratic congresswoman Kathy Castor (Fla.) would chair the newly reconstituted House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis. Pelosi’s decision to reestablish the committee, which existed from 2007 until 2011 when it was disbanded by Republicans, signals that climate change will be a top priority for the new Democratic majority.

Air traffic from Srinagar remains suspended due to snowfall

There is chill all around. A spine-chilling chill. Winter has wrapped us. Coldly. Snow is layering us. Slowly. Maybe winter for outsiders means joy, nature’s delight. For majority of us, however, it continues to mean damp darkness. By all means.

This wintriness is replaying some old stories, some new pain; some past suffering, some present woes—our narrative is turning into a mosaic of unfinished history that lingers on, on and on…. with nothing but more misfortune.

From bloody political spats to squabbles over basic amenities, the agony is just appalling. Nothing is unrelated with the turmoil we are enmeshed in since more than two decades. A consistent effort to devastate our sources of mind, money and morals is going unabated.

Snow storm causes chaos for travelers in Germany, Austria

Heavy snow caused travel chaos in parts of Germany and Austria as authorities closed roads and train routes because of avalanche danger and airports reported weather-related cancelations Saturday.

At least 120 flights were canceled for Saturday at the region's largest airport in Munich, a spokeswoman said, adding that the number could still increase.

There are also massive delays at the airport, with at least 70 flights taking off an hour or more behind schedule. The regular plan for Saturday included 850 departures.

German police said one person died and two people were seriously injured when their car skidded into oncoming traffic on icy roads near the town of Bad Toelz.

The airport in the Austrian city of Innsbruck also reported a "massive reduction in air traffic."

“Green” Socialism is Still Socialism

Upon taking control of the U.S. House of Representatives the first thing America’s Marxist Party did was to propose a Soviet-style, communistic destruction of American capitalism labeled a “Green New Deal.” The Party chose as its spokesperson for this totalitarian venture a young woman named Sandy Ocasio who grew up in one of the wealthiest enclaves in America, Westchester County, New York, but who decided to lie about this to get into politics by calling herself “Alex from the Bronx.” Sandy sounds like a poorly-educated-but-well-indoctrinated young communist with a ninth-grade mentality.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Suggests Super Wealthy be Taxed Up to 70% to Fund ‘Green New Deal’

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sat with Anderson Cooper for an upcoming 60 Minutes interview set to air this Sunday, a portion of which has been released as a promotion. In the released segment, Ocasio-Cortez reveals how exactly she suggests paying for the environmental agenda known as the “Green New Deal” — with remarkably higher tax rates for the super wealthy.

Ocasio-Cortez suggests in the clip that in her esteem, people should be doing more to pay their “fair share.” When Cooper pressed on how she could possibly pay for the deal, she pointed to the progressive tax rate system in the 1960s, explaining that if you earn 0 to $75,000 a year, you would only pay 10% or 15% in income tax.

As “climate change” fear mongering falls apart, 2018 goes down as the first year in history with no violent tornadoes

As 2018 draws to a close, experts say this year will go down in history as being the first on record that did not experience any high-end twisters, with not a single violent tornado touching down anywhere in the United States all year and the 10 tornado deaths noted this year vying to become a record low.

Why is that relevant? Many experts and climate change alarmists alike have long held that global warming will lead to more frequent and powerful tornadoes. Trapping heat with greenhouse gases, the theory goes, adds energy to the atmosphere in the form of moist, warm unstable air that forms tornadoes.

Brazil’s new President vows to fight “Marxist garbage” and “climate change hoax”

On New Year’s Day, Brazil’s new president, Jair Bolsonaro, was sworn in – and he started his presidency with a bang.

One of his main goals is to fight the “Marxist garbage” that has installed itself in educational institutions, Samhällsnytt reports.

If any values are to be taught in schools alongside the subject knowledge, then it’s traditional family values, the newly appointed Minister of Education Ricardo Vélez has stated.

Brazil’s hosting of the UN climate summit in 2019 has been canceled – because the president believes that the doomsday climate change warnings are exaggerated and propaganda from the global left and cultural Marxists.

As we reported earlier he has promised to make the process short with the criminal gangs that plague the country.

Snow in Sierra Vista!

It doesn't snow often in southern Arizona and when it does, it's met with mixed reaction.

"I can't believe its snowing, its Arizona, like you don't expect this," said Ken Barnes, a Sierra Vista resident.

Barnes has lived in sierra vista for 4 years, and says its probably snowed only once before.

"But, not this much. It's been snowing all day," said Barnes.

With a winter wonderland feel, snow fell atop trees and cars and piled in inches. This rare opportunity to play in the snow -- was taken full advantage of by children. But those from sierra vista were shocked at the amount of snow they saw all day. Two to three inches accumulated, but some places saw more.

"This is too much for me. I'm from California so, this is way too much," said Barnes.

HOUSE DEMOCRATS ARE LINING UP BEHIND WHAT COULD BE THE LARGEST EXPANSION OF GOVERNMENT IN DECADES

Democrats are increasingly lining up to support a “Green New Deal,” which, while vague on details, could end up being the largest expansion of government in decades.

As it stands, the “Green New Deal” is more aspirational than actual policy. Indeed, it takes its name from the New Deal of the 1930s, and its main backer, incoming Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, compared it to the Great Society of the 1960s.

More than 40 Democratic lawmakers support the “Green New Deal” as part of a broad plan to fight global warming and bring about what they see as “economic, social and racial justice.” A poll found most Americans supported the deal, but knew little about it

It’s something he had been saying for years, and he somehow had enough credibility that lots of people took his words at face value. In fact, when 2013 did roll around, the polar ice cap was reportedly at its highest level since 2006. NASA satellite photos taken in August 2014 showed a 60 percent increase in the size of the polar ice sheet, reaching more than half of the size of Europe – a far cry from being completely melted. Shouldn’t the opposite be happening if global warming is real?

Polar vortex 'could bring freezing Arctic air over the U.S. and send temperatures plummeting within weeks'

Weather researchers say that a polar vortex could hit the United States and Canada with extremely frigid temperatures either by the end of this month or in January.

Judah Cohen, who is a climate expert at Atmospheric and Environmental Research, said that the latest studies indicate there is a chance Arctic air could push southward and blanket much of the Northern Hemisphere in the coming weeks.

It all depends on the polar vortex, the patch of air 60,000 feet above the Earth’s Arctic surface, according to The Washington Post.

The Global Warming Psyops That People Don't Get

There is an overarching social-political theory behind the propaganda of Global Warming / Climate Change. And that is the construction of one-world government. That entails, inter alia, how mankind should be organized, governed, their attitudes and behavior changed, in a massive reboot of all civilizations into a standardized civilization with standardized new religion, new habits, new lifestyles, with much of the planet earth off limits to the vast masses of humanity in the name of preserving nature, wildlife, environment, Gaia (mother earth), for future generations. Individual rights to be subsumed under community rights. Private property rights abolished for the public (not for the elite who hold property under corporations, tax-exempt foundations, non-governmental organizations called NGOs, etc.) Such a massive overhaul of mankind, a global transformation, cannot be brought about by peoples and nations simply agreeing to giving up their rights and national sovereignty.

Scientists have decided to publically attempt a geoengineering experiment. The researchers from Harvard University are going to attempt to use particles to block out the sun in an attempt to save humanity from global warming, and cool the planet.

According to Popular Mechanics, this incredibly bad-sounding idea seems like it stemmed from an actual event. In 1991, the volcano Mount Pinatubo erupted in the Philippines, sending millions of tons of ash and sulfur dioxide into the atmosphere. This layer of particulates actually lowered global temperatures by almost a full degree Fahrenheit for the following two years.

Vatican Calls for ‘Urgent Action and Urgent Decisions’ to Stop Climate Change

The Vatican delegation to the U.N. Climate summit in Katowice, Poland, has issued an “urgent call for ambition, action, and true solidarity” in battling climate change.

At a press conference on Wednesday, Monsignor Bruno-Marie Duffé, coordinator of the Holy See delegation, said that the climate crisis has economic, social, and financial aspects, while insisting on the call of Pope Francis to listen attentively to the cries of the earth, which is “groaning out in travail.”

Al Gore Attacks Trump on Climate Change: ‘Much of What He Says Is Nonsense’

Former Vice-President and environmental activist Al Gore says that President Donald Trump’s position on climate change could boost global efforts to tackle so-called global warming due to the president’s previous remarks on the issue.

The Revolt of the “Yellow Vests”

For decades now, working people, tax payers and retirees have been battered by the Green elites who shelter in well-paid tax havens like the UN and Greenpeace.

These Green elites have been supported by fellow travellers like the Clintons, Obama and Hollywood in America; Merkel in Germany; David Cameron, Prince Charles, David Attenborough and the BBC in UK; Macron in France; Gillard, Turnbull, Flannery and the ABC in Australia; the Trudeau dynasty in Canada; plus ranks of pious clerics, scheming oil sheiks, green energy speculators and guilt-stricken big business executives.

Fuel Poverty: It's Not Just France's Problem As Excess Winter Deaths Rise

Discussed is the huge increase in winter deaths in the UK. The spin is that it’s due to the ineffective flu vaccine and the elderly being ‘unable to know when they are cold’

I’ve tackled the ineffective flu vaccine countless times. Promoted as a panacea. Failing constantly. However the very idea that the elderly don’t know when they are cold and are allowing themselves to freeze to death is both absurd and insulting.

#Snowmageddon2018: Photos, videos show South blanketed in snow, ice

A winter storm system is slamming the South this weekend, bringing snow, ice and sleet to the region – especially the Carolinas. The dangerous mix also knocked out power to tens of thousands of people.

Stunned Southerners, journalists, meteorologists and even comedian Patton Oswalt took to social media to share their photos and videos of the wintry mix. Check out some of them below:

Planning for climate change to the sound of ‘ka-ching’

One constant in our city is that money always seems to excuse absurdity.

We saw it when Mayor Kirk Caldwell ripped the Trump administration for denying the dire warnings of its National Climate Assessment, only to practice his own climate denial when it came to Honolulu rail and the development around it.

It would be unthinkable, he said, to take advantage of new climate knowledge and stop rail at Middle Street or reroute it along Beretania Street to the University of Hawaii instead of continuing to aim it at a future swamp in Kakaako and Ala Moana.

“The investment, the infrastructure, the real property values are just too tremendous to do that,” he said. Even if all the money ends up underwater, apparently.

Keep It In The Ground Activists Stormed Trump Administration’s Event At UN Meeting

Environmental activists took over a pro-fossil fuel event at the United Nations climate conference, storming onto the stage and chanting “keep it in the ground.”

The Trump administration is maintaining a presence in the weeklong climate conference that’s being held in Katowice, Poland this year. While the conference centers around how to transition to clean energy and reduce the world’s green house gas emissions, the U.S. delegation has used it as an opportunity to extoll the benefits of fossil fuels.

The U.S. government hosted a panel on Monday titled “U.S. Innovative Technologies Spur Economic Dynamism.” The event was intended to “showcase ways to use fossil fuels as cleanly and efficiently as possible, as well as the use of emission-free nuclear energy,” according to a statement from the State Department.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Emission-free nuclear energy?!? What do you call all that radioactive waste?

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Claims Stopping Climate Change Will End Racism

Since becoming the youngest woman ever elected to Congress, millennial "Democratic Socialist" Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has repeatedly demonstrated her tenuous grasp on economics, statistics and basic civics in a seemingly endless stream of gaffes.

And just when you thought she'd never be able to top that time she insisted that the unemployment rate is so low because everybody is working two jobs (that's not how that works), or the time she insisted that "predatory" health insurance companies should pay for the funerals of people who were denied coverage (inadvertently implying that her "Medicare-for-all" plan would stop people from dying), the self-styled "champion of the working class" has handed her conservative critics another gift.

Shortly after she threatened to use her subpoena power to harass Donald Trump Jr. after he tweeted an 'mean meme' making fun of Ocasio-Cortez and her fellow socialists (provoking an uproar on twitter)...

Drivers call for protests at City Hall amid fury over Sadiq Khan's 'ultra-low emission zone' covering the whole of London that will charge motorists with cars that are just three years old £12.50 a day 'and raise SIX times more than the congestion charge'

Motorists have reacted with fury at a new London pollution charge covering large swathes of London which is expected to hit one million drivers.

Mayor Sadiq Khan confirmed that ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) - being introduced in Central London next year - will stretch to cover an area surrounded by the North and South Circular roads from October 2021.

The £12.50 per day fee means cash-strapped Transport for London will collect up to £1.5billion a year - six times as much as the £230million from the congestion charge.

NSIDC: Arctic freeze-up well underway, November snow cover over North America most extensive since 1966

The Arctic freeze-up season is well underway, with ice extent increasing faster than average for most regions in November. Exceptions were in the Chukchi and Barents Seas, where the ice has been slow to form. Meanwhile, November snow cover over North America was the most extensive since 1966, the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) reported in their analysis released December 4, 2018.

Arctic sea ice extent for November averaged 9.80 million km2 (3.78 million mi2), the center reports. This was the 9th lowest November in the 1979 to 2018 satellite record, falling 900 000 km2 (347 000 mi2) below the 1981 to 2010 average, yet 1.14 million km2 (440 000 mi2) above the record November low in 2016.

Global Warming Enthusiasts are really believe the Malthusian Trap – Modern Witch Doctor Analysis

You have pointed out several times that the agenda behind the global warming crowd is, besides taxes, also the reduction of the global population. Initially, I had difficulties believing in this “crazy conspiracy theory”, but I start to believe you could be right. Where I live, The Netherlands, the brainwashing machine to convince people that CO2 is THE problem, is on overdrive and very effective. More and more people are believing this non-sense and regularly start to claim that the world population should decrease because we are one of the main sources of the increase of CO2 concentrations. When you ask them how that should be accomplished they reply “birth control”. But how this should be done they don´t know, but most probably (as usual) rely on the government to come up with a solution.

"Historic Storm" To Bury Southern Appalachians In Snow; Expect Massive Travel Disruptions

Ed Vallee, head meteorologist at Vallee Weather Consulting, has certainly been on his weather game this year. Last month, his forecasts correctly pointed to a number of cross-country storms and unprecedented cold weather that punished the East Coast.

Now, his forecasts point to a new danger. Winter Storm Diego will travel through the southern US with a swath of snow, sleet and freezing rain from the southern Plains to the Ozarks, southern Appalachians, and parts of the Mid Atlantic late this week into early next week.

Can the Democrats Really Win 2020 with a New Green Deal?

"This is going to be the New Deal, the Great Society, the moon shot, the civil rights movement of our generation," declaimed Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D–N.Y.) at a "Solving Our Climate Crisis" townhall this week. She was referring to the idea of a Green New Deal, which Mother Jones describes as "a complete realignment of the U.S. economy for a carbon-free future." Not wanting for ambition, Ocasio-Cortez added this goal: "We can use the transition to 100 percent renewable energy as the vehicle to establish economic, racial and social justice in America."

Barack Obama’s Secret Plan To Impose A New World Order Just Blew Up In His Face

Donald Trump recognized the threat this anti-American agreement posed and withdrew the United States from the deal in a May 2017 Rose Garden ceremony.

Trump’s decision incensed French President Emmanuel Macron.

Macron styles himself as the leader of the “liberal world order” that Donald Trump was elected to shake up.

The French President received plaudits from so-called “mainstream” media journalists when he insulted Trump to his face by attacking nationalism as the exact opposite of patriotism.

But Macron is about to be brought down by Obama’s climate change agenda.

The streets of Paris devolved into scenes out of a third world war zone as neighborhoods burned and French citizens rose up in protest over Macron’s plan to raise eight billion Euros through increased carbon taxes.

Will Paris Riots Scuttle Climate Accord?

Yet, though confidence may abound in Katowice that the world will meet the goals set down in Paris in 2015, the global environmentalists seem to be losing momentum and losing ground.

Consider what happened this weekend in France.

Saturday, rage over a fuel tax President Emmanuel Macron has proposed to cut carbon emissions brought mobs into the heart of Paris, where they battled police, burned cars, looted, smashed show windows of elite stores such as Dior and Chanel, and desecrated the Arc de Triomphe.

In solidarity with the Paris rioters, protests in other French cities erupted.

Virulently anti-elite, the protesters say they cannot make ends meet with the present burdens on the working and middle class.

Specifically, what the rioters seem to be saying is this:

We cannot see the benefits you are promising to future generations from cutting carbon emissions. And we cannot survive the taxes you are imposing on us in the here and now.

TERRAFORMING has begun: “Global dimming” is a plot to EXTERMINATE humanity by terraforming the atmosphere with SMOG pollution, killing Earth’s food crops and unleashing ecological collapse

Now we come to the end game for humanity. This is it, folks: They have a plan to collapse global food production, kill off over 90% of the human race, devastate natural ecosystems and pollute the Earth’s atmosphere… and it’s all being sold to you under the banner of “environmentalism.”

The scheme is called “global dimming,” and it’s a dangerous geoengineering plot to spray billions of tons of smog into the atmosphere so that pollution levels would block sunlight and halt global warming. This is literally what the mad environmental scientists are now proposing — the very same people who have, for years, claimed that “chemtrails” are a conspiracy theory and don’t exist. Now, all of a sudden, they want to chemtrail the entire planet in order to “save” us all from global warming.

FLASHBACK - Global warming data FAKED by government to fit climate change fictions

When drug companies are caught faking clinical trial data, no one is surprised anymore. When vaccine manufacturers spike their human trial samples with animal antibodies to make sure their vaccines appear to work, we all just figure that's how they do business: lying, cheating, deceiving and violating the law.

Now, in what might be the largest scientific fraud ever uncovered, NASA and the NOAA have been caught red-handed altering historical temperature data to produce a "climate change narrative" that defies reality. This finding, originally documented on the Real Science website, is detailed here.

We now know that historical temperature data for the continental United States were deliberately altered by NASA and NOAA scientists in a politically-motivated attempt to rewrite history and claim global warming is causing U.S. temperatures to trend upward. The data actually show that we are in a cooling trend, not a warming trend (see charts below).
