Biofuels 'worse than petrol' for the environment, new study finds

“Green” biofuels such as ethanol and biodiesel are in fact worse for the environment that petrol, a landmark new study has found.

The alternative energy source has long been praised for being carbon-neutral because the plants it is made from absorb carbon dioxide, which causes global warming, from the atmosphere while they are growing.

But new research in the US has found that the crops used for biofuel absorb only 37 per cent of the CO2 that is later released into the atmosphere when the plants are burnt, meaning the process actually increases the amount of greenhouse gas in the air.

The scientists behind the study have called on governments to rethink their carbon policies in light of the findings.

The use of biofuels is controversial because it means crops and farm space that could otherwise be devoted to food production are in fact used for energy.

George Soros Paid Al Gore Millions To Lie About Global Warming

Newly leaked documents reveal that billionaire George Soros bribed former Vice President Al Gore with millions of dollars in order to fabricate data about global warming.

According to a document published by DC Leaks, Soros used his Open Society Institute to pay Al Gore $10 million dollars per year in order to make Gore exaggerate claims about man-made climate change to the public.

BEX ALERT - Nasa: Earth is warming at a pace 'unprecedented in 1,000 years'

Records of temperature that go back far further than 1800s suggest warming of recent decades is out of step with any period over the past millennium.

Webmaster's Commentary:

NASA, which stands for Never A Straight Answer (I know; I used to work for them) is still pushing the human-caused global warming nonsense to justify a carbon tax even though we have had several record-setting winters and are headed into yet another. It is already snowing in the northern hemisphere, including Colorado, California, Calgary and winter sports venues in northern Europe are opening early this season.

The Old Farmer's Almanac is saying we have another hard winter coming, and frankly, having worked for NASA, I trust the Almanac on this one.

August snow on America's Mountain catches visitors by surprise

Snow added up on the summit of Pikes Peak Wednesday afternoon, much to the surprise of visitors headed to the peak on the Cog Railway. Many of them weren't expecting operators to announce the temperature on the summit was 30 degrees. With the wind chill, it felt like 24 degrees.

"I asked some people who just came down and they said it was snowing up there," said visitor Betti Tinley. "There is three inches of snow on the ground."

Biofuels worse for climate change than gas, U-M study says

The multi-billion-dollar U.S. biofuels industry — promoted and expanded for more than a decade by the federal government — may be built on a false assumption, according to a University of Michigan study published Thursday that is sure to stir all sides in the contentious debate over the industry.

Despite their purported advantages, biofuels — created from crops such as corn or soybeans — cause more emissions of climate change-causing carbon dioxide than gasoline, according to the study from U-M Energy Institute research professor John DeCicco.

The study is the latest salvo in the expanding battle over whether biofuels, and the farmland increasingly devoted to them, are actually providing the environmental and climate benefits many expected.

Bill Nye Rips CNN For Having ‘Climate Change Denier Meteorologist’

Bill Nye doesn’t mince words when it comes to climate change.

CNN brought the “Science Guy” on the network to talk about the severe flooding in Louisiana, where at least 13 people have been killed and 60,000 homes damaged.

“For us, on my side of this, this is a result of climate change,” Nye told anchor Chris Cuomo. “It’s only going to get worse.”

But while explaining how warmer oceans could lead to bigger storms, he also fired a shot at the very network he was on.

“Here at CNN you have essentially a climate change denier meteorologist and knock yourselves out,” Nye said. “But this is a big problem and it’s not going to go away.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Bill Nye, the not-really-science guy, is behind the times. The mayor of one of the hardest hit towns in Louisiana is suing the state and federal governments because a concrete divider on the local highway prevented water from draining away, resulting in the flooding. Clexit Creeps Closer

The “CLEXIT” Campaign (CLimate Exit) which originated in Australia was inspired by the Brexit decision of the British people to withdraw from the increasingly dictatorial EU bureaucracy. Clexit is spreading world-wide (16 countries already).

Clexit aims to prevent ratification of the costly and dangerous Paris global warming treaty which is being promoted by the EU/UN and their green army. This war on hydro-carbon energy has already caused massive losses to western industry. If allowed to continue as envisaged by the Paris Treaty, economic depression will follow and all nations will suffer.

We must stop this futile waste of community savings; cease the destruction and dislocation of human industry; stop killing rare bats and birds with wind turbine blades and solar/thermal sizzlers; stop pelletising trees to feed power stations designed to burn coal; stop converting food to motor vehicle fuel; and stop the clearing of bush and forests for biofuel cultivation and plantations.

Colin Powell Won’t Be Hillary Clinton’s Huckleberry

Wow, the nerve of some people who just refuse to play ball.

The fact that Hillary Clinton used her personal email account for sensitive government communication is still haunting the presidential candidate. Although she seems to be generously coated in Teflon when it comes to criminal charges, the public isn’t quite as willing to let her transgression with national security go as James Comey, the Director of the FBI is.

So, she did what any reasonable person would do. She blamed someone else.

But she made a big mistake when she chose her potential patsy.

In recent days, President Obama announced new "executive actions" on guns, that included language to shore up current federal law aimed at keeping mentally ill Americans from buying guns. Some skeptics of the president's actions believe that, as is usually the case, there are ulterior motives behind his actions.

For example, some believe that the president's order may include guidance on declaring people who disagree with Obama's policies – like those regarding so-called "global warming" and "climate change" – as mentally unstable.

The Portland Public School Board voted earlier this year to ban any classroom materials, including textbooks and other material purchased by the district, that cast doubt on the existence of climate change.

This new rule was passed unanimously by the board’s members, who agreed with testimony from Bill Bigelow, a former Portland teacher, when he said,

“We don’t want kids in Portland learning material courtesy of the fossil fuel industry.”

Materials that present climate change as a theory rather than as a fact will no longer be used and, going forward, they will not be purchased by the district for students. Additionally, materials must make it clear that human activity is responsible for the rapid climate change occurring on our planet. The resolution also calls for the superintendent and staff to develop an education plan for teaching students about climate justice.

A student of Lincoln High School, Gaby Lemieux, said in testimony at the hearing,

Webmaster's Commentary:

Yes, I understand that we have to mandate the companies which produce fossil fuel to become as environmentally friendly as possible.

But we cannot stop there; the US government has got to send one little slice of the money it spends on its wars of conquest to control fossil fuel resources to create truly usable alternative energy; the kind of energy which can power a tank, or fly a plane.

That would be both logical and intelligent.

But the people desirous of banning books which don't spew the codswallop of human caused global warming are missing one critical fact; how hot, or how cold, the earth gets is primarily dependent on the sun, and it's cycles.

The predictions for winter 2016-2017 from the Old Farmer's Almanac (which has an annoying reputation for being generally correct), are as follows.

Get ready for a shift from last year! For the winter of 2016–2017, we expect temperatures to be much colder than last winter but still above normal. Winter 2017 will also feature below-normal snowfall overall; the snowy exception is the northern tier of the U.S., which can expect to be blanketed in white. Winter will be colder in much of the eastern two-thirds of the nation. Exceptions will be in a swatch from North Dakota to Maine, which will have below-normal temperatures. Most of the Pacific states will have below-normal temperatures, with above-normal temperatures in the Intermountain region and Desert Southwest. Snowfall will be above normal from southern New England and western New York southward through the Appalachians, but not in northern New England. Snowfall with also be above what’s typical from eastern Minnesota to the UP (Upper Peninsula) of Michigan and southward to St. Louis, Missouri; and from central North Dakota westward to the Pacific. We expect below-normal snowfall in most other places that normally receive snow. Precipitation will be below normal across most of the southern two-thirds of the nation. However, precipitation will be above normal in the North, with the primary exceptions being above-normal rainfall in northern California, southern Oregon, portions of the western Lower Lakes region, and Florida. With rainfall below normal in most of California, the drought there will continue. In Canada, brace for more snow and colder-than-average temperatures throughout most parts of the country. The exceptions to the winter of white will be Manitoba, portions of Saskatchewan, and northern sections across the land. While snowfall will generally be below normal in these areas, temperatures will remain chilly

Frankly, with an 80% success rate in their predictions over the last 225 years, I would more likely place my bets on this than ANYTHING the "Warmistas" have to say.

The volcanoes no one has ever seen

"We have very little idea about the frequency and style of volcanic eruptions on the seafloor, nor the detailed structure of the crust they produce, so basically we don't really know what the crust of a large part of the Earth looks like."

Webmaster's Commentary:

This has always been one of the biggest holes in the "humans are warming the planet" agenda. Nobody knows how many active volcanoes and thermal vents there are on the floor of the world's oceans, and thus nobody knows how much heat is being added to the oceans by geothermal activity. So any claims about how much humans are warming the ocean are based on out-of-thin-air guesses at best.

Al Gore Blames Deadly Louisiana Floods On Global Warming — Just As New Studies Debunk His Claim

Environmentalists were quick to blame global warming for making flooding in Houston and Louisiana worse than it would otherwise be. Gore doubled down on such claims and used the flooding to highlight the need to slow global warming.

“These kinds of record downpours — that’s one of the manifestations of the climate crisis,” Gore said.

“It is central to the prospects for our future, for the futures of our families and our communities, and the future of human civilization,” he said. “That sounds overly expansive but that really and truly is the case.”

But Gore’s blaming of extreme flooding on global warming runs counter to newly published research on warming’s impact on precipitation. In a nutshell, two new studies found little evidence behind such claims.

Australia Finds Out Wind Power Doesn’t Really Work

The article entitled, “ Australia Considers Banning Wind Power Because It’s Causing Blackouts,” makes many damning points about wind power.

Household electricity prices in Australia have risen by more than 40 percent between 2007 and 2012, the same period when the government offered lucrative wind subsidies.

Power prices in Australian states with a lot of wind power are almost double the rates in other states. Australia’s reliance on wind power risks damaging the country’s power grid because the amount of electricity generated by a wind turbine is very intermittent and doesn’t coincide with the times of day when power is most needed.

Exactly the same arguments can be made regarding solar power. The entire solar and wind industry is surely based on extravagant government subsidies, not just in Australia but around the world. China has recently declared a moratorium on more wind power in some regions. The energy is neither predictable nor efficiently stored.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Governments can never allow themselves to appear to be wrong, so every time they screw up (which is often) they prop up their failures with more and more of your tax dollars.

While the world debates global warming, solar physicist warns of coming Ice Age

According to Professor Zharkova, sunspot activity is likely to fall – similarly to what took place during the Maunder Minimum or "The Little Ice Age." This will culminate in drastic drops in temperature and more winter-like conditions. Zharkova observed that solar activity had a significant influence on past climate trends.

During the "Little Ice Age" that lasted close to two centuries, sunspot activity was low, and temperatures plunged throughout the Northern Hemisphere. Winters were more pronounced, and the summers were unconvincing at best.

"We will see it from 2020 to 2053, when the three next cycles will be vert reduced magnetic field of the sun. Basically what happens is these two waves, they separate into the opposite hemispheres and they will not be interacting with each other, which means that resulting magnetic field will drop dramatically nearly to zero. And this will be a similar conditions like in Maunder Minimum," she said. [Sic]

The towering symbols of a fading religion, over 14,000 wind turbines, abandoned, rusting, slowly decaying. When it is time to clean up after a failed idea, no green environmentalists are to be found. Wind was free, natural, harnessing Earth’s bounty for the benefit of all mankind, sounded like a good idea. Wind turbines, like solar panels, break down. They produce less energy before they break down than the energy it took to make them. The wind does not blow all the time, or even most of the time. When it is not blowing, they require full-time backup from conventional power plants.

Without government subsidy, they are unaffordable. With governments facing financial troubles, the subsidies are unaffordable. It was a nice dream, a very expensive dream, but it didn’t work.

CLIMATE CHANGE SHOCK: Global warming happened LONG before man started burning fossil fuels

THE debate over man-made climate change has been turned upside down following the discovery there was a catastrophic Antarctic sea ice shrinkage more than 100,000 years ago... when mankind was still in loin cloths.

The newly discovered naturally-caused warm spell 115,00 to 130,000 years ago has given support to the claim global warming can happen without man's interference, according to sceptics of human-caused climate change.

However, those campaigning for more to be done to limit carbon emissions to prevent future global warming are also using the new research in support of their case.

Winter sea ice around Antarctica shrank 65 per cent in a natural warm period between Ice Ages about 128,000 years ago, when temperatures were slightly warmer than now, according to the new report in the journal Nature Communications.

Global Warming Extremists Try To Silence Science — Again

For the record, Zharkova isn't alone in her conclusions. Other recent studies, including ones found here and here, suggest the Sun is headed for a period of extremely low activity — which means, all other things being equal, lower temperatures for much of the Earth.

No, the problem isn't the science. The problem is such research is an uncomfortable impediment of the global warming complex's unholy alliance of green interest groups, clueless movie stars, bought-and-paid-for scientists, big government politicians, and even some major corporations that see new global warming regulations as an easy way to crush their smaller competitors.

With global governments spending billions of dollars a year on climate change, almost all of it on those who believe the global warming dogma, there's too much at stake to allow a heretic to question the orthodoxy. That's why Zharkova and others are greeted with unscientific hostility.

How the World was Deceived about Global Warming and Climate Change

Current weather is normal; that is, it is well within the range of all previous weather and climate variations. There are no dramatic increases in temperature, precipitation, hurricanes, tornadoes, or any other severe weather. The climate is changing just as it always has and always will and the rate of change is perfectly normal. Of course, that is not what the government, environmentalists, or the media promote and as a result most of the public believe. The misconception is deliberate and central to the exploitation of global warming and climate change as the vehicle for a political agenda.

Study: West Antarctic – Poster Child of Global Warming – is Getting Colder

The West Antarctic has become yet another victim of global cooling.
According to the latest study, in Nature, it has experienced

“an absence of regional warming since the late 1990s”

“The annual mean temperature has decreased at a statistically significant rate, with the most rapid cooling during the Austral summer. Temperatures have decreased as a consequence of a greater frequency of cold, east-to-southeasterly winds, resulting from more cyclonic conditions in the northern Weddell Sea associated with a strengthening mid-latitude jet. These circulation changes have also increased the advection of sea ice towards the east coast of the peninsula, amplifying their effects.”

Global Warming Expedition Stopped In Its Tracks By Arctic Sea Ice

The Polar Ocean Challenge is taking a two month journey that will see them go from Bristol, Alaska, to Norway, then to Russia through the North East passage, back to Alaska through the North West passage, to Greenland and then ultimately back to Bristol. Their objective, as laid out by their website, was to demonstrate “that the Arctic sea ice coverage shrinks back so far now in the summer months that sea that was permanently locked up now can allow passage through.”

There has been one small hiccup thus-far though: they are currently stuck in Murmansk, Russia because there is too much ice blocking the North East passage the team said didn’t exist in summer months, according to Real Climate Science.

Real Climate Science also provides a graph showing that current Arctic temperatures — despite alarmist claims of the Arctic being hotter than ever — is actually below normal.

Winter storm warning issued for Southeast Alaska

Heavy snowfall was headed for Southeast Alaska Saturday night, and the National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning in anticipation of the region's first significant snowfall of the season.

Forecasters said a low pressure system moving across the Gulf of Alaska will push warm, moist air into the region and generate a powerful blizzard. The warning for Juneau, Petersburg, Wrangell and Hyder, which is more urgent than an advisory, will be in effect from midnight to 4 p.m. Sunday.

"During this 36-hour winter weather event, snowfall amounts ranging from 2 inches to as much as 18 inches are forecast," the weather service wrote on Facebook. "The high snowfall amounts could lead to snow removal issues and hazardous driving conditions."

Vermont AG sued for withholding records on possible investigation of ‘climate change deniers’

Vermont’s Attorney General is being sued for withholding public records related to a multi-state investigation of groups opposed to climate change policies.

On Monday, two nonprofit legal centers filed a lawsuit to force Attorney General William Sorrell and Assistant Attorney General Scott Kline to turn over documents from private email accounts that discuss climate change “deniers.”

The complaint, filed by attorneys for the Energy and Environment Legal Institute and Free Market Environmental Law Clinic, says a request for documents was made on May 10 but not responded to by the extended deadline of May 24 — the longest extension allowable under Vermont law.

James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger's New PSA: Stop Eating Meat In Order To Save Mother Earth

61-year-old Canadian filmmaker James Cameron is teaming up with gun-grabbing climate alarmist Arnold Schwarzenegger in an absurd attempt to convince people to not eat meat. This will save the environment and stop environmental degradation of mother earth, they claim. Eating meat is "Contributing to environmental degradation and greenhouse gasses," Cameron says. Arnold chimes in, "I am slowly getting off meat and I feel fantastic!" "Meat and dairy are not good for your body and they're not good for the environment!" Cameron adds. "If they tell you need meat to be strong? Don't buy it!" Arnold says, concluding with a somber recitation of the slogan "less meat. less heat. more life."

Rain, mountain snow to accompany push of cooler air across northwestern US into the weekend

Summer will take a brief hiatus across the northwestern United States as a storm system brings fall-like weather into early next week.

The jet stream will dive southward and allow for an unsettled and cooler weather pattern to set up and stick around for several days.

The jet stream is a narrow zone of strong winds in the upper levels of the atmosphere that guide storm systems and temperature patterns across the globe, with cooler air to the north and warmer air to the south.

UPDATE: Claim that jet stream crossing equator is ‘climate emergency’ is utter nonsense

Two bloggers have made a stunning claim that has spread like wildfire on the Internet: They say the Northern Hemisphere jet stream, the high-altitude river of winds that separates cold air from warm air, has done something new and outrageous. They say it has crossed the equator, joining the jet stream in the Southern Hemisphere. One said this signifies that the jet stream is ‘wrecked‘, the other said it means we have a “global climate emergency.”
But these shrill claims have no validity — air flow between the hemispheres occurs routinely. The claims are unsupported and unscientific, and they demonstrate the danger of wild assertions made by non-experts reaching and misleading the masses.

jet streams have merged, pinpointing the exact time when they touched each other as June 27 at 11 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time.

Is it Human caused or natural cycles??
In a YouTube video post, Beckwith explained that the warming Arctic from man-made climate change is slowing down the jet stream and making it wavier. He pointed out a few spots where the jet streams have merged, pinpointing the exact time when they touched each other as June 27 at 11 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time. Beckwith said we’ve lost the separation between the Northern and Southern Hemisphere jet streams and that if the trend continues it could lead to the equalization of the entire global temperature, reducing seasonality.

Why the sun going blank means a ‘Game of Thrones’-like winter is coming

You may not have noticed but our sun has gone as blank as a cue ball. As in, it’s lost its spots.

According to scientists, this unsettling phenomenon is a sign we are heading for a mini ice age.

Meteorologist and renowned sun-watcher Paul Dorian raised the alarm in his latest report, which has sparked a mild panic about an impending “Game of Thrones”-style winter not seen since the 17th century.

“For the second time this month, the sun has gone completely blank,” Dorian says.

Has climate change been disproved? Large Hadron boffins cast shock DOUBT on global warming

A study published this week in the journal Nature has looked more closely at the tiny particles within clouds, known as cloud seeds, that help cool the planet and found they can be produced naturally.

Clouds, including natural ones and those from aerosols, are seen by the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as the single biggest source of uncertainty about the so-called human-caused climate change.

The problem stems from not knowing how cloudy the world was before the industrial era, and the fact that some of the gases produced by burning fossil fuels said to warm the plant in the long-term, actually help cool it in the short-term through cloud formation.

But now CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, have left the issue even more confusing after discovering, while creating the fake cloud, that trees could have been putting these aerosols into the atmosphere since they first grew at the time of the dinosaurs.

A spotless sun: Incredible image shows solar activity at its quietest in 100 years - and some say it could trigger a mini ice age

During Solar Max, huge sunspots and intense solar flares are a daily occurrence. Auroras appear in Florida. Radiation storms knock out satellites.

The last such episode took place in the years around 2000-2001.

During Solar Minimum, the opposite occurs. Solar flares are almost non-existent while whole weeks go by without a single, tiny sunspot to break the monotony of the blank sun. This is what we are experiencing now.

The longest minimum on record, the Maunder Minimum of 1645-1715, lasted an incredible 70 years.

During this period, sunspots were rarely observed and the solar cycle seemed to have broken down completely.

The period of quiet coincided with the Little Ice Age, a series of extraordinarily bitter winters in Earth's northern hemisphere.

We may NEVER know if we are living in a computer simulation, warns Bill Nye

The question may have crossed your mind at some point – what if we are all living in a simulated reality, and everyone you know is just a character in a sophisticated video game?

Scientists and philosophers have long argued the idea, and in recent months, both Elon Musk and Neil deGrasse Tyson have suggested the likelihood of such a scenario is higher than you might think.

Now, Bill Nye has weighed in on the debate as well, and due to the complex nature of a simulated reality, he says we may never really know the truth.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It makes for great television (and even the movie The Thirteenth Floor) but are the characters in your computer games self-aware?

"F*ck Off Fascist" - One Man's Epic Response To The Mass. AG Over Subpoena On Climate Change

As we reported late last year, Exxon is directly in the crosshairs of a government push to punish those who deny climate change.

In addition to being investigated by the New York Attorney General, Exxon has been handed a subpoena by the AG of the US Virgin Islands, and also the Massachusetts AG Maura Healey - all of which are anchored in the claim that Exxon has lied to shareholders and consumers about the risks of global warming in its communications and shareholder filings.

Not everyone is standing by while the government attempts to punish those who disagree with its official policy stance however. Recall that Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX), Mike Lee (R-UT), Jeff Sessions (R-AL), David Vitter (R-LA) and David Perdue (R-GA) sent a letter to the United States Attorney General Loretta Lynch, demanding that these climate change witch hunts come to an end.

Why Mainstream Science is a Religion

Mainstream science, despite all its claims of objectivity, and despite the fact it attempts to lay claim to the truth, is itself a religion. Science places itself on a pedestal and assures everyone it has dispassionately arrived at its conclusions. Meanwhile, however, it is full of assumptions, denials and limitations, and makes the serious mistake of presenting its theories as facts. The errors of mainstream science are gladly seized upon by technocrats, eager to use science and technology to further their own ambitions of control, and include forcing the vaccine, GMO, surveillance, manmade global warming, geoengineering, SMART and microchipping agendas onto an unsuspecting public.

You are witness to one of the greatest frauds perpetrated on the people of planet Earth, to trick them out of their money and into obedience under the guise of the fight against Human-Caused Global Warming (now rebranded "Human Caused Climate Change" to explain away the icicles we were told were not going to happen). The global warming scare was concocted out of outright lies, purchased science, and scare mongering to trick you into being willing to pay carbon taxes to solve a non-existent crisis you were told was all your fault. And, of course, to lull you into accepting the dictates of a global government that needed to save the Earth from you icky-poo human beings.

It was all a lie. Here is how it happened.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Last Wednesday, even as NOAA was claiming that May was the hottest month on record, the Pacific Northwest was hit with winter storms and we even had snow fall here in Hawaii. Already the corporate media is filled with articles about why we should ignore the snow and trust the fancy charts and graphs provided for us by the US Government (the same US Government that told you Saddam had nuclear weapons). So, time for a repost of this article!
