14 out of 15 members of the Senate Intelligence Committee, including possible Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, have voted to declare WikiLeaks a “non-state hostile intelligence service.”

If implemented in Congress, the bill would open Julian Assange and the pro-transparency organisation to heightened state surveillance and potentially allow the US intelligence community to prosecute Americans who donate to or associate themselves with Wikileaks.

The bill does not offer any evidence to back up claims against the publisher, who themselves do not actively hack classified documents.

Assange still asserts that Wikileaks is a ‘multi-national media organisation’ and the decision of the Senate Intelligence Committee threatens the First Amendment rights of the free press. Wikileaks have never been charged with the crime of cyber espionage, which would be the obvious qualifier for implicating an organisation as a ‘hostile intelligence service’.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is all about control of information by our (alleged) government to such a degree that We the People never will have the opportunity to find out what is really happening with our government, and therefore will be incapable of making sound choices about what direction that government should be taking to best serve our interests and concerns.

This is a blatant attempt to destroy the the First Amendment, and weaponise language to the liking of those who would manipulate information to push their own

Remember, when President Bush lied about Saddam Hussein allegedly having "weapons of mass destruction", as the false trigger for a war against Iraq, when the real goal was the control of its oil, and insuring that its oil was only sold for US dollars ?!?

You can expect one hell of a lot more of these kinds of lies, to goad this country into more wars, should this legislation get passed.

And should it get passed, I hope it gets appealed all the way to the Supreme Court, and fails there miserably.

America tests 'the most dangerous nuclear bomb ever produced': F-15 drops $1trillion super-nuke that has an adjustable yield and is more accurate than ever

An F-15E from Nellis Air Force Base dropped an inert version of the B61-12 over the Nevada desert earlier this month after its first test in March

B61-12 gravity bombs, without a nuclear warhead, were dropped from F-15E fighter jets at Tonopah Test Range in Nevada on August 8

The mock bomb landed in a dry lake bed at the Tonopah Test Range

Scientists will spend months analyzing the data gathered from the test
B61-12 consolidates and replaces older versions in the nation's nuclear arsenal

The bomb is described as the most dangerous nuclear device ever produced because its yeild can be adjusted between the equivalent of 50,000 tons and 300 tons of TNT. It is also more accurate than ever.

It is important to note that TYT has reported on some hard-hitting stories and exposed serious problems within the state, and Uygur was unafraid of calling out corruption—so much so that he quit his job at MSNBC to work on the media project. However, once we start following the recent money, we can see a telling revelation begin to unfold.

The funding comes from a number of sources, so let’s take a look at these entities and the people behind them to better understand the agenda at play.

The main conduit for the funding is a newly created growth equity fund called 3L Capital, with additional financial backing from venture capital groups Greycroft Partners,, and WndrCo. — which was recently launched by Hollywood mogul Jefferey Katzenberg.

Crosby, Texas, Chemical Plant Explodes Twice, Arkema Group Says

Two explosions shook a flooded chemical plant near Houston early Thursday, sending a plume of black smoke into the air and triggering an intense fire that continues to burn.

Authorities warned that further blasts were likely to occur on site since chemicals weren't being stored at the appropriate temperatures after the facility lost power following Hurricane Harvey.

Residents in a 1.5-mile radius of the Arkema Inc. plant were first evacuated Tuesday, and the water levels there remain too dangerous for workers to assess the situation from the ground, officials added.

"That's why we want people to respect [the] radius. It's not over. This is very serious and we know that," Richard Rennard, of Arkema Group, said at a news conference.

He added that the explosions were not massive, and that the pressure building up inside the containers where the chemicals are located eventually produces a "popping sound."

Jury finds Idaho State Police retaliated against crash investigator, awards him $1.5M

After nearly three years of legal wrangling and a nine-day trial, the Ada County jury was unanimous: Idaho State Police retaliated against detective Brandon Eller for concerns he raised over a fatal crash investigation years ago. The jury late Tuesday awarded Brandon Eller $1.5 million in damages and $30,500 in lost wages. After about five hours of deliberation, the jury came back unanimous on all three of Eller’s claims: whistleblower act violations, negligent infliction of emotional distress, and willful and reckless conduct. “Brandon is overwhelmed. It will take awhile to sink in,” his attorney, Erika Birch, told the Statesman on Tuesday evening. “Everyone on his team just is feeling so blessed that finally he was able to tell the whole story and have a jury listen to it and respond in the way that they did.

A jury awarded an Idaho State Police detective more than $1.5 million in damages Tuesday, signaling jurors believed his claim that ISP commanders intentionally tanked his career goals and his reputation after he refused to go along with their explanation of a fatal crash involving a deputy. Brandon Eller said he was targeted after crash reconstructionists were ordered to change a report that concluded Payette County Deputy Scott Sloan was driving recklessly and made an unsafe pass before he slammed into another motorist on Highway 30 in 2011. Barry Johnson of New Plymouth was turning into his own driveway when Sloan – who was responding to a call at speeds of about 115 mph with his lights and siren on --smashed into the side of his Jeep.

On or around October 2, the US federal government will shut down – again. The actual date could be a bit earlier or later, depending on how the government’s cash flows. Technically, the government should have shut down on March 15, 2017. That was the date that a congressionally approved temporary extension of the debt ceiling expired. So on that date, the amount of debt on the books ($19.808 trillion) became the new debt ceiling. Since then, the Treasury hasn’t been able to issue any more federal debt.

When politicians are feeling the heat, they start a war and their popularity goes up even if the war is unnecessary or completely ridiculous. The Senate Intelligence Committee is pushing Congress to label WikiLeaks a “non-state hostile intelligence service,” having adopted that very position in the Intelligence Authorization Act (IAA) it approved last month. The terminology used in the bill originates from a speech given in April by CIA director Mike Pompeo, who called the pro-transparency media organization a “non-state hostile intelligence service often abetted” by “hostile” nations.

WikiLeaks’ editor-in-chief, Julian Assange, has slammed the Senate bill as an attempt to legislate what he termed the “Pompeo doctrine.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, but a logical question must be asked here; what specific, documented, and credible evidence does the US Senate Intelligence Committee have regarding Russia having allegedly tampered with the 2016 elections?!?

The short answer is: none.

And there is a second logical question which needs also to be asked: when, ever, has Wickileaks lied about any of the information it made public?!?

The short answer is, never.

This bill is not about the truth that Wickileaks has shared with the public, or alleged "Russian meddling" in the 2016 elections, which cannot, to date, be documented: it is about the degree to which Wickileaks has embarrassed those in the Bowels in Power in DC, who now want to seek the most severe retribution for Wikileaks' unwavering honesty that it possibly can.

IF this bill gets passed, any defender of free speech, or actually telling the documented truth, is fair game for massive government prosecution, including Christian pacifist activists like me, who never advocate violence, and constantly exhort their government to resolve their geopolitical disputes through hard-won, moral negotiations, rather than through war.

This bill, should it be passed, constitutes a two-front war, against both free speech and government accountability, at an unparalleled level.

To all of Rivero's Rangers out there: please call, email, text, or write to your (alleged) Senators, and tell them that if they vote this bill through, that you can never, in good conscience, vote for them ever again: it is just that simple.

US troops in SyriaAmerican troops deployed in Syria have exchanged fire with rebels that were until recently supported by the United States Central Intelligence Agency. In 2013, soon after the outbreak of the Syrian Civil War, the then-US President Barack Obama instructed the Central Intelligence Agency to provide covert support to fighters in Syria. Acting on the president’s directive, the CIA promptly joined forces with spy agencies from Britain, France, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, to assist fighters affiliated with the Free Syrian Army. At that time, Washington saw the Free Syrian Army and forces affiliated with it as ideologically moderate. It also agreed with the group’s main aim, which was to topple the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

How the Red Cross Raised Half a Billion Dollars for Haiti and Built Six Homes

In late 2011, the Red Cross launched a multimillion-dollar project to transform the desperately poor area, which was hit hard by the earthquake that struck Haiti the year before. The main focus of the project — called LAMIKA, an acronym in Creole for “A Better Life in My Neighborhood” — was building hundreds of permanent homes.

Today, not one home has been built in Campeche. Many residents live in shacks made of rusty sheet metal, without access to drinkable water, electricity or basic sanitation. When it rains, their homes flood and residents bail out mud and water.

The Red Cross received an outpouring of donations after the quake, nearly half a billion dollars.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is the reason I can never, ever donate to the Red Cross ever again, this lifetime.

Oh, and the Clintons certainly had their "hands in the till" in terms of defrauding both donors, and the Haitian people, after that earthquake, which devastated the island nation:

A federal agency rushed to approve funding for a Clinton donor’s sham Haiti recovery project that ended up defrauding the U.S. government out of millions, according to court transcripts and internal government documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. Miami businessman Claudio Osorio, who is currently serving 12 years in federal prison on fraud charges, leveraged his relationship with Bill and Hillary Clinton to help his company InnoVida obtain a $10 million loan from the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) for a Haiti housing project in 2010. OPIC is an independent government agency that submits its annual budget requests through the State Department and works closely with the agency. Bill Clinton helped arrange for a high-powered Florida law firm to represent Osorio during loan negotiations with OPIC, according to court testimony. An internal OPIC memo said Hillary Clinton was prepared to marshal State Department resources to assist with the donor’s project. InnoVida was supposed to use the funding to build houses in Haiti after the earthquake, but it defaulted on the loan and the homes were never built. After InnoVida went bankrupt in 2011, a court-appointed investigator said it appeared that over $30 million of its funds had been diverted to foreign bank accounts and were not retrievable.

Typical Clintonista behaviour, nothing new here!

FBI shuts down request for files on Hillary Clinton by citing lack of public interest

The FBI is declining to turn over files related to its investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails by arguing a lack of public interest in the matter.

Ty Clevenger, an attorney in New York City, filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request in March of 2016 asking for a variety of documents from the FBI and the Justice Department, including correspondence exchanged with Congress about the Clinton email investigation.

Netanyahu uses fake “ancient” coin to justify settlements in West Bank

Numerous media outlets reported last week on the find of a rare 2,000-year-old half-shekel coin by an eight-year-old girl, Hallel Halevy, in the Israeli illegal settlement of Halamish in the West Bank.

The find excited many Israelis who argued it provided evidence of the historical Jewish connection to the West Bank, usually referred to as Judea and Samaria by Israelis.

Among those lauding the find, Netanyahu claimed in a Facebook post that “the "2,000-year-old silver coin" was used during the Second Temple period in Jewish history which lasted between 530 BCE and 70 CE.

“This exciting discovery is additional evidence of the deep connection between the people of Israel and its land – to Jerusalem, to our temple, and to the communities in Judea and Samaria,” Netanyahu wrote in his post.

FBI says lack of public interest in Hillary emails justifies withholding documents

Hillary Clinton’s case isn’t interesting enough to the public to justify releasing the FBI’s files on her, the bureau said this week in rejecting an open-records request by a lawyer seeking to have the former secretary of state punished for perjury.

Ty Clevenger, the lawyer, has been trying to get Mrs. Clinton and her personal lawyers disbarred for their handling of her official emails during her time as secretary of state. He’s met with resistance among lawyers, and now his request for information from the FBI’s files has been shot down.

“You have not sufficiently demonstrated that the public’s interest in disclosure outweighs personal privacy interests of the subject,” FBI records management section chief David M. Hardy told Mr. Clevenger in a letter Monday.

The Saudi-Led Coalition’s ‘Weaponization of Disease’. Yemen’s Cholera Epidemic

The vast majority of deaths from Yemen’s cholera epidemic occur in rebel-held areas on account of the attacks by the Saudi-led coalition on health centers and infrastructure and because of the coalition blockade:

Dr Homer Venters, director of programmes for the research group Physicians for Human Rights, told Al Jazeera that coalition hits on clinics and sewage works were a Saudi “tactic of war” that amounted to the “weaponisation of disease”. [bold mine-DL]

Coalition attacks and a blockade on fuel and other supplies have left civilians in Houthi areas more vulnerable to cholera, and less able to get antibiotics and other life-saving help than those in other parts of the Arab world’s poorest nation, he said.

“Aside from the devastation from air strikes on hospitals and clinics, the health emergency in Yemen has been made significantly worse by Saudi restrictions on petrol imports, leaving the remaining health centres without power,” Venters said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

All the war crimes in which the US government is complicit with the Saudis in Yemen, does't make me " proud to be an American citizen" it angers and disgusts me, and makes me think seriously about getting out of this country while it is still possible. Unfortunately, Mike and I are too old- and broke - to see this happen.

And yet, both the US command there; the Saudi government, and the House of Saud all seem perfectly morally comfortable with the assassination of children, women, and the medically infirm; using starvation as a tool to cow the people of Yemen into total surrender; the use of DU weapons; and the use of white phosphorous against non-combatants.

Russia orders MASS EVACUATION over North Korea missile launch

Russian civil defence officials were reportedly ordered to shift residents in the country's far east to "safe areas" in a extraordinary move amid fears of a worldwide conflict.

North Korea angered the international community by launching a missile that flew directly over Japan.

In response, US President Donald Trump threatened the communist state with military action, warning "all options are on the table".

As Trump reeled from the provocative test, thousands of people from the city of Vladivostok were moved as part of an emergency operation.

Russia President Vladimir Putin fears the US may wage war against the secretive state after Trump threatened to unleash "fire and fury" should it fire more missiles.

Myanmar army battles Rohingya insurgents; thousands flee

- Myanmar security forces intensified operations against Rohingya insurgents on Monday, police and other sources said, following three days of clashes with militants in the worst violence involving Myanmar’s Muslim minority in five years.

The fighting - triggered by coordinated attacks on Friday by insurgents wielding sticks, knives and crude bombs on 30 police posts and an army base - has killed 104 people and led to the flight of large numbers of Muslim Rohingya and Buddhist civilians from the northern part of Rakhine state.

U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is deeply concerned by reports that civilians have been killed in Rakhine state and appealed for neighboring Bangladesh to allow fleeing Rohingya to seek safety, his spokesman said on Monday.

US Intel Officials Resist Trump’s Push to Claim Iran ‘Violates’ Nuclear Deal

Reports out of the US intelligence community suggest that President Trump’s cabinet push to declare Iran in violation of the P5+1 nuclear deal has expanded into pressure against intelligence analysts themselves to try to invent some sort of justification for the claim Trump desperately wants to make.

At the same time, officials say that the beating the intelligence community took for its role in lying the US into war in 2003 is informing its decision on the matter, and that many are very resistant to letting their assessments become politicized.

Former CIA analyst Ned Price was very frank about the matter, saying “they told me there was a sense of revulsion. There was a sense of deja vu. There was a sense of ‘we’ve seen this movie before’.” Other officials suggested Trump made his conclusion first and is now trying to get the intelligence community to find evidence to back it up.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Good on the intel people, standing their ground in this instance.

But the deeper problem, here, is this; every bit of info and intel President Trump has on Iran is coloured by the deep and unrelenting prejudices of AIPAC; the Saudis, Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu; and the Neocons, who are itching to invade Iran in order to control its oil pipelines.

But Mr. President, if I may please have word here?!?

Invading Iran, most probably on another false flag/lie, is going to greatly alienate your base, because during your campaign, you swore to the American people that you would disengage from using war as your only plausible weapon with which to resolve this country's geopolitical challenges.

Such a move would completely void that promise; and you are dealing with a VERY war-weary, war-skeptical country.

And sir, there's that added bit of Russia having promised Iran that should it be invaded, Russia will come to its aid militarily.

Do the risk/benefit assessments on such a war, coming from the Pentagon, even mention this well-known fact?!?

And sir, war against Russia over Iran is a really, really bad decision to be making right now; and I say that both as a person who does care greatly for this country, and someone who has to blurt out what I strongly believe to be the truth: at this moment in its history, the US military does not have the troop strength; the weaponry; the money, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war with Russia.

I hope and pray that your trinity of "President Whisperers", consisting of Mattis, Mc Masters, and Kelly, are giving you straight answers on these issues.

Also, to accuse Iran of violating the P5+1 agreement, when the IAEA demonstrably concludes that they have not, will make this country look like the nether end of a jaysap in the eyes of the world, just to get a war going to control their pipelines, and make your BFF, Israel's Netanyahu, happy.

Of course, Tel Aviv has always been shilling for regime change in Tehran; but only if the costs are borne in American blood, and with American money.

Four Multinational Battlegroups in Baltic States 'Fully Operational' - NATO

NATO's four multinational battlegroups in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland are fully operational and represent a "defensive and proportionate deterrent force," the alliance said in a statement on Monday.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — It was stated that establishment of these multinational troops was a part of the alliance's policy to boost its military presence in Eastern Europe, adopted at the 2016 Warsaw Summit.

"NATO’s four multinational battlegroups in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland are now fully operational. This milestone comes after the Canadian-led battlegroup based at Camp Adazi in Latvia became the fourth battlegroup to complete its Certification Exercise," the press release read.

According to the statement, the battlegroups in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Poland are led by Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States respectively.

The storm is expected to move back into the Gulf of Mexico, recharge, and dump more rain onto Houston by Wednesday. Fifty inches of rain are expected in some areas by the end of the week.

Already the storm has killed six people, rendered thousands homeless, and trapped 7 million people, one-quarter of Texas’ population, in a federally designated disaster area.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Lousy infrastructure, lack of planning, and a general complacency on the part of State and local officials, have led Houstonians to this point of collapse, where many of them will not only lose loved ones, but also everything they have ever owned.

The picture at the top of this article says it all: homeless, and hopeless.

There is such a thing as flood insurance, and it can be purchased from many insurance brokers in this country; but people have to have the horse-sense to realize that when you live in a flat, flood-prone area, you need this, even if they are in no immediate danger.

“If there is any principle of the Constitution that more imperatively calls for attachment than any other, it is the principle of free thought — not free thought for those who agree with us but freedom for the thought that we hate.”— Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes

There was a time in this country, back when the British were running things, that if you spoke your mind and it ticked off the wrong people, you’d soon find yourself in jail for offending the king.

Reacting to this injustice, when it was time to write the Constitution, America’s founders argued for a Bill of Rights, of which the First Amendment protects the right to free speech. James Madison, the father of the Constitution, was very clear about the fact that he wrote the First Amendment to protect the minority against the majority.

What Madison meant by minority is “offensive speech.”

There is little new in this story. The 9/11 atrocity was the first of many terrorist attacks, each succeeded by the dramatic extension of draconian state powers at the expense of civil liberties, backed up with the projection of military force in regions identified as hotspots harbouring terrorists. Yet there is little indication that this tried and tested formula has done anything to reduce the danger. If anything, we appear to be locked into a deepening cycle of violence with no clear end in sight.

16 years since the Bush administration launched its military intervention in Afghanistan, President Trump has announced his intention to increase the U.S. military presence in the country. As Statista's Niall McCarthy notes, there are approximately 8,400 U.S. troops on the ground in Afghanistan and reinforcements could start arriving within days. Trump's new strategy is set to extend the longest war in U.S. history and add even further to its already staggering cost.

Website "The Balance" has been keeping track of Afghanistan's economic impact and the conflict has now cost the U.S. at least $1.07 trillion since 2001.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF the Taliban could evolve from a paramilitary organisation into a political one, and engage with the standing government in Kabul, that would, perhaps, be a hopeful direction; I am, however, not holding my breath quite yet, that it is actually possible right now.

President Trump has had his foreign policy hands and feet tied by the Russia (and Iran) Sanctions Act.

He now has been rendered “helpless”: in respect to détente with Russia — gulliverized, spitefully, by his own party, working with the Democrats, to empty Trump’s constitutional prerogatives in foreign policy – and to seize them for Congress.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I must offer a caveat that I hope and pray that I am dead wrong in the following scenarios.

However, that being said, just in case you were not aware, there has been a soft coup in the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America, and the junta now running the show are Mc Masters, Mattis, and Kelly, all former military.

Look for massive increases in wars, and the US military's commitment to them (as we are now observing in Afghanistan, with the allegedly "new serge"); against Iran; (Israel's favorite whipping post in the Middle East); more war crimes in Yemen, courtesy of collusion with the Saudis there; and against North Korea, China; and Russia.

These wars, in the larger scheme of things , will be waged to prevent the further ascendancy of the Yuan and the Ruble in international currency markets; control of rare earth elements necessary for manufacturing processes; control the oil pipelines, and insure that the oil is only sold to countries which are western-centric, and only for the US dollar.

Look for a return to the draft in this country, coming for both our young men as well as our young women; and if there is much more rioting in the streets, look for a suspension of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, and the imposition of martial law.

I sincerely wish I could see a trajectory totally different from that which I have just described; but looking at the destruction and crumbling of US infrastructure, which is very much evidenced in the horrific damage caused by Harvey in Texas and Louisiana; the grinding into poverty of what used to be the American Middle Class through offshoring and outsourcing; the fragility of our financial system, coupled with strangling Federal debt, I just cannot see it right now.

The only suggestions I can offer at this point are simple, and common-sense.

Make certain you have long-term, storable food, potable water, and extra medications for yourselves, and your pets. Have a plan to meet with family, and bug out, if this is necessary.

If you have kids in school, find out what the school's policy is on releasing a child to their parents at a time which is not the regular dismissal time. IF there is a national crisis of some kind, some schools may well be locked down.

Get personal protection for yourselves and your loved ones with which you feel comfortable; because when the excrement hits the ventilation system, looters will be out in force to see what they can steal from you, again as witnessed by the flooding, and subsequent looting, in Huston over the last several days.

Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures host Maria Bartiromo had former Utah representative Jason Chaffetz on her show to discuss several issues including the arrest of former DNC char, Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s “IT consultant” Imran Awan.

Chaffetz made the stunning claim that federal agents were watching Imran Awan for months before his arrest, which means that this scandal is much bigger and deeper than the bank fraud charges for which Awan is currently charged with.

The Duran reported…

Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s IT specialist could very well bring down the entire fake news Russia story that Hillary Clinton and her campaign staff put together in the run up to their election defeat to Donald Trump.

This would explain why this Pakistani “hacker”, who is now under arrest for bank fraud charges while attempting to flee the United States, has been curiously blessed with high powered Clinton attorneys.

The rapidly growing scandal is seeing zero airtime on mainstream media.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Think: coverup so huge that it could take down the entire mechanism of the United States government with it.

Israelis defy authorities and fight against corruption and for right to protest

"For 40 weeks now, Israelis have been demonstrating in the city of Petach Tikvah to demand a thorough investigation into corruption, especially concerning the prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu.

"The protests started in earnest in July 2016 outside the home of the attorney-general, Avichai Mandelblit. At that time, they consisted of a handful of protesters demanding that he does a better job than his predecessor, Yehuda Weinstein, especially in regard to attorney Ruth David, who has been accused of a number of crimes...">>

MSM Claims UN “Member States” Intercepted North Korean Shipment of Chemical Weapons To Syria

By Brandon Turbeville

The latest round of fearmongering and propaganda against the Syrian government is now dovetailing with the latest round of fearmongering and propaganda against North Korea. It seems the corporate media and the Western governments for which it speaks have now decided to go for a two-fer when drumming up justifications for more war in Syria and a new war with North Korea.

This time, the narrative is that North Korea is shipping chemical weapons and other types of weaponry to Syria in violation of Western dictates...
