BUNKERVILLE STANDOFF UPDATE:  Eric Parker and Scott Drexler are free and back home in Idaho

After meeting pretrial release conditions, Eric Parker and Scott Drexler made it back home by Friday.

Andrea Parker posted photos on Facebook of her husband at home with their children.

The jury found them not guilty on most charges last Tuesday and was hung on others (four for Parker, two for Drexler) but likely with 11 jurors considering them not guilty. Ricky Lovelien and Steven Stewart were found not guilty on all ten charges against them and were immediately released to freedom.

Acting US Attorney Steven Myhre in Las Vegas is the lead prosecutor in the Bunkerville Standoff case and he told US District Judge Gloria Navarro that he intends to retry Parker and Drexler for a third time on September 25th.

Anarchy in Berkeley: A hundred black-clad antifascists with 'no hate' signs storm rally, pepper spray leader of conservative Patriot Prayer group and clash with cops

Violence has broken out between left- and right-wing protesters, after more than 100 black-clad masked antifa broke through police barricades at a 'Rally Against Hate' and assaulted at least four, including the leader of a pro-Trump conservative group.

At least ten arrests were made on Sunday in Berkeley, California after the left-wing 'Rally Against Hate' confronted a handful of right-wing protesters at a 'No To Marxism In America' rally. Antifa is short for 'anti-fascists'.

The arrest charges in the skirmishes at Civic Center Park were various but included assault and violating a prohibition on wearing masks, KCRA reported.

Army to release water from 2 Houston reservoirs, flooding nearby homes

The US Army is beginning to release water from two Houston reservoirs which have risen too quickly as a result of Tropical Storm Harvey. The move will cause flooding to nearby homes.

The water is being released from the Addicks and Barker dams into Buffalo Bayou, the main body of water running through Houston.

The move is necessary in order to prevent uncontrolled water flowing from the dams, the US Army Corps of Engineers said in a statement.

Hurricane Harvey PREPPER REPORT: Sh#t just got REAL

Local towns are experiencing so much flooding that some are cutting off municipal water supplies.

This is on top of the power grid outages, cell phone outages, store closures and widespread road closures that have taken place here in the last 12 hours.

For the time being, everyone is on their own, with little available outside help. I've seen tweets of people pleading to be rescued as their homes flood, and those are the lucky ones who still have bandwidth access. Many people are completely cut off with no services at all: No electricity, no municipal water, no 911 response services, etc.

Hurricane Harvey is a strong reminder that prepping is the best insurance you can buy.

Why Wasn’t Houston Evacuated Before Hurricane Harvey?

Why wasn’t Houston evacuated? Why wasn’t there a mandatory evacuation order for the city? Who’s to blame?

Those are questions people are asking as horrific images circulated of the dire flooding in the city. People begged for help from rooftops, a man was rescued from a partially submerged semi truck, and families pleaded for rescue on social media. One woman reportedly went into labor waiting for help but eventually made it to a hospital. A man’s living room was so flooded he caught a large fish in it, and in nearby Dickinson, seniors were photographed sitting up to their waists in water in a nursing home. You can read some of those accounts here.

THE CURRENT PHASE of the decades-long U.S.-North Korea standoff began this past July 4, when North Korea launched its first genuine intercontinental ballistic missile. In a statement, North Korea’s dictator Kim Jong-un called it “a gift for the American bastards.”

Meanwhile, North Korea explained that it was examining its options “for making an enveloping fire at the areas around Guam,” a U.S. territory. Kim later walked this peculiar provocation back, at least for the moment.

But here’s what you don’t know, unless you’re an obsessive North Korea-watcher:

Also starting on July 4, North Korea has been saying over and over again that it might put its nuclear weapons and missiles on the negotiating table if the United States would end its own threatening posture.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There was a South American Cardinal (who got assassinated) who made the powerful claim that Americans were among the most lied-to people on earth; unfortunately, the guy was absolutely right, in his assessment here.

There are many, in the US deep-state, bowels of power, in the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America, who want see such a war go forward, no matter how many millions of North and South Koreans die in the process.

This would be an invitation to a total catastrophe, should China join the fight on North Korea's side, because at this point in its history, the US military doesn't have the weaponry, the troop strength, the manufacturing, or the money to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war against China.

The logical thing to do here, is to get North Korean, South Korean, US, and Chinese diplomats, working together, to craft a true peace accord for North Korea, guaranteeing unrestricted, unsanctioned trade, with the proviso that North Korea would stop its nuclear weapons program as the trade off.

But as I said earlier; that...would be logical.

Nuclear Worker: “Imminent flood coming” near nuke plant from Hurricane Harvey…

Canadian engineer Raihan Khondker said his family safely left their home in southeastern Texas, but he was forced to return to the Bay City area as part of a support team at a nuclear power plant. For three days, Khondker, who is from Toronto, has been working tirelessly to manage “one thing after another,” driving through water-choked streets to bring supplies to engineers at the plant who are running out of food. Khondker said houses in his neighbourhood have been turned “upside down,” and rising waters in a nearby river threatens to send a potentially catastrophic flood into the area. “Every single creek in the neighbourhood is full,” he said. “There is an imminent flood coming to Bay City, we just don’t know how much water we are going to see.”

Pakistan FM: Afghan Troops Sell US Arms to Taliban

While US officials continue to blame the Pakistani government for the enduring Taliban opposition to their Afghan occupation, Pakistan has been increasingly firing back regarding US missteps, and the impact those have had on the Pakistani side of the border.

So while US officials argue that the Pakistani government is providing “safe haven” for the Taliban, Pakistani Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif today noted that throughout the 16-year US war, Afghan soldiers have been routinely selling US-provided arms to the Taliban.

This has been a recurring problem in the Afghan War, as the Taliban really are awash in US arms, both a product of sales from corrupt Afghan soldiers, and of Taliban looting of Afghan police checkpoints and making off with entire armories.

Many residents have turned to social media with heart-breaking pleas for help as the Houston police department asked any civilians with boats to join them and assist with the more than 6,000 calls for rescues.

US Raid Killed Civilians, Not Militants: Somalia Army Chief

A Friday morning raid by US and Somali troops in Barire village left at least 10 civilians dead, including three children. This incident was initially reported by the deputy governor of the region, and confirmed over the weekend by Somalia’s Army Chief.

Army Chief Ahmed Jimale Gedi told reporters he was “shocked” by the incident, and attributed it to distrust on both sides. The Somali government had formally dismissed the report Friday, claiming everyone slain was al-Shabaab militants.

The government’s refusal to admit what happened is an ongoing problem, with the provincial deputy governor confirming that the families have placed the bodies of the slain in storage, and are refusing to bury them until the national government admits what happened and agrees to pay compensation.

YouTube "Economically Censors" Ron Paul, Labels Videos "Not Suitable" For All Advertisers

Former US Congressman Ron Paul has joined a growing list of independent political journalists and commentators who’re being economically punished by YouTube despite producing videos that routinely receive hundreds of thousands of views.

In a tweet published Saturday, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange tweeted a screenshot of Paul’s “Liberty Report” page showing that his videos had been labeled “not suitable” for all advertisers by YouTube's content arbiters.

Rescuers pluck hundreds from rising floodwaters in Houston

Harvey sent devastating floods pouring into the nation’s fourth-largest city Sunday as rising water chased thousands of people to rooftops or higher ground and overwhelmed rescuers who could not keep up with the constant calls for help.

The incessant rain covered much of Houston in turbid, gray-green water and turned streets into rivers navigable only by boat. In a rescue effort that recalled the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, helicopters landed near flooded freeways, airboats buzzed across submerged neighborhoods and high-water vehicles plowed through water-logged intersections. Some people managed with kayaks or canoes or swam.

Trump expected to lift ban on military gear to local police forces

The Trump administration is preparing to lift a controversial ban on the transfer of some surplus military equipment to police departments whose battlefield-style response to rioting in a St. Louis suburb three years ago prompted a halt to the program.

The new plan, outlined in documents obtained by USA TODAY, would roll back an Obama administration executive order that blocked armored vehicles, large-caliber weapons, ammunition and other heavy equipment from being re-purposed from foreign battlefields to America's streets.

On Monday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions is scheduled to address the annual meeting of the Fraternal Order of Police, the nation's largest police union, and he may outline the program changes there.

Administration officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As America grapples with alleviating the opioid addiction crisis that killed more than 30,000 people in the country in 2015, the debate rages on over the best way to tackle the issue. One aspect many people can agree on, however, is the fact that doctors are overprescribing these dangerous drugs, spurring addictions that can eventually send patients to the street to get their next high once their prescription runs out.

Why are so many doctors prescribing these pills despite the dangers? The answer is simple: money. A study out of the Boston Medical Center’s Grayken Center for Addiction Medicine that was published in the American Journal of Public Health revealed that one out of every 12 American doctors has received at least one payment from an opioid pharmaceutical company. It was the first national, wide-scale study that focused specifically on opioid-related industry payments.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I had firsthand experience with this kind of practice.

A number of years ago, I had horrific, unexplained joint pain, that made simple walking, or playing my keyboard, completely impossible.

The pain could best be described as that of walking over broken glass, but the broken glass was not on the outside, but the inside of my hands and feet.

The podiatrists who were part of my HMO prescribed a drug for my pain. But this never actually worked all that well, and the pain persisted. When I finally went to my orthopedist, who had ex-rays taken, and said that he could find no physical basis for my pain, I remember coming home in tears, and saying to Mike "How do I pencil in the time to be a hypochondriac, please?!?"

Mike, being the wonderful husband he is, started checking on the net for what on earth was the culprit for my pain, and he - unlike my medical team- found the root core of the problem; I am violently allergic to formaldehyde precursors, which, in the US, are allowed to be put into a myriad of products, because it's a cheap preservative, and, theoretically only involves the outside of your body, but should not affect the interior. So we went around the house, looking at products, like scented soaps, and low-end cosmetics, with the offending chemicals, and threw them all out.

The next morning, it was like a switch had been thrown; I could walk, and play my keyboard absolutely without pain; it felt like a miracle had happened, but not one I could attribute to my physicians.

And the one test, that could have prevented this half-decade of agony... was somehow never ordered for me, and that was a test for chemical sensitivity.

I later learned that the drug company making the (alleged) pain killer I was taking was compensating physicians who prescribed this drug; and about 5 months after that, the podiatrists who I had been seeing were no longer on the website roster of my HMO.

So now, if I need to see a physician, and there is a prescription ordered, I have absolutely no shame in looking them straight in the eye, and asking them if they get compensated for proscribing the drug they have ordered for me, and letting them know I understand that the practice is quite common, for Big Pharma.

Clients of medical practitioners should have the right to know, and the absolute right to request a change in medication, if the medication prescribed (and potentially for which your doctors were financially compensated) absolutely doesn't work for them.!!

On Wednesday August 23rd, people gathered at the offices of the National Football League [NFL| in Manhattan NYC. By some accounts 3-4 thousand people attended. The rally was in support of quarterback, Colin Kaepernick who refused to stand for the Star Spangled Banner prior to the beginning of the football game but instead choose to kneel rather than pay homage to the flag that represents the racism which is so prevalent against the Black population in the United States, especially in the murder of Black people by police, a crime that goes unpunished. As a result of his doing this Kaepernick has not been picked as a team player on any of the NFL football teams for the coming season. At this point many other players are also ‘taking the knee’, including young people on college and high school teams.

After evolving into a Category 4 storm from a tropical depression in a few short days, Hurricane Harvey made landfall on Friday night near Rockford, Texas, where it stalled for hours, unleashing sustained winds of over 140 mph and torrential rain. As the storm inched inland, the slowly reducing intensity of Harvey meant that the decrease in wind speed came with a major increase in rainfall.

Overnight Saturday into Sunday morning, the worst case scenario rainfall projections appeared to be coming true. Houston and the surrounding areas were taking on water at a rate of 6 inches an hour with at least one fatality due to flooding in the city already confirmed. Catastrophic rainfall amounts are estimated to end up as high as 40 inches in some areas.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Let's hope and pray that a coordinated response from Federal and State Agencies will work here, to get people out of danger, and into safety and comfort.

Unfortunately, unless people have flood insurance, and their homes get wrecked with a huge amount of water damage, they will have lost everything with no money coming back to replace it.

In its article, “Syria: Arab Tribes Who Once Supported ISIS Turn to U.S. As Endgame Being In Raqqa,” Newsweek reports:

A top U.S. diplomat in the fight against the Islamic State militant group (ISIS) has praised recent talks with Syrian tribal leaders slated to play a large role in governing Raqqa once the jihadis are expelled.

But the plan to create a careful balance of local power on the ground in Raqqa that will likely see former ISIS-affiliated officials ultimately in charge could cause a split between the U.S. and its Kurdish allies.

What appears to be ill-conceived policy is in fact the United States providing direct military protection to the remnants of terrorist organizations operating in Syria it has supported, including fighters of the so-called “Islamic State.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is the mechanism through which the US military will be staying in Raqqa, and other portions of Syria, for a long time to come.

But I must ask: have Syria's President Bashir Al-Assad and Russia's President, Vladimir Putin gotten the memo yet?!?

Because this US occupation in Syria could well lead to a war against Russia, within Syria and beyond, at any moment.

In Defense of Lee And Jackson

Published: Thursday, August 24, 2017

Ever since the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, took place, memorials and statues of the great men of the Confederacy--along with the flags of the Confederacy--are being vandalized or taken down by municipal governments.

History revisionists flooded America's public schools with Northern propaganda about the people who attempted to secede from the United States, characterizing them as racists, extremists, radicals, hatemongers, and traitors.

More American Troops to Afghanistan, To Keep the Chinese Out? Lithium and the Battle for Afghanistan’s Mineral Riches

The US military bases are there to assert US control over Afghanistan’s mineral wealth. According to Foreign Affairs, “there are more U.S. military forces deployed there [Afghanistan] than to any other active combat zone”, the official mandate of which is “to go after” the Taliban, Al Qaeda and ISIS as part of the “Global war on Terrorism”.

Why so many military bases? Why the additional forces sent in by Trump?

The unspoken objective of US military presence in Afghanistan is to keep the Chinese out, i.e hinder China from establishing trade and investments relations with Afghanistan.

More generally, the establishment of military bases in Afghanistan on China’s Western border is part of a broader process of military encirclement of the People’s Republic of China.–i.e naval deployments in the South China sea, military facilities in Guam, South Korea, Okinawa, Jeju Island, etc. (see 2011 map below)

NATO says Russia should be transparent about its military drills

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Friday the alliance would closely watch Russian military exercises in western Russia and Belarus next month, urging Moscow to be transparent about the drills.

The maneuvers, the largest in years, with tanks, naval and air units operating in and around the Baltic and North Sea, have raised NATO’s concern that the official number of troops participating might be understated.

“We are going to be watching very closely the course of these exercises,” Stoltenberg told reporters after meeting Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydlo on a visit to check on the deployment of the U.S.-led alliance’s forces in the country’s east.

“All countries have the right to exercises of their armed forces, but the countries should also respect the obligation to be transparent.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Were I NATO'S Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, I would not be speaking of "Russian Transparency" in these drills, but rather on the issue of mutual cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Talking, then acting together, in accord, on these areas, will do far better to ratchet down tensions between Europe and Russia than an accusatory statement about the lack of transparency (whatever the heck that is) in Russia's military drills.

China says nothing will stop its long-range air force drills

No amount of interference or shadowing of its aircraft will stop the Chinese air force from carrying out long-range drills, the defense ministry said, announcing another round of exercises of the type that have unnerved neighbouring Taiwan and Japan.

The air force carried out further long-range exercises on Thursday, the ministry said, without giving details of where they happened. Japan said it was concerned about bombers flying close to its territory.

Such “normal” drills accord with international law and practices and are part of an “ordinary need” to raise combat abilities and strengthen the military, it added.

“No matter what obstructions are encountered, the Chinese air force will carry on as before; no matter who flies with us, the Chinese air force will fly a lot and as normal!” the ministry added, citing an air force spokesman.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Can one logically object to this, understanding that the US has been doing "freedom of Navigation" deployments in and around the South China Seas for some time now?!?

The short answer is, no!
