ON EVE OF ELECTION, NETANYAHU PROMISES NO PALESTINIAN STATE IF RE-ELECTED

On the eve of national elections in Israel, politically-embattled Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed that if he and his Likud Party were returned to power for another term he would make sure that an independent Palestinian state would not come into being. The comments come as a reversal of official Israeli government policy which, like the U.S. government, states that a two-state solution is the preferred outcome for the decades-long conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.

The neocon Washington Post, which wants to kill the talks aimed at constraining Iran’s nuclear program, allowed a contrary opinion of sorts onto its pages – a neocon who also wants to collapse the talks but is honest enough to say that the follow-up will be a U.S. war on Iran.

CIA WORKED WITH DOJ TO RE-PURPOSE FOREIGN SURVEILLANCE AIRBORNE CELL TOWER SPOOFERS FOR DOMESTIC USE

The CIA's recent rebranding as Valhalla for US cyberwarriors notwithstanding, the agency's general focus has been intelligence gathering on foreign governments, corporations and people. That it has often mistaken "torturing people into saying whatever they can to make it stop" for "intelligence gathering" isn't necessarily germane to the following discussion, but it's worth noting that the CIA is almost single-handedly responsible for destroying the term "extraordinary rendition" -- a formerly innocuous (and complimentary) term previously used to highlight something like, say, Johnny Cash's amazing cover of Soundgarden's' "Rusty Cage." (That Cash's two best covers are "Hurt" and "Rusty Cage" is not germane to the discussion of CIA torture programs, but what a coincidence!)

Merkel’s Uber-Hypocrisy to Japan over War Past… and Present

German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s reprimand last week to Japanese leaders to «face up to their wartime past» had an ironic twist that went scarcely noticed. The irony is that it is the German leader who actually stands accused of not facing up to her country’s wartime past. More sinisterly, her historical denial is manifested in actual present-day war-making in Ukraine, and it is furthering a dynamic that could lead to an all-out war with Russia because of baseless Western demonisation of Moscow. A demonisation that Merkel’s Germany is playing no small role in.

Did Ferguson PD Just Arrest the Wrong Guy?

When two officers with the Ferguson Police Department were shot last week, it was safe to assume that they would eventually get their man, even if it wasn’t really “their man.” For the most part, whenever the life of an authority figure is attempted in such a public way (especially if that attempt was successful), the police will always find someone to arrest. They have to.

They must always maintain the illusion that they have everything under control and that nobody can get away with such a crime. Nothing indicates a lack of control, quite like having a police officer ambushed and shot, so somebody has to pay no matter what.

Toy Guns in America: The 1950s Versus Today (Video)

Check out this old toy gun commercial from the 1950s or '60s and compare it to how children who play with toy guns (or even their own food or fingers fashioned like a gun) are treated today.

Do you think kids today are going to want to uphold their 2nd Amendment rights after they are terrorized and suspended or expelled by their schools for chewing a breakfast tart into an L-shape or being forced at age five to undergo a psych eval for bringing a Hello Kitty bubble gun to class? Even little kids playing with finger guns are considered a serious threat today.

Pedophilia in Britain ‘Woven into the Fabric of Society’

As the UK has launched a new-judge led inquiry panel to investigate a pedophile ring operated in 1980s, the Home Secretary warns the allegations are just a “tip of an iceberg” and the problem is “woven, covertly, into the fabric of our society.”

Following a spate of allegations concerning the abuse of children by adults, many of who abused their positions of power and status, Home Secretary Theresa May said Britons still do not appreciate the “true scale of that abuse.”

ORWELLIAN NIGHTMARE UNLEASHED ON SCHOOLKIDS

Rather than merely asking for a right or wrong answer to a math, history or science question, the new assessment industry is capable of boring into a child’s attitudes, values, opinions and beliefs, all of which parents and privacy advocates say is no business of the government’s.

The pushback has led some state education systems to recommend a reduction in the amount of high-stakes testing in public schools.

But, parents beware, the sudden realization that maybe too much testing is going on is not going to lead to less data being collected. Quite the opposite.

But what if your child’s teacher could have access to a software application that allows her to collect data on your child in real time, without ever rolling out a test?

Enter the BOSS app. It is just one of countless new data-collection products available to school systems looking to collect data on the sneak.

Pentagon denies UN investigator chance to interview Guantánamo detainees

Shortly after the Pentagon took a battery of pro-Guantánamo US senators for a tour of its infamous detention center, it confirmed that it will deny the United Nations’ torture investigator interviews with Guantánamo Bay detainees.

Juan Méndez, the UN’s special rapporteur on preventing torture, “has been invited to visit Guantánamo; however, he will not be permitted to interview detainees”,Army Lieutenant Colonel Myles Caggins, the Pentagon’s detentions spokesman, told the Guardian.

Méndez told reporters in Geneva last week that he had spurned what he considered hollow offers by the US to visit Guantánamo, citing unacceptable restrictions on his ability to examine the facility for himself.

“I am not allowed to have any unmonitored or even monitored conversations with any inmate in Guantánamo Bay,” Méndez said, according to AFP.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF everything was "above-board" at Gitmo, there would be no problem with Mendez having the ability to interview these prisoners of war.

So you have to ask yourselves; what is the Pentagon brass terrified that this guy is going to find here, and how much worse a picture of US "human rights" adherence in this prison will such an inspection demonstrate?!?

Is there concern that some of these men, who have been cleared of any wrongdoing, will never be released, because their bodies wear the scars of torture, trying to get them to confess to a narrative which never actually happened?!?

And as to the naso-gastric tube feedings; even in the hands of the most astute and compassionate medical practitioner, this can be a rough experience for the patient.

But in the hands of someone who wanted to use it as punishment?!?!? The pain can be extraordinary, with absolutely no relief, and the side effects can be devastating.

And if these guys were not radicalized when they were incarcerated at Guantanamo, they certainly are now, from the treatment they have received.

VIDEO: COP SHOOTS 8TH GRADE CHILD WITH TASER GUN FOR “BEING DISRUPTIVE

Think back to 8th grade: do you remember ever talking out loud or being “disruptive”?

Imagine if the punishment was an armed police officer approaching you and shooting you with a Taser gun, frying your nervous system with electrical voltage, for being “disruptive.”

That’s what happened at Powhatan Junior High School on Friday, according to reports.

An officer at the school shot an 8th grade student with a Taser gun for “being disruptive.”

The Powhatan Sheriff’s Department claims that it started when the student was “disruptive” in the cafeteria.

The student was then taken to the assistant principal’s office, where, they claim, the “disruptive” behavior continued.

An armed police officer stepped in and decided to try to place the student in handcuffs, but the student reacted by trying to flee, according to reports.

That’s when the officer pointed his Taser gun at the student and shot him as the student was running away from the officer.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, THIS is what passes for education in Virginia?!?

Were I a parent at this school, I would pull my kid out of that school immediately, and home-school.

The camera footage will tell the tale; but whatever happened to being able to talk to a kid coherently, and getting them to talk about what is making them angry?!?

IF education in this country is reduced to teaching to the test, coupled with the application of stun gun attacks, with no exposure to critical thinking and problem solving, this country's future is in deep jeopardy.

Hungary Holocaust Museum Gives Collaborators a Free Pass

Hungarian Jewish leaders are criticizing a new Holocaust museum under construction in Budapest for omitting the culpability of Hungarians in the attempted genocide of the Jews.
The museum in Budapest, called House of Fates, is nearly complete, but the planned exhibition focuses only on the last period of the Holocaust in Hungary, starting in 1944, when the ghettoization and deportation of over 500,000 Hungarian Jews was already complete. It fails to deal with the earlier persecution against Hungarian Jews, starting with the passage of anti-Jewish laws in the 1920s, local Jewish community leaders and historians complained. Community leaders said they were not consulted about the planned exhibition.

Israel Did Best To Limit Gaza Casualties, Report From Pro-Israel Group Asserts

Israel’s military went far beyond its legal obligation last summer during its Gaza operation to prevent civilian casualties, according to report by a panel of former senior U.S. military officials and legal experts.
The Gaza Conflict Task Force report, which was released Wednesday, was commissioned by the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs, or JINSA.

The report praised the Israel Defense Forces for its effort to limit civilian casualties, such as alerting residents in a targeted area through phone calls, leaflets and low impact explosives, but also emphasized that the United States and Israel should study the conflict in order to find a balance between mitigating civilian casualties and achieving mission objectives.

Genocide By Telepathy, Hilberg Explains

Seven months later Hilberg summarized his new thesis before an audience of nearly 2,700 at Avery Fischer Hall in New York City: the entire German policy for the physical destruction of the Jews was to be explained by mind reading! No document attesting to this criminal policy could be found, because no such document existed. For several years, the entire German bureaucratic machinery operated through a kind of telepathy. As Hilberg put it: Note 4

But what began in 1941 was a process of destruction not planned in advance, not organized centrally by any agency. There was no blueprint and there was no budget for destructive measures. They [these measures] were taken step by step, one step at a time. Thus came about not so much a plan being carried out, but an incredible meeting of minds, a consensus -- mind reading by a far-flung bureaucracy.

In law, in government, in the media, Jews have always been a loud and unapologetic voice for basic human rights such as free speech (arguably, in my opinion, the most fundamental human right). But when Jews feel threatened, and where the law allows (as in Canada and most of Europe), there has been a tendency to demand governmental protection in the form of laws that punish “hate speech.”

Governments are aware of what can be accomplished by invoking the word “terrorism.” The diplomacy-averse United States frequently hides behind the label, as it is prohibited by law from negotiating with groups so-labeled, and thereby avoids having to confront the possible legitimacy of what they represent. And it also justifies a uniformly violent response, which is invariably described as self-defense.

Former US ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton has attacked US President Barack Obama for planning to sign a “flawed” nuclear agreement with Iran.

Speaking at the South Carolina National Security Action Summit in West Columbia, SC, the potential 2016 Republican presidential candidate said the US president is negotiating “an unprecedented act of surrender” with Iran.

“This deal is fundamentally flawed,” he said on Saturday. “There really is no deal I’d trust Iran with.”

Bolton also defended 47 Republican senators, who sent a warning letter to Iran, claiming Obama’s possible nuclear agreement with Iran is a “mere executive agreement” that could be revoked “with the stroke of a pen and future Congresses could modify the terms of the agreement at any time.”

BOSTON — Using high-tech surveillance videos and photos, prosecutors in the Boston Marathon trial on Monday played an FBI montage that showed the determined footsteps of the Tsarnaev brothers weaving through cheering crowds and igniting two pressure-cooker bombs in one of the worst terror attacks in U.S. history.

The images, most never seen before, were culled from tens of thousands of images the FBI collected after the April 2013 blasts. In its Desperation, Scandal-Riddled Spanish Government Criminalizes Solidarity Among Citizens

On Tuesday, March 10, 19 Spanish citizens were rounded up in dawn raids by the Madrid police. They are accused of committing a crime against the Spanish state. That crime? Trying to prevent, through passive, non-violent resistance, the forced eviction of a local resident. If found guilty, the suspects could face crippling fines.

Welcome to Rajoy’s Spain, where helping out your neighbor in his or her hour of need is now an administrative crime.

A Not-So-Silent Tragedy

In most countries that have experienced foreclosure epidemics, the eviction of neighbors and local residents is usually a quiet, if not silent, tragedy. Often people don’t realize that their neighbors have gone until hours, days or even weeks have passed. Some may never even notice.

BEX Alert - War with Iran is probably our best option

The logical flaw in the indictment of a looming “very bad” nuclear deal with Iran that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered before Congress this month was his claim that we could secure a “good deal” by calling Iran’s bluff and imposing tougher sanctions. The Iranian regime that Netanyahu described so vividly — violent, rapacious, devious and redolent with hatred for Israel and the United States — is bound to continue its quest for nuclear weapons by refusing any “good deal” or by cheating. . .

. . . Does this mean that our only option is war? Yes, although an air campaign targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure would entail less need for boots on the ground than the war Obama is waging against the Islamic State, which poses far smaller a threat than Iran does.
