Facebook declares WAR on CHILDREN: Censors independent science that tries to protect infants from medical harm

As part of Facebook’s war against truth and reality, the social media Ministry of Truth just blocked 100 percent of all posts from Natural News, one of the internet’s most trafficked sites on independent science, natural medicine and disease prevention. Having attracted over 2.2 million Facebook likes over the last decade, Natural News is relied upon by millions of people for independent science and medicine reporting that blows the whistle on dangerous prescription medications, vaccine adverse events and toxic pesticides and herbicides.

Israeli army buying local cannons to sidestep international ban on cluster bombs

The Israeli army will soon put into use new artillery cannons purchased from local defense company Elbit rather than a German firm over concerns that the latter would restrict the cannons from firing cluster bombs.

The use of cluster bombs is banned by an international treaty signed by more than 100 countries, including Germany, because of the high rate of civilian casualties and injuries associated with them. According to a now-retired Israel Defense Forces officer familiar with the matter, Israel was concerned that the Germans would not give the army the “complete independence” it sought in the use of the cannons. In light of this, the Defense Ministry recommended purchasing Israeli cannons, without inviting bids.

The South Korean firm Hanwha Techwin was also approached but ultimately rejected because the cannons it manufactures are semi-automatic, while the Artillery Corps wants an automatic weapon that has a faster firing rate and requires a smaller team to operate.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When left unexploded, and infants or toddlers try to play with them, these cluster munitions will tear tiny children into shreds; but for the IDF, when it comes to Palestinian infants and toddlers, of course, that doesn't matter.

The Sly Effort to Criminalize the BDS Movement in the U.S.

What would you do if you were Palestinian? In 1998, Ehud Barak, then in the running to become Israel’s next prime minister, said that if he were a young Palestinian he “would have entered one of the terrorist organizations and fought from there”—a statement that became a flashpoint in the campaign (which Barak went on to to win). Of course the moral problems with killing innocents are obvious, which is one reason terrorism is seldom effective as a political tactic. Yet the fact that Barak’s candor didn’t sink his political career suggests an underlying Israeli understanding of why Palestinians fight to retain their land.

But if you don’t want to kill random Israelis, what avenues of struggle for Palestinian independence are available? In the occupied West Bank, peaceful protests against Israeli land seizures typically are met with tear gas, skunk spray, rubber bullets, and arrests. The United States generally shields Israel from UN criticism.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The BDS movement must be allowed to continue, because economic pressure is the only peaceful language Israelis understand.

Western Governments Still Eyeing Libyan ‘Prize’

More than six years after the US-led "liberation" of Libya, that North African country remains an open wound symbolizing the abject failure of US and European interventionist foreign policy.

The obsession of the US neocons, whether Democrat or Republican, for "regime change" and other frivolous foreign military interventions has been consistently and eloquently criticized by the likes of Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-SC), Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) and not least by former Congressman Ron Paul, to name but a handful.

Since our last Libya report of 27th July over a week ago, the ceasefire "brokered" by French President Macron at his Paris Summit with Libyan National Army head Khalifa Belqasim Haftar and UN-backed prime minister, Fayez al-Sarraj is in reality nowhere to be found.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Libyan people need to determine their own destiny, and this should not be manipulated by any outside national forces, period, end of discussion.

What happened to them, after Ghaddafi was assassinated by Western forces, was utterly criminal.

Lockheed Sees Surge in Interest in Missile Defense Over North Korea Tensions

Several times a week, US officials threaten military action against North Korea. Even on days when they don’t media reports of tensions with North Korea continue the narrative that a huge war could erupt at any moment.

All these rumors of war are a big windfall for the Pentagon’s number one arms supplier, Lockheed Martin, as they are reporting that the surge in talk about North Korea’s missiles is leading to a surge in interest in their missile defense systems.

On the one hand, the reliability of any missile defense system is questionable under even optimal conditions, as evidenced by US failures. On the other hand, those Lockheed systems are very expensive, and have a really good profit margin on them.

Insiders Speak Out: 'I Helped Create A Monster' - Describes Google/Facebook's 'Brain Hacking' Techniques

A set of articles caught my eye this morning, where we see from industry insiders exactly how "Silicon Valley" has not only taken over journalism, but how the methods being utilized by both Google and Facebook which mimics the methods used on smartphones to addict users, dubbed "brain hacking" is not only unethical, but is also dangerous to public health, with one insider stating "I invested early in Google and Facebook and regret it. Sanctions - Western elites grasp at the last straws of hegemony

The Transatlantic/North-Atlintic elites weren’t happy about Putin making those statements. You could tell it by the reactions the Western officials gave him. As such, NATO’s then- Secretary General Japan de Hoop Scheffer called Putin’s speech “disappointing”. US senator John McCain (who was a presidential candidate) said that “Moscow must understand that it cannot enjoy a genuine partnership with the West so long as its actions at home and abroad conflict so fundamentally with age core values of Euro-Atlantic democracies” (yeah, you’re not democratic if you think differently and if you don’t do what the US dictates you to do).

Police Are Killing Citizens at Highest Rate Ever While Govt and Media Ignore It

Police have killed an average of over 3 people per day in 2017, and the numbers will only increase under the rhetoric used by the Trump Administration

Police in the United States are breaking records in 2017 by killing a record number of the same people they claim to serve and protect, and there is no change in sight under the current administration.

In 2017 alone, police have killed 746 people in the U.S., according to the Killed By Police database, which puts this year on pace to become the deadliest year on record. In contrast, in the first seven months of 2016, police killed 714 people; the number was slightly higher in 2015 with 725 killed; and it was noticeably lower in 2014 with 663 killed and in 2013 with 353 killed.

Farmer Heartbroken After Cop ‘Feared for His Life’ and Killed His Prize Goat

Portland, OR — Matt Minnick is a small farmer in Portland who is now very upset after a Washington County Sheriff’s Office Deputy shot and killed his top breeding goat Sunday morning.

Because of the new construction by Minnick’s property, some damage was caused to a portion of his fence that his $1,200 prized New Zealand goat named Volt managed to escape through.

Volt was not some pit bull or rabid German Shepard — he was a goat.

As a friendly reminder, when children go to petting zoos, they are surrounded by these animals. There are thousands of petting zoos throughout the country at which children interact with goats on a daily basis. Amazingly enough, none of these children ‘fear for their lives’ and kill any of these goats

SWAT TEAM TERRORIZES DRUG-FREE FAMILY OF TEA-DRINKING TOMATO-GROWERS

After finding wet tea leaves in a garbage can, a SWAT team in Kansas City raided a family home looking for marijuana, terrorizing the family for hours. The cops found nothing, and when the family sued, the "federal district judge who heard the case dismissed it, declaring that the police had probable cause and had acted reasonably," reports to George Leef in Forbes.

The family appealed to the Tenth Circuit:

[T]he panel of judges ruled that the district judge was in error in his dismissal. Each of the judges wrote part of the opinion, but the sizzling stuff was penned by Judge Carlos Lucero. Rarely will you find an opinion in which a judge so reams out the police for misconduct.

RADIOACTIVE PLUTONIUM DETECTED IN AIR NEAR HANFORD NUCLEAR FACILITY

Just ten days after the emergency at Washington's Hanford nuclear facility in early May, when a tunnel collapse prompted concerns about radioactive waste fallout as we described then in "'Serious Situation' After Tunnel Collapse At WA Nuclear Facility; Evacuation Ordered, No-Fly Zone In Place", we reported that the U.S. Department of Energy was scrambling to deal with a second emergency, when signs emerged that a massive underground double shell nuclear waste holding tank may also be leaking. As reported then, the tank in question - AZ 101 - was put into service in 1976, with a life expectancy of 20 years. Through 2017, it has been holding hot, boiling radioactive and chemically contaminated waste for 41 years.

U.S. soldier who murdered Afghan civilians will blame malaria drug

An Army court will decide this week whether to review and perhaps reduce the life sentence of a soldier who massacred Afghan civilians — and in the process it will judge a controversial malaria drug given to troops that is known to cause hallucinations, anxiety and paranoia.

Staff Sgt. Robert Bales, left, is shown during an exercise at the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, California, August 23, 2011. Bales is suspected of shooting, stabbing and burning sleeping villagers in a horrific attack that has sparked fury across Afghanistan. Bales is suspected of shooting, stabbing and burning sleeping villagers in a horrific attack that has sparked fury across Afghanistan.

Attorneys for Staff Sgt. Robert Bales, the serviceman convicted in 2013 of killing 16 Afghans in the worst U.S. military massacre since Vietnam, are expected to raise the soldier’s use of mefloquine, also known by the brand name Lariam, before or during his deployment.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Hey, as long as the drug manufacturers are making money, no one inside Big Pharma gives a damn about potential side effects which could cause a patient taking that drug, to go absolutely psychotic.

This happened to both Australian and Canadian Vets, forced to take this medication:

FBI agents conducted a predawn raid of Paul Manafort’s home

In other words, this raid was done to bully the target and his family. Appointing Jeff Sessions was Trump's biggest mistake and probably a fatal one!

The significance of the records seized from the home isn’t clear, according to the Post. But most of the documents were already in the hands of Congress, which means the raid may have been to send a message to Manafort that he should not expect any courtesies from special counsel Robert Mueller’s team. “If the FBI wanted the documents, they could just ask [Manafort] and he would have turned them over,” an adviser close to the White House told the Post.

"NONE OF IT WAS TRUE": 103 YEARS LATER, THE FT ADMITS IT LIED AND COLLUDED WITH THE BANK OF ENGLAND

When one strips away the lies about central banks' "inflation and employment" mandates and focuses on what they really do - which is to keep asset prices artificially supported and volatility suppressed - the motive behind virtually every central bank act becomes readily apparent: preserve (and increase, if possible) confidence in the market and economy, while saying anything and everything that helps achieve this, or in other words, lie but don't get caught.
Today, thanks to the FT, we have proof of precisely this, in what may be the first recorded instance of a central bank openly lying in an attempt to preserve market stability... and getting caught.

On Tuesday, the Bank of England admitted that the UK government failed to find enough investors to fully cover its its 1914 War Loan, and was forced to turn to the central bank to help plug a deficit of more than £100m in the fundraising. However, it did so only after it lied to the public that the bond was oversubscribed:

Webmaster's Commentary:

Lies by the financial community never end, because they are engineered to "paper over" a system so delicate and fragile that complete economic collapse is only a minor hiccup away, most of the time.

Google a cesspool of anti-conservative hatred, bigotry and intolerance… employees speak out

In a series of interviews with Breitbart News, current Google employees who spoke anonymously said that the company’s management regularly engages in “witch hunts” while ‘blacklisting’ employees they don’t agree with.

“Witch hunts are a well-known cultural problem at Google,” one employee named “Hal” told the news site, in describing work culture at Google.

“Several managers have openly admitted to keeping blacklists of the employees in question, and preventing them from seeking work at other companies,” Hal continued. “There have been numerous cases in which social justice activists coordinated attempts to sabotage other employees’ performance reviews for expressing a different opinion. These have been raised to the Senior VP level, with no action taken whatsoever.”

Corporations Remain The Biggest Threat To Free Speech

The Google ordeal shows what could be the future of work environments when campus agitators grow up and dominate corporate HR. Your employment will depend on you voicing the right opinions and keeping any dissent hidden deep inside your mind. Meanwhile, your company will openly advocate for left-wing causes and use its power to make the lives of known dissidents as miserable as possible.

Because it’s woke for a major corporation to deny services to wrong thinkers, but it’s fascism if a tiny bakery does the same to a gay couple.

Two years ago, I wrote that the corporate world, not the government, poseS the most serious threat to free expression in America. Time has only proven that point to be more true than ever.

US Sanctions — a Looney Tunes Bad Remake

By F. William Engdahl
5 Aug 2017

The ever-so-wise members of the Congress of the United States have just passed one of the most bizarre pieces of legislation in US history. Unilaterally, it makes illegal and severely punishable investments by European companies in international energy projects where Russia is involved. But it does far more. Unlike earlier US sanctions acts, the EU countries were not even consulted on the new act. It may well be that the bill, HR-3364: Countering Americas Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (sic) and its Senate counterpart will mark the irreversible decline of the United States as a global power and forge new ties between Russia, China, Iran and, yes, the major states of the EU including Germany .

Netanyahu in the Dock? Bribery, Fraud and Breach of Trust

He’s been investigated for over a year for alleged bribery, fraud, and breach of trust, including for accepting about $1.1 million from accused French fraudster Arnaud Mimran in 2009.

His chief of staff and close confident for years, Ari Harow, signed an agreement to turn state’s witness against him. As the saying goes, he knows where the bodies are buried.

A gag order in place until September 17 prevents information about the case from coming out.

Netanyahu’s trusted colleague may become his worst enemy to save himself from harsher punishment, including possible imprisonment.

According to former Netanyahu communications director Yoaz Hendel,

Harow “sat on the seam between the political and the personal, between the family of Netanyahu and the nation, between the bureau and the home. On these seams, all the gray episodes happened.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Politically, with Harow turning Israeli state's evidence against him, Netanyahu is a wounded animal; and nothing is more dangerous than a wounded animal, fearing for its life.

He may, in fact, start World War III in order to proclaim martial law, and prevent his prosecution from moving forward, if the Israeli State Prosecutor's facts are correct.

The Strange Case of Imran Awan

The Imran Awan case is certainly of considerable interest not only for what the investigation eventually turns up but also for what it reveals about how things work in Congress. One might well ask how foreign-born IT specialists are selected and vetted prior to being significantly overpaid and allowed to work on computers in congressional offices. And the ability of those same individuals to keep working even after the relevant congressmen have been warned that their employee was under investigation has to be explained beyond Wasserman-Schultz’s comment that Awan had not committed any crime. And how does “bankrupt” Imran Awan wind up with a high-priced lawyer to defend him who is associated with the Clintons? Finally, there are the lingering concerns about the unfortunately well-established Russiagate narrative.

Israel Faces Backlash Over Threat to Shut Down al-Jazeera

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has backed the call by his Communications Minister Ayoub Kara to ban al-Jazeera from the country, including forbidding all of its reporters from operating within Israel or occupied Palestine.

That’s not sitting well with a lot of people, unsurprisingly. Free press organizations are unsurprisingly critical of the move, seeing it as driven primarily by the Israeli government’s cynical interest in distracting the public from ongoing controversies surrounding al-Aqsa mosque, the Jordan embassy, and Netanyahu’s corruption probe.

Al-Jazeera, for its part, has threatened legal action over the potential move, saying that Kara’s allegations of al-Jazeera’s “incitement” were unsubstantiated, and that Israeli officials hadn’t even attempted to provide any sort of evidence to justify a move against them.

China Preparing ‘Small’ Military Operation to Expel Indian Troops

Chinese state media is quoting officials familiar with the situation as saying the nation is preparing for a “small-scale military operation” aimed at expelling Indian troops from the Doklam region, after a protracted stand-off in the area.

China was trying to build a road in the Doklam region when Indian ground troops crossed the border to stop them. Indian forces have remained there, albeit in small numbers, ever since. India does not claim the land belongs to them, but claims that Bhutan believes it belongs to them, and that an old treaty with Bhutan obliges them to back the claim.

The territory is sparsely inhabited, and of little value to either. Still, Chinese officials warn that the row with India could have a long-term impact on their relationship, whether or not the dispute results in any sort of military exchange.

Webmaster's Commentary:

China may want a "small" military action to send Indian troops packing, but may well not be able to foresee just how India is going to respond, militarily.

Added to this uncertainty, is the reality that the US and India have enhanced their mutual defense cooperation under President Obama last year:

Obama signs into law bill declaring India a ‘major defence partner’

The US, India, China, and Russia need to move, purposefully and quickly, in such a way as to defuse the current situation; otherwise, this could lead to a regional, if not global, war.

America’s ISIS War Enters Fourth Year: War Is Expected to Leave US Troops in Iraq Permanently

On August 8 of 2014, a pair of US jets launched their first airstrikes against ISIS targets near the Iraqi Kurdish capital of Irbil. This marked the beginning of a protracted air war which continues to this day, along with an accompanying ground war which, despite pledges of “no boots on the ground,” quickly grew to many thousands of US troops.

The fourth year finds ISIS-held territory shrinking substantially, with the group’s territory in Iraq all but lost, and both the Kurdish YPG and the Syrian government pushing them back in Syria, with an ongoing offensive in the ISIS capital of Raqqa.

Yet while Pentagon officials are keen to brag about their accomplishments in the war, mostly centering around having killed massive numbers of people, they are also quick to dismiss the idea that the war is anywhere near over, or that even if it was “won” is some shape or form it would mean US troops coming home.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This permanent US deployment in Iraq will insure that the US controls the Iraqi government, the oil, and the currency in which that oil wil be sold (translation: only in US dollars).

And it is very interesting, and almost ironic, to notice; just when the Philippine's Duterte was waging his war against drug dealers, what happens?!?

All of a sudden he has ISIS with which to contend!!

Lavrov Holding Talks With N. Korean Foreign Minister in Manila

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is holding talks with North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho on Monday on the sidelines of the 50th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) and Related Meetings in Manila.

Lavrov arrived in the Philippines on Sunday to participate in the events within ASEAN. The minister has already held a number of bilateral meetings including with the foreign ministers of Turkey, China and the United States.
Earlier in the day, the North Korean foreign minister held a meeting with his Chinese counterpart.

Sessions Humiliates Rahm: "No Amount Of Federal Funds Will Help A City That Refuses To Help Its Own Residents"

All the latest moves coming from Jeff Sessions would seem to imply that the beleaguered Attorney General has every intent of aggressively pushing forward with Trump's agenda in order to mend broken fences with the White House and try to keep his job. The latest such move comes in the form of the following rather direct official statement from Sessions in response to Chicago's lawsuit filed earlier this morning regarding federal funding, or lack thereof rather, for sanctuary cities.

Among other things, Sessions scolded Chicago's Mayor, Rahm Emanuel, saying that "no amount of federal taxpayer dollars will help a city that refuses to help its own residents." Meanwhile, Sessions also took direct aim at Chicago's soaring violent crime rate pointing out, as we have on many occasions, that the city recorded more murders in 2016 than New York and L.A. combined.

“No amount of federal taxpayer dollars will help a city that refuses to help its own residents."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sessions was absolutely correct in reading Chicago's mayor, Mayor, Rahm Emanuel, the riot act, on this issue.

Silencing ALL opposition voices: Inside The Media Matters Playbook

Even to casual observers, it has been obvious for months that the left is orchestrating a tightly-coordinated campaign to undermine and delegitimize the current presidential administration.
As an extension of the decades-long campaign to wrestle the narrative away from conservatives, independents and centrists, they’re smearing right-leaning commentators with anything they can find. In the take-down of Bill O’Reilly and Monica Crowley and attempted hit on Sean Hannity, for example, it’s more than evident.

And just this week, the suspension of Fox’s Eric Bolling provides even more proof.

We now know how the left is running this non-stop smear campaign and who is pulling the puppet strings.

US CREDIT CARD DEBT SURPASSES FINANCIAL CRISIS RECORD, AS STUDENT AND AUTO LOANS HIT NEW ALL TIME HIGH

Who would have expected that today's otherwise boring monthly consumer credit report would be the day's most exciting event. Well, moments ago the monthly update from the Federal Reserve confirmed that as of the end of June, total revolving (i.e. credit card) credit rose to $1,021.7 billion, an increase of $4.1 billion on the month, and a new all time high, taking out the previous record high set during the summer of 2008.

... means that total consumer credit in June increased by $12.4 billion, slightly less than the $13.9 billion expected and modestly less than the $18.4 billion increase in May, to $3,855.8 billion, also a record high.

Taking a closer look at the quarterly update in non-revolving debt, we find that for another consecutive quarter, both student and auto loans hit record highs, of $1.450 trillion and $1.131 trillion respectively, although there does appears to be a modest slowdown in credit issuance for these two largest categories.

HOMESCHOOLED STUDENTS STILL FACE BIAS IN COLLEGE ADMISSIONS, EVEN WHEN THEY MEET REQUIREMENTS

Even as many colleges have taken to recruiting homeschooled students because they tend to outperform their public-school counterparts, homeschoolers still face discrimination in postsecondary education.

As evidenced by a recent case handled by the Home School Legal Defense Association, cosmetology schools are a surprising locus of bias against the homeschooled clients of the association’s attorneys.

It’s a sweeping change from HSLDA’s work during the Clinton administration, when colleges of all kinds routinely denied admission to applicants whose parents personally instructed their education, staff attorney Darren Jones told The College Fix in a phone interview.

Yet even as the frequency and severity of cases has subsided, one enormous university system has stubbornly resisted the trend of colleges treating homeschool students on an equal footing.

Three years of college, ignored

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is completely insane, and must be fixed, state by state, because the Federal Government doesn't want this bias against home-schooled students fixed.

The Federal Government wants "manageable" students, hooked on SSRIS and God only knows what ever other kinds of prescription drugs, who will never fully understand the lessons of history; understand logic; and never use critical thinking to attempt to evaluate and repair what is going wrong in this country.

Google fires author of memo criticizing company’s diversity program

Google has reportedly fired the author of an internal memo criticizing the company’s diversity program, prompting conservative commentators to say the author’s criticisms about liberal intolerance stand thus proven.

James Damore, the author of a 10-page memo titled “Google’s Ideological Echo Chamber,” told Bloomberg News of his firing in an email Monday evening.
According to Bloomberg, Mr. Damore, a software engineer, said he had been fired for “perpetuating gender stereotypes.”

Although the company had no immediate comment, Google’s Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai implied similarly earlier in the day, sending a note to employees saying the memo “violate[s] our Code of Conduct and cross[es] the line by advancing harmful gender stereotypes.”

Danielle Brown, whom Google recently added as a diversity chief, also condemned the memo Monday, saying the company is “unequivocal in our belief that diversity and inclusion are critical to our success.”

Is AG Sessions unwittingly working for the Bush family?

This question has to be asked in light of Jeff Sessions actions and inactions as U.S. Attorney General

SOTN Editor’s Note:
The incisive Facebook comment concerning Jeff Sessions posted below was recently sent to SOTN unsolicited. At first we disregarded it. But then we carefully looked at the Attorney General’s 6 month progress report since his confirmation on February 8th.

Because of the unmitigated disaster that Jeff Sessions has turned out to be as AG, one wonders whether he was actually sent into the Trump camp early on as a Bush family plant.

Climbing on board the Trump train as Sessions did so early in the campaign season never made any sense; just as Chris Christie and Rudy Giuliani never really made any sense being anywhere close to Trump, except as spies.

ISRAELI WEAPONS, AIRPOWER, SECRETLY GIVEN TO LIBYAN WARLORD, SOURCE CLAIMS

In February of 2011, shortly after the popular uprising erupted in Libya, the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 1970, which —among other things— forbids the export of war materiel to Libya. In June of this year, the United Nations accused Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates of violating the embargo by providing secret military assistance to Haftar and the LNA. Now a new report in a British-based Arab news outlet claims that, in addition to Saudi Arabia and the Emirates, Israel too is helping the LNA. A NEW TWIST IN SETH RICH MURDER CASE

The U.S. mainstream media dismisses any link between the murder of DNC official Seth Rich and leaked DNC emails as a “conspiracy theory” – while blaming Russia instead – but a new possibility has arisen, writes Joe Lauria.

With U.S.-Russia tensions as dangerously high as they’ve been since the worst days of the Cold War, there is potential new evidence that Russia was not behind a hack of the Democratic National Committee, although Congress and the U.S. mainstream media accept the unproven allegation of Russia’s guilt as indisputable fact.

The possible new evidence comes in the form of a leaked audiotape of veteran investigative journalist Seymour Hersh in which Hersh is heard to say that not Russia, but a DNC insider, was the source of the Democratic emails published by WikiLeaks just before the start of the Democratic National Convention in late July 2016.

At first Alternative and Independent Media sites, bloggers and others using the internet to share their opinions, was able to be swatted away like a fly by the mainstream media and their puppet masters in the government because the MSM controlled the narrative, decided what to report, how to spin it, used their "anonymous sources" to plant suggestions, and most importantly, their number one job for the government, was to influence the public.

That all changed during the 2016 election cycle, where public distrust of the media hit record highs, more and more Internet users started obtaining their news from different sources, comparing coverage, looking for information that the MSM simply refused to give them, and against the "advice," suggestions, endorsements, and outright propaganda pumped out daily by the establishment media, the candidate the MSM by and large told everyone not to vote for, won the electoral vote.

Indisputable Proof Of Coordinated Attacks By Tech Giants To Control Access Of Information In Order To Control The Masses

Operation Mockingbird was a secret campaign by the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to influence media. Begun in the 1950s, it was initially organized by Cord Meyer and Allen W. Dulles, it was later led by Frank Wisner after Dulles became the head of the CIA.

The organization recruited leading American journalists into a network to help present the CIA’s views, and funded some student and cultural organizations, and magazines as fronts. As it developed, it also worked to influence foreign media and political campaigns, in addition to activities by other operating units of the CIA.

In 2013, Barack Obama repealed the Smith-Mundt Act, which supposedly banned U.S. propaganda from being disseminated to American audiences, and in 2016, Obama quietly signed the Countering Disinformation And Propaganda Act into law, all of which was intended to use the media to basically control public opinion in the U.S.

POLICE RECEIVE GOD’S EYE TECHNOLOGY, GOOGLE EARTH WITH REAL TIME TIVO CAPABILITIES

“A new surveillance system that collects and records information in real-time — and then lets trackers rewind, zoom in and follow certain targets — has hit the test market streets of Baltimore, Md., and Dayton, Ohio, and in at least one crime-fighting unit in California,” the Washington Times reported.

The surveillance software sounds a lot like Google earth with real time and TIVO like capabilities, able to search any individuals location and associations through out their day. A law enforcement officer could track your daily voyage from when you leave your home in the morning until you return in the evening.

The system will be able to track your daily trends, where you travel to, who you are with, when you visit and for how long. Any crimes you may commit throughout your day could be used against you.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I don't know about you; but this article just makes me profoundly uncomfortable.

That everything I say and do can be surveilled, then used against me?!?

Thank you, no; I think I will pick up an abacus, and get away from computers and the phones, if this is the reality now.

Italy Sends Warships into Libyan Waters to Block Refugees

On August 3, the Italians government sent the frigate Commandante Borsini into Libyan territorial waters to stop refugees fleeing Libya for Europe. This violation of the sovereignty of Libya, a former Italian colony, aims to destroy refugee vessels and force refugees back into Libya, where the militias that have controlled the country ever since the devastating NATO war against Libya in 2011 detain them in appalling conditions.

The Italian parliament has approved a law allowing the Italian navy to trespass into Libyan waters under the pretext that they are helping the Libyan coast guard to arrest refugees. Italian Defense Minister Roberta Pinotti even declared that the goal was to “reinforce Libyan sovereignty.” A large majority in parliament voted for the intervention, 328 to 113 in the lower house and 191 to 47 in the upper house.

Saudi Arabia defends decision to execute 14 Saudi Shiites

Saudi Arabia is defending its decision to execute 14 minority Shiites — whose verdicts sparked criticism in the United States and Europe — declaring in a rare public statement that their trials were conducted fairly.

The men were arrested for their involvement in demonstrations in 2011 and 2012 during the Arab Spring revolts and were later sentenced to death in a secretive counterterrorism court, according to human rights activists and the men’s relatives, who also say that some of the men were tortured and forced into making false confessions.

The group included a teenager who was arrested at the airport before boarding a flight to visit a university in Michigan, and a youth who is half-deaf and nearly blind, activists said.

Shiites in the Sunni-majority kingdom have long complained of discrimination and harassment by authorities.

Last month, the kingdom’s highest court upheld the death sentences, clearing the way for the executions to take place any day now.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is essentially mass religious genocide, premised on a differing interpretation, and leadership, of Islamic factions, coupled with the brutality of torture obviously used through which to gain the desired false confessions.

And Prince Salman, really; how completely, primitively medieval do you want Saudi Arabia to look to the rest of the world?!?

Because you could do no worse, in that regard, than allowing these executions to move forward, rather than commuting them on humanitarian grounds, which is absolutely within your power to arrange.

Myanmar rejects allegations of human rights abuses against Rohingya

Myanmar on Sunday rejected allegations of crimes against humanity and ethnic cleansing during a crackdown against Rohingya Muslims last year, accusing the United Nations of making exaggerated claims in its report on the issue.

Rohingya militants killed nine border guards in October, sparking a response in which the army was accused of raping Rohingya women, shooting villagers on sight and burning down homes, sending an estimated 75,000 people fleeing to Bangladesh.

A U.N. report in February said security forces instigated a campaign that "very likely" amounted to crimes against humanity and possibly ethnic cleansing. This led to the establishment of a U.N. probe which is being blocked by Myanmar.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If Myanmar is blocking this probe, it's a dead moral certainty that at least some of these accusations are, unfortunately, quite true.

IDF to start drafting students during military prep week

Instead of sending draft orders to 11th grade students and plucking them out of their school year for a battery of tests ahead of their conscription, the army will now start doing so during their ‘Gadna’ week, where they first learn about the army life.

The Education Corps and the Personnel Branch of the IDF are currently advancing an initiative to, for the first time, send Israeli draft orders to teens in 11th grade during attendance at their pre-military preparation week.

The first to experience the combination of these two experiences are thousands of high school students who are scheduled to spend the military prep week—in Israel known as Gadna—at the Hahava Alon base in the Galilee in the coming school year.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder just what wars these kids and getting groomed and prepped to fight; against Iran, or for the continued, slo-mo genocide against the Palestinian people?!?

Ideologically, I'm sure the IDF will "boil" these kids slowly, and inculcate justthe right amount of venom for the hatred of both peoples, so that murder against them becomes the "trained and appropriate" response.

WATCH: INEPT COP HOLDS MAN AT GUNPOINT FOR 9 MINUTES DURING SIMPLE TRAFFIC STOP

Last week a car was stopped for speeding near San Jose, CA. The officer, from the Campbell Police Department, asked for a license and registration paperwork, but when the passenger, a black man who was on his way to work, went to get paperwork, which was under his seat, the cop pulled out his gun and told the man to keep his hands where he could see them.

Israel moves to shut down local operations of Al Jazeera

Israel plans to revoke the media credentials of Al Jazeera TV journalists, close its Jerusalem bureau and pull the Qatar-based station's broadcasts from local cable and satellite providers, Communications Minister Ayoub Kara said on Sunday.

The closure did not appear imminent, however, and an Israeli official said a legal process was still required to implement most of the proposed steps.

Federal Court Dismisses US Veterans’ Lawsuit Over Burn Pits

The long, sad story of burn pits has included years of US veterans facing major health ramifications from being stationed near the pits, breathing in the toxic fumes from them. With studies showing the open burning of munitions and waste was wildly dangerous, you’d think this would be a slam dunk for a lawsuit.

That’s not the case, however, as US District Court Judge Roger Titus has dismissed a lawsuit by veterans and family members related to the health problems, and even deaths, caused by the burn pits, saying there was no way to hold anyone accountable for it.

The burn pit problem has been well documented for several years, but Titus insisted the lawsuit against KBR could not proceed, because the military contractor which ran the burn pits didn’t get to decide where to position them, that being a military decision.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I, cynically, have to wonder: just how much of Judge Titus' portfolio is invested directly in KBR, or other members of the military/industrial complex, to the point where he believe (and rightly) that allowing this law suit to go forward would be a slippery slope, opening the door to other lawsuits, which would destroy his portfolio's value horrifically?!? And if, in fact, that was the case, did he not have the moral and legal obligation to recuse himself from the case?!?

The lawyers for those who brought this case forward should have known if this was true, and demanded that another judge try the case because the judge would have been economically biased against the plaintiffs, if that reality existed.

Apparently, in his bitterly cold, sang-foid appraisal, those Vets killed or maimed for life due to proximity to these burn pits, were simply "collateral damage" to the military process, and irrelevant, expendable human beings anyway, so they, and their families, were utterly unworthy of any compensation whatsoever, due to the damage their proximity to these burn pits caused.

Tortured logic serves the military industrial complex, and their profit margins, quite nicely, and this decision is a brilliant demonstration of this kind of soulless, mental exercise.

SAUDI BULLDOZERS FLATTEN POPULATED TOWN AS RESIDENTS FLEE CARNAGE

HUNDREDS OF SHIA MUSLIMS IN AWAMIYA ARE FORCED FROM THEIR HOMES AMID FIGHTING AND COMPULSORY EVICTIONS.

The Saudi government has been forcibly relocating residents of the restive city of Awamiya as clashes continue between soldiers and militant groups in the old city.

Hundreds of people have fled or been evacuated from Awamiya since the beginning of the current troubles which have killed at least seven people, including two police officers. According to al-Hayat newspaper, the government received requests from residents and farmers around Awamiya to help them flee the violence.

However, activists say that residents have been driven out of their homes and their properties seized by private development companies, primarily in and around the historic Almosara district.

An image sent to Middle East Eye by an Awamiya activist showed a requisition order pinned to a house in the district of al-Shweikah, about 6 km south of Almosara.

US to Respond to Russia's Move to Reduce US Diplomatic Mission by September 1

Talking to reporters after a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of the 50th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) and Related Meetings, which is currently underway in Manila, Tillerson said that he had informed his Russian counterpart about it, according to the Associated Press.
Tillerson, however, did not specified regarding the US retaliatory measures.

According to Tillerson, the White House wants to continue cooperating with Russia and not to cut off ties due to the existing contradictions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid sanctions that Congress placed against Russia, North Korea, and Iran, may well have far worse consequences than imagined.

It has already brought North Korea and Iran closer together.

Iran ditched the dollar earlier this year.

Iran ditches US dollar as a medium of exchange

China and Russia ditched the dollar earlier this year.

Russia and China bypass US Dollar

What happens when the rest of the world follows this trend, and the US, even with all of its military might, is unable to stop this?!?

AFRICAN CHILDREN PAY THE PRICE FOR “CLEAN GREEN” ELECTRIC CAR BATTERY TECHNOLOGY

Goldman Sachs, the merchant bank, calls cobalt ‘the new gasoline’ but there are no signs of new wealth in the DRC, where the children haul the rocks brought up from tunnels dug by hand.

Adult miners dig up to 600ft below the surface using basic tools, without protective clothing or modern machinery. Sometimes the children are sent down into the narrow makeshift chambers where there is constant danger of collapse.

Cobalt is such a health hazard that it has a respiratory disease named after it – cobalt lung, a form of pneumonia which causes coughing and leads to permanent incapacity and even death.

Even simply eating vegetables grown in local soil can cause vomiting and diarrhoea, thyroid damage and fatal lung diseases, while birds and fish cannot survive in the area.

Webmaster's Commentary:

How horrifically ironic; children dying, or having their breathing compromised for life, in the process of creating "clean energy."

U.S. TROOPS FLOW INTO YEMEN AND MORE ARE PROBABLY ON THE WAY

Emirate officials greeted U.S. forces at an airport in Hadramaut province on Friday as they entered Yemen. Mainstream media is wishy-washy describing the role that the troops will play which indicates that their activity is likely much more involved than officials would like to admit. BBC even whitewashed over the presence, using the term “US-backed troops” instead. Yemeni media, on the other hand, has been crystal clear in their reporting, insisting that the fields are directly under control of U.A.E. and U.S. troops.

According to Yemen’s Saba News Agency, U.S. and Emirate forces swiftly expelled AQAP from oil and gas fields in Shabwah province. This operation led many Yemeni’s to worry about the U.S. and their allies intentions and possible looting of Yemen’s resources; especially so considering that the United Arab Emirates relies heavily on Qatar for gas.

Webmaster's Commentary:

To the people of Yemen; what US forces, combined with Saudi forces, are attempting to do here quite simple: to regime change the country to a Western-centric government; to expropriate physical resources to which it has utterly no moral right ( like Yemen's oil); and insure that the oil, and other resources, are only sold in US dollars.

And those Yemenis who oppose this are simply assassinated, then labeled as "collateral damage", and "neutralized with extreme prejudice"- even their infant children, as the following images will attest:

Images: Yemeni children murdered and maimed for life, courtesy of Saudi bombing raids

I am singularly distressed about being a citizen of a country which colludes with Saudi war crimes in Yemen; this announcement of the deployment of more US troops signals a ratcheting up of the slo-mo Saudi genocide of the Yemeni people, until the Saudi/US-desired results are accomplished.

Al Jazeera Slams Israel’s Move to Ban Network: These Are Actions of Only Democracy in Mideast?

Al Jazeera denounced on Monday Israel's decision to close the Jerusalem bureau of Qatar's flagship satellite network, saying that the measure "undermines" Israeli claims to be the Middle East's sole democracy and that it will take legal action.

On Sunday, Communications Minister Ayoub Kara (Likud) announced Israel would revoke the press credentials of Al Jazeera journalists, effectively preventing them from working in the country, in addition to shutting down their Jerusalem bureau and preventing their broadcasting on Israel's satellite networks. His announcement came in response to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's call to remove the media network from the Jewish state based on claims that it incites violence against Israel.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The logic here is simple enough; Tel Aviv pathologically cannot tolerate any reasonable, honest, and documented stories about its corruption, racism, and its deeply, brazenly apartheid-like Palestinophobia.

And when a guy like South Africa's Bishop Desmond Tutu labels Israel's actions toward the Palestinians as "apartheid", this is a guy who truly knows what he is talking about.

Bishop Desmond Tutu says Israel is guilty of apartheid in its treatment of Palestinians

However, that being said, such a move will not stop either Al Jazeera, or other independent media, from reporting the truth regarding Israel's slo-mo genocide against the Palestinians.

In fact, such a move on the part of Minister Ayoub Kara will simply serve to focus the spotlight to an even more radar-like, unblinking lens, 24/7, against Israeli atrocities against the Palestinian population.

IF Kara thought, for a millisecond, that this would reduce coverage on the plight of Palestinians, he was absolutely, epic-fail, wrong in his assessment.

TURKEY & QATAR STAGE MILITARY DRILLS AMID GULF DIPLOMATIC CRISIS

Turkey and Qatar have staged joint military drills showcasing their strategic alliance, according to Qatari media. It comes after Turkish troops moved into Qatar following a diplomatic and transport blockade imposed against Doha by several Arab countries.

The drills were aimed at preparing Qatar's military to defend "vital economic, strategic and infrastructure facilities," Al-Sharq newspaper reported, as quoted by Reuters.

The exercises come after Turkish media reported that joint drills would be taking place August 6-7, with officials saying they would be aimed at "strengthening the defense capabilities of both countries" and "boosting efforts to combat armed groups and maintaining stability in the region."

According to Anadolu agency, Qatari Emiri Navy Commander Rear Admiral Mohammed Nasser al-Mohannadi visited the Turkish frigate ‘TCG Gökova’ last week, which is docked at Hamad Port in Qatar.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This situation could ignite at any moment, as Saudi Arabia has gone back to its original position that its 13 requirements must be met by Doha, and Doha has stated that it will not respond of any of the items with which Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries want done.

Turkey's military already being in Qatar, and doing military exercises, means that Doha hopes the Turkish military presence will preclude any Saudi Arabian military moves against it.

And as a further complication, Qatar is home to the largest military base in the Middle East, Al Udeid Air Base, housing 11,000 US military.

IF Saudi Arabia decides to go in militarily, if Qatar is recalcitrant, how is the US going to respond, and what will be the standing orders to the CO's at Al Udeid?!?

This is rapidly devolving into one hot mess.

Anti-Populist Coward Jeff Sessions Threatens the First Amendment

When you take a look at which issues Jeff Sessions gets most passionate about (asset forfeiture, drug war foolishness, cracking down on media), there’s one thing that ties it all together. He has a very deep-seated and visceral disdain for the American public. He’s your typical cowardly prosecutor looking to make a name for himself by picking on the weak and dispossessed, while never targeting elite criminals. One thing you’ll always notice about Sessions is how much of a thug he is. He’d never dare take on a bank executive or powerful politician, but prefers to marshals resources toward the most anti-populist crusades possible. His latest move to target freedom of the press is no exception.

Jeff Sessions Endorses Theft

Attorney General Jeff Sessions recently ordered the Justice Department to increase the use of civil asset forfeiture, thus once again endorsing an unconstitutional, authoritarian, and increasingly unpopular policy.

Civil asset forfeiture, which should be called civil asset theft, is the practice of seizing property believed to be involved in a crime. The government keeps the property even if it never convicts, or even charges, the owner of the property.

Police can even use civil asset theft to steal from people whose property was used in criminal activity without the owners’ knowledge. Some have even lost their homes because a renter or houseguest was dealing drugs on the premises behind the owners’ backs.

Court deals major blow to veterans suing military contractor KBR

A federal judge has dismissed a major lawsuit against a defense contractor by veterans and their family members over burn pit operations in Iraq and Afghanistan that plaintiffs said caused them chronic and sometimes deadly respiratory diseases and cancer.

The dismissal — the second by Titus in the case — deals a major blow to the more than 700 veterans, family members and former KBR employees who brought the suit.Plaintiffs were disappointed, and some were furious.

“My husband is DEAD because of burn pits,” Dina McKenna, whose husband, former Army Sgt. William McKenna, died in 2010 from a rare form of T-cell lymphoma after serving in Iraq, told McClatchy in an email. “I want someone to be held accountable.”

Internet Censorship Bill Would Spell Disaster for Speech and Innovation

There’s a new bill in Congress that would threaten your right to free expression online. If that weren’t enough, it could also put small Internet businesses in danger of catastrophic litigation.

Don’t let its name fool you: the Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act (SESTA, S. 1693) wouldn’t help punish sex traffickers. What the bill would do (PDF) is expose any person, organization, platform, or business that hosts third-party content on the Internet to the risk of overwhelming criminal and civil liability if sex traffickers use their services. For small Internet businesses, that could be fatal: with the possibility of devastating litigation costs hanging over their heads, we think that many entrepreneurs and investors will be deterred from building new businesses online.

Make no mistake: sex trafficking is a real, horrible problem. This bill is not the way to address it.

North Korea Sanctions: Isolating the Isolated

So, if isolation is not a particularly effective strategy, what might work instead?

The only effective way of changing North Korea’s behavior is to embed it in the international community, subjecting it to international rules and regulations and tying its economy to the global market. Of course, negotiators will present this economic engagement as a quid pro quo for North Korea freezing its nuclear program and imposing a moratorium on missile launches. But the bottom line is that engagement would be more effective than isolation even if US negotiators received no guarantees from North Korea in return.

Only through this kind of economic and geopolitical engagement will the actual nature of the North Korean system begin to change over time. And only through this kind of engagement will the international community acquire any meaningful leverage over Pyongyang. Indeed, this is what North Korea fears the most: the “poisoned apple” of engagement.

Turkey replaces army, air force and navy leaders

Turkey is set to replace the leaders of its military forces for land, sea and air, local media say. The decision, to be approved by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, comes just over a year after a failed military coup.

The Supreme Military Council (YAS) on Wednesday decided to replace the heads of its three main armed services with other top members of the military, according to Turkish television channels.

The YAS held a four-hour meeting chaired by Prime Minister Binali Yildirim on Wednesday, with the decisions to be presented later in the day to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for approval.

On the way out - according to the CNN Turk channel and NTV network - are land army commander General Salih Zeki Colak, navy chief Admiral Bulent Bostanoglu and air force commander General Abidin Unal.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The timing of this military restructuring is interesting; just a little more than a year after the failed coup against Erdogan.

One has to wonder if it is simply paranoia going on here, on Edrogan's part, or if he actually had hard evidence that these military leaders were part of the coup against him.

Syrian army takes last town held by Islamic State in Homs

Syrian government and allied forces have taken the last major town in Homs province from the Islamic State, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Saturday, as the army advances toward militant strongholds in the east of the country.

The town of al-Sukhna lies some 50 km (30 miles) northeast of the ancient city of Palmyra, which was captured by government forces in March.

It is also 50 km from the administrative frontier of Deir al-Zor province, which is almost entirely under Islamic State control.

A Hezbollah media unit said government and allied forces were making considerable progress inside the city of Sukhna. Lebanon's Hezbollah group fights on the side of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the Syrian conflict.

Syrian state news agency SANA reported earlier on Saturday that the army was advancing into al-Sukhna from three directions.

NBC: Pentagon asks the White House to provide lethal weapons to Ukraine

The Pentagon has sent a recommendation to provide Ukraine with high-tech, anti-tank weapons to the White House, the NBC News reported on Aug.4, referring to its own sources among the U.S officials.

The proposed aid includes Javelin missiles with an estimated cost of around $50 million.

While a Pentagon spokesperson didn’t confirm the information to NBC, the American TV station’s sources said that indeed no decision has been made yet but Pentagon is in favor of the move.

“It is the right move and I see the fingerprints of Secretary of Defense (James) Mattis all over it,” Retired Admiral James Stavridis, a former commander of NATO and an NBC News analyst said.

Mattis expressed full support for Ukraine and supported the preservation of sanctions against Russia as an aggressor country during a meeting with Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko in June in Washington.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sec-Def Mattis, a word, please: what, precisely, do you mean when characterising Russia as an "aggressor nation", when it is obvious for anyone with two brain cells to rub together, and a grasp of recent history, understand, completely, that Russia neither "annexed" Crimea in 2014, nor did they meddle in the the US 2016 election cycle?!?

Would you please elucidate?!?

Because all I can hear, in your demonisation of Russia, are war drums, beating toward a crescendo, culminating in a US war against Russia.

WITCH HUNT: ‘RUSSIAN COLLUSION’ INVESTIGATION INCLUDES TENANTS WHO RENTED APARTMENTS IN TRUMP TOWER

Desperate to politically damage President Trump to lay the grounds for impeachment, Robert Mueller’s investigation into “Russian collusion” now includes material “unconnected to the 2016 elections” and even includes tenants who stayed in Trump Tower over the last six years.

Sources told CNN that a “potential prosecution” could be secured not by way of evidence that proves Russia schemed with the Trump campaign to swing the election (which is supposedly the entire focus of the investigation), but by proving past financial improprieties by Trump-owned business interests.
This not only underscores how the entire investigation, which now involves a Grand Jury, is a pure witch hunt, but also how Mueller almost certainly knows that there is no clear evidence of Russian collusion with which to nail Trump.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Note that this is completely unsourced (and because its origin is CNN, we can therefore, safely, and immediately, conclude that this article may well be 100% fact free).

But it colors this Democratic Party-inspired inquisition as complete desperation on the cusp of madness.

1.8 million California acres were set aside for frogs. Ranchers say decision ignores them

Tiny frogs and toads used to swarm over the Sierra Nevada. Now, the government says nearly 2 million acres of land needs to be preserved to prevent them from going extinct.

California ranchers and logging groups say those protections are hurting their ability to make a living. So another conflict over the Endangered Species Act is going to court.

The California Farm Bureau and two ranchers’ associations sued the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on Monday, challenging a year-old decision to designate more than 1.8 million acres of rural California as “critical habitat” for three species of frogs and toads that are protected by the Endangered Species Act.

Loggers and ranchers who harvest timber or graze cattle on public lands worry the new restrictions on land use will eventually make it more difficult – if not impossible – to make a living in the Sierra, said Shaun Crook, a Tuolumne County cattle rancher whose family also owns a logging company.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, but 1.8 million acres.... for an endangered species of frog... sounds like overkill to me, so I have to wonder: was this done, in order to stop loggers and ranchers from being able to work the land, and put them out of business?!?

Police departments forced to take back hundreds of officers fired for misconduct

Since 2006, the nation’s largest police departments have fired at least 1,881 officers for misconduct that betrayed the public’s trust, from cheating on overtime to unjustified shootings. But The Washington Post has found that departments have been forced to reinstate more than 450 officers after appeals required by union contracts.

A San Antonio police officer caught on a dash cam challenging a handcuffed man to fight him for the chance to be released was reinstated in February. In the District, an officer convicted of sexually abusing a young woman in his patrol car was ordered returned to the force in 2015. And in Boston, an officer was returned to work in 2012 despite being accused of lying, drunkenness and driving a suspected gunman from the scene of a nightclub killing.

McMaster: Threat of North Korean nuclear weapon strike "impossible to overstate"

This is why we should worry about this guy,not a tempest in a teapot over NSC staffers getting fired or renewing every living NSC heads security clearance per 70 year old sop, when Trump was makin nice with Hillary early on.

More war and any ole war will do.

National security adviser H.R. McMaster said Saturday the threat of North Korea launching a nuclear weapon at the U.S. or another rival nation is “impossible to overstate” and repeated that a preemptive military strike remains an option.

“It’s impossible to overstate the danger associated with a rogue, brutal regime,” McMaster told Hugh Hewitt on the conservative commentator’s MSNBC TV show.

“Are we preparing a plan for a preventive war? … The president has been very clear that he’s not going to tolerate North Korea being able to threaten the U.S. … So of course we have to provide all options to do that, and that includes a military option,” McMaster said.

Why Killing the Iran Deal Could Start the next War in the Middle East

There are troubling signs that the Trump administration is itching for a fight with Iran. While the White House recently certified that Tehran was complying with the nuclear deal, fresh sanctions and thinly veiled references to regime change should raise serious concern that the administration will be searching for any excuse to avoid recertifying Iran’s compliance come the next review in October. In fact, President Donald Trump tasked a team in the White House with coming up with reasons to withhold certification at the next opportunity. And in a July 25 interview with the Wall Street Journal Trump prejudged the October outcome, saying he fully expected Iran to be declared noncompliant.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The extent Israel's Bibi Netanyahu is pressuring Trump to make this happen has to be immense; after all, Israel has always wanted its greatest "existential threat" in the Middle East to get "neutralized", but only through the costs of American blood, and American money.

So Mr. President, a word of caution here, please: a US attack against Iran will almost certainly bring Russia into the fray, on the side of Iran; and at this point in its history, the US military does not have the money; the troop strength; the manufacturing; or the weaponry to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war against Russia.

The sanctions Congress has placed against Iran are completely insane, because the actions Iran is taking with its missiles were never deemed illegal under the P5+1 agreement, with which the IAEA (no slouches, intellectually, BTW) have found Iran in full compliance.

Will Netanyahu Bring Back Executions?

There is no death penalty in Israel. It was abolished during the first years of the state, when the execution of Jewish underground fighters (called "terrorists" by the British) was still fresh in everybody’s mind.

But a few days ago, somebody remembered that the death penalty was not really quite abolished. An obscure paragraph in the military code has remained in force. Now there is an outcry for its application.

The occasion is the murder of three members of a Jewish family in a settlement. The Arab assailant was wounded but not killed on the spot, as usually happens.

The entire right-wing clique that governs Israel now broke out in a chorus of demands for the death penalty. Binyamin Netanyahu joined the chorus, as did most members of his cabinet.

From whatever angle one looks at it, the death sentence is a barbaric and stupid measure. It has been abolished by all civilized countries, except some US states (which can hardly be called civilized.)

Nearly 50 Senators Want To Make It a Felony To Boycott Israel

In 1966, the NAACP of Claiborne County, Mississippi launched a boycott of several white-owned local businesses on the basis of racial discrimination.

It was so impactful that the local hardware store filed a lawsuit against the individuals and organizations who coordinated the boycott. After 10 long years of litigation, the Mississippi Supreme Court ruled in favor of the white businesses and ordered the NAACP to pay for all their lost earnings.

Years later, in 1982, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 8-0 to overturn the lower court’s decision on the basis that nonviolent boycotts are a form of free speech protected by the First Amendment. In announcing the unanimous decision, Justice John Paul Stevens said, “One of the foundations of our society is the right of individuals to combine with other persons in pursuit of a common goal by lawful means.”

Saudi Airstrike Kills Nine Civilians, Mostly Children, in Northern Yemen

A pre-dawn Saudi airstrike against the predominantly Shi’ite city of Saada, in northern Yemen, has destroyed a home and killed nine civilians, six of them children. Saudi officials have yet to comment on why the house was attacked.

This has been a problem throughout the Saudi war in Yemen, however, with airstrikes killing a massive number of civilians, particularly in Shi’ite parts of the country, and despite repeated promises to improve their targeting, it keeps happening.

Residents in the area took quite some time to even start picking through the ruins of the house to recover the bodies, noting that the Saudi warplanes which attacked continued to circle overhead long after, raising fears they’d attack anyone trying to rescue survivors, which has also been common practice in the Saudi air war.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Hey, killing innocent women and children, do not follow the denomination of Islam we follow; its what we do!!" - Official Saudi Souse.

And those Yemenis had good reason to fear a "double tap" strike on the house; this is something the Saudi military has been trained to do, courtesy of their US military trainers.

Folks, I have to tell you; I am getting very tired of being a citizen of a country which is enabling the Saudi military in the commission of war crimes in Yemen.

Mike and I would love to emigrate to another, more civilised country, which doesn't stoop to this kind of behaviour; unfortunately, we are both too old... and way too broke... to make that happen.

US Troops Are on the Ground in Yemen for al-Qaeda Offensive: Pentagon Won't Rule Out More Troops Being Sent in Coming Weeks

A day after the US was reported to have participated in an anti al-Qaeda offensive in southern Shabwa Province of Yemen, the Pentagon is confirming that a “small number” of US ground troops have been deployed into Yemen for an ongoing operation against the al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) force.

Details are still scant, but the operation is said to be taking place across central Yemen in a major al-Qaeda stronghold. The Pentagon said the main purposes of their presence is “intelligence sharing,” at least for now.

That’s because the Pentagon said they are not ruling out sending even more troops into Yemen in the coming weeks, as they appear to intend to continue escalating the fight against AQAP, in an offensive which apparently is being coordinated with the United Arab Emirates.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Raining more WMDs and death on the Yemeni people is not something the US military should be doing, no matter what the alleged "good reason" is for it.

U.S. PREPARED TO LAUNCH ‘PREVENTIVE WAR’ AGAINST NORTH KOREA, SAYS H.R. MCMASTER

The United States is preparing for all options to counter the growing threat from North Korea, including launching a “preventive war,” national security adviser H.R. McMaster said in an interview with MSNBC that aired Saturday. The comments come following North Korea carrying out two tests of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) last month.

The worst case scenario on this I can see here, is that of China providing military assistance to North Korea, in the case of a US attack against it.

Swamp for Trump: Third US President vows to win 16-year Afghan War

Clearly frustrated by the Pentagon’s ineffective strategies, Donald Trump has vowed to fire some of his top generals and aggressively gain ground in Afghanistan. But will the US president be able to prevail in a 16-year war where his two predecessors failed?

Dragging on longer than the Vietnam and Iraq campaigns, Afghanistan is becoming yet another swamp Trump wants to drain in keeping with his colorful election campaign. George W. Bush presided over the two post-9/11 military interventions in Afghanistan and Iraq and Barack Obama promised to end them – but the everlasting Afghan war relentlessly rolls on.

During a high-profile situation room meeting in July, Trump reportedly told his national security team it's time for a rapid breakthrough in Afghanistan.

“We are not winning,” he said, as cited in an NBC report. “We are losing.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr.President, a word please; and right now, what you really need to realise here is that those who do not understand the past are doomed to repeat it, and no where is that more critically true than with the current state of affairs in Afghanistan.

You need to begin to educate yourself on why George Bush invaded Afghanistan in the first place, and no, it had absolutely nothing to do with Osama Bin Laden. The following article may shed some light for you:

why did the US really go to war in Afghanistan? The pipeline to 9/11

Bush invaded Afghanistan to control the pipelines there, and attempt to control all the pipelines in Central Asia and ultimately through the entire Middle East.

He went in with far too troops, betting on weapons of mass destruction to "neutralize" the Afghanis, but yet for all the physical and psychological damage these weapons produced, they never really did the job. As reported at zerohedge.com:

A psychologist, Jaffar Ahmadi, described that such blasts spawn psychological disorders and fear among the affected population. The stricken people, he says, feel petrified and insecure. According to data, MOAB annihilates living things within a range of five km and its effects persist in air for decades. It also robs away oxygen for inhalation in a matter of several km from epicenter.

The Kabul-based Killid Group ventured into villages where MOAB-hit people had a ton of words to utter. A resident of Asad Khil village, Ghazeer, said that the bomb has born health hazards. He told Killid group:

“My Children are scared to sleep at night. Our skin is itching; small spots have appeared on the bodies of all people here. Our throats hurt. We are scared”

Another interviewee from the same village, Noor Bibi told the media group that the fierce explosion has almost blinded her. She acknowledges that:

“The bomb turned people blind and deaf. I can’t see anything, my skin is itching, my four grandchildren have chest problems and they also complain about their eyes.

In 2001, a day after the US soldiers first set foot in Afghanistan and captured Bagram airbase, it aerially attacked the final Al-Qaeda sanctuaries in notorious Tora Bora district in eastern Afghanistan. The air campaign continued until December 6 so intensely that a missile would land every two minute. It incurred great human fatalities and extensive financial loss. According to history records, the explosions would produce ear-splitting sound that caused ear-bleeding in many districts.

Sometime later, investigations found that the US had used short-range nuclear missiles. It left behind scores of creepy instances such as a drop in animal breeding in the area, a dramatic fall in agricultural products, and a few goats gave birth to defective babies.

Some British media reported that radioactive materials have also been observed in the area. Following the US bombings in many southern provinces, several babies were born eerily unlike normal humans, which doctors associated with the existence of radioactive material.

Mr. President, the excrement sandwich with which you are left in Afghanistan was absolutely not your fault; my sense is, you never would have personally ordered the invasion of this country, and would have continued on the path of negotiation with the Taliban to secure the pipeline rights.

The cost in American blood, and American money, 16 years on, has been staggering.

If military planners are brutally honest with you, they will inform you that it will take hundreds of thousands of troops to create a military victory here.

We just don't have those numbers, sir, with our other military deployments and commitments around the world: and that is the unequivocal truth, if you are looking at a military victory as "the only way" with which to achieve the US government's goals here in Afghanistan, the US military will have to scale back many of our other defense commitments.

But perhaps, is there another way to achieve the US government's goals?!?

And the answer is, yes, absolutely!!

What the US and NATO should do, is to withdraw their troops as quickly as is safely possible, then negotiate with whatever government is left standing in Kabul for the pipeline and mineral rights.

That control, Mr. President, based on monetary negotiations, is a win for the American economy, the American oil industry, and the American people.

I am honestly begging you not to be the lulled into believing that a military victory is possible without throwing hundreds of thousands of troops into the fray here; I am asking you to be that very smart, professionally shrewd man I supported for the Presidency in last November's election.

Catholic Church Embroiled In Nearly 100 Lawsuits Over Sexual Abuse In Guam

Many of the instances of sexual abuse alleged in these lawsuits previously went unreported, as the defendants allegedly used their positions as figures of spiritual and political authority to prey on vulnerable children. Those allegedly abused said the piety of the local population and the threat of retribution from their local church authorities discouraged them from telling anyone.

“I thought about it a million times, but I was scared to tell them, especially my mom,” a man identified as R.B. told the PDF. “She’s a die-hard Catholic. If I tell her a priest did that to me, I don’t think she would believe me.”

Joelle Casteix, regional director of Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP), said alleged victims of abuse in Guam were silenced by threats of alienation from their community, loss of jobs, and threats against their family members. Casteix first traveled to Guam in 2009 after one of the priests’ alleged victims called her.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Pedophilia in the Catholic church is an institutional mental illness, which, unfortunately, Pope Francis has been entirely useless in really weeding out.

And the reality here, is that this faith may ultimately get collectively sued out of existence because of this.

Would this be so horrifically prevalent if priests were mandated to be married, even up to the rank of Pope, rather than celibate?!?

I would tend to think not.

North Korea's 'No. 2' official on 10-day visit to Iran that may signal wider military ties

Amid new U.S. sanctions, North Korea's "No. 2" official began a 10-day visit to Iran on Thursday that could result in the two sides expanding their ties.

Iran's official IRNA news agency reported Kim Yong Nam, chairman of the Supreme Assembly of North Korea, arrived Thursday for the weekend inauguration ceremony for Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

But given the head of North Korea's parliament is expected to stay for 10 days in Iran, the trip is being seen as a front for other purposes, including expanding military cooperation. At the same time, Pyongyang is looking for ways to counter sanctions and to boost the hard currency for Kim Jong Un's regime.

Webmaster's Commentary:

US-sanctioned countries see a value in working together, against that entity which has sanctioned them; this is a completely reasonable, and normal development.

And President Trump, a word, please: sanctioning countries (like Iran) for what they absolutely have not done (like alleging them to have violated the P5+1, which the IAEA has stated unequivocally they have not), draws them closer to other US-sanctioned countries like Russia, and soon, China.

So sir, please look for a rapid escalation in the dropping of the US dollar in international trade, and you, and Congress, have no one but yourselves to blame!!

China 'seals off' Yellow Sea for 2nd large-scale naval drill in fortnight

Beijing has declared an area the size of West Virginia off-limits to civilian vessels, ahead of extensive three-day naval exercises near the coast of North Korea. A similar drill took place in the area at the end of July.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What China appears to be telegraphing through these exercises, is that should the US attempt to resolve its issues with North Korea through military force, that force will be responded to with the best weaponry and tactics the Chinese military can present.

President Trump, I would urge extreme caution in how you respond to what North Korea may be doing in the near future; most of the experts whose work I have read on the North Korean missiles program have stated that guidance is their "Achilles's heel", and that this challenge will most likely take them several years to sort.

“The Whole System Will Be Wiped Out” Expert Warns of Financial Meltdown - Tess Pennington

For years there has been a lot of financial noise. While many of us are novices at understanding stocks and economics, one thing is for certain, things are not right. In fact, our economy has not been right since the government’s rescue attempts of the “too big to fail” corporations and the housing bubble that peaked in 2008.

But how much longer can they prop up our financial system? Economic advisors such as Martin Armstrong, developer of the Economic Confidence Model, theorizes that boom-bust cycles occur once every 3,141 days, or 8.6 years (the number pi multiplied by 1000).

His charts warn of a global economic shift occurring where many trends will have reached their life cycle in 2017. If you have been following the stock market, you are well aware of the incredibly inflated stock market prices and over priced real estate markets.

Kunstler Warns "'Russiatosis'... Will Blow Up In America's Face"

Meanwhile, the Treasury Dept is burning through its dwindling cash reserves, and all government activities will face a shutdown at the end of the summer unless congress votes to raise the debt ceiling — which may be way harder than passing the stupid Russia sanctions bill.

FOIA Dump Reveals Collusion Between Lynch, FBI And Media To Bury Bill Clinton Meeting

Back on June 29, 2016, Obama's Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, tried to convince us that the following 'impromptu' meeting between herself and Bill Clinton at the Phoenix airport, a private meeting which lasted 30 minutes on Lynch's private plane, was mostly a "social meeting" in which Bill talked about his grandchildren and golf game. It was not, under any circumstances, related to the statement that former FBI Director James Comey made just 6 days later clearing Hillary Clinton of any alleged crimes related to his agency's investigation.

But, according to a new DOJ FOIA dump just released by the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), it looks increasingly as if nothing reported about this "social meeting" between Lynch and Clinton was grounded in fact...shocking, we know.

Federal Court Tosses Murder Conviction Of Ex-Blackwater Guard In 2007 Iraq Massacre

In a highly unusual decision sure to open old wounds among Iraqis and further prolong an already protracted legal saga, a US appeals court has thrown out the murder conviction of an ex-Blackwater security guard and ordered three co-defendants to be resentenced for their roles in the deadliest incident involving the controversial private security firm to date. The men were responsible for the September 16, 2007 Nisour Square shooting in Baghdad, which killed 14 unarmed Iraqi civilians and wounded 17 others, and threatened to inflame tensions at the height of what was an already bloody and volatile coalition occupation.

Hillary Clinton Hires Two Former Campaign Aides For "Resistance" PAC

Hillary Clinton has hired two political operatives from her 2016 presidential campaign to help manage Onward Together, the project she founded this spring with former governor Howard Dean to fund and support a coalition of Democratic groups led by activists and organizers.

The new additions, Emmy Ruiz and Adam Parkhomenko, held central roles on Clinton’s campaign: Ruiz delivered key victories as state director in Nevada during the primary and in Colorado during the general election; Parkhomenko worked in headquarters as her director of grassroots engagement before moving to the Democratic National Committee. Both served on Clinton’s first presidential bid in 2008.

Dean, the Onward Together co-founder, confirmed the recent hires on Friday.

Draft U.N. resolution would slash N.Korea exports by a third -diplomat

A U.S.-drafted United Nations Security Council resolution aims to slash by a third North Korea's$3 billion annual export revenue by banning the
country's trade of coal, iron, iron ore, lead, lead ore and
seafood, a council diplomat said on Friday.

The diplomat, speaking on condition of anonymity, said there

The United States is aiming for a vote on Saturday to impose

other council members are asking for more time, diplomats said.

A resolution needs nine votes in favor, and no vetoes by the

Germany in three days and France in one hour’ Shock threat to EU from Erdogan backers

WARMONGERING rhetoric is being spewed by Turkey towards Europe after a newspaper close to the Turkish regime declared the country could overrun Germany in three days.

Newspaper Yeni Söz, closely aligned to the government, made the outlandish claim on the front page of its daily newspaper.

Carrying the provocative headline "Turkey can occupy Europe within 3 days”, the move is the latest in a political spat between Ankara and Berlin.

Turkey has been vying to join the EU for more than a decade, with official negotiants to become a member dragging into their 12th year.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attempted to use the migrant crisis as a bargaining chip, striking a deal with Brussels over the crisis in exchange for political sweeteners, which included kick-starting their membership bid.

The paper said: "Friedman said the Turks could defeat Germany in one afternoon and France in one hour, if they have the courage to fight.

This very dangerous rhetoric, coupled with the post-coup, dictatorial crack down behaviour by the Turkish government against its own people, is not helping to improve the relationship between Europe and Turkey one bit.

Self-Congratulation

I blundered into a hot button mine field at the recycling center, silly me. Standing by the bins, I was breaking down cartons with a box-cutter, the plane hijacking tool.

Not only was she not amused, I'd offended her! She stomped off and shunned further interaction.

Actually I'd meant no offense; I've been ruminating self-congratulation as a current societal meme, and a fracturing one. Very strange.

EU Imposes More Sanctions Against Russia, Blacklists Deputy Minister

The European Commission has decided to broaden sanctions against Moscow on Friday. As RT notes, more Russian individuals and firms accused of delivering Siemens gas turbines to the Crimea have been blacklisted.

The updated blacklist includes Russian Deputy Energy Minister Andrey Cherezov, the head of the department of operational control and management in Russia's electric power industry Evgeniy Grabchak and state firm Technopromexport CEO Sergey Topor-Gilka.

As we detailed earlier, this was expected.

The European Union is expected Friday to expand sanctions against Russian individuals and companies that were allegedly involved in the transportation of at least four Siemens turbines to Russian-controlled Crimea in violation of an international ban, according to Reuters.

Shocking Footage Of Saudi Siege Against Own Citizens

The Saudi regime is in the midst of an extreme and brutal crackdown against its own citizenry in the country's Eastern province - a situation now spiraling out of control with rising civilian deaths, entire neighborhoods turned to rubble, and new reports that water and electricity have been cut to the now completely besieged town of Al-Awamiya. Though local activists continue to upload shocking ground level videos to social media revealing that entire districts have been leveled, international and US media have remained largely silent.

Putin Should Thank US for Sanctions: Russia and Iran Ink $2.5 Billion Deal

Russia and Iran signed a $2.5 billion deal on Monday to start up a much-needed rail wagon production operation. The agreement was forged between the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) and Transmashholding, who is Russia’s largest rail equipment supplier. The two sides will set up a new joint venture, which will be 80% owned — although completely funded — by the Russian partner.

Iran is currently in the midst of what could be called an infrastructure building bonanza. Emerging from decades of sanctions which left much of the country’s transportation infrastructure descending into proverbial ruins, Iran has embarked upon a near complete rebuild of its highway and rail networks. The country is expected to add on 15,000 kilometers of new rail lines in the next five years alone — a rapid expansion which is going to require 8,000-10,000 new wagons each year.

Mass Palestinian Outpouring Defeats Israeli Land Grab at al-Aqsa Mosque

Mass civil disobedience of thousands of Palestinian people has defeated an Israeli attempt to take territory around al-Aqsa mosque in occupied East Jerusalem by installing barricades and metal detectors at entrances.

“The spirit of unity amongst Jerusalemites today has been extraordinary. People from all walks of life, practicing Muslims and non-practicing Muslims and even Christians, have taken part in directly protesting the closure of Al-Aqsa. Thousands of jubilant, chanting Palestinian surrounded the Israelis removing the final security obstacles in the early hours of July 27. A celebratory fireworks display was held in the West Bank city of Ramallah.

US Aircraft Carriers May Be Headed to Korean Waters for Forward Deployment

The US Navy may be sending two Nimitz-class supercarriers to the waters surrounding the Korean Peninsula in response to North Korea’s ballistic missile tests.

South Korean military officials reportedly said the USS Ronald Reagan and USS Carl Vinson were being considered for deployment to the region. The Pentagon did not reply to a request from Sputnik News confirming or denying the veracity of the South Korean defense officials’ comments.

USS Carl Vinson Carrier Group Enters Sea of Japan Amid Heightened Security
The carriers would be typical participants in frequently held war games near North Korea and China, however Pentagon officials are reportedly mulling whether or not to fast-track the massive ships as part of a forward deployment.

I would like to hope that China's President Xi Jinping and President Trump are having some back channel discussions on this, although were I President Jinping, I don't know how I would feel about taking Trump's call, after China having been so demonised via Trump's twitter feed.

Russia: Pence Balkans comments expose Washington's Cold War ideology

Accusations made by U.S. Vice President Mike Pence that Russia is working to divide the Balkans from the West are destabilizing southern Europe and expose Washington's Cold War mentality, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.

Pence made the comments on Wednesday in Montenegro on the final leg of a tour designed to reassure Eastern Europe of Washington's commitment to its security despite doubts sowed by U.S. President Donald Trump's lukewarm support for NATO.

"It is regrettable to note that Washington is sliding ever deeper into the primitive ideology of the Cold War era, which is completely detached from reality," the ministry said.

It had called on the United States to stop defaming Russia and its foreign policy, which it said was based on respect for allies and a readiness to work with international partners, the ministry said in a statement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Russian Foreign Ministry has to know to where all this Russia-demonisation is leading: there are those in the bowels of power in DC, who are just mad-dog crazy enough to envision a shooting war with Russia (China, Iran, or North Korea, take your pick) as a way to defuse the coming US economic crash, and to prevent the world from evolving into a more multi-polar economic environment which, ultimately - with the Unhinged, Surveilled State of America in decline - is nearly inevitable.

Unfortunately, those in the bowels of power in this country who desire this outcome, have managed to deliberately stay pig-ignorant of the real state of affairs, when it comes to our military.

I support and respect our military.

But the inevitable hard truth is this; at this moment in its existence, the US military does not have the weaponry; the troop strength; the money; or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome against Russia and/or China (or Russia and Iran; Or China and North Korea.)

As most of you know who read this blog on a regular basis, I abhor war as a method of resolving geopolitical differences; that being said, if war is happening, all of our troops deserve the best of the best of the best, with money well and intelligently spent by the Pentagon, to insure that they get that.

The current military-industrial complex is very content in screwing over the Defense Department, as exemplified by Lockheed Martin's poster child for lousy engineering, non-existent planning, and cost containment, the F-35, which is still plagued with a zillion problems which should have been prevented in the first place.

This culture of non-functional weapons, and massive cost overruns has got to change, and fast.

Air France expands North Korea no-fly zone after missile miss

Air France-KLM (AIRF.PA) has expanded its no-fly zone over North Korea after one of its jets flew past the location where an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) splashed down 10 minutes later, an airline spokesman said on Thursday.

Air France's flight 293, a Boeing (BA.N) 777 carrying 323 people from Tokyo to Paris, missed North Korea's latest ICBM as it fell to earth on July 28 by about 100 km (60 miles), the spokesman said, citing flight data provided by Japan.

Air France-KLM flies direct to Tokyo and Osaka and the expansion of the no-fly zone could make the flights 10 minutes to 30 minutes longer, depending on the direction, the spokesman said.

North Korea said on Saturday its latest ICBM test proved its ability to strike America's mainland, drawing a sharp warning from U.S. President Donald Trump and a rebuke from China.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Google blocked every one of the WSWS’s 45 top search terms

An intensive review of Internet data has established that Google has severed links between the World Socialist Web Site and the 45 most popular search terms that previously directed readers to the WSWS. The physical censorship implemented by Google is so extensive that of the top 150 search terms that, as late as April 2017, connected the WSWS with readers, 145 no longer do so.

These findings make clear that the decline in Google search traffic to the WSWS is not the result of some technical issue, but a deliberate policy of censorship. The fall took place in the three months since Google announced on April 25 plans to promote “authoritative web sites” above those containing “offensive” content and “conspiracy theories.”

Because of these measures, the WSWS’s search traffic from Google has fallen by two-thirds since April.

Russia Sanctions and the Coming Crackdown on Americans

Last week I wrote an article and did an interview explaining that in my reading of the new Russia sanctions bill just signed by President Trump, there is a measure opening the door to a US government crackdown on some of the non-mainstream media. In particular, Section 221 of the “Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act” would punish “persons” who are “engaging in transactions with the intelligence or defense sectors of the Government of the Russian Federation.”

Sound farfetched? Think of it this way (I can assure you the neocons do): if the Russian government and RT are opposed to sanctions and you operate a website that also takes a line in opposition to Russia sanctions are you not doing the work of Russian intelligence? Are you not seeking to influence your readers in a manner that Russian intelligence would want? Are you not “engaging in transactions” even over the airwaves?

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am deeply, personally insulted that the Wa-Pustule didn't include WRH on their list!!

US Likely to Expand UN Talks on North Korea Sanctions

Diplomats familiar with the situation say that the US is likely to expand its talks on trying to get the UN Security Council to impose a new round of sanctions against North Korea for its recent ICBM test, likely to show the resolution to more on the security council members.

It is noteworthy that this behind-the-scenes resolution exists at all, as just days ago, Ambassador Nikki Haley angrily dismissed the seeking any action at the UN Security Council at all, saying that the “time for talk is over.”

But apparently the US and China had been talking about this resolution all along, with the US keeping Britain and France up to date with the situation, and diplomats saying they assume China has shown the resolution to Russia.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What is thoroughly amazing about this, is that China and Russia are still talking to the US diplomatically, after how they were treated by this country!!

Senate Panel Approves Bill to Suspend Aid to Palestinians

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee has voted today 17-4 to pass a bill that would suspend all US financial aid to the Palestinian Authority until they agree to end social programs which Congressmen described as providing a “financial incentive” for terrorism.

The Palestinian General Delegation to the US says the bill is “misinformed,” and that the social programs in question are not intended to reward terror, but rather to provide bare minimum support for Palestinian families who lost their breadwinners to the occupation, noting that the vast majority of those in question were “unduly arrested or killed by Israel.”

That’s not really going to play well in Congress, as Israel has long presented these programs as essentially pay for terror attacks, and of course doesn’t account for the large number of Palestinians in Israeli prisons held without charges, or just on broad suspicion of “incitement.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Whatever Israel and AIPAC want from the US Congress, Israel and AIPAC get!

US plans ‘global’ drills to counter Russia & other 'complex threats' – top US military official

The US military is shifting towards a “more global” exercise program in preparation to deter what they term a “more assertive Russia” as well as countering other complex threats, a senior officer commanding the US forces in Europe has said.
Trends
Russia-NATO relations
“What we’re eventually going toward is a globally integrated exercise program so that we (are)... all working off the same sheet of music in one combined global exercise,” Air Force Brigadier General John Healy, who directs the drills of US forces in Europe told Reuters.

Healy said troops need to be prepared for increasingly complex threats across all domains of war – land, sea, air, space and cyber sphere. The general went on to say the training must include rehearsing possible conflicts and take into account the global nature of the military threats facing the US.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Russia has nothing to justify this demonisation against it; the world is watching how the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America continues invading country after country - Afghanistan; Iraq; Syria; and Somalia- in order to accomplish regime change, and is very concerned about what the next country in the USSA's cross-hairs might be.

Right now, were I a betting woman, I would bet that the next two countries on the USSA's "high interest targets" list for a regime change do-over, are Iran and North Korea, although not necessarily in that order.

A letter from H.R. McMaster said Susan Rice will keep her top-secret security clearance

Almost one month after it was disclosed that former President Obama's National Security Adviser Susan Rice was unmasking members of President Trump’s team and other Americans, Trump’s own national security adviser, H.R. McMaster, sent an official letter giving her unfettered and continuing access to classified information and waiving her “need-to-know” requirement on anything she viewed or received during her tenure, Circa has confirmed.

The undated and unclassified letter from McMaster was sent in the mail to Rice's home during the last week of April. Trump was not aware of the letter or McMaster’s decision, according to two senior West Wing officials and an intelligence official, who spoke to Circa on condition that they not be named.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. McMaster, a word please: how, and why the hell did you let this happen?!?

BAE, BRITAIN’S LARGEST ARMS MAKER, POSTS RECORD PROFITS

Britain’s largest defense firm has made $733 m in six months, and expects further growth, in results posted weeks after surviving a High Court challenge to its multi-billion-dollar arms deals with Saudi Arabia.

BAE Systems lauded the sale of Typhoon jets to Oman and noted its court victory over anti-arms trade campaigners in the results, saying net profits soared 36 percent to £555 m ($733 m) in the six months to the end of June, compared with £408 m a year earlier.

It said profits were boosted by UK government defense spending and a weak pound following Britain’s decision to leave the European Union. Sales forged almost 10 percent higher to stand at £9.565 bn.

Charles Woodburn, BAE’s chief executive, said: “BAE Systems’ performance in the first half was consistent with our expectations and guidance for the year.

“We have a sound platform for medium-term growth underpinned by a clear and consistent strategy.

Webmaster's Commentary:

SHOCKING EMAILS REVEAL EDITOR OF FOOD SCIENCE JOURNAL WAS SECRETLY ON MONSANTO’S PAYROLL

The following bombshell story appears on GM Watch and was published on August 2, 2017. It appears on the same day that the New York Times published another bombshell story revealing Forbes.com to be a propaganda rag for Monsanto. What’s abundantly clear in all this is how Monsanto’s web of criminality, lies and deceit is rapidly unraveling, and the evil corporation is facing billions of dollars in damages from multiple lawsuits across the country.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If one has followed the actions of this evil corporate empire, one can hardly be shocked; after all, criminality, propaganda, bribery and fraud are all how Monsanto does business.

YOUTUBE'S NEW ADL THOUGHT POLICE PUNISH CONSERVATIVES WHILE GIVING FAR-LEFT EXTREMISTS A PASS

YouTube recently teamed up with the ultra-liberal Anti Defamation League (ADL) for their 'Trusted Flaggers Program' to determine what people should and shouldn't be allowed to watch, as we continue the march towards a nanny state supported by the technocratic left.

Originally organized to combat anti-Semitism, the ADL - with it's Soros-linked National director who last worked in the Obama admin, now spouts hyperbolic propaganda against conservatives - while failing to apply the same nebulous standards to the left. For example, their recent push to lump all Trump supporters in with white supremacists, while insulating progressives from far-left organizations such as the anti-Semitic black nationalist hate group New Black Panthers, and the increasingly violent Antifa.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a thoroughly predictable "marriage" between the ADL and Youtube; one which will censor out and eliminate any content which is even the slightest bit logically critical of Israel's policies toward both the Palestinians, and its neighbors in the Middle East.

FEDERAL COURT RULES UNLICENSED PETS ARE ‘CONTRABAND’ — POLICE CAN LEGALLY KILL THEM

A federal court just ruled that cops were not responsible for killing a woman's three dogs because her pets were legally considered contraband.

Detroit, MI – Nikita Smith filed a lawsuit against the Detroit Police Department after they killed her three dogs during a raid of her home in search of pot last year. On Wednesday, a judge absurdly ruled the dogs were considered “contraband,” noting that Smith had no legal basis to sue the police department for shooting and killing her dogs, due to the canines not having been properly licensed.

Subsequently, the federal civil rights lawsuit filed by Smith after a raid of her home by the Detroit police was dismissed by U.S. District Court Judge George Caram Steeh.

Israeli police confirm Netanyahu is suspect in fraud investigation

Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has been named as a suspect in two investigations into allegations of “fraud, breach of trust and bribes” with his former chief of staff signing a deal with prosecutors to testify against him.

The moves mark the most serious political crisis for the Israeli leader, the only prime minister to rival founding father David Ben-Gurion for longevity in office.

The suspicions against Netanyahu, who denies any wrongdoing, were first revealed in a court application by detectives on Thursday seeking a gag order on reporting details of negotiations with Ari Harow, the former chief of staff, to become a state witness. Talks were concluded on Friday with Harow signing a deal in which he agreed to testify.

According to a statement from the Israel Police, Harow is expected to receive six months of community service and a fine of $193,000 on separate breach of trust charges – rather than a prison sentence – in exchange for his testimony.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So that's why Prime Minister Netanyahu instigated that mess at Temple Mount; as a distraction!

He is now, deeply politically wounded by these accusations; a politically wounded leader is highly dangerous; we need to watch what other destruction and deaths he may attempt to initiate to further distract both the Israelis and the world, from his upcoming corruption trial woes.

HOW MAINSTREAM U.S. ‘NEWS’ MEDIA PUMP THEIR GOVERNMENT’S LIES TO DECEIVE THE PUBLIC

The August 7th issue of a neoconservative Republican Party magazine, The Weekly Standard, headlines “Trump Got This One Right: Shutting down the CIA’s ghost war in Syria,” and doesn’t attack the previous, Democratic, President, for having initiated and run that “ghost war,” and doesn’t make clear what it was, or why it was being waged, but does say hostile things against the leaders both of Russia and of Syria, such as that “Putin … has the blood of many Syrian civilians on his hands,” and allegations also against the Syrian government, such as:

Russian and Syrian jets have indiscriminately and repeatedly bombed civilian targets. The Assad regime has used chemical weapons, which Trump himself objected to, bombing a Syrian airfield in response. The United States cannot endorse these war crimes by allying itself with the perpetrators of mass murder in Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The presstitutes and whoresspondents lie continuously, in order to serve their governmental masters, and create a false narrative to demonise such countries as Russia, China, Syria, and Iran.

Look for this demonisation to crescendo to the point where we may well see the Unhinged Surveilled States of America start war, or declare war, ultimately, against all of the above named countries.

“MOTHER OF ALL BOMBS”: THE DARK SIDES OF AFGHANISTAN’S MOAB TRAGEDY ARE UNFOLDING

The use of destructive weapon as such could kill several birds with one stone. It earned Donald Trump somewhat uplift in status amid disgraces whirling around White House at that time. It also played a commercial advertisement for purchasers of the US arms, in part for being over-hyped.

In an interview, an Afghan environment protection expert explained that MOAB-like bombs exposes hazardous chemicals into air that causes cancer, respiratory and digestive problems, deformities in babies, strokes, high blood pressure and weakened vision. It severely contaminates food and water that even stay afloat to affect next generation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President, I am peacefully, and politely, putting you on notice: in my world, there is no such thing as "collateral damage."

Sir, the reality is we are talking about brother and sister human beings who have been deafened; blinded; hit with aggressive cancers and birth defects; and outright assassinated, in order to control the oil pipelines and mineral deposits in Afghanistan.

We have never had the moral high ground in this war, or at all been on the right side of history; this is why US/NATO troops have lost control of huge amounts of territory to the Taliban.

It is high time, sir, that the US and NATO bring their troops home, as quickly as is safely possible, and negotiate with whatever government left standing in Kabul for the pipeline and mineral rights.

BIG DATA + PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE = GAME OVER

Once big data systems agglomerate enough data about you to predict whether you are likely to get sick or badly injured, insurers will be able to deny coverage (or charge so much for it that it amounts to the same thing) to anyone who is likely to get sick, forcing everyone who might ever need insurance into medical bankruptcy, and turning Medicaid into a giant "high-risk pool" that taxpayers foot the bill for.

For this to happen, we only need for insurers to have discretion over whom they insure (something they lost under Obamacare) and for insurers to not care too much if they over-exclude a few low-risk people who false-positived into the big data "high-risk" bucket -- when you go fishing with a dragnet, you always get a few dolphins along with your tuna.

The existence of more personal health data and better algorithms for sorting it suggest that private medical insurance is just incompatible with 21st century technology.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is why everyone out there needs to educate themselves on nutrition and supplements. Knowledge is power here, folks.

For example, when did your MD happen to mention that magnesium and zinc supplements are effective tools in helping people deal with depression?!?

The Role of magnesium and zinc in depression

CHINA UNVEILS EMERGENCY DRILL TO "SHUT DOWN HARMFUL WEBSITES"

China's 19th National Congress of the Communist Party - the quinquennial confab where the party selects new members of the Politburo, its ruling council - is expected to begin this fall (official dates have not yet been publicly announced). And in an effort to guarantee that the leadership reshuffle goes off without a hitch, President Xi Jinping is tightening the government’s grip on the internet to help protect the official narrative that Xi's "Chinese Dream" remains intact.

According to Reuters, China held a drill on Thursday with internet service providers to practice taking down websites deemed harmful.

“Internet data centers (IDC) and cloud companies - which host website servers - were ordered to participate in a three-hour drill to hone their "emergency response" skills, according to at least four participants that included the operator of Microsoft's cloud service in China.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF "harmful information" translates into "truthful information" for the Chinese government, you should be prepared to see these kinds of shut downs start to happen right here in the good old Unhinged, Surveilled States of America.

MONSANTO'S LAWYERS FORGOT TO ASK A COURT TO SUPPRESS DAMNING EVIDENCE ABOUT CANCER AND CORRUPT SCIENCE

Monsanto is facing over 100 lawsuits in a Federal district court in San Francisco brought by people who attribute their non-Hodgkin's lymphoma to exposure to glyphosate in Monsanto's Roundup weed-killer, and as part of the discovery process, it submitted internal documents to the court that detailed shenanigans in the company's internal science and its dealings with regulators and the press.

Then Monsanto's lawyers neglected to a motion seeking continued protection of the confidential documents, believing that a "a standing confidentiality order" was in place, something that the plaintiff's lawyers disagree with, which is why they released a huge tranche of damning memos.

Georgia To Roll Out Tens Of Thousands Of CCTV Cameras With Real-Time Facial Recognition Capabilities

Teenage boys given electric shocks inside police station in Bahrain

Two Bahraini teenagers have reportedly been subjected to electric shocks by police during questioning as the ruling Al Khalifah regime continues to target minors, arrest and expose them to various forms of torture irrespective of international calls to stop the practice.

The family of 16-year-old Mohammed Ibrahim Abdel-Jabbar, a local resident of the northwestern village of Bani Jamra, said their son had told them of being electrocuted at the Dawar 17 police station before authorities transferred him to the Dry Dock Prison, Arabic-language Bahrain al-Youm news agency reported.

They added that Mohammed Ibrahim, looking pale and gaunt, made the revelation during a family reunion on Wednesday.

The family explained that their son has been in custody pending investigation into alleged charges related to political activities.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I wish that President Trump would relocate the 5th Naval Fleet from Bahrain, because of the barbaric, monumental cruelty peace activists in this country have to put up with; but it's not going to happen.

Those alleged American values of human rights, democracy, and participatory democracy get absolutely, well and truly flushed when the US government is dealing with a country which buys a lot of of its military toys from the Unhinged Surveilled States of America.

Trump set to approve weapons sales to Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, which were blocked by Obama

YOUTUBE TAKES CONTROVERSIAL STEPS TO CENSOR NON-LEFTISTS

Stating that the content is “controversial,” not the censorship itself, YouTube has taken the first few steps to censor dissenting views. But it gets worse. YouTube will also begin to censor your searches and fill the results with propaganda while on its website.

Last night, YouTube took to its “Official Blog” to more or less announce that they would be taking steps to censor content they determined to be “controversial,” even if that content didn’t break any laws or violate the site’s user agreement. The message made a pledge to be part of an effort to “fight terror content online.” But the move was rightly met with widespread skepticism among YouTuber’s as nothing more than a thinly-veiled attempt to censor conservative speech.

Why is it that Canada (and other nations) are so determined to ensure that the population is unable to adequately protect themselves? The Mask Is Off: Trump Is Seeking War with Iran

Something extraordinary has happened in Washington. President Donald Trump has made it clear, in no uncertain terms and with no effort to disguise his duplicity, that he will claim that Tehran is cheating on the nuclear deal by October—the facts be damned. In short, the fix is in. Trump will refuse to accept that Iran is in compliance and thereby set the stage for a military confrontation. His advisors have even been kind enough to explain how they will go about this. Rarely has a sinister plan to destroy an arms control agreement and pave the way for war been so openly telegraphed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Just because something is the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America can do, is absolutely no guarantee that it won't do it.

The Trump Administration, has succumbed to a very dangerous syndrome of blaming countries (like Russia and Iran) for things they did not do, toward establishing a geopolitical narrative against them, then punishing them with sanctions, or...potentially worse, like a military confrontation with either country.

And I would like to politely remind President Trump that if he goes to war against Iran, that may well mean war with Russia.

Russian military and civilian leadership has publicly stated that should Iran be attacked, Russia will come to its aid militarily.

At this point in its history, the US military does not have the weaponry; the troop strength; the manufacturing; or the money to insure a positive outcome in a war with Russia in Iran.

Additionally, I would like to politely suggest to President Trump that such a confrontation will make the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America's leadership look as though it has collectively gone foaming at the mouth, barking dog mad.

The IAEA has a long history of thoroughness, getting the job done, and has commanded a great deal of respect throughout its history.

Are you going to label the members of the IAEA doing these inspections idiots, by your making the claim that Iran is not in compliance?!?

How do you expect to suppress what their inspections conclusions about their inspections of Iran's nuclear sites?!?

Mr. President, if you continue in this dark direction, you will be dragging the American people into a completely unnecessary war, with a horrific cost in American blood and money.

Of course, that's what your BFFs, Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, and Saudi Arabia's Prince Salman urgently wants to see happen; the "neutralisation of their alleged existential threat in the Middle East".

And BTW, Mr. President: have either of them committed troops or arms for such a military misadventure?!?

Thought not.

69% Oppose AIPAC’s ‘Israel Anti-Boycott Act’

Results from a comprehensive public opinion poll of 2,500 American adults fielded through Google Surveys reveal widespread opposition to the top lobbying initiative of Israel’s US lobby in America, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).

Question: Congress may pass the Israel Anti-Boycott Act to punish Americans up to $1 million in fines & 20 years in prison for economic boycotts of Israel over human rights violations.

Webmaster's Commentary:

My bet is that Congress will pass this Frankenstinian Amendment, and soon, no matter what the American people think; they are so far from "representing" their alleged constituents that they don't give a damn what we think and want.

And there is one truly brave Senator from New York, who has decided to pull her support from the bill; this is Senator Kristen Gillibrand, who has become my heroine for her stance, even though she fully understands that AIPAC will most probably "reward" her by destroying her chances for re-election if she runs again.

Senator Gillibrand pulls support for Israel Anti-Boycott Act

In an act unprecedented in recent history, US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand took a stand this week in support of the right of Americans to boycott Israel by formally withdrawing her sponsorship of S.720, the Israel Anti-Boycott Act.

The New York Democrat’s withdrawal of her sponsorship comes after constituents repeatedly pressed her on her support of the bill at town hall meetings in New York City.

On 22 July in the Bronx, Gillibrand affirmed that “we are all allowed to boycott” in response to a constituent who laid out his concerns that the bill would criminalize those supporting boycotts of Israel.

At another town hall in Queens on 31 July, Gillibrand stated in response to similar concerns that she would not support the bill in its current form. She made good on her promise by notifying the Senate on 1 August that she wished to withdraw her sponsorship of the bill.

Webmaster's Commentary:

‘We are ready': If US sanctions hurt European interests, EU can react ‘within days’ – Juncker

Europe will come up with an “adequate” response and “within days” if the newly-signed US anti-Russian sanctions law hurts the interests of European companies working with Russia, European Commission Head Jean-Claude Juncker has warned.

European interests should be always taken into account when it comes to enabling new US sanctions, Juncker said in an interview to the German ARD-Europastudio Brussel.

“We must defend our economic interests even against the US. And that is what we are going to do," Juncker said.

“We are ready,” he added, pointing out that EU reserves the right to take retaliatory measures in case its interests are violated. He also drew attention to the fact that the newly-signed US law can have “unpredictable” consequences for the EU in the field of energy security.

‘FULL-FLEDGED ECONOMIC WAR’: MEDVEDEV SLAMS TRUMP’S ‘HUMILIATING’ CAVE-IN ON RUSSIA SANCTIONS

The US establishment has fully outwitted Donald Trump and used his administration’s weakness to declare a fully-fledged economic war on Russia, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has said, adding, that the move leaves no doubt that bilateral ties will never improve.

On Wednesday, Donald Trump signed into law a bill imposing new sanctions on Russia, which Medvedev says has put an end to “hopes for improving our relations with the new US administration.”

“It is a declaration of a full-fledged economic war on Russia,” he wrote in a lengthy strong-worded Facebook post in both English and Russian. “Unless a miracle happens,” the law will affect US-Russian relations for decades, Medvedev wrote.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Medvedev is absolutely correct in his assessment.

The demonisation of Russia continues in the articles by the presstitutes and whorespondents, and there is an unmistakable crescendo in the beating the drums for war against it.

Russia neither annexed Crimea, nor can be proven to have meddled in the 2016 elections; with the installation of these sanctions, Russia is getting punished for what it absolutely has not done.

There are many in the American Deep State who salivate over a potential shooting war with Russia, to prevent the rise of the ruble, and the decline in the US dollar in economic markets, and obfuscate the reality that Russian military hardware is in great demand, as it has been tested, and performed brilliantly, in Syria. Unlike US weapons (like the epic fail which is the continuing military nightmare of Lockheed Martin's F-35), Russia's weapons actually work as advertised on the battlefield.

Prime Minister Medvedev, unfortunately, this is precisely the agenda of the Deep American State right now; it is no "accident" that NATO and US troops are surrounding and encircling Russia right now, with large military exercises nearly at your very border.

At the moment, both the State Department and Pentagon are putting forward proposals to President Trump about the best way to arm Ukraine, as reported two days ago at the New York Times:

The Pentagon and State Department are Presenting Proposals to Arm Ukraine

Should President Trump follow through, and sign off on this, this act will be tantamount to the US government having declared war on Russia.

I am hoping - and praying - that the logical, peaceful, and reasonable challenges of a robust independent media to such a war can possibly prevent this; but right now, I am seeing the wheels of impending wars in motion at almost too great a velocity to overcome.

But at the moment, with the American economy poised on the sheer cliff edge of total collapse, there are, unfortunately, many in the bowels of power in this country who feel that a war - against any country they don't particularly like - is the only way to prevent such a collapse, or hide its true origins, which have resulted from intense governmental deficit spending, coupled with lousy errors in judgement by the US's Federal Reserve.

Surge in Israeli attacks on journalists

During the two weeks of sustained Palestinian protests in occupied East Jerusalem over Israel’s attempts to tighten control over the al-Aqsa mosque compound, press groups monitored a surge in violations against journalists.

The Ramallah-based Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedoms (MADA) recorded dozens of violations committed by Israeli occupation forces, who reportedly attacked, arrested and threatened journalists covering Palestinian protests in the city.

Israeli police barred journalists from entering the Old City of Jerusalem, while Israeli settlers and tourists entered freely.

Google’s Tracking Of Offline Spending Sparks Call For Federal Investigation

Google recently announced a suite of new tools for advertisers, allowing them to link a customer’s offline credit card purchases with the things they look at online. Shockingly, some privacy advocates think this sort of tracking goes too far and have called on the federal government to investigate.

The Electronic Privacy Information Center this morning filed a complaint [PDF] with the Federal Trade Commission, asking the agency to investigate Google’s Store Sales Management consumer profiling technology and stop the company from tracking customers’ in-store purchases.

According to EPIC, Google’s system, which can allegedly track 70% of all credit and debt card transactions in the U.S., puts the personal information — including product searches, location searches and payment information — of shoppers and Internet users at risk of hacks or other data breaches.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This cyber-spying on individuals by large corporations, like Google, has just reached epidemic proportions, and needs to be stopped.

WIKILEAKS RELEASES DOCS ON ‘DUMBO’ CIA TOOL ALLOWING CONTROL OF WEBCAMS

WikiLeaks released new documents on Thursday within the Vault 7 documents, which contain information on CIA’s hacking tools from the Dumbo project.

“Dumbo is a capability to suspend processes utilizing webcams and corrupt any video recordings that could compromise a PAG deployment. The PAG (Physical Access Group) is a special branch within the CCI (Center for Cyber Intelligence); its task is to gain and exploit physical access to target computers in CIA field operations,” WikiLeaks said in a press release.

The tool allows for the identification, control and manipulation of the monitoring and detection systems, like webcams and microphones, on a target computer running the Microsoft Windows operating system. It requires a direct access to the computer as it is run from an USB stick.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Folks, here's the deal with me: I am a Christian Activist Pacifist, who never advocates violence, but implores her country to engage in logical, moral, hard-won negotiations as the way to resolve the US government's geopolitical differences.

I blog, and I do my level best to be fact-centric.

So how in the name of heaven, please, does this make me a "threat" to this government?!?

WINGS FOR HIRE? EX-BLACKWATER CEO ERIK PRINCE REPORTEDLY OFFERING PRIVATE AIR FORCE FOR AFGHAN WAR

Former Blackwater founder Erik Prince, who earlier urged Donald Trump to appoint a US “viceroy” to win the Afghan war, has reportedly pitched up a “business proposal” to Kabul, offering a fully-fledged private air force to back the local army’s operations.

Prince, the founder and former CEO of private military company Blackwater (now rebranded Academi), has floated a business proposal offering a privately-manned “turn-key composite air wing” to the Afghan government, whose troops steadily lose ground to the Taliban, the Military Times reported on Thursday.

Prince's plan, cited by the newspaper, was reportedly submitted to the Afghans back in March. It includes providing “high speed response” as well as close-air support for Afghanistan’s army fighting the Islamists. The private air force’s fixed-wing planes, attack helicopters and drones would be flown by hired pilots, but “weapons release decisions will still be made by Afghans.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Blackwater, now rebranded as Academi, failed spectacularly in Iraq:

The Dark Truth About Blackwater

Blackwater’s Baghdad massacre is a reminder of how the US became what it hated in Iraq

Blackwater and the Iraq Water Time Warp

Before shooting in Iraq, a warning on Blackwater

Iraq war logs: military privatisation run amok

Nisour Square Massacre

Academi's, and Prince's "strategic thinking" (if one can call it that), has not changed, no matter how much carnage and loathing they created in Iraq.

The Afghani government needs to think very carefully about hiring anyone Prince suggests at this point in Afghanistan's history, and review their epic, and spectacular fail in Iraq.

And to President Trump, Congress, the State Department, and the Pentagon; who, please, is going to be paying for this operation?!? American taxpayers, after the extent of Blackwater's epic fail in Iraq?!?

Mr. President, and to anyone in his administration (or any of the "Alphabet Soup Agencies" who read this blog), there is no military metric by which we can characterise the US/NATO occupation of Afghanistan a success, 16 years on.

This country is not called "the grave of empires" for no good reason.

The only guy who was EVER able to hold this country together, by a system of alliances and arranged marriages, was Alexander the Great; and that was only for 3 years.

Mr. President, the only intelligent thing to do now, unless you want to commit 500,000 troops to this war (which we do not, and will not have, unless you and Congress order a return of the draft), is to remove US and NATO troops from Afghanistan as quickly as safely possible, then negotiate with whatever government left standing in Kabul for the oil pipeline rights, and the mineral rights.

After all the blood and money spent here, this is the only moral, and right thing to do.

You inherited this war from your Village Idiot Predecessor, President George Bush, enabled by Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld, via their "magical thinking" to believe that a minimum number of troops would be all that it would take to invade and hold this country.

They were spectacularly, entirely wrong in this; and the cost in American lives, lost on the premise of a big fat lie, spun to convince the American people that this war was just, when the real goal was to control Afghani oil pipelines, has been enough, sir.

This is not your dishonor, or your failure. You simply got stuck with this.

Time to rethink Afghanistan, Mr. President, and do the right thing.

NEWLY UNEARTHED CIA MEMO: MEDIA ARE THE "PRINCIPAL VILLAINS"

A new declassified CIA report unearthed by the FOIA investigative cooperative MuckRock contains some shocking commentary on how the intelligence community views and interacts with the media. The 1984 series of internal memos, part of the CIA’s recent CREST release (CIA Records Search Tool) of over 900,000 newly declassified documents, were drafted in response to a study on unauthorized leaks and disclosures written by legendary CIA officer Eloise Page.

The most startling sections from the CIA memos - all marked "SECRET" - reveal how CIA views the first amendment and journalistic freedoms: "Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and the power of the media to publish in this country is nearly absolute."

Below are among the most significant sections from the 1984 formerly Secret report.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The utter and complete contempt, flavored by fear and loathing of a free press, which is thoroughly and flagrantly expressed in this CIA memo, is damning in the extreme.

These people are not there to protect We the People; they exist only to protect the Deep State in this country, and its warmongering, financial, and hegemonic agenda.

Petitioning Senator Kamala Harris and 8 othersJustice for 19 yr old girl beaten by police and maliciously attacked by K9 police dog.

Tatyana Hargrove is a 19 yr old girl who was beaten by Bakersfield police and maliciously attacked by a K9 police dog while riding her bike home. The reason? Police say they mistook her for an adult male suspect but throughout the encounter, Tatyana was never told why she was being arrested. “After they beat me and threw me in the cop car, that’s when they told me,” she said.

Tatyana stopped for a moment while riding her bike when she saw three police cars and an officer pointing a gun at here. Police asked if she was just a grocery store where earlier that day police received a report of a man with a machete who attempted to stab an employee. They were looking for a 30-year-old black male nearly 6 feet tall with shaved head and goatee and weighing 160lbs. Tatyana is 5 feet, 2 inches tall and only weighs 120 pounds.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is insane! Not one of those cops realized they had a totally wrong person?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Shrug at the News: US Scrubs Global Mission to Promote Democracy

According to internal State Department emails obtained by the Western press outlets, Secretary of State Tillerson has ordered the department to redefine its stated mission. A draft that was circulated within the department read:

“We promote the security, prosperity, and interests of the American people globally. The State Department will strive to lead America's foreign policy through global advocacy, action and assistance to shape a safer, more prosperous world."

This contrasts with the department's mission statement from 2016, which defined its purpose as shaping and sustaining "a peaceful, prosperous, just, and democratic world and fostering conditions for stability and progress for the benefit of the American people and people everywhere."

Turkey Bans Concerts, Hunger Strikes, Public Gatherings And Protests In Ankara

In the latest Turkish crackdown on civil freedoms, the governor's office in Turkey's capital, Ankara, announced a month-long ban on public gatherings and all forms of protests, including sit-ins, hunger strikes, concerts and similar gatherings in order to "protect public order" claiming that such activities increase the chances of terrorist attacks. The statement from the Ankara governor's office was released amid fears of protests following the arrest of two Turkish teachers, Nuriye Gulmen and Semih Ozakca, who have been on hunger-strike for 140 days after losing their jobs during the public sector purges that followed the failed coup in July 2016.

The governor's office said all mass events such as sit-ins, hunger-strikes and open-air concerts offered a target to groups like the Islamic State terror organization and are therefore to be banned in Ankara throughout the month of August.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What Erdogan is going to accomplish, with these Draconian moves, is to create a brain drain, where the best and brightest Turks will find ways to flee the country, possibly forever.

Special Counsel Mueller Adds Another Obama Ally To His Team

With each passing day, it's looking increasingly like the only people qualified to serve on Special Counsel Mueller's investigative team are lawyers who have either directly worked for and/or contributed to the campaigns of Barack Obama and/or Hillary Clinton. As Reuters points out today, Mueller's latest hire is Greg Andres, a former DOJ attorney who was appointed during the Obama administartion and served under Attorney General Eric Holder.

A former U.S. Justice Department official has become the latest lawyer to join special counsel Robert Mueller's team investigating Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election, a spokesman for the team confirmed.

Greg Andres started on Tuesday, becoming the 16th lawyer on the team, said Josh Stueve, a spokesman for the special counsel.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump should fire Sessions and Mueller during Congressional Summer Recess, and appoint a new AG during that time.
