The Notorious Allen Dulles Prodded Japan into Pearl Harbor As CFR Secretary

Later-infamous CIA director Allen Dulles and Hamilton Fish Armstrong were the editors of Foreign Affairs at the Council on Foreign relations when they advocated an aggressive foreign policy – push on the State Dept – that provocated the Pearl Harbor attack, the neeeded pretext – an attack – that would allow the elite to drag America into the war.

Cato: Hawaii Ranks 48th in Freedom, Near Top in Cronyism

Hawaii has long had one of the lowest levels of economic freedom in the country, but it now also has fallen behind on personal freedom, despite the enactment of same-sex marriage in 2013. Even with its huge locational rents, Hawaii has experienced net outflow of residents to the rest of the United States since at least the beginning of the past decade.

$400 million to Iran - and who else is connected?

Here a link to an article about both Jarret and Abedin with Iranian and Muslim Brotherhood connections also closely connected to 0bama and Hillary. Might those $400 millions secretly shipped to Iran have partly returned or are awaiting those 4 mentioned above? One has to wonder.
Worth investigating.

Julian Assange: “1,700 emails” proves Hillary Clinton sold weapons to ISIS in Syria

“A vote today for Hillary Clinton is a vote for endless, stupid war,” - Julian Assange

In Obama’s second term, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton authorized the shipment of American-made arms to Qatar, a country beholden to the Muslim Brotherhood, and friendly to the Libyan rebels, in an effort to topple the Libyan/Gaddafi government, and then ship those arms to Syria in order to fund Al Qaeda, and topple Assad in Syria.

Clinton took the lead role in organizing the so-called “Friends of Syria” (aka Al Qaeda/ISIS) to back the CIA-led insurgency for regime change in Syria.

9NEWS’ Brandon Rittiman interviews Donald Trump

Donald Trump: You look at how horribly are veterans are being taken care of.

BRANDON RITTIMAN: So, I want to start by asking. Hillary Clinton did make history. I know she’s not your favorite person, but she made history by becoming the first female presidential nominee from a major party in American history.

Do you acknowledge that? Is that a positive step for the country?

TRUMP: She’s got bad judgment. Everything she’s touched has turned bad. Whether it’s Syria, or Libya, or the migration, or the beginning of the Iran deal. She’s got horrible judgment. She voted for the war in Iraq. Another mistake. She was in favor of NAFTA. Another mistake. She’s got bad judgment.

We’re going to have a woman president, but it shouldn’t be her. She would be catastrophic for our country.

Number sickened in Hawaii Hepatitis A outbreak hits 135

The outbreak of Hepatitis A in the islands has now sickened 135 people, the state Health Department said Wednesday.

What you need to know about Oahu's Hepatitis A outbreak
State investigating outbreak of Hepatitis A on Oahu
All cases have been in adults, and 39 have required hospitalization.

The total number of cases statewide is up by 42 people since last week. The onset of illness ranges from June 12 to July 24.

This is by far the largest outbreak of Hepatitis A in the islands in decades. State health officials said the outbreak appears to be focused on Oahu, but its source remains unclear. Seven of those who have been sickened live on the Neighbor Islands; one visitor has returned to the mainland.

The last outbreak of Hepatitis A in the United States happened in 2013, and was linked to frozen pomegranate seeds from Turkey.

The Stolen Nation of Hawaii

Produced by Ken Nichols O'Keefe in early 2001, this is the virtually unknown story of Hawaii and the hidden Genocide being committed by the American government with the use of 'blood quantum' for the purpose of eliminating the Hawaiian national; and the reason America does this? Because according to their own laws, America never lawfully annexed Hawaii*, therefore according to law Hawaii never became a state, and if the Hawaiian land was never lawfully annexed, the only true claimant to the land, is the Hawaiian national.

Kilauea lava flow elicits crowds, smiles

Is the volcano goddess Pele smiling?

Volcano videographer Mick Kalber, of Tropical Visions Video, captured this image on video of what appears to be a crooked smiley face in the lava lake at Puu Oo vent on Wednesday, a day after lava reached the ocean from the Puu Oo.

The cracks of bright molten lava in the lake are formed as lava circulates and the black, semi-solid lake surface pulls apart.

At the Kamokuna ocean entry, the sight of the lava falling over a steep ocean cliff to the sea has attracted thousands of visitors.

In Signal to Military, Hillary Clinton Picks Senator Tim Kaine as Running Mate

In selecting Kaine, Clinton is making clear that she plans on running a right-wing, pro-war campaign targeted at winning over the military and sections of the Republican Party dissatisfied with Trump, and particularly with the Republican candidate’s attitude toward Russia. Clinton also wanted to repudiate any association with the issues of social inequality that motivated the widespread support for her main rival in the primaries, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

Kaine is among the most hawkish figures among Senate Democrats. As governor of Virginia from 2006 to 2010, Kaine oversaw billions of dollars in cuts to the state budget. The state of Virginia is a major center for the military and defense industry, and is home to the Pentagon and the headquarters of the CIA.

Between 2009 and 2011, Kaine served as the head of the Democratic National Committee, the leadership body of the Democratic Party. He is close to Wall Street, having recently backed measures to deregulate banks.

“There is no greater calling….

“To the veteran tuning into this speech from his or her hospital, whose been ignored and disrespected by an ungrateful system, my father is running for you….

“Vote for the one candidate who does not need this job.”

Jill Stein Just BLASTED the DNC Over Leaked Emails

“This latest revelation from WikiLeaks underscores how much the media is in bed with the DNC to circle the wagons around Hillary,” Stein told US Uncut in a phone interview. “The corruption and underhanded tactics and deception and conspiratorial efforts to silence Bernie and delegitimize him — I mean, welcome to the Green Party. This is what we’ve been up against forever.”

“The leaked DNC emails are the smoking gun that the Democratic establishment was rigging the game against Bernie the whole time,” Stein said in a press release issued by her campaign. “Instead of running the process impartially and letting the voters decide, top Democratic officials were doing all they could to ensure a Clinton victory, including collusion with journalists to present a pro-Clinton, anti-Sanders narrative.”

Donald Trump and the Revolt of the Proles

The Trump phenom is about economic insecurity. This isn’t about ideology, or racism, it’s about reality;

Western elites were shocked by Brexit, shocked that all their fear mongering and finger-wagging amounted to nothing. The same is true in the US, where the media’s daily attacks on Trump have failed to erode his base of support at all, in fact, they may have added to it.

That’s the reality that made Trump possible, and that’s what this election is about, economic insecurity.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Current track has the storm center right over us on Oahu 2AM Monday. The storm is also strengthening.

Now, one factor does not appear to be included in the computer models, and that is what happens when the storm passes over that huge plume of heat rising from the volcanoes on the southern part of the Big Island. Hillary Rebuffs Bernie’s Policy Demands

Eager to hold the political “center,” Hillary Clinton has budged little on Bernie Sanders’s policy proposals beyond nice-sounding platitudes, a strategy that could lead to clashes at the Democratic convention, says Lawrence Davidson.

Hillary Clinton has pursued the presidency for almost a decade with a tenacious determination. She almost achieved the nomination in 2008 only to lose to Barack Obama. That led to an eight-year stifling of this ambition.

Finally, in the long run-up to the 2016 election, she was convinced the nomination was hers.

Jeremy Corbyn gives #Chilcot statement

The much-edited Chilcot Report finally arrived and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has issued a pretty-sounding apology for his party’s decision to go to war in Iraq in 2003. He called it the most serious foreign policy calamity of the last 60 years and “a stain on our party and country”.

It’s unfortunate that he dignifies the evil Iraq war conspiracy by suggesting it had anything to do with policy of the British people. It was a private venture, pledged in secret, by a Labour prime minister and his closest henchmen, and backed by the Cabinet.

Homeless count up: Report shows Hawaii Island increased by 153

The Hawaii Point-In-Time Count, an annual survey of the state’s homeless population, was released Wednesday, and the results were a mixed bag of both encouraging and disconcerting numbers.

The homeless tally statewide increased from 7,620 to 7,921, a jump of 301 homeless individuals, or a total increase of 4 percent. That movement is moderate, however, when compared to leaps made in the previous two years. The homeless population rose by 583 individuals (9.2 percent) between 2013-14 and by 702 individuals (10.1 percent) between 2014-15.

Whether the inflated numbers can or should be spun as a positive simply because they’re expanding more gradually than before is open to discussion.

And I’m wondering what it is I should do,

Losing control, yeah, I’m all over the place,

Brexit is a game-changing event. Now Euro-sceptics all over Europe has got fresh wind in their sails.

Few people expected the positive outcome of Brexit referendum. Among other doubters, I expected the UK government will borrow a trick from the Clinton collection, and proclaim the "Bremain" hath it.

The political establishment of both leading parties, the Tories and Labour, wished to remain in the cosy lap of the EC. This was the will of the Bank of England, and of the City of London; of the powerful media lords, of the creative minority of yuppies, of cosmopolitan intellectuals.

FLASHBACK - Hawaii Moves One Step Closer to Declaring Sovereignty from U.S. Government

This week, Native Hawaiians initiated an historical election that may grant them sovereignty from the United States and the state of Hawaii, itself, after well over a century of colonial rule. More than 95,000 indigenous people will elect delegates to a constitutional convention, scheduled for this winter, when they will work to create a government that serves and represents Native Hawaiians — the only group of indigenous people in the United States currently restricted from forming their own government.

In the 19th century, European and American missionaries and traders began settling in Hawaii. They quickly formed a political movement and succeeded in transferring power from the king to his cabinet and the legislature. Though they drafted a new constitution limiting the king’s control, they also limited the voting rights of Asians and Native Hawaiians while granting that right to wealthy non-citizens.

HAWAII BECOMES FIRST STATE TO INDISCRIMINATELY PUT ALL LEGAL GUN OWNERS ON FBI CRIMINAL WATCH LIST

Hawaii is an odd place. Smack dab in the middle of the world’s largest ocean it has been said that Hawaii is as close to the developing world as one can come (in some respects) and still be in the 50 United States. It has weird politics. (From which our current president politically sprouted it should be noted.) It has a strong Leftward tilt in many ways. The Communist Party of Hawaii of the 1940s and 1950s was arguably the strongest of the communist parties in the USA. The flag has the Union Jack on it with American stripes. It’s the home of surfing. (My first love.) It’s the only state which is wholly tropical. It has active volcanoes. Hawaii is an outlier in practically everything. I guess putting perfectly law abiding gun owners on an FBI list is just another one of these weird things. Let’s hope this sort of over the top statism just stays out in the deep blue of the North Pacific.

Retired frigates to be target of live-fire tests at RIMPAC exercise

The retired frigate USS Thach will be sunk during Rim of the Pacific war games in July from fire including the first Harpoon missile shot from a littoral combat ship, a type of U.S. warship being deployed regularly to Singapore and the volatile South China Sea.

The Navy originally wanted 52 of the now controversial littoral combat ships, which were touted for their speed and shallow draft for operations in near-shore environments against pirates, mines and diesel submarines.

With the rise of China, however, concerns were raised about the ships’ armor and lethality, and the Pentagon reduced the total and is seeking a more robust frigate as a replacement.

While in Hawaii, the littoral combat ship USS Coronado will test the greater lethality of a Harpoon missile, which has the capability of destroying enemy ships 100 miles away, the Navy said. The Navy is seeking to arm all of its LCSs with over-the-horizon missiles.

Hawaii is not legally a state!

Most folks have heard that Hawaii is a state, one of the United States of America. Most people, including those who live in Hawaii, accept that statement as a fact.

But the reality is that in a world in which nations are as bound by the rule of laws as are the citizens of nations (if not more so), the truth is quite different!

The truth is that each and every step along Hawaii's path from sovereign and independent nation, to annexed territory, to state, was done in violation of laws and treaties then in effect, without regard to the wishes of the Hawaiian people. Many people, including President Grover Cleveland, opposed the annexation of Hawaii.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The success of BREXIT has not only triggered a wave of new referendums across Europe but energized secession movements here in the US, such as in Texas.

Here in Hawaii, the situation is simpler. Hawaii's statehood is of dubious legality to start with. But the local sovereignty movements are feeling the inspiration of BREXIT, and we may see some changes start to happen in the islands. We will be having a guest on this topic in the coming days.

Trump as the ‘Relative Peace Candidate’

The danger to the rest of us is not Trump, but Hillary Clinton. She is no maverick. She embodies the resilience and violence of a system whose vaunted ‘exceptionalism’ is totalitarian with an occasional liberal face.”

Hillary Clinton has shown no real remorse over her support for neocon “regime changes,” aggressive wars and belligerence toward Russia, leaving the oft-obnoxious Donald Trump as the relative peace candidate, says John V. Walsh.

Let us hear from these heretics, among them William Greider, Glen Ford, John Pilger, Jean Bricmont, Stephen F. Cohen and William Blum. Their words are not to be construed as “endorsements,” but rather an acknowledgement of Trump’s anti-interventionist views, the impact those views are having and the alternative he poses to Hillary Clinton in the current electoral contest.

The executive leadership now faces the problem of how to deal with a traitor, who may be the Democratic Party nominee for US President. How do the executive leadership and intelligence agencies back a foreign spy for president, who has been deeply compromised and can be blackmailed? This may explain why the FBI, NSA, and CIA hesitate to press charges; hesitate to even seriously investigate, despite the obvious nature of her offenses. Most of all it explains why there is no indication of the identity of Secretary Clinton’s correspondents in the various reports so far available.

Scientists aboard the NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer spotted the massive sea creature at a depth of 7,000 feet within the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument, a protected U.S. National Monument spanning 140,000 square miles of ocean, during a month-long expedition from July to August of 2015.

Did Clinton’s Emails Expose CIA Agents?

Even as Hillary Clinton closes in on the Democratic nomination, facts continue to emerge indicating that her sloppy email practices may have endangered secrets, including the identities of covert operatives, writes Peter Van Buren.

These are facts. You can look at the source documents yourself. This is not opinion, conjecture, or rumor. Hillary Clinton transmitted the names of American intelligence officials via her unclassified email.

From a series of Clinton emails, numerous names were redacted in the State Department releases with the classification code “B3 CIA PERS/ORG,” a highly specialized classification that means the information, if released, would violate the Central Intelligence Act of 1949 by exposing the names of CIA officials.

MSNBC Admits Plan to Suppress Bernie Sanders Voters in California

A stunning revelation from MSNBC’s Chris Matthews...

Matthews flat out states that there is a plan in place at MSNBC to announce Hillary as the clear winner, hours before anything is officially declared, to make people think they will be wasting their time by going out to vote for Bernie.

This is a stunning example of the dirty tricks that the mainstream media will play to further their preferred establishment candidate’s position in the race:

Electing a Foreign Spy for President?

As Sherlock Holmes would say, “We are entering in deep waters, Watson”.

There are several lines of inquiry against Mme. Clinton:

(1) Did she work with, as yet unnamed, foreign governments and intelligence services to strengthen their positions and against the interest of the United States?

(2) Did she provide information on the operations and policy positions of various key US policymakers to competitors, adversaries or allies undermining the activities of military, intelligence and State Department officials?

(3) Did she seek to enhance her personal power within the US administration to push her aggressive policy of serial pre-emptive wars over and against veteran State Department and Pentagon officials who favored traditional diplomacy and less violent confrontation?

(4) Did she prepare a ‘covert team’, using foreign or dual national operative, to lay the groundwork for her bid for the presidency and her ultimate goal of supreme military and political power?

27 Nations Set to Join RIMPAC Exercise in Hawaii, California

Brazil, Denmark, Germany and Italy will take part for the first time in the biennial RIMPAC, which is slated to begin June 30 and end Aug. 4, the Navy said Tuesday. China, which joined the exercise in 2014, will also participate.

This year's U.S. Pacific Fleet-hosted drills -- which will focus on disaster relief, maritime security, sea control and complex warfighting -- will include 45 ships, five submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel.

Participating nations include Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Colombia, France, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, South Korea, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Tonga and the United Kingdom.

HONOLULU RAIL: IT JUST KEEPS GETTING WORSE

At $2.9 billion this extra cost is nearly $3,000 for every man, woman and child in Honolulu. It is more than $8,500 per household.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This project has become a major disaster for Hawaii. It has created near-permanent traffic jams along the route. A lot of businesses along the route have been driven out of business because people cannot easily get into the parking lots! 50% over budget (so far) and two years late (so far) and now there is talk of shortening the route, with the Honolulu end stopping at Middle street rather than Ala Moana, with a bus line to take people the rest of the way to their destinations! The money would have been better spent buying everyone on Oahu a new electric car!

Maui Completely Stops Spraying Roundup, Switches to Organic Herbicides

By Christina Sarich

Maui’s State Department of Transportation just agreed not to spray Monsanto’s Roundup along roadways. All purchases of the glyphosate-based, carcinogenic weed killer have been halted, according to Maui Mama. What’s more, the department is about to change the signs on all of their spray trucks to say “Certified Organic Herbicide.”

Beyond Pesticides has also agreed to teach county workers how to make the switch from the health-damaging Roundup chemical applications to a non-toxic solution, FREE OF CHARGE. The county of Maui has yet to take the offer to heart, but with some world-wide support, they could be gently urged to do so...

May 14 09:52

Stop the purchase and use of Roundup and other glyphosate based herbicides and neonicotinoid in our parks, roadways, and near schools.

We the residents of Maui and the state of Hawai'i, ask Maui County and the State of Hawaii to stop the use of Round Up and Neonicotinoids immediately and permanently.

The long term and often excessive use of the herbicide Roundup Pro, and other glyphosate based herbicides to control weeds in our city parks and roadways unnecessarily expose children, adults, and wildlife to a toxic stew of chemicals.

This poison is being sprayed all over our roadways, city parks, and next to schools. And with no warning, signs, or mandated limitations around application? This must stop. There are better ways to keep up our parks, roadways and playgrounds without spraying toxins that harm our children!

Study eyes risk of big tsunami in Hawaii from mega-earthquake in Aleutians

A mega-tsunami in Hawaii generated by an Aleutian Islands earthquake with a magnitude of 9.0 or higher would affect more than 300,000 people, the state estimates, and cause some $40 billion in damage.

But how probable is an event like that?

A team of University of Hawaii at Manoa researchers spent five years trying to answer that question, and here's what they concluded: There's a 9 percent chance of Hawaii suffering a direct hit from such a mega-tsunami in the next 50 years.

In other words, rare but possible.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Back in 1964 there was a magnitude 9.2 quake that hit Anchorage, Alaska. The Tsunami wiped out much of the city of Hilo, on the Big Island.

Hawaii OKs $12M to tackle homelessness

Hawaii lawmakers set aside more money to tackle the highest rate of homelessness in the nation — a crisis that has left families with children living on sidewalks alongside the beaches of paradise.

The Legislature allocated $12 million in new funding during the session ending Thursday. It will go toward social services and clearing out homeless encampments.

The amount surpassed Gov. David Ige's funding request and added to the more than $15 million the state already spends annually to address the problem.

Hawaii under martial law was ‘military dictatorship’ (1941-1944)

In declaring martial law, all forms of civilian law were suspended. An entire new system of justice and order was instituted and controlled at the absolute discretion of Lt. Gen. Short — the newly declared “Military Governor” of the islands.

The transfer of power meant that all civilian courts would be closed, and all government functions — federal, territorial, and municipal — would be placed under military control. The U.S. Constitution was suspended and civilians no longer guaranteed any individual rights or protections from the government. Civilians had no freedom of speech, self-defense, assembly, or protections from from unreasonable search and seizures, inter alia.

The US Is Militarizing the Pacific – and Not Taking Questions

Though overshadowed by unrest in the Middle East, the pivot remains very much underway. Already the US has expanded and established new military exercises and agreements with Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, and other parts of Southeast Asia – as well as Myanmar, Bangladesh, India, Mongolia, and even China.

The linchpin of this military realignment is my home state of Hawaii, which has hosted the headquarters of the US Pacific Command, or USPACOM, for almost 70 years.

Beyond Scrutiny

Based on the island of Oahu, USPACOM claims the Asia-Pacific as its “area of responsibility.” Home to 36 nations – and more than half the world’s population – the region stretches, in the words of top military brass, “from Bollywood to Hollywood and penguins to polar bears.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

The "power projection" of US military might from here on Oahu, coupled with the military activities controlled here, make this island potentially a first-strike, decap target for any Chinese war against the United States.

As an Oahu resident, that makes me more than a little nervous.

I would strongly suggest we constituents deserve some kind of answer from the "alleged" Representatives who ducked this reporter's questions, and ask them seriously about what they are doing to prevent a potential "Oahuclypse" if there is a war with China.

About 675 Maui residents work for Hawaii's last sugar plantation, which plans to end sugar operations by the end of 2016. Under the federal program, workers could receive up to $2,000 a month for a year while they're retrained for a new job. That's in addition to state benefits and job training.

ACLU: Hawaii GOP bills aim to punish homeless for ‘basic life functions’ — like sleeping

The American Civil Liberties Union of Hawaii warned this week that bills being pushed by Hawaii’s Maui County Mayor Alan Arakawa (R) would punish homeless people for “the basic life functions of sleeping and going to the bathroom.”

In an email on Friday, ACLU of Hawaii legal director Daniel Gluck told The Maui News that his group “strongly opposed” several bills being offered to prevent homeless people from sleeping on sidewalks or going to the bathroom in public areas.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A short memo to Maui County Mayor Arakawa; as a Hawaii State resident, sir, this is one of the most hamfistedly, pigheadedly pieces of proposed legislation I have ever seen, not to mention decidedly cruel in its intent.

Criminalising homelessness doesn't solve the problem; it exacerbates that problem, and thinking people understand this.

It is obvious to me that you and your minions need to go on a junket to Salt Lake City, Utah, where city officials have pretty much eliminated the problem of homelessness almost completely.

And how have they done that?!? They crunched the numbers, and realized that it was ultimately cheaper to house these people, and hook them up with social services to get them back in the work force, than throw them in jail, or fine them with fines they cannot possibly pay.

This is both a logical, and compassionate, response to a complex problem, and the good news is, it is working for Salt Lake City; why can something like that NOT work for the State of Hawaii?!?

Hawaii: 120 Years of US Occupation: Militarism and “America’s Pacific Century”

Many tourists from the US and around the world visit Hawaii for its beautiful islands and its beaches covered with white sand. It is known for its food and traditional luau celebrations, its native people and its culture. When you vacation in Hawaii it offers surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, hiking and many other activities. It has been the 50th State of the United States since August 21st, 1959. Since statehood, tourism has been the main industry followed by Education, Government and the Military. However, Hawaii was a country whose government of Queen Lili’uokalani was overthrown more than 120 years ago on January 17th, 1893, when Hawaii was actually known as the Kingdom of Hawaii. It is a part of history that needs to be told.

VOLCANO WATCH: Mauna Loa, Earth’s Largest Active Volcano, is Still Stirring

Despite not being in the headlines, Mauna Loa continues to be in a state of unrest based on seismic and deformation monitoring data.

The USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory’s improved seismic network began to detect increasingly frequent, small earthquakes on Mauna Loa as early as 2013. Renewed inflation of the volcano was detected by HVO’s GPS network and also with Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) in 2014. Based on the elevated rates of earthquakes and persistent inflation, the Volcano Alert Level for Mauna Loa was elevated from Normal to Advisory on September 15, 2015.

According to the USGS Alert-Notification System for Volcanic Activity, an Advisory level indicates that the volcano is showing signs of unrest above known background levels, but does not mean that an eruption certain. Another period of Mauna Loa unrest in 2004–2005 included inflation and anomalous seismicity, but did not result in an eruption.

Presidential Elections 2016: The Revolt of the Masses

Commentators grossly oversimplify when they reduce the revolt to incoherent expressions of ‘anger’.

The presidential elections of 2016 have several unique characteristics that defy common wisdom about political practices in 21st century America.

Clearly the established political machinery – party elites and their corporate backers -have (in part) lost control of the nomination process and confront ‘unwanted’ candidates who are campaigning with programs and pronouncements that polarize the electorate.

But there are other more specific factors, which have energized the electorate and speak to recent US history. These portend and reflect a realignment of US politics.

In this essay, we will outline these changes and their larger consequences for the future of American politics.

We will examine how these factors affect each of the two major parties.

Missiles in paradise: Kauai island faces controversial Hawaii defense plan

When 2016 began with North Korea declaring it had detonated a hydrogen bomb, its fourth nuclear test, the U.S. military had already tested a land-based Aegis Ashore missile defense system in Hawaii — Lockheed Martin’s version of the short-to-intermediate-range ballistic missile defense (BMD) system used on Aegis Navy destroyers.

Now, as tension mounts after Pyongyang’s satellite launch on Feb. 7, media reports suggest the Pentagon is mulling making the Aegis Ashore test facility operational at the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) at the Barking Sands naval base on the Hawaiian island of Kauai.

A Navy spokesman said, “There are no plans for an operational site of Aegis Ashore at PMRF. It was constructed as a test and training site only.” But Adm. Harry B. Harris Jr., the commander of U.S. Pacific Command, has publicly stated that he believes the Aegis Ashore test facility should be considered as an operational site.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looks as though if the US military has its way on Kauai, all of us in the state will have a ring-side seat to any Chinese or Russian bombardment of our islands!!!!

And, of course, the geopolitical "ownership" of these islands (if the onslaught doesn't destroy too much of the infrastructure) translates as power projection, either East or West, depending on who has staked their claim here, militarily.

What in sam's hill ever happened to the US government's capabilities to enter into honest, good-faith negotiations, as a way to resolve geopolitical disputes?!?

It appears that this process is completely gone from DC's mindset, and the only thing this government is capable of doing is attempting to win its geopolitical battles only by military means.

And this is a problem, because right now, the US military doesn't have the money, the weapons, the troop strength, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome against either Russia or China.

And how has our military come to this point? Because the weapons procurement process has become incestuously corrupt, and those politicians who steer various weapons programs to various weapons manufacturers get taken care of handsomely by those same companies.

And how that translates for our military in the field is that when these weapons are finally deployed, many times they do not work as advertised; are chronically late, and horrifically over budget.

Please understand; as a Christian pacifist, I abhor war, and I never advocate violence. However, when it comes to weapons for our men and women in uniform, I want them to have the best, which perform as advertised, and are supplied on time and within budget.

Hawaiian coffee growers sue Monsanto over glyphosate's dangerous side effects

Still alive, Christine and her husband Kenneth are now going after Monsanto Co., accusing the agribusiness of falsely concealing the risks of glyphosate that ultimately led to her cancer. The civil suit states that Monsanto "knew or had reason to know that its Roundup products were defective and were inherently dangerous and unsafe when used in the manner instructed and provided by defendant. ...

"Monsanto assured the public that Roundup was harmless. In order to prove this, Monsanto championed falsified data and attacked legitimate studies that revealed its dangers. Monsanto led a prolonged campaign of misinformation to convince government agencies, farmers and the general public that Roundup was safe."

The Empire Doesn’t Retreat or Compromise

Reading mainstream media news, analyses, and opinion pieces about this war is completely useless, as everything is either uninformed and clueless gibberish or propaganda and deception.

In the end I settled for the header “The empire doesn’t retreat or compromise.”

This statement stands the test of time, it has been proven throughout human history, and there is only one single exemption, only one short period where retreat and compromise are a possibility. This short period is the time when the empire is in terminal decline and in the process of collapsing.

Why the Syria ceasefire is a long shot

Washington and its allies are not interested in peace. They want regime change – by hook or by crook.

An end to the Syrian conflict is desperately needed. But the latest plan for a cessation of violence is unlikely to take hold, as the deal struck by international powers is based on fundamentally opposing premises.

In short, Washington and its allies want regime change, while Russia and Iran insist that President Bashar Al-Assad and his government are the legitimate ruling authorities in Syria. All sides are mandated by UN resolutions to respect the sovereign will of the Syrian people – to determine the political future of their country.

Already Struggling With Dengue, Hawaii Braces Itself For Zika

The mosquito-borne Zika virus could hit Hawaii especially hard if it arrives in the Aloha State, according to an expert from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

While a widespread outbreak of Zika in the Hawaiian islands remains unlikely at the moment, the state is at higher risk because of its tropical climate and large number of foreign travelers. And many experts are voicing serious concerns about the state's ability to handle such an event, should it occur.

Hawaii Residents Irritated With Michelle Obama’s Extended Stay

Well folks, it turns out that Michelle Obama is showing her true narcissistic tendencies just as her husband does. As she continues her lavish Hawaiian vacation on the tax payer’s dime, Hawaii natives are ready for the mooch to return to D.C.

As she carelessly contributes to the, already abysmal, nation’s debt, it looks like she has been taking some time to spend with her celebrity friends. The entitled FLOTUS has been making frequent visits to Oprah Winfrey’s, “palatial 12-bedroom Maui estate.”

Beyond this, as she thoughtlessly carries about her leisurely activities, she seems oblivious that her time there is hindering others from their own recreational activities—Secret Service has been shutting down local hiking trails.

Honey of a science project

It took Kumar seven months to collect honey samples from around the island. She had help from beekeepers Jimmy Trujillo and Doug Gates, who helped her network with other beekeepers to gather samples. She gathered a total of 36 samples.

After getting samples, she sent them to a lab in Honolulu and a lab in Germany.

“We wanted to compare the results that were gathered from two different methods to see if they were similar,” Kumar said.

Both lab tests yielded the same results — the area around Kupua and Kapena had the highest levels of glyphosate.

“It’s concerning because pesticides shouldn’t be in honey, and now beekeepers have to question whether or not their honey is safe to sell,” Trujillo said.

High dosages of glyphosate can cause cancer and miscarriages, according to motherearthnews.com.

The new finding may explain why some bee colonies are dying, Trujillo added.

Every false flag in the making is detected ahead of time by somebody’s intelligence services

Every false flag in the making is detected ahead of time by somebody’s intelligence services—usually more than one country—because spying today is so effective and so universal. Officials in possession of this secret information often pass it on to the country that’s targeted, in the sincere belief that a heads-up will be appreciated.

But often the information isn’t welcomed—-because the fix is already in. Treasonous assets within the targeted country’s chain of command, who are prepared for the possibility of a leak, take measures to block the information from reaching those who might act on it in a meaningful way.

Offensive propaganda or new propaganda offensives?

Obama administration announced new online initiatives to bolster its foreign policy narratives and as a means to counter others, for example, this network, RT.

Maybe a better course of action would be for the US State Department to ask itself why fewer and fewer people trust and believe it?

Russian Red Scare No Longer Works

The EU has no-one else to blame for its present stresses and strains but itself, owing to its craven subservience to Washington's reckless policies.

The American and British governments are launching yet another media campaign to demonize Russia, with tall claims that the Kremlin is infiltrating European political parties and news media. The dastardly Russian aim, we are told, is to destroy the European Union.

Twenty-five years after the end of the Cold War and the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Washington and its trusty sidekick in London are desperately seeking to turn back the clock to the “good old days” when they could control their public through scare stories.

This land is our land: American democracy, at a theater near you

Democracy has been projected on to a fictitious screen of good guy and bad guys. The people watch as impotent spectators, no longer even aware of the real story out there.

Ever since armed white ranchers took over federal property in Oregon the unfolding drama has resembled a parody of a Hollywood Western. Trouble is, no-one is quite sure who’s wearing the white hats as opposed to the black ones.

Hawaii Department of Health Reports First Case Of Zika Virus In The U.S.

Just days after the Center for Disease Control recommended travel warnings to pregnant women headed to Latin America, the Hawaiian Department of Health has confirmed a Zika “virus infection in a baby recently born with microcephaly in a hospital on Oahu.”

The release stressed that this case wasn’t acquired in the United States: the mother was pregnant in Brazil in May 2015, when the virus was transmitted. Neither the infant or the mother are contagious.

Stranded monster

Now and then giant ocean creatures wash up on beaches in a horrible mess. At Kalaeloa Airport on Oahu (Hawaii) a similar but aerial creature has washed up in an airport hangar. It’s the Solar Impulse 2, a solar-powered plane with a wingspan nearly as long as an Airbus A380’s. But it weighs rather less than a Toyota Land Cruiser and has so far cost its sponsors about $US250 million.

Haiku Stairs

I went on hike this morning. I woke up early to be on the trail well before sunrise. When we reached the trail head dawn was just barely breaking. It was the coolest hike I’ve ever been on.
You may have heard of this hike. Most people refer to it as “Stairway to Heaven” but the official name, the one you’ll find on the trail head sign, is Haiku Stairs (or Ha?ik? Stairs). It’s a steel staircase made up of 4000 steps that ascends a ridge up from the Valley of Haiku near Kaneohe. The steps were built so the military could access a radio station antennae 2000ft up on the mountain during World War II.

Search underway for 12 Marines after 2 helicopters collide off North Shore

Coast Guard officials told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser they received a distress call at 10:38 p.m. from the Marines that two of its CH-53 Super Stallion helicopters, each with six Marines on board, had crashed off Oahu. Debris from the crash was sighted 2.5 miles off Haleiwa shortly after midnight, they said. CNN, citing a Coast Guard spokeswoman, reported that search crews spotted an empty life raft and flames on the water.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Those Super Stallions were always circling the island in formation training flights. I am going to take a guess that they collided the main rotors which is why they could not auto-rotate down to the sea.

Puerto Rico Is Greece, & These 5 States Are Next To Go

The direct indebtedness of US states (excluding revenue bonds) is $500 billion. However, bonds are just one part of the picture: states have another trillion in future obligations related to pension and retiree healthcare. In the summer of 2014, we conducted a deep-dive analysis of US states, incorporating bonds, pension obligations and retiree healthcare obligations. After reviewing over 300 Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports from different states, we pulled together an assessment of each state’s total debt service relative to its tax collections, incorporating the need to pay down underfunded pension and retiree healthcare obligations.

While there are five states with significant challenges (Illinois, Connecticut, Hawaii, New Jersey, and Kentucky) , the majority of states have debt service-to-revenue ratios that are more manageable.

Illegal fireworks calls keep Honolulu Police busy

But deep in Kalihi Valley, the backyard illegal aerial show began just after sundown Thursday. And marked police cars could be seen darting back and forth as the fireworks lit up the sky.

Drone Buzzes President Barack Obama's Motorcade in Hawaii

The Secret Service quickly intervened and said the pilot of the small, quadcopter-style drone was "completely unaware" that Obama's motorcade would be traveling through the area on Oahu.

The man "immediately complied with law enforcement requests to cease and desist," the statement added. No charges were filed and the motorcade did not stop or slow down because of the incident.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There were announcements on the Hawaii media not to fly drones while Obama was here and given that this guy was released without charges I suspect it was a PR stunt as the government now has an excuse to remind everyone that quadcopter drones over a half pound weight are now regulated and must be registered with the FAA ... for a $5 fee. Americans are buying 15,000 drones per month. You can work out the cash windfall the FAA gets for their registration program. What other use it has is questionable as most drones do not have serial numbers nor radar transponders and thus cannot be tracked or managed.

Hillary Clinton Touts Overthrow of Gadhafi, but Doesn’t Mention That Clinton Foundation Donors Did Big Business in Tyrant’s Libya

On Saturday, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton again justified the 2011 U.S. policy of regime change in Libya, citing, at least in part, the fact that dictator Moammar Gadhafi had killed Americans.

“We have to continue to do what is necessary when someone like Gadhafi, a despot with American blood on his hands, is overturned,” Clinton said during the weekend’s Democratic presidential debate in Manchester, New Hampshire. “But I’ll tell you what would have happened if we had not joined with our European partners and our Arab partners to assist the people in Libya, you would be looking at Syria.”

But early in the administration, Clinton had championed an allegiance with the Libyan regime under Gadhafi, during a time when some of the major U.S. corporations doing business in Libya were also donating heavy sums to the Clinton Foundation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Do not for a moment imagine that this "pay to play" mentality will suddenly leave her consciousness, if she is able to win (or steal) the election; it will simply continue, unabated. For her and Bill Clinton, inhabiting the White House is simply another way to make millions of dollars through her foundation, and the public be damned.

And this is why we have to bring her past behaviour to the unblinking gaze of documented fact, because, if in fact, past is prologue to the future, we can expect massive international interventionism from a second Clinton presidency.

And has anyone out there had the "male attributes" to ask her if the current post-Ghadaffi situation in Libya, which has been rife with civil war since 2011; whose leadership has been badly factionalised and has just this month created a basis for a national unity government, was the outcome she desired when she green-lit Ghadaffi's assassination?!?

And what about the reality that Libya has become a
second home to ISIS?!?

Because if all I have stated here were not the outcomes Clinton desired as Secretary of State, and were simply "unintended consequences" of her policies here, please consider Libya a thoroughly terrifying, but very real, "prequel" to what a Clinton presidency will look like.

Putin Throws Down the Gauntlet

This isn’t a game, it’s a fight for survival; Russia’s survival as a sovereign country. That’s what the stakes are. That’s not something Putin takes lightly.

Would you be willing to defend your country against a foreign invasion?

That’s all Putin is doing in Syria. He’s just preempting the tidal wave of jihadis that’ll be coming his way once the current fracas is over. He figures it’s better to exterminate these US-backed maniacs in Syria now than face them in Chechnya, St Petersburg and Moscow sometime in the future. Can you blame him? After all, if Washington’s strategy works in Syria, then you can bet they’ll try the same thing in Beirut, Tehran and Moscow.

So what choice does Putin have?

Obamas headed to Hawaii for 8th Christmas vacation: Here's how much it will cost you

Judicial Watch tracks costs related to presidential trips, including what it costs to operate Air Force One.

Three trips earlier this year – a Palm Springs golf trip in June, a trip to New York in July and a visit to Martha's Vineyard in August – cost the U.S. $3.1 million in travel expenses alone. It costs about $206,000 per hour to operate the president's private plane.

Last year's Obama family Christmas trip cost $3.7 million in flight expenses alone, with 17.8 hours in the air round-trip. Housing and security costs are on top of that amount but not all that information is released to the public.

Those expenses don't sit well with everyone.

The McCollum Memo:The Smoking Gun of Pearl Harbor

On October 7, 1940, Lieutenant Commander Arthur McCollum of the Office of Naval Intelligence submitted a memo to Navy Captains Walter Anderson and Dudley Knox (whose endorsement is included in the following scans). Captains Anderson and Knox were two of President Roosevelt's most trusted military advisors.

The memo, scanned below, detailed an 8 step plan to provoke Japan into attacking the United States. President Roosevelt, over the course of 1941, implemented all 8 of the recommendations contained in the McCollum memo. Following the eighth provocation, Japan attacked. The public was told that it was a complete surprise, an "intelligence failure", and America entered World War Two.

Work on world's largest star-gazing 'scope stopped after religious protests

Building work on the world's largest telescope has stopped after the Hawaiian Supreme Court sided with local groups and withdrew construction permits.

The Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) project broke ground last October – albeit briefly – as protesters flooded the site trying to stop the building work. Local groups claim the telescope will damage the ecology of the Mauna Kea volcano on Hawaii's Big Island, and violates what some Hawaiians feel is a sacred site.

Protesters took to the courts to get the project stopped, but approval of the project was granted before their case was heard. This violated due process rules, the Hawaiian Supreme Court ruled, and as such the permits have been placed on indefinite hold.

FLASHBACK - Biological Warfare Agent Dengue Hits Epidemic Levels In South America

Senior American journalist William Blum has reported: “In 1956 and 1958, declassified documents have revealed that the US army loosed swarms of specially bred mosquitoes in Georgia and Florida to see whether disease carrying insects could be weapons in a biological war. The mosquitoes bred for the tests were of Aedes Aegypti type, the precise carrier of dengue fever as well as other diseases. In 1967, it was reported by Science magazine that at the US Government Centre in Fort Detrick, Maryland, dengue fever was amongst those diseases that are at least the object of considerable research and that appear to be among those regarded as potential biological warfare agents.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

9 confirmed Hawaii cases of new mosquito-transmitted disease

A relatively new disease has been spreading around the world.

It’s called Chikungunya and it was first seen in 2013 in the Caribbean. Since then, it has spread throughout South America and to the Pacific.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Part of the reason we are seeing these diseases emerge here in Hawaii is both the influx of illegal immigrants and refugees (yes, we have our share) coupled with funding cuts to the state department that controls pest populations.
