Joe Biden Indirectly Bashes Trump at AIPAC

Vice President Joe Biden gave a not-so-subtle dig at Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump during his speech on the opening night of AIPAC’s 2016 Policy Conference, saying the world needed “bridge-builders” not “wall-builders.”

Boycotting Israel is a free speech right

Israel’s current government, its most racist ever, has dropped all pretenses of “enlightenment” and “democracy.”

This has helped to expose Israel’s regime of occupation, settler colonialism and apartheid to world public opinion like never before. In this context, and given the fast spread of BDS in recent years, Israel has tried hard but failed to slow down its gradually intensifying international isolation in the academic, cultural, sports and, to a lesser extent, economic spheres.

As a result, Israel, its lobby groups and its right-wing supporters have launched an unprecedented, well-funded global campaign to silence Palestinian narratives and criminalize BDS advocacy, especially in Western countries.

EU says Israeli land seizure threatens peace process

A seizure of land by Israel in the West Bank raises questions about its commitment to a two-state solution to end the conflict with the Palestinians, the European Union said in a statement on Thursday.

Echoing remarks this week by Germany and France, the EU's foreign policy service issued a rare statement directly criticizing Israel for its appropriation of 579 acres (234 hectares) near Jericho.

"Israel's decision ... is a further step that risks undermining the viability of a future Palestinian state and therefore calls into question Israel's commitment to a two-state solution," the EU said in a statement.

"Any decision that could enable further settlement expansion, which is illegal under international law and an obstacle to peace, will only drive the parties to the conflict even further apart," the EU said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Dear EU: I am having a palm to forehead moment, at warp speed, at your magnificent grasp of the obvious.

Do you not understand that Israel does not want peace, but territory, and by any means necessary?!? Has that assessment not collectively dawned upon you?!?

As reported at antiwar.com on 15 March 2016:

Israel announced on Army Radio today that they have “appropriated” a large tract of Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank, confiscating some 579 acres (2.3 square kilometers), which NGO Peace Now referred to as the largest single confiscation of territory in years. The territory seized is near the Palestinian city of Jericho, and is reportedly slated to be used in the expansion of Jewish settlements in the area, to further prevent the potential of forming a contiguous Palestinian state in the future.

This land grab means that now, there can be no contiguous state of Palestine, period, end of discussion.

What part of this are you having a difficult time to understand?!? The Israeli government will collectively relieve itself in your faces and tell you it's raining, say they want peace, and then haul deliberately haul off and do something like this.

It's a pattern that is almost pathological in the Israeli government's way of doing things.

And remember, for the Eretz-Israel crowd, the country of Israel has the right to all territories from the Nile to the Euphrates. Please think about what that means, in terms of the structural integrity of the region.

In light, this writer recommends that the PA leadership abandon once and for all the illusive quest for Palestinian statehood and opt for a the creation of a democratic and unitary state (between the River Jordan and the Mediterranean) where Jews and Arabs live together in peace and equality irrespective of religion and ethnicity.

The Thirteenth Tribe

However, numerous historians have looked into this issue and discovered that most of these Zionist Jews are not descendants of the original Jews. Rather, most Zionists are " Jews"; a race of people who were known as the Khazars a thousand years ago, The real, original Jews were physically and genetically similar to the Arabs, specifically, dark skin, dark eyes, and dark hair. The Hebrew and Arabic languages have a lot of similarities, also.

The real homeland for the white, Ashkenazi Jews is near the Caspian and Black Seas, not Palestine. Their ancestors picked up the Jewish religion about 900A.D.. Due to the widespread ignorance of people in that era, after a few generations they assumed that they were the descendants of the Jews who lived in Palestine.

McGraw-Hill destroys textbook to placate pro-Israel bloggers

The publisher McGraw-Hill Education is destroying all copies of a political science textbook after receiving complaints from hardline supporters of Israel that it features a series of “anti-Israel” maps.

The college textbook, titled Global Politics: Engaging a Complex World, was published in 2012. But it wasn’t until early this month that the maps generated criticism from a pro-Israel blogger known as Elder of Ziyon.

Within a week of the initial outcry, McGraw-Hill began destroying all copies of the book, scrubbed the book from its website, promised to reimburse anyone who bought the book and apologized to the offended right-wing bigots behind the manufactured controversy.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The maps illustrate how Israel has continued to displace the Palestinians since Israel's creation. They are factual and accurate, but the truth is hate speech to those with something to hide.

5 of the Most Appalling Acts of Incitement From Israel This Week: Major Poll Shows Racism in Israel Is Far from Fringe

On March 8, the Pew Research Center published the results of itspremier poll of Jewish-Israeli society, confirming in concrete numbers what analysts have long sensed from anecdotal evidence: the vast majority of Jewish citizens want Israel to treat them better than it treats its non-Jewish citizens, and about half want the state not to have any non-Jewish citizens altogether.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"The Jews, I find, are very, very selfish. They care not how many Estonians, Latvians, Finns, Poles, Yugoslavs or Greeks get murdered or mistreated as Displaced Persons as long as the Jews get special treatment. Tell your Representative: Vote NO on HR 4514!

AIPAC is meeting this weekend in Washington DC, but we already know what’s at the top of their agenda: legislating away our right to organize.

Here’s how: they’re putting the full might of their organization behind a bill called “Combatting BDS.” It might sound like nothing, but this bill is a brazen attempt to silence and punish those of us who support boycotts as a way of fighting for human rights. We’re already taking on similar legislation, designed to throw a stumbling block in front of our movement, in dozens of state legislatures across the country -- but now AIPAC is bringing the fight to Capitol Hill.

Why BDS Cannot Lose: A Moral Threshold to Combat Racism in Israel

snip: “The whole world is against us,” is quite a common justification in Israel itself, of the international reaction to Israel’s Apartheid practices. With time, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy and feeds on past notions that are no longer applicable. No matter how many companies divest from Israel – the latest being the world’s largest security corporation G4S – and, no matter how many universities and churches vote to boycott Israel, Israeli society remains entrenched behind the slogan and its disconcerting sense of victimization.

Many Israelis believe that their country is a ‘villa in a jungle’ – a notion that is constantly enforced by top Israeli leaders. Right-wing Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, is purposely advancing the crippling fear in his own society. Unable to see the unmistakable crimes he has carried out against Palestinians for years, he continues to perpetuate the idea of the purity of Israel and the wickedness of everyone else.

Does Congress Represent American Citizens or Israeli Settlers?

1. Congress comprises the House of Representatives with 435 members plus 100 members in the Senate. So altogether Congress has 535 voting members. The US Constitution provides that in the majority of foreign policy decisions, and also in domestic legislation, any decision or proposal by the elected president, or the White House, must be ratified by Congress otherwise it cannot proceed. The foregoing is not in dispute.

2. AIPAC the American Israel lobby, aka the American Zionist Committee, has a reported 100,000 members across the United States plus the support of some 50 million, or so, Evangelicals, otherwise known as Christian Zionists, in the Bible Belt of Middle America. They represent between 16 to 20% of the US electorate. Put another way, about 80% of Americans are not members of AIPAC or any other Zionist organisation.

THE EXISTENTSIAL DILEMMA FACING ISRAEL TODAY

In 1895, the fledgling Zionist movement dispatched a number of rabbis to Palestine to explore the possibility of establishing a homeland for Jews in the predominantly Arab country, then under Ottoman rule.

Today, 120 years later the legitimate husband and the rapist turned-master of the house continue the century-old fight for legitimacy and possession of the land.

Israeli Chief Rabbi to Troops: Ignore Courts, Commander, Just Kill Armed Palestinians

Amid ongoing condemnation of Israeli Army Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Gadi Eisenkot, who last month publicly declared “I don’t want a soldier to empty a magazine on a girl with scissors,” Israel’s chief Sephardic Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef urged soldiers to ignore the Army Chief’s orders, as well as court rulings, and just kill any “armed Palestinians” they find.

Yosef argued that it was a religious imperative for all Jews to kill armed enemies and to be unconcerned with the rulings of the High Court or other officials, urging that the killings would serve as a deterrent.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What about the unarmed Palestinians, Rabbi?!? What about women, children, and the medical fragile elderly?!?

The message you are sending to your followers does very much remind me of the statement made by Arnald-Amalric at the siege of Montsegur, who, upon hearing that there were woman and children in the besieged fortress, commanded the Pope's army to "Kill them all, God will find his own."

Will you take any moral responsibility when one of your followers, empowered and energized by your statements, decides to firebomb a Palestinian home, only killing innocent women and children?!?

Or, Rabbi, have you come to see all Palestinians as "the enemy", to be treated with the same genocidal frenzy with which Hitler treated the Jews in World War II?!?

Sir, I sincerely and respectfully ask you to think this approach through; it will create even more suffering for both Israeli Jews and the Palestinians, and continue to make a mockery of the Israeli judicial system.

72 PERCENT OF AID TO PALESTINE ENDS UP ‘IN ISRAELI HANDS’

Aid money to Palestine ends up benefiting the Israeli economy, and may even help perpetuate the occupation, according to an analysis published last year. Published by Aid Watch Palestine, a Palestinian NGO that scrutinizes the spending of foreign relief money, the September 2015 study by Shir Hever suggests that at least 72 percent of foreign aid actually ends up back in Israeli hands. Palestine’s economy is dependent on foreign aid, although foreign nations sometimes pledge more than they actually give. The World Bank reported that of $3.5 billion pledged to Palestine in 2015, “only 35 percent has been disbursed, $881 million less than what was supposed to be disbursed so far” by September.

U.S. Aid Underwrites Bad Israeli Economic and Oppressive Occupation Policies

America is practically bankrupt, yet Israel remains a multi-billion dollar dependent. The U.S. can't afford to continue subsidizing well-off nations, no matter how friendly. And Israel, which spends heavily both to expand state regulation and occupy Palestinian lands, doesn't need American support.

The Middle East is in flames, but Israel appears relatively secure. Argued Paul Scham of the University of Maryland's Gildenhorn Institute for Israel Studies: "It may seem counterintuitive, or even downright strange, but Israel's geopolitical position is probably stronger now than at any time in the country's history." Israel greatly overshadows any potential adversary.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US government's aid to Israel, both financial and military, enables Israel's bad behaviour, both at home and abroad.

At home, you have serial genocide against the Palestinians, coupled with the brisk annexation of homes in which Palestinians have lived for decades. This gets coupled with huge developments for settlers in East Jerusalem and the West Bank, which means that Palestinians are close to having no place to live at all.

The Israeli government has proven itself pathologically incapable of getting along with its neighbors, and is shelling in Lebanon as I type this.

It paid one million dollars for Senator Cotton to kill the Iran nuclear deal (talk about attempting to thwart American foreign policy!!)

But it comes down here to Congress refusing to obey the laws it has created.

And under the Symington Amendment, any country which refuses to become a member of the NNPT and have its nuclear weapons inspected, is not eligible for any US military or financial aid whatsoever.

Israel refuses to join the NNPT (which Iran has done), or have its nuclear weapons inspected.

Why doesn't Congress obey the laws Congress has created?!? Because these creatures are for sale to the highest bidder (both in terms of monetary and PR support), and AIPAC provides that support in spades, as long as our "alleged" Congressional representatives do what is good for Israel, whether or not it is good for We the People.

Think about it; getting bought and paid for by foreign nations and corporate interest is the only thing Congress is good for anymore. We have become irrelevant and are no longer represented by the people paid to represent us.

The US government is no longer a democratic republic; it has devolved into a corpratocracy, where foreign and corporate money dictate the law of the land.

Angry yet?!?

IF YOU LOVE ISRAEL SPEAK UP FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE!

I have often said that it is very difficult to remain objective towards something when the subjective circumstances seem to be stronger.

The case of Israel and Jews is one of the cases that comes to mind. Many Jews outside of Israel support Israel blindly. The attitude is very similar to the American attitude during the Vietnam War… “My country right or wrong”..

Starved to death and left to MUMMIFY in the world's worst zoo: Once proud animals including lions and crocodiles are now no more than horrifying 'statues' after carers had to stop feeding them

This is the real face of Israel and Zionism! This is what they intend to do to the whole planet!

These are the horrifying pictures of mummified corpses of dozens of animals that starved to death in the world's worst zoo.

The photographs were taken at Khan Younis zoo in the impoverished Gaza Strip. The animals were left without food due to the Palestinian and Israeli conflict, as staff were unable to feed or care for them properly.

Mohammed Awaida opened South Forest Park in 2007 and invested hundreds of thousands of dollars into the zoo.

He lost a number of animals during the Israeli attacks against Hamas which began a year later

During the three-week offensive, launched in response to rocket attacks on Israel, Awaida said he could not reach the zoo, and many animals died of neglect and starvation.

History repeated itself in summer 2014, in the aftermath of the Gaza war known as Operation Protective Edge.

Instead there were graveside ceremonies glorifying the terrorist and his acts. Twenty one years later a compatriot of the terrorist was a candidate for the Knesset.

The lies about the 1967 war are still more powerful than the truth

In retrospect it can be seen that the 1967 war, the Six Days War, was the turning point in the relationship between the Zionist state of Israel and the Jews of the world (the majority of Jews who prefer to live not in Israel but as citizens of many other nations). Until the 1967 war, and with the exception of a minority of who were politically active, most non-Israeli Jews did not have – how can I put it? – a great empathy with Zionism’s child. Israel was there and, in the sub-consciousness, a refuge of last resort; but the Jewish nationalism it represented had not generated the overtly enthusiastic support of the Jews of the world. The Jews of Israel were in their chosen place and the Jews of the world were in their chosen places. There was not, so to speak, a great feeling of togetherness.

Traffic app says not at fault for Israel troops losing way

Google-owned traffic app Waze hit back today at suggestions its directions led Israeli soldiers into a Palestinian refugee camp where they were attacked, sparking bloody clashes.

Two Israeli soldiers were said to be using the app when they mistakenly drove into the Qalandiya refugee camp overnight, sparking clashes as security forces deployed to rescue them that killed one Palestinian and wounded 15 people.

Waze, the Israeli-developed navigation app acquired by Google for more than USD 1 billion in 2013, said the soldiers themselves were at fault.

“Quite frankly, Israel didn’t teach Hamas a harsh enough lesson last year. True to form, Obama was too hard on our democratic ally, and too soft on our Islamofascist foe,” reads the letter, obtained by the Guardian. “As president, I will give the Jewish state all the necessary military, diplomatic, economic and moral support it needs to truly vanquish Hamas – and if that means killing 200,000 Gazans, then so be it.”

22 years after the Ibrahimi mosque massacre, Palestinians still suffer consequences

On the 25th of February 1994, a US citizen residing in the illegal Kiryat Arba settlement entered the Ibrahimi mosque in the early morning during the month of Ramadan. Baruch Goldstein, dressed in his army uniform, opened fire on the Palestinians that were crammed inside for the prayer. He killed 29 men and boys and injured dozens before people overpowered him and beat him to death.

That day, many more Palestinians were killed in Hebron during riots protesting the massacre that had occurred, in front of the mosque and the hospital where the injured were treated, as well as in the cemetery were the dead were being buried. In the next few days, protests and marches happened all over the West Bank and across historic Palestine. It is believed that in total, in these few days, 50 to 70 Palestinians were killed, and over 250 were injured.

Military Intelligence chief: Deterioration in Gaza endangers Israel

Hamas members warned on Wednesday that a change in the situation in Gaza is inevitable in the shape of either an explosion of violence or the opening of a new exit route, while Israel's head of Military Intelligence warned that deteriorating conditions in Gaza endanger Israel's security.

At a closed meeting with the members of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Military Intelligence Chief Herzl Halevi said that "the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is deteriorating, and if it explodes, it will explode on Israel."

Hamas, for its part, said a seaport is a legitimate Palestinian right, said Hamas. Building a seaport in Gaza is also a Turkish condition in ongoing negotiations to rehabilitate its relationship with Israel, which collapsed following the Marmara raid in 2010. The Turks have made it clear that reconciliation would have to involve free access to the Gaza Strip in order to provide aid to the Palestinians.

McGill students vote to support boycott, divestment and sanctions against Israel

There were celebratory cheers and dancing as students at McGill University voted for the first time on Monday to support a highly controversial and divisive motion in favour of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

It was the third vote in 18 months for the Student Society of McGill University (SSMU) on the polarizing movement, which stems from a declaration issued in July 2005 — signed by about 100 Palestinian organizations — calling for boycotts, divestment and sanctions against Israel that mirror those levied against South Africa for apartheid in the 1980s.

While the motion has created much tension on campus, it carried with a strong margin of 512 to 357, surprising activists on both sides of the debate — although that represents a fraction of 30,000 or so students at McGill.

Alan Hart explains why politicians are running scared on BDS against Israel - nuclear blackmail by Israel

The conclusion I draw from everything I have learned from nearly half a century of engagement in various capacities with the conflict in and over Palestine that became Israel is that there are two main reasons for the refusal of the major Western powers to confront Zionism in order to provide the Palestinians with an acceptable amount of justice.

One is the influence (declining a little but still awesome) that the Zionist lobby in all of its manifestations has in the corridors of power together with unlimited funds to buy politicians.

The other is fear that if pushed further than they were prepared to go, Israel’s leaders would press a nuclear button or two and more if needed.

This fear is no doubt reinforced in the minds of those Western leaders who are aware of what Prime Minister Golda Meir once said to me in an interview for the BBC’s Panorama programme. As readers of my book and one or two of my blog posts over the years know, she said that in a doomsday situation “Israel would be prepared to take the region and the whole world down with it.”

Hillary Clinton, With Little Notice, Vows to Embrace an Extremist Agenda on Israel

Former President Bill Clinton on Monday met in secret (no press allowed) with roughly 100 leaders of South Florida’s Jewish community, and, as the Times of Israel reports, “He vowed that, if elected, Hillary Clinton would make it one of her top priorities to strengthen the U.S.-Israel alliance.” He also “stressed the close bond that he and his wife have with the State of Israel.”

It may be tempting to dismiss this as standard, vapid Clintonian politicking: adeptly telling everyone what they want to hear and making them believe it. After all, is it even physically possible to “strengthen the U.S.-Israel alliance” beyond what it already entails: billions of dollars in American taxpayer money transferred every year, sophisticated weapons fed to Israel as it bombs its defenseless neighbors, blindly loyal diplomatic support and protection for everything it does?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please understand;a vote for Hillary Clinton is a vote for more serial genocide against the Palestinian people; for more brisk annexation of Palestinian housing in which Palestinians have lived for centuries in the West Bank and East Jerusalem;and more general violence in the Middle East against countries whose leadership is not to Israel's liking.

And that includes almost ALL of its neighbors in the region!!

Trump: Israeli-Palestinian peace deal may be impossible

SUMTER, S.C. - Donald Trump, who has argued his experience negotiating tough real estate deals makes him best qualified to be US president, said on Wednesday it might be impossible to forge a lasting peace agreement between the Israelis and the Palestinians.

During a televised town hall session hosted by MSNBC in South Carolina, Trump, the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination, said he believed getting a deal done would be "very, very tough."

Greatest Threat to Free Speech in the West: Criminalizing Activism Against Israeli Occupation

The U.K. GOVERNMENT today announced that it is now illegal for “local [city] councils, public bodies, and even some university student unions … to refuse to buy goods and services from companies involved in the arms trade, fossil fuels, tobacco products, or Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.” Thus, any entities that support or participate in the global boycott of Israeli settlements will face “severe penalties” under the criminal law.

This may sound like an extreme infringement of free speech and political activism — and, of course, it is — but it is far from unusual in the West. The opposite is now true. There is a very coordinated and well-financed campaign led by Israel and its supporters literally to criminalize political activism against Israeli occupation, based on the particular fear that the worldwide campaign of Boycott, Sanctions, and Divestment, or BDS — modeled after the 1980s campaign that brought down the Israel-allied apartheid regime in South Africa — is succeeding.

The UN and the Invisible Palestinian Knives of Allege-gate

Still in shock from Dawabsha murders, West Bank village of Duma fears settlers will attack again

The arson attack by extremist Israeli settlers against the Dawabsha family that killed Baraa’s aunt Riham, uncle, Sa’ad, and their 18-month old baby Ali, left the rural village of Duma in shock. Only Ahmad – Sa’ad and Riham’s four-year-old son – survived the attack.

While the deadly arson attack was over half a year ago, residents in Duma say they must remain vigilant, worried that another similar attack may be just around the corner. The overwhelming feeling in the community is that the Israeli government has done nothing to deter further attacks against the vulnerable rural village.

Washington Post Reporter Detained in Israel for “Provocative Incitement” aka Creating News

A police spokeswoman, Luba Samri, said in a statement: “A passer-by complained that he witnessed a number of people intending to stage a provocative situation and disturbances by young Arabs toward policemen responsible for security in the area, apparently for propaganda purposes. In view of the complaint, the policemen detained a number of suspects in order to clarify the facts in a sensitive and discreet manner at the nearby police facility.”

She added: “When the details of the incident were clarified and no suspicion at all of criminal activity was raised, the detainees were released immediately by the investigating officer without any other steps taken in the matter.”
It should be criminal to stage provocations for the purpose of propaganda or perception management!

All eyes are turning to the start of WW3 in Syria. Israel will use that moment the world is distracted to launch more attacks against the Palestinians.

NO UNILATERAL ISRAELI PATH TO TWO STATES

If Israel’s leadership is serious about reaching a two-state solution, the road is defined and clear. It requires that Israelis grapple with the real interests and demands of Palestinians as of equal substance and value to their own, rather than wishing them away.
