Turkey's 'sultan for life' Erdogan will not be happy. NBC News is reporting that two US defense officials have confirmed President Trump has approved a plan to arm the Syrian Kurdish militia - an important U.S. ally in Syria in the fight against ISIS.

As AP confirms, US officials say Trump administration approves providing heavier weapons to Syria’s Kurds, despite "sharp objections" from Turkey. As a reminder, YPG forces have ties to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), which is considered a terrorist group by both the U.S. and Turkey, and yet which due to its location and ideological alignment, has long been an ally of the US. Two weeks ago, the US even went so far as to deploy troops along the Syria-US border after a Turkish airstrike killed several Kurdish fighters.

President Trump, a word, please; re-drawing the maps in the Middle East to your liking may well have consequences you and your team may not have considered, and may well not be of your liking.

Your pretext here is having the Kurds fighting ISIS/ISIL, but it is a completely false premise.

ISIL/ISIS was a deliberate creation by the US government to prevent the Syrian government from continuing, and supposedly create regime change in Damascus.

The creating of an Independent Kurdistan, to be cobbled together from territory currently claimed, respectively, by Turkey and Syria, will cost a great deal, in blood and money, and neither country is willing to give the territory up for the creation of such a country.

Al-Assad will either have to be assassinated, or regime changed by a vote; and Turkey's Erdogan may well pull Turkey out of NATO, which would put the alliance at great strategic discomfort.

And lastly, Mr. President, Russia's Putin will not stand idly by when the US and Kurdish forces attempt to carve up sovereign Syrian territory; this arming of the Syrian Kurdish militia in Syria will be seen as a definite attempt at Syrian destabilisation, and tantamount to an act of war it.
