Like apartheid South Africa did to Justify its repulsive approach toward its majority black citizens, Israel is making all sorts of similarly despicable arguments to justify its decades-old evil occupation and systematic persecution of Palestinians.

As some of us remember, the apartheid South African regime had argued that black South Africans ought to be grateful to the White regime for giving them employment and enabling them to have a semblance of decent life.

The White regime’s PR machine would shamelessly argue that “Our black citizens have a higher standard of living than other fellow black people anywhere in the continent.”

The technology originated in research from over a decade ago at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev when an Israeli scientist sought ways to use oils to create organic preservative properties, Gal-Or explained to Tazpit Press Service (TPS)

“These oils have been known about for thousands of years, but they are very volatile and evaporate very rapidly so their effectiveness disappears very quickly. The researchers wanted to transform the preservative properties into a liquid or powder and then release it very slowly and therefore multiply its effectiveness,” he said.

Gal-Or and his team then set about combining past research to create a powder that does not need to be sprayed or applied to the produce to provide protection. Instead, the powder dissolves piecemeal and can preserve the produce for up to three times longer than usual. Using these powders for the household simply “made sense,” Gal-Or said.

Two despised frontrunners, two dying parties and a deeply broken system: How did we get here?

To paraphrase a great American poet of the 1980s, this is not our beautiful house. We get a tiny breather in the political calendar this week, and it’s a useful moment to take half a step back from the most chaotic and disordered presidential campaign in living memory and ask ourselves the big question: What in the name of Jiminy Cricket is going on here? I spent the week digging into the past for clues to the strange dynamics of the present: To be clear, I did not conclude that Donald Trump is a new Hitler or that Bernie Sanders is a new Lenin, only that the parallels and the discontinuities were instructive.

SANDERS: And, let me say something else. As somebody who is 100% pro-Israel, in the long run — and this is not going to be easy, God only knows, but in the long run if we are ever going to bring peace to that region which has seen so much hatred and so much war, we are going to have to treat the Palestinian people with respect and dignity.

Saudi Arabia’s threat to sell off billions in American assets if 9/11 bill passes

The Saudi Arabian government has threatened to sell of hundreds of billions of dollars’ worth of American assets should the US Congress pass a bill that could hold the kingdom responsible for any role in the September 11, 2001 attacks, The New York Times reported.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Saudi Arabia knows that the US links 9-11 to every nation it wants to invade. First it was Afghanistan, then Iraq (after which George W. Bush admitted on TV Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11).

Saudi Arabia now finds themselves in the croshairs of the US war machine!

To find out if you are being lied to, look for what should be there and isn't, and what isn't there is a motive for Saudi Arabia to attack the United States on 9-11. Saudi Arabia has grown very rich off of the United States with the petrodollar deal. And they have invested much of that money in the United States. Why would Saudi Arabia do anything that would risk having the United States confiscate that money or end the lucrative petrodollar arrangement? Especially without some compelling reason? And as the Saudi threat confirms, if Saudi Arabia really did want to harm the United States they would not need to crash airplanes into buildings, all they need do is take their investment funds back and the US economy would implode. The resulting economic devastation would make the loss of the World Trade Towers seem like a minor inconvenience in comparison! And it would be perfectly legal for Saudi Arabia to do so.

And let us be honest, it wasn't Saudis who were arrested for cheering and clapping while the towers came crashing down, it was Mossad agents. Israeli owned companies like Odigo received advance warning of the attack. Saudi companies did not.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice (or thrice) shame on me!

US House members urge Obama to block anti-Israel resolution at UN

394 members of the 435-member House signed the letter sent to Obama on Thursday, urging him to use US veto power to block any United Nations resolutions perceived to be biased against Israel, US Representative Nita Lowey said Friday.

The letter came as the Palestinians are discussing with Arab countries a new draft resolution against Israel’s unlawful expansion of settlements in the occupied territories.

New strain of super-gonorrhoea is spreading across UK and medics warn it may become untreatable

A highly drug-resistant type of 'super-gonorrhoea' is spreading across the country, with senior medics warning it may become untreatable.

A powerful strain of the sexually transmitted superbug first seen in the north of England has now been found in the West Midlands and the South East, Public Health England (PHE) said.

The strain is 'highly resistant' to the antibiotic azithromycin, meaning medics are relying on a second drug, ceftriaxone, to treat it.

But there are no other effective drugs to tackle it, raising the prospect of it becoming untreatable if it builds further resistance.

Hillary’s “I’m Not a Crook” Moment

Either Hillary Clinton ignored the rules of the secrecy game. Or she willfully breached the rules. The undisputed top reason for the existence of the subterranean private server was for Hillary Clinton to keep her emails, well, secret, and thus not subjected to freedom of information laws.

Clinton even had a request for a government Blackberry denied by the NSA in 2009. Yet immediately afterwards she was busy on a Blackberry using private email accounts to contact State Department staff. Legitimate questions in this case include whether the subterranean server was protected against hacking. And whether State Department information morphed into Clinton Foundation information.

Disasters waiting to happen: 8 most dangerous nuclear plants near earthquake fault lines

The Japanese government says there won’t be any catastrophic damage, this time, at its nuclear facilities following Thursday night’s devastating earthquake and subsequent aftershocks.

Nine people are confirmed dead and more than 1,000 others injured after a 6.5-magnitude quake hit east of the city of Kumamoto.

The disaster revived terrifying memories of the Fukushima disaster, when a 15-meter post-quake tsunami caused a nuclear meltdown that polluted a sizeable portion of the country for decades.

Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga confirmed that there were no abnormalities at any nuclear facilities in the area, the Japan Times reported.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Of course, the Japanese government wasn't exactly forthcoming with the true scale of the damage at Fukushima at the time it happened!

Reince Priebus blasted for ‘major breach of trust’ by top RNC officials

By Ralph Z. Hallow - The Washington Times - Saturday, April 16, 2016
Republican National Chairman Reince Priebus is coming under fire from some of his top officials, all of whom have been considered loyalists throughout his six years in office.

They are accusing Mr. Priebus of concealing from members proposed changes to the rules that will govern the party’s July presidential nominating convention in Cleveland.

“I consider this to be a major breach of trust,” said RNC Rules Committee Chairman Bruce Ash of Arizona.Mr. Priebus‘ former loyalists say they have reluctantly concluded that forces at the RNC will stop at virtually nothing to keep the door open to the nomination of Ohio Gov. John Kasich at the July convention – or, as some skeptics fear, some “white knight” who moderates claim will have broader voter appeal this fall than either Donald Trump or Ted Cruz, the two top-delegate winners, have shown in most polls so far.

Security ramped up for Boston Marathon

'Leave the worrying to us': Security ramped up for Boston Marathon

BOSTON — Participants and spectators at this year's Boston Marathon will notice a large volume of uniformed police officers once again lining the 26.2-mile route.

Three years after bombings rocked the finish line of the race, security remains greatly enhanced, said David Procopio, a spokesman for the Massachusetts State Police. The course always had a large security presence, but officials increased it exponentially after two homemade pressure-cooker bombs killed three people and injured more than 260 in

"There will be a large contingent of plainclothes and investigative officers who will make observations of any suspicious activity, and observe the behavior of members of the public along the marathon route," Procopio said. "Behind the scenes, the public will not feel it, but there will be heavy intelligence as well."

Sanders and Trump gored through Hillary's and Jeb Bush's coronations

Wasn’t the upcoming 2016 election supposed to be the coronation of Republican Jeb Bush, by the hereditary right of divine kings?

After all, Jeb’s brother was president, their father was president, and their paternal grandfather wanted to be president. And Jeb had done the Bush family thing and gotten himself elected governor of Florida, and he did a good job at that, just like his brother had done a good job being governor of Texas, and it seemed like it would all be a shoo-in love fest and Bar and George would go back to using the White House as their retirement condo and zipping around Maine with Secret Service personnel in tow.

Until it all went wrong.

Now, angry, resentful Jeb heads up the “Dump Trump” movement, and to hell with what “the little people” want.

The alternative coronation was that of former First Lady Hillary Clinton, a lawyer who has had only one real ambition since her college days, and that is to be the first woman president of the United States.>>>

Trump Supporters Walk Out of Georgia Delegate Fight After Party Picks Cruz Supporter…’Uproar in the Hall’

Donald Trump supporters walked out of a delegate election in Georgia Saturday to protest a vote that robbed Trump of all of his slated delegates from a district that he won in the primary.

A Cruz-Rubio alliance at the district convention in Buford, Georgia helped to knock Trump supporters out of the district’s national delegation altogether. Cruz supporters implied that Trump’s people would “embarrass” the district at the convention in Cleveland. Then things got heated.

“This morning, I attended Georgia 7th Congressional District GOP convention as a delegate and a Donald Trump supporter. We were there to elect the 3 delegates and 3 alternates to the national convention,” Ronnie Kurtz told Breitbart News. “Per the primary results, two slots were for Trump, and one was for Rubio. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)
finished third in the primary and had no delegates allotted to him…Nonetheless, the hall was stacked with Cruz delegates.”

Saudi Arabia to Sell Billions in U.S. Assets

Saudi Arabia to Sell Billions in U.S. Assets if 9/11 Bill Passes: NYT
Newsweek: The Saudi Arabian government has threatened to sell of hundreds of billions of dollars' worth of American assets should the U.S. Congress pass a bill that could hold the kingdom responsible for any role in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, the New York Times reported on Friday.

The newspaper reported that Saudi foreign minister Adel al-Jubeir told U.S. lawmakers last month that "Saudi Arabia would be forced to sell up to $750 billion in Treasury securities and other assets in the United States before they could be in danger of being frozen by American courts."

The bill, which passed the Senate Judiciary Committee earlier this year, would take away immunity from foreign governments in cases "arising from a terrorist attack that kills an American on American soil."

Ted Cruz’s College Roommate from Hell

From the ensuing academic year Mazin apparently has never recovered. And since Cruz’s ascent to the national stage in 2012, when he was elected to the U.S. Senate from the Lone Star State, Mazin has been waging a Twitter crusade against him: “My freshman year college roommate Ted Cruz is going to be elected Senator,” he wrote in October 2012. “In case I hadn’t made it clear, he’s also a huge ***hole.”

Four years later, Mazin is still tweeting. Cruz has “no principles, no moral center, no values,” he tweeted in March. “Just ambition.” “Ted has no empathy and desires to control people.

He’s a bad person.” Cruz is “devious, hypocritical, unethical, pointlessly ambitious, [and] valueless.” He’s “creepy, unfunny, mean, [and] boring.”

And those are the more thoughtful criticisms. Cruz is also a “jackass,” a “d***head,” and “garbage.” His campaign manager, Jeff Roe, is a “sick f**k.”

We Can't Trust a Major American Police Department. That's a Problem.

This past year, in the shadow of the Laquan McDonald police shooting scandal, investigative reporters from The Guardian and their lawyers have exposed, in numerous articles, that Chicago's history of torture and cover-up is repeating itself, this time at Homan Square.

As the Guardian has documented, Homan Square, named after a notorious Chicago slumlord Samuel Homan, was, until recently, a secret site where thousands of people of color have been – and apparently still are – held and interrogated for hours, "off the books", often without being under arrest. They are handcuffed to a wall in dark and foreboding rooms and cells, with inconsistent access to food, drink or access to bathroom facilities. The Guardian's continuing investigation reveals that when this sensory deprivation does not yield sufficient cooperation, the police interrogators all too often employ physical brutality that meets the United Nations Convention Against Torture's definition of torture. Cases of tasering, which is a very real form of electric shock, suffocation, anal rape, beatings with batons, threats with a weapon and questionable deaths while in custody are now all on the public record. And, once again, we see police officers committing perjury and innocent victims being charged with crimes that they did not commit.

Flashback April 2015: Top medical journal, The Lancet, warns much published science is bogus, can't be trusted

A lot of what is published is incorrect. I am not allowed to say who made this remark because we were asked to observe Chatham House rules. We were also asked not to take photographs of slides. Those who worked for government agencies pleaded that their comments especially remain unquoted, since the forthcoming UK election meant they were living in purdah — a chilling state where severe restrictions on freedom of speech are placed on anyone on the government's payroll. Why the paranoid concern for secrecy and non-attribution? Because this symposium — on the reproducibility and reliability of biomedical research, held at the Wellcome Trust in London last week — touched on one of the most sensitive issues in science today: the idea that something has gone fundamentally wrong with one of our greatest human creations.

The case against science is straightforward:much of the scientific literature, perhaps half, may simply be untrue.Afflicted by studies with small sample sizes, tiny effects, invalid exploratory analyses, and flagrant conflicts of interest, together with an obsession for pursuing fashionable trends of dubious importance, science has taken a turn towards darkness. As one participant put it, “poor methods get results”.

15 Saudi ‘hijackers’ were CIA agents working for US: Scholar

Fifteen of the 9/11 “hijackers” from Saudi Arabia were CIA agents working for the United States government, which was seeking to destroy the Middle East for Israel and to double the American military budget, says Dr. Kevin Barrett, an American academic who has been studying the events of 9/11 since late 2003. Dr. Barrett, a founding member of the Scientific Panel for the Investigation of 9/11, made the remarks in a phone interview with Press TV on Wednesday, after a number of US lawmakers called on the White House to declassify documents that shed light on Saudi Arabia’s possible complicity in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The former congressmen say the 28-page classified document proves two Saudi nationals who were behind the 9/11 attacks received support and assistance from Riyadh while in the United States.

Landmark Vatican conference rejects just war theory, asks for encyclical on nonviolence

The participants of a first-of-its-kind Vatican conference have bluntly rejected the Catholic church's long-held teachings on just war theory, saying they have too often been used to justify violent conflicts and the global church must reconsider Jesus' teachings on nonviolence.
Members of a three-day event co-hosted by the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace and the international Catholic peace organization Pax Christi have also strongly called on Pope Francis to consider writing an encyclical letter, or some other "major teaching document," reorienting the church's teachings on violence.

"There is no 'just war,'" the some 80 participants of the conference state in an appeal they released Thursday morning.

"Too often the 'just war theory' has been used to endorse rather than prevent or limit war," they continue. "Suggesting that a 'just war' is possible also undermines the moral imperative to develop tools and capacities for nonviolent transformation of conflict."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Bravo, Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, and Pax Christi: well done!!!

I hope (and pray) Pope Francis decides to endorse this with an encyclical letter; this is a very positive outcome to this symposium, and having the weight of the church behind peace would be a wonderful evolution for the Catholic church in the 21st century.

Turkey Backed Anti-ISIS Offensive in North Syria a ‘Fiasco’

Pressing the US to abandon its support for the Kurdish YPG, the Turkish government has thrown considerable effort behind a group of rebel factions in the northern Aleppo Province to launch an offensive against ISIS, seeing that as a way to convince the US that non-Kurdish rebels can be successful too.

It didn’t take long for it to become a disaster. The rebels captured the town of al-Rai, and saw it as a major gain. Four days later, they lost the town back outright, and the ISIS counteroffensive pushed back even further, hitting the territory of the Turkmen-dominated rebels.

Not only did they not keep al-Rai, but the fighting has displaced some 30,000 civilians, who are all flocking to the Turkish border, and are by and large being prevented from crossing by Turkish forces, who don’t want any more refugees.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Turkish government, and military, get an F in tactics here; but moreover, the human cost in terms of the misery of refugees who cannot go home, and are not accepted into Turkey, after the mess Turkey created, is blatantly immoral, hypocritical, and unjust.

1. He had his conscience surgically removed before running for office.
2. He is pathologically incapable of thinking anything through to its logical conclusion.

And to NATO, a small memo: you had darned well better take a good, hard look at that second issue before you decide on defending Turkey militarily for whatever alleged reason.

The demonstration through the center of the capital will end on Trafalgar Square around 6pm.

The March for Health, Homes, Jobs and Education has been organized by the People's Assembly Against Austerity alongside several trade unions, including Unite. Organizers are demanding that David Cameron’s “vicious government” end its policy of austerity.

“They've attacked junior doctors and student nurses while privatizing the NHS. They plan to force all schools to become academies and teachers are now balloting to strike over pay and conditions. They've done nothing to address the growing housing crisis.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

GOOD! This couldn't happen to a more deserving British politician, in light of the Panama Papers, and his participation in tax-dodging schemes while demanding everyday Brits live in crippling austerity.

In Texas, some local GOPs call for statewide vote on secession

A handful of Texas Republican district or county conventions in March passed resolutions calling for a vote on secession, paving the way for a potentially awkward debate at the state GOP conference in May.
A Nederland-based pro-independence activist group, the Texas Nationalist Movement, said at least 22 of the hundreds of conventions passed secession items. Texas GOP chairman Tom Mechler said he "would be very surprised" if that many had indeed passed the conventions.
The Houston Chronicle reached out to GOP officials in the counties listed by the Nationalist Movement. Ten responded and all confirmed passage of the resolutions. An official count should be available from the Republican Party of Texas in early May.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looking at the insanity and corruption of the Federal government, who can blame thinking Texans for examining this possibility?!?

OF course, it won't end well, should this be passed; you're looking at a Federal government invasion, total martial law, and a US military occupation of the state.

But the embarrassment factor for the US government, at having had to do this, will create a "V for Vendetta" moment in this country.

And if you have not seen the movie, please rent it; it is a magnificent, cautionary tale of government overreach, and the ultimate public reaction to that overreach. (Warning; lots of violence, and totally not appropriate for children).

When Lobbying Was Illegal

Wouldn’t it be nice if lobbying were illegal? It’s a tempting thought. But it seems impossible. Lobbying is a multi-billion dollar industry and an accepted—if hated—part of American politics. American courts have ruled that lobbying is constitutionally protected free speech, and lawyers and laymen alike generally accept this.

Barely a day had passed since the historic admission of gold and silver price rigging by Deutsche bank, which as we reported on Thursday was settled with not only "valuable monetary consideration", but Deutsche's "cooperation in pursuing claims" against other members of the cartel, i.e., exposing the manipulation of other cartel members, and the class action lawsuits have begun.

Overnight, two class action lawsuits seeking $1 billion in damages on behalf of Canadian gold and silver investors were launched in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

The first class action alleges that the defendants, including The Bank of Nova Scotia, conspired to manipulate prices in the silver market under the guise of the benchmark fixing process, known as the London Silver Fixing, for a fifteen-year period.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Bring the popcorn!

It's always a treat to watch the rich eat their own!!

But I would almost be willing to bet that, at the end of the day, we will see out-of-court settlements, in which the main mechanisms of these manipulations will be hidden from public view.

Remember, the US is not intervening in Syria. According to The Wall Street Journal, the CIA has drawn up plans to provide more-powerful weapons to the so-called moderate Syrian rebels if the current truce in Syria collapses. While the CIA has been arming rebels for years, this new plan would included sending advanced weapons that could be used against Syrian and Russian aircraft and artillery.

This latest plan, labeled “Plan B” in the WSJ piece, comes after the US supported flooding Syria with weapons from Saudi Arabia and other regional powers. The weapons were given initially to groups like ISIS before being sent primarily to “moderate” rebel groups such as Al Nusra: the Al-Qaeda affiliate in Syria.

The US also has its own arms program, which has been sent into networks that include Al Nusra, leading some to wonder if the US has decided to partner with Al Qaeda, much as it did in the 1980s to fight the Soviet Union in Afghanistan.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would like to politely remind the US government that doing the same, thing, in the same way, and yet expecting a different outcome, is a classical definition of insanity.

And trust me, the US government is doing everything in its power to insure that the cease-fire doesn't hold.

Russia, of course, has other ideas.

And war with Russia right now would be a lousy idea, because at this point in its history, the US military doesn't have the weaponry, the troop strength, the money, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war with Russia (and/or China).

A student on a bus in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania caught a cop on video angrily berating a kid for smiling. The incident highlights the modern reality in public schools where blue-clad soldiers of law with badges and guns are a normal, everyday presence.

In the video, uploaded to Facebook, an unidentified police officer stalks down the aisle of the bus, directing his rage at a student in the back who performed the outrageous act of smiling.

“You think you’re funny…you think you’re funny.”

As he reaches the student, the cop leans over the boy and says, “Smile in my face one more time, I’m gonna drag your ass off this bus and back to that fucking police car.”

The student is not in view of the camera, but can be heard saying, “Alright, alright.”

“Don’t smile one more time!” the cop says as he leaves the bus.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The contemporary school experience is not at all focused on learning, but submission to authority, no matter how much emotional and physical pain and violence that produces.

If you want your child to really be educated, take them out of the public school, and home school them.

If you live in a state that is anti-home schooling, move to a state where this is a respected alternative.

School districts are paid by the State and Federal government based on the number of students in their district; disable the funding through keeping kids safe and home schooled.

If that will not work, find a private school, or a magnet school in your area with a reputation for turning out kids who have the skills to make them competitive in later life.

Not only do your kid's educational lives depend on this;but also, the future of our society, as a place where critical thinking, and good decision making, are encouraged.

Trump likely to win West Virginia but lose delegates

Trump is well-positioned for a resounding victory in West Virginia’s May 10 primary, but his win will be accompanied by a delegate selection process stacked in favor of people with last names at the beginning of the alphabet — rather than his most committed supporters.

It’s a quirk of West Virginia’s mind-bogglingly complex delegate election process that has the Trump campaign on red alert and seems likely to leave the mogul with weaker support at the national convention than he’s expected to earn in the state’s primary. It’s yet another convoluted primary system likely to add fuel to Trump’s complaints that the rules of the Republican nomination process are rigged.

For anyone who, thanks to the Obama administration’s years of stonewalling, has forgotten about Fast and Furious, here’s the short version. In 2010, a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol Agent was killed while on patrol near the Mexican border. The only two firearms found at the scene were semi-automatic rifles the Obama-Holder Justice Department allowed to “walk” as part of Fast and Furious, a firearms trafficking operation. That operation allowed approximately 2,000 firearms to flow illegally into the hands of Mexican cartel associates.

When the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform tried to investigate the scandal, Team Obama stonewalled. First, it denied that law enforcement officers allowed straw purchasers to buy firearms illegally in the United States with the intent to traffic them without apprehension. Almost a year later, it finally admitted that this is precisely what had happened.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, the very same government that says law-abiding Americans may not own assault style weapons (and given their way, any guns at all) spent YOUR tax dollars sending military style weapons to Mexican drug criminals.

Just keep that in mind when you sign that 1040-I-am-your-slave form!

The Little-Known D.C. Holiday That’s Giving You More Time To File Your Taxes

Although most Americans know that April 15 is Tax Day, they may not realize it’s not a firm deadline this year. Your taxes aren’t actually due until next week — thanks to a little-known D.C. law that is invigorating the nation’s capital to push for more independence.

This year, the deadline for filing taxes is being pushed back to Monday, April 18 to accommodate Emancipation Day, a holiday celebrated in Washington, D.C. that commemorates the anniversary of the abolition of slavery in the city.

Emancipation Day is usually celebrated on April 16, which is the date that President Abraham Lincoln freed about 3,100 slaves in D.C. back in 1862. But that date falls on a Saturday this year. Emancipation Day is instead being marked on Friday, April 15 — which prompted the IRS to move back the official tax-filing deadline.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, to celebrate emancipation, the modern slaves get a few more days to polish their slave chains.

Half-truth Hillary finally exposed: This was the debate where Bernie Sanders changed the Democratic Party for good

What always disappointed me the most about President Obama was how he never even tried to change the language of politics that had been established in the eight years of the Bush presidency.

From immigration (on which he never articulated a different rhetoric than the punitive law-and-order one put into effect by his predecessor) to civil liberties to war crimes to inequality to health care to race relations to trade, he has kept to the establishment line on all substantive policy issues.

And that's where Bernie Sanders has succeeded so brilliantly. Sanders has managed to draw level with Hillary Clinton in the national polls, and seriously threatens to upset the carefully balanced apple cart if he can pull out a win in New York. As a result, he has pushed the establishment to acknowledge, at least rhetorically, the grievances of the powerless. That is no mean accomplishment, and he and his supporters should feel proud for having come this far.

Clinton's Pro-Free Trade Policies Lead to Wider Illegal Money Laundering in Panama

In 2011, President Obama and Hillary Clinton, then Secretary of State, sold the U.S./Panama Free Trade Agreement as a fix for Panama's secret tax haven and money laundering operations. Obama asserted at the time: "Thanks to the leadership of President Martinelli, there have been a range of significant reforms in banking and taxation in Panama. And we are confident now that a free trade agreement would be good for our country."

Last week, President Obama appeared to be singing a different tune. Obama said that activities like those exposed by the release of the eleven million plus Panama Papers were a result of poorly designed laws. Driven mad by the horror of war: A shattering new book lays bare the extent of the mental torment the Somme exacted 100 years ago... and how pitiless top brass covered it up

The British Army doctor serving in a casualty station just behind the front line in France knew ‘shell shock’ when he saw it.

Men in the trenches whose minds had gone under the barrage of explosives falling on their heads from enemy guns, or by being steeped in so much gore and misery for months on end, had a haunted look about them.

‘They are exhausted, their faces twitch and hands and arms shake constantly,’ he told his wife in a letter home. They were unable to answer the simplest of questions, their eyes were glassy and bulged out of their sockets, their skin was yellow, their teeth chattered, they swallowed constantly. Some could not speak at all. Others just stared into space without comprehension.

And in the summer of 1916, to his alarm, there were more and more of them reporting to him with these catatonic symptoms.

The Islamic State terror group is operating a camp in the northern Mexican state of Chihuahua, just eight miles from the U.S. border, Judicial Watch reported Tuesday.

Citing sources that include a “Mexican Army field grade officer and a Mexican Federal Police Inspector,” the conservative watchdog group reported that the Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL, is organizing only a few miles from El Paso, Texas, in the Anapra neighborhood of Juárez and in Puerto Palomas.

Judicial Watch sources said that “coyotes” working for the notorious Juarez Cartel are smuggling Islamic State terrorists across the U.S. border between the New Mexico cities of Santa Teresa and Sunland Park, as well as “through the porous border between Acala and Fort Hancock, Texas.”

Saudi Arabia wants US to kill 9/11 bill, threatens to dump US assets worth $750 bn

Saudi Arabia appears to be blackmailing the US, saying it would sell off American assets worth a 12-digit figure sum in dollars if Congress passes a bill allowing the Saudi government to be held responsible for the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Blackmail is perhaps too strong a word (although the western media will use it to demonize Saudi Arabia). I think "self defense" is more apt.

First scans of a brain on LSD

First scans of a brain on LSD show it lighting up like a pinball machine
Scientists have published the first images of what the human brain looks like under the influence of LSD, one of the most powerful drugs ever created.

What’s more, the new study by Imperial College London explores what researchers say are potential medical uses for the illegal psychedelic known as acid, including treating mental health disorders.
“For brain researchers, studying how psychedelic drugs such as LSD alter the ‘normal’ brain state is a way to study the biological phenomenon that is consciousness,” David Nutt, a neuropsychopharmacologist at Imperial College London and senior researcher on the study, told the science journal Nature.

“We ultimately would also like to see LSD deployed as a therapeutic tool.”

Angry and frustrated upstate New York swings behind Trump

Binghamton (United States) (AFP) - What do a New York lawyer, a business owner who calls himself a left-leaning Republican and a construction worker who elected Barack Obama have in common? They're voting for Donald Trump.

Binghamton supporters are not blind to Trump's shortcomings -- his tabloid divorces, business flops, dubious policy pronouncements, talk of banning Muslims. But it just makes him more human, they argue. He may be imperfect, but he's the best of the bunch, they say.
