Let it snow: Temperatures to plunge to record low

The bitter cold snap is set to smash a weather record that has stood for more than a century as an icy chill takes hold of the South Island.

Temperatures are set to plunge to a frigid minus 15C across the South Island tonight - but it's expected to be even colder overnight Saturday.

Philip Wallace captured this footage showing snow falling in Wellington at the Rimutaka summit.

How the World was Deceived about Global Warming and Climate Change

Current weather is normal; that is, it is well within the range of all previous weather and climate variations. There are no dramatic increases in temperature, precipitation, hurricanes, tornadoes, or any other severe weather. The climate is changing just as it always has and always will and the rate of change is perfectly normal. Of course, that is not what the government, environmentalists, or the media promote and as a result most of the public believe. The misconception is deliberate and central to the exploitation of global warming and climate change as the vehicle for a political agenda.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed, and hence clamorous to be led to safety, by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." -- H.L. Mencken

How the World was Deceived about Global Warming and Climate Change

Some good facts in this article. The carbon is bad thing started when Stern, Rothschilds' head accountant, did a report that kicked off the Cap and Trade market. Around 2000 from memory. This was to create another pool of profit for Rothschilds. All Cap and Trade does is take money away from fixing the problem and is diverting attention from the existential threat of the toxic shit coming out of Rothschilds factories. They are breaking the DNA chains and they can't be unbroke. Research has suggested we are 15% less fertile and 15% less intelligent than a century ago.

Study: West Antarctic – Poster Child of Global Warming – is Getting Colder

The West Antarctic has become yet another victim of global cooling.
According to the latest study, in Nature, it has experienced

“an absence of regional warming since the late 1990s”

“The annual mean temperature has decreased at a statistically significant rate, with the most rapid cooling during the Austral summer. Temperatures have decreased as a consequence of a greater frequency of cold, east-to-southeasterly winds, resulting from more cyclonic conditions in the northern Weddell Sea associated with a strengthening mid-latitude jet. These circulation changes have also increased the advection of sea ice towards the east coast of the peninsula, amplifying their effects.”

What all this means, in plain English, is that the climate alarmists have just gone and lost one of their most cherished poster children.

Philippines reviewing 'crazy' climate pledges: Duterte

Duterte, who was elected to a six-year term in May, also said poor countries such as the Philippines should be allowed to pursue industrialisation to improve the lives of their people.

"If you will not allow us to reach parity, you are already there and we are still here, then I'm saying that's crazy. I will not agree to that."

Duterte said the treaty restrictions would be difficult to implement and the legislature was already reviewing the document.

In Peru's Andes, bitter cold devastates alpaca farmers

After three days of heavy snowfall and bone-chilling temperatures, Mateo Mullisaca watches as one of his alpacas falls to the ground in agony on his farm almost 16,400 feet (5,000 meters) high in Peru's Andes.

"Without water and without food, the weak ones die," the 62-year-old shepherd says as the animal takes its final breath with vultures lurking nearby.

Peru's government has declared a state of emergency in the southern Andes and promised $3 million in relief amid a bitter cold snap that has killed 50,000 alpacas. Authorities fear that if the mercury continues to hit minus 9 Fahrenheit (minus 23 Celsius) as many as 300,000 camelids could die, devastating the largely indigenous families who raise them.

Global Warming Expedition Stopped In Its Tracks By Arctic Sea Ice

The Polar Ocean Challenge is taking a two month journey that will see them go from Bristol, Alaska, to Norway, then to Russia through the North East passage, back to Alaska through the North West passage, to Greenland and then ultimately back to Bristol. Their objective, as laid out by their website, was to demonstrate “that the Arctic sea ice coverage shrinks back so far now in the summer months that sea that was permanently locked up now can allow passage through.”

There has been one small hiccup thus-far though: they are currently stuck in Murmansk, Russia because there is too much ice blocking the North East passage the team said didn’t exist in summer months, according to Real Climate Science.

Real Climate Science also provides a graph showing that current Arctic temperatures — despite alarmist claims of the Arctic being hotter than ever — is actually below normal.

Winter storm warning issued for Southeast Alaska

Heavy snowfall was headed for Southeast Alaska Saturday night, and the National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning in anticipation of the region's first significant snowfall of the season.

Forecasters said a low pressure system moving across the Gulf of Alaska will push warm, moist air into the region and generate a powerful blizzard. The warning for Juneau, Petersburg, Wrangell and Hyder, which is more urgent than an advisory, will be in effect from midnight to 4 p.m. Sunday.

"During this 36-hour winter weather event, snowfall amounts ranging from 2 inches to as much as 18 inches are forecast," the weather service wrote on Facebook. "The high snowfall amounts could lead to snow removal issues and hazardous driving conditions."

UPDATE: Claim that jet stream crossing equator is ‘climate emergency’ is utter nonsense

Two bloggers have made a stunning claim that has spread like wildfire on the Internet: They say the Northern Hemisphere jet stream, the high-altitude river of winds that separates cold air from warm air, has done something new and outrageous. They say it has crossed the equator, joining the jet stream in the Southern Hemisphere. One said this signifies that the jet stream is ‘wrecked‘, the other said it means we have a “global climate emergency.”
But these shrill claims have no validity — air flow between the hemispheres occurs routinely. The claims are unsupported and unscientific, and they demonstrate the danger of wild assertions made by non-experts reaching and misleading the masses.

Why the sun going blank means a ‘Game of Thrones’-like winter is coming

Has climate change been disproved? Large Hadron boffins cast shock DOUBT on global warming

A study published this week in the journal Nature has looked more closely at the tiny particles within clouds, known as cloud seeds, that help cool the planet and found they can be produced naturally.

Clouds, including natural ones and those from aerosols, are seen by the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as the single biggest source of uncertainty about the so-called human-caused climate change.

The problem stems from not knowing how cloudy the world was before the industrial era, and the fact that some of the gases produced by burning fossil fuels said to warm the plant in the long-term, actually help cool it in the short-term through cloud formation.

But now CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, have left the issue even more confusing after discovering, while creating the fake cloud, that trees could have been putting these aerosols into the atmosphere since they first grew at the time of the dinosaurs.

A spotless sun: Incredible image shows solar activity at its quietest in 100 years - and some say it could trigger a mini ice age

During Solar Max, huge sunspots and intense solar flares are a daily occurrence. Auroras appear in Florida. Radiation storms knock out satellites.

The last such episode took place in the years around 2000-2001.

During Solar Minimum, the opposite occurs. Solar flares are almost non-existent while whole weeks go by without a single, tiny sunspot to break the monotony of the blank sun. This is what we are experiencing now.

The longest minimum on record, the Maunder Minimum of 1645-1715, lasted an incredible 70 years.

During this period, sunspots were rarely observed and the solar cycle seemed to have broken down completely.

The period of quiet coincided with the Little Ice Age, a series of extraordinarily bitter winters in Earth's northern hemisphere.

We may NEVER know if we are living in a computer simulation, warns Bill Nye

The question may have crossed your mind at some point – what if we are all living in a simulated reality, and everyone you know is just a character in a sophisticated video game?

Mainstream science, despite all its claims of objectivity, and despite the fact it attempts to lay claim to the truth, is itself a religion. "But trust us; our government weather stations are reporting sky high temperatures. And, oh yes, Manhattan will be under water if you don't pay a carbon tax!" -- Official White Horse Souse

Jun 13 08:35

So Obama decided to warn everyone that Manhattan is about to turn into Atlantis.

"The majority of people believe in things like science -- and scientists. And so when scientists tell us that the planet is getting warmer and we need to do something about it, the majority of people think that's a good idea, let's do something about that, because we don't want Manhattan to be underwater."

Manhattan going underwater isn't science. It's science fiction.

It's the sort of thing you get from watching movies like The Day After Tomorrow where evil Republican politicians neglect the Flying Global Warming Monster and suddenly waves cover Manhattan and everything freezes.

That's not science. It's hardly even science fiction.

How a liberal bias is killing science

Oh boy. Remember when a study came out that said that conservative political beliefs are associated with psychotic traits, such as authoritarianism and tough-mindedness? While liberalism is associated with "social desirability?"

The American Journal of Political Science recently had to print a somewhat embarrassing correction, as the invaluable website Retraction Watch pointed out: It turns out somebody made an Excel error. And the study's results aren't a little off. They aren't a lot off. They are exactly backwards.

June Snow Blankets Alaska's North Slope, Mt. Washington, New Hampshire

The Mount Washington Observatory, where winds howl and snow falls most months of the year, sits at an elevation of 6,288 feet.

It has been quite wintry over the past couple of days, thanks to the aforementioned sharp southward dip in the jet stream.

Wednesday and Thursday, a total of 1.8 inches of snow was measured at the observatory, accompanied by average wind speeds from 55-66 mph, according to observatory records.

Blank Star for the first time in two years leaves our Sun's X-ray output flatlining

Four days ago, sunspots disappeared from our star altogether and haven't yet come back (but they will). are reporting: As a result, the sun's X-ray output is flatlining.

There hasn't been even a tiny solar flare since last week.

Quiet conditions are likely to continue as long as the face of the sun remains blank.

Global warming? Snow falls in Siberia to mark official start of summer

The Siberian stereotype says its always cold here, but this is a fallacy. Usually. Elsewhere, for example in Chita, the temperature is 24C, and in many regions there are growing risks for forest fires.

But as these pictures show, in some areas of western Siberia, the thermometers have plunged to around zero. Residents of Surgut, Noyabrsk, Novy Urengoy and other cities woke on 1 June, the first day of summer, to find it looked more like Chirstmas.

In some areas there were even snow drifts. In Noyabrsk, the local administration restarted heating supplies to homes.

Here in Hawaii local folks are saying this is the coldest June they can remember!

What Would Happen If Humans Vanished From the Planet? Video Shows “Lights Out. Nature Takes Over.”

After the crisis, there could be nothing left of human populations.

There is no doubt that a disaster big enough to wipe out humanity exists – the threat of an EMP, a plague-level outbreak event, etc.

How long would it take for nature to reclaim the vestiges and ruins of civilization that would be left on the planet after a mass extinction event in which humans no longer existed on earth?

Latest Climategate BEX - “Old water”: The latest explanation for the Antarctic Ice Anomaly

A new research paper claims that the Antarctic Ocean is staying cold, because it receives large infusions of “old water”, water which has been sitting in the freezing cold ocean depths since before the start of the machine age.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Carbonazis have been screaming for decades that human-caused global warming was melting the polar ice, especially in Antarctica. They even sent a ship down there to document the melting ice ... which got trapped in the ice and had to be rescued.

But rather than admit their pet theory is flawed, the Carbonazis have come up with a new excuse why their predictions keep failing and why we should all pay carbon taxes despite the fact that their theory fails to accurately predict the real world.

Hail-o! Spring storm brings rain, hail, snow to southern Colorado

There was so much in areas like Powers Boulevard and South Carefree Circle that snow plows were dispatched to move it all.

“Roads are terrible. I was over in Village 7 and the hail was quarter-size and bigger; thought it was going to take out my windshield, so I had to stop and hide for cover," said Sue Carlsen.

In Falcon, it was a very similar scene. Photos shared to the 11 News Facebook page showed hail compacted to where it looked more like snow.

Bravo! Climate Skeptics Rejoice! Trump echoes Climate Depot’s call to dismantle & Defund UN/EPA climate agenda!

Trump railed against the “totalitarian tactics” of the Environmental Protection Agency. He pledged to dismantle the EPA entirely in an April town hall, although he referred to it at the time as the “Department of Environmental” and “DEP.” He assailed Hillary Clinton for saying in March that fracking projects would be unlikely to pass muster under her environmental regime.

“Hillary’s agenda is job destruction. My agenda is job creation,” Trump said.

Senators ask DOJ to end ‘abuse of power’, ‘prosecutorial misconduct’ in persecuting climate skeptics

U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Mike Lee (R-Utah), Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), David Perdue (R-Ga.), and David Vitter (R-La.) today sent a letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch, demanding that the Department of Justice (DOJ) end its use of law enforcement resources against political opponents of President Obama’s energy agenda.

“These actions provide disturbing confirmation that government officials at all levels are threatening to wield the sword of law enforcement to silence debate on climate change,” the letter reads. “As you well know, initiating criminal prosecution for a private entity’s opinions on climate change is a blatant violation of the First Amendment and an abuse of power that rises to the level of prosecutorial misconduct.”

The letter goes on to demand that Attorney General Lynch confirm that all investigations into any private individual’s views on climate change end within 14 days and promise not to initiate any future such investigations.
