As ISIS Loses Ground, US Is on a Collision Course With Syria and Iran

As ISIS loses ground in Syria, the US continues to deploy additional forces in the area. There is no expectation of the war so much ending as the US transitioning to a war against Syria and Iran for control over Syria, something some members of the National Security Council are openly advocating.

America’s long-stated goal of regime change in Syria makes this transition something of an easy sell as part of the narrative, and hawks have been salivating at a shot at fighting Iran so long they’ll likely embrace anything Iran is involved in, much as they have wars like the Saudi War in Yemen, where Iran’s connection is largely a myth.

US, Russia Continue to Inch Toward Confrontation in Syria

In backing the rebels in the early part of the Syrian Civil War, the US was rather cynically engaging in a proxy war against Russia, angling for regime change in Russia’s main Mediterranean ally, and the host of their lone Mediterranean base.

Syria’s been a source of tension ever since between the two countries, but as America’s direct ground involvement in Syria increasingly involves attacking government targets, the risk of direct military conflict between the US and Russia, with Syria as the backdrop, is growing precipitously.

US military involvement in Syria long was limited to attacks against ISIS targets, with the occasional attack against al-Qaeda forces in the Syrian northwest. Despite US assurances that strikes a few months ago against a Shi’ite militia in the country’s southeast were a one-time deal, those strikes have grown increasingly common.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears to me to be only a matter of time before the US and Russia are in direct military confrontation in Syria.

I don't know what the Vegas odds are on this, but I would suggest, with the ratcheting up of tensions here, we will see this happening sooner rather than later.

Saudis, Allies Have ‘List of Demands’ for Qatar

Though the details are not yet a matter of public record, US officials are confirming that Saudi Arabia and its allies have prepared a “list of demands” for Qatar related to ending the blockade of the tiny Persian Gulf nation. It is not clear if the Qataris have been given the demands yet, with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson saying he hopes they will be presented with them “soon.”

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and the Foreign Minister of Qatar
While we don’t know the content of this list of demands, we do still have the huge list of demands given to Qatar by Saudi Arabia two weeks ago, which may well form the basis for this latest list. This included severing all diplomatic ties with Iran, the permanent shut down of al-Jazeera, and a pledge never publicly contradict any GCC member nations, among other things.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We will see how this plays out; but if Saudi Arabia ultimately invades Qatar, because Qatar refuses to yield to Saudi Arabia's demands, and with Turkish troops on the ground here, and Iran pledging support, what will the orders be to US military commanders in the country if this happens?!?

Democrats Block Witnesses from Testifying in House Intel Probe

House Democrats are continuing to block testimony from about a dozen witnesses who sought to appear before the intelligence oversight panel investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Congressional officials said one of the key witnesses, former informal adviser to the Trump campaign Carter Page, was scheduled to testify at a closed hearing of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

But Democrats on the committee blocked the testimony, asserting they needed more time to prepare.

"He's the guy that many Democrats have been pointing to as the supposed mastermind and you would think they were interested hearing his story," said one Capitol Hill official.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Democrats don't want Page testifying, because the truth he will tell will simply cement the reality that there's no "there" there to the charges of Russian tampering with the 2016 elections.

Trump’s Preferred Candidate Wins Again, This Time in Saudi Arabia

President Trump wasted no time on Wednesday calling the newly named crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman. Less than 24 hours after King Salman elevated Prince Mohammed, his 31-year-old son, Mr. Trump offered congratulations and celebrated the monarchy’s cooperation in rooting out terrorist financing and other issues.

Even more than Karen Handel, the Republican who won a hotly contested House seat in a special election in Georgia this week, Prince Mohammed was Mr. Trump’s anointed candidate — in this case, for the byzantine struggle to control the House of Saud.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The "itch", for Prince Mohammed, includes the continued genocide in Yemen, where Yemeni children are being massacred and maimed for life by Saudi bombings on a daily basis; with US military help, Saudi Arabia has closed the ports, so food cannot get in, and children are dying from malnutrition; and now, cholera has taken firm hold in Yemen, and there is no treatment for it.

Oh, and did I mention the use of depleted uranium weapons in Yemen, which is causing massive birth defects, and still births, in Yemeni children?!?

The "itch" also includes finding any which way to conjure up, and "sell" a war with Iran, Saudi Arabia's alleged "existential threat" in the region, which will most probably include war with Russia.

With "friends" like Prince Mohammed....the US government is looking at one hell of a lot more wars in the Middle East, much blood and money spent, and most likely, the reinstitution of the draft, both for our young men, and young women.

ROGER STONE: END THE WAR ON DRUGS - LET TRUMP/CONGRESS KNOW!

THE UNITED STATES CANNABIS COALITION (USCC) IS A PRO-CANNABIS NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO INFLUENCING FEDERAL LEVEL DECISION MAKERS

---VIDEO---

Jun 22 07:59

THE HISTORY CHANNEL IS FINALLY TELLING THE STUNNING SECRET STORY OF THE WAR ON DRUGS

For decades the U.S. government has engaged in a shifting series of alliances of convenience with the world’s largest drug cartels.

The good news for Grassley, and for everyone else, is that starting Sunday night and running through Wednesday the History Channel is showing a new four-part series called “America’s War on Drugs.” Not only is it an important contribution to recent American history, it’s also the first time U.S. television has ever told the core truth about one of the most important issues of the past 50 years.

That core truth is: The war on drugs has always been a pointless sham. For decades the federal government has engaged in a shifting series of alliances of convenience with some of the world’s largest drug cartels. So while the U.S. incarceration rate has quintupled since President Richard Nixon first declared the war on drugs in 1971, top narcotics dealers have simultaneously enjoyed protection at the highest levels of power in America.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mike has recorded this, and we saw a couple of episodes last night.

And if you see this, and do not wake up to the reality of the narcopracy in which we have been living, you never will.

RUSSIA-GATE FLOPS AS DEMOCRATS’ GOLDEN TICKET

The national Democratic Party and many liberals have bet heavily on the Russia-gate investigation as a way to oust President Trump from office and to catapult Democrats to victories this year and in 2018, but the gamble appears not to be paying off.

The Democrats’ disappointing loss in a special election to fill a congressional seat in an affluent Atlanta suburb is just the latest indication that the strategy of demonizing Trump and blaming Russia for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 defeat may not be the golden ticket that some Democrats had hoped.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This should have not been called "Russiagate"; it should have been called "Stupidgate", a reality that the Democratic creators of this piece of codswallop are only beginning to fathom.

State Department Issues Statement On US-Russia Relations

Shortly after Russia's deputy foreign minister Ryabkov snubbed the US, cancelling a meeting with the Under Secretary of State Thomas A. Shannon, Jr., in retaliation to the Trump administration's announcement on Tuesday that it has imposed sanctions on 38 Russian individuals while a parallel bill of Russian sanctions is making its way through Congress, the US State Department issued a statement on US-Russian relations.

We regret that Russia has decided to turn away from an opportunity to discuss bilateral obstacles which hinder US-Russian relations.

Finally, for any reporters who are still confused how Russia could possibly slam the door of diplomacy in the US' face after an American F-18 shot down a Syrian fighter jet flying over Syria, and proceeded with two separate sanctions, the State Department has some advice: "we would refer you to the Russian government to explain their decision to cancel this meeting. "

Webmaster's Commentary:

I love the smell of irony and hypocrisy in the morning!!

First, let's set the record straight for the zillionth time.

Russia did not annex Crimea: in 2014, the US sponsored putsch threw Ukraine's Yanukovych under the proverbial bus, in exchange for the ascendancy of the pro-western Poroshenko. Crimeans knew that there was no rule of law in Kiev after that, and held a referendum to ask their people if they wanted to stay with Ukraine, post-putsch, or petition the Russian Federation; they overwhelmingly voted to join the Russian federation, and their petition for membership was accepted. And for doing absolutely nothing wrong, Russia has been punished ever since.

Apparently, in light of the fact that the US is a signatory to the UN Charter, the writers of this piece of codswallop have conveniently forgotten that little bit in there about "peaceful self-determination", which is precisely what Crimea did.

And with regard to Syria; US troops are on the ground and in the air are here illegally, and have invaded a sovereign country, with the aim at regime change in Damascus. Russia was invited by the Syrian government to get rid of the jihadis, which the US military is sponsoring. The Russian and Syrian governments have every right to call them the invaders they are.

Rabbi Calls for Poisoning of Palestinian Water Supply

The foreign ministry of the Palestinian Authority (PA), Sunday, demanded the arrest of a Jewish Rabbi, who called on Israeli settlers to poison water used by Palestinians in hundreds of towns and villages across the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian national office for the defense of land and resistance of settlements warned of the dangers and consequences of such calls.

In its weekly report, it explained that Rabbi Shlomo Mlmad, the chairman of the so-called Council of Rabbis in West Bank settlements, called on settlers to poison Palestinians through their water supply, which came to light by the Israeli organization ‘Breaking the Silence’.

Group member Yehuda Shaul said, according to WAFA, that the aim behind poisoning water in the West Bank is to push Palestinians out of their towns and cities in order to allow settlers to take over Palestinian lands.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, but has this rabbi and his followers gone completely, foaming at the mouth mad, to conjure up such a plan?!?

Trump Takes Another Step Towards War with North Korea

In another menacing act of brinkmanship, President Donald Trump declared in a tweet yesterday that China had failed to force North Korea to accede to US demands, opening the door for unilateral US action, including military strikes. The tweet comes just ahead of top-level talks between US and Chinese officials due to take place in Washington today.
“While I greatly appreciate the efforts of President Xi [Jinping] & China to help with North Korea, it has not worked out. At least I know China tried!” Trump tweeted.
The Trump administration has put great pressure on Beijing to compel Pyongyang to abandon its nuclear and missile programs, but has indicated all along that time was limited.
“North Korea is looking for trouble. If China decides to help, that would be great. If not, we will solve the problem without them! USA,” Trump tweeted in April.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would love to be a butterfly on the wall at this meeting, and see how evenhandedly both sides are dealing with a potentially nuclear-armed North Korea.

As someone who lives on a first-strike target here in Hawaii, I hope that dialogue leads to constructive plans for a resolution of the issue.

IF not, we may well be looking at war with China over North Korea, because it cannot appear to its allies, including the BRIC nations, that China has "lost face" in backing down from supporting North Korea.

And that would be officially lousy for just about everybody.

US Aggression in Syria: Testing Russia’s Resolve

On Tuesday, for the fifth time in recent weeks, US warplanes attacked Syrian military targets, flagrant acts of aggression.

They’re part of Washington’s diabolical regime change plan – at the same time, testing Russia’s resolve in the wake of its announced halt in cooperating with America in Syrian airspace, following the downing of one of its Su-22 planes.

The latest incident involved a US F-15 warplane, downing a Syrian drone near its border with Iraq and Jordan.

A US-led coalition statement lied, claiming the UAV “displaced hostile intent and advanced on coalition forces.” Calling naked aggression self-defense is the last refuge of a rogue state. America and Israel are Exhibits A and B.
On June 8, a US warplane downed another Syrian UAV in the same southern part of the country.

Washington claiming it doesn’t seek to fight Syria and allied forces is a bald-faced lie. Actions in the air and on the ground speak for themselves.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These illegal, hostile acts by the Unhinged, Surveilled State of America will have consequences; it is not as though those in the bowels of power in DC don't know this.

This massive push against Syria is calculated to create a pushback, militarily, from Iran, to give the US government the "justification" to attack it.

But what doesn't seem to factor into the calculus here, is that should such an attack happen, Russia will immediately come to Iran's aid, militarily.

And were I a betting woman, I would definitely not bet against this, and neither should the American Deep State.

Israel’s Dirty Little Secret

At a recent panel discussion in Washington, screenwriter, film director and producer Oliver Stone briefly addressed the issue of alleged Russian interference in the recent national election, observing that “Israel interfered in the U.S. election far more than Russia and nobody is investigating them.” A few days later, in an interview with Stephen Colbert on the Late Show, Stone returned to the theme, responding to an aggressive claim that Russia had interfered in the election by challenging Colbert with “Israel had far more involvement in the U.S. election than Russia. Why don’t you ask me about that?”

Syria troops position themselves at heart of war on IS

Syrian government troops and their allies have steadily positioned themselves in key areas on the flanks of the U.S.-led coalition battle for the Islamic State’s self-declared capital of Raqqa.

They are attempting to become an indispensable player in uprooting the extremists from Syria entirely.

That presents a major challenge for the coalition, which so far has shunned any cooperation with President Bashar Assad and has partnered instead with local Kurdish-led forces.

As the U.S. has intensified its fight against IS in Syria, Assad and his trusted allies of Russia and Iran are increasingly asserting themselves. A Syrian military offensive has unfolded on several fronts, coupled with Russian airstrikes and a show of force by Iran, which fired ballistic missiles on an IS stronghold this week and pushed militias that it sponsors deeper into the battlefield.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Getting into a situation like this, with no real, appreciable strategy whatsoever, to speak of, is a sure and certain course toward a disaster which can lead to outright regional, and ultimately, a world war.

Reporters face 70 years in prison over anti-Trump march

Even when heavily armed riot police closed off a square block and surrounded protesters, media workers and legal observers alike, independent journalist Alexei Wood did not realise he was about to be arrested.

"It didn't even cross my mind that was what was happening," the 37-year-old photographer and videographer told Al Jazeera. "I was waiting for an order of dispersal and the mass of people showed no sign of resistance when the police completely surrounded them."

Most of the 230 people arrested were the following day charged with felony rioting - charges that carry a statutory maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine of $25,000. Among them were Wood and other journalists.

A handful of arrested journalists, including Alex Rubinstein of RT and Evan Engle of Vocativ, subsequently had the charges against them dropped.

Facing decades behind bars

Webmaster's Commentary:

The live streaming of Wood's video should exonerate him completely; it does not appear, from how I am reading this, that he actually participated in any destruction of property, or incited to riot.

If it does not, we are headed toward a massive chill against our guaranteed First Amendment Freedoms which is horrifically troubling.

Secret Government Report: Chelsea Manning Leaks Caused No Real Harm

Prosecutors said WikiLeaks' disclosures about Iraq and Afghanistan posed a major threat to US national security. But it turns out the classified document they cited — newly obtained by BuzzFeed News — said almost the exact opposite.

In the seven years since WikiLeaks published the largest leak of classified documents in history, the federal government has said they caused enormous damage to national security.

But a secret, 107-page report, prepared by a Department of Defense task force and newly obtained by BuzzFeed News, tells a starkly different story: It says the disclosures were largely insignificant and did not cause any real harm to US interests.

Regarding the hundreds of thousands of Iraq-related military documents and State Department cables provided by the Army private Chelsea Manning, the report assessed “with high confidence that disclosure of the Iraq data set will have no direct personal impact on current and former U.S. leadership in Iraq.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

So the US government crucified this person in the court of public opinion, and jailed them...for crimes they did not commit against this country...just because they could?!?

Our Rush to War in Syria: It’s a disaster in the making

The downing of a Syrian fighter jet by the United States – and, more recently, of an Iranian drone – augurs a confrontation that could take us down the road to World War III. The US media is echoing the Pentagon’s explanation, which is that the Syrian jet bombed (or was threatening to bomb) units of the US-supported Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) around the town of Tanf. The Syrians say they were attacking forces aligned with ISIS, which both the US and the Syrian government are supposedly fighting.

Stuck in the midst of this four-sided civil war is the United States, with no real policy, and with its military strategy ceded to commanders on the ground – who are pursuing the same course set by the previous administration, i.e. canoodling with radical Islamists bent on regime change in Damascus. In alliance with the Saudis, the British, the Israelis, and the Jordanians, Washington is seemingly still determined to oust Assad and establish a Sunni regime in Damascus.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am disgusted and distraught over President Trump's foreign policy; all the "non-intervention" pledges we heard from Candidate Trump seems to have completely disappeared, with President Trump.

White House Wants to Widen Syria War, Despite Pentagon Objections

Over the past several weeks, US military actions within Syria have been less and less ISIS-centric, with a handful of operations targeting Shi’ite militias in southern Syria, and even shooting down a Syrian government aircraft over the weekend.

This isn’t just the US idly getting into one-off fights in the course of a war they’re already fighting in Syria, but rather is reflective of a push by White House officials, with multiple National Security Council members looking at the Syrian War less as a fight against ISIS and more as a chance to pick a fight with Iran.

The Pentagon has made clear they object, with Defense Secretary James Mattis personally rejecting multiple proposals related to this. Still, attacks on Shi’ite militias whenever they got sort of close to a US-backed rebel base, and a public narrative presenting the militias as necessarily in league with Iran, have found the US heading down that path anyhow.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem is, such a war cannot not be confined to Syria, in spite of whatever delusionally wishful thinking may be taking place in the bowels of power in DC.

We are looking at World War III, with Russia, China, and Iran on one side, and the US, NATO, Australia, and Saudi Arabia on the other.

Trump Imposes New Sanctions on Russia Over Ukraine Incursion

The Trump administration ratcheted up pressure on Russia on Tuesday, unveiling sanctions on more than three dozen additional individuals and organizations that have participated in the country’s incursion in Ukraine.

The Treasury Department made the announcement on the same day that President Trump hosted his Ukrainian counterpart, Petro O. Poroshenko, at the White House to discuss a peaceful resolution to the conflict with Russia. The sanctions also came as Mr. Trump continues to face questions about whether his campaign colluded with Russia to help him defeat Hillary Clinton.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Alan Rappeport and Neil MacFarquhar, a word, please.

You two are either the most intellectually incompetent, or completely disingenuous alleged "reporters" on the face of this planet, and an absolute and utter disgrace to those of us who report real news, as opposed to fake news. Some 95.5% of voters in Crimea have supported joining Russia, officials say.

Russia never annexed Crimea; Crimea, post-putsch, requested to become a member of the Russian Federation.

FACT: This exercise in peaceful self-determination was adjudged as "illegal" by the US and Ukraine, and the US and Ukraine have been punishing Russia for something it did not do ever since.

Gentlemen, if you EVER had a shred of credibility, it has absolutely gone down in flames, with this story; and you have done it to yourselves, in not presenting what really happened here in a truthful manner.

IRAN’S MISSILE STRIKE ADDS TO SYRIAN CRISIS

On June 19, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard announced that it had fired several missiles at ISIS positions in the Deir Az Zor province in Syria. The reason given for this unprecedented military strike was retaliation for double terrorist attacks which struck Tehran two weeks ago. Readers should not underestimate the significance of this event.

ccording to a statement issued by the news agency for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, Sepahnews, “Multiple medium-range missiles were fired from the Iranian provinces of Kermanshah and Kurdestan, and a large number of terrorists were killed and their weapons were destroyed.”

Regarding the alleged ISIS attack, which killed 13 people and wounded 50 others, the Revolutionary Guard added, “The spilling of any pure blood will not go unanswered.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears that US escalation against both Syria and Iran continues apace.

In looking at these events from an island in the Pacific which is a first-strike target in a major war, Mike and I are having frequent conversations about that archetypal dream, where one is watching two trains, in slow motion, then picking up speed, ultimately crashing into each other on the same track, but unable to stop it.

It looks to me as though we are on the keening edge of World War III.

The only thing we can do, right now, is encourage people around us to take the best possible precautions they can; stockpile needed supplies; be kind and loving to the people around them; and create community, as best they can.

AFTER SHOCKING SAUDI SHAKEUP "NOT A QUESTION OF IF BUT WHEN NEW ESCALATION WITH IRAN STARTS"

Two days ago, when reporting on the surprising "terrorist attempt" by Iran's National Guard on a major Saudi offshore oilfiled (at least according to Saudi media), we said that "if the Saudi account of events is accurate, and if Iran is indeed preparing to take out Saudi oil infrastructure in retaliation or otherwise, the simmering cold war between Saudi Arabia and Iran is about to get very hot." This in turn followed an earlier analysis on the ongoing Syrian war in which we said that "the next major regional conflict appears set to be between Saudi Arabia and Iran. All it needs is a catalyst."

That catalyst, according to energy consultancy Petromatrix, may have been revealed overnight with the stunning Saudi royal shakeup in which the King announced he was stripping the current Crown Prince, his nephew Mohamed bin Nayef (MBF), of all titles and obligations, and replacing him with his son Mohamed bin Salman (MBS).

Webmaster's Commentary:

In his recent trip to the Middle East, President Trump has "thrown his hat", coupled with American military power, behind Saudi Arabia against Iran, and this, unfortunately, will ultimately prove to be a very grave error in judgement on the part of this President and his administration.

Tel Aviv has been cheerleading forever for "regime change" in Tehran, but only at the cost of American blood and American money.

Russian political and military figures have been consistent in saying that if Iran is attacked, it will come to its aid militarily.

So in a war against Iran, you have Iran and Russia (and potentially China) on one side, and the US and Saudi Arabia on the other.

And right now, the US military doesn't have the weaponry; the money; the troop strength; or the manufacturing to insure a successful outcome to a war against Russia.

RUSSIA ANNOUNCES NO-FLY ZONE IN SYRIA — WAR AGAINST U.S. IN MID-EAST

IN INTERNATIONAL LAW, AND AS RECOGNIZED BY THE U.N., SYRIA HAS BEEN INVADED BY THE UNITED STATES, WAS NEVER INVITED INTO THE COUNTRY BUT IS INSTEAD THERE AS AN INVADER. RUSSIA WAS INVITED IN; IRAN WAS INVITED IN; BUT THE U.S. ARE ONLY INVADERS. AND, NOW, RUSSIA AND SYRIA WILL START TREATING THE U.S. AS SUCH.

If the U.S. fails to apologize and to find some way to save face, but instead persists in its invasion, even after this warning, then either the U.S. or Russia will win that traditional war in Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Just because something is the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing for the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America to do, is, unfortunately, no guarantee that it will not do it.

Mike and I are sitting on an island which has massive command and control military communications centers, projecting eastward; you will forgive me if I say that "color us extremely nervous" is about where we are, regarding the ramp up of tensions in Syria with Russia.

READ: Independent group releases new report on Seth Rich murder investigation

DNC worker Seth Rich was murdered in the Bloomingdale neighborhood of D.C. 11 months ago and his killer is still on the loose.

Now, a group of George Washington University graduate students calling themselves the Profiling Project are releasing a report on their own investigation into Rich's murder.

D.C. Police tell the 7 ON YOUR SIDE I-Team that Seth Rich's murder is still being investigated as a botched robbery.

The Profiling Project doesn't buy it. A report just issued by the Profiling Project says the murder was more likely committed by a hired killer.
Kevin Doherty, the Chief Investigator of Profiling Project says, "It's a possibility. A proficient killer is what we think, the fact that the killer has gotten away with it for this period of time and that it appears to be a very sanitized crime scene certainly shows some level of proficiency in killing."

Webmaster's Commentary:

This was a professional hit, after elements in the corrupt DNC realised that Rich had been the leaker to Wikileaks, as confirmed recently by Kim Dotcom.

The Clintonistas most probably have people like this on speed dial.

US Gov’t Proves Loyalty To ISIS As Bill To ‘Stop Arming Terrorists’ Gets Only 13 Supporters

ONE OF THE MOST RATIONAL BILLS EVER PROPOSED, BARRING THE FEDS FROM GIVING MONEY AND WEAPONS TO CHILD MURDERING TERRORISTS, HAS ALMOST ZERO SUPPORT.

For the last several decades, the US government has openly funded, supported, and armed various terrorist networks throughout the world to forward an agenda of destabilization and proxy war. It is not a secret, nor a conspiracy theory, America arms bad guys.

Given the insidious history of the American empire and its creation and fostering of terrorist regimes across the globe, it should come as no surprise that the overwhelming majority of politicians would refuse to sign on to a law that requires them to ‘Stop Arming Terrorists.’ And, that is exactly what’s happened.

The horrible irony is that it has been the U.S. government, not the Taliban or ISIS, that has destroyed the freedom of the American people through the adoption of powers that ordinarily characterize totalitarian regimes: secret mass surveillance and the powers to incarcerate, torture, and assassinate American citizens as part of their process of keeping us “safe” from the enemies that U.S. interventionism produces. -- Of course, there is also the out-of-control spending and debt necessary to sustain this ongoing, perpetual killing program, both of which constitute a grave threat to America’s economic well-being.

Another Step Toward Devastating War — Paul Craig Roberts

Washington’s pretense that Washington is fighting ISIS, rather than supporting it, is the excuse for Washington’s illegal presence in the Syrian conflict. Russia and Iran are in Syria legally, invited there by an elected government. The Americans are there uninvited as war criminals. Under international law established by the Americans themselves, it is a war crime to initiate aggression against a country that has not raised a fist against you. -- So, to be in Syria, Washington has to pretend to be “fighting terrorism” rather than supporting it. The lie has been given to this claim many times, but now that an American pilot has proven that the US is in Syria to support its agent, ISIS, not even a Megyn Kelly presstitute can honestly claim to believe that Washington is fighting ISIS.

US and Russia Teetering on the Brink of War: What You are Not Being Told

On June 18, 2017, prominent U.K. newspaper the Guardian asked an important question: Has Trump opened the door to conflict with Iran?

According to Foreign Policy, a pair of top White House officials are pushing to broaden the war in Syria against Iranian-backed troops who are currently posing a major threat to the American military's goals in the region.
FP explains:

Ezra Cohen-Watnick, the senior director for intelligence on the National Security Council, and Derek Harvey, the NSC's top Middle East advisor, want the United States to start going on the offensive in southern Syria, where, in recent weeks, the U.S. military has taken a handful of defensive actions against Iranian-backed forces fighting in support of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The Paris climate accord was designed to weaken the US economy and make Americans dependent on global government, like vassals of a distant empire. If multinational banks are to control America, they can’t let her remain economically independent. -- Additionally, a wrath of wildfires in California blamed on “global warming” was found to be arson.

New Maine Law Prohibits State Gun Registries

Last week, Maine Gov. Paul LePage signed a bill into law prohibiting any type of state firearms registry. The law will not only protect the privacy of Maine gun owners, it will also hinder the federal government’s ability to develop a firearms database and create a climate less favorable to federal gun control.

Crisis On The Horizon: Will It Be Economic Collapse? Global Civil Unrest? War? We Won’t Have To Guess Much Longer…

The endless and ever-increasing surveillance in the form of CCTV cameras, all of the cameras tied in to the tracking devices (deliberately labeled as “cellular telephones”), the monitoring, tracking, and recording of every purchase, deposit, withdraw, and shift with funds: The Big Brother state isn’t around the corner. The Big Brother state is here. What will it be? Global economic collapses that occur as a result of the credit deferred swaps and credit bubble suddenly bursting and the bottoms falling out? Will it be civil unrest globally? Or will it be the most likely event, a war that escalates and brings about the previous two actions. We won’t have to guess much longer, as the events are unfolding before us by the day and narrowing down the possibilities…making them probable, as well.

24% of Americans don’t have single dollar saved for emergency…

You can take this to the bank: Americans are messed up about money. Here are five new stats that prove Americans are backwards about money.

RAW SEWAGE SEEPS OUT OF GAZA AS ELECTRICITY SUPPLIES DWINDLE

The Israel Electric Company, which typically transfers about 120 megawatts of electricity daily to Gaza, confirmed that it would continue reducing the supply gradually over the next few days.

With minimal electricity available to treat Gaza’s wastewater, continued power cuts could cause irreparable damage not only to the Strip but also to Israel, as raw sewage runs rampant across maritime borders.

“We’re starting to play Russian roulette,” Gidon Bromberg, Israeli director of EcoPeace Middle East, told The Jerusalem Post on Tuesday.

Pursuant to a request from the Palestinian Authority, which is aiming to pressure Hamas to cede control over the isolated territory, Israel began decreasing the amount of electricity it supplies to Gaza on Monday by 8 MW. The Israel Electric Corporation, which typically transfers about 120 MW of electricity daily to Gaza, confirmed that it would continue reducing the supply gradually over the next few days.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is collective punishment against the Palestinian people; this is, of course, something at which the Israeli government excels.

But what about the communicable diseases this sewage may cause to develop, both for Palestinians and Israelis?!?

Someone in Tel Aviv has not thought this through completely.

judicial Watch: Susan Rice ‘Unmasking’ Documents Moved from NSC to Obama Library

The National Security Council cannot hand over records relating to former National Security Adviser Susan Rice’s surveillance of Americans, because they have been moved to the Obama presidential library and may be sealed for as many as five years, conservative watchdog Judicial Watch announced Monday.
The NSC informed Judicial Watch in a letter dated May 23 that materials related to Rice’s requests to know the identities of Americans swept up in surveillance of foreign targets, including any Trump campaign or transition officials, have been moved to the library.

The NSC’s Director of Access Management John Powers said in the letter:

Documents from the Obama administration have been transferred to the Barack Obama Presidential Library. You may send your request to the Obama Library. However, you should be aware that under the Presidential Records Act, Presidential records remain closed to the public for five years after an administration has left office.

Ready for Revenge: How Syria Will Respond to US for Attack on Its Jet

In an interview with Sputnik, Syrian MP Ammar al-Asad said that his country's army will not respond in kind to the US recently shooting down a Syrian military jet over Syrian territory, near the city of Tabqa.

US Navy F-18E Super Hornet

Additionally, the Syrian-Iraqi border will be strengthened and the logistics routes of terrorists from Deir ez-Zor to Jordan will be blocked, according to al-Asad.

He also said that the pilot of the Syrian fighter jet downed by a US aircraft is currency safe and sound.

"Using modern technology, the exact location of the plane crash was tracked to territory controlled by terrorists. The special units of the Syrian Army carried out a successful rescue operation and the pilot's health is out of harm's way now," al-Asad said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In a word, Syria's (and Russia's) military response to the American attack will be...asymmetric.

US SENDS SUPERSONIC BOMBERS IN SHOW OF FORCE AGAINST N.KOREA

The United States flew two supersonic bombers over the Korean Peninsula on Tuesday in a show of force against North Korea, South Korean officials said.

The U.S. often sends powerful warplanes in times of heightened animosities with North Korea, and flew B-1B bombers several times this year as the North conducted a series of banned ballistic missile tests.

Tuesday's flights by B-1Bs came shortly after the death of a U.S. college student who was recently released by North Korea in a coma following more than 17 months of captivity.

Seoul's Defense Ministry said the bombers engaged in routine exercises with South Korean fighter jets aimed at showing deterrence against North Korea.

The U.S. military said the bombers conducted two separate drills with the Japanese and South Korean air forces. It said the flights demonstrated solidarity among South Korea, Japan and the United States "to defend against provocative and destabilizing actions in the Pacific theater."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Belligerence here is not going to get the outcome the US and South Korean governments want; it is negotiation for a full, and fair, peace treaty with no financial penalties, coupled with North Korea's giving up its nuclear weapons program in response, which could possibly deescalate tensions here.

Of course, that... would be logical.

Mass Incarceration, Prison Labor in the United States

The Federal Prison Industries (FPI) under the brand UNICORE operates approximately 52 factories (prisons) across the United States. Prisoners manufacture or assemble a number of products for the US military, homeland security, and federal agencies according to the UNICORE/FPI website. They produce furniture, clothing and circuit boards in addition to providing computer aided design services and call center support for private companies.

UNICORE/FPI makes its pitch for employing call center support personnel to firms thinking about off-shoring their call center functions. The logic is that, hey!, they may be prisoners, but it’s keeping the jobs in the USA that matters. Fair enough. That approach cuts out the middleman though, those Americans desperate for any kind of work but, through no fault of their own, are not behind prison bars and employable by UNICORE/FPI.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The private, for profit prisons are great as money generators for their owners, but lousy on any real rehabilitation which will prevent prisoners from reoffending.

The huge recidivism rate, among American prisoners released, is a grim testament to that reality.

U.S.-backed SDF will retaliate if Syrian govt attacks again: spokesman

U.S.-backed Syrian militias accused the Syrian government on Monday of bombing their positions southwest of Raqqa city in recent days and threatened to retaliate if the attacks continue.

"The regime's forces have mounted large-scale attacks using planes, artillery, and tanks since June 17," Syrian Democratic Forces spokesman Talal Selo said in a statement.

Selo said the attacks targeted SDF areas near the town of Tabqa and the adjacent dam, Syria's largest, which the alliance of Kurdish and Arab militias captured from Islamic State militants in May.

There was no immediate comment from the Syrian army.

The Kurdish-led SDF began this month to push into Raqqa, Islamic State's base of operations in Syria. With air strikes and special forces from the U.S.-led coalition, they had been encircling the city since November.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is about to get very ugly, and very quickly.

EU extends Crimea sanctions, same seen for curbs on Russia

The European Union on Monday extended for another year its trade sanctions on the Black Sea peninsula of Crimea, annexed by Russia from Ukraine in 2014, and diplomats said they expected the bloc to do the same for its sanctions on Moscow soon.

Moscow's annexation of Crimea is not internationally recognized. Along with Moscow's subsequent backing of an armed separatist rebellion in Ukraine's industrial east, it has prompted the bloc to impose sanctions on the peninsula and on Moscow, in sync with the United States.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is painfully clear that 1. the EU is stuck on stupid, when it comes to the financial opportunities trading with Russia and Crimea would bring its members, and 2. the writer of this piece of codswallop either has not a clue about the recent history of either Ukraine or Crimea, or is deliberately lying, to make these sanctions appear "justified".

In 2014, the US government worked with the IMF, and various Soros-sponsored organisations, and overthrew the duly elected President of Ukraine, President Yanukovich, replacing him in a rigged election with the western-centric thug, Poroshenko. Even President Obama admitted to such collusion in 2015:

Washington Was Behind Ukraine Coup: Obama admits that US “Brokered a Deal” in Support of “Regime Change”

You also had Victoria Nuland bragging about how much money the US spent to destabilise Ukraine:

The United States spent $5 billion on Ukraine anti-government riots

When Poroshenko took over the reigns of government in Ukraine, Crimean officials understood that there was not going to be anything approximating the rule of law in Kiev, so they did two things:

1st,they held a free and fair referendum, asking Crimeans if they wanted to stay with Ukraine, or petition the Russian Federation to join it.

Crimeans vote to join Russian Federation with a 97% vote

Secondly, then petitioned the Russian Federation to accept it as a member, and the Russian Federation did just that.

Russia never annexed Crimea; Crimea petitioned the Russian Federation to become a member.

This was a priceless example of peaceful self-determination by the Crimean people, but is treated by Ukraine and the West as betrayal, which must be punished.

Don’t look for the exchange with Colbert on YouTube. CBS deleted it from its broadcast and website, demonstrating once again that the “I” word cannot be disparaged on national television.

America will regret helping Saudi Arabia bomb Yemen

“USA Kills Yemeni People”, screams graffiti plastered on walls in Yemen’s capital Sana’a. The Yemeni people who have been on the receiving end of US bombs dropped by Saudi pilots know all too well that the United States is complicit in their suffering.

The intense anti-US sentiment in Yemen should be a wake-up call for Americans: if you don’t care about the millions of suffering Yemenis, you might think about the future blowback.

Two US Senators, the Republican Rand Paul and the Democrat Chris Murphy, understand full well the implications and have been trying to halt the weapons sales. “The United States has no business supporting a war that has only served to embolden our terrorist enemies, exacerbate a humanitarian crisis, and incite fear and anger among the Yemeni people toward the United States. This will come back to haunt us,” warned Murphy.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US-militarily enabled Saudi war in Yemen is breaking my heart. And I must warn you that the images you will see below are very, very graphic, but speak the truth in a very powerful, and darkly real, manner.

Children are getting killed and maimed for life by Saudi bombing.

Images: Yemeni children killed and maimed for life, through Saudi bombings

Because of the US-military-enabled blockade of Yemeni ports, no food can get in and children are starving to death from malnutrition.

Images: Yemeni children dying from malnutrition

Because of the malnutrition, cholera has a firm foothold on the population of Yemen:

Images:
children dying from cholera

Oh, and did I mention that Saudi Arabia is using depleted uranium weapons in Yemen?!?

Images: Saudi troops using depleted uranium weapons in Yemen

These depleted uranium weapons are having precisely the same effect on children in the womb as they did in Fallujah, Iraq; Yemenis are seeing a massive spike in horrific birth defects, and still births.

To poison a child in the womb, from exposure to this, and other, chemical weapons, is one of the worst, and most cruel forms of child abuse I can think of.

And yet, the House of Saud, the Saudi Military, American civilian leadership, and the American military seem to be perfectly morally comfortable with all of these very predictable outcomes.

I am not, thank you very much, morally comfortable with any of these very predictable outcomes, and find myself very frustrated to be a citizen of a country whose leadership is just perfectly comfortable in colluding with
the Saudis in committing war crimes against Yemen.

But as a Christian pacifist activist, I understand that I must use my frustration constructively, and become a witness, to the best of my ability, to the truth of what is going on here in Yemen.

We need to have a national dialogue on why the US government is enabling Saudi Arabia's genocide, in this horrific war against one of the poorest people on the earth.

After the ISIS War, a US-Russia Collision?

Washington says the Syrian plane was bombing U.S.-backed rebels. Damascus says its plane was attacking ISIS.

Vladimir Putin’s defense ministry was direct and blunt:

"Repeated combat actions by U.S. aviation under the cover of counterterrorism against lawful armed forces of a country that is a member of the U.N. are a massive violation of international law and de facto a military aggression against the Syrian Arab Republic."

An ABC report appears to back up Moscow’s claims:

"Over the last four weeks, the U.S. has conducted three air strikes on pro-regime forces backed by Iran that have moved into a deconfliction zone around the town of Tanf in southwestern Syria, where there is a coalition training base for local forces fighting ISIS."

Russia has now declared an end to cooperation to prevent air clashes over Syria and asserted an intent to track and target aerial intruders in its area of operations west of the Euphrates.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Pat Buchanan is a little more optimistic than I am regarding the start of such a conflict. He is putting it after a successful outcome to getting the jihadists out of Raqqa; I honestly think that such a conflict will come far sooner than that, and that we are seeing the opening salvos of such a conflict happening now.

Israeli Settlement Construction Rates Soaring Across West Bank

The latest figures released by Israel’s Bureau of Statistics is showing a massive escalation in settlement construction across the occupied West Bank, with construction starting on 2,758 houses in the past 12 months, an increase of 70% over the previous 12 months.

Since these figures come from the Israeli government, they do not include construction in Occupied East Jerusalem, as under Israeli law that territory has all been annexed and is not considered “settlements” for the sake of internal record-keeping. All indications are that expansion is increasing in East Jerusalem as well.

Settlement watchdog Peace Now was quick to point out that despite this ever-growing investment in settlements in the West Bank, housing construction inside actual Israel (pre-1967 borders) actually dropped 2.5% in the same period of time, despite reports of a housing crisis.

US Repositioning Aircraft Over Syria Amid Growing Russia Tensions

In a move that appears to have been directly precipitated by Russia’s warning about US warplanes being treated as “targets” earlier in the day, Central Command (Centcom) has announced that they are repositioning US aircraft that are deployed inside Syria.

With the US increasingly shifting its aerial focus to attacking pro-government forces in Syria, instead of just ISIS, the risk is also growing substantially, as Russia’s comments today make it clear they don’t intend to let the US attack Syrian government targets with impunity.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I frankly think it is only a matter of time before there is a direct military confrontation between Russian and USSA (Unhinged, Surveilled State of America) troops.

I hope to heck I am dead wrong, but that is the path the US government and military seem to want to pursue right now.

America’s Role in Syrian War Is Widening

A growing number of US attacks targeting the Syrian government and militias aligned with the Syrian government are a sign that the US involvement in the Syrian Civil War is widening, and nothing was so indicative of this than yesterday’s US downing of a Syrian Su-22 bomber.

The sudden US military involvement in attacking Syrian government forces doesn’t make the US agenda any simpler, and rather leaves the Pentagon fighting against a growing array of rivals, with danger of a direct military conflict against Russia growing all the time.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I don't know what the Vegas odds are on a direct US/Russian confrontation over Syria, but I would be willing to imagine that they're pretty good right now, unfortunately.

QATAR ACCUSES UAE OF SUPPORTING 9/11 TERROR ATTACKS AS DIPLOMATIC CRISIS DEEPENS

The United Arab Emirates and Qatar are locked in a war of words as the diplomatic crisis between Qatar and its Sunni Arab neighbors enters its third week.
“Emiratis, not Qataris, were among the hijackers who flew planes into the Twin Towers,’’ Sheikh Meshal bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar’s ambassador to the U.S., declared in an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal Sunday. “The UAE was singled out in the 9/11 Commission’s report for its role in laundering money to terrorists.”

The UAE shot back warning Qatar on Monday that sanctions imposed by several of its neighbours could last for years unless Doha accepts demands which Arab powers plan to reveal in coming days.

This statement comes a day after Qatar announced it will not cut off gas to the UAE despite the diplomatic dispute and a "force majeure" clause in its contract, the chief executive of Qatar Petroleum told Al Jazeera network, three weeks after some Gulf Arab states severed ties with Doha.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF Saudi Arabia was even contemplating invading Qatar for the natural gas fields it shares with Iran, and regime changing its government, I would hope that the strong support it has been shown by both Turkey and Iran would cause its government to put that idea on indefinite hold for right now.

KRIEGER: PEOPLE ARE DEVOLVING INTO DEGENERACY AND VIOLENCE – DON'T JOIN THE CLUB

When times get tough people can unite and fight back against a common enemy, or they can be manipulated into fighting each other. Unfortunately, the latter has become increasingly popular amongst all sides in what has become an increasingly deranged, adolescent and counterproductive political environment.

Meanwhile, the people who are truly powerful, the oligarchs of industry and their bought and paid for political minions are the ones who really benefit. The primary purpose of this website from the very beginning has been to highlight how power actually functions in imperial America with the hope that people across the political spectrum could unite and push back against the unaccountable rent-seeking practices of a common enemy. It seems I was extraordinarily naive.

COLONIALISM IN TANZANIA, GMOS ENFORCED BY LAW, FARMERS FACE PRISON FOR TRADITIONAL SEEDS

As the Western establishment continues to try and crush Syria, Venezuela, Iran and the Philippines, the empire is setting its sights on a new target which is receiving itself less attention: Tanzania.

Although not in the form of bombs and sanctions (yet), the G 8 is moving to force Tanzania to accept GMOs and patented seeds under the guise of developmental assistance and aid to one of the world’s most impoverished nations. The G 8 is doing so through its NAFSN (New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition) which was created in 2012. Its publicly stated goal was to end poverty for 50 million people and it is funded by the EU, U.S., UK, World Bank, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. One of its many partners in Tanzania is of course, Monsanto.

‘WHY IS NOBODY REPORTING THE REAL DEATH TOLL?’ GRENFELL TOWER SURVIVORS ASK

A growing number of volunteers and residents who survived the Grenfell Tower fire in West London last week believe authorities and the media are deliberately downplaying the true scale of fatalities and key details of the deadly inferno.

On Monday, police confirmed 79 people are known to have died in the fire.

Of these, just five have been formally identified, while the other 74 are missing, presumed dead.

Authorities have always said the figure could rise much higher, as the tower block was able to house up to 600 people.

Early on in the wake of the tragedy, the media faced a backlash among public figures like rapper Akala and pop star Lily Allen over the low reported death toll, which for several days stood at just 17 despite the block being densely populated.

Allen, who is from the area, told Channel 4 News at the time: “I have never in my entire life seen an event like this where the death count has been downplayed by the mainstream media. 17?

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am betting that the real estimates of deaths are probably far closer to those stated by Ms. Allen.

US JETS SHOOT DOWN ‘IRANIAN DRONE’ IN SYRIA - COALITION

An Iranian-made drone was shot down by a US F-15 fighter jet in southern Syria, near At Tanf, the US-led coalition said. It is the fifth time in the past month the US has struck at forces allied with the Syrian government in the area.
An armed Shaheed-129 UAV “displayed hostile intent and advanced on Coalition forces” at 12:30 am local time on Tuesday, the coalition said in a statement. The drone was observed in the same area where another UAV was shot down on June 8.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, a word, please: this slouching toward a war with Iran and Russia over Syria is a really, really, bad idea.

Your foreign policy (if, in fact, you have truly crafted it, and it is not some Frankenstinian creation of the Deep State in this country) is writing checks our American military cannot cash.

And I say that with absolute respect for our military; but right at this point in its history, it doesn't have the money; the weaponry; the manufacturing; or the troop strength to insure a positive outcome against Russia and Iran in conventional warfare.

WE'RE IN A BOILING-POINT CRISIS OF EXPLOITIVE ELITES

There is another Rhythm of American History that few recognize: the economic, social and political crises sparked by exploitive Elites. There are two dynamics that drive these crises:

1. The exploitation of commoners by financial/political Elites reaches extremes that create systemic instability as commoners no longer have the means to improve their conditions.

2. The economic mode of production that generated Elite wealth no longer functions, but the Elites cling to the failing system and enforce it with increasingly violent suppression of dissent.

THE [JOHN] MCCAIN INSTITUTE FUNDED BY GEORGE SOROS AND SAUDI ARABIA, EXPOSED

Neocon Arizona Republican Senator John McCain may have his own little Clinton Foundation pay-to-play scheme operating in the halls of the US Senate.

The Daily Caller investigative group has learned that in 2012 McCain turned over nearly $9 million in unspent funds from his failed 2008 presidential campaign to a new foundation bearing his name, the McCain Institute for International Leadership.

The McCain Institute for International Leadership’s mission is to serve as a “legacy” for John McCain and “is dedicated to advancing human rights, dignity, democracy and freedom”, but many readers certainly are well aware that human rights and dignity are the furthest things from the neocon warmonger’s mind.

The institute is a tax-exempt non-profit foundation and has assets valued at $8.1 million, associated with Arizona State University.

UNITED STATES SIGNALS INTENTION TO OCCUPY EASTERN SYRIA AND DIVIDE THE NATION

The US version of the incident goes like this (courtesy of The Hill)…

A statement from the U.S. military said it shot down the Syrian SU-22 in self-defense and after contacting Russian counterparts through the established deconfliction zone. The Syrian aircraft was bombing U.S.-backed forces fighting the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) south of Tabqa. It was the first time the United States has shot down a Syrian plane, and the first time a U.S. military jet has shot down any manned aircraft since 1999.
The reality is much more complex, yet simpler. Syria was flying its jets over Syrian sovereign territory, moving to attack Al Qaeda jihadists (aka “moderate rebels”) operating illegally in Syrian territory, and backed up by US forces, which have set up operations illegally within Syrian sovereign territory.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is officially horrible.

There are those elements in the American Deep State which are salivating over the prospect of war with Russia and Iran; they are, unfortunately, completely, certifiably delusional, because at this point in our military's history, our military not have the weaponry; the money; the troop strength; or the manufacturing to ensure a positive outcome of a conventional war with Russia.

Yes, the US government spends a great deal for its weapons; but it winds up with the kinds of military nightmares like the F/A-18 Hornet, which may well be causing Sec Def Mattis some sleepless nights.

UK AND FRANCE PROPOSE AUTOMATED CENSORSHIP OF ONLINE CONTENT

By OpenRightsGroup: Theresa May and Emmanuel Macron’s plans to make Internet companies liable for ‘extremist’ content on their platforms are fraught with challenges. They entail automated censorship, risking the removal of unobjectionable content and harming everyone’s right to free expression.

The Government quietly announced Tuesday June 13th that Theresa May and the French President Emmanuel Macron will talk today about making tech companies legally liable if they “fail to remove unacceptable content”. The UK and France would work with tech companies “to develop tools to identify and remove harmful material automatically”.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What concerns me here is, in the worlds of Macron and May, when does truth become "objectionable", to the point of even becoming criminal?!?

I am a Christian pacifist activist, who never advocates violence as a way to resolve issues, and constantly exhorts her government to use hard-won moral negotiations as the best way of resolving geopolitical issues.

Probably neither May nor Macron like my reporting on the Saudi genocide in Yemen, enabled by the US military (and BTW, who, please, sold the Saudis the white phosphorus which they are using in Yemen?!?); would that be consigned to the bit bucket, courtesy of their algorithms?!?

Radicalism doesn't come from nothing. There are those in the West who would assure you that this is true, but it is not; it comes from living in a Western-sponsored corrupt dictatorship, or seeing your child, your auntie, your mom, your brother, your friends, being blown to smithereens, courtesy of a drone weapon, as the US, France, and the UK expropriate resources to which they have no moral right, then make sure those resources are only sold in "acceptable" currencies.

So to Prime Minister May, President Macron, and President Trump, a word, please. The US, the UK, and France have some of the finest universities, and scientific minds in the world. Together, you could create a consortium developing usable, workable alternative energy which could, collectively, be patented as a revenue stream, to be divided equally among your countries, and provide a very healthy stipend for each university which was part of this process.

Such a development would be an absolute game-changer, and lead to other significant scientific discoveries as well; or, your countries can continue to murder and regime change in order to control the fossil fuel and mineral or elemental resources (like lithium), as you have for decades.

ISRAEL SECRETLY PAYING SALARIES OF SYRIAN REBELS ON GOLAN HEIGHTS BORDER: REPORT

Israel is secretly supporting Syrian rebels operating near its occupied Golan Heights territory, providing money, food, fuel and medical supplies, according to fighters who claim to receive the aid.

Israel has previously treated wounded Syrian rebels in its hospitals but interviews with rebels conducted by the Wall Street Journal suggest that Israel is directly supporting opponents of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the six-year-long civil war.

Israel is opposed to the rule of Assad and his forces. It also sees militants belonging to Lebanese militia Hezbollah who support Assad’s regime forces as posing a threat to its security on the Golan Heights border.

Washington has been completely corrupt for well over a century. This is nothing new. Mark Twain wrote about it in the late 19th century. The difference is this: Washington invades every area of our lives today. It is doing what the public generally does not want it to do: interfere. The public wants to be left alone. The public does not want to concern itself with politics. But the breakdown of consensus is pushing politics onto the front pages of the few newspapers that still publish printed editions. We are watching what appear to be preteen boys arguing over marbles in the school yard. The stakes are so low, and the rhetoric is so high, that people who normally don’t pay much attention to politics cannot get away from it.

Snyder Warns: “A Full-Blown Eruption Of The Yellowstone Supervolcano Would Have The Potential Of Being An Extinction Level Event”

Is it possible that the Yellowstone supervolcano is gearing up for a major eruption? If you follow my work on a regular basis, then you already know that I spend a lot of time documenting how the crust of our planet is becoming increasingly unstable. Most of this shaking is taking place far away from the continental United States, and so most Americans are not too concerned about it. But we should be concerned about it, because a major seismic event could change all of our lives in a single instant. For instance, a full-blown eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano would have the potential of being an E.L.E. (extinction level event). That is why it is so alarming that there have been 296 earthquakes in the vicinity of the Yellowstone supervolcano within the last 7 days. Scientists are trying to convince us that everything is going to be okay, but there are others that are not so sure.

Syrian "Rebels" In Turmoil After Qatar Crisis

The ongoing Qatar crisis has had an unexpectedly adverse outcome among the Syrian "rebels", in many cases formerly known as al-Qaeda, who expect the crisis between two of their biggest state backers - Saudi Arabia and Qatar - to deepen divisions in the opposition to President Bashar al-Assad. Together with Turkey and the United States, Qatar and Saudi Arabia have been major sponsors of the insurgency, arming an array of groups that have been fighting to topple Syria's Iran-backed president. However, in recent weeks the Gulf support has been far from harmonious, fuelling splits that have set back the revolt.

Quoted by Reuters, Mustafa Sejari of the Liwa al Mutasem rebel group in northern Syria said "god forbid if this crisis is not contained I predict ... the situation in Syria will become tragic because the factions that are supported by (different) countries will be forced to take hostile positions towards each other."

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think the proverbial "other shoe" fell yesterday, when the US military downed a Syrian fighter jet. Now, Russia has declared US fighter jets as "fair game" in the war in Syria.

Israel Has Been Secretly Funding Syrian Rebels For Years

Earlier, when discussing why the Syrian "rebels" fighting Assad are in "turmoil", we said that as a result of the ongoing Qatar crisis the various Saudi and Qatari supply chains supporting the rebels, both in terms of weapons and funding, had dried up due to the diplomatic fallout involving Qatar and Saudi Arabia. "Together with Turkey and the United States, Qatar and Saudi Arabia have been major sponsors of the insurgency, arming an array of groups that have been fighting to topple Syria's Iran-backed president."

We concluded that "the rebellion against Assad now seems moot, which is why the most likely outcome is a continued phase-out of support for forces fighting the Syria government until eventually the situation reverts back to its pre-2011 "status quo."

Blockade or No Blockade? Saudi Arabia’s ‘Mission-Qatar’ Tumbles Down

Apart from Turkey, whose president Erdogan went to the extent of relating the Qatar-blockade to a “death sentence”, a number of other countries both from Asia and Africa have refused to follow the House of Saud in its footsteps, marking yet another defeat for the king-to-be prince Muhammad bin Salman, who is not only known to have masterminded the Yemen war but also known particularly for injecting a new ideological framework to Saudi Arabia’s regional ambitions, a framework premised upon surgical weakening of countries that have the potential to challenge Saudi hegemony. This is becoming evident from the way people in Turkey have started to point fingers to UAE for spending US$3 billion for funding coup attempt in Turkey, a possible scenario which certainly points to the increasing Saudi dissatisfaction with the way regional politics has tilted to its disadvantage.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looks as though Prince Muhammad bin Salman's bid to "isolate Qatar" is falling apart at the seams!!

Democracy Is a Front for Central Bank Rule

Inflation aside, in fact interest rates declined, as my sometime co-author Dave Kranzler reports. http://investmentresearchdynamics.com/has-the-fed-actually-raised-rate...
Despite this publicized “rise” of the Fed funds rate, the 10-year interest rate on Treasuries “has declined 30 basis points this year. Thus for certain borrowers, the Fed has effectively lowered the cost of borrowing.”

Kranzler goes on to point out that

“the spread between the 30-day Treasury Bill and the 10-yr Treasury has declined this year from 193 basis points to 125 basis points – a 68 basis point drop in the cost of funding for borrowers who have access to the highly engineered derivative products that enable these borrowers to take advantage of the shape of the yield curve in order to lower their cost of borrowing.”

“Transgenic Corruption” and GM Crops in Argentina

GM crops in Argentina are approved by people from the same companies that produce and market them, a new investigation by the journalist Dario Aranda reveals.

The agency in which these people are collected is called the National Advisory Committee on Agricultural Biotechnology (Conabia). According to Aranda, it is composed of representatives of Monsanto, Bayer, Syngenta, Indear/Bioceres, Pioneer/DuPont, Don Mario, ASA (Seed Companies’ Association), Aapresid (Association of No-Till Producers – farmers who grow GM crops and use herbicide applications to control weeds), Argenbio and INTA (National Institute of Agricultural Technology). Out of 34 members, 26 belong to the same companies that produce seeds or are scientists with conflicts of interest.

Belgium Extends Air Force Mission against Syria

Speaking during his visit to Canada, Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel confirmed that Belgium has extended the Belgian Air Force’ mandate for missions in Syria until the end of 2017.

Michel said the decision would be formally confirmed during the next session of the Council of Ministers in Brussels. The small European country has earmarked another 17 million euro for the operation.

The current mission mandate was coming to a close in June, but it will be extended for another six months. Under the new mandate, some 100 personnel and four fighter jets will be stationed in Jordan.

Michel said this would show that Belgium is

“a reliable partner in the fight against terrorism”. He added: “This is a strong signal towards our partners. Belgium is a reliable partner in an international coalition. We also want to show we are operational. After the NATO summit, this proves we are taking up our responsibility within Europe.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Belgium is fighting an illegal war to create regime change in Damascus; if one of their fighter jets takes down a Russian or Syrian fighter jet, you can bet that more sorties against Syrian or Russian troops will be met with defiance.

Mattis: North Korea Is a War We Don’t Want

peaking to Congress this week, Defense Secretary James Mattis was asked by Rep. Tim Ryan (D – OH) why the United States doesn’t just launch an immediate war to “take out” North Korea before they have the capability of hitting the United States.

While a lot of Trump Administration officials talk up the idea of a war with North Korea as something they’re eagerly anticipating, Mattis was a lot more realistic, insisting it is a “war that fundamentally we don’t want,” and that it would be the most serious US war with the most serious consequences since 1953.

Mattis went on to warn that a war with North Korea would involve massive shelling of Seoul, South Korea, oneof the most densely packed cities on earth, and that while he believes the US would ultimately win the war, they’d only do so “at great cost.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

We are close to the end of the "100 days" Chinese President Xi Jinping asked of President Trump, when the two got together at Mara Largo.

Xi asked Trump for ‘100 days’ to deal with North Korea problem

It could just be that President Xi doesn't have as much "clout" with its client state as President Trump believed, but there is nothing current North Korean State rhetoric which indicates that Kim Jung Un has any notion, or desire, to give up his nuclear weapons development program.

I have to wonder what further "diplomatic efforts" will move forward, before this program becomes a real problem for the US.

And as someone who lives in the state of Hawaii, you could reasonably say that Mike and I are a little nervous about this!!

Under the guise of combating money laundering, Senate Bill 1241, “Combating Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing, and Counterfeiting Act of 2017,” ramps up regulation of digital currency and other autocratic financial controls in an attempt to ensure none of your assets can escape one of the State’s most nefarious, despised powers: civil asset forfeiture.

Paris attack on police vehicle on Champs-Elysees

A man rammed his car into a police vehicle in Paris' Champs-Elysees shopping district Monday, prompting a fiery explosion, and was killed in the incident, authorities said. France's anti-terrorism prosecutor opened an investigation.

Interior Minister Gerard Collomb told reporters near the scene that the driver died after the "attempted attack" on security forces. He said the car was carrying explosives.

No police officers or passers-by were hurt, the Paris police department said. It is unclear why the attacker drove into police, though the Interior Ministry spokesman said the incident was apparently deliberate.

IF, in fact this claim is true, it is a definite escalation of bad blood between these two nations, and President Trump has made it very clear that in any such situation, he has put his hat in with the Saudis.

And when Saudi officials say that these people are being "questioned", they are most likely being tortured, to produce a "confession" most convenient to the Saudi claims against them.

Erdogan Slams US for Building Air Bases in Syrian Kurdistan: Slams US Soldiers Being 'Arm in Arm' With Terrorists

With the Kurdish YPG advancing into the ISIS capital of Raqqa, and US officials already designating Mayadin the “next ISIS capital,” there’s clearly a lot more US-backed invasions for the Kurds to take part in, and the US is looking to make the backing of those invasions more convenient, setting up airbases in Kurdish territory.

That’s not sitting well with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who expressed particular outrage at the US having an air base in the Kurdish town of Kobani, along the Turkish border and reiterating his long-standing opposition to the US having ties with the YPG at all.

“I find the US approach to the YPG in no way chic,” Erdogan insisted, saying that US soldiers and military officers are “hand in hand, arm in arm” with a group that Turkey considers a terrorist group. He conceded that he understands the US doesn’t consider the Kurds terrorists.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So let me get this straight: the Unhinged, Surveilled State of America is building illegal bases in Syria, totally without the permission of that country, in order for Kurds to be able to found a homeland, at the expense of sovereign Syrian territory?!?!?

Turkey Wants to Continue Accession Talks With European Union

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said that Ankara is willing to pursue the talks with the European Union on getting full membership in the bloc and renew the Customs Union agreement with Brussels.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Ankara is willing to pursue the talks with the European Union on getting full membership in the bloc and renew the Customs Union agreement with Brussels, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said.

"Turkey is willing to pursue full membership talks with the EU and renew the Customs Trade [deal]," Yildirim said at a joint press conference on Monday with his Bulgarian counterpart Boyko Borisov in Ankara as quoted by the Anadolu news agency.

The Turkish minister stressed that the European Union had to "revise its future vision" and then make relevant decisions on the talks with Ankara.

US-led coalition says hostile actions of Syrian pro-regime forces will not be tolerated

The US-led coalition conducting operations against the Islamic State terror group (outlawed in Russia - TASS) will not tolerate the hostile actions of pro-regime forces toward its own and partner forces in Syria, the coalition’s headquarters said in a statement provided to TASS.

The statement confirmed that on June 18, a US F/A-18 E aircraft had shot down a Syrian Su-22 bomber jet which, according to the coalition, had "dropped bombs near SDF (the Syrian Democratic Forces - TASS) fighters south of Tabqah." Before the incident, the coalition’s aircraft "conducted a show of force and stopped the initial pro-regime advance toward the SDF-controlled town."

"The Coalition presence in Syria addresses the imminent threat ISIS in Syria poses globally. The demonstrated hostile intent and actions of pro-regime forces toward Coalition and partner forces in Syria conducting legitimate counter-ISIS operations will not be tolerated," the statement adds.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Did anyone cobbling together this bit of codswallop, alleging to be a factual press release, not realise how "1984-Speak" it sounds to logical readers?!?

The United States military is illegally inside Syria, and not at the behest of the Syria government, in order to accomplish regime change in Damascus.

The "good reason" is ISIS, but the real reason is "regime change", and anyone with two brain cells to rub together, understands this.

NATO Holds Defense Drill Simulating Russian Invasion Of Baltics

NATO officials are growing increasingly nervous about the possibility of an invasion of the Baltic states ahead of Russian wargames planned this fall on the border of Belarus and Poland that could involve as many as 100,000 troops. That "anxiety" was on display this week, when US and British troops carried out the first NATO military exercise that involved a simulated defense of the Suwalki Gap, an area in northern Poland on the border with Lithuania that serves as the gateway to the Baltic region.

In other words, a drill against a Russian invasion of the Baltics states, and by extension, Europe.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The logical question is, why in the name of heaven would Vladimir Putin and Russia pull such a bone-headed stunt?!?

The short answer is, they wouldn't!

But I can hear the drumbeat of further demonisation of Russia, by the US and Europe, as a prelude to war against it.

Senate GOP shifts focus to Lynch

Senate Republicans are clamoring to hear from Loretta Lynch after former FBI Director James Comey raised concerns about her involvement in the Hillary Clinton email investigation.

Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee are seizing on Comey’s testimony earlier this month that he was concerned over the former attorney general telling the FBI to refer to the Clinton investigation as a "matter," which resembled the Clinton campaign line.

The move could allow Republicans to attempt to pivot away from the investigation into Russia's election meddling — which top GOP lawmakers have signaled belongs to the Intelligence Committee — and focus on Lynch, who has long been a target of Republicans.

Sen. John Cornyn (Texas), the No. 2 Senate Republican who is a member of both the Intelligence and Judiciary committees, said it “would be very helpful” for Lynch to testify before the Judiciary panel, which oversees the Justice Department.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Couldn't happen to a more deserving human being!

But if Congressional Republicans think, for one second, that they can get her to testify without a subpoena, they're dreaming.

And she might very well ignore a Congressional subpoena, and be looking for a long-term stay in a country with which the US has no extradition treaty.

In fact, were I her, that is precisely what I would be doing, and right the heck now!!

RADIOACTIVE WASTE FLOWING FREELY INTO COLUMBIA RIVER BECAUSE THERE’S NO MONEY TO STOP IT

A member of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently informed the public that radioactive waste from the decommissioned Hanford nuclear power plant is ‘flowing freely’ into the Columbia river.

The mighty Columbia river is the largest river in the Pacific Northwest region of America, flowing down from Canada, winding through eastern Washington state and along the border between Oregon, ultimately moving through downtown Portland and into the Pacific. The Hanford site, located near Kennewick, WA is up river from a million or so people, not to mention the wildlife.

Constructed in the 1940’s as part of the Manhattan Project, the plant was decommissioned after the Cold War, leaving behind some 53 million gallons of high level radioactive waste. Proposed as a Superfund site in 1988, Hanford is an uncontrollable ecological and public health disaster.

As noted in the list of national Superfund sites:

Webmaster's Commentary:

The poisoning of this nation goes on unabated, and no one in DC seems to give a damn!

REPORT: LEAST PEACEFUL NATIONS ON EARTH WERE ALL GIVEN ‘DEMOCRACY’ BY THE US

The United States has a pattern of pushing for regime change in sovereign nations, while ignoring the consequences. One major result from the list of countries the U.S. has invaded this century is that they make up the top of the “least peaceful” nations in the 2017 Global Peace Index.

The 2017 Global Peace Index is another reminder that the United States’ seemingly endless pattern of pushing for regime change in sovereign nations that have done nothing to the U.S. has indeed resulted in a significant amount of blowback—most of which will be misrepresented, if not ignored by the mainstream media.

GULF TENSIONS FLARE AS SAUDI ARABIA SHOOTS IRANIAN FISHING BOATS, KILLS FISHERMAN

An Iranian fisherman was shot and killed on Saturday by the Saudi coastguard, which accused him of entering Saudi waters, Iran's interior ministry said, fuelling tensions between the regional rivals.

"Two fishing boats were in the Persian Gulf and strayed due to high waves. The Saudi coastguard say the boats entered Saudi waters and killed one of the fishermen," Majid Aghababaie, head of border affairs at the interior ministry, said in a statement published by Iranian media.

"We are pursuing this matter to determine if the Iranian boats had crossed the Saudi border or not, but the action of the Saudis does not comply with humanitarian and navigational principles," Aghababaie said.

"Even if the boats had entered Saudi waters, the coastguard were not authorised to open fire," Aghababaie added.

Foreign ministry spokesman Bahram Ghastliness issued a similar statement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

While it is uncertain that the Saudi Coast Guard was given orders to shoot to kill, no matter what, this assassination of an Iranian fisherman is not going to improve relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran.

Two women feared dead in Grenfell Tower were 'threatened with legal action' after questioning fire safety

Two women feared dead in the Grenfell Tower tragedy were allegedly threatened with legal action after they campaigned for improved fire safety.

Mariem Elgwahry, 27, and Nadia Choucair, 33, reportedly received letters ordering them to stop their campaign for improved safety.

Both women were fighting the Kensington and Chelsea Tenant Management Organisation for building improvements, with help from the Radical Housing Network, The Mirror reports.

Pilgrim Tucker, who works for the group, told the paper: “The TMO’s response was to threaten tenants with legal action and send out letters. Nadia and Mariem would have received them too.

We have testimony from people who say they participated in the crime. They described some 50 trucks arriving in Allende, carrying people connected to the cartel. They broke into houses, they looted them and burned them. Afterward, they kidnapped the people who lived in those houses and took them to a ranch just outside of Allende.

FEARS OF A GRENFELL TOWER COVER-UP AS LABOUR MP WHO LOST ARTIST FRIEND URGES POLICE TO CARRY OUT RAIDS TO STOP FIRMS AND COUNCILS FROM DESTROYING EVIDENCE

Fears of a Grenfell Tower cover-up has led to calls for raids to take place on businesses and authorities at the centre of the investigation into the deadly inferno.

The Prime Minister and the Metropolitan Police have been urged to seize any potentially-incriminating evidence before it can be destroyed.
Council chiefs and building firms could face manslaughter charges over the disaster, in which at least 58 have been killed, a former Director of Public Prosecutions has said.

And Labour MP David Lammy demanded urgent action, claiming contractors were expunging details of their work on the tower from their websites.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That the pattern of decision making which lead to this inferno could possibly be covered up in such a way as to prevent getting to the bottom of what really happened here, is an horrific insult to those who died as a result of this blaze, and their families.

Theresa May condemns 'sickening' attack on Finsbury Park Muslims

A man died and 10 people were injured after a van was rammed into a crowd of worshippers near a mosque in north London, in the latest terror attack to hit the UK this year.

Eyewitnesses reported chaotic scenes as the incident unfolded just after midnight, when evening Ramadan prayers had finished.
A 48-year-old white man was wrestled to the ground by members of the public and then arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder, authorities said.
British Prime Minister Theresa May said the attack was directed at Muslims and condemned it as "every bit as sickening" as deadly Islamist attacks that hit the country in recent months.
Latest developments:

-- Police say they believe there was only one man in the van.
-- An imam stopped the crowd from hitting and kicking the attacker.
-- Witnesses saw a man underneath the van.
-- Eight people were hospitalized, all Muslim.
-- Van appears to be a hire vehicle from a company in Wales.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is as sick and senseless as are the wars for resource domination which drive them.

My first cousin is an exceptionally bright person, a professor emeritus of Constitutional Law at a prestigious university.

We frequently talk about countries like the US and UK investing in their universities to create usable, workable alternative energy, then patenting it, as a a revenue stream.

I cannot fathom that the "deep state" in both countries does not recognise how critical this is to preventing further wars for resources, and will not move forward with this, with all the blood and money spent on battlefields - and beyond - as in this case of terror - which, ultimately, would not have to happen.

Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry says tensions rise in Nagorno-KarabakhMore:http://tass.com/world/951981

Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry reported on rising tensions in Nagorno-Karabakh on Saturday.

Azerbaijan president calls for soonest resumption of Karabakh talks
"The adversary is continuing to shell from high-caliber weapons and artillery guns the positions of Azerbaijan’s Armed Forces and settlements located in the immediate battle area," the defense ministry said in the statement.
"On June 15, in an attempt to bring up short another provocation of Armenian armed units Azerbaijan’s army suffered casualties," the ministry said, noting that in retaliatory fire "on June 15 and 16, six soldiers of Armenian Armed Forces were eliminated," some were wounded.

On Friday, Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry reported its soldier’s death

IN RHODE ISLAND, STUDENTS AND PARENTS MUST LET SCHOOLS SPY ON THEM DAY AND NIGHT THROUGH THEIR LAPTOPS

A majority of the Rhode Island school districts with "1-1" programs where each student is issued a laptop have a blanket policy of spying on the students and everything they do on their laptops, during, before and after school hours, on or off school premises, without any evidence (or even suspicion ) of wrongdoing.

The schools analogize this to school locker searches, in which students are denied any Fourth Amendment protections. But that (very dubious) principle is being stretched beyond the breaking point, as school lockers are in schools, whereas these laptop searches are being carried out remotely, everywhere, anywhere.

This isn't so different from the policies asserted by employers who require workers to take devices home, then assert the right to spy on them using those devices, installing their own certificates so they can stage "man-in-the-middle" interceptions of private sessions between employees and their email providers, financial institutions, etc.

Webmaster's Commentary:

How "1984" of Rhode Island!!

Were I a parent with a kid in school where these devices are mandatory, I would immediately pull that kid out of that school, and put them in a private school where such policy does not exist.

Failing that, because of the cost, I would "vote with my feet", and move to another state where this policy is not pursued.

How is London’s Grenfell Tower Still Standing?

Yesterday’s news about the Grenfell Tower in London going up in flames has me a bit confused.

On September 11th, 2001 the Twin Towers in New York City both sustained a great amount of fire damage and each building collapsed at near free fall speed. They disintegrated into dust!

It is interesting how this did not happen with Grenfell Tower in London despite the entire structure being engulfed in flames.

I guess the laws of physics were just suspended yesterday, because any time a building catches fire it should collapse at free fall speed. The Twin Towers proved this!

Grim Echoes for Families: An Officer Shoots and a Jury Acquits

Since 2005, when Mr. Stinson began his tally, just 29 nonfederal law enforcement officers have been convicted in on-duty shootings. Fourteen pleaded guilty, and 15 were convicted by juries. In that time, more officers — 33 — have been arrested or charged with murder or manslaughter but not convicted. In many of these cases, questions of guilt do not hinge on who fired the fatal shot, but on what officers were thinking when they pulled the trigger. “As soon as the officer gets on the stand and subjectively says, ‘I was fearing for my life,’ many juries are not going to convict at that point,” Mr. Stinson said. “We’ve seen it over and over again.”

The War on Yemen and the Senate Vote on the Saudi Arms Sale

The good news from Tuesday’s vote is that there is now much broader opposition to selling weapons to the Saudis when there is every reason to expect that those weapons will be used in Yemen. Sens. Murphy, Paul, and Franken have done great work in persuading many more of their colleagues to oppose such sales, and if they can continue to bring more senators over to their side the Senate may well block one of these sales before long. A close vote on this issue makes it much more likely that there can be a real debate over U.S. support for the atrocious and unnecessary Saudi-led war.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There is no good news for the people of Yemen, and the Unhinged Surveilled States of America's "deep state"is still supporting Saudi Arabia's attempt to push back against the Houthi rebels, and forcefully reinstall the US government's puppet, Mansour Al-Hadi, by whatever means necessary.

This has translated into the following for the Yemeni people.

1. Yemeni children are getting killed and maimed for life.

Images: Yemeni children getting killed and maimed for life by Saudi air strikes

2. Because Saudis, with US military assistance, are blocking Yemeni ports, so no food can get in, Yemeni children are starving to death from malnutrition.

Horrifying images of starving children reveal the ongoing toll of Yemen's forgotten war.

3. Because of this malnutrition, Yemeni children are dying of cholera, and other preventable diseases.

Oh, and did I mention that Saudi Arabia is using depleted uranium weapons in Yemen?!?

Images: Saudi Arabia using chemical weapons in Yemen

These depleted uranium weapons are having the same effect that the use of these weapons did on pregnant women, and their children (and on US service members and their families) did in Falluja, Iraq, which meant massive stillbirths, cancers, and horrific physical mutations:

Image: massively deformed baby whose mother was poisoned through exposure to depleted uranium weapons.

When the intended consequences of a military campaign is the deliberate slaughter of children, through direct shelling; creating malnutrition and disease; and chemically poisoning them in the womb, as is happening through the joint US/Saudi war crimes in Yemen, you destroy the future of that country; ask the Palestinians, they are pretty familiar with that.

2016 'deadliest year' for West Bank children in decade

I am frankly appalled at just how morally comfortable the Royal House of Saud, the US Government, and the Saudi Government, collectively, appear to be with this genocide.

I, however, am very morally uncomfortable, being a citizen of a country which is actively, and aggressively, colluding in war crimes, and particularly war crimes of this magnitude.

KIDS HORRIFIED AFTER COPS HOLD MOCK CHILD SEX TRAFFICKING DRILL, WITHOUT SAYING IT’S A DRILL

The Florida Highway Patrol is reviewing its presence at the Girls State Program after troopers conducted a kidnapping/human trafficking drill which went “horribly wrong” according to WFTV News Channel 9.

The girl’s program is attended by some of best and brightest high-schoolers Florida has to offer. “Everyone who’s going is at the top of their class,” Cameron Carlyle said describing the high-quality candidates who attend the elite leadership camp. But no amount of education could have prepared the girls for what happened on the last night of their training.

The Girls State director along with six Florida State Troopers, all female, pulled an attendee aside and told her she would be participating in a kidnapping drill, one which highlighted the real-world problem of sex trafficking. Under the cover of secrecy, the volunteer named “Katrina” was taken to a safe place. Thereafter, roll call was taken with the remaining girls.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Were I a parent of one of these young women, I would have pulled my daughter out of that program, and their school, so quickly that it would make heads spin.

Sexual trafficking is a serious problem.

That being said, what the State Troopers should have done was to educate these young women about how they can avoid getting into situations where something like this could happen, and how to fight back, if they are abducted.

SPECIAL PROSECUTOR MUELLER IS A POLITICAL HACK

The New York Times characterizes special prosecutor Robert Mueller as being independent and fair:

Robert S. Mueller III managed in a dozen years as F.B.I. director to stay above the partisan fray, carefully cultivating a rare reputation for independence and fairness.
Let’s fact-check the Times …

ANTHRAX FRAME-UP

Mueller presided over the incredibly flawed anthrax investigation.

The U.S. Government Accountability Office says the FBI’s investigation was “flawed and inaccurate”. The investigation was so bogus that a senator called for an “independent review and assessment of how the FBI handled its investigation in the anthrax case.”

The head of the FBI’s anthrax investigation says the whole thing was a sham. He says that the FBI higher-ups “greatly obstructed and impeded the investigation”, that there were “politically motivated communication embargos from FBI Headquarters”.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: Mueller has been hired to attempt a political assassination against President Trump.

With his vile track record so publicly revealed, however, this may not be as easy as Democrats may hope.

SWAMP CRITTERS GALORE: DEATH MERCHANT GUY TO HEAD UP TRUMP’S BUREAU OF INDUSTRY AND SECURITY

And creatures from the corporatist black lagoon just keep on coming.

In May, the Donald nominated Richard Ashooh to head up the Bureau of Industry and Security at the Commerce for Export Administration.

Here’s a little background on Ashooh:

In 1995, Ashooh joined New Hampshire defense contractor Sanders, which manufactured electronics for the military, working his way up to be vice president of government relations—a lobbyist. Sanders was purchased by Lockheed, which later spun it off to BAE Systems, with Ashooh remaining with the company. In 2001, he was director of public affairs in BAE Systems North America’s Information and Electronic Warfare Systems division. In January 2003, he moved from New Hampshire to Maryland as BAE’s vice president of legislative affairs to take advantage of his lobbying experience. Back in New Hampshire, he was the company’s vice president of strategic relations and homeland security.

Remember Trump’s lobbying ban?

Webmaster's Commentary:

These nominations are profoundly disappointing.

WHY MAINSTREAM MEDIA REPRESENTS THE VIEW OF BILLIONAIRES … INSTEAD OF AVERAGE AMERICANS

We noted yesterday that the Washington Post is owned by one of the world’s richest guys, worth $72.8 billion … and who may soon become THE world’s richest.

And you probably won’t hear it from the New York Times, but the largest shareholder of the Times is the sixth wealthiest guy … worth $54.5 billion. He used to be THE richest person, but he’s slipped a little in the rankings.

It’s not just the Post and the Times …

Noam Chomsky points out that big status quo-loving corporations own the media, cater to other big status quo-loving advertisers, and filter out stories which question the status quo. Extreme media consolidation has made the problem worse than ever before. And see this.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is why the independent media is more critically important than ever; we tend to examine those issues which are 100% Kryptonite to the presstitutes of the corporate media, and their financial vested interests.

QATAR-SAUDI CATFIGHT UNVEILS WESTERN TERRORIST PROPAGANDA

The Saudi paper Al-Arabiya identifies Kareem as Qatar supported Al-Qaeda member. Smearing Qatar is now the favorite Saudi past time. That Kareem is al-Qaeda member is not news to anyone who reads beyond CNN and other main stream outlets. Just watch his interview (vid) with the al-Qaeda in Syria chief ideologue Muhaysini and you know what he is about.

Richard Barrett and especially Charles Lister were his discussion partners. Both are long known to be (well paid) propagandists for the Jihadis. Brooking Institute with its Qatar paid Doha outlet wrote the U.S. strategy for overthrowing (with the help of Jihadis) the Syrian and Iranian governments: WHICH PATH TO PERSIA? Options for a New American - Strategy toward Iran (pdf).

CNN produced the propaganda piece for the "Syrian rebels" aka al-Qaeda with the help of al-Qaeda's Bilal Abdul Kareem and with Clarissa Ward staring in an al-Qaeda bridal.

Those are several cakes flying into many deserving faces.

US GENERAL WANTS 20,000 ADDITIONAL GROUND TROOPS SENT TO AFGHANISTAN

The US is definitely going to be sending more ground troops to Afghanistan soon, but the exact number is yet to be determined, with the Pentagon today backing away from media reports yesterday that they’d settled on a figure of 4,000 more troops, saying no final decisions have been made yet on numbers.

That might suggest they’re leaning toward an even bigger number, with influential retired Gen. Jack Keane suggesting that the US needed to send up to 20,000 more ground troops if they wanted to win the war, saying he believed the 4,000 figure was not likely to change the direction of the war.

Defense Secretary James Mattis conceded in testimony to the Senate this week that the US is “not winning” in Afghanistan, and President Trump has since given him unilateral authority to decide on troop levels and strategy. Mattis was seen as leaning toward the high end of escalation proposals.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US military is Afghanistan for the pipeline routes, with which to checkmate Russia; the embarrassment of riches provided by its mineral wealth; and the opium poppy trade.

IF NATO, or US leadership were smart, they would leave Afghanistan as quickly as safely possible, and negotiate with whatever government remained standing in Kabul for all of the above.

Of course, that...would be logical.

THE BLOCKADE OF QATAR MAY HAVE MORE TO DO WITH PALESTINE THAN WE THINK

Israeli officials must have been tripping over each other in their rush to endorse the Saudi-led blockade on Qatar. “The Sunni Arab countries, apart from Qatar, are largely in the same boat with us since we all see a nuclear Iran as the number one threat against all of us,” said Israel’s former defence minister Moshe Ya’alon. The blockade represented a “new line drawn in the Middle Eastern sand,” tweeted US-born former Israeli ambassador Michael Oren, while revelling in the regional turmoil. “No longer [is it] Israel against Arabs but Israel and Arabs against Qatar-financed terror,” he added.

College Degrees Are Becoming Useless

These trends are unsustainable. The higher education system seems to be suffering from both economic and cultural issues, but these two types of problems often cause each other in a feedback loop. The ultimate cause for both of them is political.

The Government Is Violent

Why are politicians – left and right – increasingly despised by reasonable people? Could it have anything to do with the fact that they will not leave people alone? That all they do – at great expense (to us) and with great pomposity – is decree how we will be allowed to live, what we must do and what we may not do? Most of these things being precisely none of their business to so order? -- But they believe that it – that everything – is their business, which endows them with an effrontery so great they’ve lost all of the normal restraints that bind ordinary people. We have arrived at a point in our history that absolutely nothing is off the table, beyond the grasping control of these professional grifters – which is what they are. These are not people who earn an honest living by free exchange of value for value, as most of the rest of us do. These are people who take vast sums of money and then dispose of vast sums of money – none of it theirs by right.

Forget the Russian ‘Threat’: Mexico Is Our Real Problem: The cartels control our southern neighbor

we hear almost nothing about the one country where journalists who report on official corruption are routinely killed, and in such numbers that the death toll makes Russia look like a utopian paradise – Mexico, where more than one-hundred reporters have been slaughtered by the drug cartels and their collaborators inside the Mexican government. The killers are rarely found, let alone punished: as of 2012, 98% of homicides in Mexico went unsolved. I doubt the impunity rate has improved much since then.

Tillerson: US Working for Regime Change in Iran

Speaking to the House Foreign Affairs Committee yesterday, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was asked about whether or not the Trump Administration’s policy is one of trying to impose regime change on Iran. While Tillerson insisted that the specifics of administration policy on Iran are still under development, he did confirm that the goal remains regime change.

Exactly how they expect to pull that off remains to be seen, but Tillerson said the US policy as it stands is to rely on “elements inside of Iran” who can be supported toward the end goal of regime change, with the hope it would be a “peaceful transition of that government.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Why does there seem to be such a huge blood lust, on the part of the Deep State of the Unhinged Surveilled States of America, to go to war with Russia, to which an attack against Iran will almost inevitably lead?!?!?

Because it is on Israel's "US to-do list"?!?

Israel wants to see Iran regime changed, but constantly insists that this only happen through American blood, and American money.

US may attack Syrian troops with multiple rocket launchers — Russian Defense MinistryMore:http://tass.com/defense/951642

The United States may attack Syrian government troops with the HIMARS multiple rocket launchers moved to the al-Tanf military base in Syria from Jordan, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.

"The Russian Defense Ministry has been keeping an eye on the situation along the Syrian-Jordanian border," the statement said.

The US earlier relocated two High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems from Jordan to the military base located near the city of al-Tanf, 18 kilometers from the Jordanian border.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, "the deployment of any foreign weapons to Syria’s territory should be agreed with the country’s government."

Webmaster's Commentary:

This move appears to indicate the US desiring a wider war against the Syrian government, which will most probably mean war against Russia.

Yemen cholera toll nears 1,000 as 'humanity loses out to politics'

The death toll from a cholera outbreak is approaching 1,000 in Yemen, a war-devastated and impoverished country where "humanity is losing out to politics", a senior UN official said Thursday.

"Time is running out to save people who are being killed or being starved and now you have cholera as well adding to that complication," said Jamie McGoldrick, UN humanitarian coordinator in Yemen.

"We are struggling because of the lack of resources. We need some action immediately," he said at a press briefing in the Jordanian capital.

McGoldrick gave updated figures of more than 130,000 suspected cases of cholera and over 970 deaths, with women and children accounting for half of the numbers.

"What is heartbreaking in Yemen is that humanity is losing out to the politics," said McGoldrick.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These Saudi bombings have killed and maimed Yemeni kids for life:

Because of US assistance for Saudi Arabia in their blockading Yemeni ports, meaning food cannot get through, Yemeni children are dying from malnutrition.

Images: Yemeni children dying from starvation due to malnutrition

Oh, and did I mention that Saudi Arabia is using depleted uranium weapons in Yemen?!?

Saudi Arabia using depleted uranium in Yemen

The use of these weapons is causing a predictable massive uptick in horrific physical and mental deformities in Yemen's newborns:

Massive birth defects expected in Yemeni children, courtesy of the Saudi use of depleted uranium weapons.

There is a brutal ugliness in this criminal Saudi war of attrition in Yemen, one which barely gets whispered about.

But as a Christian witness to this immoral and illegal war, which is deliberately murdering and maiming Yemeni children; which is deliberately starving Yemeni children to the point of malnutrition, disease and death; and deliberately poisoning Yemeni children in the womb with depleted uranium weapons, I feel compelled to speak the truth about what has been going on here.

And President Trump is so completely, absolutely, and horrifically on the wrong side of history here, I cannot begin to articulate it. His "bromance" with Saudi royals, on his first foreign trip, as a way to push more American weapons on them, just sickened me.

That he, and the US and Saudi governments are so morally comfortable with this genocide of Yemeni children reminds me very strongly of the statement made by the Papal Legate at the Catholic Church's siege of the Cathars at Montsegur. When information reached him that women and children were also in attendance where the men were being besieged, he responded: "Kill them all: God will find his own."

Leafly Interview: Dirty Trickster Roger Stone Talks Cannabis Legalization & Trump

Stone filed paperwork earlier this week with the Internal Revenue Service to create the United States Cannabis Coalition, a nonprofit political organization with the same tax-exempt status as super-PACs that influence politicians and elections.

Stone is scheduled to detail the USCC's plans in a keynote speech today at the Cannabis World Congress and Business Exposition in New York.

He spoke with Leafly on Thursday about his legalization advocacy and his new group.
For Trump, but Against Sessions
Stone said he's troubled by Attorney General Jeff Sessions recent request to Congress to grant him authority to prosecute medical cannabis patients in states in which the botanical drug is legal in direct opposition to a 2013 memo from President Barack Obama's Attorney General upholding states rights. Stone called Sessions request devastating.

United States, China to Meet Wednesday on North Korea

U.S. and Chinese diplomatic and defense chiefs will meet Wednesday for a security dialogue that Washington says will focus on curbing North Korea's nuclear and missile programs.

The talks in Washington will involve U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis, as well as China's top diplomat, State Councilor Yang Jiechi, and General Fang Fenghui, chief of state of the People's Liberation Army, the U.S. State Department said.

It will be the inaugural session of the U.S.-China Diplomatic and Security Dialogue, a framework launched by President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping during a summit in Florida in April.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am hopeful that something concrete comes of these talks, and that Chinese President Xi Jinping has made good use of those "hundred days" he requested of President Trump to work things out with North Korea.

Report: Xi asked Trump for 100-day grace period on North Korea

Unfortunately, however, Kim Jun Un's rhetoric has not softened against the United States, but in fact, over the last several months, appears to be becoming more threatening, rather than less; this has not been helpful.

But if there is no real resolution with North Korea over its nuclear weapons program at the end of the 100 days for which Chinese President Xi Jinping asked, we may well be looking at a war scenario against North Korea. President Trump may believe that not going ahead with some sort of a regional consortium, including South Korea, and Japan, and perhaps, Australia, may cause him to "lose face", a very critical concept in Asian diplomacy.

HARVARD ANALYST ACCUSES THE CLINTONS OF 'LARGEST CHARITY FRAUD IN HISTORY'

An investigation into The Clinton Foundation by a financial analyst from Harvard University has revealed fraud on a "monumental scale", according to reports.
Charles Ortel claims to have evidence that Bill and Hillary Clinton have committed the largest case of charity fraud in American history.
Ortel, one of the world's leading financial experts, claims that the Clintons are also part of a global fraud networks that have acquired billions in fraudulent profits.

Wall St On Parade reports: In a 9-page letter dated yesterday and posted on his blog, Ortel calls the Clintons’ charity the "largest unprosecuted charity fraud ever attempted," adding for good measure that the Clinton Foundation is part of an "international charity fraud network whose entire cumulative scale (counting inflows and outflows) approaches and may even exceed $100 billion, measured from 1997 forward."

Ortel lists 40 potential areas of fraud or wrongdoing that he plans to expose.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I just hope Ortel is wearing his Kevlar undies these days; doesn't plan on flying in small planes; and isn't getting "depressed".

People who get too close to the ugly reality of what the Clinton Cartel is doing, or has done, have a tendency to wind up quite dead.

A suspicious note with white powder was delivered to the home of Republican congressional candidate Karen Handel.

Georgia police confirm they are now investigating a total of five calls after Handel and her neighbors received envelopes containing a powdery substance and a note labeling her a 'dirty fascist' on Thursday.

According to Roswell Police spokesperson Lisa Holland, police received a call around 1.30 pm that someone had received an envelope in a mailbox that contained an unidentified powdery substance in the suburban neighborhood of Roswell.

Currently, it is unknown if anymore envelopes have been delivered, but the US Postal truck that was involved has been notified.

ALEX JONES GETS JUMP ON MEGYN KELLY - LEAKS RECORDINGS TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT

After NBC's Megyn Kelly lied to Alex Jones about the scope and purpose of an upcoming Father's Day airing of his sit-down interview for Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly, the Infowars host set the record straight on Thursday night - preempting Kelly's segment with 'leaked' recordings of their conversations before she could smear Jones on Sunday.
