Theresa May trying to protect soldiers who murder prisoners and torture civilians, says top human rights lawyer

Theresa May has been accused of wanting to cover up war crimes committed by British soldiers by a world-leading human rights lawyer.

In her speech to the Conservative party conference, the Prime Minister pledged to rapturous applause that “we will never again in any future conflict let those activist left-wing human rights lawyers harangue and harass the bravest of the brave, the men and women of our Armed Forces”.

Under Government proposals, British soldiers would be exempt from action under European Court of Human Rights law. However, they would still be subject to International Humanitarian law, including the Geneva conventions and UK criminal law.

Geoffrey Robertson QC, a former United Nations’ appeals judge, wrote in an email to The Independent that Ms May’s rhetoric was becoming "increasingly ignorant".

Webmaster's Commentary:

Prime Minister May is going down a really morally slippery slope with these proposals: I wish she would reconsider.

But what this telegraphs to me, almost in red letters, is that the UK is considering some more military adventurism in the near future which may involve torture, and and the murder of civilians by UK military troops.

At least 20 Iraqi pro-government fighters have been killed when the US-led coalition targeted their position near the militant-held northern city of Mosul, media reports say.

A local source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the US-led military aircraft struck a building in the Kharaeb village of the al-Qayyarah region, located approximately 300 kilometers north of the capital, Baghdad, on Wednesday morning, leaving 20 Iraqi tribal fighters dead and five others injured, Arabic-language Shafaq news agency reported.

This is What they Were Afraid Of — Iraqis Use ‘Sue the Saudis’ 9/11 Bill to Sue US for 2003 Invasion

The warmongers in the US government have just had their fears realized as Iraq plans to use the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA), aka Sue the Saudis Bill, to demand compensation for the US invasion of Iraq.

Last month, the U.S. House of Representatives, following the lead of the Senate, passed a bill allowing Americans to sue Saudi Arabia over 9/11. When the bill made it to the President’s desk, however, Obama quickly showed his loyalty to Saudi Arabia and vetoed it. However, that was only the beginning of the rollercoaster.

Days after his despicable veto, the Senate stepped up and overwhelmingly voted to override it.

Survivors of CIA torture describe homebrew electric chair used at Afghan black site

Lufti al-Arabi, a Tunisian man who was arrested in Pakistan while studying at university, spent 13 years in the CIA's notorious "Salt Pit" prison (AKA "Detention Site COBALT") in Afghanistan, enduring incredible, crippling torture, before finally being released without charge, comment, or compensation in 2015; in his first interview since his release, he tells Human Rights Watch about the inhumane tortures of the Salt Pit, including some tortures that were apparently omitted from the CIA's suppressed torture report to the US Senate.

Among these tortures is a homemade "electric chair" with wires and clips that were attached to his fingers and a wired-up helmet that was placed on his head. Al-Arabi's account is corroborated by Ridha al-Najjar, another Tunisian national who was also held for 13 years before being released without charge.

But according to the Legatum Prosperity Index’s findings for 2015, the U.S. is the healthiest country in the world. However, when it comes to freedom, an ideal most Americans pride themselves on, the U.S. falls to 15.

Barbarism in Words and Deeds. Barbarism of U.S. Imperial Wars is Unmatched

Over the past decade and a half, the US and its allies have invaded, occupied, killed, wounded and dispossessed over ten million people, in countries from Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Libya, Syria, Yemen and Lebanon. Military and civilian officials have systematically destroyed entire economies, fostered ethno-religious wars, undermined ancient community and family ties and placed corrupt political puppets in power.

Promoted by the US, torture, arbitrary arrest and incarceration have become the norm creating lawless and chaotic societies, which had once been productive and stable. The shredding of social structures has provokes massive population flight, with millions of desperate refugees fleeing invasions, wars and total society breakdown. The result of these deliberate imperial policy decisions has been emptied cities and neighborhoods, broken families, destroyed lives and futures for many millions of young Arabs and Muslims.

The future of the ISIS Caliphate has been clear (to me) since at least 2003 when I wrote my sequel to God’s Debris, titled The Religion War. Scholar: US, UK Supporting War Crimes in the Middle East

Stephen Zunes, a California-based international relations scholar, states that London and Washington demonstrate a double standard approach to war crimes.

Saudi Arabia has been bombing Yemen since 2015. The war has already left 10,000 people dead and over a million malnourished children, according to the UN. The UK is one of the major weapon providers for the Saudis. It approved over £3 billion in arms sales to reinstate former Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a Saudi ally.

An Obsolescent Military: Bombing Everything, Gaining Nothing

What, precisely, is the US military for, and what, precisely, can it do? In practical terms, how powerful is it? On paper, it is formidable, huge, with carrier battle groups, advanced technology, remarkable submarines, satellites, and so on. What does this translate to?

The American military is an upgraded World War II military, designed to fight other militaries like itself in a world like that which existed during World War II. The Soviet Union was that kind of military. Today there are no such militaries for America to fight. We are not in the same world. Washington seems not to have noticed.

Flashback: Saudi Arabia appears to be using U.S.-supplied white phosphorus in its war in Yemen

Saudi Arabia appears to be using U.S.-supplied white phosphorus munitions in its war in Yemen, based on images and videos posted to social media, raising concerns among human rights groups that the highly incendiary material could be used against civilians.

Under U.S. regulations, white phosphorus sold to other countries is to be used only for signaling to other troops and creating smoke screens. When the munition explodes, it releases white phosphorus that automatically ignites in the air and creates a thick white smoke. When used against soldiers or civilians, it can maim and kill by burning to the bone.

It is unclear exactly how the Saudis are using the munitions, but the government has already received widespread condemnation for its indiscriminate bombing in civilian areas since its campaign against rebel forces in Yemen began in 2015.

Did the Pentagon Bomb Syrian Army to Kill Ceasefire Deal?

The US has officially taken responsibility for the incident which it called a “mistake”...

A rift between the Pentagon and the White House turned into open rebellion on Saturday when two US F-16s and two A-10 warplanes bombed Syrian Arab Army (SAA) positions at Deir al-Zor killing at least 62 Syrian regulars and wounding 100 others.

Many analysts now wonder whether the attacks are an indication that the neocon-strewn DOD is actively engaged in sabotaging President Obama’s Syria policy, a claim that implies that the Pentagon is led by anti-democratic rebels who reject the Constitutional authority of the civilian leadership. Saturday’s bloodletting strongly suggests that a mutiny is brewing at the War Department.

Assad Interview: US Airstrikes on Syrian Troops Not a Mistake, “You Cannot Commit a Mistake for One Hour”

Assad, who we used to get told was an inhumane monster who is hurting his people but whom we are told nothing about anymore, makes a good point. If the US accidentally attacked Syrian troops (for an hour), how did ISIS know the "accidental" attack was coming?

By the time these strikes were reported on here in the US, we Americans were told they are a "mistake" and it was all just a big fat regrettable accident.

However, America can't have it both ways. We can't be told how exceptional and amazing our military is, how all strikes are done with "surgical precision," then get told "whoopsies!" on something like this...

FLASHBACK - Iraqi Soldiers Fighting ISIS Bombed by “Errant” U.S. Airstrike

On the front lines of the battle against the Islamic State, suspicion of the United States runs deep. Iraqi fighters say they have all seen the videos purportedly showing U.S. helicopters airdropping weapons to the militants, and many claim they have friends and relatives who have witnessed similar instances of collusion.

“At first we thought it was something fired by Daesh,” said one army solider, his uniform covered in blood from carrying the injured. Daesh is an Arabic term for the Islamic State. “The explosion was very big. We ran. I saw many dead bodies. I saw that one of my friends had lost a leg.”

However, in addition to the death toll, the injured officer also disputed the official version of events. “We were moving forward and Daesh were retreating, when suddenly the bombing took place on the forces that were behind us,” he said. “It was meant to be a secure area.

US Destroying Syria’s Oil Infrastructure Under Guise of Fighting ISIS

The US is considering bombing pipelines in Syria, which it claims is in an attempt to cut off the huge profits being made by ISIS from captured oilfields.

The Independent quotes Julieta Valls Noyes, the deputy assistant secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs during a visit to London, that ISIS was making $2 million a day off oil sales and that the US would consider airstrikes as well as “kinetic strikes against some pipelines” and “actual physical action to stop the flow”.

The trouble with this justification for destroying Syria’s oil pipelines, is that ISIS does not have the capability to use the pipelines to transfer oil. ISIS transports the stolen oil on the back of trucks, and sells it on the black market in Turkey.

“The US-led coalition’s shelling of the economic facilities and infrastructure, and the unilateral coercive measures adopted by some countries on the Syrian people are the reason behind the mounting difficult conditions Syria is passing through,” Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said in two identical letters sent Wednesday to the UN Secretary General and President of Security Council.

Why Is The U.S. Silently Bombing Syria's Electricity Network?

Of course the US would never bomb anything and not take responsiblity for it.

Both sides will have some electricity and the civilian as well as fighters on both side will be better off than without electricity. No side has a motive to destroy that plant.

But last night the U.S. coalition bombed the Aleppo thermal power plant and destroyed parts of it:

A military source told SANA that warplanes of the Washington alliance violated Syrian airspace and attacked civilian infrastructure in Mare’a, Tal Sha’er, and al-Bab in Aleppo countryside on Sunday.
The source added that the warplanes attacked the biggest electric power plant that feeds Aleppo city, which resulted in cutting off power from most neighborhoods in Aleppo city.

U.S. Allies 'Volunteer' To Share (Implausible) Blame For Deir Ezzor Attack

The Syrian government now says some 82 soldiers were killed in the attack which also destroyed 3 T-72 tanks, 3 infantry fighting vehicles, an anti-aircraft gun and at least 4 mortars. Following the attack the Islamic State troops stormed the Syrian government position on the Jabal Thardeh hill. They are now able to harass the airport of Deir Ezzor, the only supply line for the ISIS besieged city and the 150,000+ civilians living there under government protection. We note that this was not the first U.S. attack on Syrian government forces in Deir Ezzor. Back in December 3 Syrian soldiers were killed in an air raid. In June a U.S. air attack on Manbij killed some 100 civilians. No U.S. attack on any ISIS target in Syria ever came near such casualty numbers.

‘US is defending ISIS’: Russia convenes UNSC meeting after US coalition strike on Syrian army

Moscow has called an urgent UN Security Council meeting after US-led coalition hit Syrian forces, killing 62 soldiers and wounding 100 more. The Russian FM spokeswoman blasted Washington over the indiscriminate airstrike that she said serves the interests of ISIS terrorists.
“If previously we had suspicions that Al-Nusra Front is protected this way, now, after today’s airstrikes on the Syrian army we come to a really terrifying conclusion for the entire world: The White House is defending IS [Islamic State, formerly ISIS/ISIL],”Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Rossiya 24.

“We demand a full and detailed explanation from Washington. That explanation must be given at the UN Security Council,”Zakharova added.

Syria: No “Dusty Boy” Outrage for 7 yr old Haider, Sniped by NATO Terrorists in Idlib Village of Foua

On the 15th September, 7 year old Haider Ammar Al Hamoud, was shot through the stomach by an Ahrar Al Sham sniper, the US backed terrorist group besieging the Idlib villages of Kafarya and Foua. Haider was ignored by western media.

His life-threatening injury did not merit any outcry from human rights organisations or the NATO-aligned media who ignore the deaths and injuries of tens of thousands of children in Syria because it does not serve their agenda to demonize the Syrian President, Bashar al Assad or the national armed forces.

Over 80 Syrian soldiers killed by US airstrikes in Deir Ezzor

A military source from the Qassem Units told Al-Masdar moments ago that over 80 Syrian Arab Army soldiers were killed by the U.S. airstrikes in Deir Ezzor.

The source added that the death toll will likely rise in the coming hours as more bodies are discovered in Jabal Thardeh.

Originally, the Syrian Armed Forces were able to pull 20 bodies from the rubble; however, since recovering most of Jabal Thardeh, they have discovered dozens of dead soldiers.

Most of the soldiers were killed when the U.S. Air Force dropped phosphorous bombs on their positions, killing the men instantly.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is a war crime to use white phosphorus against human targets.

And in Uruguay, former Guantánamo prisoner Abu Wa’el Dhiab has awoken from a coma amid an ongoing hunger strike demanding he be allowed to leave Uruguay and reunite with his family in Turkey or in another Arabic-speaking country. Dhiab was imprisoned in Guantánamo for 12 years without ever being charged with a crime. While in Guantánamo, Dhiab also launched a hunger strike to demand his freedom. He was among a group of prisoners subjected to forced feeding.

Study: One-Third of Saudi Airstrikes in Yemen Hit Civilian Targets

A new study conducted by the Yemen Data Project in cooperation with the Guardian has revealed for the first time some shocking metrics related to the massive civilian death toll in Saudi airstrikes. The study found that roughly one-third of all airstrikes targeted explicitly civilian targets.

That’s a best-case scenario, too. 3,158 non-military targets were confirmed out of a little over 8,600 raids. Another 1,882 of the strikes hit “unknown” targets, meaning all told the number of civilian targets could be in excess of half overall.

Webmaster's Commentary:

By enabling the Saudi military with their purchase of US weapons, and providing "guidance" to the strikes, the US government is a collaborator in Saudi war crimes in Yemen.

Please let that sink in for a moment!!

Deadly Dust - Depleted Uranium (Frieder Wagner 2007)

German documentary film with english subtitles produced by Mr. Frieder Wagner (original name is "Todesstaub"). The film is about war crimes in the former Yugoslavia, particularly in Bosnia, Serbia and Kosovo and Iraq. The use of depleted uranium is made genocide of those countries that is not remembered in the history of mankind, even the Nazi crimes remained low compared to the genocide, which is still ongoing and will last almost forever, unfortunately. In contaminated areas people are still at risk of a lot of people do not know and this is the worst because it is invisible genocide.

No looking back: the CIA torture report's aftermath

“I want to be absolutely clear with our people and the world. The United States does not torture,” said George W Bush on 6 September 2006.

Bush was, for the first time, acknowledging the existence of the program that Senate intelligence committee staff investigator Daniel Jones would later expose as taking power drills to the heads of captured men; making them stand with their arms stretched above their heads for days at a time; leaving at least one of them naked until he froze to death; waterboarding them to the point of catatonia as bubbles rose from their open mouths; and inserting pureed food into their rectums while claiming it was necessary for delivering nutrients.

Details of those procedures were outlined in the 525 pages which CIA director John Brennan, Barack Obama and White House chief of staff Denis McDonough allowed to become public.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When the US government tortures, or outsources torture, two things happen:

People around the world understand that everything this government says about human rights and human dignity are simply bald-faced lies, only to be observed in the breach by the torture it commits or outsources, and:

When the US government tortures, it gives carte blanche to other countries which do not like us so well to torture American civilians and military personnel.

And as to that codswallop about torture producing valuable intelligence; torture only gets the tortured person to say what they think their captors want them to say to get the torture to stop, period, end of discussion.

One of the most effective interrogators during World War II was German Interrogator Hans Scharff, and he only used kindness and conversation to get what he wanted.

The Friendliest Interrogator Of World War II Was A German

Torture is morally evil; those who sign off on the use of torture (and yes, I am speaking of that unholy trinity of Bush, Rumsfeld, and Cheney), and those who torture, are mentally ill; there can be no other reasonable explanation, when such practices are both unnecessary, and extremely counterproductive

CIA & White House tried to suppress Senate torture probe – report

A Senate report into the CIA’s use of torture and its cover-up was heavily redacted and almost never published, with the Obama administration trying to protect the agency, its lead investigator has revealed for the first time.

Daniel Jones, the Senate Intelligence Committee staffer who led the probe into the CIA’s detention and interrogation program following 9/11, has revealed the drama behind the six-year effort in a three-part expose authored by Spencer Ackerman and published over the weekend by the Guardian.

From 2008 to 2014, Jones and his colleagues examined over 6.3 million CIA documents, eventually authoring a 6,700-page classified report concluding that the agency had lied about torture to two US presidents, Congress and the public.

Since 2011, Woolsey has chaired the board of directors of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, an important bastion of hawkish “pro-Israel” advocacy in the United States that has served as an outpost for many well-known rightist ideologues.

Chelsea Manning Begins Hunger Strike, Demanding “Dignity and Respect” in Prison

Starting on Friday, Manning said, she would not willingly consume any food or drink, except water and prescribed medications.

Manning also refused to “voluntarily cut or shorten her hair in any way.” Army officials repeatedly force Manning to cut her hair to “military standards” – an appearance that she says does not reflect her gender identity.

Human rights advocates have repeatedly raised concerns about Manning’s treatment in prison. After her arrest in 2010, she was subjected to solitary confinement for extended periods and repeatedly stripped naked in her cell. Her treatment was so bad that a State Department spokesperson spoke out against the Pentagon and described it as “ridiculous and counterproductive and stupid.”

Since her conviction, Manning has been repeatedly threatened with indefinite solitary confinement, for charges as frivolous as keeping an expired tube of toothpaste in her cell.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This woman was charged and jailed for telling the truth, in an environment of repeated governmental and military lies.

She embarrassed this government and military for telling the truth; that is why she will most likely die in a military prison.

That the US government and military are trying to make a martyr our of her does not speak well for peace and justice in this country at all.

Inside the fight to reveal the CIA's torture secrets

Daniel Jones had always been friendly with the CIA personnel who stood outside his door.

When he needed to take something out of the secured room where he read mountains of their classified material, they typically obliged. An informal understanding had taken hold after years of working together, usually during off-peak hours, so closely that Jones had parking privileges at an agency satellite office not far from its McLean, Virginia, headquarters. They would ask Jones if anything he wanted to remove contained real names or cover names of any agency officials, assets or partners, or anything that could compromise an operation. He would say no. They would nod, he would wish them a good night, and they would go their separate ways.

After midnight in the summer of 2013, Jones deliberately violated that accord.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We now understand, post 9/11 and through the lies stated to start the Iraq war, that the Federal government lies about everything, not only to their own leadership, but also to We the People; this is why they, and the presstitutes, which spew their codswallop over the radio and television stations, can never be believed again.

The Unspoken War on Yemen, Anglo-American Crimes against Humanity, U.N. and Media Silence, Complicity of “The International Community”, Destruction of an Entire Country…

On Tuesday 6th of September, twenty-four hour monitoring by Yemen’s Legal Centre for Rights and Development (LCRD) recorded the bombings by the Saudi led “coalition”, armed by the US and UK and advised by their military specialists, thus collusion and co-operation of both countries render them equally culpable for the carnage.

Yemen has a population of just 24.41 million (2013 figure) and according to the Rural Poverty Portal:

“ … is one of the driest, poorest and least developed countries in the world. It ranks 140 out of 182 countries on the United Nations Development Programme’s Human Development Index (2009). An estimated 42 percent of the people are poor, and one Yemeni in five is malnourished. Poverty is endemic, particularly in more remote and less accessible areas.”

In the one day and night period covered here, attacked were the capital Sana’a and Sa’dah, Marib, AlJawf, Hajjah, Hodeidah.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Americans, your country, and the UK, are complicit and enablers in the war crimes of the Saudi Government, the House of Saud, and the Saudi Military.

The Yemeni people's crime in all this?!?

Having thrown off a brutal dictator, the US sponsored and anointed Al-Hadi, and replaced his government with that of the Houthi rebels.

The Saudis are killing innocent civilians, including children; they are blowing up hospitals, schools, private residences, and market places in order to cow the Yemeni people into submission.

These acts are war crimes.

But this military campaign was supposed to end quickly; and after 18 months, the Yemeni people show absolutely no signs of backing down from this Saudi military onslaught.

So, I have to wonder what the UK and the US are going to offer the Saudis in terms of new weaponry; perhaps, since the US has blocked the transfer of cluster bombs to the Saudi military, will the UK fill in the gap?!? More air to air missiles?!? Perhaps a tactical nuke or two?!?

I am most certain that the US and UK have many more goodies for their defense industries to offer the Saudi military; it's just a question of the price.

But I would really like for you to see just what these airstrikes are accomplishing; they are accomplishing this, and I warn you, this is an horrifically graphic image:

At least 10 children killed in Saudi airstrike in Yemen

I do hope this image burns in your memory for a very, very long time, because henceforward, you cannot say, "I didn't know the US government was doing in Yemen with it's military partner, Saudi Arabia."

So, this is the bottom line of what the US and UK are doing by enabling this Saudi war against Yemen; the assassinations of innocent civilians, including children, from the sky, with bombing runs.

Please take a good, hard look at these tiny dead bodies for a moment, and yes, I know, if you have any compassion at all, this is very hard; then, imagine, for one brief moment, that they had been your kids.

And, understandably, not a word from the American presstitutes and whoresspondents on these extrajudicial assassinations.

The airwaves, and the net, are filled with mindless distractions, digital heroin, if you will, to keep people from focusing on what is going on the real world; and while you have been distracted, the US and UK continue to be the Merchants of Death to realms which routinely suppress their own populations, and commit war on others.

The United States of Amerika is now a proud sponsor of war crimes: I never, growing up, thought that I would actually see this come true, but it has.

This is terrible, horrific truth with which to have to live; but what I can do is bear peaceful, Christian witness to the crimes of this government, and hopefully, to get the American people to awaken to them.

Dutch ex-PM calls visiting Netanyahu ‘war criminal’ amid anti-Israeli protests in The Hague

Instead of rolling out a welcome mat for Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu, who kickstarted his visit to the Netherlands on Tuesday amid huge pro-Palestine protests, the Dutch should “send him right away to the International Criminal Court,” Dries Van Agt said.
Ahead of Netanyahu’s two-day visit to the country, Van Agt, who served as Dutch PM from 1977 to 1982, labelled the Israeli leader a “war criminal” in an televised interview with the NPO1 national TV channel on Monday.

The Starvation of Yemen

Peter Oborne and Nawal al-Maghafi have produced an extensive report on the appalling conditions in Yemen. Here they discuss some of the effects of the Saudi-led blockade:

We were also told by doctors that the blockade of Yemen, legitimized by the United Nations Security Council, and backed by Britain and the United States to prevent arms supplies reaching the warring sides, has also prevented vital drugs and medical equipment from reaching the country.

‘There are babies dying in incubators because we can’t get supplies to treat them’

At the Republic teaching hospital in Sanaa, the Yemeni capital, Dr Ahmed Yahya al-Haifi spelt out what he saw as the consequences of the Saudi blockade: “We are unable to get medical supplies. Anaesthetics. Medicines for kidneys. There are babies dying in incubators because we can’t get supplies to treat them.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

That the starvation of children is simply brushed off as 'normal collateral damage" by the House of Saud; the Saudi Government, and the Saudi military, telegraphs that these are among the most morally bankrupt people on the face of this earth.

Of course, the US government is no stranger to child starvation as a component of war. Take a look at the video below.

THE HOPE AND CHANGE CON?

Consider Obama’s record on human rights: one of the first steps he took upon getting into office was to backtrack on his own fervent vows to investigate and stop CIA torture in Iraq, Afghanistan and Guantanamo. Over 100 detainees had died in US custody, several in truly horrific circumstances. For instance, Gul Rahman was beaten, stripped, shackled to a wall at very low temperatures where he froze to death. Manadel al-Jamadi was beaten, shackled, and with five broken ribs, couldn’t breathe and died. An investigating army general concluded there was “no doubt” war crimes had been committed — the real question was would there be an accounting?

Webmaster's Commentary:

At every turn, and by every possible metric, President Obama has been an epic failure as our President.

I feel very frustrated by a political process which rarely gives the American people the best and the brightest choices.

Our elections are most generally a complete sham, electronically hacked, and a Kabuki-like exercise in the illusion of choice.

Because at the end of the day, we choose those candidates best vetted by the corporations to make sure their profits will continue to expand; We, the People, have become nearly completely expendable and irrelevant to this process.

This November's election, however, is critical to the future of this country.

There are things which are offsetting about Donald Trump, and yes, sometimes, he does behave a bit like a blunt instrument. Do I like everything he says? No. But do I think he offers the American people a choice of something which is NOT "business as Usual", which translates into politicians lining their pockets with corporate cash, and being completely tone-deaf to the real needs and concerns of We the People?!? Absolutely.

However, that being said, I encourage people to think about what a Clinton presidency will bring to our nation's future; more horrific corruption; more "pay to play" favors for foreign nations; more lies; more wars; more offshoring and outsourcing of American jobs; possible conscription; and a nation mired in poverty and inequality.

Oh, and BTW, did I happen to mention that every North African and Middle Eastern Country which donated to the Clinton Foundation, without exception, chemically castrates, jails, or executes its LGBTQ community, and permits the female genital mutilation of their women?!?

Hillary Clinton Took Millions from Anti-LGBT Countries That Jail and Execute Gays

Prevalence of female genital mutilation by country

And all you Clintonistas out there, don't you dare tell me she "didn't know"; If I was able to do the research here, and make the correlations, why couldn't some hired researcher have come to the same conclusions I did, and tell her that there could be problems down the road from accepting this money from these countries, because somebody was going to discover this, and it could be a major headache for her campaign?!?

So, let's go to the second premise: she knew full well about these abuses, but took the money anyway.

How can one claim to be pro-LGBTQ and pro-women, and do this, knowing these abuses in these countries continued, unabated, and still accept their money at the Clinton Foundation?!?

The short answer is, Hillary Clinton has utterly no moral center: it is all about power, wealth, and using that power and wealth to amass more.

That's it, folks; Hillary Clinton is just one more empty, very expensive talking suit, ravenously glutenous for more power, more wealth, and more corruption.

My List Of The Ten Worst U.S. Presidents

At any rate, with my Facebook post I made my list without explanation. I will use this column to share a little bit of the reasoning behind my selections. So here goes: my top ten worst presidents in U.S. history:

1. Abraham Lincoln (Republican)

Without an ounce of doubt in my mind, Abraham Lincoln is America’s absolute worst President. He did not free a single slave; but what he did do was begin the process of enslaving free men. It is no hyperbole to say that Lincoln truly governed as a dictator, not as a President.

The Neocon in the Oval Office

Neoconservatives are wedded to war, death and destruction. It is the foundation of their policy and it dominates the culture that they have created.

If Hillary Rodham Clinton becomes US President, she will be the first neoconservative to actually occupy that office.

Israel and its supporters were inseparable from the neoconservative movement from the beginning.

Many neocons were already Zionist or pro-Zionist, and their support for aggressive militarism was largely indistinguishable from Israel’s own strategic plans.

To the extent that the neocon movement could sell Israel’s views as solidly American, it could bend the resources of the most powerful military on earth for Israel’s own ends.

Defence minister since May, Mr Lieberman has been itching to accelerate Israel’s annexation by stealth of the West Bank. His “carrot and stick” plan has three components. We should seek U.N. Security Council approval, but be prepared to proceed without it.”

DESPOTS “DONATE” TO CLINTON FOUNDATION, RECEIVE WEAPONS FROM HILLARY: LEAKED DOCS

Newly leaked documents provide further details on what Harper’s magazine calls the Clinton family’s “slush fund”, the Clinton Foundation.
As Secretary of State (the US government position chiefly responsible for coordinating US international arms trafficking), Hillary Clinton accepted millions of dollars in “donations” from the dictator of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa, then increased US weapons sales to him by 137% during his brutal, Saudi-backed crackdown on pro-democracy protestors.

The crackdown, as reported by Amnesty International, has included murder and child-torture. In 2009, a Clinton State Department official stated that al Khalifa’s weapons coordinator was a “good friend of ours”.

Within Hillary Clinton’s increase in arms trafficking to the dictator of Bahrain was a 10,000% increase in transfers of “toxicological agents”.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ah yes, Clinton's "great friend", Prince Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa, whose regime has been killing, and torturing not only peaceful Shiite demonstrators, but also torturing and killing the first responders, trying to save their lives after they had been shot or teargassed.

Clinton was very much Prince Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa's enabler on this rampage of murder, torture, and suppression, by approving the transfer of weapons and toxicological agents, under her watch as Secretary of State.

In fact, a great campaign slogan for her right now would be: "Hillary Clinton; trust her to do for American what she did for the Shiites in Bahrain!!"

The Sunni al Khalifa monarchy has been marginalizing their Shiite population for a very long time, and the outcome has been devastating for Bahrain's Shiite population.

As reported this July at www.independent.com:

Once considered one of the more liberal Arab monarchies, Bahrain is turning into a police state as vicious and arbitrary as Egypt

So far, the protests in Bahrain have been relatively peaceful. However, the late President Kennedy said it best; "Where peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable."

But of course, Hillary has the morals of a dead tree stump; she didn't care as to the long term effects in Bahrain, as long as she got the money.

CIA Torture Prisoner Makes Case For Gitmo Release In First Public Appearance In 14 Years

A Guantanamo detainee, who the CIA tortured as a suspected top leader of Al-Qaeda but never officially charged, has made his case for release. Abu Zubaydah appeared in public for the first time in 14 years of his detention.

His first-ever hearing was made via video feed from Washington’s Cuba-based prison and on his behalf. Addressing a Periodic Review Board through a uniformed soldier who read his message, Zubaydah said that he “has no desire or intent to harm the United States or any other country.”

A Rare Glimpse of Abu Zubaydah 14 Years After First CIA Torture Session

, made his first appearance Tuesday on video from Guantanamo in a hearing before a Periodic Review Board, 14 years after the last day of a month-long interrogation at a CIA black site in Thailand. It was the first time the “enhanced interrogation techniques” approved by the Bush administration were used on a detainee.

Back then, Abu Zubaydah still had his left eye.

Abu Zubaydah, a Palestinian whose real name is Zayn al Abidin Muhammad, was captured in a raid of a Faisalabad, Pakistan, house on March 28, 2002, suffering severe bullet wounds. The interrogation techniques used on him included stress positions, sleep deprivation, insects placed in a confinement box, and waterboarding, among others.

Most notably perhaps, he was waterboarded 83 times.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A complete denial of due process, coupled with torture; this is horrific, and you may be wondering: could it happen here?!?

Friends, it already has.

Take a good, hard look at this article, published by theguardian.com:

The disappeared: Chicago police detain Americans at abuse-laden 'black site'

And there are - and have been - a number of other prison facilities around the country, as this article describes:

A brief history of secret prisons in the United States

We, as a freedom loving people, have to - peacefully - work to get these institutions closed down immediately, and stop the practices which happen in these institutions from ever happening again, either in foreign countries, or domestically.

US War Crimes or ‘Normalized Deviance’

The normalization of deviance from the rules and standards that formally govern U.S. foreign policy has been quite radical. And yet, as in other cases, this has gradually been accepted as a normal state of affairs, first within the corridors of power, then by the corporate media and eventually by much of the public at large.

Once deviance has been culturally normalized, as Vaughan found in the shuttle program at NASA, there is no longer any effective check on actions that deviate radically from formal or established standards – in the case of U.S. foreign policy, that would refer to the rules and customs of international law, the checks and balances of our constitutional political system and the experience and evolving practice of generations of statesmen and diplomats.

Declassified justice: Gitmo lawyer explains CIA censorship of clients

President Barack Obama’s recent release of 15 prisoners from Guantanamo Bay marked the largest single transfer yet. However, as the US loosens its clutches on some detainees, the CIA’s grip on keeping them silent remains tight as ever.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Even the military kangaroo court has said that most of these people never committed any crimes, so the only thing the CIA needs to keep secret ... is the torture used on them to get them to confess!

What have they done to Ryan Bundy?

Ryan Bundy is being tortured. Multnomah County jail is notorious for dead and injured inmates!

Ryan Bundy is in Solitary Confinement until after his trial. This means that he will have limited opportunities to prepare for defending his freedom. How did this happen?

The FBI agents are already under investigation for lying during that incident. They claimed that they did not fire their weapons. However, it has been shown that there were two bullet casings that were illegally removed from the scene. All of OSP’s shots have been accounted for, therefore the shots seem to have come from the FBI.

Bundy has maintained that he does not give permission to State or Federal authorities to remove the evidence from his arm. He has said that he is willing to have it removed, however, he has certain conditions under which he will agree, including having an independent forensic analysis done. The Federal authorities refuse these terms.

Images of Syrian Boy Remind Us of the Forgotten Victims of Permanent War

Waking Times

In the above snapshot taken this week, 5-year-old Omran Daqneesh is shown after his home in Aleppo, Syria was targeted by airstrikes and rescue crews then pulled him from the rubble. His family is dead. The video and images of Omran have gone ‘viral’ on the internet in recent days, reminding us who exactly it is who pays the price in endless, inter-generational warfare.

Webmaster addition: There are indications that this photo is a fake, to build a case for direct US invasion of Syria. The Boy is seen scratching his "wound" in the video, and considering that there is a nearby bombed house, it is suspicious that we see 15 first responders just standing there doing nothing.

US Targeted Killing Rules Conflate Legality and Politics

The Presidential Policy Guidance would sanction targeting a person who poses a "continuing, imminent threat," not just to "U.S. persons," but also to "another country's persons." A 2011 Department of Justice (DOJ) white paper, leaked in 2013, said that a US citizen can be killed even when there is no "clear evidence that a specific attack on U.S. persons and interests will take place in the immediate future." This makes a mockery of the "imminence" requirement. The administration presumably sets an even lower bar for non-citizens.

There must also be "near certainty that an identified HVT [high-value terrorist] or other lawful terrorist target" is present before using lethal force against him. Yet the administration engages in "signature strikes" that don't necessarily target individuals but rather target all males of military age present in an area of suspicious activity. And the Presidential Policy Guidance does not define "high-value terrorist."

Webmaster's Commentary:

This legalistic mishmash has been engineered as "window-dressing" for the hard fact that this process has utterly no true relationship to the Law of this Land, which is very firmly routed in the concept of due process, and is denied all victims of extrajudicial assassinations.

And I have to speculate here; how long will it be before these tortured rationales lead to extrajudicial assassinations right here at home?!?

Unfortunately, were I a betting person, the short answer would be, "Not long!!"

MSF to evacuate staff from Yemen hospitals after Saudi-led air strikes

Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) says it is evacuating its staff from six hospitals in northern Yemen after the deaths of 19 people in a Saudi-led coalition air strike on one of its facilities.

Countless attacks on health facilities in Yemen have endangered patients and staff and displayed a failure by warring parties to control the use of force, the group said.

The Saudi-led coalition expressed deep regret over the decision and said it was trying to set up "urgent meetings" with the medical aid group.

The Saudi-led coalition expressed deep regret over the decision and said it was trying to set up "urgent meetings" with the medical aid group.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"...Deep regret..." on the part of the Saudi Government, MY ASTROLABE!

By bombing these medical facilities, the Saudi government and military got precisely what they wanted; a complete evacuation of the MSF staff, to insure that no Houthi rebels, or civilians who were badly wounded by their strikes, would get care, and would die, horrifically.

But then, Saudi serial genocide against the Yemeni people, enabled by US bombs and "guidance", has been what this war of attrition has been about, hasn't it?!?

To kill enough Houthis, civilians, children, women, and the elderly medically fragile, to insure that enough emotional and physical capitulation would lead
to the reinstatement of the Al Hadi government, which is the sole objective of the American government.

And THAT is to be accomplished, in their minds, by any means necessary.

But I would like to politely suggest to the House of Saud; the Saudi Government; the Saudi Military; and the American Government that this fight to dislodge the Houthis in Yemen has gone on well over a year, and the rebels don't seem to want to surrender any more than they did when they took the country over.

This conflict could well go down in the history books as Saudi Arabia's Vietnam.

US War Crimes Or ‘Normalized Deviance’

Sociologist Diane Vaughan coined the term “normalization of deviance” as she was investigating the explosion of the Challenger space shuttle in 1986. US DEFENSE FIRMS PROFIT BY SAUDI ARABIA’S SLAUGHTER OF YEMEN

It is not secret that Saudi Arabia has been carrying out ghastly war crimes on the people of Yemen using US weapons and support. Despite the US’ endless (and largely hypocritical) complaining about civilian deaths in Syria, the Saudis have deployed unprecedented violence on civilians in Yemen with no audible opposition from the US. One of the US weapons making an appearance in Yemen are widely banned cluster bombs, specifically the CBU-105 Sensor Fuzed Weapon from Textron Systems of Wilmington, Massachusetts. The bombs are not only lethal upon initial use but often the parts of the bomb do not explode as planned and spontaneously detonate later or by accident when scavengers stumble upon them while looking for scrap metal.

Gawker's Andy Cush filed a public records request for PD policies on using robots to kill and discovered Dallas law enforcement was basically making things up as it went along.

DOCUMENTS CONFIRM CIA CENSORSHIP OF GUANTÁNAMO TRIALS

IN JANUARY 2013, during the military trial of five men accused of plotting the 9/11 attacks, a defense lawyer was discussing a motion relating to the CIA’s black-site program, when a mysterious entity cut the audio feed to the gallery. A red light began to glow and spin. Someone had triggered the courtroom’s censorship system.

The system was believed to be under the control of the judge, Col. James Pohl. In this case, it wasn’t.

Later, Pohl said the censorship was the work of an “OCA,” short for “Original Classification Authority.” In the future, he said, no external body would be permitted to unilaterally censor what was happening in his courtroom.

Many have speculated that Pohl’s “OCA” is in fact the CIA. That speculation is now confirmed with the release of three new documents by The Intercept. The documents show the evolution of secret rules governing what is and is not allowed to be discussed before the military court at Guantánamo.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Why in the name of heaven is the US military torturing when they know that the tortured person will say anything his torturers want him to say to get the torture to stop?!?

Because this wasn't about what the tortured had done or not done; it was about eliciting confessions with which to justify the continued use torture.

I would like to politely remind our military and civilian leadership that when we, as a country, torture, or outsource torture, we demonstrate to the world that Americans are complete, abysmal hypocrites when it comes human rights, democracy, and the moral treatment of prisoners of war.

And I would also like to politely remind our military and civilian leadership that when we, as a country, torture, or outsource torture, this gives carte blanche for foreign countries which really don't like the American government that much, to torture our civilian and military personnel.

Please do take a moment to reflect on that, won't you?!?

After 14 years of torture and illegal detention 'freed' Guantanamo prisoners are left destitute

Over 86% of Guantanamo prisoners were bought by the US from Pakistani and Afghan bounty hunters and militants, who rounded up their victims with little to no evidence they had links to terrorism.

The men are now effectively refugees, they have not been repatriated but sent to a third country that has agreed to resettle them. Due to the security situation and ongoing war, transfers to Yemen are currently banned and have not taken place since 2009. As a result, at least six of the Yemenis had been cleared for release for over 7 years, and in some cases, had been free to leave for over a decade, but had nowhere to go. No Afghans have been repatriated since December 2014.

You want Trump out? How do we get you out?

Hillary, Trump, and War with Russia: The Goddamdest Stupid Idea I Have Ever Heard, and I Have Lived in Washington

A good reason to vote for Trump, a very good reason whatever his other intentions, is that he does not want a war with Russia. Hillary and her elite ventriloquists threaten just that. Note the anti-Russian hysteria coming from her and her remoras.

Such a war would be yet another example of the utter control of America by rich insiders. No normal American has anything at all to gain by such a war. And no normal American has the slightest influence over whether such a war takes place, except by voting for Trump. The military has become entirely the plaything of unaccountable elites.

A martial principle of great wisdom says that military stupidity comes in three grades: Ordinarily stupid; really, really, really stupid; and fighting Russia. Think Charles XII at Poltava, Napoleon after Borodino, Adolf and Kursk.

U.S. approves $1.15 billion sale of tanks, equipment to Saudi Arabia

The U.S. State Department has approved the potential sale of more than 130 Abrams battle tanks, 20 armored recovery vehicles and other equipment, worth about $1.15 billion, to Saudi Arabia, the Pentagon said on Tuesday.

The approval for land force equipment coincides with Saudi Arabia leading a military coalition in support of Yemeni forces loyal to the exiled government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi who are trying to oust Iran-allied Houthi forces from the capital, Sanaa. Human rights groups have criticized the coalition's air strikes because of the deaths of civilians.

The U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency, which implements foreign arms sales, said that General Dynamics will be the principal contractor for the sale.

"This sale will increase the Royal Saudi Land Force’s (RSLF) interoperability with U.S. forces and conveys U.S. commitment to Saudi Arabia's security and armed forces modernization," the agency said in a notice to lawmakers posted on its website.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In over the last year and counting, the Saudis have committed unspeakable war crimes in their killings of civilians, like shelling hospitals, private residences, and schools, but the US government just keeps enabling these war criminals by sending them more weapons.

The lengths of madness to which the US government will go to demonstrate, internationally, that no US-imposed thug, as was Al-Hadi, can be run out of town on a rail, "without consequences" has been murderously amazing.
