Trump denies plans to fly thousands of migrants from the Mexican border to Florida after after acting Homeland Security chief admitted there were initial proposals

President Trump has denied reports that thousands of migrants are to be flown from the Mexican border to Florida in a bid to ease pressure on overcrowded checkpoints.

His denials come after Acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan admitted there were initial plans to ship migrants to Palm Beach and Broward - but that these were not considered viable or 'an effective use of government resources.'

Trump however insisted the plans were never considered, calling it 'false reporting' - and tweeting: 'There are no plans to send migrants to northern or Coastal Border facilities, including Florida... Our country is FULL, will not, and cannot, take you in!'
