G-d of Israel, For This We Give Thanks

When you visit your kid's grave site at some national cemetery, killed fighting 'Wars for Wall Street and Israel,' give thanks that your son or daughter died fighting a war for Zionism.

When you drive home on a pothole filled highway, silently utter a prayer for Israel and smile, knowing that the money that should have repaired that road is building state of the art highways in Israel.

Fox “news” continues CBS, ABC, CNN propaganda to attack Iran: today’s CIA Operation Mockingbird

In the video clip from Fox below, Bill Kristol advocates US military attack on Iran because he predicts that Israel will attack Iran. This is propaganda for an unlawful war for the following “emperor has no clothes” obvious reasons. Fox "reporting" is also a manipulative variation of the same war drone I’ve documented from CBS, ABC, and CNN.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The fact is that absent a new World War, the US Government is finished (actually, a new world war will finish the US, but at least DC will go out with a wild party!)

The conventional view in Washington is that nothing revives fanatical patriotism among American taxpayers like a good bloodbath against, well, it doesn't really matter. We are going after this Arabs because Israel said to and because the Germans have been up at bat twice and are sick of being the global whipping boy.

The sad reality is that we cannot stop the next World War because all it takes is the least mentally stable leader to launch one missile and the whole world catches on fire, then the slaves are put back to work rebuilding it all again.

But what we can do and must do is deprive the attacker of the illusion that the intended target for invasion is somehow the villain.

Israel and the US media attempted to blame Turkey for Israel's attack on the aid flotilla in International waters. This is a repeat of the propaganda Bush used when he attacked Iraq, or Hitler used when he attacked Poland; "They made us do it, Mommy!"

‘Democracy’ Means the U.S. and Israel Approve

Thomas Friedman sure knows how to flip reality on its head. In his New York Times op-ed column today, Friedman hops on the bandwagon of bashing Turkey for "joining the Hamas-Hezbollah-Iran resistance front against Israel."

Friedman accuses Turkish Prime Minister Recip Tayyip Erdogan of no longer promoting democracy and instead being more focused on "praising Hamas instead of the more responsible Palestinian Authority in the West Bank, which is actually building the foundations of a Palestinian state."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ignoring the fact that HAMAS won the elections, right?

Here is the Israeli modus operandi.

Israsel creates and funds "opposition" parties in Palestine to prevent any one party from being seen as the leader of all Palestine. When Yassir Arafat led the PLO and PLO began to accept Israeli terms towards peace, Israel's Shin Bet created and funded HAMAS so that Israel could say, "We do not know who to talk to; there are two governments in Palestine!"

Then Arafat died (or was murdered), and Israel dropped supporting HAMAS. HAMAS, rather than fade away leaving Palestine in Chaos as Israel wanted, decided that since it was now the defacto government of Palestine they would act like one, much to the annoyance of the Israeli sponsors who had betrayed them.

So, Israel played the same game all over, creating and funding FATAH so that Israel could say, "We do not know who to talk to; there are two governments in Palestine!" And as soon as HAMAS is gone and FATAH is the power, Israel will drop support for Abbas and create yet a new opposition party to keep Palestine divided and conquered.

Hold your breath. This in not a joke, this is not a satire. It is real almost as much as it is pathetic. The Whore of Babylon Parties in the Bathhouse of Hell.

One thing the people of America must do at this November election, despite what is certain to happen beforehand. That is to not vote for any Jewish/Israeli lawmaker no matter what. All of them must be thrown out of office. Also, any and every lawmaker who is in support of Israel in any way must be refused office on that basis period. They are traitors in the most indefensible sense. Every single individual who supports the Crime Syndicate known as Israel should be exposed for it as if it were a heinous crime, which it is. Support of Israel must be seen and understood as a capital felony against humanity.

Officials Worried About The Gulf Cleanup Materials Sent To Their Landfills

They have good reason to worry. Even though BP claims otherwise, we just don't know for sure and you shouldn't just dump it anywhere (although I suspect they will, anyway):

About 35,000 bags — or 250 tons — of oily trash have been carted away from this beach, said Lt. Patrick Hanley of the Coast Guard, who is stationed at Port Fourchon. And as of Monday, more than 175,000 gallons of liquid waste — a combination of oil and water — had been sent to landfills, as had 11,276 cubic yards of solid waste, said Petty Officer Gail Dale, also of the Coast Guard, who works with at the command center in Houma.

Jun 18 07:28

BP's next challenge: Disposal of tainted sludge (BP saying waste is not toxic)

Oil giant BP is facing a huge new challenge in disposing of the millions of gallons of potentially toxic oil sludge its crews are collecting from the Gulf of Mexico, according to industry experts and veterans of past spills.

Crews so far have skimmed and sucked up 21.1 million gallons of oil mixed with water, according to the Deepwater Horizon Unified Command. Because the out-of-control well may continue spewing for months, that total almost certainly will surge.

BP's plan for handling the gooey mess, written in conjunction with the Coast Guard, the Environmental Protection Agency and Louisiana officials, calls for reclaiming or recycling as much as possible.

Twenty-Two Reasons Why American Working People Hate the State

Why does the rightwing attack on “Big Government” increasingly resonate with working people?

Liberals claim wage and salaried workers are acting against their “self-interest”, citing government welfare programs like social security and unemployment payments. Progressives argue that workers hostile to the state are ‘racists”, “fundamentalists” and/or irrational, blinded by misplaced fears of threats to individual freedoms.

I will argue there are many sound, rational, material reasons for working people to be in revolt against the state.

Can Obama Shut Down the Internet?

A new bill rocketing through Congress would give the president sweeping powers to police the Web for national-security reasons. Could this be a way to block WikiLeaks?

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is an attack by the government on freedom of the press targeted specifically at the blogs and alternative media. The label "National Security", originally defined as militarily significant secrets, has grown to a wide brush used to block stories of war crimes and political corruption the public has both a right and a need to know.

This is the first stage of censorship and a cold wake-up call to the dictatorship that has emerged in our nation.

Israel Falling Short on the Gaza Blockade

The international community has been expected Israel to take steps to loosen the Gaza blockade ever since an attack on a flotilla resulted in the death of nine protestors.

The Israel response came today, and it wasn’t impressive.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As predicted, Israel announcement they would ease the blockade was mostly a hoax, intended to bluff other nations into canceling their plans for aid flotillas, and to hopefully allow the story of the attack on the previous aid flotilla in international waters to fade away. That of course did not work; the world has had way too much experience with Israel's behavior relative to Gaza in the past.

Stephen Lendman : End Gaza Siege

Resisting the Occupation and Siege
Millions worldwide demand it. So does the Arab League, according to an Al Jazeera June 13 report quoting Amr Moussa, Arab League secretary-general, saying:

“This blockade….must be lifted and must be broken and the Arab League decision is very clear in this regard.”

On June 13, Moussa commented after visiting Gaza for talks with Hamas Prime Minister, Ismail Haniyeh, Haaretz reporting he’s the highest Arab official to do so since Hamas’ 2006 election, after which an Israeli/West embargo followed, then the June 2007 siege.

Moussa entered through Rafah after Egypt reopened it following the Freedom Flotilla massacre, saying it will continue indefinitely.

Australian Parliament : Julia Irwin MP’s Adjournment debate speech and Minister Craig Emerson’s reply 16June10

Editors Note: Mrs Julia Irwin’s MP adjournment debate speech on 16th June, 2010 in the Australian Parliament and the Government minister Dr Craig Emerson’s shameful disassociation on behalf of the government at the conclusion of the adjournment debate.

If Craig Emerson’s comment reflects the Labor Party’s policy on this matter as Israel and its merciless treatment of the whole nation of Palestine is clearly reprehensible, then sadly the compromised parliamentarians both in Australia and in the US Congress is an indication that Israel has captured and is dictating the foreign policies of both countries and whereas one could once have expected an independent stance on matters of importance from Australia, such as the Middle East, this appears not to be the case.

Ellen Brown: Deficit Terrorists Strike in the United Kingdom: United States of America Next?

Unlike the EMU countries, the governments of England, the United States, and other sovereign nations can still borrow from their own central banks, funding much-needed programs essentially interest-free. They can but they probably won't, because they have been deceived into relinquishing that sovereign power to an overreaching financial sector bent on controlling the money systems of the world privately and autocratically. Professor Carroll Quigley, an insider groomed by the international bankers, revealed this plan in 1966, writing in Tragedy and Hope:

[T]he powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent private meetings and conferences.

Anti-Palestinism is Hate Speech

I bet you've never heard of anti-Palestinism? In Israel and the United States, defaming and delegitimizing the Palestinians is a national sport; but have you ever heard anybody complain about it? Why didn’t Americans get worked up when 1,400 Palestinians were incinerated with Israeli phosphorous bombs? Why did the murder of 300 children in last year’s assault not touch a nerve? Why did it take three long years and the slaughter of eight Turks and a Turkish-American citizen to notice that Israel has incarcerated 1.5 million Palestinians in a concentration camp?

U.S. defense chief asks Congress for war funding approval

U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates urged Congress on Wednesday to speed approval of the 33- billion-dollar supplemental war funding requested by President Barack Obama.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"We simply MUST defends the United States against all enemies that attack Americans. Well, okay, Iraq didn't actually attack us. Neither did Afghanistan come to think of it. Yemen? No> Somalia? No. Pakistan? No. Hmmm. Has anyone attacked us recently? I, I, I mean, besides Israel, of course!!! They are allowed to attack and kill Americans; a fine and noble tradition that goes back to the heroic Israeli attackers who almost sank the USS Liberty!"

And for the inevitable Israeli shills screaming, "What about 9-11?!? Iraq attacked the US on 9-11!!!!"...

Jun 17 20:56

For propaganda to work it has to be believable and I flat out do not believe these numbers.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Americans know we were lied to about Iraq's 'nookular' bombs. We are already stuck in wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, plus "actions" in Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia , who knows where else.

America has spent too much money and blood to be wiling to go to war and even if we were to go to war there is a stark reality that we all must face. Iran has not attacked and killed Americans in international waters.

Israel has.

When Japan attacked and killed Americans in 1941, for what seemed to the Japanese to be very good reasons, the President did not make excuses for the attacking nation and suggest we go attack Brazil instead. Roosevelt attacked the nation that attacked Americans.

Obama vows to enrich himself by forcing carbon bill passage

After oil spill, Obama vows to find votes for energy bill
Wed Jun 2, 4:13 pm
PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (AFP) – President Barack Obama Wednesday vowed to find the votes to pass a stalled energy bill, saying the Gulf of Mexico oil catastrophe showed the need to "aggressively" seek a clean energy future.
"The only way the transition to clean energy will succeed is if the private sector is fully invested in this future -- if capital comes off the sidelines and the ingenuity of our entrepreneurs is unleashed," he said.
"The only way to do that is by finally putting a price on carbon pollution," Obama said, noting that the House of Representatives had already passed a climate change bill, which had become stalled in the Senate.

Russia 'schizophrenic' on Iran: US defense chief

“And so you can imagine my dismay, Mr. Speaker, with the recent aggressive action by Turkey toward our most cherished ally, Israel. "

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Aggressive Action, Mr. Pence? Cookies? Candy? Potato chips?

Please remember that Japan was a "cherished ally" in early 1941. The US was selling the Japanese steel, railroads, weaponry; a large and vast trade that had been continuing since the days of Commodore Perry.

Yet when Japan decided that Americans were a threat to their illegal occupation of China and attacked Pearl Harbor, no Americans stood up to defend Japan's attack just because from Japan;s point of view, America might inter4fere with their illegal occupation of China. Nobody would have dared do so, because they would right have been denounced as a traitor!

Can you imagine President Roosevelt abandoning his "Day of Infamy" speech to rush over to the League of Nations and explain that it was a perfectly permissible for Japan to attack and kill Americans, because after all, Japan thought we might interfere with their illegal occupation of China?

Mr. Pence you are a traitor and unfit for office, as anyone who is more worried about those who attacked Americans in international waters than the Americans themselves is unfit for office.

No government can serve two masters, and a government that serves Israel cannot serve the American people. A friend to Israel is no friend of America.

America needs leaders who will put America first, second, and third.

Clearly, that is requirement of office you fail to meet.

Either stand with America, Congressman, or stand alone.

Please feel free to copy and paraphrase this comment everywhere a so-called American politician dares defend those who attacked Americans in international waters.

Screening of 'one-sided' Gaza flotilla film at UN spurs Israeli complaint

Israel on Thursday issued an official complaint against the president of the United Nations Correspondents Association for deliberately barring Israel from responding to the public screening of a documentary film on the events of the recent Gaza-bound aid flotilla, made by one of the activists.

The president of the UN Correspondents Association, Giampaolo Pioli, organized an event several days ago during which a documentary film by one of the Mavi Marmara activists was screened. New flotilla of Gaza aid planned

A coalition of pro-Palestinian groups has said it plans to send a second aid flotilla to Gaza, dismissing Israel's promise to ease its blockade as not bold enough and defying Israeli warnings against any new sea-based activist operation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem with Israel that despite the talk of easing the blockade, reports from Gaza is that nothing but a few token items such as mayonnaise are being let through. And any easing Israel does today can be revoked as soon as the eyes of the world turn away again. The fact is that Israel is on the defensive and has lost the initiative and now is the time for Israel to finally draw its borders and live within them as a modern civilized nation should. It is time for Palestine to have the same right to exist and to a state that Israel has. All other options are just delaying tactics.

Jailed for a poster

About 200 kilometres from where world leaders will soon gather, two London political activists spent the night in city police cells over posters inviting people to Toronto to protest the G8 and G20 summits.

Darius Mirshahi, 25, and Andrew Cadotte, 19, flashed a peace sign and stood on the courthouse steps moments after their releases Wednesday afternoon and ripped open the police-issued, clear plastic bags containing their personal effects.

As the wind whipped up and papers flew, defence lawyer Dale Ives cautioned them: "Don't let that blow away guys or they'll charge you with littering."

Strikes in China signal end to era of low-cost labour and cheap exports

The Chinese Communist party called on employers to raise salaries and improve training for workers today, as Toyota became the latest foreign firm to be hit by a wave of high-profile strikes.

According to labour activists, there have been numerous strikes in recent years, though few get reported in the media. Chang Kai, professor of labour relations and law at Renmin University, said the number had increased by 30% per year.

Their impact has grown as the "one-child" family planning policy starts to thin the bulge in the working-age population. This demographic change in the balance of labour supply and demand has added to improved worker organisation and greater activism at high-profile foreign firms.

Did the BP Oil Well Really Blow Out in February, Instead of April?

It took 10 days to plug the first cracks, according to reports BP filed with the Minerals Management Service that were later delivered to congressional investigators. Cracks in the surrounding rock continued to complicate the drilling operation during the ensuing weeks. Left unsealed, they can allow explosive natural gas to rush up the shaft.

“Once they realized they had oil down there, all the decisions they made were designed to get that oil at the lowest cost,” said Peter Galvin of the Center for Biological Diversity, which has been working with congressional investigators probing the disaster. “It’s been a doomed voyage from the beginning.”

More Than 90 Banks Miss TARP Payments

More than 90 U.S. banks and thrifts missed making a May 17 payment to the U.S. government under its main bank bailout program, signaling a rising number of lenders are struggling to meet their obligations.

The SNL Financial statistics show 91 banks missed their dividend payment under the Troubled Asset Relief Program.
The statistics, compiled by SNL Financial from U.S. Treasury data, showed 91 banks and thrifts skipped the May dividend payment under the Troubled Asset Relief Program, or TARP. It was the first missed payment for 23 of the banks; for the others, it was at least their second miss.

The number of banks missing their TARP payments rose for the third straight quarter. In February, 74 banks deferred their payments; 55 deferred last November.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a really nasty harbinger of things to come for this country financially.

And apparently, neither President Obama nor Vice-President Biden got the memo on this. Because, as reported at:

"OBAMA, BIDEN DECLARE “RECOVERY SUMMER”: Vice President Biden today will kick off “Recovery Summer,” a six-week-long push designed to highlight the jobs accompanying a surge in stimulus-funded projects to improve highways, parks, drinking water and other public works"

This news about missed TARP payments, coupled with the spike in jobless claims, and Obama and Biden are proclaiming this the "Recovery Summer"?!?

Are they completely, utterly barking mad?!?!?

Smuggled video shows Israeli snipers aiming, firing at Gaza Flotilla activists

And the Gods Laughed

The ruling class, with the indispensable assistance of the media, including many blogs (both left and right), need only convince Americans of the "seriousness" of the danger those "Others" represent, and the next chapter in the neverending war will commence in earnest. Iran in particular is endlessly useful in this connection.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The drumbeats for a war against Iran are beating ever more loudly, particularly with the passage of sanctions against it, and formal sanctions probably coming from the EU either today or tomorrow.

With the two catastrophic wars going on in Iraq and Afghanistan, a third war will break and bankrupt this country, not to mention that should a war against Iran break out, China and Russia may well come to its aid militarily.

Eyewitness to the Israeli Assault on the Mavi Marmara

A soft-spoken teacher and former civilian engineer with the Canadian Department of Defense, Neish realized then that a video taken by an Arab TV cameraman in the midst of the Israeli assault on the Freedom Flotilla to Gaza of him flipping through a booklet had been transmitted before the Israelis blocked all electronic signals from the flotilla. The booklet had pictures and profiles of all the passengers, and he'd found it in the backpack of an Israeli Defense Force commando.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This man is telling the truth: the Israeli government is pathologically incapable of telling the truth, when the truth does any kind of disservice to its image or agenda.

This is why the whole notion of an Israeli inquiry into the flotilla massacre is so completely ludicrous.

Secret Prisons and Torture to Continue under Obama

According to a Los Angeles Times report, a senior U.S. official stated the Obama administration wants to detain and interrogate non-Afghan terrorism suspects captured in countries outside Afghanistan in a section of the Bagram prison, even after it turns the prison over to Afghan "control."

This is consistent with Obama’s record of continuing and expanding the national security state begun by the Bush regime. Bagram is one of the pre-eminent hellhole prisons currently run by the U.S. military. In many respects it is even worse than Gitmo, with torture and death being the result for many prisoners detained there.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As reported at on 21 May 2009 at:

Obama: 'We Do Not Torture'
Speaking today at the National Archives, President Obama said that the United States “went off course” in fighting terrorism during the Bush administration and that his new policies will “better protect” the country. Waterboarding and other harsh techniques, Obama argued, "did not advance our war and counter-terrorism efforts–they undermined them." He also defended his decision to close Guantanamo Bay. Rather than keep us safer, the prison at Guantanamo has weakened American national security," Obama said. "It is a rallying cry for our enemies. It sets back the willingness of our allies to work with us in fighting an enemy that operates in scores of countries. By any measure, the costs of keeping it open far exceed the complications involved in closing it.”

Looks like that was just another grand declaration on Bushbama's part that's been flushed down the toilet with the expansion of US overseen indefinite detention and torture at Bagram.

A Zionist State of Mind, A Dreamscape Of Ghosts

Although my mother fled Nazi Germany, as a child, on a Kindertransport, with a few family valuables sown into her clothing, and I was brought up on the myths and hagiography of the Zionist state, I, over time, came to recognize the folly of the whole colonialist enterprise — the folly of ethnic exclusion and expulsion, the inherent tragedy of nationalism based on the delusion of religious birthright. With much sorrow, I came to the sad realization that the dream of the State of Israel was based on European chauvinism and exceptionalism. This reckoning has been a difficult one for me to bear -- the hardest awakening of my adult life.

Webmaster's Commentary:

PMO announces plan to ease Gaza siege, but no such decision made

The Prime Minister's Office announced on Thursday that the security cabinet had agreed to relax Israel's blockade on the Gaza Strip, but as it turns out, no binding decision was ever made during the cabinet meeting.

The Prime Minister's Office issued a press release in English following the meeting, which was also sent to foreign diplomats, was substantially different than the Hebrew announcement – according to the English text, a decision was made to ease the blockade, but in the Hebrew text there was no mention of any such decision.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is why the humanitarian aid flotillas must keep on coming, because the Israeli government will not lift the siege of Gaza of its own accord.

These statements were given merely to "buy time" to extend the siege, not to really ease or end the siege.

Embargoes and Blockades used as a Method of Warfare

Comparing the blockade of Gaza, by Israel, with that of Iraq, similarities are chillingly stark. Iraq, seventy percent reliant on imports from fertilizer to pharmaceuticals, building materials, to medical maintenance, was bombed back "to a pre-industrial age" in 1991. All wherewithal, for not alone rebuilding was denied, but foods, soft drinks, paper, books, newspapers, toiletries, pens, pencils, blackboards, toys, musical instruments, sheet music, trade and professional literature (including the New England Journal of Medicine and the Lancet) ping pong balls. Items hardly "dual use" to morph in to weapons of mass destruction - or even play yard destruction.

The War on Afghanistan is a Profit driven "Resource War".

The war on Afghanistan is a profit driven "resource war".

Under US and allied occupation, this mineral wealth is slated to be plundered, once the country has been pacified, by a handful of multinational mining conglomerates. According to Olga Borisova, writing in the months following the October 2001 invasion, the US-led "war on terrorism [will be transformed] into a colonial policy of influencing a fabulously wealthy country." (Borisova, op cit).

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, that's what our kids are fighting, getting maimed, and dying for in Afghanistan: the potential profits to be realized from oil, minerals, and drugs.

Canada: Israel's new defender

At a time when many countries are becoming more critical of Israel's policies, Canada seems to be moving in the opposite direction. A general reluctance to engage in open debate about the Palestinian issue is exacerbated by pro-Israel groups' efforts to shut down discussion and the federal government's unprecedented penchant for defending Israeli actions.

Since the beginning of 2010, the federal government has systematically cut funding to Arab-Canadian organisations and to UN relief works in Gaza. In March, the Ontario provincial legislature issued a unanimous condemnation of Israeli Apartheid Week, while the federal government considered introducing a similar motion.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to our friends up North: your government has been hijacked by a foreign government (read: Israel, just as has happened here in the US)and such a government will not put the interests of Canadians first, second, and third.

In fact, that country's agenda may be very harmful to the welfare of Canada's future.

I would suggest, then, that the next time Parliamentary elections are held, that you throw out every single Israeli-firster and replace them with someone who is not, just as we need to to in our upcoming elections here in the US.

This hijacking of our govenments - and putting a stop to it - is literally a matter of life and death for both countries.

Climate junk hard to dump

The past six months has seen a series of unprecedented setbacks for the cause of catastrophic man-made climate change: the collapse of the Kyoto process; the release of incriminating Climategate emails; the discovery of the shoddy standards of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC); the mounting evidence that a job-creating green industrial revolution is a fantasy; and the growing suspicion by the public that it has been sold a bill of goods.

The British Royal Society recently released a statement that "Any public perception that the science is somehow fully settled is wholly incorrect," thus contradicting its own former president, and true believer, Lord May. And if the science isn't settled, there can hardly ever have been "consensus" on the issue.

'US conduct can elicit public revolt'

"If the US offered its citizens the right to freedom of information on world affairs, so that the American people could be fully informed of their leaders' support for Israeli atrocities as well as the crimes they have committed in Iraq and Afghanistan, the people would take effective measure against their statesmen," the Iranian president said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A short memo to Iranian President Ahmedinejad: we, at least for the moment, do have a mechanism for taking "...effective measure" against the government. It's called an election.

And in the upcoming election in November, it is my most dearly held wish that every incumbent be thrown out of office, and that no "Israel-firsters" are voted in to replace them.

Israel has been, and continues to be, a millstone hanging on the necks of the US government, and Israel's agenda is not that which is best for the citizens of the US.

In fact, the agenda of the current Israeli leadership is to push the US as hard as it can toward a new war in the Middle East, again (as was the case with Iraq), to "neutralize" yet another one of Israel's existential threats in the region for it, that being Iran.

We need politicians who put America first, second, and third, period, end of discussion.

Considering how catastrophically badly things are going in Afghanistan and Iraq, a new war, with all its costs in blood and money, is absolutely the last thing this country needs right now.

Syria: Israel raid on Gaza flotilla raises risk of Mideast war

Syrian President Bashar Assad said Thursday that Israel is being run by a "pyromaniac government", warning that its raid on a humanitarian aid flotilla bound for the Gaza Strip had increased the risks of war in the region.

The Israeli commando attack on a flotilla in which nine pro-Palestinian Turkish activists were killed had "destroyed any chance for peace in the near future", Assad told the BBC in a television interview aired on Thursday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Note that Haaretz deliberately sidesteps the fact that one of the assassinated was an American of Turkish descent, Furkan Dogan, a 19 year old kid who should have had his whole life ahead of him.

Please, remember that name.

Unfortunately, Syrian President Assad is absolutely right in his characterization of the current Israeli leadership. And under Netanyahu's watch, a regional war - into which the US cannot help but be dragged in - will most likely spark a global war.

That war appears to be Netanyahu's agenda, and this is why every Israel-firster in the US Congress needs to be replaced as soon as humanly possible.

US lawmakers blast 'disgraceful' Turkey over Iran, Israel

US lawmakers slammed "disgraceful" Turkey on Wednesday over its ties to Iran and charged Ankara had the "blood" of nine Turks killed in an Israeli raid on a Gaza-bound aid ship on its hands.

"There will be a cost if Turkey stays on its present heading of growing closer to Iran and more antagonistic to the state of Israel," warned Representative Mike Pence, the number three House Republican.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please remember; Turkey's government, working in concert with that of Brazil, hammered out a nuclear materials swap with Iran, which was totally acceptable to Iran. Edrogan and Lula were behaving like true adults here in the world of geopolitics.

The US, Israel, and the UN ignored this totally, as though it had never happened.

Also, please remember: the Israeli Navy hijacked both a Turkish and American flagged vessel on the high seas, assassinating 9 unarmed humanitarian aid workers, including one American kid of Turkish descent.

And to all living in the congressional districts allegedly represented by Peter King, Mike Pence, and Eliot Engel: please throw these Israeli-firsters out of Congress at the next possible election.

These men are putting the interests of the dictates of a foreign government (read: Israel) ahead of yours and ahead of the needs of this Republic.

This cannot be allowed to stand.

Israel fears Lebanese ‘fast’ flotilla

While the IDF continued Wednesday to track the Iranian ships en route to the Gaza Strip, the Navy was put on high alert amid fears that another flotilla would be launched from Lebanon, leaving – due to the short distance – little time to stop it.

“There is not a lot of time to stop fast ships that come from Lebanon,” an IDF officer explained, “Practically, it means that the Navy has to be on high alert around the clock.”

The Navy will likely first try to stop the ships by calling on them to stop at sea and far from the Gaza coast.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So apparently, having learned nothing from the flotilla massacre, the Israeli Navy is contemplating another hijacking of an unarmed aid ship in international waters?

Unflipping believable.

Israel Warns Lebanese, Iranian Activists against Sending Ships to Gaza

Israel has warned both Lebanese and Iranian organizers against sending aid ships to the besieged Gaza Strip.
Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor said attempts by Lebanese and Iranian activists to break the blockade of Gaza "would be seen not just as a provocation and a breach of law, but as a hostile act because the ships and their cargo are from enemy states."

"They are coming from an enemy state and it means that, of course, the treatment is different, because legally they are different," Palmor warned.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ahmedinejad has played this sending of aid to Gaza masterfully.

Because if Israel starts shooting an an unarmed humanitarian aid ship and starts a war, it will be remembered that Israel was the aggressor, not that Iran is accused of having a nuclear weapons program.

In that scenario, Iran has the moral high ground, period, end of discussion.

China's US govt debt holdings hit 2010 high: Treasury

China's holdings of US debt climbed to the highest level this year, the US Treasury said Tuesday even as Beijing stepped up attacks on the United States for its burgeoning debt.

The cash-rich Chinese government raised its US Treasury bond holdings to 900.2 billion dollars in April, its highest level since November 2009, while posting the second consecutive monthly rise, according to a report on international capital flows.

China, the world's largest holder of foreign-exchange reserves, has been constantly criticizing Washington for its snowballing debt levels, fearing that Beijing's investment in US government bonds could turn sour if a debt crisis overwhelms America.

Top Ten Myths about the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

The fact that this term is used exclusively with regard to Israel is instructive as to its legitimacy, as is the fact that the demand is placed upon Palestinians to recognize Israel’s “right to exist”, while no similar demand is placed upon Israelis to recognize the “right to exist” of a Palestinian state.

Nations don’t have rights, people do. The proper framework for discussion is within that of the right of all peoples to self-determination. Seen in this, the proper framework, it is an elementary observation that it is not the Arabs which have denied Jews that right, but the Jews which have denied that right to the Arabs. The terminology of Israel’s “right to exist” is constantly employed to obfuscate that fact.

Mexico Launching Global PR Campaign To Erase Drug War Image

Mexican President Felipe Calderon is launching a global public relations campaign to try to improve his country's image and neutralise coverage of the violent drug war scaring away tourists and foreign investors.

Calderon declared all-out war on drug cartels on taking office in late 2006, sending thousands of troops and federal police across Mexico to take on the heavily armed gangs running a multibillion dollar business.

After an Israeli attack on a Gaza-bound flotilla that left nine Turkish citizens dead, Ankara has introduced a roadmap to "completely" cut its ties with Israel.

After Israel failed to apologize or pay compensations for the killing of the Turkish citizens in its attack on the Mavi Marmara on May 31, Turkish Defense Industry Implementation Committee (SSIK) reviewed the country's military agreements and joint projects with Israel on Thursday...

FLASHBACK - Those who want to bump off the witnesses of the slaughter

The criminal website http://stoptheism.com/ invites people to kill the few volunteers who are providing health treatment in Gaza under Israeli bombs.

They are Americans, Spaniards, Australians, Italians and other volunteers who report us what news they can about the real impact of the Israeli aggression in Gaza. Amongst them there is Vittorio Arrigoni, human rights activist.

What we have here is pure incitement to killing, furnished also with the photos of those “wanted”. It’s really inconceivable that the site is still online. We demand that the Italian Government and Foreign Office take steps right now to call for it to be immediately closed and to bring those responsible to court.

US, Europe tighten screws on Iran nuclear program

The Obama administration added Iranian individuals and firms to a blacklist, as the United States and Europe tighten the screws on Iran's nuclear program a week after the UN imposed new sanctions.

During a summit Thursday in Brussels, European Union (EU) leaders are expected to approve their bloc's curbs on investment as well as transfers of technology, equipment and services in Iran's oil and gas industry.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These sanctions are the last step before a war against Iran which will almost inevitably follow.

The only questions is, when.

'Even despots, gangsters and pirates have specific sensitiveness, (and) follow some specific morals.'

US jobless claims in surprise rise

New claims for jobless insurance benefits in the United States rose unexpectedly for the second straight week, the government said Thursday on concerns unemployment may derail the economic recovery.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There is no economic recovery, except for the very large banks, defense contractors, and Goldman Sachs!

The private sector is frozen solid, and job outsourcing continues at a frenetic pace.

Under these circumstances, the rise in US jobless claims cannot possibly be characterized as a "surprise".

US envoy vows solidarity with S.Korea over warship

The United States Thursday pledged solidarity with South Korea in its bid to censure North Korea for the sinking of a warship, with a senior envoy urging the world to take a strong stance.

Assistant Secretary of State Kurt Campbell was visiting Seoul days after the North threatened military action in response to any United Nations condemnation over the deadly sinking of the Cheonan in March.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Without China on board, there is absolutely nothing the US can do to ratchet down tensions between the North and South Korean countries, if that is actually what is intended by the US.

China can - and most likely will - veto any UN Security Council resolution against North Korea.

BP chairman says company cares about ‘the small people’

Obama said he had urged the BP bosses to remember when they were meeting in the boardroom to "keep in mind those individuals, that they are desperate, may lose business that have been in their families for two or three generations."

Svanberg agreed, saying: "We care about the small people."

Fueling War: Pentagon Still Buying Most of Its Oil and Gas from BP

BP holds more than $2 billion in annual US defense contracts and continues to be the premiere provider of fuel to the world's largest consumer of oil and gas: the Pentagon. Attorney General Eric Holder said he is conducting both criminal and civil probes into BP's actions in the US Gulf.

A grandmother has been jailed for five years for possessing a "family heirloom" World War II pistol.

Gail Cochrane, 53, had kept the gun for 29 years following the death of her father, who had been in the Royal Navy.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As a side note, since Great Britain passed their draconian guns laws and started locking people up for keeping antiques, crime in Great Britain has actually increased dramatically (which is consistent with the results of gun bans everywhere). But Britain has kept their gun ban in place on the excuse that the Brits can be told they are much safer with the gun ban in place.

Patience is urged in Afghanistan

Senior Pentagon officials urged patience Wednesday as U.S. troops begin operations to stabilize the southern Afghan city of Kandahar, and Gen. David Petraeus, the commander of U.S. forces in the Mideast, returned to Capitol Hill to offer a full-throated endorsement of President Obama's order to pull out of Afghanistan starting next summer

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to Admiral Mullen and President Obama: the American people have absolutely lost their patience this immoral and illegal war.

We have collectively experienced that moment of clarity where we understand fully that the US is not at all involved in an alleged "war on terror"; we are involved in a war against people who are either cursed by living over resources the US government considers theirs, or on transit routes to and from resources the US government considers theirs, as is the case in Afghanistan.

I would like to point out that, nearly 9 years on, the US military is no closer to "pacifying" Afghanistan to the point where the oil pipelines can be installed with which to control Eurasian oil than we were at the beginning of the process.

Karzai is talking reconciliation with the Taliban as the only way forward here, and (thug that he is) he has the intelligence to understand that. The Taliban want the US and NATO out of Afghanistan immediately.

This means that the US and NATO will most likely need to withdraw from Afghanistan far sooner than they want to; and for all the blood and money spent, the US is no closer to the installation of those pipelines than was the Bush administration in August of 2001, when it was negotiating with the Taliban for the pipeline rights.

Our brave young men and women who have fighting, getting maimed for life, and dying in Afghanistan, have not been fighting for the security of the United States: they have been fighting, getting maimed, and dying for the potential private profit coming from drugs and oil.

"The War is Worth Waging": Afghanistan's Vast Reserves of Minerals and Natural Gas

The 2001 bombing and invasion of Afghanistan has been presented to World public opinion as a "Just War", a war directed against the Taliban and Al Qaeda, a war to eliminate "Islamic terrorism" and instate Western style democracy.

The economic dimensions of the "Global War on Terrorism" (GWOT) are rarely mentioned. The post 9/11 "counter-terrorism campaign" has served to obfuscate the real objectives of the US-NATO war.

The war on Afghanistan is part of a profit driven agenda: a war of economic conquest and plunder, "a resource war".

Attempting to silence humanitarian groups supporting Gazans by the Congress Israel's supporters.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We are heading to a time in which the world will be bi-polar with the US and Israel isolated and the rest of the world united against us. Israel is in the wrong, the entire world sees that, and as long as the US Government continues to protect and defend Israel, even when it attacks Americans, the rest of the world will see the US as equally wrong.

License To Drill

At his long-awaited press conference on the Gulf oil disaster last month, President Obama announced a moratorium on new oil drilling and exploration for six months. "We can't do this stuff if we don't have confidence that we can prevent crises like this from happening again," he declared. But while existing rigs may be out of commission for the near future, the administration hasn't exactly put the brakes on new oil and gas drilling ventures. In recent weeks, the government has quietly approved the sale of more than 400 new leases for vast swaths of the Gulf of Mexico. And these contracts—which mark the first step in the drilling process—were subjected to the same slapdash environmental oversight that failed to prevent the BP catastrophe.

‘Anti-Semitism’ Charges Unleashed: Don’t Mention the Mavi Marmara

Since Israel’s May 31 attack on the Mavi Marmara aid ship, there has been growing criticism of Israel’s behavior across much of the world, including from traditional allies like Turkey.

Yet as this criticism has grown abroad, the pressure for Israel’s public to toe the official line on the story (whatever it may be at any given time) has also grown, and in the West there is an increasingly visible effort to lionize the Israeli attack and do demonize even perceived criticism of the Israeli government as “anti-semitism.”

In both instances, we are looking at staged events that fit into a recurrent pattern in U.S. and world history where innocent individuals (or “patsies”) are baited and framed for cover-up purposes. Professor James H. Fetzer, an expert in the scientific study of assassinations, provides a sketch of how we know what happened to them and why, where RFK’s assassination was in part intended to prevent a reinvestigation into his brother’s death.

Sea creatures flee oil spill, gather near shore

Dolphins and sharks are showing up in surprisingly shallow water just off the Florida coast. Mullets, crabs, rays and small fish congregate by the thousands off an Alabama pier. Birds covered in oil are crawling deep into marshes, never to be seen again.

Marine scientists studying the effects of the BP disaster are seeing some strange — and troubling — phenomena.

Fish and other wildlife are fleeing the oil out in the Gulf and clustering in cleaner waters along the coast. But that is not the hopeful sign it might appear to be, researchers say.

The animals' presence close to shore means their usual habitat is badly polluted, and the crowding could result in mass die-offs as fish run out of oxygen.

Is Benjamin Netanyahu Rational?

A keen observer of the Netanyahu behavior might well detect a suicidal tendency, perhaps tied in some way to the well known Israeli Masada complex. Masada was the first century A.D. site of the suicide of nearly one thousand Israelite zealots who refused to surrender to the Roman army. More recently, in 1991 investigative journalist Seymour Hersh reported on the modern version of Masada called the Samson Option, in which Israel was planning to use nuclear weapons to destroy most of the Middle East if it were in danger of being overrun. Today hardliners have similarly warned that if Israel is threatened with destruction it will take the whole Mideast region down with it and possibly also nuke selected European capitals.

White House Correspondent Helen Thomas—A Casualty of Zionist Duplicity

By James M. Rockefeller

Zionist operatives ambushed veteran White House correspondent Helen Thomas, a friend and a great American. When they won, America lost.

When reviewing the unedited video of her “interview,” what you see is a rabbi rephrasing her answers to a question about Israel. Her response: “They should get the hell out of Palestine.“ The United Nations long ago endorsed that stance.

It was not Thomas but the rabbi that offended the Jewish community. Language cited as “anti-Semitic” came not from her but from responses that the rabbi restated as leading questions. She simply spoke the truth: Jewish settlers should leave the occupied territories and, as she rightly said: “go home.”

The BP Gulf Oil Disaster: New Facts Diabolical

That the current oil spill could be stopped within 72 hours under an executive order from the White House to the US Navy, at any time.Who will broker all the cap-and-trade certificates to keep American companies in legal compliance ~ why the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX), of course. And who will ultimately pay all the costs ~ US consumers and taxpayers as higher prices are passed along. And who are the major stockholders who stand to transition from stockholder losers to massive windfall winners as CCX stockholders, or those who own stocks in other companies that own CCX stocks?

The Foreign Corporate Take-Over of Icelandic Resources

Lies, lies, lies, lies, lies, lies, lies
...Eight months later, on May 5, 2010, Ross Beaty told online investment newsletter Hera Research Monthly “We would have been farther along had [the global economic crisis] not happened, although we may not have had opportunities that we took advantage of. For example, going into Iceland was strictly something that could only have happened because Iceland had a calamitous financial meltdown in 2008.”...

Barak: Israel needs 'daring initiative' to thwart international isolation

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Have our guys in Gaza fling a couple bottle rockets into an empty field on our side of the wall. No, wait; that hasn't worked since CAST LEAD. What to do, what to do? I know! We'll knock over another big building in the USA, and blame Arabs for it! Worked before. The goyim will fall for that one again and again and again and again!"

We'll Break Gaza Siege by Air; Revive Right of Return From Ben Gurion's Airport

Larudee says that plans have been set to break the siege of Gaza by air and announces a new undaunted strategy to press the right of return of Palestinians back to the forefront of events.

Paul Larudee is an American citizen whose visit to Jordan back in 1965 was his first close acquaintance – from a different angle - with what was happening in Palestine. He got engaged with the cause ever since and gradually learned the price that he, and his peers, would have to pay for defying Israel and defending the rights of the Palestinians.

Israeli gas boom could ignite trouble

Israel's natural gas bonanza in the eastern Mediterranean just keep getting bigger, with reserves currently pegged at around 25 trillion cubic feet.

That's enough to guarantee the Jewish state, dependent on imported energy since it was founded in 1948, energy security for at least two decades.

The strikes at three fields, dubbed Tamar, Dalat and Leviathan, could even turn Israel into a gas exporter and transform its economy. There are indications that there's oil down there as well.

But the offshore finds may become a casus belli as Lebanon, Israel's northern neighbor and longtime battleground, lays claim to the gas fields as well.

'Gaza Blockade Must Go'

Following Israel’s deadly assault on the Free Gaza (FG) flotilla several weeks ago in international waters, during which nine activists were shot dead and dozens wounded, as the flotilla tried to deliver desperately needed humanitarian aid to the besieged strip, Israeli authorities came under enormous pressure to lift the blockade.

Israeli Discrimination: Beyond Borders

To put it in a nutshell, I cannot leave the country with my two children – aged 10 and 7 – from the same borders. As crazy as this sounds, it is true, courtesy of Israel's complicated and discriminatory system of ID cards among Palestinians. I am one of thousands of people who fall between the cracks – stuck between two oppressive Israeli sets of restrictions for travelling Palestinians, the result of which is that mother and children cannot travel together across Israeli borders.

The racist system of segregation Israel has imposed upon Palestinians living under its occupation has been allowed to continue unabated. Freedom of movement, democracy and family unity are principles that Israel may very well embrace, at least for Jewish Israelis. Such things are obviously not for us.

Prudhoe Bay, BP's Other Ticking Bomb

Nearly 5,000 miles from the oil-spill catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico, BP and its culture of cost-cutting are contributing to another environmental mess in the Prudhoe Bay oil field on Alaska’s north shore, according to internal BP documents and more than a dozen employees interviewed over the past month.

After two serious oil spills and other mishaps at the remote site, the BP employees fingered a long list of safety issues that have not been adequately addressed, making the Prudhoe Bay oilfield vulnerable to a devastating accident that potentially could rival the havoc in the Gulf.
