As US-Russia Tensions Rise, 1987 Nuke Treaty in Jeopardy

Over the weekend, Russia responded to the latest of what’s literally been some 4-5 years of US allegations over that test by again reiterating that they don’t see a violation, and that they are committed to the treaty.

But US-Russia tensions have gotten progressively worse through that 4-5 year span, which has turned “questions” about a possible technical violation into increasingly shrill US claims that Russia is “violating the treaty,” and threatening to withdraw from it.

In practice, the treaty is a relatively minor one among nuclear treaties, and one that officials likely believe they risk for the sake of picking more diplomatic fights with Russia. The risk, however, is that ditching this treaty will lead to the ditching of others, a partial concern given the recent US hostility toward anti-nuclear deals

Researchers may have found a link between Alzheimer’s disease and a common class of herbicides

Researchers from France have uncovered what just might be one of the most overlooked causes of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia that most people have probably never even considered: Crop chemicals.

A recent paper published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease takes a closer look at this apparent connection, revealing that a class of herbicides known as triazines appear to increase the body’s production of two amyloid peptides associated with brain degeneration.

These peptides are known as A?42 and A?40, respectively, and Laurent Meijer from ManRos Therapeutics in Roscoff, France, says they’re part of what’s known as the “human chemical exposome,” or HCE – a grouping of more than 85,000 chemical compounds that are known to damage human health.

US Pushes Diplomatic Isolation for North Korea, Despite Being ‘Open to Talks’

US officials, led by Ambassador Nikki Haley, have been making the rounds worldwide pushing for all nations to sever diplomatic ties with North Korea. This further undermines the US claims of being open to talks, but it’s also not clear what they expect to accomplish.

Since the US has no direct diplomatic ties with North Korea themselves, any diplomatic efforts require some intermediary. Yet if the US got its way, and everyone cuts off North Korea ties, there are no such intermediaries.

In practice, the US doesn’t expect this to be a successful push. Officials suggest that North Korea takes its international standing very seriously, and even a little bit of diplomatic harm would greatly embarrass them, however.

Plus it’s not like the US has a lot of “non-war” options left for things to do to North Korea. The nation doesn’t trade with much of anybody, except for China and Russia, and the US doesn’t have any real chance of cutting off either of those partners.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There are very few diplomatic overtures the US can take, other than negotiating with them while they are still in the process of creating their nuclear deterrent.

And Trump, Tillerson, and Hailey have uniformly stated that will not happen, even if pigs discover they are aerodynamic.

So what are the odds of averting a war with North Korea, because the US government has boxed itself in by not allowing more room for diplomatic maneuvers?!?

Unfortunately, although I hope to hell I am wrong, not great, at this moment.

You have to understand: the Elites need a war, and soon, to attempt to "misdirect" the American public's anger away from the coming economic crash which will hit all sectors of the economy.

TRUMP'S JERUSALEM DECLARATION SPARKS TALK OF 3RD TEMPLE

While Muslims jeer, Israelis cheer President Trump’s Jerusalem declaration, prompting Jewish religious activists to suggest building the Third Temple is closer to reality than ever before.

“What he did … was an enormous step in bringing the Temple,” said Asaf Fried, official spokesman for the United Temple Movement, an association of organizations working towards making the Third Temple a reality.

He added, “This necessarily had to come from a non-Jew in order to bring them into the process, so they will be able to take their part in the Temple.”

Fried sees Trump’s role similar to the one played by Cyrus, the Persian king who ended the Babylonian exile and helped build the Second Jewish Temple.

“There have been amazing advances towards bringing the Temple this year. It was clear that Trump was part of that process, guided by Hashem (God),” Fried declared.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I was very fearful of this movement gaining ground, after President Trump's announcement that the US recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

What really concerns me, should this start to happen, is the fate of the Al Aqsa Mosque, which has existed on this site for centuries, as described in an article from Darmouth University:

The current Al-Aqsa Mosque is built upon the spot the Rashidun and Umayyads believed Muhammad ascended, whereas other scholars believe Muhammad ascended upon the Foundation Stone, now housed inside the Dome of the Rock. Regardless, the importance of the Night Journey in Islamic tradition and its setting within the Temple Mount compound has made Jerusalem the third holiest city in Islam, following Mecca and Medina.

Should any attempt be made to displace one stone in its construction, all hell will break loose in the region.

President Trump's announcement may well have emboldened Netanyahu toward such an act. He is hubristic enough to want to send the IDF to gain control of this shrine, and bring it down with a controlled demolition; whether he's insane enough to do this... may be another matter entirely.

EU rejects recognising of al-Quds as Israeli capital

Mogherini has joined many EU leaders in expressing disapproval of the U.S. decision to recognize al-Quds as Israel's capital. She said during a joint media address Monday that "the only realistic solution to the conflict between Israel and Palestine is based on two states with Jerusalem (al-Quds) as the capital of both."

Netanyahu insisted that what U.S. President Donald Trump did was "put facts squarely on the table. Peace is based on reality."

He said the reality of seeing al-Quds as Israel's capital "doesn't obviate peace, it makes peace possible."

U.S. media silent as Putin declares Russia GMO-free as they prepare to become top producer of organic food

On the one hand, Russia is the largest producer of asbestos in the world (they even named the town where the mine is, after the toxin) and on the other hand, Putin has moved them toward becoming the biggest producer of organic food in the world. We live in a strange world.

Apparently, the leader of Russia spent years analyzing the dangers of GMO’s and decided they were going to go a different way: small, private rural gardens make up a large part of Russia’s agricultural system with about 40 percent of all vegetable and fruit crops coming from that sector. And so, in an attempt to provide exclusively organic food for itself (and other nations in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia) the Kremlin has been giving away free land to farmers or gardeners who pledge to produce only organic fruits and veggies.

For them, it works. It could work here too but, can you imagine that happening? Me either.

Putin always seems to be a million chess moves ahead of the US, and has been very good for the Russian people.

Fusion GPS tried to tie Trump to Clinton’s pedophile pal Epstein as part of smear campaign

Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm whose Democrat-financed Russia dossier fueled an FBI investigation into Donald Trump, pitched other stories about the Republican presidential candidate to Washington reporters, including an attempt to tie him to a convicted pedophile who was once buddies with former President Bill Clinton.

Journalist sources told The Washington Times that Fusion founder Glenn Simpson pushed the idea of a close relationship between Mr. Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, who pleaded guilty in 2008 to soliciting sex from an underage girl.

The Trump-Epstein link appears purely social, far short of Mr. Clinton’s 20-plus plane rides on Epstein’s “Lolita Express” private jet around the globe in the early 2000s.

CIA ‘Mistakenly’ Destroys Copy Of 6,700-Page US Torture Report

The CIA inspector general’s office has said it “mistakenly” destroyed its only copy of a comprehensive Senate torture report, despite lawyers for the Justice Department assuring a federal judge that copies of the documents were being preserved.

The erasure of the document by the spy agency’s internal watchdog was deemed an “inadvertent” foul-up by the inspector general, according to Yahoo News.

One intelligence community source told Yahoo News, which first reported the development, that last summer CIA inspector general officials deleted an uploaded computer file with the report and then accidentally destroyed a disk that also contained the document.

A NEW STEALTH ATTACK IN EU’S “WAR ON CASH”

The EU’s Orwellian-dubbed Civil Liberties and Economic Affairs committee has approved tough new rules on cash that travelers might bring into or take out of the bloc. It’s also broadened the definition of cash to include precious stones and metals and prepaid credit cards.
For the moment the new definition does not include Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, for one simple reason: “customs authorities lack the resources to monitor them.”

Most importantly, the draft law will enable authorities to impound “cash” below the traditional €10,000 threshold, if criminal activity is suspected. The new rules would repeal the First Cash Control Regulation (CCR) from 2005, which requires individuals to declare sums over €10,000 when leaving or entering the EU.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Again, the EU's plans to ban cash transactions have utterly zero relationship to justice, to the average person, who may be involved in a "cash and carry" business; it never touches those with armies of accountants and lawyers on speed dial, who can help them "disguise" their wealth by other means.

Almost eighteen months after Obama’s Justice Department and the FBI launched the Russiagate investigation, and seven months after Special Counsel Robert Mueller took the investigation over, the sum total of what it has achieved is as follows:

(1) an indictment of Paul Manafort and Rick Gates which concerns entirely their prior financial dealings, and which makes no reference to the Russiagate collusion allegations;

(2) an indictment for lying to the FBI of George Papadopoulos, the junior volunteer staffer of the Trump campaign, who during the 2016 Presidential election had certain contacts with members of a Moscow based Russian NGO, which he sought to pass off – falsely and unsuccessfully – as more important than they really were, and which also does not touch on the Russiagate collusion allegations; and

BITCOIN VS FIAT CURRENCY: WHICH FAILS FIRST?

I am struck by the mainstream confidence that bitcoin is a fraud/fad that will soon collapse, while central bank fiat currencies are presumed to be rock-solid and without risk. Those with supreme confidence in fiat currencies might want to look at a chart of Venezuela's fiat currency, which has declined from 10 to the US dollar in 2012 to 5,000 to the USD earlier this year to a current value in December 2017 of between 90,000 and 100,000 to $1:

On 1 December, the bolivar traded in the parallel market at 103,024 VED per USD, a stunning 59.9% depreciation from the same day last month.

Analysts participating in the LatinFocus Consensus Forecast expect the parallel dollar to remain under severe pressure next year. They project a non-official exchange rate of 2,069,486 VEF per USD by the end of 2018. In 2019, the panel sees the non-official exchange rate trading at 2,725,000 VEF per USD.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – DECEMBER 11, 2017: PUTIN ORDERS WITHDRAWAL OF RUSSIAN FORCES FROM SYRIA

On December 10, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Hezbollah launched a military operation in order to clear the desert area in eastern Syria from ISIS. According to pro-government sources, the SAA and Hezbollah liberated about 2,000 km in the area between the T2 pumping station and the city of al-Mayadin during the first day of the operation.

The US-led coalition believes that about 3,000 ISIS members remains in Iraq. If this is true, a notable part of them should hide in the Syrian desert. The liberation of this area will be an important part of the preparations for future anti-terrorist operations of the Iranian-Russian-Syrian alliance in Syria.

The U.S. Media Suffered Its Most Humiliating Debacle in Ages: Now Refuses All Transparency Over What Happened

There was just one small problem with this story: it was fundamentally false, in the most embarrassing way possible. Hours after CNN broadcast its story — and then hyped it over and over and over — the Washington Post reported that CNN got the key fact of the story wrong.

The email was not dated September 4, as CNN claimed, but rather September 14 — which means it was sent after WikiLeaks had already published access to the DNC emails online. Thus, rather than offering some sort of special access to Trump, “Michael J. Erickson” was simply some random person from the public encouraging the Trump family to look at the publicly available DNC emails that WikiLeaks — as everyone by then already knew — had publicly promoted. In other words, the email was the exact opposite of what CNN presented it as being.

No, Nikki Haley, the UN is Not ‘Hostile to Israel’

Haley made the statement during a special U.N. Security Council meeting to discuss U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to relocate the American embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

It is certainly true that the U.N. has been critical of Israeli actions on multiple occasions.

In December last year, for instance, the Security Council reiterated its belief that Israeli settlement activities in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem are a “flagrant violation” of international law and have “no legal validity.”

Resolution 2334 takes its basis from the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prevents an occupying power from transferring its civilian population onto occupied land.

It is not “outrageously hostile” against Israel to condemn its breaches of international humanitarian law.

On that resolution, the U.S. was the sole member state to abstain, but not because it did not condemn the settlements, which it said was its “long-standing position.”

Algeria denounces US recognition of Al Quds as capital of Israel

"Algeria has noted with very great concern the American administration's decision to recognize Al Quds as the capital of Israel," said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a communiqué.

"Algeria has strongly denounced this serious decision as it is a blatant violation of the related resolutions of the Security Council and the international law, and would undermine the peace process, which has been at the standstill for a long time," said the Ministry's communiqué.

Japan, U.S., South Korea to hold missile tracking drill amid North Korea crisis

The United States, Japan and South Korea will hold two days of missile tracking drills this week, Japan’s Maritime Self-Defence Force said on Sunday, as tensions rise in the region over North Korea’s fast-developing weapons programmes.

North Korea has fired two missiles over Japan as it pursues nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles in defiance of U.N. sanctions and international condemnation. On Nov. 29, it test-fired an intercontinental ballistic missile which it said was its most advanced yet, capable of reaching the mainland United States.

The exercises, on Monday and Tuesday, will be the sixth drill sharing information in tracking ballistic missiles among the three nations, the defence force said.

Get out of Yemen and break up with Israel to restore ties with Iran, Rouhani tells Saudi Arabia

Iran could have better relations with Saudi Arabia, but Riyadh must first stop its military intervention in Yemen and distance itself from Israel, Iran’s president told lawmakers. The two nations are regional powerhouses deadlocked in a conflict.

The confrontation between Iran and Saudi Arabia is multi-layered, rooted in religious, economic and political differences between the two. But, according to Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani, relations between the two may improve, if the Saudis take a certain course of action.

Zarif Warns Europe Not to Side with US against Iran’s Missile Program

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif described the JCPOA as a “rare triumph” of diplomacy over confrontation, urging Europe, instead of siding with Washington against Iran’s missile capabilities, to help maintain the nuclear agreement.

“The nuclear deal is a rare triumph of diplomacy over confrontation. Undermining that would be a mistake,” Zarif wrote in an article published by The New York Times.

He added, “Europe should not pander to Washington’s determination to shift focus to yet another unnecessary crisis — whether it be Iran’s defensive missile program or our influence in the Middle East. This would repeat the very dynamics that preceded the nuclear deal.”

Is Mecca next after Jerusalem?

The archaeological study mentioned in the Haaretz report, "Before Islam: When Saudi Arabia was a Jewish Kingdom," did its best to convince the world that "the discovery of the oldest-known pre-Islamic Arabic writing in Saudi Arabia, from circa 470 CE, evidently caused some consternation, given its Christian and Jewish context."

"The framework drawn by the archaeological study was something of an embarrassment to some that the French-Saudi expedition was done so quietly," the report continued, in an obvious move to discredit Muslim sensitivities and even the accuracy of Islamic history.

So, can we question the possibility that Israel wants to hegemonize the Islamic world by arguing the superiority of Jews in all corners of the Muslim world? Starting from even Mecca or Medina? Since that question is more meaningful in the midst of the ongoing Jerusalem chaos, the only alternative for the Muslim world is to be aware of the real intention of the Jewish state.

Recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital ‘null and void,’ Erdo?an says

President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an on Sunday condemned the Israeli invasion of Palestine, accusing the country of expanding its borders through state-terror and occupation since 1947, and stressed that the U.S.-decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israeli capital was "null and void."

Speaking at a Justice and Development Party (AK Party) event in northeastern Turkey's Sivas, Erdo?an used a map of Palestine to point out Israeli encroachment from 1947 to 1967 and how its borders were gradually expanded to occupy Palestinian territories.

"Between 1947 and 1967 Palestine began to shrink. After 1967 Israel was much larger than any time before," the president pointed to the map, which also showed how the Palestinian territories were gradually disappearing.
