The USG Open Source Center translates an article from the Russian press proposing a strategic alliance between Russia and Iran.
This is another classic case of support for Israel being contrary to the good of America.
The US could easily have been friends with Iran, sold products to Iran, bought cheap oil from Iran. All it would have taken was saying, "Hey we're sorry about that mess with the Shah and it was another administration anyway" and go about our peaceful commerce.
But as was the case with Iraq, Israel's voice in the US Government started talking about "Clash of Civilizations" (actually, it's a clash of banking systems), regime change, and tossed in a few lies about weapons of mass destruction. Now Iraq is shattered and the US taxpayer being made to pay for the mess, and Iran is now strategically allied with Russia. So Russia gets the cheap oil and the markets for their products, and the UD gets ... nothing. All because Israel tells us who to hate, and being Israel, they hate pretty much everyone.
