Intervention always leads to more intervention: the first intervention leads to unforeseen and uncontrollable consequences, which are then used as the justification for still further intervention. That intervention in turn leads to still more unforeseen and uncontrollable consequences, which are then used as yet another justification for still further intervention. The process can go on indefinitely, and the ultimate consequences are always disastrous in the extreme.
What we have in Obama is a magnificently telegenic pitch-man, with no real deviation from either the domestic or foreign policy blunders of his predecessor.
He just looks so good and intelligent in front of that teleprompter, he makes his adoring followers just want to believe every word which comes out of his mouth.
Unfortunately, you have to look at what he is doing, rather than listen to what he says, to get a sense of where things are headed in this country and geopolitically around the world.
It's not a pretty picture.
