``We all realize, both the Americans and us, that all options must be prepared,'' Lieutenant-General Gabi Ashkenazi said in an interview from Washington on Israel Radio. ``There is no doubt that diplomacy must be given priority.''
Ashkenazi, Israel's military chief of staff, is in Washington all week for talks with the U.S. on strategic cooperation amid escalating tensions with Iran.
Notice how much coverage CNN, MSNBC, etc., gave to these meetings: absolutely none. Today is the day that Admiral Mullen and Ashkenazi are supposed to meet. And again, what to we get? Absolute, deafening silence on this crucial meeting from the corporate television media.
Ashkenazi is determining, in this visit, just how soon a military strike might be possible against Iran. And notice the date for an Iranian response to the ultimatum the US gave to Iran, after inconclusive talks in Geneva: the "drop-dead date for Iran's answer to the latest proposal is Sunday, August 3rd.
