Mr. Paulson is resisting efforts to limit the pay of executives whose firms participate in the program and plans to fight it "hard," according to a person familiar with the matter. He fears that provision would render the program moot, since many firms might choose not to participate.
Let me get this straight. Paulson thinks that if we don;t pay the CEOs zillions of dollars in salaries, they might decide to thet their companies collapse rather than take a free government (taxpayer) handout to stay afloat?
This either makes the CEOs pirates or Paulson a total idiot.
Or Paulson is already thinking ahead to when he goes back into private life and wants a hefty salary for himself.
