The Tyranny of 9/11 | WHAT REALLY HAPPENED

The Tyranny of 9/11

We’ve walked a strange and harrowing road since September 11, 2001, littered with the debris of our once-vaunted liberties.

We have gone from a nation that took great pride in being a model of a representative democracy to being a model of how to persuade the citizenry to march in lockstep with a police state. In doing so, we have proven Osama Bin Laden right. He warned that “freedom and human rights in America are doomed. The U.S. government will lead the American people in – and the West in general – into an unbearable hell and a choking life.”

These past 15 years have indeed been an unbearable, choking hell.

What began with the passage of the USA Patriot Act in October 2001 has snowballed into the eradication of every vital safeguard against government overreach, corruption and abuse.

The citizenry’s unquestioning acquiescence to anything the government wants to do in exchange for the phantom promise of safety and security has resulted in a society where the nation is being locked down into a militarized, mechanized, hypersensitive, legalistic, self-righteous, goose-stepping antithesis of every principle upon which this nation was founded.

This is not freedom. This is a jail cell.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The price American citizens have paid for 9/11 has been that of 15 years of perpetual wars in the Middle East and beyond (with no seeming end in sight), in order to control raw materials, and insure that they are only sold for the US dollar.

The cost of these wars has been staggering, as have been the costs of resettling war refugees in this country.

We can believe nothing the Federal government or their media presstitutes say, after 9/11, and the charge that "Saddam Hussein had weapons of Mass Destruction."

The corrupt, dictatorial narcopracy our government has become reminds me greatly of Terry Gilliam's master film, "Brazil", where the only information one is allowed to have comes directly from the government bureaucracy, and no alternative thoughts were allowed. The citizenry was totally disposable; and torture was a standard way of "getting the truth" out of its citizens.

And if you don't believe such things have not already happened here, you need to read this article from theguardian.com from last year:

The disappeared: Chicago police detain Americans at abuse-laden 'black site'

I criticise this country because, as a Christian pacifist activist, I want it to find ways of resolving its geopolitical disputes other than wars; unfortunately, the US government's engaging in good faith, hard-one negotiations seems no longer something it wants to do, ever.

In looking at the future, and I hope I am absolutely wrong here, I see one which is very bleak for the American people.

It appears that the US government is spoiling for wars against Russia and China; this is a very, very bad idea right now, because, as of this moment, the US military doesn't have the weaponry; the troop strength; the manufacturing; or the money to insure a positive outcome to military confrontation with Russia and/or China.

And if you want a perfect example, take a look at all the the problems with the Lockheed-Martin "frankenfighter", the F-35:

F-35 MAY NEVER BE READY FOR COMBAT

We truly have a government of the corporations; for the corporations; and by the corporations; and in the most peaceful, logical way possible, that has got to change.

And there is a duel method for this; the first is throwing every single career politician in DC out of office, and insuring clean, no-glitch voting by using paper ballots, and the presentation of simple-to-acquire voter IDs.
