WEAPONRY, NOT IDEOLOGY, IS THE STRENGTH OF ISLAMIC STATE: | WHAT REALLY HAPPENED

WEAPONRY, NOT IDEOLOGY, IS THE STRENGTH OF ISLAMIC STATE:

I think I might have serendipitously discovered the answer to this riddle in an unprecedented December 2013 news report [1] from a website affiliated with the UAE government which supports the Syrian opposition: it is clearly mentioned that along with AK-47s, RPGs and other military gear, the Saudi regime also provides machine gun-mounted Toyota pick-up trucks to every batch of five jihadists who have completed their training in the training camps located at the border regions of Jordan. Once those militants cross over to Daraa and Quneitra in southern Syria from the Jordan-Syria border then those Toyota pick-up trucks can easily travel all the way to Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor and thence to Mosul in Iraq.

Apart from training and arms which have been provided to the militants in the training camps located on the Turkish and Jordanian border regions adjacent to Syria by the CIA in collaboration with the Turkish, Jordanian and Saudi intelligence agencies, another factor which has contributed to the stellar success of the Islamic State is that its top cadres are comprised of former Baathist military and intelligence officers from the Saddam era. According to an informative Associated Press report [2], hundreds of ex-Baathists constitute the top and mid-tier command structure of the Islamic State who plan all the operations and direct its military strategy.

More to the point, the only thing that differentiates the Islamic State from all other insurgent groups is its command structure which is comprised of professional ex-Baathists and its state-of-the-art weaponry that has been provided to all the Sunni Arab militant outfits that are fighting in Syria by the intelligence agencies of the Western powers, Turkey, Jordan and Saudi Arabia, as I have already mentioned.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Many, many years ago, I mentioned on this blog that the de-Baathification of the Iraqi military was, perhaps, the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing the US government could have done in Iraq. Unfortunately, time has proven this to be a correct assessment on this issue.

And note who is doing the actual training of these jihadis: the CIA in collaboration with the Turkish, Jordanian and Saudi intelligence agencies

Frankly, if this is not a "We have met the enemy, and he is us" moment for you, I don't know what can be.

The US government, in its lust to further destabilize the Middle East, and forcibly bend it to its will (according to Israel's desires), has created a world of hurt enabling it to expropriate resources to which it has no moral right; making sure the governments of those countries wind up western-centric, even if it has to destroy those countries to make that happen; and insure that those resources are only sold in US dollars.

The degree to which these activities by my government constitute war crimes, at this point in its history, is frightening and morally monstrous; there are moments when I wake up in the morning, and think I've awoken in the wrong country, but no.

I have awakened in what used to be the land of the free and the home of the brave; But in the last two decades, it has morphed into a thorough police state, where one is presumed guilty until proven innocent; surveilled every moment; and its people painfully exploited by the 1% who do not understand how angry the rest of us are.

As a Christian witness and Christian pacifist activist, I will never advocate violence; but I understand how violence can come about.

I am, however, advocating that all of the readers of this blog, and listeners to Mike's radio show,to quietly prepare themselves in terms of food; potable water; medication, and plans to reunite with their families, if they are separated if the excrement hits the ventilation system; 2017, at every level, may be a roller coaster ride of epic proportions.
