New digital approach aims at increasing tourism in Volcano

Business owners feeling the blow from the Kilauea Eruption are partnering with community leaders to launch a new tool for visitors to volcano.

It's a website showcasing activities that one may find just outside the national park, including air quality updates, hot spots and more.

"It's taken us the better part of three months to kind of get everything together, going ahead and put together a really kind of an entire website, soup to nuts, that is able to show off other things people can do in the Volcano area other than visiting Hawaii volcanoes national park," said Jesse Tunison of Experience Volcano Hawaii.

The group's outreach plan aims to benefit both residents and visitors going to the Volcano area, with hopes to reel in tourism.
