SAUDI CROWN PRINCE SAYS WON’T PAY US FOR OWN SECURITY

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said his country will not pay Washington for its own security, saying his oil-rich kingdom was created even before the US itself.

“Saudi Arabia was there before the United States of America. It’s there since 1744, I believe more than 30 years before the United States of America,” bin Salman told Bloomberg in an exclusive interview late Friday.

Last week, US President Donald Trump said the Saudi King would not last for two weeks in power without US military support.

But bin Salman downplayed Trump’s remarks, saying “you have to accept that any friend will say good things and bad things”.

“So you cannot have 100 per cent friends saying good things about you, even in your family. You will have some misunderstandings. So we put that in that category,” he said.

The Crown Prince said Riyadh has paid for all weapons bought from the US.

“We will pay nothing for our security. We believe that all the armaments we have from the United States of America are paid for, it’s not free armament,” he said.

“Ever since the relationship started between Saudi Arabia and the United States of America, we’ve bought everything with money.”

He stressed that Saudi-US relations were good, saying “If you look at the picture overall, you have 99 per cent of good things and one bad issue.”

Turning to the four-year conflict in Yemen, bin Salman voiced hope to reach a solution to the crisis in the neighbouring Arab country.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Money can apparently buy hubris, as it has done for the B.O.Y. (aka the Butcher of Yemen, aka Prince Salman)

Take, for example, his absolute disingenuous statements on the war against Yemen, which he actually gave the order to start, after the Houthis overthrew the al-Hadi government in 2015.

This horrific war, which has cost thousands of Yemeni lives to date, and will probably cost thousands more, could be stopped in a heartbeat, if the Saudi government were actually committed to a negotiated settlement; but the Saudi government wants complete capitulation on the part of both the Houthis, and the Yemeni people. And I will warn you: the images below are very graphic, but honest depictions of what the cost of this war has been to the Yemeni people.

Saudi-backed delegates leave Yemen peace talks The article goes on to state:

"A delegation from Yemen’s former government has left UN-brokered talks in Geneva after representatives of the Houthi movement were prevented by Saudi Arabia from attending the negotiations."

If the Houthis were not present, there was truly no one with whom the Saudis could negotiate.

But what is worse, is knowing that one is a citizen of a government which continues to aid and abet Saudi war crimes in Yemen; that is, of course, the Unhinged, Surveilled, State of Amerika, which continues to provide mid-air refueling to Saudi war jets, and "guidance" for their strikes - like, most probably, the school bus with Yemeni kids going on a field trip, assassinated by a Saudi air strike Saudi-led coalition strikes school bus in Yemen, murdering at least 29 children

Saudi soldiers continue to to murder and maim infants, children, women, and the medically fragile elderly, and bomb schools and hospitals with impunity.

With port blockades, accomplished through US help, they are preventing food aid from coming in at all, so much of the population is malnourished to the point of death. With the coming takeover of the Hodeida port, which looks to be happening soon, this will cut off nearly all of the food for famished innocents.

And finally, there has been an epidemic of cholera, courtesy of Saudi military having thoroughly destroyed all the water infrastructure in Yemen ( using a possibly weaponized strain, as was done by the American military during World War II) which has run rampant, and is, as of yet, completely uncontrolled.

If we do nothing, and say nothing, we, too, are complicit in these war crimes.

And so I ask my brother and sister Americans, in the most peaceful, logical way possible, to advocate for the US government withdrawing all its troops and supplies who, and which, have been supporting Saudi war crimes in Yemen.

The situation in Yemen has been described by human rights officials as one of the worst, ongoing catastrophes of the 21st century; I would politely suggest that the US not continue to enable these war Saudi war crimes here.

I am sure that, because of the circumstances of his birth, into one of the most monied, and aristocratic families on the face of this earth, that Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, has been awarded many honorifics in terms of his titles.

But I would hope that he understands fully, that "the one" which will stick, after he has passed, and at the top of the list after this genocide in Yemen is finally over, is that of "The Butcher of Yemen".
