South African FM Vows Land Redistribution in Country to Be 'Legitimate, Fair

The South African government will make sure that the land redistribution policy is "legitimate and constitutional," the South African foreign minister said on Thursday.

"The matter of land redistribution is before a parliamentary committee … We can assure everybody that it is a fair process… We will take every precaution to make sure that it is legitimate and constitutional," South African Foreign Minister Lindiwe Sisulu said during a lecture at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is painfully apparent that Foreign Minister Sisulu does not understand the difference between "constitutional" and "morally wrong."

And what we are seeing here, is the Zimbabwification of South Africa.

And you can take land from farmers, and give it to other people, but it is more than "ownership" which gets a farm producing; it is knowing the science of crop cycles; how not to exhaust the land by planting too frequently, and understanding what natural pesticides can do to protect crops, and how they are most appropriately used.

In this "Land Confiscation", it appears that none of the issues have even come up for discussion by the South African government.

This is going to be a real shame, when the country realizes it now must import larger and larger amounts of food with which to feed its people.

The economy may very well decline sharply, and take the value of the Rand down with it.
