EU approves sanctions on Iran’s intelligence service

Denmark announced on Tuesday that the European Union has agreed to impose sanctions on Iran’s intelligence service over plans to assassinate opponents of the Islamic Republic across the European Union.

“The EU just agreed to enact sanctions against an Iranian intelligence service for its assassination plots on European soil,” wrote Danish Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen on Twitter. “Strong signal from the EU that we will not accept such behaviour in Europe.”
