Democrats Vote to Allow Jerry Nadler to Subpoena Acting AG Whitaker

House Democrats on Thursday voted to give the House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) the ability to subpoena acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker to testify in front of the committee.

Whitaker had already agreed to testify before the committee on Friday morning in a hearing on oversight of the Department of Justice.

Democrats insisted the move was necessary in case he backed out or refused to answer questions.
