Iran Reiterates Rejection of Talks on Missile Capability

Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani said on Sunday that Iran needs nobody’s consultation on its missile capabilities, adding that Tehran’s defense program is based on its national interests and proportionate to threats.

“Iran takes no country’s consultation into consideration and never asks for any country’s permission when it comes to the range, the destruction power, precision, and preparation time as four decisive factors when setting up its missile policies,” Shamkhani said today, talking on the sidelines of the 2nd national conference on oral history of the Holy Defense.

He underlined that national interests and threats posed against the country are the only factors considered in Tehran’s planning of its defense and missile programs.

He added, “The history proves that the ill-wishers of the region have always failed.”
