Snow, rain sweeping across northcentral Montana | WHAT REALLY HAPPENED

Snow, rain sweeping across northcentral Montana

A slow-moving storm system was expected to bring significant rain and snow to northcentral Montana Tuesday and Wednesday prompting flooding concerns.

Steady rain already was falling across the region late Tuesday morning, with snow reported at higher elevations.

"This storm is developing right now as we speak," said Jim Brusda, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Great Falls.

The area of low pressure developing in Montana will move into the Midwest and produce blizzards from Nebraska to Minnesota, Brusda said.

On Tuesday morning, the heaviest precipitation in the Great Falls area was just east of the city.
