Washington Shooting Leaves 1 Person Dead, 5 Others Injured – Police

There is a Metropolitan Police Department presence on the scene of the shooting at 14th St. and Columbia Road in Northwest with DC Fire and EMS with DC Fire and EMS saying there are multiple victims, local WJLA-TV reported.

"Six individuals in the 1300 block of Columbia Road sustained gunshot wounds. One of those individuals has been pronounced deceased. The other five remaining individuals have been transported to the area hospitals with various gunshot wounds, ranging from non-critical to critical", local police commander Stuart Emerman said at a press briefing.

Several media previously reported citing the police that at least six people have been wounded in the incident.

?There has been no information yet on the gunner. Police said that the homicide unit has been called at the scene, according to Fox 5.

Webmaster's Commentary:

First, prayers for the deceased; the wounded, and their families and friends.

But what I want to know is, was the shooter getting on, or getting off of some kind of psychiatric, antidepressive medication, perhaps SSRIs (Selective Serotonin Uptake Reinhibitors), right before this horrific incident happened?!?

It is a known fact that certain psychiatric medications can cause episodes of violent self-harm, or violent behaviour toward others.

We know this about District of Columbia Gun Laws, and a check at google.com reveals the following: 'Summary of District of Columbia Gun Laws
Metropolitan Police. All firearms must be registered, and this process acts as a permit to purchase. Individuals cannot possess ammunition without a valid registration of a firearm. ... You must be at least 21 years old to get a concealed carry permit in D.C.Aug 13, 2019'

And I have to think; one person with their head on straight, who was at the scene, and had a concealed carry permit, might have well stopped this person, cold, in their tracks.

DAMN!!

So please, if you are a family with kids, and mom and/or dad, has had psychiatric medications recommended for your kids (or by Doctor or NP, or a school mental health specialist), before you commit to doing this, please read the following, and make the decision for your kid and yourself, to look at the following website:

www.ssristories.org: Antidepressant Nightmares

Anti-depressant drugs are very much the vogue these days; but please, have a very clear understanding of the downsides here.

I'm not a physician, but one thing you may want to do (even if you have to pay out of pocket), is have a nutritional evaluation of your child done, before you commit to having them start on these meds.

And one place - which I always suggest to friends who have had not great diagnoses of whatever they are dealing with - is any Adventist Hospital and Clinic to which you happen to be close.

Their medical facilities are always rated very highly, and because the 7th Day Adventists are ovolactovegetarians, their statistics are incredibly good, for not getting things like cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure; heart issues; etc... Food can have an incredible effect on both mood, and concentration.

I'm just saying; knowledge is power; please remember this.
