NYC THREATENS UP TO $250K IN FINES FOR USING TERMS LIKE 'ILLEGAL ALIEN,' THREATENING TO CALL ICE

SOURCE: FOX NEWS
New York City's Commission on Human Rights announced on Thursday that residents could face up to $250,000 in fines if they use terms such as "illegal alien ... with intent to demean, humiliate or harass a person."

"Hate has no place here," a tweet from the City of New York read. The city's announcement ticked off a list of offensive ways to address immigrants -- including threatening to call Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), or harassing someone for their "limited English proficiency."

"Threatening to call ICE when motivated by discrimination, derogatory use of the term 'illegal alien,' and discrimination based on limited English proficiency are unlawful discriminatory treatment under the NYC Human Rights Law," the announcement read.

It clarified that calling ICE with a "discriminatory motive" was a violation. It was not immediately clear what New York City would consider a call to ICE lacking in "discriminatory motive."

"Fines of up to $250,000 can be assessed for each act of willful discrimination, and damages are available to complainants," the city said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, but how can language which has been deemed legal by the Federal Government, now be considered "illegal" by New York City's Commission on Human Rights?!?

And please remember; the word "illegal" does not define the status by race; "illegal"is defined by whether one is legally, or illegally, in this country, period, end of discussion, based on facts, not flowery rhetoric.

That innocent, inclusive, 20th century world, as seen by American Poet Emily Lazarus, from the work, "The New Colossus", which reads, "Give me your tired, your poor...your huddled masses, yearning to breathe free...." no longer exists, in the 21st century version of this country, USA 2.1.

In order to compete and grow here in the US, one needs to have both an excellent grasp of English which is just as fluent as is your grasp of your primary language; be computer literate enough, up to (and possibly, including) the ability to code for AI; be numerate; and (although large corporations have a love/hate relationship with this one), and be logical.

I would really like to ask the City of New York's human rights commission, just how many people, rushing to "jump the system", in order to qualify for free food; housing; medical care; and education, have this skill set?!?

The short answer here, should be "precious few", as those with these skills and abilities will always be welcomed under the US Visa Program, which is both merit and skill-based.

So, I would very much like to ask the members of New York City's Commission on Human Rights the following question; in light of what you have interpreted as "slights" upon undocumented workers, who do not have the skills necessary to work and compete economically in this country, how much of both your individual salaries, and your commissions' budget, would you allocate to feed, medically treat, educate, and house these people, and their kids?!?

Or is this "Imperial Edict" from this Commission simply another way of assuaging their individual consciences that they have "done something" for the undocumented, when they understand, without a moment of doubt, that this will do nothing, except create worse problems for these people, down the road for them?!?

Just curious, that is all.
