80,000+ still need to pay income taxes

The Indiana Department of Revenue is sending out more than 80,000 tax bills to those who still owe income tax money.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What part of "We The People Don't Have It" are these bozos not getting? In 1913, the US Government sold us all into a financial system intentionally designed to draw all the wealth into the hands of the privately owned Federal Reserve. But nobody stopped to plan on what to do when the scheme actually succeeded, which is where we are today.

I wonder how many of those 80,000 people know how to fly a plane?

North Korea, US to Hold Warship Talks

Senior officers from the U.S.-led United Nations Command and North Korea are expected to meet Tuesday to discuss the recent sinking of a South Korean warship. The United Nations Command said Monday the meeting will be at the truce village of Panmunjom in the Demilitarized Zone.

North Korea had initially rejected the U.N. Command's request to discuss possible violations of the 1953 truce that ended the Korean War.However, Pyongyang changed its stance after Seoul rejected its proposal to send a military team to inspect the Cheonan, which sank after an explosion in March.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a small, but positive, step toward ratcheting down tensions on the Korean peninsula.

Hopefully, these talks will lead to some kind of final status negotiations, and a genuine peace treaty to replace the 1953 armistice.

Will we lose mortgage deductions, Medicare?

The chairmen of President Obama's national debt commission painted a gloomy picture Sunday as the United States struggles to control its spending.

Republican Alan Simpson and Democrat Erskine Bowles told a meeting of the National Governors Association that everything needs to be considered — including curtailing popular tax breaks, such as the home-mortgage deduction...

Webmaster's Commentary:

That is NOT 'cutting spending'; that is keeping spending and gouging the people.

History is against this approach. Every government in history that ran itself into this much debt and tried to deal with it by taxing the people into poverty collapsed.

In contrast, look at the Reagan tax cuts, which in allowing the economy the freedom to operate actually increased economic activity to such an extent that net tax revenues rose.

Growing Lobbying Battle Reported Over New START treaty

The Obama and Medvedev governments finalized the terms of the new START treaty, a key nuclear arms reduction pact, in late March, but the battle for the possible passage of the treaty through the US Senate is just now starting to pick up, with growing efforts to organize opposition to the reduction of America’s nuclear weapons arsenal.

The pact as finalized by the two governments would reduce both of their arsenals by roughly 30 percent, and leaves open the controversial US missile defense systems, allowing only non-binding signing statements from both sides on the matter.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If passed by the Senate, such a treaty would go a long way toward reducing tensions between the US and Russia.

One has to wonder if those opposing this treaty have heavy investments in defense infrastructure companies; I would almost bet that might be the case.

Russia warns Iran near nuclear weapons potential

Iran is close to having the potential to build a nuclear weapon, President Dmitry Medvedev said on Monday in the clearest indication yet of Russian alarm over Tehran's atomic drive.

"Iran is nearing the possession of the potential which in principle could be used for the creation of a nuclear weapon," Medvedev said at a meeting with Russian diplomats quoted by Russian news agencies.

Medvedev did not mention the spy scandal in his speech to diplomats but said Russia and the United States "have no right to pause on the way to smoothing mutual understanding."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Although this is written to imply that Medvedev believes that Iran is approaching having the technical know-how to build a nuclear bomb, I seriously doubt that he believes Iran is actually in the process of building such a weapon.

And Russia of all countries should know; it's been providing the technical assistance to get the reactor in Bushehr on-line, theoretically next month.

Also, the timing of this statement feels just a little odd, right after the US/Russia spyswap in Vienna.

VOTE FRAUD AND THE BANKRUPTCY OF THE UNITED STATES

In an atmosphere of doubt about the validity of the voting process, it appears that the entire voting process is a sham, a trick to fool the American people into accepting whatever is done to them by creating the illusion that the people somehow voted for and approved of whatever is being done. That's how Batista fooled the Cuban people. That's how the USSR fooled the Soviet citizens. And that's how the American government fools us.

Do We The People owe that $65 trillion? No, we do not. It was borrowed without our permission. No citizen agreed to repay that money.

Those government officials who borrowed that money and intend that We The People should be forced to repay it can no longer do so on the assumption that they rule with the consent of those who vote.

Evidence - Obama Stole Election Against Hillary Voter Intimidation And Fraud

Webmaster's Commentary:

I want to be clear. Obama is the worst President is US history. Obama makes Dubya actually look good by comparison! Obama is making Sarah Palin look good by comparison. In my view, Obama is a traitor to the people of the United States of America for his defense of Israel's attack on Americans in international waters. And it would not surprise me at all to learn that Obama engaged in vote fraud because vote fraud is epidemic in the US.

But...

I am wondering why the fraud that took place in 2008 is suddenly a news item right now and so soon after a 2006 sexual harassment case has insured Al Gore's continued retirement from public life for the near term.

Someone is clearing away the Democratic competition ahead of the 2012 elections, and given the Democratic "pedigree" of this film maker, we should not assume our mastermind is a Republican.

We need to be aware of any Democrat or Independent with White House ambitions, a past record of ruthlessness, and making overt obeisance to Israel as the price of electability!

UPDATE: It occurs to me that there is one more reason for this story to appear now, and that is to use the threat of a vote fraud scandal put pressure on Obama to attack Iran.

Obama spokesman says Democrats could lose House

President Barack Obama's party could lose its House majority in this fall's elections, his spokesman said Sunday, perhaps trying to jolt Democratic voters with the specter of GOP lawmakers rolling back White House policies.

Nothing looked right. His talent for convincing the masses of foolish voters wouldn’t be enough under the circumstances. People were losing their trust in the IDF. In the last years there was not even one significant victory. The Second Lebanese War had been won by the Hezbollah, Operation Cast Lead ended in disgrace for the entire people; now they were officially terrorists in the eyes of the world. Gaza’s Freedom Flotilla was a nightmare; the IDF had murdered innocents in front of the international media cameras. His Minister of Defense was an inept. In a recent show of stupidity, the last ordered the sealing of the windows of Arabs' homes in the way to the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron, so that Jewish worshipers would enjoy a shorter route. Obama's debt commission warns of fiscal 'cancer'

Bowles said that unlike the current economic crisis, which was largely unforeseen before it hit in fall 2008, the coming fiscal calamity is staring the country in the face. "This one is as clear as a bell," he said. "This debt is like a cancer."

The commission leaders said that, at present, federal revenue is fully consumed by three programs: Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. "The rest of the federal government, including fighting two wars, homeland security, education, art, culture, you name it, veterans -- the whole rest of the discretionary budget is being financed by China and other countries," Simpson said.

“All this weighed heavy on my mind as I walked beneath the awning that leads to the West Wing and saw Richard Perle exiting the building just as I was about to enter. Ours was little more than a passing acquaintance. As the doors closed behind him, we made eye contact and nodded. I had just reached the door myself when Perle turned to me and said, 'Iraq has to pay a price for what happened yesterday. 'They bear responsibility.' (Italics added).

Critics say loan modification law isn't working

Under the law, borrowers who believe they can avoid foreclosure if the terms of their mortgages are modified can ask for mediation, and lenders must attend the mediation meeting. The mediation mandate kicks in once foreclosure proceedings begin. Borrowers have 30 days to request the mediation meeting.

But critics argue the mediation law is a toothless sham because the program isn't following the law. Homeowners and their advocates argue that although lenders' representatives are taking part in meetings, they aren't negotiating. They charge that many lenders would rather throw homeowners out than consider loan modifications.

Microsoft hides mystery Firefox extension in toolbar update

As part of its regular Patch Tuesday, Microsoft released an update for its various toolbars, and this update came with more than just documented fixes. The update also installs an add-on for Internet Explorer and an extension for Mozilla Firefox, both without the user's permission. As you can see in the Windows Update screenshot above, Microsoft does not indicate that the update will install anything for either browser. It's also not really clear what the installed extension actually does.

To make matters worse, the update was marked "Important" instead of "Optional," which means it was more likely to be installed either automatically (if the user has Automatic Updates on) or manually when the user clicks Install (Important updates are checked by default).

Holder Floats Possibility of Racial Profiling Suit Against Arizona

The lawsuit filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Arizona claimed the state was infringing on federal immigration responsibilities and urged the judge to prevent the law from going into effect at the end of July. Despite some officials' claims that the law could lead to racial profiling, that concern was not cited as grounds for the suit.

So, despite the headline, that's not a grounds for the suit. But aside from the corporate media spin, if the Federal Gov't actually took the responsibility of controlling immigration along the border, the state wouldn't have to take the action it has! It's not about race, it's about controlling our border! If the feds won't do it, it's up to the states and the People!

Four bust in 'dirty bomb' sale sting

Sources said the amount recovered, although small, could have been used in building a dirty bomb. According to the Wikipedia website, a dirty bomb combines radioactive material with conventional explosives. It is used to contaminate the area around the explosion and create terror.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A radioactive "Dirt bombs" causes terror because the media TELLS you that dirty bombs are terrorizing. In point of fact they are speculative, meaning one has not actually ever been used. It's a propaganda invention.

Now Cesium 137 is nasty stuff and you do not want to stay close to it for very long, but it is lethal only if you ingest it and it chemically combines with your body so that you cannot expel it. (Prussian Blue is used as a treatment because it will combine with the Cesium and allow it to be flushed from the body). But the so-called dirty bomb is really just another bomb; the damage and death comes from the initial blast. There simply is not enough radioactive material to cover a sizable area. Yes, the cordoned-off area around Chernobyl was mostly contaminated with Cesium 137, but that was an entire reactor core that went into the air. The only other major Cesium 137 disaster was when an abandoned cancer radiotherapy machine was salvaged in Brazil and the Cesium capsule opened. There were four deaths which resulted when the victims decided to paint themselves with the glowing material as a decoration.

But in the event of a bomb mixed with radioactive materials, those not killed by the blast are free to leave the area to escape the radiation, and those that are contaminated may seek help. But based on the Brazil disaster, the chances of the radiation being more dangerous than the blast itself are minimal.

And here is the final point: Since the vast majority of people do not carry radiation meters with them on the streets, nobody would know whether a bomb was dirty or not when it happens, hence the terror exists only in the media. And there are plenty of radiation sources one can use for such a PR bomb, including very fast camera lenses made before 1970 (Thorium glass) or antique yellow glass (made with Uranium).

'Israel's status worst since 70s'

Israel's current standing in the United Nations is the worst it has been in nearly forty years, said Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations, Gabriela Shalev, in an interview with Army Radio on Sunday.

Israel has yet to comply with the conditions placed on its UN membership. Israel has refused the UN request for an international inquiry into the attack on the aid flotilla. U.S. Republicans and Democrats differ on nearly every issue in the U.S. Congress but are united in their support of Israel, Congressman Eric Cantor (R-VA) told a congregation of U.S. Jews on Saturday.

But despite its many differences with regard to foreign and domestic matters, said Cantor, the Congress stands united on one issue: support for Israel and its vital interests.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to the voters of Virginia: the next time you have the opportunity to vote this Israel-firster out of office, please do so, and show him the door.

We need Congressional representatives who consistently place the interests of American citizens first, second, and third, and never the interests of a foreign nation ahead of that, ever.

Netanyahu: Iran is the ultimate terrorist threat today

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday called Iran "the ultimate terrorist threat today", telling U.S. television it was a mistake to think Tehran's nuclear ambitions could be contained.

Webmaster's Commentary:

More "drip drip drip" propaganda, engineered to "soften up" the American public for the coming US attack against Iran.

Classified CIA Transcript Counters Bin Laden Terror Role

Doubt Thrown on Proof Bin Laden a Terrorist Leader

Two weeks ago, CIA Director Leon Panetta told the press the CIA had not been able to positively confirm any specific information on Osama bin Laden since "late 2000." Interviews with high ranking military and intelligence officials, some at the highest levels, have confirmed that all evidence lends toward Osama bin Laden's death in December 2001. Yet transcripts of translated audio and video tapes, albeit widely disputed, are continually released by a news agency tied to Israeli intelligence services.

'Hizbullah has target list ready'

A senior official with Hizbullah stated on Sunday that the group has a list of military targets inside Israel to hit in any future war.

Hizbullah commander in South Lebanon, Sheik Nabil Kaouk, made his comments in response to last week's release by Israel's military of maps and aerial photographs of what it described as a network of Hizbullah weapons depots and command centers in South Lebanon.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The headline should read: 'Israel has target list ready for Lebanon'!

And I would almost be willing to make a bet on this; if another war starts in Lebanon, it will be neither Hizbullah nor the Lebanese military which will start that war.

Do sweeteners bring on early birth? How fizzy drinks can harm an unborn child

Mothers-to-be who down cans of fizzy drink containing artificial sweeteners could be at greater risk of having a premature baby.

Research funded by the EU found a correlation between the amount of diet drink consumed and an early birth among the 60,000 women studied.

Many had switched from sugary drinks to those with artificial sweeteners believing they were a healthier option.

But this study suggests that drinks using sweeteners, such as aspartame, carried dangers for the unborn child.

Obama’s “jobs program”: Poverty wages and mass unemployment

The real unemployment rate in the US is above 20 percent. Long-term joblessness is at a post-war high. Millions of youth have no prospect of finding work. Home values—the major source of wealth for most families—continue to fall. Foreclosures, homelessness, hunger, utility shutoffs and poverty are soaring. Schools, parks and museums are being closed, and what remains of a social safety net is being shredded.

Obama insinuated that the working class has been living beyond its means. In fact, working class living standards in the US have been stagnant or declining for the past 40 years. It is the financial aristocracy that has been on a consumption binge based on its plundering of the national wealth.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Obama has never been, and will never be, a true representative of We the People; his total and unwavering allegiance is truly to the ultra-wealthy corporations which love nothing better than to grind down the working middle class into accepting poverty-level wages.

Hacker Creates Plugin That Trashes Chrome’s Security

We hate to scare you on Friday right before a good weekend, but this story is alarming enough that you need to hear about. Before we proceed, know that this exploit is out in the open, be extra careful when you install any Chrome plugin; you may be at risk.

The exploit, developed by programmer Andreas Grech, employs a plugin coded using jQuery to track users’ login information and have it emailed to himself. He claims that he has tested the plugin, and that it has been successful against Twitter, Gmail, and Facebook.

Fallujah: Anatomy of an Atrocity

Although I should have known better, I had hoped that the situation was easing in Fallujah, or at least not getting worse, because I had not heard much news recently, but instead, the situation is only getting worse as we speak. A further finding the scientists made was that in the category of children aged 0-4, there are only 860 boys per 1000 girls. A normal ratio is 1050 boys per 1000 girls. This is evidence of genetic mutations.

Call for American Declaration of Independence from Israel

By Paul Balles

Wake Up Americans

When will the American public wake up to the fact that Israel controls America? If the public doesn’t wake up, Israel will destroy America.

The US government is a hopelessly lost slave to Israeli dictates. The media wallows in abject servitude to Israel’s shills at the helm of the major film studios, broadcasting companies, newspapers and magazines.

After the Israelis attacked the Gaza Freedom Flotilla, most of the world condemned Israel for their blatant piracy, murder of nine humanitarian activists and serious injuries to dozens more.

Malaysia Will Request UN General Assembly To Seek ICJ Opinion On Freedom Flotilla Attack

Malaysia would request the United Nations (UN) General Assembly to seek an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) concerning Israel's attack on the Freedom Flotilla, said Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

"Malaysia will also demand Israel to immediately lift the blockade on Gaza, consistent with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1860," he said when closing the international conference, "Breaking The Siege: In the Spirit of Rachel Corrie and Mavi Marmara", at the Putra World Trade Centre, here, Sunday.

Threatening World Order: US and Israel Quietly Announce Plans to Reconstitute Their Nuclear Stockpiles

The Obama and Netanyahu governments are seeking to obscure their contempt for nuclear abolition by calling for "nonproliferation" in the Middle East, while Israel simultaneously boycotts New-York-based discussions (at the 2010 NPT conference) of the need for a "nuclear free" Middle East.(2) "Nonproliferation," within this context, can be understood to apply only to other countries such as Iran, which has long been a target for US and Israeli military planners.

The Drums of War? Pentagon Provokes New Crisis With China

With the arrival of the USS Ohio in the Philippines, the USS Michigan in South Korea and the USS Florida "in the strategic Indian Ocean outpost of Diego Garcia" [6] on the same day, "the Chinese military awoke to find as many as 462 new Tomahawks deployed by the U.S. in its neighborhood."

Just as the Pentagon is moving nuclear submarines under the northern polar ice cap to the Indian Ocean, so it has recently reached an "agreement [that] will allow troops to fly directly from the United States over the North Pole" to Afghanistan and "the region" by way of Kazakhstan, which borders China as well as Russia. Abbas: No direct peace talks before progress made in proximity talks

Speaking in Ramallah, Abbas reiterated the Palestinian demand for progress in the indirect "proximity" talks, being mediated by U.S. envoy to the region George Mitchell, before any move to direct negotiations.

The indirect talks have been under way for two months.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There can be no progress with peace talks between Abbas and Netanyahu, because Netanyahu's government doesn't want peace; it wants territory, and by any means necessary.

Abbas knows he's cornered, and cannot possibly come from a position of strength here. Israel refuses any dialogue with Hamas. It's, unfortunately, a lose/lose dilemma for the Palestinians.

And that's just where Netanyahu wants things to remain.

US ‘realises it cannot win’ Afghan war

Some Pakistani officials are convinced that the United States’ ongoing military surge against the Taliban in Afghanistan is doomed, and that the diminishing western appetite for the war will position it as the key to a future political settlement, Pakistani analysts said.

Pakistan’s foreign policy leaders, notably its powerful army chief, consider the June 23 exit of Gen Stanley McChrystal as the commander of US forces in Afghanistan as indicative of a growing acceptance by the Obama administration that the conflict cannot be settled by force, they said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This was an unwinnable war from the beginning, with never enough military resources on the ground to create anything that would ever look like a military victory to a sensible human being.

At the end of the day, and after almost 9 years of blood and money spent, the US and NATO need to declare victory, bring their troops home, and negotiate with whatever government is left standing in Kabul for the oil pipeline rights.

After the Flotilla

Turkey is furious about the death of eight Turks and one Turkish-American in the raid. Israel claims that its soldiers acted in self-defense and that the flotilla was organized by radical activists, supported by Turkey, who were bent on provoking an incident. Israel’s government has opened its own review, with outside observers, but has resisted calls for an international investigation — the only chance of getting Turkey to answer questions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

My letter to the New York Times

Regarding “After the Flotilla” http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/10/opinion/10sat2.html

Saying that the Israelis were defending themselves at the aid flotilla is like saying the Japanese were defending themselves at Pearl Harbor.

As Edward R. Morrow put it, “There are not two sides to every story. There is only the truth.”

And the truth is that Israel attacked a US-flagged ship in international waters and took prisoner American citizens, one of whom, a 19-year old kid from New York carrying a US passport, was shot to death while lying on the deck helpless.

Turkey has a right to be angry. Israel attacked and killed their citizens (and ours) because of concerns the aid flotilla would interfere with Israel’s blockade of Gaza. That was the exact same reason Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, concern that Americans would interfere with the blockade of China and Indochina. But we did not see President Roosevelt rush up to Congress to explain that from the Japanese point of view, they had a good reason to kill our people. Roosevelt responded to an act of war with a war.

In 1904, Moroccan Mulah Raisuli kidnapped American businessman Ion Perdicaris as part of the effort to free Morocco from Spanish rule. Ion Perdicaris, on his release, stated that he felt Raisuli was acting in the best interests of his people But Teddy Roosevelt didn’t run around explaining that Raisuli had a legitimate reason to do what he did. President Roosevelt dispatched 7 battleships with orders to level Morocco’s coastline if Perdicaris was not released.

Our current President has ignored his primary duty to protect American territory (which means all US-flagged ships) and American citizens from attacks by foreign governments. The Turkish leadership has balls our own government can only dream of.

And that is the truth of this story.

No Israel visit for Dustin Hoffman

Jewish actor Dustin Hoffman halted arrangements to attend the Jerusalem Film Festival in the wake of the Gaza flotilla clash, one of the organisers has claimed.

Meg Ryan has also pulled out of the event, which begins in Jerusalem on July 8 and is expected to attract more than 70,000 people.

The associate director of the Cinematheque, the location of the annual festival, told the Jerusalem Post he had been “very close to reaching an agreement” for Mr Hoffman to appear at the event.

Yigal Molad Hayo said: “Then the flotilla happened and correspondence was ended.”

The BP Gulf Oil Gusher Represents: An Historic Failure of Government And Industry, A Tragic Violation Of The Public Trust And Social Contract

We wonder out loud about whether it is now time to establish a Regional Citizens' Initiative (NGO that effectively functions as a parallel government) to step in where government and industry have completely failed and betrayed the people.

Iran says US must state position on Israeli nukes

Sanctions imposed by "arrogant" Western powers would not slow Iran's nuclear progress, he said. "The first condition (for talks to resume) is they should express their views about the nuclear weapons of the Zionist regime. Do they agree with that or not. If they agree that these bombs should be available to them, the course of the dialogue would be different," he said, speaking in Nigeria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I really hate it when a political leader I don't like at all, representing a theocracy, which I also don't like at all, gets it right about the double standard the US so stridently demonstrates regarding Israel's nuclear weapons.

Google Street View accused of Congress 'snooping'

Google has stressed all along that someone would need to be using the network as their cars passed by and that the in-car wifi equipment automatically changes channels roughly five times a second.

Consumer Watchdog focused on a number of high profile politicians whose homes appear on Google's Street View maps.

It found that Congresswoman Jane Harman, who heads the intelligence sub committee for the House's Homeland Security Committee, has an open home network that could have leaked out vital information that could have been picked up by Street View vehicles.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It occurs to me that a US official who is actually working for Israel no longer needs to leave a chalk "X" on a mailbox and stick envelopes full of papers underneath a local bridge for pickup.

All a traitor needs to have is an open WiFi post and a handler could drive by out on the street in front of their home, send a message packet to the traitor's computer over the WiFi and have the "take" flash back to their laptop in the blink of an eye without even slowing down the car! Given the very limited range of WiFi, interception would be very difficult.

Another way a Congressional spy could send data to their handler involves the file transfer apps on smart phones (like "Mover" for the iPhone), which allow the transfer of documents from one phone to another over a WiFi router. A spy for Israel can be in a clothing store dressing room at the mall while the handler is eating lunch at the food court next door, and as long as there is an open WiFi in the area, information can be sent from one phone to the other without a compromising physical contact. The router itself does not save the data it passes from one phone to the other. If the clandestine messages are hidden inside image files via steganography, even a random search of the phones would not reveal anything compromising, as the phones themselves are all "off the shelf".

In any event, given the obvious need for security coupled with the Congressional pay and budgets, I find the presence of open unsecured WiFi ports in the homes of pro-Israel congresscritters to be worrisome!

How the Mossad Tricked US into Bombing Libya

By the end of March, the Americans were already intercepting messages broadcast by the Trojan, which was only activated during heavy communication traffic hours. Using the Trojan, the Mossad tried to make it appear that a long series of terrorist orders were being transmitted to various Libyan embassies around the world (or, as they were called by the Libyans, Peoples' Bureaus). As the Mossad had hoped, the transmissions were deciphered by the Americans and construed as ample proof that the Libyans were active sponsors of terrorism. What's more, the Americans pointed out, Mossad reports confirmed it.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As Israel gets ready to intercept the Libyan aid ship, it is worth recalling that Libya has been the victim of Israel's dirty tricks in the past and is not likely to have much trust for anything Israel says today.

APA campaigns against CIA ‘torture doctor’

Psychologists in the United States have been warned by their professional group not to take part in torturing detainees in U.S. custody.

Now the American Psychological Association has taken the unprecedented step of supporting an attempt to strip the license of a psychologist accused of overseeing the torture of a CIA detainee.

The APA has told a Texas licensing board in a letter mailed July 1 that the allegations against Dr. James Mitchell represent "patently unethical" actions inconsistent with the organization's ethics guidelines.

US says UN statement condemns N.Korea
AFP
Published: Friday July 9, 2010

The United States said Friday that a UN statement showed "unanimous condemnation" of North Korea over the sinking of a South Korean warship, rejecting Pyongyang's claims of a diplomatic victory.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to Mark Toner: the statement by the UN condemns the act of the sinking of the South Korean ship, but does not specifically condemn North Korea for the sinking!

What everyone here needs to do is ratchet down the rhetoric and tension, and China needs to persuade its petulant client state back to the negotiating table; and this time, the US needs to keep its word as to precisely what it is willing to do to achieve North Korea's cooperation.

Netanyahu: Only US military threats can stop Iran from making nukes

Diplomacy and sanctions won't stop Iran from building a nuclear warhead, according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"There has only been one time that Iran actually stopped the program," Netanyahu told Fox News' Chris Wallace Sunday. "That was when it feared US military action."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Once again, as with the case with Iraq, the American public is being "softened up" by articles and interviews like this for a military attack against Iran, a country which hasn't started a war in 200 years.

And once again, it will be American kids doing the fighting, getting maimed for life, and dying to "neutralize" yet another of Israel's alleged existential threats in the region.

Arab Americans protest CNN's firing of senior editor Nasr

Nasr's 20-year career at CNN ended Wednesday after a tweet mourning the death of Sayyed Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah, a Lebanese Shiite cleric whom she called "one of Hezbollah's giants I respect a lot."

Facing a rash of criticism, she explained her tweet in a blog post, saying her respect was based on Fadlallah's advocacy for women's rights.

But by then, it was too late. CNN put out a statement a few hours later, saying her "credibility" had been "compromised."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Her credibility is "compromised?" What about Wolf Blitzer who worked for AIPAC, the openly anti-arab Jerusalem Post, and is a staunch supporter of Israel? Doesn't his obvious bias wreck his credibility? (rhetorical question, of course, as he already lost his years ago).

Ain’t No Money in Being Productive

Let’s take it back to the vulture capitalists. Do you know they make their money? By being a brilliant capitalist? That’s what they would want you to believe. No, they make money by using borrowed money to buy family owned businesses, saddling the company with debt, taking a multi million dollar fee from the borrowed money for doing so, operating the company for a while and then selling it on for a larger amount to someone else using borrowed money saddling the company with more debt, and taking out a profit in the transaction. Brilliant, right? Depends. If you are the vulture, you get a nice check. If you are the worker at the company, you eventually lose your job as the company closes because the company could no longer service the debt payments.

To CNN, her views may be viewed as controversial or non-conformist or even repugnant. However, her right to express her views, however objectionable, via a twitter message, not CNN screen, is absolute.
