SAG Strike Likely Averted as Actors and Producers Reach Tentative Agreement

Columbine 10 Years Later

Certainly there are many interests that oppose private citizens being able to stop crime. Organized crime tops that list, followed by many polioce officials who see their own authority and pensions threatened by a public able to take care of themselves. Finally there are the pro-dictatorship forces in the US which see a disarmed and hyelpless population as crucial to their designs.

It is in this context that the very odd aspects of the Columbine shooting need to be examined. Looking back from a time when we know the government lied about weapons of mass destruction, and with 84% of Americans no longer trusting the official story of 9-11, it is valid to ask if Columbine was a staged event to trick Americansinto surrendering their Second Amendment rights.

Obama's Environmental Disaster

Okay, I get it. Carbon dioxide is bad. It’s a pollutant. Thus, based on the Environmental Protection Agency’s proposed finding on greenhouse gases, everyone is now a polluter.

This includes me

Pardon my sarcasm, but the EPA’s plan to equate carbon dioxide, the substance that we emit every minute of every day of our lives, with pollution—a term I equate with noxious substances like benzene, dioxin, and PCBs—seems like something out of a bad science fiction novel.

The Tower of Basel: Secretive Plans for the Issuing of a Global Currency

The key to their success, said Quigley, was that the international bankers would control and manipulate the money system of a nation while letting it appear to be controlled by the government. The statement echoed one made in the eighteenth century by the patriarch of what would become the most powerful banking dynasty in the world. Mayer Amschel Bauer Rothschild famously said in 1791:

“Allow me to issue and control a nation’s currency, and I care not who makes its laws.”

Some of the Most Sinister SOBs in the Country Are Economists

The New York Times GREGORY MANKIW - It May Be Time for the Fed to Go Negative -Ben S. Bernanke, the Fed chairman, is the perfect person to make this commitment to higher inflation. Mr. Bernanke has long been an advocate of inflation targeting. In the past, advocates of inflation targeting have stressed the need to keep inflation from getting out of hand. But in the current environment, the goal could be to produce enough inflation to ensure that the real interest rate is sufficiently negative.

[Higher inflation is a recipe for virtual servitude for the lower classes that will not see any inflation in their wages under this scheme.]

Head of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco Explains How We Got Into This Financial Mess

When optimism is high and ample funds are available for investment, investors tend to migrate from the safe hedge end of the ... spectrum to the risky speculative and Ponzi end. Indeed, in the current episode, investors tried to raise returns by increasing leverage and sacrificing liquidity through short-term—sometimes overnight—debt financing. Simultaneously, new and fancy methods of financial engineering allowed widespread and complex securitization of many types of assets, most famously in subprime lending. In addition, exotic derivatives, such as credit default swaps, were thought to dilute risk by spreading it widely. These new financial products provided the basis for an illusion of low risk, a misconception that was amplified by the inaccurate analyses of the rating agencies.

Free Gaza Movement: We are coming back, this time with a flotilla

Bethlehem - Ma’an - The Free Gaza Movement will return to the Strip with a "flotilla" of boats at the end of May carrying generators for hospitals and schools, medical supplies as well as journalists and politicians to observe the situation in the coastal area.

The team said it hoped to have supplies and sponsors organized by the end of April, and hope to set sail for the Gaza Strip between 25 and 31 May. The flotilla will include 5-10 boats from several nations.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The quiet courage demonstrated by these people, knowing what may well confront them on this journey, is something to be applauded.

The eyes of the world will no longer remain shut to the vicious desperation engineered by the Israeli siege.

And a note to the Israeli government: making these people into martyrs for attempting to deliver humanitarian aid will only raise an international chorus of condemnation against the lengths Israel has gone to destroy Gaza.

And this time, it will have financial consequences, which unfortunately appears to be the only thing the Israeli government understands.

Barack Obama: Crime Boss

Today’s crisis represents "the bursting of the huge 25-year, almost $50 trillion debt bubble that helped underwrite the hijacking of the US economy by a rabid financial sector…" It’s realigning global power with America losing its economic leadership won in WW II.

"The ignominy deserved by Wall Street after 1929-1933 is peanuts compared with the opprobrium the US financial sector and its political and regulatory allies deserve this time." Financialized America radically transformed the country, now "doubly staggering because of the crushing burden of its collapse."

Webmaster's Commentary:

We have not seen even the beginnings of an outpouring of public rage concerning what has been done to We the People by these knuckleheads.

The question is, how that rage is likely to play out, and whether it leads to an organized (and hopefully, peaceful) movement dedicated to throwing the liars out of government, no matter which side of the isle they come from in Congress.

The Reawakened Specter of Iraqi Civil War

April has already been a cruel month in Iraq. A spate of bombings aimed at Shi'i civilians in Baghdad has raised fears that the grim sectarian logic that led the capital to civil war in 2005-2007 will reassert itself. On April 6, a string of six car bombs killed at least 37 people; the next day, shortly after President Barack Obama landed in Baghdad, another car bomb killed eight; and on the morrow, still another bomb blew up close to the historic Shi'i shrine in Kadhimiyya just northwest of the capital’s central districts, taking an additional seven civilian lives.

Webmaster's Commentary:

You have to ask yourself who the real winner in the US invasion of Iraq has actually been.

That can be summed up in one word: Iran.

And the US is no closer to extracting Iraq's oil than the day before the invasion began.

And all of these amazing unintended consequences have been purchased with your taxpayer dollars, and with billions in borrowing by the Federal government, which it, of course, expects you and your kids to repay.

Digital World: What creeps under the Internet rocks

For example, one of the premier internet anti-Semites runs his site (and home business) from the suburbs of Honolulu, Hawaii. This blogger, who claims to know "what really is happening" in the world, is a radical leftist/liberal type, whose site gets a fair amount of traffic, and seems to be a source of material for many other anti-Semitic blogs. Most of his content consists of links to "legitimate" news sites, with his commentary.

Note, incidentally, that I haven't mentioned this person's name, or site; the reason is that Wikipedia recently banned a biography page on this guy, because he's famous only among conspiracy theory nuts. Were Democrats Aware About the CIA's Torture Program?

According to former CIA Director Michael Hayden and former Attorney General Michael Mukasey, the brutal interrogation methods, such as slamming a detainee’s head against the wall dozens of times and the use of waterboarding, "were disclosed repeatedly in more than 30 congressional briefings and hearings beginning in 2002, and open to all members of the Intelligence Committees of both Houses of Congress beginning in September 2006."

Webmaster's Commentary:

No congress person walks away clean on this.

An American which tortures can no longer be the "land of the free and the home of the brave".

Through the allowing and enabling the use of torture and intrusive surveillance, congress allowed this country to become "the land of the cowed and the home of the snitch."

Lessons of the Mengele Affair

In its sensationalized treatment of the Mengele story, the mass media ignored what is probably the most important lesson of this entire affair. Right up until the summer of 1985. when it was conclusively established that Mengele had been dead since 1979, the "Holocaust experts" and professional "Nazi hunters" solemnly insisted that the German doctor was alive. Most of them maintained that he was hiding in Paraguay.

Webmaster's Commentary:

John Demjanjuk has already been charged with being Ivan the Terrible, convicted, sentenced to death, and almost executed when the charges against him were revealed to be false. Now he faces a second trial based on a single written note whose author is dead and unavailable for cross examination.

Careful examination continues to reveal that the media stories about Nazis are at the best inaccurate, at worst outright fabrications. In the Mengele case, reports that he was seen alive in 1984 and 1985 were clearly propagandistic lies since Mengele had actually died in 1979.

Maybe it is time for a great deal more skepticism to be applied to some of the hysterical claims presented as "evidence" against the targets of the Jewish state.

Janet Reno Awarded the Justice Award by the American Judicature Society

The award is the highest honor given by the society for Reno's devotion and dedication to the administration of justice in the United States.

Webmaster's Commentary:

By awarding this to Reno (right before the 16th anniversary of the Waco massacre), the American Judicature Society has absolutely blown any bit of professional credibility they may have ever had with this despicable perversion.

Of course, this country has a long history of rewarding those who do the dirty work necessary to achieve the results desired by certain interests in the US government.

Reno gave the order to gas a church-full of woman and children at Waco with CS gas which, cannot be used in war internationally by treaty. The dispersal agent used in conjunction with this gas causes lunges to melt.

CIA waterboarded Al Qaeda suspect 183 times in 1 month, memo reveals

Perhaps more shocking than these newly revealed torture methods is a memo's reference to the fact that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (still in U.S. custody) was waterboarded 183 times in March 2003 and Abu Zubaydah (the man who allegedly fears insects) was waterboarded 83 times in August 2002.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This has nothing to do with intelligence gathering, and everything to do with the collective mental illness of the torturers doing this, who obviously derived tremendous emotional pleasure from the process.

We have known from the times of the Catholic Inquisition that torture doesn't produce intelligence; it simply gets the tortured person to say whatever they think their torturers want to hear to get the torture to stop. Torture is never about obtaining the truth: it is about garnering confessions, period, end of discussion.

American officials predict dangerous insurgency, collapse of Pakistani government

The forecast for the Pakistani state is troubled at best, according to multiple senior intelligence sources and analysts. Many are predicting an imminent collapse, contingent on continued American assassinations in the region.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears that what the US has been doing inside Pakistan was bound to cause more instability, and not less.

If the instability was not intentional (i.e., to give the US and NATO the justification to "save Pakistan from itself" by installing a more American-friendly puppet government), a complete destabilization of Pakistan has to be seen as "The Mother of All Unintended Consequences" in this already fragile region, courtesy of US state department's and Pentagon's "planning".

Actually, the bible says that God gave Israel to the 12 tribes that followed Moses (Akhenaten) out of Egypt. The Bible even mentions specific assignments. Jerusalem, for example, was given to the tribe of Benjamin.

Mary Magdalene was supposedly of the surviving members of the house of Benjamin, while the Historical Jesus was of the house of David. Their pairing was thus a dynastic match intended to merge and consolidate power.

Antarctic ice is growing, not melting away

ICE is expanding in much of Antarctica, contrary to the widespread public belief that global warming is melting the continental ice cap.

The results of ice-core drilling and sea ice monitoring indicate there is no large-scale melting of ice over most of Antarctica, although experts are concerned at ice losses on the continent's western coast.

Janeane Garofalo Slams 9/11 Commission’s ‘Pitiful’ Investigation

FLASHBACK:Garofalo clearly indicated the need for a new 9/11 investigation, but had doubts that any truth would emerge from any official efforts for many, many years to come, slamming the 9/11 Commission’s “pitiful” investigation, which was never meant to uncover the truth.

Report: Bush-era torture orders enforced by top officials

The first use of waterboarding and other harsh treatment against suspected Al-Qaeda operative Abu Zubaydah was ordered by senior Central Intelligence Agency officials over objections from his interrogators, The New York Times reported Saturday.

The newly released Justice Department documents indicate the psychologist provided ideas, practical advice and even legal justification for interrogation methods that would break Zubaidah physically and mentally, The Post noted.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This psychologist, whoever they were, was obviously an interesting piece of work, intellectually and emotionally.

Mengele would have been so proud of this person.

UN torture investigator: Obama has broken International law

“Like all other contracting states to the UN convention against torture, the US has committed to conduct criminal investigations of torture and to bring all persons to court against whom there is sound evidence,” Manfred Nowak, the UN’s Special Rapporteur on torture, told Austrian weekly paper Der Standard.

“They are party to the convention and the convention is very, very clear,” Nowak told the paper. “The fact that you carried out an order doesn’t relieve you of your responsibility.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder just how soon the UN will - again - become "irrelevant" to yet another American administration.

Police beat another G20 protester

GRAPHIC new video evidence showing a policeman hitting a protester with a shield during the G20 demonstrations in London is being released by The Sunday Times today.

Lawyers have included this and another film of a policeman punching a man as part of a dossier alleging 10 serious assaults. It will be passed to MPs.

Footage filmed at the Climate Camp protest on April 1 shows an officer in riot gear punching a man hard in the face as a crowd retreats from a police line.

A second video shows Alex Kinnane, 24, an IT technician from London, being hit on the back of the head with a shield by an officer in riot gear. In both cases the victims appear to pose no threat to the officer.

Politically Incorrect Guide to the Great Depression, New Deal

* FDR did not get us out of the Great Depression; instead, he prolonged it
* The Fed deserves most of the blame for the bubble and the crash in 2008
* Herbert Hoover and George Bush have more in common than one thinks
* The free market did not cause the crash of 1929 or the Great Depression, and government intervention did not end it

Conspiracy Theorists Were Right All Along!

The Department of Homeland Security is warning "law enforcement officials" (jackbooted criminal types) about a rise in "rightwing extremist activity," but a footnote in this report by the Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis defines rightwing extremism as "including not just racist or hate groups, but also groups that (don’t miss this part) reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority." If I’m interpreting this correctly, this report is going after anyone who dares to question federal authority.

Israelis warn of Eritrea flashpoint

Security sources say Israel and Iran are conducting rival intelligence operations in Eritrea, the poor African state on the Red Sea.

The Israelis fear Eritrea could be a flashpoint if Iranian Revolutionary Guards continue to ship arms to militants in Gaza via the Eritrean port of Assab. Israel is said to have two Eritrean bases, one a “listening post” for signals intelligence, the other a supply base for its German-built submarines.

Dumbass celebrity liberal plays the race card

I understand that the Tea Parties were a mixed bag with lots of warmongering republicans there, but there were also a lot people who were protesting about legitimate things like taxes and the emerging police state. For Janeane Garofalo to characterize them as just racists is misleading and once again takes the focus away from the real issues. She's just another stupid party hack. Most liberals are hypocrites.

Debate Sharpens over Ward Churchill Verdict

The jury also awarded $1 in damages. Five out of the six jurors argued to pay Ward Churchill more in damages, but the jury as a whole could not agree. A juror who spoke to the press later explained their decision: “…it wasn’t a slap in his face or anything like that when we didn’t give him any money. It’s just that David Lane (Churchill’s attorney) kept saying this wasn’t about the money, and in the end, we took his word for that.”1 Professor Churchill said: “What was asked for—and what was delivered—was justice.”

Sucker Rally!

Sucker rallies (or bull traps) in a bear market are a time-honoured tradition. Bear markets see many rebounds, ranging from feeble rises of maybe 10 per cent over a period of a couple of weeks to ones that last years and recoup anywhere from 50 per cent to even over 100 per cent from the low. Call it from the little sucker to the really big sucker. Little suckers bring a wave of short-term euphoria that “This is the end of the bear,” while really big suckers make everyone forget about the previous drop, and then just when they believe it won’t happen again, they are slammed in the teeth. The former are wonderful for nimble traders; the latter are wonderful for those who possess a healthy skepticism and realize that this is a nice party but it will eventually end badly.

The Yesha Council of Settlements on Friday said that Israeli cooperation in the efforts to create a Palestinian state were to blame for the attempted terrorist attack on the West Bank settlement of Beit Haggai earlier in the day.

"The pressure being applied on Israel to help establish a state for these terrorist organizations only encourages the terrorists," Yesha Council leaders said in a statement on Friday.

Children and the war on terror

The Americans also once stripped and beat two Arab boys, ages fourteen and sixteen, who were turned over by the Pakistani guards at the detention center,” he said. “These guards told my son that they were very upset at this and said the boys were thrown like garbage onto a plane to Guantanamo. Women prisoners were also held there, apart from their husbands, and some were pregnant and forced to give birth in their cells. According to Mohammed, one woman also died in her cell because the guards could not get her to a hospital quickly enough.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This article also confirms that the Red Cross were not allowed to see the prisoners kept at the "black" sites. The NAZIs allowed the Red Cross full access to the slave labor camps in WW2. The Red Cross even had permanent offices at some of the camps.

A Taste of AFRICOM: Somalia did find peace and tried to stop piracy until the US bombed the shit out of it in 2006

Even though "Africa is united in rejecting US requests for a military headquarters" inside Africa, there are reports that "from oil rich northern Angola up to Nigeria, from the Gulf of Guinea to Morocco and Algeria, from the Horn of Africa down to Kenya and Uganda, and over the pipeline routes from Chad to Cameroon in the west, and from Sudan to the Red Sea in the east, US admirals and generals have been landing and taking off, meeting with local officials. They've conducted feasibility studies, concluded secret agreements, and spent billions from their secret budgets." This is the future that awaits Africa with AFRICOM and the agenda to control the "oil, and the diamonds, and the uranium, and the coltan."
