"... Secret CIA operations constitute the usually unseen efforts to shore up unjust, unpopular, minority governments, always with the hope that overt military intervention ... will not be necessary. The more successful CIA operations are, the more remote overt intervention becomes, and the more remote become reforms. Latin America in the 1960s is all the proof one needs." -- Philip Agee, CIA Diary, p561

The mysterious blue lagoons of MARS: Images appear to show 'pools' on red planet (although experts say it's an optical illusion)

An image has emerged showing what looks like hints of blue, liquid water gathering on Mars’ surface.

But according to the European Space Agency (Esa), these mysterious patches are nothing more than an optical illusion.

The blue areas, which can be seen within ragged Martian craters, are dark sediments that have built up over time.

WEBMASTER ADDITION: One of the pitfalls of science is called "confirmation bias", the desire to see what one expects to see. A classic case is the Apollo Moon rocks which when analyzed were foujnd to contain a slight amount of water. But since everyone "knew" the Moon had no water, NASA declared that the results had to be a laboratory contamination. Years later, other scientists and other probes to the Moon confirmed that there actually is water on the Moon, trapped by capillary action in the crystalline structure of the lunar soil.

However, when a former femme fatale who was allegedly sexually harassed by Arkansas Gov. The Myth That NATO Must Be in Europe

The U.S. and NATO are not spreading “democracy” to Saudi Arabia. Why is that? What about South Korea, Israel, or any other nation that plays by U.S., British, and ultimately NATO’s rules? The truth regarding U.S. and Western “crimes against humanity” should also be exposed, because who makes the United States and the West arbitrators of morality?

Will Crazy Saakashvili Start Another War From Odessa?

Odessa is considered as the single most potentially dangerous city by the Kiev regime and Ukrainian nazis themselves. The reason for that is that the city and the surrounding areas are solidly and massively pro-Russian and anti-nazi. Most of the nazis have, in fact, been imported from other regions, so we are talking about a few hundred Ukrainian nazi deathsquad members at most.
Yes, they currently are in firm control of the city thanks to their Gestapo-like methods, but they still are despised and hated. A much more powerful local force is the mob, most of which is still controlled by Kolomoisky who, according to many analysts, is the target of this bizarre nomination.
Indeed, Saakashvili is a US puppet and thus will not negotiate some kind of deal with Kolomoisky. In fact, Saakashvili will execute any anti-Kolomoisky order. In other words, we have have the Ukranian nazis and the US-controlled mobsters fighting for power against a backdrop of a largely pro-Russian population.

Ukraine in One Sentence: 'Our Leaders Are All Millionaires, and They Don't Want to Listen'

Not even German media can hide the sour mood in West Ukraine.
The average wage in nearby Novovolynsk, a city of 57,000 built in 1950 to support the then new mines, is $140 a month. Though locals say the most people not working in the mines can hope to make is $119. Here the economic crisis that followed the Maidan protests and the war - which destroyed 60 percent of the local currency’s value - has hit hard.
”What did we need all of that for? We’ve gotten nothing for it,” says Svetlana Shevchuk, 56, who is forced to live off of the state’s unemployment payments, now worth $20 a month.

The first day of June 2015 ended up being the coldest June day on record for many areas in southern New England. Boston’s failure to reach 50 degrees made it feel like April. The somewhat farcical journey home from Europe for Secretary of State John Kerry continues. As we noted previously, after breaking his leg on an arbidged Tour de France'-esque accident in which he hit a curb, he was flown to Geneva in a helicopter where he was "stable and never lost consciousness," which makes sense (unless as many have suggested his brain lies considerably lower in his body than most humans).

Wall Street Banker Deaths Continue; Where Are the Serious Investigations?

Last Thursday, 29-year old Thomas J. Hughes, later described by his brother as “one of the happiest people I know,” allegedly took his life by jumping from a luxury apartment building at 1 West Street in Manhattan. Before any serious investigation had taken place, the New York tabloids had dismissed the matter as a suicide. Hughes was an investment banker on Wall Street.

In any serious investigation, law enforcement is required to look at any potential motive for foul play. But when it comes to serial deaths among Wall Street bankers and technology personnel, occurring repeatedly over the last 18 months in highly unusual circumstances, the deaths are almost instantaneously labeled non-suspicious by the police. But there are two glaring motives for foul-play in almost all of these deaths involving Wall Street or global banks.

Longtime Bill Clinton sex-assault accuser says Hillary 'enabled it to happen again and again and again and again'

A woman who played a starring role in former president Bill Clinton's public evolution from boy wonder to sexual lothario says Hillary Clinton is partly to blame for 'enabling' his behavior and shouldn't be elected president herself.

Kathleen WIlley, now 69, made a splash in 1998 by claiming in a '60 Minutes' interview that Bill Clinton had sexually assaulted her during a Oval Office meeting in 1993.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What really makes this sick is that Kathleen's husband, Clinton Fundraiser Ed Willey, was killed on the same day Bill assaulted his wife. Found in a Virginia woods, Willey had died from a shotgun blast to the head. Despite no suicide note and the difficulty of using a long gun to shoot oneself in the head, the death was declared a suicide. Willey was one of Bill Clinton's four top fundraisers, all of whom died under suspicious circumstances in the first 6 months of Bill's Presidency, including White House Deputy Council Vincent Foster!

Near certainty of targeted drone attacks sow death for an apology

The 2015 film "Good Kill," directed by Andrew Niccol, has placed the question of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), or drones, used in the Middle East and Islamic territories for some 10 years now and always the subject of debate because of the devastation they wreak, back on the agenda.
The film deals with attacks made using UAVs against Taliban militants in Afghanistan. However, these attacks are not directed from Afghanistan, but from a military base in Las Vegas, Nevada, thousands of kilometers away. Officers identify places and people to be bombed from images on the screens in front of them being transmitted by UAV cameras. They lock onto their targets as easily as if they were playing a computer game, and destroy them with a single press of a key.

Canada’s Devolution: From Peace Seeker to War Crimes

Canada’s recent international role includes being a serial participant in US-NATO wars of aggression – which at Nuremberg was deemed the greatest crime. Organized mass murder of people and the destruction of their infrastructure, not as an act of self defense; blowing babies to bloody bits, reducing homes to rubble, this is the stuff of ‘wars of aggression’.

The typical contemporary template for perpetrating wars of aggression is to demonize the victims, and to justify, even sanctify, the perpetrator. And it is not unknown in the modern era, progress being what it is, to explain to the victims that it was a beneficent act to conquer them, occupy them, plunder them, murder them, wound them, destroy their country.

The aggressor usually has a large military advantage, and in the modern context, destroying the designated victim may feature banal distant mechanical and electronic acts, push a button, turn a dial, the perpetrators remote and safe.

Washington Blows Itself Up With Its Own Bomb. US Strategy Backfires

These are sad days in Washington and Wall Street. The key actor who has catalyzed a global defiance of Washington as Sole Superpower is Vladimir Putin, Russia’s President. But like connected vehicles and their onboard multimedia systems, these new self-driving technology elements, which are meant to make the cars safe and reliable, could end up leaving them vulnerable to hacker strikes, according to US security firms Mission Secure Inc (MSi) and Perrone Robotics Inc.

The organic food market is estimated at $63 billion globally, with more than half of those sales occuring in the United States. Evidently, Jewish liberals are angry with me for unveiling the deceit that is embedded in such an attitude. They have invested a great effort attempting to silence me, and for a good reason - I have produced some persuasive arguments suggesting that Jewish solidarity is not the solution, it is actually the core of the problem.

German Federal Prosecutor ‘investigating’ US actions on drones base

The German Federal Prosecutor is reported to have begun investigating a US base in Germany that is used as a ‘hub’ for drone strikes, days after a Yemeni man testified in a Cologne court about the 2012 strike that killed his relatives.

According to a report in Der Spiegel, the Federal Prosecutor’s Office – Germany’s highest prosecuting authority – has launched a ‘monitoring process’ to ascertain whether activities at Ramstein, a US base in Germany, violate international law. The officials have reportedly requested documents from German authorities, including the Ministry of Defence, relating to the base – which was recently revealed to be a ‘hub’ for the facilitation of drone strikes in Yemen and elsewhere. US drone strikes in countries such as Yemen, where the US has not declared war, have killed hundreds of civilians, and are widely regarded as a violation of international law.

JPMorgan Tech Workers Have New Conspiracy Theories

The fact that JPMorgan Chase holds an estimated $179 billion in life insurance on its workers, and in some cases, prior workers, whose death benefit pays to the bank not the family of the employee, has raised concerns of more than just trading conspiracies at JPMorgan Chase.

Now, according to Sarah Butcher at EFinancialCareers, at least two executives at JPMorgan have forbidden their technology workers from explaining exactly what they do at the bank on their LinkedIn profiles. One tech worker imagines that it’s a plot to restrict their ability to market their skills to prospective competitors as JPMorgan moves tech workers from the glitter of London to cheaper corporate digs in Bournemouth, England or Glasgow, Scotland. Says one worker, according to Butcher, “We’ve been joking that the plan is to make us technologists invisible in the market and then forcing us to move to Bournemouth or Glasgow.”

In other words, Rand Paul has snatched a small step in the direction of liberty and coupled it with a call for an increase in an enforcement arm of government. From a libertarian perspective, it is clear Rand Paul can't be trusted on any issue and I really feel sorry for you supporters that have to come up with ever more absurd defenses of Rand.

Israeli forces demolish 3 houses in East Jerusalem

Israeli forces demolished three Palestinian homes in the Silwan neighborhood and Salah al-Din street in occupied East Jerusalem early Tuesday morning, the owners told Ma’an.

They were told that the houses were demolished because they had been built without necessary licenses from the municipal council.

Nidal Abu Rmeila said bulldozers under Israeli army escort had demolished two apartments, totaling 140 square meters, that he had been building in Silwan near the Moroccan Gate of the Al-Aqsa mosque compound.

Abu Rmeila said he had not been able to obtain a license from the Jerusalem municipality as the building was located close to the Al-Aqsa compound in an area he claimed the Israeli antiquities authority is “greedily” interested in.

Microsoft And The IRS Are Fighting Again

Microsoft Corp. and the IRS are back in court, this time fighting about the U.S. tax agency’s interest in hiring David Boies, the lawyer who beat Microsoft in an antitrust case in 2000.

The software company filed a federal lawsuit May 29 in Seattle, marking the latest legal flurry over an ongoing Internal Revenue Service audit. At issue are “tens of billions of dollars” in corporate income, according to the IRS.

Microsoft is asking a court to enforce its public-records request for documents on the government’s decision to enter into a contract with Boies Schiller & Flexner LLP in 2013.

Besides the possible return of Boies as a Microsoft adversary, the case is notable because of its size and the amount of public legal wrangling even before the IRS completes its audit. Microsoft has questioned the IRS’s decision to use outside lawyers and amend its regulations to allow non-government employees to question witnesses under oath.

#1 Arms Supplier to Global Insurgent Groups? USA! USA! USA!

"The world is awash with weapons. From Syria and Iraq, to the deserts of the Sahel, to the Nigerian bush, it’s a good time to be a guerrilla fighter — in no small part because it’s so outrageously easy to acquire the kind of weaponry necessary to carry out insurgent warfare"

That fact of 21st century life is made clear by the most recent edition of the Small Arms Survey: Weapons and the World, a report that found the value of the global small arms trade has nearly doubled between 2001 and 2011. Since then, it has continued to increase, with just over $5 billion in arms transferred in 2012. Because of the opaque nature of the global small arms market the full total may very well be higher.

In all, the United States continues to dominate the global small arms market

The "Pod People" And The PlaneThat Crashed Into the Pentagon

As we run up to yet another anniversary of the 9-11 false-flag attacks, the government's controlled assets on the web are once again pushing the "no plane at the Pentagon" hoax as hard as they can, to give the corporate media an easy means to discredit those who question the official story while avoiding the really tough questions like, "Why did the BBC announce the collapse of World Trade Center 7 twenty six minutes before it actually happened?" Or, "How did President Bush's Secret Service know he was not a target sitting in that school on Florida?"

The media cannot ask, let alone answer, those questions, so the propagandists gin up this "No plane" theory and plant it online to give the corporate media an easy handle with which to ridicule and dismiss the whole idea of doubting the official story of 9-11.

This is an old intelligence trick called "Poisoning the well", the intentional promotion of lies to blend with an embarrassing truth to discredit it.

Laws against Holocaust denial

The argument that laws punishing Holocaust denial are incompatible with the European Convention on Human Rights and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights have been rejected by institutions of the Council of Europe (the European Commission of Human Rights,[7] the European Court of Human Rights[8]) and also by the United Nations Human Rights Committee.
