Russia Threatens Retaliatory Buildup Over US Weapons Deployments

Fresh off of Pentagon officials talking up plans to send multiple brigades worth of battle tanks and heavy weaponry to nations along the Russian border to “pre-position” for future events, the Russian government is threatening their own retaliatory buildup in the same region.

Russian Defense Ministry officials say the deployments in response will likely include a missile brigade in Kaliningrad, a Russian enclave along the Baltic Sea that borders both Poland and Lithuania. They said other deployments were also possible.

And even though US officials were only yesterday touting their deployments as meant to reassure Eastern Europe of their support against Russia, Pentagon officials now insist that the Russians should not consider the deployments a threat and shouldn’t react at all.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am having a palm to forehead moment, at velocity, upon reading this; such escalation by both sides can only end badly.

Telegraph: Perhaps the world's conspiracy theorists have been right all along

We used to laugh at conspiracy theorists, but from Fifa to banking scandals and the Iraq War, it seems they might have been on to something after all, says Alex Proud

Conspiracy theories used to be so easy.

You’d have your mate who, after a few beers, would tell you that the moon landings were faked or that the Illuminati controlled everything or that the US government was holding alien autopsies in Area 51. And you’d be able to dismiss this because it was all rubbish.

Skyrocketing Drug Prices Leave Sick US Patients Without Medicine

Prescription drug spending last year broke records, pulling in $374 billion for pharmaceutical companies, up 13% from the year prior. It was the largest boost seen in the last decade, and the skyrocketing profits are due largely to medications that have just been put into use in the past two years.

Russia Embraces Yuan in Move Against U.S. Dollar Hegemony

Russian financial authorities, energy companies and state-controlled banks are stepping up their use of China's yuan currency as Western sanctions spur diversification away from the U.S. dollar.

In recent weeks, major Russian institutions have lined up to announce moves to use the yuan, which will likely emerge as the key challenger to global dollar supremacy this century.

The dollar's status as the world's reserve currency has amplified the impact of U.S. sanctions imposed last year over Moscow's actions in Ukraine by making financial institutions nervous of violating U.S. rules, prodding Russia to embrace other currencies.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The dollar is going to be going through some very tough times in the not too distant future.

What concerns me is how willing some of the pols are to even contemplate war against both Russia and China to prevent this. And there is no guarantee that, in a conventional military conflict, that the US military can provide a positive outcome, because we do not have the money, the troop strength, or the manufacturing to underpin a positive outcome.

Russia Policy Escalates: DoD Tells Congress Nukes Are Still On The Table

The War Party is a veritable propaganda machine, churning out product 24/7. Armed with nearly unlimited resources, both from government(s) and the private sector, they carpet-bomb the public with an endless stream of lies in order to soften them up when it’s time to roll. In the past, their job has been relatively easy: simply order up a few atrocity stories – Germans bayoneting babies, Iraqis dumping over babies in incubators – and we’ve got ourselves another glorious war. These days, however, over a decade of constant warfare – and a long string of War Party fabrications – has left the public leery.

And that’s cause for optimism. People are waking up.

Webmaster's Commentary:

DC is dealing with infinitely more skepticism than it knows what to do with, and knows, collectively, that people barely believe a word of what they say anymore, because most of what is coming out of Washington these days is simply lies to support an agenda, usually that of the military industrial complex, aiming to make more money.

A Sneak Preview Of The Horror That Is Windows 10

Windows 10 is one of the most anticipated and critical operating systems in Microsoft's history. To put it bluntly, Microsoft has struggled to keep up with changing user needs over the past few years, having released a series of operating systems which have contained a number of gross missteps. Windows 10 promises to address those challenges. But does it meet those promises?

As the resident technical expert here at Cracked, I had to find out, and after using the industry contacts I've built up over a lengthy career writing jokes about dongs, I managed to get a sneak preview. Here's what I found.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am not going to install Windows 10 even if it IS free, because then I will have to purchase new versions of all my animation, recording, and graphics tools, which I simply cannot afford to do at this time.

Reporter Who Wrote Sunday Times 'Snowden' Propaganda Admits That He's Just Writing What UK Gov't Told Him

Either way, one of the journalists who wrote the story, Tom Harper, gave an interview to CNN which is quite incredible to watch. Harper just keeps repeating that he doesn't know what's actually true, and that he was just saying what the government told him -- more or less admitting that his role here was not as a reporter, but as a propagandist or a stenographer.

Webmaster's Commentary:

According to Glenn Greenwald, Snowden destroyed all those files before he went to Russia. So the whole story was total made-up garbage from top to bottom.

Gap Is Shutting Down 175 Stores

Gap plans to close 175 of its namesake stores in North America, or 18 percent of its current total, and cut 250 jobs at its headquarters as the company tries to strengthen the struggling brand.

Gap Inc., which owns Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic, said Monday it will close about 140 Gap stores in North America in the fiscal year that ends Jan. 31 — and the remainder afterward — based on factors that include location and performance. The San Francisco company also is closing an undisclosed number of stores in Europe. And it's cutting jobs at its headquarters in an attempt to make it faster and more decisive.

An American Oligarch‘s Dirty Tale of Corruption

Rarely does the world get a true look inside the corrupt world of Western oligarchs and the brazen manipulations they use to enhance their fortunes at the expense of the public good. The following comes from correspondence of the Hungarian-born billionaire, now naturalized American speculator, George Soros. The hacker group CyberBerkut has published online letters allegedly written by Soros that reveal him not only as puppet master of the US-backed Ukraine regime. They also reveal his machinations with the US Government and the officials of the European Union in a scheme where, if he succeeds, he could win billions in the plunder of Ukraine assets. All, of course, would be at the expense of Ukrainian citizens and of EU taxpayers.

Obama, Boehner abandon plans for Tuesday trade vote

President Obama and his momentary Republican allies in Congress mulled several difficult choices Monday for rescuing trade legislation into which the president has invested a massive amount of political capital in the hope of completing a 12-nation trade deal across the Pacific Rim.

After successful Democratic efforts to block the president’s trade package, Obama and House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) spoke by phone and consulted their respective top lieutenants as they tried to find a path to success, according to senior aides. Their first call was to abandon plans for a second vote Tuesday on a piece of legislation that must also pass for the entire package to advance to Obama’s desk. Given the grim outcome for Obama of the first vote on Friday — 302 against and 126 in favor — they stood no chance for turning nearly 100 votes in four days.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Should this be passed, this legislation will be a total sellout of the American people to large corporations, both foreign and domestic, and will further kill jobs in this country.

Any politician backing this is a total, complicit traitor to the American people they allegedly represent.

To those of us who see the prison that’s being erected around us, it’s a bit easier to realize what’s coming up ahead, and it’s not pretty. However, and this must be emphasized, what most Americans perceive as life in the United States of America is a far cry from reality. Real agendas and real power are always hidden.

As Author Frantz Fanon notes, “Sometimes people hold a core belief that is very strong. When they are presented with evidence that works against that belief, the new evidence cannot be accepted. It would create a feeling that is extremely uncomfortable, called cognitive dissonance. And because it is so important to protect the core belief, they will rationalize, ignore and even deny anything that doesn’t fit in with the core belief.”

Take the warning signs seriously. And take action because the paths to destruction are well disguised by those in control.

GOP Leadership’s Latest Obamatrade Ploy Revealed: Small Business Tax Hike That Violates GOP’s Anti-Tax Pledge

Establishment Republicans desperately trying to secure the passage of Trade Promotion Authority (TPA), which would give President Obama fast-track authority to secure congressional approval of at least three secretive trade deals, are now willing to increase taxes on small businesses in a way that would violate a pledge almost every Republican Congressman has taken when elected into office.

U.S. House Looks To Buy Time For Obama's Trade Agenda

Under the House rules, the leadership could try again to pass just TAA, which would complete that aforementioned legislative package. But the shot clock is about to expire. The re-vote has to happen today, or it all expires.

But on Capitol Hill, there's always another loophole or a trap door or a bookshelf that slides over to reveal a hidden room. And that's where we're at now.

At about 1:15 p.m., the House will vote on a rule change to extend the "Motion to Reconsider" for the TAA title of the fast-track legislative package. In other words, the House would give itself until July 30 to come up with some sort of compromise that would allow TAA to move forward, bringing TPA along with it and making it possible to finish TPP.

Webmaster's Commentary:

UPDATE: The new deadline to get TAA through the House has been extended to July 30. They couldn't get what they wanted under the rules, so they just changed the rules.

One of the popular myths keeping drug prohibition alive is the idea that there would be a drastic increase in underage drug use if legalization were to take effect. However, most available data on this subject shows that legalization does not encourage underage drug use, and may even reduce it.

According to a recent study on marijuana legalization, use among teens has actually dropped in states where the herb is no longer prohibited. The study took data from over 1 million teens from various states, over the course of 24 years.

Showdown Between Judge Sullivan and IRS This Week…Expect Fireworks and Possible Criminal Charges

Let’s begin with the emails that traveled between the IRS and the White House. I suggest you duct tape your head before continuing to read. The IRS sent emails to the White House containing confidential taxpayer information. Congress wants those emails as well as Cause of Action, who filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for them. Sending out taxpayer’s confidential information is a federal crime. So, when will the emails be handed over? Never. Jacob Lew of the Treasury Department refuses to turn them over because………….drum roll, please. They contain confidential taxpayer information. Duh!

Golda Meir exhibition in Giza raises Egyptian fury

An Egyptian museum has triggered uproar after displaying a photo of former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir in an exhibition about pioneering women.

Meir – who was prime minister during a Middle East war between Egypt and Israel in 1973 – was displayed as part of the exhibition hosted by the Pharaonic Village in Giza.

“The Pharaonic village has placed [Golda] Meir among pioneering women. This is a scandal,” prominent writer Farida Choubachy tweeted.

The fair featured sections devoted to prominent women like Queen Hatshepsut, Queen Cleopatra, Egyptian feminist Huda Sharawi and former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

The exhibition also included a photo of former First Lady Suzanne Mubarak, the wife of former President Hosni Mubarak, who was ousted in a popular uprising in 2011.

Former TV anchor loses N-word lawsuit

AFTER LESS THAN three hours of deliberation yesterday, an all-white jury decided that former Fox 29 anchor Tom Burlington had not been fired for racial reasons.

Burlington was terminated on July 12, 2007, after using the N-word during a June 23, 2007, staff meeting about the Philadelphia Council of the NAACP's symbolic burial of the infamous epithet.

"Does this mean we can finally say, 'N-----'?" Burlington testified he'd said in the meeting. However, Anne Malone, to whom Fox 29 referred Burlington for sensitivity training, wrote that he had said the word three times in rapid succession during the June 23 meeting.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We allow words to have too much power over us.

Newborn babies are not shocked by words, or nudity, or certain lifestyles. WE are all CONDITIONED to be shocked by these things to make us useful to the people doing the conditioning. A politician teaches children to be shocked by a word then gets elected promising to ban the word. BEX Alert!!! - "In Breaking Her Silence, Rachel Dolezal Says, ‘I Identify as Black’ "

In her first interview since being accused of misrepresenting her racial background and stepping down as an N.A.A.C.P. official, Rachel A. Dolezal did not back down on Tuesday, stating “I identify as black,” although she comes from a white family.

When Matt Lauer of NBC’s “Today” show asked, “When did you start deceiving people,” Ms. Dolezal did not concede that she had done so.

“I do take exception to that, because it’s a little more complex than me identifying as black, or answering a question of, ‘Are you black or white?’” she said.

She said her identification with black people went back as far as when she was 5 years old. “I was drawing self-portraits with the brown crayon instead of the peach crayon, and the black curly hair,” she said.

But when shown a picture of her as a teenager with fair skin and straight, blond hair, she conceded that at that time, she did not identify as black.
