How To Destroy the Government in Three Easy Steps

In eight short years, conservatives have effectively bankrupted many state governments and left the fed in shambles. And now citizens have to "make tough decisions" and share the suffering equally across the land (unless of course, you're part of that lucky 1% who co-opted the functions of government to serve their own ends... they'll be cozy with their offshore bank accounts, golden parachutes, and permanent tax holidays).

Of Patriots and Assassins

Realizing the assaults would not end, Freeman last week withdrew, saying, "I do not believe the National Intelligence Council could function effectively while its chair was under constant attack by unscrupulous people with a passionate attachment to the views of a political faction of a foreign country."

The foreign country is Israel; the political faction Likud.

Nor did Freeman shrink at naming the source of the noxious campaign of slander against him.

"The tactics of the Israel lobby plumb the depths of dishonor and indecency and include character assassination, selective misquotation, the willful distortion of the record, the fabrication of falsehoods and an utter disregard for the truth."

Military Laser Hits Battlefield Strength

Does that mean energy weapons are a done deal? Hardly. There are still all sorts of technical issues -- thermal management and miniaturization, to name two -- that have to be handled first. Then, the ray gunners have to find the money. The National Academies figure it'll take another $100 million to get battlefield lasers right.

Why does the US (really Israel) object to Iran's DEFENSIVE weapons?

It is unreasonable for Russia to object to our missile shield but we object to Iran's defensive weapons?

Supplying S-300s to Iran would change the military balance in the Middle East and the issue has been the subject of intense speculation and diplomatic wrangling for months.

Israel and the U.S. fear that, were Iran to possess S-300 missiles, it would use them to protect its nuclear facilities — including the uranium enrichment plant at Natanz or the country's first atomic power plant, which is now being built by Russian contractors at Bushehr.

Death of the Internet

More and more I'm hearing alarmism about the "takeover of the internet" or the "death of the internet". Dollar Trades Near 2-Month Low on Fed’s Plan to Buy Treasuries

The dollar traded near the lowest in two months against the euro after the Federal Reserve said it will buy $300 billion of longer-term Treasuries, spurring speculation the central bank is debasing the currency.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When the Fed buys "Treasuries", what they are buying is YOU, and a pledge that you will work off that debt in the years to come.

That is what the Treasuries are redeemable in... the sweat of your brow and the ache of your back.

Neo-Cons Try to Copy Ron Paul; Too Little, Too Late

There is a new phenomenon sweeping across the political landscape. It’s the new “revolution” complete with meet-up groups and tea parties. It’s full of the usual rhetoric about the out-of-control politicians in Washington. What’s strange is that this “movement” is full of new faces that were nowhere to be seen during the Ron Paul Revolution. This new “movement” is being promoted by the Republican party, and neo-con hacks like Glenn Beck - who all did their absolute utmost to slander, squelch, and stop the Ron Paul Revolution

U.S. Injecting Billions Into Foreign Central Banks

For more than a year, the U.S. Federal Reserve System has been increasingly acting as the world's central bank, injecting hundreds of billions of dollars into foreign government treasuries in an effort to increase liquidity in those countries.

The foreign central banks have used the U.S. currency to bail out financial institutions within their borders. The Fed program links its balance sheet directly to the fates of foreign central banks at a time when they're on the ropes.

Terrorism By Another Name: AIG Is Blackmailing America

When will people start demanding that the government rescind AIG's credit default swaps? The government has that power. Indeed, the same arguments which have been made for the government's authority to cancel AIG's bonus contracts can be used to cancel AIG's CDS contracts. In order to receive any more bailout money (and to have to give back money they already received), AIG's counterparties need to cancel their CDS contracts. And for foreign CDS counterparties, the government could simply say "we will not loan your central banks any more money unless you cancel the CDS contracts".

This Pope is stumbling from one outrageous blunder to another

It's been quite a few months for the Pope.

First there was that rather embarrassing de-excommunication of a renegade bishop who claims that the Nazis didn't use gas chambers during the Second World War.

Then the Vatican supported the excommunication of a Brazilian mother and four doctors who had helped perform an abortion on a 9-year-old girl who was raped by her stepfather and would have died had she given birth to the twins growing inside her tiny uterus. (The stepfather, by the way, was not excommunicated for his sin of raping a 9-year-old. In the eyes of the Catholic Church, it seems, child rapists can still be part of the flock, mothers who wish to save their child's life are not.)

The Madoff investigation is very similar to the 9-11 investigation in that evidence of a larger conspiracy is being avoided and ignored. It is possible that the billions that Madoff stole, and is still unaccounted for, was being used to finance Israel’s vast global spy and sabotage network Mossad with connections to both AIG and quite possibly 9/11 itself

"Getting Tough" with Predator Financial Institutions

Finally the US authorities have gotten ‘tough’ with the predator financial institutions. The world has been waiting for such decisive intervention since an unending series of Government bailouts of financial institutions began early in 2008 amounting to now trillions of taxpayer dollars. Now, with the world’s largest insurance giant, AIG, the White House Economic Council chairman, Larry Summers has expressed ‘outrage.’ President Obama himself has entered the fray to promise ‘justice.’ US Senators have threatened a law to change the injustice. The only problem is they are all exercising ‘politics of deflection,’ taking attention away from the real problem, the fraudulent bailout.

Looking In On America

Only in America can an employee working for a large international company sign a contract that guarantees the payment of a six figure bonus even if the company looses money. Even more astonishing is that the bonus is paid even if the Federal government bails the company out to the tune of $170 billion dollars. What a country! That is free wheeling capitalism like no one has ever seen before. And to think that the Republicans are complaining that the country is heading down the path to socialism. Truly amazing.

The Parable of the Shopping Mall

In town after town across America these days one can physically see the economic mantras of an entire generation turning to boarded-up wasteland before one’s eyes. Shopping malls, which changed the American landscape within the course of a generation, are dying week by week.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Bereft of his ability to fly and with nowhere to go, a courageous bat climbed aboard our Discovery with stars in his weak little eyes. Israel Guilty of War Crimes; Palestinians are Winning the Legitimacy War

Finally is the issue of the tactics and weapons that were used. There is a lot of eye-witness evidence that prohibited targets were struck, including several UN buildings; that civilians were deliberately targeted in an act of vengeance, apparently; and that legally dubious weapons were used in contexts where civilians were exposed to them, such as phosphorous bombs and a weapon called DIME, which involves a very intense explosive power that makes surgical and medical treatment impossible. So there's a whole bunch of issues that together create quite an inventory of violations of the law of war as well as violations of the UN Charter.

Website-infecting SQL injection attacks hit 450,000 a day

SQL attacks take aim at the database layer of websites. They typically were manual attacks designed to pilfer customer data from merchant websites. But last June someone figured out how to automate the attacks, and use them to plant infections.

Of Patriots and Assassins

He opposed the bombing of Serbia and said aloud what few privately deny: Reflexive support for Israel's repression of the Palestinian people is high among the reasons America is no longer seen as a beacon of liberation in the Arab and Muslim world.

Freeman echoed the Obama of yesterday, who bravely blurted, "Nobody is suffering more than the Palestinian people."

At MEPC, however, Freeman committed a great crime. He published The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy by Stephen Walt and John Mearsheimer, which went onto the New York Times bestseller list – and put Freeman on AIPAC's enemies list.

Washington Post Shows Its Hand

The Washington Post is apparently losing lots of money and may close in the foreseeable future, barring a deus ex machina intervention by some foreign billionaire such as saved the New York Times. While the decline of newspapers worldwide is regrettable, the Post's troubles are really good news, and bankruptcy would be a richly deserved fate for a rag that has been an enabler of every neocon fantasy for the past 20 years. Imagine no longer having to enjoy Charles Krauthammer, Fred Kagan, John Bolton, Bill Kristol, and Robert Kaplan with your morning coffee.

Democrats Finally Waking Up to the Ongoing Looting of the Economy

Just as a certain percentage of republicans refused to admit that rotten things were happening under the Bush administration, many democrats have fought to defend the Obama administration against charges of mishandling the response to the economic crisis.

The Real AIG Scandal

Everybody is rushing to condemn AIG's bonuses, but this simple scandal is obscuring the real disgrace at the insurance giant: Why are AIG's counterparties getting paid back in full, to the tune of tens of billions of taxpayer dollars?

Obama says Americans will get a good F.U.C.K.I.N.G.

President Obama unveiled his plan to help Americans with the slipping US dollar. "I feel your pain," President Obama stated, "And I am officially releasing my latest plan for righting the economy, called "Fixing Up Currency Keeping It New & Good," or as it will become known as F.U.C.K.I.N.G.

"Under my watch, Americans will get a good F.U.C.K.I.N.G. from the Treasury Department and my dear friend, Secretary Geithner. The Secretary has assured me this FUCKING will be relentless, in order to bring about a new order to this crisis by inflating our way out of this mess caused by our dear friends at the Federal Reserve

Is This Last Gasp for the Israel Lobby and the Neocons?

Is the Israel lobby in Washington an all-powerful force? Or is it, perhaps, running scared?

Judging by the outcome of the Charles W. ("Chas") Freeman affair this week, it might seem as if the Israeli lobby is fearsome indeed. Seen more broadly, however, the controversy over Freeman could be the Israel lobby's Waterloo.

Obama Received a $101,332 Bonus from AIG

Senator Barack Obama received a $101,332 bonus from American International Group in the form of political contributions according to Opensecrets.org. The two biggest Congressional recipients of bonuses from the A.I.G. are - Senators Chris Dodd and Senator Barack Obama.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That explains why Obama says he can do nothing about taxpayer money going to bonuses.

Rise of the Recessionista

SomethingCool.ca - A caller into CBC’s Sunday afternoon talk-radio show, Cross-Country Checkup, said that men like Stewart were doing the job the media should have done before the financial meltdown. “This is just like the war in Iraq,” the caller complained. “The media were asleep at the wheel and didn’t do their job.

Yes, leave it to MSN/Sympatico Finance to give us the crucial facts about how image plays a part in these troubling times. “What does appearance have to do with personal finance?” this outlet asked in a recent article entitled Why It Pays to be a ‘Recessionista. “At first glance - nothing. After all, what do hemlines have to do with home equity loans?”

The answer? “More than you think.” Oh man, this oughta be good.

Watching the market? Then Watch the Volume NOT the Index Level

What is going on right now is as contrived as it comes.

The chart shows a rising index price with declining demand for all stocks.

The same thing is going on in the futures industry, where oil is up 38% since Obama took office, and demand has fallen almost as much in the same period of time.

Hey, Rocky! Watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat!

Google Filters “The Give Act” - Mandatory Volunteerism

Does anyone know anything about HR 1388 and exactly what it is?? It will create a Uniformed Force of 250,000 members, that’s a force greater than the number of troops we now have in Iraq, a virtual army. A force of 5,000 per state if evenly divided, more realistically the force will be deployed according to the size and population of each state. It talks about a volunteer force, yet speaks of 3 year obligations as in a Draft, and a pay scale of from $17,000 to $22,000.

L.A. Times Op-Ed: Anti-Zionism Is Hate Crime

Zionists are attempting to equate anti-Semitism with anti-Zionism as a means of silencing opposition to their brutal political agenda. This has nothing to do with protecting Jewish people against racism and everything to do with shutting down criticism of the Israeli government and its warmongering policies which, with the support of the U.S. elite, have made life a living hell for both Jews and Muslims in the Middle East for centuries.

And while it may be somewhat premature to pass a final judgment on George Bush’s successor in the White House, the signs from Washington are not encouraging.

Obama has already surrounded himself with a large number of Israel Firsters from Rohm Emanuel to Dennis Ross. He has also shown signs of surrendering rather miserably to congressional pressure, especially on matters pertaining to Israel. The latest “Freeman affair” is surely a worrying example.
