State Department Floating Ammo Import Ban?

Ammos listed for this rumored ban include the .50BMG, 7.62x39mm Soviet, 7.62x51mm NATO, .308 Winchester, 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington. Additionally, we're hearing that an expansion of this proposed ban might be broadened to include the 6.8mm SPC, 9mm Parabellum, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP- among others.

White House says world can't delay on Iran

The White House says the international community must work together to urgently address Iran's uranium enrichment activities.

Press secretary Robert Gibbs said Friday that point is underscored by a United Nations report that said Tehran had amassed enough uranium to make an atom bomb.

He said the report by the U.N.'s International Atomic Energy Agency represented "another lost opportunity" for Iran as it continues to "renege" on its international obligations.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is insane.

Iran is not reneging on its international obligations. Under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, signed by both Iran and the United States, Iran has a legal right, recognized by the US under that treaty, to build nuclear power stations and to manufacture the fuel rods for them. and that is what Iran is doing. The uranium they have enriched is enriched to levels usable by power stations, but is far from being bomb grade material.

Everything Iran is doing is legal activity under the NNPT and nobody has found any evidence of bomb grade materials or the manufacturing of a weapon.

Obama is playing the exact same dumb trick Bush used to start the war in Iraq to start a war in Iran.

The only reason for a new war in Iran is first to satisfy Israel's demands, and second, Obama is certain a new war will distract Americans from the collapsing economy, itself at least partly the result of the profligate spending in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The US got itself out of self-created economic messes with World Wars, and it appears that it the strategy being followed by the White House.

If you do not choose to fight against these warmongers now, you will soon have no choice but to fight for them from now on.

AIPAC Spy Case: New Ruling May Lead to Acquittal

As noted in the new opinion, Mr. Leonard will testify for the defense on the “pervasive practice of over-classification of information,” “the practice of high level officials of disclosing classified information to unauthorized persons (e.g. journalists and lobbyists),” whether the classified information in this case qualifies for protection under the Espionage Act, and “whether… the defendants reasonably could have believed that their conduct was lawful.”

In other words, the prosecution probably just lost this case.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In other words, the defense will claim that the information shouldn't have been classified in the first place, therefore Steven J. Rosen and Keith Weissman are not guilty of spying.

But that's not the real scandal in this case. The real issue isn't the information that went from the US through AIPAC to Israel but the disinformation coming back the opposite way.

"Iran is seeking to obtain a nuclear weapon and constitutes the gravest threat to our existence since the war of independence," Mr Netanyahu said at President Peres’s official residence.

‘Made in the U.S.A.’ isn’t dead, just different

Manufacturing sector is shedding jobs; Experts see it changing

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a puff piece. Yes, the US makes things like gas turbines and war materials, but those are big ticket items where only a few are made and sold at high profit. This is great for the company owners but the actual number of manufacturing jobs is, as this article readily admits, in decline.

You cannot prosper a nation of millions by having a few thousand workers making a few dozen whatevers that sell for a million each to other companies. The real key to allowing Americans to pay down their debts is millions of people making millions of somethings that millions of the rest of the world's people buy and use.

What was this little girl’s name, I wonder. How old was she? Was she sleeping when the bomb hit her home? Did she die a quick death or a slow, agonizing one? Where are her parents, her siblings? How are they faring?

This is a transcript from the court trial mentioned in Aaron Russo's "America: From Freedom to Fascism." On page 23 of this transcript, Judge James C. Fox admits that the 16th Amendment to the United States Constitution, the Amendment on which the income tax is based, was never properly ratified.
This is a rare admission for a Judge to make, given that the entire court system (including the Judge's salary) is funded from tax revenues, but in this case, the Judge states what we have known all along; when the relevant documents are actually examined, as opposed to the majority of Judges who simply declare the Amendment ratified by judicial fiat (a power and authority NOT granted to them under the Constitution), it cannot be demonstrated that the 16th amendment was ratified.
