Boosting compounds called adjuvants complicate licensing of pandemic vaccines

TORONTO — As swine flu vaccine becomes available in coming months, boosting compounds known as adjuvants may stretch out limited supplies. But they also pose special challenges for vaccine regulatory agencies in places like Canada and the United States.

Neither country has licensed flu vaccines with adjuvants in them before, making the addition of the oil-and-water emulsions a potential hurdle to plans to fast-track pandemic vaccines. Fast-tracking is based on the premise the vaccine is the same as seasonal flu shots, just targeting a different virus.

Russia Accuses Georgia of Renewing Violence

Bloomberg reported that Russia is accusing Georgia of reigniting the violence by launching mortars and grenades on the South Ossetia capital over the past several days, under a week away from the first anniversary of last summer’s war. Russia has stated that “the Russian Defense Ministry reserves the right to use all forces and means at its disposal” if there is a threat.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If this goes "hot" (coupled with more military destabilization in Pakistan), these together are signs of a potential Israeli/US strike on Iran.

Problems in both countries would mean that Russia would be limited as how much they could supply by land.

US troops now a 'coalition of one' in Iraq

BAGHDAD — The war in Iraq was truly an American-only effort Saturday after Britain and Australia, the last of its international partners, pulled out.

Little attention was paid in Iraq to what effectively ended the so-called coalition of the willing, with the U.S. — as the leader of Multi-National Force, Iraq — letting the withdrawals pass without any public demonstration.

The quiet end of the coalition was a departure from its creation, which saw then-U.S. President George W. Bush court countries for support before and after the March 2003 invasion.

Novartis Patent Detailed And Mass Murder Charged

Murder suspects are either convicted or acquitted at trial based on the prosecution's presentation of EVIDENCE which usually hinges on MOTIVE, OPPORTUNITY, and TIME-LINES combined with physical documents. To gather such hard evidence, detectives and/or federal agents often spend months following leads and interviewing witnesses. In the trial phase, re-creating the sequence of events is essential. I submit this paper will provide more than enough hard evidence to at least result in a series of criminal indictments of charges of MASS MURDER, and CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT WORLD GENOCIDE against Novartis Pharmaceutical principals and agents and others.

Why a third of women want to give up work to look after their children

More than a third of working mothers want to quit their jobs to look after their children, research suggests.

A further six in ten would like to reduce their hours to spend more time with their young ones, the Government-backed study found.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In the 1990s, feminists exhorted women to leave their homes and go to work. The feminists didn't say women should have a choice in the matter. The social expectation of home-maker was simply replaced with a new social expectation of career path. The door was not merely opened into the executive quite; women were kicked through it. Indeed women who wanted to stay at home with their children were looked on as socially inferior.

Then the economy started to change and women in the workplace discovered they could not go back to staying at home with the kids. Two working parents became the social norm, with the government happy as hell to collect the additional taxes. Raising the children feel to the school/indoctrination centers and TV. Mom's home-cooked meals gave way to processed food. Profits and revenues went up while the social and health consequences continued to climb.

Behind the revenue stream was a darker issue. In hindsight, the push to make women independent came with a parallel program to demonize men, call them all potential rapists, and make them disposable. Looking back it was obvious even then that a prolonged war was being planned and men had to be freed up to be soldiers.

The 1990s was a repeat of the "Rosie the Riveter" campaign that lured WW2 women out of their homes and into the factories so that the men could be shipped off to be killed in war.

After WW2 ended the media pushed the image of "mother at home" as new fashion ideal. TV shows like "Leave it to Beaver" and "Father knows best" persuaded women to leave the factories in order that returning soldiers would find jobs. It was all social engineering and manipulation and while it may have worked well in the 1950s, women today with a sense of history are realizing they have been scammed and that what they thought was freedom of choice was really just another imposed societal expectation. The extra cash they thought they would earn has all but vanished into higher taxes and child-care costs, not to mention the expensive wardrobe, second car and other accouterments of the modern workplace. Meanwhile women are just now realize what men have known all along; it is painful to watch ones children grow up from afar.

Woken want out. But they are trapped just as trapped as they were told they were when they stayed at home with the kids.

In the process of learning about the treatments I was able to read the horror stories of those who have experienced this dreadful state. For some of them it is a routine occurrence. Do to my dietary awareness and other things I have avoided this until now. I learned that in the U.S a single CT scan can cost thousands of dollars. I got two with no problem and no charge. I learned that the ultra sound method for pulverizing the stone can cost up to fourteen thousand dollars and I suspect that is what stayed the hand of my doctor at the clinic. I stayed in the hospital for two days and underwent various blood and fluids tests as well as the CT’s and x-rays and the cost was ten Euro for each day in hospital.

50 Palestinians evicted from their Jerusalem homes

Israeli police evicted two Palestinian families in east Jerusalem on Sunday, then allowed Jewish settlers to move into their homes, drawing criticism from Palestinians, the United Nations and the State Department.

Police arrived before dawn and cordoned off part of the Arab neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah before forcibly removing more than 50 people, said Chris Gunness, spokesman for the U.N. agency in charge of Palestinian refugees.

U.N. staff later saw vehicles bringing Jewish settlers to move into the homes, he said.

Good Farming Was More Advanced A Hundred Years Ago

“Backward” farmers like myself may not look so backward after all in the future. Ralph Rice, who farms in northeastern Ohio, just emailed me a photo of his unbelievably lush corn, unbelievable because it is an open-pollinated variety and has no chemical fertilizers on it at all. The reason I believe Ralph’s photo is because I have similar corn and it is just beautiful. I hate to tempt fate by bragging— we could get a wind storm tomorrow and blow it all over. But the case just must be made. Granted that this is, so far, a very good year for corn, no one with an open mind can look at Ralph’s or mine and not wonder if maybe we backward guys are really going forward.

All the literature from about 1870 to 1910 states that four-fifths of the plant nutrients in animal feed is still in the manure when it hits the ground. With careful handling and application of the manure, most of those nutrients can go back to the soil. Careful handling means using bedding and manure packs in the barn, not flushing the manure out with water as if the confinement building were one giant toilet bowl, which is what it really is. The other one fifth of the nutrients needed— and more— can come from green manuring with clovers, say the old books, and as both Ralph and I are convinced is true from actual experience.

The Plot To Destroy The US Dollar

PLOTTING THE DESTRUCTION OF THE US DOLLAR and the weakening of its role as the reserve-currency in the global market, was the underlying agenda of the Bilderberg Group, which convened its most ominous meeting to date in Greece on May 14-17, 2009.

According to an alleged Kremlin report, (and it’s believable), the shadowy Bilderberg Group - made up of financial, political and corporate elite - emerged from their conclave after coming to an agreement that in order to continue their drive towards a New World Order dominated by the Western powers, the US dollar had to be destroyed.

Diet Sweeteners Can Make You Sick and Fat

A more serious situation arises when the body is given artificial sweeteners on an ongoing basis. Since the sweeteners repeatedly stimulate the taste buds responsible for detecting sugar, the brain maintains an almost continuous urge to eat. At the same time, the liver is instructed by the brain to store sugar supplies rather than to release them, which causes chronic fatigue. The pancreas, which had wrongly assumed that real sugar was entering the bloodstream, eventually realizes that it has been cheated. Hence it reduces its secretion of insulin. One might think that this solves the problem but the body reacts with depression.

Note that the document number is given as 47,044. Obama is  a 47 year old  chief executive and 44th president of the United States.  A rather amazing coincidence.

But the really damning part of the document is this. The location of birth is given as Mombasa. But Mombasa was part of the state of Zanzibar until December of 1963. This certificate is dated February 1964 and carries the name "Republic of Kenya", but Kenya did not formally declare itself a Republic until December of 1964.

Geithner Won’t Rule Out New Taxes for Middle Class

Geithner was clear that he believes a key component of economic recovery is deficit reduction. When I gave him several opportunities to rule out a middle class tax hike, he wouldn’t do it.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to Tim Geithner: if, sir, in fact, you are looking at more taxes for the middle class, what We the People are looking at is the new "taxation without representation", the fundamental reason American colonists risked all to break from Britain, and found a new nation.

This and the previous administrations borrowed this country into a huge hole to fund these continuing wars without end: no one asked me how the devil they were going to pay for it. I mightily disapprove of the wars and the spending for these wars. However, of course, I was no match for the huge contractors (for whom congressional representatives are merely "acquisitions"), with their fat no-bid contracts who have made out - literally - like bandits from these wars.

And frankly, sir, I do not have one more dollar - one more cent - to spend on a government which has turned its back on its people.

Congress has become absolutely useless in representing the will of the people they allegedly represent; they are simply the acquisitions of the large corporations which have "purchased" them through overt and covert contributions to their campaigns to keep them in power.

This and the previous administration have bailed out their cronies in the banking industry to the tune of trillions of taxpayer dollars.

So, Mr. Geithner, if you believe for one millisecond that the American people are going to continue to fork over their very hard-earned dollars to a government which has, for all intents and purposes, thrown We the People under a bus, you may be in for some very interesting surprises.

Deconstructing the walls of Jericho

This is what archaeologists have learned from their excavations in the Land of Israel: the Israelites were never in Egypt, did not wander in the desert, did not conquer the land in a military campaign and did not pass it on to the 12 tribes of Israel. Perhaps even harder to swallow is the fact that the united monarchy of David and Solomon, which is described by the Bible as a regional power, was at most a small tribal kingdom.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This article did appear in Ha'aretz and can still be found using their archive search system.

One of the great crimes committed against the people of Iraq was the looting of the Baghdad Museum and the destruction of many important ancient sites inside Iraq.

I think that destruction of ancient sites is deliberate policy.

Egypt is literally littered with the ruins of the ancient temples and palaces of her rulers. As much as has been found, it is estimated that only 1/3 of Egypt's archeological wonders have been uncovered. A newly discovered temple was uncovered while digging a sewer line, and a cache of finely preserved mummies was literally stumbled over by a cow in a pasture.

Iraq's ancient heritage was enshrined in its ancient sites and museum. As a result of the war, many of those sites have been damaged or destroyed. Part of the ancient city or Ur now lies underneath a US air base runway. Nebuchadnezzar's palace now lies underneath a US-built parking lot. The treasures of the museum have only partly been recovered. The treasures from the looted archaeological sites have been scattered to the world.

All of this wealth of archaeological treasures must of course annoy Israel. We are raised from birth with Old Testament tales of the greatness of the ancient Israelites, of the powerful kingdoms of Solomon and David and the first temple. Yet Israel, while rich in antiquities, is almost totally devoid of artifacts from this supposedly glorious time in her history. The existence of the fabled First Temple was supported with just two artifacts, a carved staff ornament in the shape of a pomegranate and the Jehoash tablet. Both of these artifacts have been exposed as frauds. We are told that once there was a magnificent temple on that hill, but it "all went away."

The wonders emerging from the soil of Egypt, Iraq, and Iran serve as a constant reminder that ancient buildings of such a scale as we are told the First Temple was simply do not vanish without a trace.
There is considerable reason to suspect that the tales told in the Old Testament are just that; tales. The Bible is not science, it is the collected stories of a primitive tribal people telling each other how important they are. And like fishermen talking about the one that got away, or Ramses with his temple carvings of the did-not-really-happen victory over the Hittites at Kadesh, the writers of the ancient testaments assumed that the people they were telling stories to had no way to verify the claims for themselves. So "embellishment" was a low-risk activity.

We do know from the available archaeological evidence that the Exodus probably actually happened to the Hyksos, not the Israelites. We know that the story of Moses is suspect because no Egyptian princess would hide a Hebrew child inside Pharaoh's household, then give the kid a Hebrew name ("Moses" is actually an Egyptian title meaning "Prince" and is included in the names of many Pharaoh's names such as Tut-Moses, Ah-Moses, Ra-Moses (Ramses) etc.)
Likewise, the story of Masada may be less than accurate. The remains found on the mountain were buried with pig bones, something no proper Jewish funeral would tolerate, which suggests that the bodies found and venerated as heroes of ancient Judea were actually those of dead Romans, for whom burial often involved animals as gifts to the spirit of the dead.

But a good story is a good story and the writers of the ancient texts were probably not thinking much further into the future than the guys who pen the "Celebrity dates space alien" stories you see at supermarket checkout lines. The fact that the celebrity is a real person does not prove the space alien exists. It's just a story.
Given enough time, even a simple story written in jest can take on a life of its own. Scientology began as a bet between two science fiction writers; look how wide spread that has become in just a short time.

But, over time, entire religions with attendant wealth and power structures have been built on the premise that these old testament stories really happened exactly as written. And today, here in the 21st century world, science has started to catch up with these ancient legends and call many of them into doubt.

So, for a nation that justifies its existence on the writings of the Torah, the plethora of sites and artifacts confirming the ancient histories of Egypt, Iraq, Iran, etc. etc. etc. must seem a dire political threat for a nation whose own ancient history seems to have left little if any traces at all.

In that context, the strange behavior of the US military which posted guards around the Iraq oil ministry while bulldozing Iraq's archaeological sites starts to make sense, if the supporters of a very insecure nation decide that leveling the archaeological playing field is preferable to allowing the obvious disparity in artifacts to remain visible to the world.

Market Review: Weakening Dollar, Rising Urban Unemployment

On Wednesday the Treasury’s five-year auction yield was 2.69% with 21.15% allotted at the high and bid to cover was 1.92 to 1. The average of the past ten auctions has been 2.20%. Indirect, central bank participation was 35.7% versus an average of 36.8%. Overall that was weak demand. Do not forget the Treasury has to raise $2 trillion by 9/30/09.

Unadjusted labor Department jobless claims are up 35%.

The Treasury’s borrowing need have been exploding and the auctions are getting progressively weaker. This presents a serious problem for the dollar. Once 78 on the USDX is broken the index should freefall. We expect the government will staunchly defend 78, but will lose the battle probably in October or at least by the end of the year.

What has Bernanke panicked is this: the Federal Reserve has bailed out the biggest banks and has let over 50 little ones die. This is crony capitalism at its most notorious.

The threat is that Congress will discover what should be obvious: the biggest banks last October almost went bankrupt. Bernanke and Paulson admitted this to Congressional leaders. Which banks? The FED refuses to say.

The newly appointed commander of US-led troops in Afghanistan says he does not plan to halt controversial air strikes which have killed many civilians in the war-torn country.

Gen Stanley McChrystal emphasized the blitzes were necessary to protect troops taking part in ground operations across Afghanistan.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One is reminded of the response of the Papal Legate during the Catholic Church's prosecution of the Cathars during the siege of Montsegur in France.

When learning that women and children were with the men holding out against the Church's army, the Papal Legate's instructions were "kill them all: God will find his own."

You cannot win what is essentially a ground war from the air; American military and civilian leadership should have absorbed that very bitter and crucial lesson from Viet Nam, but apparently they have not.

The bombing of civilians is guaranteed to do do two things; radicalize those left standing even further away from the Karzai government, and causing local populations to refuse to offer any useful information to American troops, which seem to be consistently unable to protect them from the Taliban.

Obama passing new law to allow searching of PC's, Laptops, and media devices

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Iss your mp3 player in order, schwine?!?"

Folks, here is the answer to the current copyright and copying issue.

1. Learn a musical instrument.

2. Write your own music.

3. Feel free to give it away.

I am not being smug here. One of the downsides of modern digital players is that fewer and fewer people learn to play musical instruments or to create their own music.

Playing a musical instrument is great exercise for your brain. Writing your own music means not having to be slaves to the thoughts of the corporate-owned lyrics. And since you own the music, you can do what you want with it, including giving away copies.

Being a content creator myself, I empathize with the holders of copyrights with regard to the file copying problem. But given the terror-tactics of the RIAA/MPAA and this new invasive attitude by the government, I an seriously disinclined to purchase any more commercial content and ready to toss all my digital players into the trash.

Silence can indeed be golden. If the government intends to make commercial entertainment too complicated and difficult to use, let us all agree to stop using it.

On a purely practical point, the latest iPhone has a 32 Gig memory. Some of the high end digital players go even higher. Are they really planning to slow down the airport lines even further by doing a 15 minute download on every single media player going through the gate?

Second practical point; Who pays for all this protection for the record and movie industry? The movie and music industries won't want to bear the costs because that would raise the price of product and further erode sales already in dire trouble from the declining economy. So the taxpayers will get screwed for this as well, which means WE THE PEOPLE will have even less money to spend for pleasures like music, which means record and film sales are still going to go down anyway because of this, but the record and movie companies will refuse to see that their draconian solutions are only accelerating the problem.

Third practical point; MP3 players are cheap these days. Just as I have a cheap laptop to travel with (since TSA destroyed a really expensive one a while back) those who are into pirated content will have a cheap MP3 player in their pockets when they go through security checkpoints while their "real" players are hidden somewhere else. Many smart phones that double as media players have removable memory cards. How hard is it to conceal one of those tiny gigabyte chips?

Fourth practical point; How does a scan of our media players know if the content is legally owned or not? Downloaded content has a DRM license tag on it, but what of music transferred from a legally-owned CD into the player; a feature supported by every current playing system. There is no way to know if the CD sitting in that drive is an original disk or not.

Fifth practical point; what if the MP3 player is borrowed, bought at a yard sale, a hand me down, or shared among multiple users in the family? Reasonable doubt exists that any one user of the device is the "criminal."

As scary as this new law sounds, it is on a practical level just flat out not enforceable.

In the end, content theft, like any crime, is a moral issue. All populations inherit the moral qualities of their leaders. In a nation where the government is stealing other nations' wealth, it is hard to convince kids that copying a file is any big deal.

After Combat, Victims of an Inner War

The number of suicides reported by the Army has risen to the highest level since record-keeping began three decades ago. Last year, there were 192 among active-duty soldiers and soldiers on inactive reserve status, twice as many as in 2003, when the war began. (Five more suspected suicides are still being investigated.) This year’s figure is likely to be even higher: from January to mid-July, 129 suicides were confirmed or suspected, more than the number of American soldiers who died in combat during the same period.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Is it possible that these suicides are results of people understanding, with chilling clarity, that in these US wars of aggression without end, we are absolutely not on the right side of history??

Qahwaji orders troops on high alert to face any Israeli threat

The commander of the Lebanese Army, General Jean Qahwaji, ordered the Lebanese Armed Forces on Thursday to stay on high alert in anticipation of any Israeli aggression on Lebanon. In a statement to celebrate the Lebanese Army’s 64th anniversary on August 1, Qahwaji urged the military establishment to preserve its unity in order to face upcoming threats and challenges.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The General and civilian leadership in Lebanon understand very well that Israel is looking for an excuse, any excuse, to invade Lebanon again.

This time, the IDF will try to get all the way to the Litani river, because Israel is running out of drinkable water.

Extinct ibex is resurrected by cloning

Using DNA taken from these skin samples, the scientists were able to replace the genetic material in eggs from domestic goats, to clone a female Pyrenean ibex, or bucardo as they are known. It is the first time an extinct animal has been cloned.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Can we resurrect all those people tortured to death to find the 'nookular' bombs that never existed?

Aug 02 10:03

A chip off the old block.

Write them off as impromptu indiscretions, or as off-the-cuff remarks not to be taken as formal expressions of policy, but diplomatic time-bombs tossed casually in the past month by his Vice President and his Secretary of State are exposing President Barack Obama to something dangerously close to ridicule on the international stage.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The only "change" we have witnessed from this administration is that of having an infinitely more telegenic pitch-person feeding us precisely the same kind of tripe the previous administration attempted to ram down the throats of Americans; the only difference here appears to be that Obama looks infinitely better doing and saying precisely what Bush and his minions did and said.

This is going to lead to calamitous problems geopolitically in the weeks and months ahead.

Afghanistan commander General Stanley McChrystal to call for more US troops

The top US commander in Afghanistan is on a collision course with the White House after it emerged that he plans to ask for more American troops to bolster dangerously under-resourced operations there.

Anthony Cordesman, of the Centre for Strategic and International Studies, who spent a month in Afghanistan on behalf of the advisory board, argued that without a doubling in the number of Afghan troops the conflict could be lost.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In total, when all the troops get to Afghanistan, we'll have a full military complement of 240,000 if Mc Chrystal's request get approved.

That's just a little over half of what the old Soviet Union brought to bear to "pacify" Afghanistan; and they suffered a a catastrophic defeat anyway.

And, without the reinstitution of the draft in the US, coupled with a US military stretched to almost the breaking point, one has to wonder precisely where this added troop strength is supposed to come from.

Debunking "September Clues" and "No Plane" Theories

Webmaster's Commentary:

The government plants a lot of nonsense into the 9-11 discussion to keep people confused and arguing endlessly with each other.

One claim put out by government plants is that a plane did not actually hit the Pentagon, and even more amazingly this has been followed with a claim that the footage of aircraft hitting the World Trade Towers is faked.

Obviously nobody believes such drivel; the purpose of planting this material in the public eye is to use it to discredit anyone who questions the official story of 9-11.

This video takes on the claim that the World Trade Tower impacts were faked.

Russia to drill for oil off Cuba

Russia is to begin oil exploration in the Gulf of Mexico, after signing a deal with Cuba, says Cuban state media.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Had it not been for a consistently, stupidly short-sighted and vindictive US embargo against Cuba, it could have been the US making a deal for this oil, rather than Russia.

We've somehow managed to find what interests we have in common with Russia and China (and began normalizing our relationship with Vietnam as of 2007). Why has there been such a consistent resistance on the part of Congress to normalize our relationship with Cuba?

Russia and China have been making deals to get the energy supplies they need; we've been shooting bullets and dropping bombs to attempt to get ours, which hasn't been working out very well, frankly.

What's wrong with this picture?!? EVERYTHING!!

Prolonged aid to unemployed is running out

Over the coming months, as many as 1.5 million jobless Americans will exhaust their unemployment insurance benefits, ending what for some has been a last bulwark against foreclosures and destitution.

Tens of thousands of workers have already used up their benefits, and the numbers are expected to soar in the months to come, reaching a half-million by the end of September and 1.5 million by the end of the year, according to new projections by the National Employment Law Project, a private research group.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder what will happen to these people and their families when unemployment aid runs out completely.

Saudi rebuffs US appeals for israel peace gestures

Seated next to US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal rejected a "step-by-step" diplomatic approach and called for tackling core issues like Palestinian statehood and refugees.

"The question is not what the Arab world will offer," Prince Saud said at a joint press conference with Clinton after talks in Washington. "The question really is: what will Israel give in exchange for this comprehensive offer."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Prince Saud hit the nail squarely on the head with this observation.

The real question is, on what issues is Israel negotiable to actually bring about a lasting peace in the region?

The answer, unfortunately, appears to be absolutely nothing.

Home Office: 'Support our wars or you'll be denied a UK passport'

Immigrants who take part in protests against British troops could be denied citizenship of this country under controversial new Home Office rules.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is not about protesting against UK troops per se; it is about protesting what the Parliament putting UK troops in harm's way by signing off on a military campaign based on a pack of lies, as was the invasion and occupation of Iraq.

Apparently, for immigrants wanting to become UK citizens, attempting to tell the truth through peaceful protests against the government is now a high crime and misdemeanor.

Injunctions and criminal charges have been filed with the FBI against the WHO, the UN, Obama, Rothschild, Rockefeller and many others involved in the NWO plot of mass depopulation by way of bio-warfare genocide. Their plans included the mass murder of over 5 billion people worldwide starting with the USA by creating a man made virus pandemic, and then to euthanize the population via mandatory vaccination injections. The charges have been officially filed with the FBI along with an extensive amount of evidence and a full investigation is now underway.

Until the US holds a “broader inquiry” into the investigation of the 2001 anthrax mailings, US House Rep. Rush Holt (D-NJ) won’t be satisfied that there isn’t a mass killer on the loose in his home town.

Holt — whose 12th Congressional district of New Jersey includes a postal facility from which some of the anthrax letters were mailed during the 2001 biological terrorism scare — says that the FBI “suffers from a credibility gap” because of the many mistakes made by the bureau during its long investigation into the first serious case of biological terrorism on American soil.

Health Care Tyranny by 13 Obstructionists

For those still clinging to quaint notions of the American ideal, these have been a faith-shaking 10 years. Just as evolutionary science once got in the way of creationists’ catechism, so has politics now undermined patriots’ naive belief that the United States is a functioning democracy.

Is Michelle's fashion fraud continuing?

the fashionable first lady the world’s been waiting for…waiting for her to pay for her fashions
February 26, 2009 The media’s favorite punching bag, Sarah Palin, seems to be criticized for everything she does, short of breathing. No scratch that, people have criticized her for that, too. But, for some reason, Michelle Obama is *the First Lady we have been waiting for* and can do no wrong…even if she is wearing clothes she didn’t pay for. Instead of criticism for wearing clothes she didn’t pay for, she is deemed a fashion icon....Michelle Obama is not paying for her clothes. Are sunspots changing and will that take us to an Ice Age?

With 690 spotless days so far in this minimum as of June of this year, that is hardly outside of the range of previous minimums but it ain't over and there is no sign it will be anytime soon. The characteristics of the sunspots are unusual and don't look good to this interested lay person. Is this a lead in to a Maunder Minimum type Little Ice Age or is this the beginning of the big one? Time will tell.

The big story here is not the characteristics of sunspots changing but rather the changing tenor of the professional scientific community to stand up for true scientific debate that has been suppressed for so long. Far too long, in my opinion.
