Intel To Lay Off 12,000 People

Intel to lay off 12,000 people. Is the iconic chipmaker in trouble?
The technology pioneer announced a new focus that shifts its business further away from its legacy in personal computers to the fast growing cloud and 'Internet of Things' industries.

As it navigates its path into the future, Intel, the 47-year-old corporation best known for making microprocessor chips that power personal computers, has announced significant changes to its business.

On Tuesday, Intel’s CEO Brian Krzanich said in a letter to employees that the company over the next year will cut its 107,300-person global workforce by 12,000 people, or 11 percent.

The move, said Mr. Krzanich, is meant to help transform Intel from a PC company to one that powers the cloud and the ‘Internet of Things,’ a term used to describe connected devices such as washing machines, coffeemakers, and automobiles. It also will save the chipmaker $750 million this year, says Intel in a public announcement.

Austrian riot police clash with protesters fighting new border controls as anti-immigration far-right triumphs in first round of presidential elections

Austrian riot police used batons and pepper spray as they clashed with protesters fighting controversial new controls at the country's border with Italy today.

Scuffles broke out when several hundred demonstrators tried to breach police barriers at the Brenner Pass where Austria has said it will toughen controls in response to unprecedented migrant flows into Europe.

The violent scenes broke out as it emerged Austria's anti-immigration far-right has triumphed in the first round of a presidential election, with candidates from the two governing parties failing to even make it into a runoff in May.

Britain might have to deploy troops to fight ISIS in Libya warns Philip Hammond as David Cameron prepares for G5 talks with Merkel and Obama in Germany

Mr Hammond has repeatedly said in recent weeks there are no plans in place for Britain to join a new mission in Libya - despite firm reports a 1,000-strong British force will be deployed on a training mission.

But Mr Hammond today said nothing should be ruled out, adding Royal Air Force or Royal Navy assets could also be deployed alongside the Army.

The revelation comes as David Cameron prepares to fly to Germany to join a G5 meeting with US President Barack Obama, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande and Italian Premier Matteo Renzi.

Plans have been drawn up for a full-blown 'United States of Europe' and Britain will have little say, warns top Tory minister

Plans have been drawn up for a full-blown United States of Europe over which Britain will have 'very little say', a Cabinet minister warned today.

The Prime Minister has promised that, as a result of his referendum reforms, Britain will not be sucked into an EU superstate.

But Chris Grayling, the leader of the Commons, pointed to a document signed last September in Rome by the speakers of the national parliaments in Germany, France, Italy and Luxembourg.

It says that 'concrete proposals' to deepen EU integration towards a 'federal union of states' will be drawn up at a meeting in Luxembourg next month.

The joint declaration states: 'We are convinced that new impetus must be given to European integration. We believe that more, not less, Europe is needed to respond to the challenges we face.'

Did a Ukrainian fighter jet shoot down MH17? BBC documentary claims Boeing 777 may have been targeted by another plane

New evidence suggests that the downing of the Malaysian Airlines plane MH17 was caused by a shot from a Ukrainian fighter jet rather than a ground-to-air missile.

The damning allegations will be revealed in a BBC documentary which puts forward a number of theories as to why the aircraft exploded.

It is even argued that the tragedy was caused by a CIA-backed 'terrorist operation.'

...

Although the official report states that the plane was hit by a Russian-made Buk missile fired from an area of the Ukraine that was under the control of Russian-backed rebels, the programme notes that people saw the aircraft being shot down by a fighter jet.

...

They believed that two jets were present and that one fired an air-to-air missile, while the other fired a canon from the back into MH17's cockpit.

Obama Requests Support For Possible War Against Russia

According to Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten (German Economic News), on April 23rd, U.S. President Barack Obama is “demanding the active deployment of the Bundeswehr [Germany’s armed forces, including their Army, Navy, and Air Force] to NATO’s eastern borders” at Poland and the Baltic republics, to join the quadrupling of America’s forces there, on and near those borders of Russia. (This is an extreme violation of what Russian leader Mikhail Gorbachev agreed to when he ended the Soviet Union and its NATO-mirror organization the Warsaw Pact, but it’s actually culminating a process that began shortly after he agreed to America’s terms, which included that NATO “not move one inch to the east.”)

Anti-racism protesters clash with police at Confederate rally in Georgia

Clashes erupted between police and counter-protesters at a far-right Confederate rally at Stone Mountain in Georgia on Saturday. Another rally held in Georgia the same day featured KKK and Nationalist Socialist Movement members.

9/11 truth poses ‘existential threat’ to Israel: Analyst

The recent media frenzy over Saudi Arabia’s possible role in the September 11, 2001 attacks is aimed at distracting people from much deeper involvement of Israel as the truth would endanger the Tel Aviv regime’s existence, an analyst in Idaho says.

Mark Glenn made the remarks in an interview with Press TV over US Democratic presidential contender Bernie Sanders’ recent calls on the American government to expose Saudi Arabia’s role in the 9/11 attacks that killed some 3,000 people.

How Democrats Could Snatch Defeat Out of the Jaws Of Victory

The many high-level officials in the Democratic Party, including super delegates, who strongly support Hillary Clinton, are extremely confident that she will become their party’s nominee and then win in the general election. But they would be wise to hold off on their celebrations because dark, menacing clouds continue to loom over her candidacy.

Sure, she was a big winner in New York but her huge disapproval rating still represents a major liability; far too many Americans just don’t like or trust her. So even if she beats Sanders, which might be a safe bet at this point, she will, thereafter, come under a withering, relentless attack in the general election when Republicans take aim at her political baggage and the many skeletons in her closet.

Texas has lost 84,000 oil and gas jobs in the oil bust

Texas lost 84,000 oil and gas jobs in just 16 months, according to the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers, which has been tracking the impact of the oil and gas bust across the state.

Karr Ingham, the petroleum economist who authors the group’s Texas Petro Index (which has also been in decline for 16 months), announced the latest data at the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers annual meeting this past week in Austin.

An estimated 222,000 Texans remain on so-called “upstream” oil and gas industry payrolls – the part of the industry that includes exploration and production activity. That’s down 27.5 percent from a high of about 306,020 in December 2014.

Ingham expects tough times are still ahead in Texas oil, with more layoffs to come.

Oil tanker laden with North Dakota crude reaches Netherlands

A petroleum tanker laden with 175,000 barrels of North Dakota crude was being offloaded in Europe on Wednesday, the first such overseas shipment of the state’s oil since Congress lifted a 40-year ban on crude exports in December.
***
“It’s a big deal,” said Ron Ness, president of the North Dakota Petroleum Council, a trade group that represents about 500 companies working in the oil patch in the western part of the state. “Once you get a barrel to sea, it will fetch a better price.”

The ban on crude exports was put in place in response to the energy crisis of the 1970s.
***
“Where crude goes is where it gets the best value,” Roper said. “We are always seeking higher value. When the value is right, we will definitely do it.”

The company has said that producers could earn up to $14 more per barrel for domestic sweet crude by selling it on the world market.
***
Ness said lifting the export ban should help bring higher prices for North Dakota oil.

“The whole world is a market now,” he said.

Ted Cruz is not eligible to be President of the United States; The meaning of "Natural Born." UPDATED

United States v. Wong Kim Ark, 169 U.S. 649 (1898)

"A person born out of the jurisdiction of the United States can only become a citizen by being naturalized," "Under our Constitution, a naturalized citizen stands on an equal footing with the native citizen in all respects save that of eligibility to the Presidency." "It is important to recognize that "citizenship" itself is man-made. So we need to separate "natural born" from "citizen". The two are independent of one another. Naturalization statutes can make one a citizen, but not "natural born". That is solely about the physical circumstances of one's birth, such as location."

The Supreme Court elaborated in Luria v. United States, 231 U.S. 9 (1913)

"Under our Constitution, a naturalized citizen stands on an equal footing with the native citizen in all respects save that of eligibility to the Presidency."

5 Scientific Reasons That Global Warming Isn't Happening

If nothing changes in the next year, we're going to have kids who graduate from high school who will have never seen any "global warming" during their lifetimes. That's right; the temperature of the planet has essentially been flat for 17 years. This isn't a controversial assertion either. Even the former Director of the Climate Research Unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, Phil Jones, admits that it's true. Since the planet was cooling from 1940-1975 and the upswing in temperature afterward only lasted 22 years, a 17 year pause is a big deal. It also begs an obvious question: How can we be experiencing global warming if there's no actual "global warming?"

River of Fire: Politician Makes Intense Video to Illustrate the Dangers of Fracking

By Matt Agorist

Five years ago, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) was commissioned by Congress to undertake a study on the impacts of hydraulic fracturing (fracking) on drinking water. This newer method of oil and gas extraction involves the pumping of highly pressurized water, sand and chemicals into underground rock formations.

Fracking has driven the boom in U.S. oil production and contributed to the steep drop in gasoline prices, but the environmental impacts of this relatively new technique are not well understood.

The EPA’s draft study—released in June to solicit input from advisers and the public—found that fracking has already contaminated drinking water..

History of Nordic EU referendums holds lessons for British vote

With Britain’s noisy campaign over a possible Brexit polarizing voters, tight referendums over EU membership two decades ago in Norway and Sweden offer lessons how campaigns that stay positive and focus on ordinary people can swing voters at the last minute.

In the space of just two weeks in 1994, Sweden voted by 52.3 percent to join the EU, while Norway voted by 52.2 percent to stay out. They were two of the closest-run EU referendums in history, momentous decisions that split families, generations and political parties.

Both nations are relevant to the British campaign. Norway is touted as a model by Brexit supporters, with close EU trade ties despite remaining outside. Sweden is seen as a successful arm’s-length approach to EU membership, retaining its own currency.

Army TOP Priority they focua on

This is what the Army concentrates on.
It is strange if you think about it too long. How much things have changed in such a short time. How just the thinking has changed. Twenty-five years ago we were worried about nukes and WMDs in Iraq. We had a focus, but we were by and large at peace.

Now we are faced with a resurgent Russia pushing in several areas, ISIS, Afghan Terrorists, and a very unstable Middle East that seems ready to fall into despotism. And the strong military that was set to stand and did stand in our and our allies’ defense is slowly being dismantled.

While this occurs what does the Army say it needs to do? Concentrate on Climate Change.

Gagging The Scientists: Britain’s Proposed Rules

Has the British political establishment had an atrophying episode on the science front? Suggestions that this might be the case came last week when there were suggestions that a gag of Britain’s scientists might be in the works. The Cabinet Office had busied itself with proposals in February that, if implemented, would prevent organisations from using tax-payer funds to lobby parliamentarians.

Evaluate Hillary Clinton By Her Results, Not Her Words

Hillary Clinton’s major result was produced while she was the U.S. Secretary of State, her refusing at that time to call the coup in Honduras on 28 June 2009, a “coup.” By her refusing to call it a coup, the U.S. Government, under Barack Obama, was enabled to continue financial aid to the Honduran Government, and this financial aid, in turn, enabled the coup-installed regime to become stabilized and to remain in place, despite the rest of the world’s government’s having condemned it.

Trump resumes Canada critique of Cruz

Donald Trump is again questioning Ted Cruz's eligibility to be president, saying the Texas senator came "straight out of the hills of Canada."

"You're registered as a Canadian citizen, he never knew he was a Canadian," Trump said while speaking to a crowd packed in a high school in Waterbury, Conn.

Trump said he's confident Cruz won't get the Republican presidential nomination, but believes Democrats would sue him if he were to ever become president.

"The first thing the Democrats are going to do is sue him on the basis that he’s not a naturalized citizen, he wasn’t born in the country," he said.

It Doesn’t Require Much For A Nuclear Ban Treaty To Be Successful

What if a most of the world declared nuclear weapons — as they have cluster bombs, and chemical and biological weapons — illegal? As you can imagine, the chances of nuclear weapon states being among them are slim to nonexistent. But a growing movement believes that a nuclear ban treaty, also known as the Humanitarian Initiative, can be a first step toward global disarmament.

College Board deletes discussion on monetary/banking reforms as ‘not related to teaching AP Economics;’ Emperor’s New Clothes naked debt continues waddling down US pot-holed streets

*hyperlinks/videos live at source*

This article documents a discussion among Advanced Placement Macroeconomic teachers I initiated on our discussion board. Because this topic concerns literally ~$1,000,000 near-instant benefits for each average US household, Americans literally have nothing more valuable for their attention.

Highlights of this discussion:

Game-changing data revealing our .01% looting of trillions, along with solutions to reverse this condition were met with two leading teachers’ denial and straw man arguments. Of course, this is the opposite of professional academic discussion. Zero colleagues spoke-up in support or interest of this data.

My pointing to these two colleagues’ straw man arguments with a step-by-step introduction to see the data was met with silence; both from the two opposing colleagues and everyone else.

‘NYT’ exposes Clinton as most hawkish candidate when it’s too late for readers to choose

The piece is an ode to Clinton’s “pugnacity” and her “muscular brand of American foreign policy,” with a celebratory chorus line of Robert Gates, Jake Sullivan and various functionaries. And lest you had any doubt about the newspaper’s point of view, there’s this foolish bonbon at the end:

It’s an open question how well Clinton’s hawkish instincts match the country’s mood. Americans are weary of war and remain suspicious of foreign entanglements. And yet, after the retrenchment of the Obama years, there is polling evidence that they are equally dissatisfied with a portrait of their country as a spent force

It’s not an open question actually. As Stephanie Schriock of Emily’s List told J Street last week, the mood of the people is isolationist, they don’t want to be engaged in foreign wars.

Syrian Elections Confirm West’s Worst Fears

By Tony Cartalucci

Despite Syria’s ongoing conflict, life in many parts of the nation goes on. Syria’s election schedule is no exception. The last parliamentary elections before the latest held this month were in 2012. Since these elections are held every 4 years, the recent elections were far from a “political stunt” to bolster the legitimacy of the current government, but instead represented the continuity of Syria’s ongoing, sovereign political process.

Attempts to undermine the credibility of the elections have become the primary objective of US and European news agencies, however, even the US government’s own election monitoring nongovernmental (NGO) agencies have conceded the last presidential election in 2014 saw soaring voter turnout, and despite attempts to leave voter turnout this year omitted from US-European press reports, it appears to also have been high...

Israel puts poet under house arrest

Dareen Tatour has long dreamed of seeing her poems translated from Arabic into other languages — so that they reach people across the world.

One of her poems has indeed been translated recently, but not in the way she had hoped.

A Hebrew version of “Resist, my people, resist them” was read aloud by an Israeli police officer at a Nazareth court hearing on 13 April. Tatour has been charged with incitement to violence based on the contents of that poem, the Arabic original of which is available on YouTube.

Although the poem urges resistance to Israel, it does not call for specific acts of violence. Rather, it draws attention to violent attacks on Palestinians by Israelis.

Halliburton Fires One Third Of Global Staff: "What We Are Experiencing Today Is Unsustainable"

In a brutally frank and painfully honest first quarter operational update, Halliburton president Jeff Miller poured freezing cold water all over the "oil is stabilizing, and everything is going to be awesome" narrative. After explaining that the firm has laid off one-third of its global employees, and pointing to the collapse in sequential revenues across every business unit, Miller exclaimed: "What we are experiencing today is far beyond headwinds; it is unsustainable."

Due to the deadline of its merger agreement with Baker Hughes Halliburton has delayed its earnings conference call until May 3rd and so gave an operational update. The headlines were horrific:

FORMER FDA COMMISSIONER MARGARET HAMBURG NAMED IN MASSIVE CONSPIRACY AND RACKETEERING LAWSUIT INVOLVING JOHNSON & JOHNSON, A WALL STREET HEDGE FUND, AND THE LEVAQUIN DRUG

The lawsuit alleges that while acting as FDA commissioner, Margaret Hamburg engaged in a wide-ranging conspiracy to approve an extremely dangerous drug known to cause severe (and even deadly) side effects, in order to financially benefit her husband's hedge fund which held very large financial positions in Johnson & Johnson, makers of the drug. "Defendants, each and every one of them, operated a criminal conspiracy at least between the years 2009 to 2015 to fraudulently suppress warnings about the devastating effects of Levaquin," says the complaint.

Weather Channel Founder Slams Global Warming: "The Theory Has Failed"

If Bill Nye had his way, Weather Channel founder John Coleman would be heading for jail. Having spent more than 60 years as a meteorologist, Coleman penned a pointed rebuke to "the science guy's" vehement faith in the 'science' of climate change, exclaiming that "science has taken a back seat at The UN... get politics out of the climate debate."

On this Earth Day 2016, there is a great deal of frenzy about how our Earth is going to become uninhabitable, as the civilized activities of man allegedly trigger unstoppable global warming and climate change.

With the Obama administration set to commit the U.S. to the Paris climate agreement by signing our nation onto the document Friday, it is obvious that science has taken a back seat at the United Nations.

Maine’s Tea Party governor says Cruz’s ‘political hooligans’ are trying to hijack delegates

Ted Cruz’s campaign faced more allegations of dirty tricks after the Maine governor, Paul LePage, took to Facebook to condemn the Texas senator’s campaign as being run by “greedy political hooligans.”

The fiery and controversial governor claimed on Friday that the Trump and Cruz campaigns had previously reached a “unity deal” to elect delegates to the national convention in proportion to results of the Pine Tree state’s 5 March caucuses.

Such an allocation would deliver 12 Cruz delegates, nine for Trump and two for John Kasich, the Ohio governor.

However, LePage, a Trump supporter, said on the eve of Maine’s state convention that the Cruz campaign had reneged on the deal, believing they could fill all 21 delegate slots on the ballot. “I can’t stand by and watch as Cruz and the Republican establishment forcibly overrule the votes of Mainers who chose Trump and Kasich,” said LePage.

Firms that paid for Clinton speeches have US gov't interests

It's not just Wall Street banks. Most companies and groups that paid Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to speak between 2013 and 2015 have lobbied federal agencies in recent years, and more than one-third are government contractors, an Associated Press review has found. Their interests are sprawling and would follow Clinton to the White House should she win election this fall. The AP's review of federal records, regulatory filings and correspondence showed that almost all the 82 corporations, trade associations and other groups that paid for or sponsored Clinton's speeches have actively sought to sway the government — lobbying, bidding for contracts, commenting on federal policy and in some cases contacting State Department officials or Clinton herself during her tenure as secretary of state.

73,846 US Iraq War Soldiers Dead How they manipulated the numbers to fool you.

The casualties in the Vietnam War were pretty simple to understand. If a soldier was dead from his combat tour, he was a war casualty. There are 58,195 names recorded on the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, DC.

But something odd has happened with the Iraq War. The government, under the Bush administration, did something dishonest that resulted in a lie that's persisted since the war began -- and continues to this very day. They decided to report the war deaths in Iraq only if the soldier died with his boots on the ground in a combat situation.

The actual figures have been hidden from the American public just like the returning, flag draped coffins were censored from the press. But the figures are now available and we can only hope that the American people will be outraged when they learn how they have been misled.

George Soros: Anti-Syria Campaign Impresario

The Madaya media circus still lingers on regardless of the multitude of proven anomalies and outright deceit of the mainstream narrative. Deaf to either public opinion or investigation, institutions like the BBC consider they are above accountability to those who pay for their existence, the British public.

They considered it perfectly acceptable to release footage from Yarmouk 2014 and represent it as Madaya 2016..and when questioned, to remove the offending footage without explanation or responsibility for their obscurantism and misinformation tactics.

Thankfully, Robert Stuart, ardent campaigner against the BBC’s long running, hostile, anti Syria propaganda offensive did raise an official complaint and demanded answers that the BBC has, for too long, been allowed to avoid answering.
