North Korea positions missile on launch pad

North Korea has said it would launch a satellite between April 4 and April 8.

South Korea, Japan and the United States have all said they want to press sanctions against the North for a launch and see no difference between a satellite launch and a missile launch because they use the same rocket -- the Taepodong-2.

Israel slams UN rights report on Gaza as 'one-sided, unbalanced, unfair'

Israel on Tuesday slammed as "one-sided" a report by a UN human rights investigator which said its three-week war on the Gaza Strip was possibly a war crime.

The mainstream media fails to emphasize that almost half of February’s increase was defense spending. In fact, defense spending jumped 35% from the previous month! Orders for non-defense capital goods, though rising 6.6% in February, was revised down to - 11.3% in January which was TWICE as bad as previously reported.

The Boxwood Maze and The Pecking Order.

Pedophiles have a process called ‘grooming’ which operates in stages to convince the child that what is going to happen to them is okay. There’s no difference between this and what happens to society as a whole. You could say that the actual business of business, government and religion is child abuse. The only difference between it happening as a child or as an adult is that, as an adult, you’ve gotten used to it and you might even like it at that point. Most people accommodate it and explain it to themselves in some way that allows them to live with it… otherwise, business, government and religion could not operate and profit with any consistency.

On March 18, Rep. Miller’s amendment will “prohibit organizations from attempting to influence legislation; organize or engage in protests, petitions, boycotts, or strikes; and assist, promote, or deter union organizing,” according to GovTrack.us, a site that tracks Congress.

One Small Problem With Geithner's Plan: It Will Bankrupt The Banks

The big problem with Tim Geithner's plan to fix the banks is the same as it ever was: The gap between what banks say their assets are worth and what the market says they are worth.

When a bank says an asset is worth 60 cents and the market says it's worth 30 cents, someone has to cover that spread. The genius of Geithner's plan is that it pawns most of the cost (and most of the risk) off on the taxpayer without the taxpayer noticing.

Nobel Laureate Dr. Joseph Stiglitz Says "The Geithner Plan Amounts To Robbery Of The American People"

From the Reuters interview:

The U.S. government plan to rid banks of toxic assets will rob American taxpayers by exposing them to too much risk and is unlikely to work as long as the economy remains weak, Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz said on Tuesday.

"The Geithner plan is very badly flawed," Stiglitz told Reuters in an interview during a Credit Suisse Asian Investment Conference in Hong Kong.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner's plan to wipe up to US$1 trillion in bad debt off banks' balance sheets, unveiled on Monday, offered "perverse incentives," Stiglitz said.

The U.S. government is basically using the taxpayer to guarantee against downside risk on the value of these assets, while giving the upside, or potential profits, to private investors, he said.

Scientists in possible cold fusion breakthrough

Researchers at a US Navy laboratory have unveiled what they say is "significant" evidence of cold fusion, a potential energy source that has many skeptics in the scientific community.

The scientists on Monday described what they called the first clear visual evidence that low-energy nuclear reaction (LENR), or cold fusion devices can produce neutrons, subatomic particles that scientists say are indicative of nuclear reactions.

"Our finding is very significant," said analytical chemist Pamela Mosier-Boss of the US Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR) in San Diego, California.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Expect to see a flood of news articles ridiculing this announcement, as we have seen a flood of news articles ridiculing Cold Fusion ever since the initial announcement.

If Cold Fusion were to be proven and the general public aware of it, it would change the world. Oil would be obsolete except as a lubricant and raw material for plastics. Cars would be electric and self-powered. So would homes. Large centralized power companies, always a target for terrorists, would not longer be needed. Small electronics would be self-powered for the lifetime of the owner. Batteries as we know them now would be instantly obsolete.

Now, I have not had the time or resources to look into this myself, so I do not know where the truth lies on this issue.

What I do know is ...

1. There are a great many very wealthy US corporations which would find Cold Fusion a threat to their wealth and power.

2. Human-Caused Global Warming has proven that scientists can be bought to support a political agenda.

3. The US Government and media lied to us all about Saddam's nuclear weapons.

4. The courts have ruled that since there is no law requiring the US mainstream media to tell the truth about anything, that news corporations have a legal right to fire any reporter who refuses to lie when ordered to do so.

Ms. Redding, an honors student, had no pills. But she had a furious mother and a lawyer, and now her case has reached the Supreme Court, which will hear arguments on April 21.

Former Senator Santorum is No Expert on Islam!

Mr. Santorum–notorious for spewing anti-Muslim bigotry–argued that Americans know “too little” about Islam. He said he believes Muslims’ religious views cannot be changed or altered and this is why Middle Easterners reject American “democratic” ideals.

Oh please, Mr. Santorum, save us the agony of your “promoting democracy” trash talk! You don’t promote democracy by the use of “shock and awe”, nor by invading and occupying two sovereign nations or calling for the bombing Iran.

The last time a Middle Eastern nation had a genuine and free election in January 2006, the United States, along with Israel led the Western nations in a boycott of the election results by imposing collective punishment on the Palestinian people.

"You can very easily erase entries" - Cleveland State University Finds Problems In Election Machines

The Premier software does not keep track of ballot deletions, according to a recent report by the California secretary of state. The software also records the wrong entry date and time for some ballots and allows audit logs to be deleted.

Such flaws mean that insiders could tamper with election results, then erase their electronic trail.

Fighting for life: American peace activist shot by Israelis

The parents of an American peace activist publicly appealed yesterday for a full investigation into how their son was shot in the head with a high velocity tear gas canister by Israeli security forces.

BUT, that seems to be the opinion of Israel’s top military officer, Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi. In a speech he was quoted as saying; “I tell you that this is a moral and ideological army”.

Moral and ideological army??????? Killing innocent children, women and hundreds of civilians is moral? Strange code of ethics these zionists seem to have….

Back to the old-new “three-regions” argument

The U.S. still considers the possibility of dividing Iraq into three regions, the Kurds in northern Iraq, the Sunnis in the center and the Shiite in the South.

Which means that the U.S. authorities unaware of the consequences, because such a division could cause political problems with neighboring countries.

Poll: Do You Think Geithner is Worse than Paulson, Better, or More of the Same?

Leading economists have said that Geithner's actions are just more of the same. For example, Paul Krugman says that "Tim Geithner, the Treasury secretary, has persuaded President Obama to recycle Bush administration policy".

In fact, Geithner is throwing a lot more money at the banks, hedge funds and other bigs than Paulson did.

Geithner urges overhaul of financial regulations

Geithner told a Washington conference that the Obama administration plans to work with Congress to put in place a stronger, more stable system with a modernized government regulatory structure.

New Powers for Geithner - Seizure of Companies

The Obama administration will ask Congress to give the Treasury secretary unprecedented powers to initiate the seizure of non-bank financial companies, such as large insurers, investment firms and hedge funds, whose collapse would damage the broader economy, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said this morning.

Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner is set to argue for the new powers at a hearing today on Capitol Hill that was scheduled to address the furor over bonuses paid to executives at American International Group, which the government has propped up with about $180 billion in federal aid. Administration officials say the proposed authority would have allowed them to seize AIG last fall and wind down its operations at less cost to taxpayers.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Why is it the responsibility of the US Government to save AIG's counterparties form their own poor choices?

Why is it the responsibility of the US taxpayer to pick up the tab?

FBI’s mole in Real IRA ‘was dishonest as the day is long’

An FBI spy who infiltrated the Real IRA was involved in picking up runaway teenage girls to sleep with and “keep like puppy dogs”, the Omagh bomb civil action has heard.

Lawyers for jailed terror chief Michael McKevitt likened David Rupert to an iceberg, with nearly all of his treachery unexposed beneath the surface.

Rupert was a con-man prepared to do anything short of murder, and anyone who tangled with him came off badly, it was claimed.

Questions have been raised about whether some PMA-related campaign contributions were actually given by the people listed as donors. For example, thousands of dollars in contributions to Dicks, Washington Sen. PJB: The Weimar Solution

Deflation is what America underwent in the 1930s. A Fed-created bubble burst, causing margin calls to go out to stockholders, who ran to their banks that, besieged, collapsed, wiping out a third of our money. As Milton Friedman, who won a Nobel for his thesis that the Federal Reserve caused the Great Depression, told PBS in 2000:

“For every $100 in paper money, in deposits, in cash, in currency, in existence in 1929, by the time you got to 1933 there was only about $65, $66 left. And that extraordinary collapse in the banking system, with about a third of the banks failing … with millions of people having their savings essentially washed out, that decline was utterly unnecessary.

Why High-Fructose Corn Syrup Causes Insulin Resistance

A new study in mice sheds light on at least part of the reason for the insulin resistance that can come from diets high in high-fructose corn syrup, a sweetener found in most sodas and many other processed foods.

Fructose is much more readily metabolized to fat in the liver than glucose, and in the process can lead to nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. NAFLD in turn leads to hepatic insulin resistance and type II diabetes.

Israel slams UN rights report on Gaza

Israel on Tuesday slammed as "one-sided" a report by a UN human rights investigator which said its three-week war on the Gaza Strip was possibly a war crime.

"Unfortunately this is a further example of the very one-sided, unbalanced and unfair attitude of the (UN) Human Rights Council," government spokesman Mark Regev told AFP.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"I mean, in fairness if the United Nations is going to report every time Israel drops white phosphorus onto a Gazan school yard, they should report an incident of the Gazans dropping white phosphorus on an Israel school yard! Yes, I know the Gazans didn't actually do that, but it would be fair for the UN to say that they did!!!!" -- Tel Aviv

(Ahem) Israel, you are raising on a busted flush on this one. Quit while you still have some dignity ... never mind.

U.N. reports say Israel targeted civilians in Gaza

United Nations investigators said on Monday Israel violated a range of human rights during its invasion of Gaza, including targeting civilians and using a child as a human shield.

The accusations came in reports to the U.N. Human Rights Council which also called for an urgent end to Israeli restrictions on humanitarian supplies to Gaza and a full international investigation into the conflict.

"Civilian targets, particularly homes and their occupants, appear to have taken the brunt of the attacks, but schools and medical facilities have also been hit," said one report by Radhika Coomaraswamy, the U.N. Secretary-General's Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict.

The Big Takeover

No empire can survive being rendered a permanent laughingstock, which is what happened as of a few weeks ago, when the buffoons who have been running things in this country finally went one step too far. It happened when Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner was forced to admit that he was once again going to have to stuff billions of taxpayer dollars into a dying insurance giant called AIG, itself a profound symbol of our national decline — a corporation that got rich insuring the concrete and steel of American industry in the country's heyday, only to destroy itself chasing phantom fortunes at the Wall Street card tables, like a dissolute nobleman gambling away the family estate in the waning days of the British Empire.

Obama Dials Down Wall Street Criticism

Bankers were shell-shocked, especially when Congress moved to heavily tax bonuses. When administration officials began calling them to talk about the next phase of the bailout, the bankers turned the tables. They used the calls to lobby against the antibonus legislation, Wall Street executives say. Several big firms called Treasury and White House officials to urge a more reasonable approach, both sides say. The banks' message: If you want our help to get credit flowing again to consumers and businesses, stop the rush to penalize our bonuses.

Webmaster's Commentary:
